I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I HAD MY TRANSMISSION CHANGED UNDER WARRANTY AFTER TWO YEARS AND 8 MONTHS LATER I'VE STARTED TO HAVE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS AND THE BREAK LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. USUALLY AFTER A COMPLETE STOP OR YIELDING I CAN PUSH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT THE CAR TURNED OFF THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. ONE WEEK LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATION AND WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND TOLD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR 4 DAYS AND ONCE AGAIN STATED THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. TWO DAYS AFTER PICKING THE CAR UP, IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING. ONCE AGAIN I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATION AND LEFT THEM A MESSAGE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS SURPRISED THAT THEY TOLD ME I COULDN'T BRING THE CAR IN, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I SUBMIT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD FORCE NISSAN TO RECALL ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED WITH NO ACCELERATION.
COOLING FAN ON RADIATOR VIBRATING WHEN HEAT OR AC TURNED ON.
I JUST PURCHASED A USED 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 24,000 MILES THREE MONTHS AGO. IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. I WOULD START TO ACCELERATE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP AND THE PATHFINDER WOULD ONLY MOVE AT A SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN IDLE SPEED UNTIL I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THEN ONCE AGAIN ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. OTHER TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING AT A SPEED ABOVE 20 MILES PER HOUR AND THE PATHFINDER WILL NO LONGER ACCELERATE PAST THE CURRENT SPEED NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL I TAP THE BRAKE AND THEN THE ACCELERATOR. I ALSO NOTICED THAT SOME TIMES WHEN ONE OF THESE EVENTS HAPPENS, THE SLIP LIGHT INDICATOR WILL COME ON AND STAY ON UNTIL THE PATHFINDER IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THIS ISSUE CAN HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN ONE DAY OR NOT AT ALL FOR SEVERAL DAYS. I WAS ALMOST T-BONED TODAY WHILE CROSSING A STREET WHEN I HAD NO POWER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG.
ENGINE RATTLING, TURNED OUT TO BE A FAULTY RADIATOR COOLING FAN. NEEDED TO REPLACE WHOLE FAN ASSEMBLY AFTER 50,000 MILES. INTERMITTENTLY BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON WHEN CAR IS PARKED, DRAINING THE BATTERY. PERHAPS A BRAKE RELAY SWITCH. ALSO INTERMITTENTLY, THE VEHICLE HAS SEVERE ISSUES ACCELERATING. IF GOING 40 MPH, AND ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE, THERE IS LITTLE TO NO RESPONSE. FROM FULL STOP, THERE IS OCCASIONALLY NO RESPONSE AT ALL UNTIL RELEASING AND REAPPLYING THE GAS PEDAL. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!
BREAK LIGHTS WILL STAY ON EVEN IF THE CAR IS PARKED. IT WILL STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO DEPRESS BRAKE PEDAL TWICE. THE OTHER ISSUE IS LOSS OF POWER. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT GO WHEN I PUSH THE GAS. EVEN IF THE ACCELERATOR IS FULLY DEPRESSED THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND THERE WAS LOSS OF POWER.
THREE TIMES THIS WEEK WE HAVE TRIED TO ACCELERATE OUR VEHICLE WITH NO RESPONSE. IN ADDITION, THREE TIMES THIS WEEK THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE STAYED ON AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF. THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON UNTIL YOU OPERATE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THE ONE DAY WE DIDNT NOTICE FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES. I HAVE READ THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR THE 2013 AND 2014 BRAKE RELAY SWITCH SO I'M THINKING THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE.
FROM A COMPLETE STOP MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FASTER THAN 10 MPH. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES NOW. THE FIRST TIME I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND WHEN IT WAS TIME TO ACCELERATE, I WAS UNABLE TO EVEN PRESSING THE GAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND BRAKE, THEN HIT THE GAS AND IT WAS ABLE TO GO AGAIN. THE NEXT TIME WAS AFTER BRAKING AT A STOP SIGN. THE THIRD TIME WAS AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT. I HAD HEAVY TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND I COULD ONLY GO 10 MPH. I EVEN NOTICED AFTER I PARKED MY CAR AND GOT OUT OF IT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE STILL ON AS IF SOMEONE WAS SITTING THERE PRESSING THE BRAKE-WHICH WASN'T THE CASE AT ALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAD MY CHILD IN THE CAR ALL THREE TIMES AND IM LUCKY I DID NOT GET REAR ENDED.
"TAKATA RECALL" THE CAR LOST POWER INTERMITTENTLY. IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IN STATIONARY ON A CITY STREET AS WELL AS HIGHWAYS.
BREAK LIGHTS WILL STAY ON EVEN IF THE CAR IS PARKED. IT WILL STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR THE BREAK LIGHTS TO GO OFF. REDICULOUS! THE OTHER ISSUE IS LOSS OF POWER. USUALLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE SKID DUMMY LIGHT WILL TURN ON AND STAY ON. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT GO WHEN I PUSH THE GAS. EVEN IF THE ACCELERATOR IS FULLY DEPRESSED THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND THERE WAS LOSS OF POWER. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN INTO SEVERAL ACCIDENTS WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND FROM MY RESEARCH I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF PATHFINDER THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. THIS IS A TOTAL SAFETY ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOME ONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED!!!
COOLING FAN VIBRATION NOISE IN DRIVING AND STATIONARY MODE.
MY VEHICLE HAS 47000 MILES ON IT AND THE FAN HAS FAILED CAUSING NOISE WHEN EITHER THE HEAT OR AC IS TURNED ON. I SEE THAT IT IS A COMMON COMPLAINT
AT LESS THAN 41,000 MILES, THE BEARINGS IN THE DUAL RADIATOR AND CONDENSER FAN ASSEMBLY ARE WORN AND THE FAN ASSEMBLY SHAKES WHEN THE FANS TURN ON. IF THE FANS BREAK WHILE DRIVING, IT MAY DAMAGE THE ENGINE OR CAUSE THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. MANY OWNERS OF THIS NISSAN MODEL HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE OCCURRING AT 30,000 - 60,000 MILES. THE FAN ASSEMBLY APPEARS TO BE UNRELIABLE.
I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE STALLING OUT. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND NO PROBLEM COULD'VE BEEN FOUND UNTIL THE LAST TIME. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE BRAKES WOULD COME ON AUTOMATICALLY. THEY BELIEVE IT WAS A SENSOR PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL COMES ON RANDOMLY GOING DOWN THE ROAD OR AT A STOP LIGHT CAUSING THE CAR NOT TO ACCELERATE MAKING THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME CAR ONLY HAS 65000 MILES ON IT AFRAID GONNA GET HIT FROM NO ACCELERATION
DURING NORMAL OPERATION, RADIATOR COOLING FAN MAKES A BUZZING NOISE WHEN HVAC SYSTEM IS TURNED ON TO ANY SETTING. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, PASSENGER SIDE RADIATOR FAN IS OFF BALANCE, CAUSING VIBRATION AND BUZZING SOUND. WITH VEHICLE TURNED OFF, FAN BLADE WAS VERIFIED LOSS. THE VEHICLE HAS 30,200 MILES. DURING MY RESEARCH, I HAVE NOTICED MANY SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE SAME VEHICLE BETWEEN 30,000 AND 50,000 MILES. WITH A BACKGROUND IN AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE AND QUALITY ENGINEERING, IT IS MY OPINION THAT THE AMOUNT OF VIBRATION IS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO EVENTUALLY CONTACT THE RADIATOR OR BREAK LOOSE, POSSIBLY CAUSING A COOLANT LEAK OR OTHER UNDERHOOD DAMAGE.
COOLING FAN BEARINGS HAVE GONE BAD TWICE IN 75000 MILES. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS STILL IN WARRANTY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME AND IT IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AND NISSAN NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE. THANKS
THE COOLANT FAN IS DEFECTIVE MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE. I ONLY HAVE 26000 MILES AND NOW HAVE TO REPLACE A EXPENSIVE PART. UNFORTUNATELY WARRANT RAN OUT BECAUSE OF AGE OF CAR. IT WAS SITTING AT AN IDLE AND SUDDENLY THEN STARTED CLANGING VERY LOUDLY.
COOLING FAN FAILURE
MY CVT TRANSMISSION IS SO LOUD THAT I WAS ALMOST T BONED BY A FIRE TRUCK BECAUSE I COULD NOT HEAR THE SIRENS. PLEASE HELP!
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AFTER BRAKING FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, OFTEN I CANNOT GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE PAST 10 MPH. I SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, BACK INTO DRIVE, AND CAN ACCELERATE PROPERLY. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO WOLFCHASE NISSAN IN BARTLETT, TN. THEY ARE UNABLE TO RELOCATE THE PROBLEM, THUS PREVENTING THEM FROM ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. THIS HAPPENS IF I'M STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, ALSO IF I AM MAKING A TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME, BUT OFTEN ENOUGH TO BE CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.
IN 2017 I STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THIS ISSUE CAN HAPPEN 10 TIMES IN ONE DAY OR NOT AT ALL FOR SEVERAL DAYS. IN 2017 I FOUND A LOT OF PATHFINDER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ONLINE, SO I TOOK IT TO NISSAN D'PATRICK IN EVANSVILLE, IN. I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND SPENT A COUPLE OF HOURS IN THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THEY ADJUSTED A FEW THINGS BUT COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY PROBLEM ALONG THE LINES OF WHAT I WAS TELLING THEM. I WENT BACK TO D'PATRICK LETTING THEM KNOW THAT WHATEVER THEY ADJUSTED DID NOT WORK. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC AND THE PATHFINDER NOT ACCELERATING.I HAVE LEARNED TO BE PATIENT WHEN TURNING ON TO A BUSY STREET BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE PATHFINDER WILL NOT PERFORM THE SIMPLE DUTY OF ACCELERATING. THIS VEHICLE IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK TO MY FAMILY AND OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. I MET SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM LOCALLY AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE FILED A COMPLAINT ON NISSAN AND HAD THE DEALERSHIP PULL UP ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS AND THEY ADMITTED THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY HAVE A WORK AROUND FOR THE ISSUE BY BYPASSING A HARNESS SYSTEM.
WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE STALLS. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. BREAK LIGHT SWITCH RELAY.ALREADY A PREVIOUS RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING MY PATHFINDER ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND ROADS, I WOULD BE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, TURNING ONTO A ROAD AND JUST TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE OFTEN LOSES ALL POWER AND DECELERATES. I HAVE PLACED THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, AND YET HAVE NO POWER. IT TAKES AT LEAST 10-15 SECONDS TO REGAIN POWER AND BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. OFTEN TIMES I'VE BEEN CLOSE TO BEING REAR ENDED, ESPECIALLY ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS, WITH MY 2 MONTH OLD NIECE IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME BY TRACTOR TRAILERS. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND ANYONE IN THE CAR WITH ME, AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS WHO HAVE POTENTIAL TO REAR END ME AS I LOSE POWER. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON ROUTE 70 IN NEW STANTON, PA, ROUTE 119 (SEVERAL PARTS) IN GREENSBURG, PA, VARIOUS LOCATIONS ON ROUTE 30 IN GREENSBURG, PA, CAMEO LANE, GREENSBURG, PA, TWIN LAKES PARK, AND GEORGE'S STATION ROAD IN GREENSBURG, PA, AS WELL AS ROUTE 217 IN DERRY, PA AND INDIANA, PA. THIS WAS TAKEN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN GREENSBURG, PA TWINCE FOR THE SAME ISSUE, AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE, BUT CLAIMED THE FIRST TIME IT WAS IN, THAT IT WAS A FAULTY BRAKE SWITCH, AND REPLACED IT FOR $217.00. THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND IT WAS BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK LATER. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL WEBSITES, INCLUDING A NEWS STATION THAT COVERED THIS ISSUE (WITH A FATAL ACCIDENT) AND NISSAN HAS NEVER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IN ANY OF THE CASES.
THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY, ROAR AND MAKE A VERY LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. I HAD JUST STARTED THE ENGINE AND IT WAS IN MY GARAGE AND STATIONARY. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE CAR OFF. LATER THAT DAY, MY HUSBAND STARTED THE CAR AGAIN WITHOUT ISSUE. HE PULLED OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY AND PROCEEDED LESS THAN 100 YARDS DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE NOISE AND SHAKING STARTED AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALER WHO STATED IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE COOLING FAN (CONFIRMED BY DIAGNOSIS AT SAME DEALER) THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 19, 2019 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AT THE INTERCEPTION OF ROSCOE AND WOODMAN AVE. IN PANORAMA CITY, CALIFORNIA AND WHEREAS WITH NO WARNING NOR ANY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN I TRIED TO QUICKLY ACCELERATE BUT INSTEAD THE TRANSMISSION STALLED AND ENDED UP THRUSTING THE VEHICLE FORWARD ONLY TO LEAVE ME THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERCEPTION AND EXPOSED TO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND OF WHICH IT CAME TO SCREECHING STOP AND LITERALLY COMING WITHIN INCHES OF POSSIBLY T-BONING OUR VEHICLE AND OR CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
I PURCHASED A USED 2015 PATHFINDER. IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES IN 7 MONTHS. TRANSMISSION ISSUE, JERKING THE CAR...IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION..PART INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. THE GEAR SHIFTER WENT OUT & NOW THE FAN. OF COURSE I'VE HAD TO FIGHT WITH NISSAN AFFAIRS AND THEY ARE ONLY WILLING TO PAY 60%! AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL!
THE COOLING FAN/RADIATOR FAN IS MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE. IT'S SOUNDS LIKE THE FAX IS UNSTABLE AND STRIKING OTHER PARTS OF THE VEHICLE.DEALER SAID IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR IT WILL CAUSE PERMANENT/ CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND POSSIBLY INJURY IT'S OCCUPANTS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER,3 MONTHS AGO. IT ONLY HAS 37,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE SEEN ONLINE THAT THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT TO THIS VEHICLE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CALLING FOR A RECALL ON THIS PART IMMEDIATELY.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the liftgate failed to latch correctly due to the release button being fractured inwardly. Due to the failure, the release button failed to respond appropriately whenever activated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the release button needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
NOTICED A RATTLING COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT TOWARDS THE FROM OF MY VEHICLE WHEN IN THE DRIVE THRU. TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP. BEARINGS IN THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN HAVE FAILED REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MECHANIC WILL CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE DUE TO FAN BREAKING APART AND PIECES GOING INTO ENGINE. SEARCHING ONLINE SHOWS THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM HAPPENING AT 30-70K MILES ON THESE VEHICLES.
I HEARD A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND THEY SAID THE BEARINGS ON THE RADIATOR FAN ARE BAD CAUSING THE FAN TO WOBBLE AND STRIKE AGAINST THE SHROUD. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW AND HAS 52,700 MILES ON IT. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. IF NOT REPLACED THE FAN CAN BREAK INTO PIECES AND CAUSE OTHER COSTLY ENGINE REPAIRS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE PART.
ENGINE COOLING FAN MAKES LOUD NOISE WHEN THE AC/HEAT IS TURNED ON. AND STOPS WHEN THE AC/HEATS TURNS OFF. ONLY 42,000 MILES. FAN SEEMS TO WOBBLE A BIT
THE COOLING/RADIATOR FAN MAKES A RATTLING NOISE WHEN THE A/C IS ON, THIS STARTED AFTER THE CAR REACHED 60,000 MILES. SEEMS LIKE A COMMON THING ON PATHFINDERS AFTER REACHING 60+ MILES.
I PURCHASED MY NISSAN IN AUGUST OF 2018. IT ONLY HAD A LITTLE OVER 23K MILES. ON 12/22/2018 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BARON NISSAN WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCEL WHEN SPEED WAS BELOW 20 MILES PER HOUR. IF I ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN AND THEN BEGIN TO ACCEL AGAIN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. IT JUST ROLLS AS I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL MANY TIMES. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BEGIN TO ACCEL. THE DEALER ADVISED THE STOP LAMP SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I LEFT WITH THE VEHICLE AND THEN TWO DAYS LATER I BEGAN TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. IT IS RANDOM AND YOU NEVER CAN TELL WHEN IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO GET ON A HIGHWAY OR MAKING A LEFT TURN AND THE CAR DOESN'T ACCELERATE. CAR WENT BACK TO BARON NISSAN ON 12/29/2018. THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED, DRIVEN PERSONALLY BY SERVICE MANAGER AND I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ERROR CODE STATING WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. NOW I HAVE REVIEWED THIS SITE AND SEE 3 OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. NOW I HAVE RECORDED MY CAR SLIP LIGHT BEING ON MORE THAN ON ONE OCCASION, MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND I BEGIN TO FEEL THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING. IM TRYING TO TEACH MY SON HOW TO DRIVE AND CAR WOULD NOT ACCEL AS HE WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN. THIS PROBLEM IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NISSAN NEEDS TO GET A PERMINANT FIX IMMEDIATELY. AT THIS TIME MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 29K MILES AND I WILL BE REPORTING PROBLEM TO NISSAN CORPORATE
ON 12/22/18 WE WERE LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD BANGING/CLICKING NOISE FROM THE COOLING FAN ON THE DRIVER SIDE. HAVE TAKEN IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THAT THE ENTIRE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SPOKE WITH CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PART FOR 12-13 NISSAN PATHFINDERS, BUT NOT FOR THE 2015S. THEY GAVE ME A QUOTE OF $730.00 PLUS TAXES TO REPAIR. DON'T KNOW IF VEHICLE CAN EVEN BE DRIVEN BECAUSE IT IS UNKNOWN AS TO WHAT THE FAN IS BUMPING AGAINST. DEALER SAID IF IT IS BUMPING AGAINST THE RADIATOR, IT COULD CAUSE A LEAK OR SEVERE DAMAGE. IF THE FAN BLADES ARE HITTING SOMETHING ELSE, THEY COULD BREAK AND COULD CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE. WE WOULD NEED TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED ABOUT 60 MILES TO DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE FAN ASSEMBLY.
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN 2015. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 39,400. VERY RECENTLY THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN HAS STARTED MAKING RATTLING NOISE AND IT APPEARS WOBBLE WHEN FAN IS RUNNING. I HAVE DONE LOT OF RESEARCH DURING THE LAST FEW DAYS OVER THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY NISSAN PATHFINDER OVER THE YEARS. ALSO, MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD IT AND MAKE COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN MANUFACTURERS DIRECTLY AND THEY REFUSE TO ADMIT IT AS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. IT'S A DESIGN FAILURE FOR SURE AND THE FAN CAN BREAK, AND MAY COME APART AND GO INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE NHTSA MADE THIS A GENERAL RECALL, SO NO OTHER PATHFINDER OWNER HAS TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. THIS IS BECOMING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
WHEN I TURN ON HEAT, THERE IS A RATTLING/GRINDING NOISE(LOAD) COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF CAR. THAT NOISE IS RELATED TO TURNING ON HEAT.

COOLING FAN STARTING MAKING NOISE AND IT APPEARS TO WOBBLE WHEN FAN IS RUNNING.
AFTER HEARING RATTLING UNDER THE HOOD, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FAN SHROUD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS COST IS OVER $900. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO CALL NISSAN TO ASK THEM TO PAY FOR THE PART. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THIS PART IS BREAKING IN ALMOST ALL NISSAN PATHFINDERS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 40,000 AND 60,000 MILES. MY CAR HAD ~54,000 MILES. I HAD TO FIGHT WITH NISSAN TO COVER THE COST OF THE PART. THEY ORIGINALLY ONLY WANTED TO COVER 80%, WHICH I FOUND TO BE UNACCEPTABLE, SINCE IT WAS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO ISSUE A RECALL SO NO ONE ELSE HAS TO GO THROUGH THIS TO GET THE PART FIXED. I WAS LUCKY MY DEALERSHIP WAS HONEST ABOUT THE PROBLEM BEING A WIDESPREAD PATHFINDER PROBLEM. I WOULD HATE FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO HAVE TO PAY SO MUCH MONEY FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

THAT IS MORE THAN THE COST OF A REGULAR WINDOW AC. PLEASE LOOK ONLINE FOR THE PROBLEM YOU WILL SEE MULTIPLES FORUMS COMPLAINING OF THIS. SOMETIMES PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FIX THEM IRREPLACEABLE THEM ON THEIR OWN AS NISSAN CHARGE MORE THAN 1000 THOUSAND TO FIX THIS. REPEAT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE DOING IT ON PURPOSE. FOR SURE THE FAN BLADES ARE OUT OF BALANCE, I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY BROKEN FAN BALDES OR TIPS. I'VE READ SOME COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PATHFINDER OWNERS AND IT SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT FROM NISSAN. SO FAR THE ISSUE SEEMS START HAPPENING AT AROUND 50K MILES AND UP. FOR THE FAN(S) TO GIVE OUT AT 50K MILES SEEMS TO ME A LITTLE MORE R&D SHOULD HAVE BEEN APPLIED. SO FAR I'VE ONLY SEEN THE 2015 MODELS WITH THE ISSUE. BY THE WAY, THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT... ALL FACTORY, UNTOUCHED... UNRELATED BUT DOES ANYONE ELSE'S ABS BRAKE UNIT MAKE A LOUD WHINING NOISE? I REMEMBER THE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW, THE NOISE WAS AT A BARE MINIMUM. AS THE MILES CLIMB UP SO DOES THE NOISE...
THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. COOLING FAN BEGAN TO MAKE WEIRD NOISES, HAD TO REPLACE COMPLETE FAN ASSEMBLY AFTER 40K MILES.
COOLING FAN-AFTER TURNING ON THE VEHICLE AND THE A/C A KNOCKING AND RATTLING NOISE CAME FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN I TOOK IT IN, THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT IS A "WARPED COOLING FAN" AND THAT IF IT BREAKS COMPLETELY WILL NOT COOL THE ENGINE AND WILL CAUSE THE ENGINE TO FAIL AS WELL. THE VEHICLE IS A 2015 WITH 54,000 MILES ON IT. WE ARE THE SECOND OWNERS AND HAVE OWNED IT FOR 1.5 YEARS. A VEHICLE WITH THIS MILEAGE AND AGE SHOULD NOT HAVE REPAIRS OF THIS MAGNITUDE.
I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE VISORS IN MY 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THEY ARE BOTH BROKE AND HANG DOWN IN FRONT OF MY LINE OF VISION. NISSAN WILL NOT REPAIR THESE. THE DEALERSHIP EVEN NOTED THAT NISSAN NEEDS TO DO A RECALL BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENT RATES. THE VISORS BOTH BROKE WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD TO HOLD THEM UP AND OUT OF THE WAY MAKING ME UTILIZE ONE HAND TO DRIVE.

ENGINE COOLING FAN IS MAKING A RACKET BOUNCING OFF OF SHROUD WHEN THE HEAT OR A/C IS TURNED ON. IT IS THE PASSENGER SIDE FAN. JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED AND ONLY HAS 50K. NICE VEHICLE, JUST WISH I DIDNT HAVE TO TURN AROUND AND MAKE REPAIRS THAT SHOULD NOT BE NEEDED.
