RADIATOR / COOLANT FAN. FAN MAKES LOUD, CARD IN BIKE TIRE SPOKES LIKE NOISE, AS IF SOMETHINGS CLIPPING THE FAN. PASSENGER SIDE FAN CLEARLY WOBBLES. APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE ON MANY VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LYNNES NISSAN CITY (318 BLOOMFIELD AVE, BLOOMFIELD, NJ 07003), WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COOLING FAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,400.
THE VEHICLE SHAKES, JERKS AND SHUDDERS DURING ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS I.E. 20-40 MPH. IT FEELS LIKE IT STALLS AND THEN GOES AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY AND ON THE FREEWAY ON RAMP, IN A ROUNDABOUT AND JUST TURNING OR GOING THROUGH A LIGHT. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT APPEARS IT IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAS A VERY LOUD AC BLOWER INSIDE. IT SOUNDS LIKE A JET ENGINE WHEN THE FAN IS TURNED HIGHER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH THE HOOD BECAME UNLATCHED, OPENED SMASHED INTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. DURING THE INCIDENT BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE BODY FENDERS WERE DAMAGED. THE LOCAL DEALER MANSFIELD MOTOR GROUP (1493 PARK AVE WEST, MANSFIELD OH) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,800.
LOAD CLUNKING BEHIND RADIATOR ON PASSENGER (RH) SIDE. FAULT TREE ANALYSIS REVEALED ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR FAN BLADE ASSY. FAN BLADE MECHANICAL STRUCTURE/BEARING FAILURE
THIS VEHICLE JERKS AND STUTTERS AT LOW SPEEDS, LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND ALSO DOESN'T ALWAYS SHIFT INTO THE GEAR IT SHOULD BE IN. I CAN ALSO FEEL THAT THE CAR SEEMS FAINTLY JITTERY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, EVEN ON NEW PAVEMENT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND THE 2015 PATHFINDERS HAVE A CVT TRANSMISSION LIKE THE 2013-2014 MODELS THAT WERE, APPARENTLY, RECALLED THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS AND CONCERNS FOR THIS MODEL YEAR AS WELL, I WONDER WHY NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN TO RESOLVE THIS CONSISTENT DEFECT.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated that when making a turn, the contact noticed a rumbling noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed electronic coupler. The contact was informed that the electronic coupler needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed of a Technical Service Bulletin which had a similar failure description, Technical Service Bulletin NTB10-029E, however, the contact was informed that the repair was not eligible for coverage under Technical Service Bulletin NTB10-029E. The failure mileage was 40,000.
WHENEVER I TURNED ON THE A/C OR HEATER, THERE WAS A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I NOTICED IT WHEN I WAS STATIONARY AT A STOP LIGHT. I TURNED OFF THE A/C WHICH THE NOISE WENT AWAY. I TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE TO GET IT CHECKED OUT, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE COOLANT FAN AND SHROUD WAS GOING BAD; THEREFORE, IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1,100 TO REPLACE. I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT KEPT KICKING ON THAT IT COULD EVENTUALLY BREAK OFF AND HIT THE RADIATOR WHICH WOULD DO MORE DAMAGE. I CALLED DEALERSHIP CLOSE TO WHERE I WORK, AND ASKED ABOUT IT. I WAS INFORMED THAT HE REPLACED MORE THAN A COUPLE OF THEM THIS PAST YEAR, AND TOLD ME HE COULD TAKE CARE OF IT FOR APPROXIMATELY $900. AFTER GETTING HOME, I DID SOME RESEARCH WHICH SEEMS THAT IT HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN PATHFINDERS MADE BETWEEN 2013-2017. IT SEEMS NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM; HOWEVER, NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS. TODAY, I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WHICH SHE SUGGESTED I FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA. AGAIN, IT SEEMS NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE; HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT TAKING THE STEPS TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION. IT'S COSTING CONSUMERS ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. I'VE ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION THAT I HAD IT REPLACED. ALSO, I ATTACHED JUST ONE OF THE WEBSITES THAT I CAME ACROSS THAT ADDRESSES MY CONCERN.
RADIATOR FAN MOTOR, SEEMS TO BE COMMON PROBLEM. CAN HEAR BEARINGS RATTLING IN THE FAN MOTOR.
MY 2015, IS AT 54K MILES AND IT STARTING MAKE NOISE AND HAD IT CHECKED IT'S THE COOLING SYSTEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. MY FRIEND HAS A 2017 AND SHE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN.
THE BOLT HOLDING THE SEAT IN PLACE ON THE DRIVES SIDE BROKE LEAVING THE SEAT ABLE TO SHIFT A COUPLE OF DEGREES. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT IT JUST BROKE OFF AS I BREAKED. IT WAS NOT A HARD BREAK JUST STANDARD STOP AND GO. THE RESULT WAS THAT I LEANDER FORWARD A BIT. AS A DRIVER OF A MOVING VEHICLE THIS WAS NOT GOOD
RADIATOR FAN (RIGHT SIDE) NO LONGER SPINNING SMOOTHLY, CREATING LOUD NOISE. NOISE BEGAN SUDDENLY AT 4.5 YEARS OF AGE (65K MILES), AND WAS NOTICED DURING CITY DRIVING AND WHILE STOPPED (ENGINE RUNNING). REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF "FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY" TO CORRECT.
THE VEHICLE MAKES A LOT OF NOISE WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS TURNED ON. SEEMS TO ORIGINATE FROM THE COOLING FANS. WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS TURNED OFF THE SOUND GOES OFF TOO. IT'S VERY LOUD SEEMS LIKE THE FANS ARE GOING OFF. MAKES THE NOISE WHETHER MOVING OR STILL AS LONG AS THE AC OR HEAT IS ON.
WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS TURNED ON THE CAR STARTS TO SHAKE AND OR VIBRATE. THE FRONT END OF THE CAR SOUNDS VERY LOUD LIKE A LAWNMOWER IS JUST RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. WHEN YOU OPEN UP THE HOOD YOU CAN SEE THAT THE COOLING FAN IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE IS RATTLING WHEN THE AC OR THE HEAT IS TURNED OFF BUT THE FAN ENGAGES TO COOL THE ENGINE IT MAKE THE SAME SOUND. CAR IS AT 68K MILES REPAIR FOR COOLING FAN IS VERY COSTLY AND APPARENTLY COMMON ON THE PATHFINDERS
2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS PURCHASE TWO MONTHS AGO WITH ONLY 48569 MILES IT'S STARTED MAKING A LOUD TICKING NOISE WHEN AC AND HEAT IS ON. TURN OUT FAN IS GOING OUT. VERY ANNOYING AND THE CAR IS NOT THAT OLD. I HEARD THERE WERE RECALLED BUT FOR SOME REASON THE VIN SAYS IT HAS 0 RECALLS WHICH I THINK IS THE MAKERS FAULT. NEED TO FIX AND I WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET WHEN I'M MAKING PAYMENT ON THIS VEHICLE. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS AND CONTINUED DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE STOP LAMP SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PASSPORT NISSAN OF ALEXANDRIA (LOCATED AT 150 S PICKETT ST, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22304, (703) 823-9000), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
COUPLE OF THINGS, FIRST THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG IS SET TO OFF WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT SITTING THERE, AND I HAVE A BLINKING AIRBAG LIGHT, AT ALL TIMES NO MATTER WHAT. SECOND, THERE IS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHEN I TURN MY HEATER ON. I CAN ALSO FEEL THE VIBRATION WHEN I'M STILL. THE SUV ONLY HAS ABOUT 44K MILES. I SEE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. I'M DEFINITELY DISAPPOINTED.
IN OCTOBER 2019, OUR CAR STARTED MAKING A RATTLING SOUND IN THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE. MY HUSBAND DISCOVERED THAT IT STOPPED WHEN THE AIR SYSTEM (HEATING OR COOLING) WAS TURNED OFF. WE TOOK IT IN TO A MECHANIC AND HE STATED IT SOUNDED LIKE THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY. WHEN WE FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR (2 YEARS AGO- USED), THE FIRST WEEK WE HAD IT THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY WENT BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. LUCKILY THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM REPLACED IT WITHOUT CHARGING US. WE WERE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THE SAME SYSTEM IS FAILING AFTER ONLY 44,000 MILES. IT FAILED AT 33,000 MILES THE FIRST TIME. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR FAR DISTANCES WITH THE AIR SYSTEM ON AS THEY ARE UNSURE WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO THE ASSEMBLY OR ITS EFFECT ON THE ENGINE IF IT GETS WORSE. THEY RECOMMEND REPLACING IT AGAIN. WE WERE SURPRISED THIS PIECE SHOULD FAIL TWICE IN THE 77,000 MILES ON THE CAR. NOT CONFIDENT THAT REPLACING IT IS THE ANSWER AS ONE WOULD EXPECT IT TO FAIL AGAIN SINCE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THE PART.
LUGNUTS COMPLETELY FELL OFF, STEM BROKE, AND WHEEL FLEW UP INTO WHEEL WELL CAUSING A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACCIDENT AT 60 MPH ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE WITH NO PULL OFF DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE CAR AND MAJOR DAMAGE TO CAR. SECOND TIME IN CAR HISTORY HAS HAD LUGNUTS FALL OFF AND BREAK STEMS.

AFTER RECHARGING THE BATTERY, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KEATING NISSAN (333 INTERSTATE 45 SOUTH, CONROE, TX) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 37487331. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THE VEHICLE STOPS ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING. NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PRESS THE GAS IS DOESN'T GO. WE HAVE FOUND OUT THAT WE MUST PRESS THE BRAKE DOWN NEARLY ALL THE WAY AND THEN PRESS THE GAS. THIS IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IN A BIG CITY. THERE IS NO PATTERN IT DOES IT WHILE GETTING ON/OFF EXITS AND WHILE DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL ROADS AS WELL.
JUST NOW PASSED 85K MILES ON MY PATHFINDER. HORRENDOUSLY LOUD AND EMBARRASSING CLATTERING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR. NISSAN DIAGNOSED THAT NEEDED TO HAVE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY REPLACED AT A RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRICE OF $900! I DON'T HAVE $900. SO, IT'S 96 DEGREES OUT AND MY THREE GIRLS AND I ARE TRYING NOT TO HAVE HEAT STROKES IN OUR ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION. WHERE'S THE RECALL NISSAN? I'VE READ HUNDREDS OF OTHER REVIEWS WITH SAME ISSUE.
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTING AT 64000 MILES I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THE HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM. LATELY I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WHEN I PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR DOESN'T WANT TO GO. IN ADDITION, IT SEEMS TO HYDROPLANE AND JERK IF THE ROAD IS WET AND YOU GO OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN PROVIDED A DIAGNOSIS THAT MY COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY MOTOR AND BEARINGS HAVE FAILED AND WILL NEED REPLACEMENT. MANY NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS ARE POSTING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS. I HAVE ONLY APPROXIMATELY 68,000 MILES ON THE CAR. BASED ON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS, THERE MAYBE AN UNDERLYING PROBLEM WITH THE PART. I AM PROVIDED A $1000 ESTIMATE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I WANT YOU TO TAKE THIS COMPLAINT SERIOUSLY AND PROTECT THE VEHICLE OWNERS.
WHEN ACCELERATING AND MAINTAINS NORMAL COMMUTER SPEEDS 34-70MPH THE TRANSMISSION IS LOUD AND IN INSTANCES JERKS AS IF IT IS NOT CATCHING THE NEXT GEAR. MY CAR IS 4YRS OLD WITH 77K MILES AND THERE SHOULDN'T BE A NEED FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, WHICH LOCAL NISSAN DEALER SAYS I NEED. THE COOLING FAN OR SOMETHING MAKES A LOUD NOISE WHENEVER THE AIR IS TURNED ON WHENEVER IT'S SITTING OR DRIVING
AT RANDOM, LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION AT INITIAL TAKE OFF AND/OR WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON A HIGHWAY OR STREET EVEN IF PRESSING GAS PEDAL TO FLOOR. VEHICLE WILL START WITHOUT PRESSING BRAKE. BRAKE LIGHT REMAINS ON AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF. I'VE HAD CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND BRAKE WORK DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL. ALSO, I WANTED TO CHECK SPEED CONTROL AS A AFFECTED PART BUT IT WOULDN'T SELECT.

PATHFINDER RECAL. CAR "SHUTTERS" AND "STUTTERS" WHEN TRANSITIONING IN BETWEEN GEARS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE IN DRIVE, ENTERING A FREEWAY ON RAMP, MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, IT WAS AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE CAR HAS 69,000 MILES ON IT, AND FOR THE PAST YEAR, AT APPROXIMATELY 53,000 MILES, IT'S BEEN "STUTTERING AND SHUTTERING" WHILE TRANSITIONING IN BETWEEN GEARS.
I WAS BACKING FROM A PARKING SPACE WHEN I STRUCK A PASSING CAR WITH THE BOAT HITCH ON MY REAR BUMPER. IT WAS A LOW-IMPACT COLLISION AS WE WERE BOTH MOVING SLOWLY IN A PARKING LOT. AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE CAR TO SPEAK WITH THE OTHER DRIVER, I RETURNED TO FIND THAT ALL OF THE AIR BAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR (INCLUDING FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND CURTAINS FROM THE FRONT WINDOW TO THE REAR) HAD DEPLOYED. NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME OF IMPACT BUT ME. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR DEPLOYED. I KNOW NISSAN HAS HAD PASSENGER AIR BAG PROBLEMS IN THE PAST AND BEFORE THE ACCIDENT, MINE OFTEN SHOWED THAT AIR BAGS WERE ON WHEN NO ONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. YOUR DATABASE SAYS THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON MY VIN NUMBER SO I ASSUME THAT PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD THE MATTER ADDRESSED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN 2018. MY CIRCUMSTANCE ISN'T IDENTICAL TO THE AIR BAG RECALL BUT IS CERTAINLY IRONIC. ALTHOUGH I WASN'T HURT, THE AIR BAGS SURELY DIDN'T HELP ME. THE WRONG ONES DEPLOYED AND WILL COST $6,500 TO REPLACE. CAN YOU DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NALLEY NISSAN OF CUMMING (1310 BUFORD HWY, CUMMING, GA 30041, (678) 648-7290) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STOP LAMP SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
THE BRAKE RELAY IS DEFECTIVE. IT'S CAUSING THE CAR TO THINK THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED AND YOU CANNOT USE THE ACCELERATOR. THE NISSAN TECH NOTES EVEN RECOMMEND BYPASSING PART OF THE SYSTEM WHEN YOU REPAIR. MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD IF YOU CANNOT ACCELERATE IN AN INTERSECTION OR WHILE EGRESSING FROM A PARKING LOT.
I PURCHASED A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER ON MAY 2015 AND THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NO LONGER STAY UP, IT HAS BEEN GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS. WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE OF A SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND LOST POWER. BOMMARITO NISSAN HAZELWOOD (661 DUNN RD, HAZELWOOD, MO 63042, (314) 731-2228) DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, WHICH WOULD COST OVER $5,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED A PARTIAL REPAIR TO REPLACE THE VALVE BODY AND A PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION FOR ONLY $500. THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED IN JUNE OF 2019. THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT THEY FOUND NO FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000. *DT
DRIVER SIDE VISOR INTERFEARS WITH VISION. IT CAN NOT STAY UP. JUST FLOPS DOWN.
COOLING FAN STARTED MAKING NOISES WHEN AC OR HEAT IS AT 58K. SOUNDS LIKE THE FAN BEARINGS ARE SHOT. I SEE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON LINE FOR THIS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RESOLVED BEFORE THE FAN COMES APART AND TAKES OUT THE RADIATOR.
I HAD MY TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AT APPROX. 52K MILES ON 2/23/2019. IN APRIL 2019, THE TRANSMISSION BEGIN HAVING ISSUES. RPMS WOULD RIDE HIGH; HOWEVER, TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT UP-SHIFT. OCCURRED DESPITE ACCELERATOR PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. WHEN RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR AND PRESSING AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JERK AND BEGIN TO UP-SHIFT. ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT. CAN OCCUR WHEN TAKING OFF AFTER STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION, AND SUDDENLY WHEN SMOOTHLY ACCELERATING UPON ENTERING FREEWAYS. HAVING SAFETY CONCERNS, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE AS NOTED ABOVE ON 5/8/2019. DESPITE TELLING JOSH KERN THE ISSUE WAS THE TRANSMISSION, I LATER DISCOVERED HE RECORDED THE ISSUE AS "... THE THROTTLE WASN'T RESPONSIVE." HE CALLED SAYING THE CAR WAS DRIVEN 60 MILES AND THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED BY PERFORMING A "IDLE RELEARN" AND "SELF LEARN" SOFTWARE UPDATE. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE VEHICLE NOW IDLED VERY HIGH. AFTER DRIVING IT A FEW DAYS, THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. REVIEWING THE SERVICE DOC, I REALIZED THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY DRIVEN 1 MILE AND NOT THE 60 MILES. IT ALSO HAD NOTES FROM THE TECHNICIAN THAT "ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED." I RETURNED TO NISSAN TO SPEAK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, BUT HE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. WHILE THERE, I REQUESTED ALL HARD-COPIES OF WORK PERFORMED. ON ONE PAGE WAS WRITTEN NOTES ABOUT ERASING CODES, MENTION OF THE TRANS., ENGINE & IACV-AAC, ECM ON FADED PRINT-OUT OF CODES. MADE OTHER ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT MANAGER WITH NO SUCCESS. IN AUG.2019, THE DEALERSHIP GM PUT ME IN CONTACT W STEVE ZANI (ASST. SERV. MGR.) HE WAS VERY HELPFUL, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE ISSUE. HIGH IDLE FROM UPDATE SEEMS TO BE MASKING ISSUE FREQUENCY. CALLED NISS CON AFFAIRS-CASE36982668. RENEE' WAS NO HELP. REFUSED TO UPDATE CASE OR CALL DEALERSHIP. HAD MY NAME WRONG, ELUSIVE AND SHORT ON PHONE. WORRIED ISSUE NOT GIVEN PROPER CREDENCE; DESPITE DEFECT AND SAFETY CONCERNS.
2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 43,000 MILES FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS VEHICLE HAS GIVING US PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. I WOULD START TO ACCELERATE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP AND THE PATHFINDER WOULD ONLY MOVE AT A SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN IDLE SPEED UNTIL I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THEN ONCE AGAIN ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. OTHER TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING AT A SPEED ABOVE 20 MILES PER HOUR AND THE PATHFINDER WILL NO LONGER ACCELERATE PAST THE CURRENT SPEED NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL I TAP THE BRAKE AND THEN THE ACCELERATOR. I ALSO NOTICED THAT SOME TIMES WHEN ONE OF THESE EVENTS HAPPENS, THE SLIP LIGHT INDICATOR WILL COME ON AND STAY ON UNTIL THE PATHFINDER IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THIS ISSUE CAN HAPPENS RANDOMLY. THIS VEHICLE IS USED TO TRANSPORT MY KIDS TO SCHOOL & ALMOST GOT INTO A COUPLE OF ACCIDENTS DUE TO VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING FAST ENOUGH. WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE VEHICLE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS NOW.
VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE (NO THROTTLE RESPONSE) RANDOMLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. RPMS DO NOT BUDGE DESPITE PEDAL BEING TO THE FLOOR. PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED. SHIFTING VEHICLE I TO NEUTRAL BRIEFLY AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE SEEMS TO RESOLVE PROBLEM, BUT THIS ISN'T AT ALL SAFE TURNING INTO IN AN INTERSECTION WITH CARS COMING. SEEMS KIND OF RIDICULOUS THIS ISN'T A BIG DEAL TO AN OEM.
FOR APPROXIMATELY THE LAST MONTH THERE HAD BEEN A SHIMMY ON THE FRONT END. WHEN TAKING IT TO BE SERVICED AT THE NISSAN DEALER THERE WERE 13690 MILES ON THE CAR. THE CAR IS PRIMARILY DRIVEN LOCALLY A COUPLE OF TIMES WEEKLY BECAUSE THE OWNER WORKS FROM HOME. THE SERVICE CENTER CAME BACK AND SAID THERE WERE NO FRONT BRAKES LEFT AND WAS SURPRISED WE HAD GOTTEN IN. WHEN ASKED HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN AFTER SO FEW MILES THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE DRIVER MUST HAVE A HEAVY FOOT. THE DRIVER IS A 59 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO ONLY DRIVES LOCALLY. THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. NISSAN CORPORATE WAS CONTACTED. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER CAME BACK AND STATED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID MAY HAVE BROKEN DOWN. BOTH EXPLANATIONS ARE IMPLAUSIBLE. A REGIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER CALLED TODAY AND GAVE NO OTHER EXPLANATION BUT STATED SINCE THE CAR WAS 14 MONTHS PAST WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE. WE HAVE SINCE CONTACTED TWO ACQUAINTANCES WHO ARE MECHANICS AND BOTH SAID NISSAN'S EXPLANATION IS NOT PLAUSIBLE. THIS AFFECTED ONLY THE FRONT BRAKES AND THE CALIPERS WERE UNAFFECTED. WE CAN SEND A COPY OF THE SERVICE BILL IF NEEDED.
LOSS OF POWER WHILE IN MOTION FROM A 35 MPH ZONE AND WENT DOWN TO 20 MPH RELEASE GAS PEDAL AND REGAINED POWER. I SEE THE SAME ISSUE REPORTED OTHER POSTS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE THE LOSS OF LIFE.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ON WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. AT SEVERAL POINTS, THE ACCELERATOR STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING, THIS HAPPENED ON A FOUR-LANE STREET AND ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS.
VEHICLE BEGAN ISSUES WITH NO ACCELERATION AFTER COMING OFF OF THE BRAKES. HAS TO DOUBLE TAP BRAKES TO GET VEHICLE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE. THEN IT PROGRESSED INTO THE TAIL LIGHTS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, WHICH WOULD IN TURN DRAIN THE BATTERY. THEN IT PROGRESSED ONCE AGAIN INTO THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AS IT WAS NOT SENSING THE BRAKE BEING DEPRESSED ON A PUSH TO START IGNITION SYSTEM. THE FIX WAS FAULTY RELAYS KNOWN IN PRIOR YEARS FROM 2013-2014 SAME FAULT IN 2015 MODEL BUT NO ACTIVE RECALL. SECOND ISSUE WHEN A/C SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED THERE'S A VIBRATION COMING OFF OF THE FAN ASSEMBLY WHICH CAUSES A LOUD SOUND HEARD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. ALSO A SEPARATE RECALL ON 2013-2014 PATHFINDER BUT DOES NOT COVER THE 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER.
MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AFTER DEALER SERVICE FOR 80,000 MILES. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT ACCELERATION ISSUES WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC OR STARTING FROM A FULL STOP. LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION IN THOSE SITUATIONS. OTHER ISSUES THAT CAME UP AT THE SAME TIME INCLUDE: A) INTERMITTENT BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ON WITH VEHICLE PARKED AND POWERED OFF AND B) INTERMITTENT SKID WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATING FOR NO REASON.
THE COOLING FAN STARTED MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE AT AROUND 48,000 MILES. THE NOISE WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE FAN KICKED ON. THE FAN WAS STARTING TO SEPARATE FROM THE BEARING. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY WOULDN'T COVER IT. I TOLD THEM MANY OTHER NISSANS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD PUT MY COMPLAINT ON FILE. I HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW FAN OUT OF POCKET.
THE CAR ONLY HAS 22,000 MILES AND THE CENTER DUAL COOLING FAN HAS ALREADY STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE UNFORTUNATELY AS A 2015 THESE VEHICLES IS OUT OF WARRANTY I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT SEEMS THAT IT'S BECOME A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAS NOT BEING ON RECALL YET MULTIPLE PEOPLE ARE ALSO COMPLAINING AS THEY REPLACE THE PART AND IT GOES BAD WITHIN MONTHS SO IT SEEMS THIS IS A ENGINEERING PROBLEM
IN THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS, I AM EXPERIENCING LOSS OF ACCELERATION FOR MY NISSAN PATHFINDER 2015 (33,000 MILES). FOR SOME REASONS, THERE IS NO ACCELERATION NOR RPM INCREASED WHEN I FLOORED THE GAS PEDAL FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AFTER RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL (COASTING) DUE TO TRAFFIC STOPS OR WANT TO MAKE A TURN OR AFTER FULL STOP. THE CAR WAS COASTING AROUND 20 MPH AND DIDN'T ACCELERATE.
