TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON JUNE 12 2006 WHILE CAR WAS PARKED HE ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE SEAT INTO THE SEAT WELL, TO DO THAT HE HAD TO PULL THE SEAT BACK FORWARD, AND SECURE IT WITH A STRAP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT WEIGHED APPROXIMATELY 70 LBS. THE CONTACT COULDN'T GET HIS HAND OUT OF THE STRAP, AND IT TOOK HIS HAND DOWN INTO THE WELL, AND THE BACK OF THE SEAT SEVERED THE INDEX FINGER OF HIS RIGHT HAND UP TO THE KNUCKLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STRAP ON THE BACK SEAT WAS THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. THE STRAP HAD A BIG RED WARNING SIGN ON THE BACK STRAP, AND THAT THE STRAP WAS MADE LONGER EVERY YEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAS ALL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THIS INCIDENT. HE DID NOT HAVE A POLICE REPORT, BUT HE HAD WITNESSES, MEDICAL REPORTS AND XRAYS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UNTIL THIS INCIDENT WITH THE STRAP HE WAS HAVING DIFFICULTIES WITH THE VEHICLE. *AK UPDATED 2/9/2007 - THE CONSUMER FOUND OUT THAT THE STRAPS ON THE NEW MODELS ARE LONG AND THERE IS WARNING LABEL ON THE BACK OF THE SEAT, *NM
SUN VISOR ON 2004 NISSAN QUEST IS NOT FOLDING ALL THE WAY TOWARDS TO WIND SHIELD. WHAT HAPPENS, LEFT SIDE OF THE VISOR MADE INCORRECTLY AND IT IS CATCHING THE SIDE COLUMB OF THE VEHICLE AND CONSEQUENTLY IT STAYS ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE. THIS IS A GREAT SAFETY CONCERN AND IT DOESN'T WORK WHEN SUN SHINES FROM THE FRONT SIDE
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN QUEST WHICH HAD A RECALL TO FIX A PROBLEM WHERE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR WOULD CAUSE AN AIRBAG TO STILL DEPLOY EVEN IF A CHILD WAS SITTING IN THAT SEAT. AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED, MY "PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLED" INDICATOR REMAINS ON EVEN WITH AN ADULT (WEIGHT 105LBS) IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. WE HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPORT THAT THE MANUFACTURER SAYS THIS IS HOW IT IS INTENDED TO WORK AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE IS AT RISK WHEN I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE SINCE THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY DURING AN ACCIDENT WHEN SHE IS RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
PASSENGER AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. BILL RAY NISSAN OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA IS UNWILLING TO FIX.
DURING HOT TEMPS, LEFT AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR WON'T CLOSE, OPENS BACK UP, REVERSES WITHOUT INPUT COMMAND. ON ONE OCCASION, OPENED UP ON ITS OWN WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT ABOUT 25 MPH.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN QUEST. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CLOSES BY ITSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. INITIALLY, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE SLIDING DOOR. NEXT, SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. SHE WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE DOOR BAR WAS BENT. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE DOOR, BUT IT NEVER WORKED PROPERLY. OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE AT ALL. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE THE DOOR, IT WOULD DROP TO THE GROUND AND RECEIVED SCRATCHES AND DENTS. SHE HAS BEEN MANUALLY CLOSING THE DOOR BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT CLOSE WITH THE REMOTE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. UPDATED01/02/08*LJ
SECOND ROW BUCKET SEAT CAUGHT MY RIGHT RING FINGER IN THE FORWARD/BACK MECHANISM. MY FINGER WAS NEARLY SEVERED AT THE FINGERNAIL WHICH RESULTED IN A BROKEN BONE IN THE TIP OF MY FINGER AND 3 STITCHES IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM. *AK
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN QUEST. SAFETY DEFECT WERE THE SIDE PANELS. THEY JUST FEEL INTO THE STREET. PASSENGER SIDE PANELS FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN APRIL, 2005. NO CRASHES INVOLVED. NO POLICE OR FIRE REPORTS TAKEN.*AK
2004 NISSAN QUEST SL WITH CONSTANT STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION FROM FRONT WHEELS WHEN DRIVING 60+MPH. ALL 4 TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED BY A NISSAN DEALER 3 TIMES AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. THE TIRE PRESSURE IS CHECKED TO BE FINE, AND PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING. *JB
COMPLAINT REGARDING 2004 NISSAN QUEST TOW PACKAGE AND WIRING DESIGN FLAW.*MR THE CONSUMER STATED THE DIRECTIONAL LIGHTS ONLY BLINKED ONCE WHEN A TRAILER WAS CONNECTED TO AN AFTER MARKET WIRING HARNESS. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW THE TOW PACKAGE NEEDED TO BE ORDERED FROM THE FACTORY. *JB
NISSAN QUEST 2004 ROCK PLATE, WHICH GUARDS THE ENGINE HAD ALMOST COMPLETELY DETACHED. *BF IT WAS ONLY BEING HELD BY A PLASTIC SCREW. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A CONSTRUCTION SITE VEHICLE DROVE OVER AN ORANGE TRAFFIC CONE. IN THE PROCESS, IT PULLED DOWN A WIRE FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE, CAUSING IT TO SHUT DOWN. OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD THAT WHAT WAS BEING EXPERIENCED WAS NOT A MECHANICAL DEFECT, AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *AK THE CONSUMER BELIEVES A RECALL SHOULD BE INITIATED THAT WOULD PROVIDE PROTECTION FOR THE WIRING UNDER THE VEHICLE. *NM
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
CONSUMER EXPERIENCING DELAYS IN HAVING THE RECALL REPAIRS PERFORMED ON THE 2004 NISSAN QUEST.*MR THE CONSUMER RECEIVED 2 RECALL IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. THE LAST ON WAS RECEIVED JANUARY 2005 BUT THE DEALER HASN'T CONTACTED THEM TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM DUE TO LACK OF PARTS.
WE PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN QUEST WITH THE FULL WARRANTY PLAN. IN THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS, THE PASSENGER REAR HAS NOT STAYED INFLATED. THE REPRESENTATIVE AT YOUR CATHEDRAL CITY OFFICE CLAIMS THIS IS A STEM VALVE PROBLEM BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME $200 FOR THE PART PLUS $100/HR FOR LABOR AND BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT PROBLEM, WE COULD BE CHARGED FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR OF LABOR. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE AFOREMENTIONED SERVICE DEPARTMENT AS WELL AS NISSAN HEADQUARTERS (800-NISSAN-1) THAT THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PLAN AND THAT NISSAN WILL NOT ASSIST IN THIS REPAIR. IN THIS INSTANCE, THE NISSAN SALESMAN MISLED US WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PLAN, CLAIMING IT COVERED THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. WE ARE MOSTLY DISPLEASED WITH THIS BECAUSE WE ARE BEING ASKED TO FILL OUR TIRE WITH AIR SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK IF WE CONTINUE TO DRIVE OUR NISSAN QUEST, OR SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON THE VALVE REPAIR BECAUSE IT APPEARS NISSAN DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF NOT HAVING QUALITY PARTS IN THEIR TIRES, INTENTIONALLY OR UNINTENTIONALLY. *NM
THE CONSUMER NOTICED WHILE DRIVING, A ROTTEN SMELL WOULD COME IN FROM THE VENTS. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONSUMER INFORMED THE MECHANIC ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED. THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB THERE IS STILL A ROTTEN EGG SMELL COMING FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. ALSO THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM INDICATES A FLAT TIRE WHEN TIRE IS NOT FLAT. CONSUMER IS HAPPY WITH THE MINIVAN EXCEPT FOR THE SULFUR SMELL AND THE FALSE TIRE READINGS. *TT
INITIALLY RANDOM SQUEALING NOISES FROM ENGINE OCCURRED. LATER NOISE BECAME MORE FREQUENT WHEN CAR WAS SITTING IDLE. TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP, FOUND THAT DRIVE BELTS NEEDED REPLACING. CAR WAS UNDER 20K MILES. *JB
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A PROBLEM SINCE THE FIRST DAY I TOOK DELIVERY OF IT. IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE AC/HEATING SYSTEM. ON DAYS WHEN IT IS ABOVE 65 DEGREES HOT AIR CONTINUOUSLY BLOWS THROUGHOUT THE CENTER VENTS. I HAVE ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN. *JB
10/04 PURCHASED A NISSAN QUEST SL MINIVAN. TIRES ON IT ARE GOODYEAR EAGLE LS2 SIZE 225/65-HR16. LATE 12/04 OR EARLY 1/05 NOT ABLE TO NAVIGATE A 15 DEGREE GRADE IN 3 INCHES SNOW. CONTACTED DEALER TO NO AVAIL. CONTACTED NISSAN. TOLD TO CONTACT GOODYEAR. GOODYEAR SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE THE TIRES WITH A BETTER TIRE, BUT IN A DIFFERENT SIZE, AS ONLY TIRE MADE IN THE ORIGINAL SIZE WAS AND IS A GOODYEAR EAGLE LS2. THIS ACTION HOWEVER HAD TO HAVE BLESSING OF NISSAN. NISSAN BALKED STATING IF I CHANGED TIRE SIZE AND ANYTHING HAPPENED THAT THEY DETERMINED WAS CAUSED BY TIRE SIZE CHANGE, THE "WARRANTY" WOULD BE VOID ON THE VEHICLE. I WAS NAIVE AND BOUGHT THIS. BUT ALL THE WHILE, THE DEALER, NISSAN AND GOODYEAR SAID THEY HAD NO SUCH PROBLEMS WITH THIS TIRE. NOW TWO YEARS DOWN THE ROAD I FIND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDS THIS ISSUE AND MORE, ONE OF WHICH THE TIRES WEAR OUT PREMATURELY, AND AND "H" RATED TIRE ON A MINIVAN IS REDUNDANT. FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED MY WIFE WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR KILLED. YET NISSAN AND/OR GOODYEAR ARE NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR AN ENGINEERING/DESIGN FLAW, THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. GOODYEAR SHOULD HAVE TO MANUFACTURER OTHER TIRES IN THIS SIZE AND IN AN "H" RATING SO BUYERS/OWNERS PRESENT AND PAST HAVE A CHOICE WHEN REPLACING. WE CAN GO TO A 235/60-16 IN A "T" RATED TIRE THAT HAS MUCH BETTER RATINGS THAN THE ORIGINALS AND/OR OTHER "H" RATED TIRES IN THE NEW SIZE. BUT DEALERS AND TIRE MANUFACTURERS THROUGH COLLUSION ARE TRYING TO DISCOURAGE REPLACING THESE WITH "T" RATED TIRES. INSTEAD INSISTING THEY BE REPLACED WITH "H" RATED TIRES, THAT ARE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE, AND HAVE ONLY SIMILAR TRACTION RATINGS WITH REGARD TO HYDROPLANING, WET, LIGHT AND HEAVY SNOW THAT DO THE ORIGINALS. THE NHTSA SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN ON THIS LIKE STINK ON CRAP, BUT I FAIL TO SEE ANY MENTION OF ANY SUCH INVESTIGATION ON YOUR WEB SITE. COME ON, DOESN'T OUR TAX DOLLARS PAY FOR THIS? *JB
NISSAN QUEST 2004 HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 5 TIMES. TIRE PROBLEMS, CONSOLE LIGHTS (POSSIBLE SHORT) AND REAR INTERIOR LIGHTS. *BF THE AIR CONDITIONER FAILED, THE DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS CONTINUOUSLY LOSING AIR. *JB
PRIOR TO A RECALL BY NISSAN HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG SYSTEM. AFTER NISSAN RECALIBRATED THE ODS, THE "AIR BAG OFF" SIGN FREQUENTLY LIGHTS UP WHEN MY WIFE IS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. SHE WEIGHS 125 LBS. ALTHOUGH THE RECALL NOTICE SAID THAT THE SEAT IS ADJUSTED FOR 6-YEAR CHILDREN, I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE ODS IS ADJUSTED FOR A 95-100 LB PERSON. AT THIS TIME I AM WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO INFORM ME AS TO WHETHER NISSAN WILL READJUST THE ODS.*AK
NISSAN QUEST 2004 WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 20 MPH. PASSENGER SIDE POWER DOOR OPENED ON ITS OWN; VEHICLE LOST POWER ON INCLINE. *BF THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD NOISE, BUT A BRACKET ON THE EXHAUST WAS FIXED TO CORRECT THE NOSIE. *JB
CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO OPEN OR CLOSE THE REAR SLIDING DOOR IN COLD WEATHER. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
WE GOT THE CAR IN DEC 2003. BETWEEN FEB 2004 AND APRIL 2004 THE CAR HAD 5-6 HARD STARS; IN MOST CASES IT TOOK LESS THAN 5 MINUTES TO HAVE IT STARTED AND ONLY ONE TIME MORE THAN AN HOUR. I LEFT IT THERE AND CAME BACK AFTER 5 H.---IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY. ALL THIS HAPPENED IN HOUSTON TX.. DEC 20 2004 IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE IN PENNSYLVANIA, SECOND DAY OF OUR HOLYDAY VACATION. I?VE TRIED TO START IT FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS, UNTIL THE BATTERY WENT DEAD. FINALLY THE DEALER PICKED IT UP. AFTER ABOUT 10 DAY THE NISSAN ?TRAINED? AUTO MECHANIC COMES UP WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC: ?NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR, YOU JUST FLOODED! IT IS NOT GOING TO BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY!? YOU DON?T HAVE TO BE A MECHANIC TO KNOW THAT AN INJECTION ENGINE CAN?T BE FLOODED UNLESS THE CAR HAS A PROBLEM ( NO SPARKING, INJECTORS LICKS, OFF TIMING?). SAME CAR THE RADIO/CD SOMETIMES JUST WON?T PLAY; THE POWER IS ON BUT NO SOUND. USUALLY AFTER 5- 10 MINUTES WILL GO ON. THE REAR AC FAN CAME LOOSE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. (AT LEAST THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT COULD AND HAD BEEN FIXED!) NICE CAR BUT I HAVE TO FILE FOR LEMON. I PAY FOR A NEW CAR AND I EXPECT IT TO START WHEN I NEED IT NOT WHEN IT ?FEELS LIKE?*AK
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. *JB
NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 04V186000 CONCERNING POWER SLIDING DOORS. ITHAS BEEN OVER SIXTY DAYS AND THE DEALER DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE.*AK
NHTSA CAMPAIGN 04V103000; NISSAN ISSUED AN AIR BAG SENSOR RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, BUT THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AS THOSE VEHICLES THAT WERE RECALLED THE LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ON. *JB

THE DOOR NEITHER STOPPED NOR RETRACTED, BUT SHUT TIGHTLY AND COMPLETELY ON CHILD'S LEFT HAND. *BF THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE DOOR WORKED FINE AND BLAMED TO CONSUMER FOR NOT KEEPING THE CHILD HAND AWAY FROM THE CLOSING DOOR. *NM *SC
THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE DOORS FAILED TO OPEN OR LOCK WHEN APPLIED. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE CONSUMER INFORMED THE MECHANIC THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED MORE THAN ONCE, AND HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *AK THE DOORS HAD BEEN FIXED TWICE TO HAVE THE DOORS FIXED, THE LEFT SIDE PASSENEGER DOOR AGAIN AND STARTED CLOSING BY ITSELF, AND THE DOORS HAD TO BE CLOSED MANUALLY. *SC
THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT THE WHEEL COVERS THAT PRESSED AGAINST THE VALVE STEMS. AFTER CHANGING THE POSITION OF THE WHEEL COVER, IT TURNED BACK TO PRESSING THE WHEEL COVER OVER THE VALVE STEM. THE CONSUMER WANTS A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER INDICATING THAT ALTHOUGH ITS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, HE WOULD LIKE AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THEY APPEAR THIS WAY. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
ON NOVEMBER 9, 2008 A FRIEND OF MY DAUGHTER WAS ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST HER MID ROW PASSENGER SEAT FORWARD AND HER LEFT MIDDLE FINGER WAS CRUSHED BY THE MECHANISM FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT OUT BY PUTTING THE SEAT BACK IN THE ORIGINAL POSITION. SHE WAS RUSHED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM WHERE AN XRAY WAS PERFORMED AND SHE HAS A BROKEN BONE AT THE FINGER TIP ALONG WITH A MUTILATED FINGER AND NAIL. THIS WAS VERY TRAUMATIC AND ALTHOUGH I HAVE OWNED MY NISSAN QUEST FOR ALMOST 5 YEARS, I WAS SHOCKED AT THE FIX THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE DONE. IT DOES NOT COVER THE MECHANISM ON THE HANDLE SIDE - ONLY THE REAR. THE IS AN EXTREMELY POOR REMEDY FOR THIS PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE THAT THIS HASN'T HAPPENED BEFORE NOW. *TR
THE GLASS SUN ROOF LEAKS, CAUING WATER TO ACCUMULATE IN THE REAL WELL. THIS ACCUMULATION OF WATER CAUSES THE AUTOMATIC LIFT GATE TO FAIL (SHORT OUT). THE SUN ROOF ALOS LEAKS INTO THE CAR PASSENGER AREA DRIPPING ON THE PASSENGERS IN THE MIDDLE ROW. THERE IS WATER DAMAGE SEEN ON THE INSIDE ROOF OF THE VAN & MAY CAUSE MOLD & MUST SMELL.**AK

DT: CALLER HAS HAD VAN FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND IN NOVEMBER 2004 THE BRAKES STARTED MAKING A NOISE AND VAN WOULD NOT RESPOND TO GIVING IT GAS. CALLER STATED THE RPMS REVVED, BUT THE VAN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CALLER SAID HER HUSBAND HIT THE BRAKE AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK. THE BRAKE ROTORS WARPED AND THE AXLE NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT UNIT ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS AND THEY WERE REBUILDING THE AXLE AND REPLACED TRANSMISSION SHIFT UNIT. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. THE CALLER WAS WAITING FOR THEM TO CALL HER BACK.*AK

04 V 186 000/POWER SLIDING DOOR: AFTER THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE MADE THE POWER SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT STAY LATCH/LOCK PROPERLY WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR. SOMETIMES THE DOOR NEEDED TO BE SLAMED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STAYED CLOSE/LOCK OR THE DOOR WOULD INTERMITTENTLY OPEN WHILE IN MOTION. *JB
AIR BAG SENSOR NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. *BF THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE AIR BAG. THE RECALL STATED INDIVIDUALS RIDING IN THE PASSENGER THAT ARE A CERTAIN WEIGHT (BETWEEN 100-120 POUNDS, IN SOME CASES THE AIR BAG MAY DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT NISSAN SHOULD ALSO BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE DRIVER WHO MAYBE 100-120 POUNDS AS WELL AND THAT THE AIR BAG COULD DEPLOY AS WELL. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HE WENT TO RETRIEVE THE VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE HE NOTICED THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON, WHEN HE HIS WIFE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS NOT ON WHEN THE CONSUMER LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER. *JB *JB
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT STAYS LIT INDICATING THAT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WHEN MY WIFE SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THIS CONDITION OCCURS 99 OUT OF 100 TIMES MY WIFE SITS IN THE SEAT. SHE IS PETITE AND WEIGHS BETWEEN 102 AND 103 POUNDS. I THINK THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I AM VERY CONCERNED. UNKNOWN WHEN THE EXACT START DATE WAS. NOTICED IT MORE AFTER THE RECALL. *JB
DT: THE CONSUMER OWNS A 2004 NISSAN QUEST. VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLED AND HESITATED. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ONCE , AND THE ABS SENSOR WAS ALSO REPLACED, NO ONE KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING WITH THE CAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER AGAIN FOR THE SAME ISSUES. AIRBAG ON THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE WAS RECALIBRATED VIA RECALL 04V103000 CONCERNING AIR BAG SENSOR. CURRENTLY, AIR BAG DID NOT BECOME ACTIVATED EVEN WHEN THE PASSENGER WEIGHED 125 LBS. CALIBRATIONS WERE IN SPECIFICATION, ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO DID NOT APPEAR TO BE TOO CONCERNED WHEN CONSUMER ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. *AK

MALFUNCTION OF SLIDING DOOR AND AIR BAG AFTER RECALL WORK WAS PERFORMED. *BF NEITHER OF THESE SYSTEMS HAD A PROBLEM PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE BEING TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. THE DEALER HAS AGREED TO LOOK AT THE SLIDING DOOR BUT REFUSES TO LOOK AT THE AIR BAG PROBLEM. *NM *TC *JB
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE SECOND-ROW SEAT BACK, I REACHED AROUND THE SEAT TO GRAB THE LEVER, AND MY PINKIE FINGER WAS CAUGHT IN THE SEAT MECHANISM. AT THE EMERGENCY ROOM, THEY DETERMINED THAT I HAD BROKEN MY FINGER AND MY NAIL HAD TO BE REMOVED BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN SLICED THROUGH. I HAVE LASTING NERVE DAMAGE AND THE BONE HAS NOT HEALED CORRECTLY. I WROTE A LETTER TO NISSAN DETAILING THIS EXPERIENCE - I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR AND AM AFRAID TO TRY TO USE ANY OF THE SEAT LEVERS AGAIN. HOWEVER, NISSAN HAS NOT RESPONDED, AFTER FOUR MONTHS. THIS DEFECT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.*AK
