CONTAMINATION OF RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION FLUIDS. SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NISSAN RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. NOW 10,000 TO REPAIR AND I PUT THE BILL AND TELL ME TO TAKE HOME AND PARK IT. TRANSMISSION COULD GO OUT ANYTIME. WHY NO RECALL AND WHERE IS JUSTICE HERE. I TRADE CARS WHEN MY FINANCES ALLOW ME TO, NOT WHEN I HAVE TO, SO THIS IS MY COMPLAINT WILL NISSAN BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE? I KNOW THERE'S MANY MORE PEOPLE OUT THERE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND NISSAN SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. *JS
WHILE DRIVING OUR VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT PRODUCE ANY FORWARD MOVEMENT, THE ENGINE WOULD REV, AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD FREE SPIN. WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE MECHANIC AND HE STATED THAT THERE IS A TRANSMISSION CODE FOR A FAULTY SERVO. HE CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FOUND IT TO BE ABNORMALLY DIRTY. NISSAN HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION THAT WAS A RESULT OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I AM OVER THE 100,000 MILE CAP FOR THE WARRANTY AND NISSAN WILL NOT GRANT A WAIVER. I ALSO FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THE FULL REPLACEMENT COST OF THESE ITEMS. EVEN IF I WAS UNDER THE 100,000 MILE CAP I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY A $3,000 DEDUCTIBLE. *TR
VEHICLE JERKS AND STALLS BETWEEN 30 - 40 MPH SOMETIMES AFTER THE TRANSMISSION IS WARMED UP. *TR
I WAS ON VACATION IN VIRGINIA, HEADING BACK TO CT WHEN MY CARS ABILITY TO ACCELERATE STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND COULD FEEL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE CAR. HE STARTED CHANGING LANES AND GLIDED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. MY HUSBAND, OUR 16 YEAR OLD SON, HIS FRIEND, AND OUR 4 YEAR OLD NIECE AND I WERE IN THE CAR. WE WAITED FOR TRIPLE A, WERE TOWED TO A PEPBOYS FACILITY, (THE ONLY FACILITY I COULD THINK WOULD BE OPEN ON A SATURDAY) FOR THEM TO TELL US THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST US WITH THE ISSUE OUR VEHICLE WAS HAVING. THE TOW TRUCK TOWED US TO A TRIPLE A FACILITY WHICH WAS CLOSED. WE HAD TO GET LODGING FOR THE EVENING AND PAY TRIPLE A FACILITY APPROXIMATELY $100.00 TO TELL US OUR TRANSMISSION WAS DONE AND IT WOULD COST US ANYWHERE BETWEEN $5000.00 AND $8000.00 TO HAVE REPAIRED. I THEN HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR, AND A ADDITION $1200+ DOLLARS TO HAVE OUR CAR TOWED BACK TO CT. I KNOW HAVE $5000 TO REPAIR MY CAR TO FIND OUT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED LOOSING OUR TRANSMISSION ON THE HIGHWAY THAT DAY. IT REALLY BOTHERS ME THAT NISSAN KNEW THE POSSIBILITY OF THIS FAILURE. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:AUXILLARY TANK
OUR 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER BEGAN TO OCCASIONALLY RUMBLE WHEN IT WAS CHANGING GEARS. WE WERE ADVISED BY OUR MECHANIC THAT THIS WAS RELATED TO A FAILURE IN THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION/RADIATOR COOLER SYSTEM. WE CONTACTED A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, AND WERE ADVISED THAT OUR VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. HE FURTHER ADVISED THAT NISSAN KNEW OF THIS FAILING, AND HAD EXTENDED THEIR WARRANTIES ON THESE VEHICLES TO 10 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. HOWEVER, THIS WARRANTY INCLUDES UP TO A $3000 DEDUCTIBLE. THE DEDUCTIBLE IS DETERMINED BY YEAR AND MILAGE OF THE VEHICLE. OUR NISSAN HAS 87,000 MILES, SO WE WILL HAVE TO PAY A $2500 DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE REPAIR WORK. *TR
MY COOLANT LEAK FLUID INTO MY TRANSMISSION , NISSAN HONORED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IS REPLACING THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION. MY WHOLE EXHAUST SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ALSO AND MY COST FOR THAT IS 1200. *TR
THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND COME BACK ON WHILE TRAVELING WITH 6 PASSENGERS ON THE 101 FWY IN NORTH LOS ANGELES COUNTY. THEN IT'S GAUGE SHOWED IT RUNNING HOT (NO SMOKE OR LOSS OF POWER) AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THEN THE GAUGE SAID IT WASN'T RUNNING HOT AND NO POWER LOSS. I CONTINUED DOWN THE FREEWAY AND MADE IT HOME WITH NO MORE PROBLEMS. I STUDIED AND RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM FOR HOURS ON THE WEB. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE NEXT DAY. MY RESEARCH TURNED UP VALID. THIS 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER SE VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER. NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. INSTEAD NISSAN EXTENDED A WARRANTY TO 100K AND PASSED THESE FLAWS ON TO THE CONSUMER. SHAME ON NISSAN! THE PROBLEM IS WHAT IS DESCRIBED AS A FLUID INTERMIX. THIS IS BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID HAS COOLING COILS THAT RUN THROUGH THE RADIATOR. FOR A YEAR OR TWO NISSAN HAD PRODUCED DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND WAS NOT FORCED TO RECALL. NOW ME THE CONSUMER IS STUCK WITH A SIX TO NINE THOUSAND DOLLAR REPAIR BILL ON MY VEHICLE WITH 110K MILES ON IT. RECALL THESE VEHICLES PLEASE NISSAN. WHISTLE BLOWERS JUST ASK THE SERVICE PEOPLE ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR NO NISSAN DID. THIS IS CONSUMER ABUSE BY CORPORATE TOUGH GUYS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE MALFUNCTIONED. THE GAUGE DISPLAYED INCORRECT READINGS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE SHIFTING. IT SHIFTED OR WOULD NOT SHIFT WHILE IN OPERATION. WE WERE OUT OF STATE ON VACATION AND DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. MANAGED TO GET BACK HOME AND PARKED IT. CALLED NISSAN DEALER. EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM. *TR PROBLEM: CRACK WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER IN THE RADIATOR. MIXED COOLANT WITH TRANSMISSION. NEED TO REPLACE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. AND THERE IS ONLY A 12/12 WARRANTY ON THE REPLACED PARTS!!! ESTIMATED COST: $ 5000.00, SINCE THE VEHICLE TURNED OVER THE 100000 MILE. NISSAN KNOWS THIS PROBLEM EXIST AND HAS NOT EVEN NOTIFIED OWNERS OF POTENTIAL PROBLEM. THEIR DESIGN ISSUE OUR COST ISSUE.
WAS AT A STOP LIGHT ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN WENT TO ACCELERATE THE TRUCK AND IT WOULD NOT GO CONTINUE TO PRESS ON THE ACCELERATE UNTIL FINALLY IT WENT, THIS CONTINUE UNTIL I MADE IT HOME, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON 04/09/2013 AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND WOULD COST AROUND 10,000.00 TO REPAIR TOLD THEM NO WAY THE TRUCK IS ONLY SEVEN YEARS OLD, THEIR RESPONSE WAS IT HAS A LOT OF MILES. ASK IF I WOULD LIKE TO TRADE IT IN,TOLD THEM I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN. STUCK WITH A BROKEN TRUCK. *TR
CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHILE ON THE ROAD OCCURED AND CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE, CAUSING OTHER DRIVERS TO SWAY OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID COLLISION. CAR DRIVEABLE AFTER, BUT DETERIORATING DUE TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION CASE. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN PROBLEM THROUGHOUT THE NISSAN ORGANIZATION, BUT REMAINS UNADDRESSED SUFFICIENTLY. THIS PLACES A MAJOR COST ON 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS AND ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SO THIS NEGLIGENCE CANNOT PERSIST. I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR SOME OF THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS AND FOR SOME OF THE REPLACEMENT COST, BUT NISSAN MOTOR CORPORATION SHOULD FULFILL ITS OBLIGATION PER THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN 2012. *TR
RADIATOR FAILED COOLANT LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEED TO BE REPLACED. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND NEVER INFORMED ME OF THIS ISSUE. IF I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM I WOULD HAVE HAD RADIATOR REPLACED. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. I AM SURE MORE SIMILAR SITUATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO OCCUR UNTIL THERE IS AN OFFICIAL RECALL. STARTED AS A VIBRATION ON 5FT GEAR AT AROUND 45MPH. DURING A ROUTINE CHECK, IT WAS FOUND TRANSMISSION OIL INTO THE COOLING SYSTEM. HENCE, THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS CONTAMINATED WITH COOLANT, CAUSING TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION AS A RESULT OF A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR. *TR
APRIL 2013 I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. IT BEGAN SHUDDERING UPON ACCELERATION. WE CONTACTED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT ANY RECALL OR ANY OTHER SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE OR ANY OUTSTANDING SERVICE BULLETINS IN REGARDS TO THIS PARTICULAR YEAR AND MODEL. SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD OVER 80,000 MILES AND WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. APRIL 30 IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY WAS LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND NEEDED REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS FINE FOR THE FIRST WEEK AFTER REPAIR. ON MAY 9 MY VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO GO OVER 20 MPH. IT BEGAN SHUDDERING AND LOOSING POWER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STANDSTILL OR AT A LOW SPEED. AT THAT POINT, I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND GET THE CAR TO A SAFE PLACE ALONG THE ROADWAY. GOING BACK TO THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP THEY FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID, CHANGED THE OIL AND PUT IN NEW FILTERS. ABOUT A WEEK LATER WHEN THE ENGINE WAS HOT; IT WOULD CONTINUE TO SHUDDER UPON ACCELERATION, AGAIN THEY FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION AND CHANGED OIL. IT CONTINUED TO HAVE ISSUES. ON JUNE 2 WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL TRANSMISSION PLACE WHERE WE HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. AT THIS TIME WE WERE TOLD ABOUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR NISSAN RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION COOLER LITIGATION, WHICH ALLEGES THESE VEHICLES CONTAIN A DEFECT THAT PERMITS CROSS-CONTAMINATION OF ENGINE COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID, ULTIMATELY CAUSING THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION TO FAIL OR NEED SUBSTANTIAL REPAIRS. THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FURTHER ALLEGES THAT NISSAN FAILED TO DISCLOSE THE ALLEGED RADIATOR DEFECT TO CONSUMERS DESPITE KNOWING ABOUT IT. YOU NEEDED TO FILE NO LATER THAN JUNE 7, 2013. OUR ISSUES OCCURRED AFTER THE DEADLINE. THIS ISSUE HAS COST US OVER $5,000.00. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 55 TO 60 MILES PER HOUR AND FELT AN INTENSE VIBRATION CAUSING MY CAR TO START SHAKING AS IF I WERE ON THE RUMBLE STRIPS IN THE MEDIAN. I DROVE THE CAR TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD MY RADIATOR HAD LEAKED INTO MY TRANSMISSION DESTROYING THE TORQUE CONVERTER. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO HELP ME AS WELL AS I HAVE BEEN DENIED BY AN AFTERMARKET WARRANTY THAT NISSAN PERSUADED ME TO PURCHASE. *TR

I HAVE THE 06 PATHFINDER, THERE WAS A RECALL THAT I WAS NOT AWARE OF, UNTIL I START SEARCHING AFTER THE CAR HAVE ACCELERATING ISSUE THAT ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, ANYWAY I WENT TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID NISSAN ONLY COVER U TO 100000 MILES. OUR IS 15000 MILES OVER, THE PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTED RADIATOR AND THAT LEAK COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION. IT WOULD COST US $7600 TO REPAIR IT , AND WAY OVER OUR BUDGET . I START CHECK ONLINE AND THERE IS A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUES. HOPE MY COMPLAINTS HELP US AND MANY OTHERS THAT HELP SAME MISFORTUNE. *TR
RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE ISSUES ACCELERATING. THIS RESULTED IN OVER $700 IN CAR REPAIRS. *TR
AT HIGHER SPEEDS THE CAR STARTED SHUDDERING / JERKING WHEN IT WAS TRYING TO UP OR DOWNSHIFT. AT FIRST IT WAS NOT TOO NOTICEABLE HOWEVER THAT CHANGED RELATIVELY FAST AND HE JERKING WAS MORE APPARENT. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER IT WAS FOUND TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. THE PROBLEM WAS A CRACK WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER IN THE RADIATOR CAUSING INTERMIXING BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE COOLANT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY. SINCE MY VEHICLE HAD BETWEEN 80000 AND 90000 MILES I WAS IN THE $2500 COPAY RANGE. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO RADIATOR HOSE LEAK. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT MILAGE LIMITS EXCEEDED. I HAD THE CAR IN MULTIPLE TIMES THIS WAS NEVER DISCLOSED TO ME. VEHICLE PAID OFF 12/2012- FAILURE 3/2013. TOTAL COST FOR NEW TRANSMISSION/RADIATOR WAS 7,000.00. I HAD TO BORROW THE MONEY SINCE THIS VEHICLE WAS MY ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK.
OBSERVED MILKY PUDDLE UNDER RADIATOR AND THICK MILKY PINK FLUID IN RADIATOR AND OVERFLOW RESERVOIR. OBSERVED DURING THE LAST 3000MILES INTERMITTENT VIBRATIONS SIMILAR TO HITTING THE "WAKE-UP" STRIPS ON THE SIDE OF A HIGHWAY SHOULDER OR WASHER-BOARD ROAD TEXTURE. VIBRATIONS HAPPENED AT VARIOUS TIMES BETWEEN 1250 TO 2250 RPM AND 50 TO 60MPH. TIRE BALANCE WAS RULED OUT AS A CAUSE OF VIBRATION BY MECHANIC. DEALER DIAGNOSIS VERIFIED CROSS CONTAMINATION OF THE ENGINE COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSED BY AN INTERNAL TRANSMISSION COOLER IN THE RADIATOR SPLIT APART. A MECHANIC DESCRIBED THE DAMAGE THAT WOULD BE CAUSED TO THE TRANSMISSION FROM THE CROSS CONTAMINATION WOULD INCLUDE SEVERE CORROSION. TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS IMMINENT BECAUSE OF THE SEVERE LEAKAGE. TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS ALSO SUDDEN, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OPERABLE EVEN WITH THE PRESENCE OF A LEAK. WAS TOLD THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE CAR WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. ADVISED TO HAVE THE CAR MOVED TO A LOCAL TRANSMISSION BUSINESS FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. RECEIVED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT NOTICE AGAINST NISSAN FOR THE VERY MAKE AND MODEL SUV I OWN. AT THE TIME, I HAD NO PROBLEMS. I HAVE MAINTAINED THE VEHICLE WELL. THIS VERY COSTLY TRANSMISSION PROBLEM CAME ON SUDDENLY WITH NO WARNINGS, WHICH I READ IS TYPICAL OF THIS NISSAN DEFECT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY DURING RUSH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR WOULDN'T GO OVER 45MPH AND THE RPM WENT UP TO 6-7 RPM'S AS MY TRANSMISSION SLIPPED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER OVER TO THE MEDIAN, BUT IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO EXIT AND CHECK THE ENGINE BECAUSE OF THE RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC DRIVING IN EXCESS OF 65-70MPH. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TOWED TO COGGIN NISSAN IN JACKSONVILLE, FL AT MY EXPENSE. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE RUPTURED INSIDE OF THE RADIATOR ALLOWING COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID TO MIX AND CROSS CONTAMINATE. THEY SUGGESTED I GET A NEW RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. THE SAME DEALERSHIP SOLD ME THE TRUCK AND A WARRANTY BY FIDELITY WARRANTY SERVICES. THE WARRANTY COMPANY THAT IS A SUBSIDIARY COMPANY OF THE DEALERSHIP OWED BY SOUTH EAST TOYOTA (SET) DENIED MY CLAIM SAYING TO ROOT OF THE PROBLEM WAS THE RADIATOR. FELT LIKE THIS IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST SINCE SET OWNS THE WARRANTY COMPANY, WHICH WOULD BE LIKE ASKING YOUR BOSS TO PAY FOR SOMETHING. CONTACTED NISSAN AND HAVEN'T HEARD BACK. ALL NISSAN OFFERED WAS INFO ON THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WHICH DIDN'T HELP SINCE THIS FAILURE IN THEIR ENGINEERING OF THE VEHICLE DIDN'T OCCUR UNTIL AFTER 107,710 MILES WAS PUT ON MY VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE WITH ONLY 93,844 MILES ON IT, AND HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES SHAKE AND RUMBLE WHEN TRAVELING BETWEEN 40-55 MPH. THE CAR HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE IN THE 2 WEEKS THAT THE PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING. I TOOK MY NISSAN FOR REPAIR AT BERLIN CITY NISSAN IN PORTLAND, MAINE ON 2/19/2013 AND THEY STATED THAT THE PROBLEM IS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE KNOWN ISSUE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH HOW THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION ARE INTEGRATED TOGETHER. IN SUMMARY WHEN THERE IS A CRACKED ATF LINE IN THE VEHICLE, THAT ENGINE COOLANT WILL RUN THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION ULTIMATELY CAUSING PERMANENT DAMAGE AND REQUIRING THAT THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION BE REPLACED. MY RADIATOR FAILED AND POSSIBLY LEAKED RADIATOR FLUID INTO MY TRANSMISSION, VIA AN INTERNAL RADIATOR COOLER. THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR. INVOLVING A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. MY MECHANIC CAUGHT THIS PROBLEM EARLY ENOUGH THAT MY TRANSMISSION WASN'T COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE RESULTING REPAIR WAS $900 PLUS $200 FOR A TRANSMISSION FLUSH AS A SAFEGUARD TO POSSIBLE RADIATOR FLUID THAT MAY HAVE GOTTEN INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE STAGGERING I CURRENTLY HAVE A FUEL SENDING UNIT ISSUE THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY EXTENSION. THIS IS A POORLY MADE VEHICLE THAT HAS COST ME THOUSANDS IN REPAIRS. NISSAN NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM, LESS THAN A YEAR AGO WITH 75,000 MILES, THEY TELL ME THAT THE WARRENTY ONLY COVERS VEHICLES WITH LESS THAT 80,000 MILES. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THE ISSUE, ONLY THAT THE PATHFINDER WAS A SOLID, CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VIHICLE. NOW I WILL HAVE TO PAY $3,000 CO-PAY. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I WAS 2000 MILES OVER THE 100,000 MILE EXTENDED POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AND THAT I WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENTS UNDER WARRANTY (WHICH WOULD HAVE COST ME $3,000?). INSTEAD IF I WANT THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION REPLACED I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $7,000-$8,000 WHICH I FIND VERY UNETHICAL BECAUSE AS A PREGNANT MOTHER DRIVING AROUND 2 SMALL CHILDREN THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE FOR MY FAMILY TO DRIVE IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION. TOOK IT BACK TO NISSAN AND ONCE AGAIN THE SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. I MENTIONED THAT I HAD READ ABOUT TRANSMISSION POSSIBLY BEING AFFECTED BY RADIATOR LEAKS ON OTHER PATHFINDERS. NISSAN SAID I CAN'T ALWAYS BELIEVE WHAT I READ ON THE INTERNET. NISSAN DOES NOT WANT TO LOOK AT THE TRANSMISSION FOR US. I BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE JUST WAITING FOR MY CAR'S WARRANTY TO BE UP. I FEEL HELPLESS AND SCARED THAT ONE DAY I WILL BE IN AN ACCIDENT AND NISSAN NEVER HELPED MY FAMILY OUT. *TR
A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTED JERKING INTO GEAR AROUND 45-55 MPH. I HAD NO IDEA OF THE TRANSMISSION/RADIATOR ISSUE AT THAT POINT. IN MID-DECEMBER WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE REVVED BUT BARELY WENT FORWARD AT ALL. THANK GOD I WASN'T AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT!! THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE RPM SHOT UP. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE VERY SLOWLY INTO A DRIVEWAY AND THERE IT SAT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS UNTIL WE COULD BRING IT HOME. IT HAS BEEN PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR A MONTH AND A HALF B/C I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT. THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IS DEFINITELY CONTAMINATED. A FEW WEEKS AGO I RECEIVED A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT CLAIM FORM REGARDING THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER, MY LOVELY VEHICLE HAS 119,081 MILES ON IT...THEREFORE, I AM OVER THE MILEAGE AND OUT OF LUCK! NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND HAD A RECALL BEEN ISSUED YEARS AGO THE PROBLEM COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED FOR MUCH LESS MONEY! I STILL OWE ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS DOING ME ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. *TR
