HAVE 10,000 MILES ON MY 2004 NISSAN QUEST AND THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION 9/04. NOW TWO WEEKS LATER IT'S DOING THE SAME THING IT DID WHEN THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AND THEY WON'T PULL THE PAN.
VEHICLE LOST POWER WHENEVER IT WOULD DROP DOWN TO A LOWER SPEED OR COME TO A STOP POSITION. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT VEHICLE WAS PUTTING ITSELF INTO A SAFE MODE. CONSUMER WAS INSTRUCTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK, SWITCH OFF THE VEHICLE, AND RESTART IT WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT DEALER WAS UNABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM . MANUFACTURER HAS NO SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM.*AK
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP TRANSMISSION HESITATED BEFORE ACCELERATION. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS CONSUMER WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO SOLUTION FOR THIS DEFECT. THEY SHOULD PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND START OVER AGAIN.*AK

CONSUMER RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL 04V103000. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND RECALL FAILED. THE ADVANCED AIR BAG REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 208, OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION. AIR BAG FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS TO BE TURNED OFF WHEN CERTAIN OCCUPANTS, SUCH AS SMALL CHILDREN, WERE IN THE FRONT SEAT.*AK

NISSAN QUEST 2004 BUZZING/WHINING NOISE FROM TIMING CHAIN AREA AND CAUSE VAN TO STALL
TRANSMISSION SLIPS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. *AK DEALER DESCRIBES PROBLM AS TRANSMISSION GOING INTO THIRD GEAR DEFAULT. PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET. THE CONSUMER FILED VEHICLE UNDER THE FLORIDA LEMON LAW. *TC
I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE IN DEALER NEW NISSAN QUEST 2004, AND SINCE I BOUGHT HAD THE PROBLEM WHEN YOU STOP AND YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE THE TRANSMISSION STOCK WHEN I KEEP PRESS THE GAS ACCELERATE AFTER THE 40 MPH THE CAR START TO RESPOND REALLY SLOWLY. WHEN I DROP THE CAR TO SERVICE IN THE DEALER THE SERVICE PEOPLE SAID IS THIS PROBLEM DONT OCURR ALL THE TIME ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO IDENTIFY WHAT HAPPEN. THE LAST TIME HAPPEN MY CAR WENT TO DEALER IN TOWER BECAUSE DONT WANT TO RUN. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS VIBRATION IN FRONT WHEN I DRIVING I FEEL VIBRATION IN ALL THE FRONT AND WHEN I GOING TO STOP ITS MORE VIBRATION AND FEELING TERRIBLE. THE DEALER BALANCE MI TIRE 6 TIMES ALL READY IN ONE YEAR AND ALIGMENT AND ROTATE. I THINK ITS NO NORMAL THIS PROBLEM.*AK
THE CONSUMER NOTICED WHILE THE PASSENGER WAS SITTING INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE THE AIR BAG LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS DEACTIVATED BECAUSE THE PASSENGER WEIGHED 120 POUNDS. THE WEIGHT SENSOR ACTIVATED AND MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE CONSUMER INFORMED THE MECHANIC THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED MORE THAN ONCE AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
I PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN QUEST IN MAY 2004. HAD ISSUES WITH PERSISTENT RATTLES IN THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPT IN AUG 2004 FOR NISSAN'S "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION INITIATIVE" WHICH CORRESPONDS TO TSB NTB04-053. THIS CAMPAIGN WAS TO INSTALL A DOOR RATTLE KIT FIX IN ADDITION TO 2 OTHER ISSUES. AS A RESULT OF THE DOOR RATTLE KIT FIX INSTALLATION, BOTH OF MY SLIDING DOORS NOW RATTLE LOUDER THAN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR DID TO BEGIN WITH. *AK
WHENEVER AN OCCUPANT THAT WEIGHED OVER 120 POUNDS WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, WHICH RENDERED THE AIR BAG INOPERATIVE. THIS ONLY STARTED OCCURRING AFTER THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED AIRBAG SENSOR RECALL 04V103000 REPAIRS. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE THE OLD SENSOR BACK BECAUSE IT WAS WORKING FINE. *TC
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH SKYLIGHT WINDOW IMPLODED INTO THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE CHILDREN SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT.*AK
WE PURCHASED OUR 2004 NISSAN QUEST ON OCTOBER 6TH, 2003. THIS WAS A VEHICLE THAT WE WANTED TO GET FOR OUR FAMILY AFTER REVIEWING SAFETY INFORMATION ETC. NOT EVEN TWO WEEKS AFTER WE HAD FINALIZED THE SALE, TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS ALL OVER A PARKING LOT DUE TO A PLASTIC CLAMP NOT BEING REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP. OUR VAN WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP IN ORDER FOR EVERYTHING TO BE CHECKED OUT. OUR SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND WE ARE VERY LUCKY THAT THERE WEREN'T ANY INJURIES TO REPORT. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND WITH THE ACCELERATOR "FLOORED" OUR VAN WOULD NOT GO OVER 55 MPH. ON A MAIN HIGHWAY THIS IS NOT SAFE DUE TO OTHER DRIVERS DOING ABOVE THE SPEED LIMIT OR WELL ABOVE. WE TRIED TO TAKE IT TO OUR DEALERSHIP BUT WITH IT BEING PAST BUSINESS HOURS THERE WAS NO WAY THAT WE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MEET WITH A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS CAR AND CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IN LESS THAN A YEAR, WE ARE TAKING IT IN AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT WORKED ON. LUCKILY OUR DEALERSHIP HAS GONE ABOVE WHAT WE ASKED AND HAS DONE THEIR BEST TO WORK WITH US, BUT WITHOUT OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING AND THIS NOT BEING INVESTIGATED THERE IS LITTLE THAT THEY CAN DO TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM TO FIX IT. THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAR THAT WE HAVE BOUGHT EVER AND THIS IS THE MOST TIMES THAT WE HAVE TAKEN IN A CAR FOR PROBLEMS IN SUCH LITTLE TIME. WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN, WE THOUGHT THAT THIS VAN WOULD BE THE MOST ECONOMICAL AND SAFE VEHICLE THAT WE COULD AFFORD FOR OUR FAMILY, BUT WE ARE SADLY LEARNING THAT THERE ARE UNDERLYING PROBLEMS THAT NEED TO BE OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED AND TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS TO SOMEONE. IT WOULD BE DISAPPOINTING AND SAD TO SEE IF THIS OCCURRENCE IS WHAT IT TAKES FOR NISSAN TO INVESTIGATE SUCH COMPLAINTS. *JB
POWER SLIDING DOOR RETRACTION FEATURE FAILED. AS A RESULT, ONE OCCUPANT'S BODY WAS PINNED . DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL OPERATION. *AK (THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR) *SC *JB
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED ON THREE OCCASIONS. FIRST TIME IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. I HAD TO ALMOST FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL BEFORE IT BEGAN TO MOVE. IT FINALLY CORRECTED ITSELF AFTER A COUPLE MILES. THE SECOND EVENT, I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WELL, BUT WHEN THE PEDAL WAS RELEASED, THE ENGINE RPMS DROPPED TO IDLE, I WAS DOING 60 MPH. THIS HAPPENED THE WHOLE TRIP, AFTER IT WAS PARKED FOR A FEW MINUTES I RESTARTED IT . THE DRIVE HOME WAS UNEVENTFUL. THE THIRD EVENT WAS THE SAME AS THE FIRST, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AS THOUGH THERE WAS NO FLUID IN IT. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND TOLD ME IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN TO GO TO THE CLOSEST DEALER WHILE THE PROBLEM WAS HAPPENING. AFTER READING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE, THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.*AK
MY VAN HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY IN THE SHOP SINCE THE DAY WE BOUGHT. FIRST IT WAS THE INTERNAL LIGHT RELAY, THEN NOISE FROM THE AC, THEN THE DVD/RADIO DIDN'T WORK, THEN RATTLES FROM DOORS, BACK WINDOWS AND SEATS, THEN ALL THE RECALL ITEMS LASTLY MORE RATTLES IN THE BACK AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR WHICH IVE BEEN INFORMED CANNOT BE FIXED. "THEY HAVEN'T COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THAT PROBLEM YET. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS WERE LOCKED. THE HANDLE WAS PULLED AND THE DOOR OPENED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,000. *UPDATED 12/12/07 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER TOLD HER IT WAS A NORMAL FEATURE, IT WAS CORRECTED ON THE 2006 AND 2007 MODELS. THE CONSUMER STATED ON THE NEWER MODELS, THE FRONT DOORS DO NOT OPEN WHEN LOCKED AND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. UPDATED 12/12/07
WE BOUGHT OUR BRAND NEW 2004 NISSAN QUEST S ON 7-30-04. THE NEXT DAY IT RAN VERY SLUGGISH AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE UP TO ADEQUETE SPEED FROM A STOP. IT STALLED OUT TWICE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER HAD TO REPLACE FUEL INJECTOR, FUEL PUMP AND SOME KIND OF GASKET. THEY ALSO ORDERED US A NEW VEHICLE AND WAS VERY COOPERATIVE AND HELPFUL. I DID NOT WANT TO HAVE TO WORRY THE NEXT 10 YEARS IF MY CAR WAS GOING TO BREAK DOWN WITH MY SMALL CHILDREN. THIS IS NOT MY EXPECTATION OF A BRAND NEW VEHICLE.*AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT THE THIRD ROW SEAT BELT CONTINUED TO TIGHTEN ON THE 9 YEAR OLD CHILD'S WAIST WHILE DRIVING, AND HE WAS UNABLE TO RELEASE THE BELT BY HAND. THEY HAD TO CUT THE SEAT BELT TO FREE THEIR CHILD. DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. *AK
I WENT TO PICK UP A COMPUTER/ MODEM. I GOT HOME AND PICKED IT UP OUT OF THE BACK SEAT, THE SIDE MY AUTOMATIC DOOR IS ON. THE CORNER OF THE MODEM HIT THE LITTLE OPEN/SHUT BUTTON. IT CRUSHED BOTH MY ARMS BETWEEN THE DOOR AND MODEM I LOOKED LIKE I HAD BEEN HIT WITH A BASEBALL BAT ON BOTH OF THEM. IF IT HAD BEEN ONE OF MY CHILDREN, IT COULD HAVE EASILY BROKEN A ARM/LEG, AND I DON'T WANT TO EVEN THINK ABOUT IF THEIR HEAD GOT IN IT SOME WAY. THE DEALER TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO FOR IT, EXCEPT COMPLAIN TO YOU ALL. SO I AM, I LOVE MY VAN, BUT I DON'T LET MY CHILDREN GET IN THE AUTOMATIC DOOR WITHOUT SUPERVISION. POWER SLIDING DOORS ON 2004 NISSAN QUEST SE REQUIRE TOO MUCH FORCE TO REVERSE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND ALMOST HURT ONE OF OUR CHILDREN THE OTHER DAY.*AK
MY NISSAN QUEST HAS BEEN PLAGUED WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE. THE WINDOWS GO DOWN COMPLETELY ON THEIR OWN WITH VEHICLE TURNED OFF. THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR OPENS RANDOMLY ON ITS OWN. THE TIRE ALARM GOES OFF WHEN TIRE PRESSURE IS FINE. AIR VENTS FLY OFF AND LIGHTS FALL OUT OF THE CEILING. MOST TROUBLING IS THE AUTOMATIC SIDE SLIDING DOOR. OWNER'S MANUAL STATED ON PAGE 3-8 THE DOOR WILL REVERSE DIRECTION IMMEDIATELY DURING POWER OPEN OR CLOSE, A WARNING CHIME WILL SOUND AND THE DOOR WILL REVERSE DIRECTION AND RETURN TO THE FULL OPEN OR FULL CLOSE POSITION. THE DOOR DOES NOT OPERATE THIS WAY, THE DOOR WILL NOT STOP WHEN IT ENCOUNTERS AN OBJECT IT WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH THE OBJECT IN ITS WAY. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BOTH BEEN CAUGHT BY THE DOOR. IT HAS KNOCKED SMALL CHILDREN TO THE GROUND. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO NISSAN , AND THEY INSISTED THAT THIS WAS THE WAY THE DOOR WERE SUPPOSED TO OPERATE. THE AUTOMATIC CLOSE BUTTON IS RIGHT AT THE LEVEL A SMALL CHILD WOULD PUT HIS HAND TO ENTER THE VEHICLE AND COULD BE EASILY ACTIVATED. NISSAN SAYS THE DOOR IS DESIGNED TO REVERSE WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE INCHES EVEN THOUGH THIS IS CONTRADICTORY TO ITS MANUAL. PLEASE HELP BEFORE A CHILD IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. *AK
RE: MY 2004 NISSAN QUEST-HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM RECUR FOR ALMOST 1 YR & DEALER HAS NOT FIXED IT IN 5 TRIES. ON 7/21/04, BROUGHT MY VAN IN FOR SERVICE 'CAUSE AN ALARM BEEPER WOULD GO OFF RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING-COMES FROM REAR POWER LIFTGATE. BESIDES THE CONSTANT BEEPING, AT TIMES THE LIFTGATE WILL NOT OPEN, ALSO WHEN OPEN THE LIFTGATE WILL NOT CLOSE USING THE POWER BUTTONS-THEN LIFTGATE NEEDS TO BE SHUT MANUALLY. AT MY 7/21/04 SERVICE APPT, THE DEALER ORDERED A PART THAT WOULD BE INSTALLED LATER TO FIX BEEPING. PICKED THE VAN UP ABOUT 4:30 PM, GOT GROCERIES, PICKED UP DAUGHTER & DROVE HOME. ON THE WAY THE VAN WAS BEEPING ALL THE WAY WHEN SUDDENLY A FLASHING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON THAT SAID "WARNING LIFT GATE OPEN". I PANICKED THINKING MY LIFT GATE WAS ABOUT TO FLY OPEN. I PULLED OVER CONFUSED BECAUSE LIFTGATE WAS NOT OPEN. I PUSHED INTERIOR CONTROL FOR LIFT GATE BUT LIFTGATE DID NOT OPEN. THINKING I WAS TEMP. OK, I SLOWLY DROVE HOME W/ FLASHING WARNING SIGNAL ON WHOLE TIME. WHEN I GOT HOME-TRIED TO OPEN LIFTGATE. IT WOULDN'T BUDGE-NOT W/ POWER CONTROLS INSIDE VAN NOR KEY FOB. IT WOULDN'T OPEN MANUALLY EITHER. AT THAT POINT, I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE VAN ANY FURTHER. WAS WELL AFTER 5 PM & THE SERVICE DEPT WOULD BE CLOSED BUT I CALLED THEM ANYWAY. I TALKED TO JOHN NELSON, SALES MGR & EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. TOLD HIM I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE VAN BECAUSE OF WARNING LIGHT BUT CAN'T SEEM TO OPEN/CLOSE DOOR EITHER. HE ASSURED ME THAT VAN HAS "SAFETY MECHANISMS" THAT WOULD PREVENT DOOR FROM FLYING OPEN WHILE DRIVING. I TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS HARD TO BELIEVE VAN WAS SAFE WHEN IT SEEMED WARNING LIGHTS WERE MALFUNCTIONING. SINCE 7/21/04 THE WARNING LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON AGAIN. BUT THE PROBLEM THAT PRECEDED THE WARNING LIGHT-THE CONSTANT BEEPING-STILL HAPPENS ALL THE TIME, BUT ONLY WHEN IT'S WARM. SINCE I LIVE IN WI NOV 04-MAR 05 WAS PROBLEM FREE. DON'T KNOW IF DOOR WILL REALLY FLY OPEN, BUT I KNOW QUEST ALREADY HAD RECALL FOR SIMILAR PROBLEM-SLIDING DOORS NOT LATCHING IN SUB-40 WEATHER. *JB
WHEN AN ADULT SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT THE AIR BAG WOULD SHUT OFF. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK CONSUMER IS A 128 POUND ADULT. *TC
1-POWER SLIDING DOORS ARE FORCEFUL THAT COULD HURT A CHILD DURING THE CLOSING OF THE DOORS. CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS INSPECTED BY NISSAN ENGINEER. THE REPORT CAME BACK AS EVERYTHING IS WITHIN TOLERANCE AND THE DOOR FORCE IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. *JB
WE PURCHASED THIS VAN IN SEP OF 2003. AT THE END OF OCT I WENT OUT TO LEAVE FOR WORK AND THE VAN WOULDN'T START. WE HAD IT TOWED (MY EXPENSE) TO THE DEALER. ONCE IT ARRIVED THERE IT STARTED FINE. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER IT DID THE SAME THING AND WE JUST WAITED UNTIL IT WARMED UP AND IT STARTED JUST FINE. WE DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS DOING THIS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW 34 DEGREES. WE AGAIN TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEPT THE VAN FOR 2 1/2 WEEKS. THEY FINALLY TOLD US THAT THEY WERE FLYING IN A TECHNICIAN FROM CALIFORNIA TO CHANGE THE FUEL PUMP. HAVEN'T HAD THIS TROUBLE UNTIL NOW. AGAIN THIS WEEK I WENT TO LEAVE FOR WORK AND IT WOULDN'T START. (NOW IT'S 80 DEGREES OUTSIDE) THE WRECKER TRIED TO START IT 3 HOURS LATER AND IT STILL WOULDN'T START. BUT AFTER BEING TOWED AND BOUNCED AROUND IT STARTS AGAIN. THE DEALER HAS KEPT THE VAN AGAIN AND IS GOING TO CHANGE THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN. IN BETWEEN THESE 3 VISITS WE HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT IN NUMEROUS TIMES BECAUSE THE VAN WOULD HAVE NO POWER AND START OFF IN 2ND OR 3RD GEAR. EACH TIME WE TOOK IT IN WE WERE TOLD THAT NISSAN KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM THEY JUST HADN'T FIGURED OUT HOW TO FIX IT YET. THIS WAS FINALLY FIXED 2 WEEKS AGO. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VAN IN BECAUSE THE DRIVER WINDOW STUTTERS AS IT'S ROLLED DOWN, THE DOORS RATTLE,THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR STICKS AND DIFFICULT TO OPEN, AND THE CARPET UNDER THE DRIVERS PEDDLES WAS CUT TOO SHORT AND KEPT PULLING LOOSE. EACH TIME I TAKE IT IN I'M TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. FOR THE WINDOW STUTTERING, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE WINDOW TINTING (BUT THE PASSENGER WINDOW IS FINE) WE ARE EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE. WE ARE ONE STEP AWAY FROM VIOLATING THE LEMON LAW. IT STATES THAT IF THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TAKEN IN FOR 4 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN A YEAR IT'S A LEMON. WELL, WE ARE ON OUR 3RD VISIT NOW. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE PURCHASE THIS VAN. *JB
(1) A SCREW FELL OUT WHEN I OPENED THE SUNGLASS HOLDER. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT CAME FROM AT THE TIME. (2) THE MAPLIGHT ASSEMBLY, WHICH INCLUDES THE SUNROOF CONTROLS, THE TWO POWER SLIDING DOOR CONTROLS, AND THE REAR HATCH CONTROL, FELL FROM THE ROOF WHILE CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS. THE MAPLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS HANGING IN MIDAIR BY THE WIRES, SWINGING WILDLY, AND BLOCKING THE VIEW OF THE ROAD AS I WAS CROSSING THE RAILROAD TRACKS. UPON EXAMINATION, THE PLASTIC AROUND ONE SCREW HAD CRACKED APART, SEPARTING THE SCREW FROM THE ASSEMBLY, AND THE SECOND SCREW HAD JUST FALLEN OUT. (3) I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO POHANKA AND THEY REPLACED ONE SCREW AND PUT A WASHER AND A DIFFERENT SCREW FOR THE OTHER CONNECTION. THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE MAPLIGHT ASSEMBLY, JUST PUT TWO DIFFERENT SCREWS AND A WASHER TO REATTACH THE MAPLIGHTS.
THE 2004 QUEST HAS LESS THAN 4000 MILES AND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL SHIMMY WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE FRONT BRAKE ROTOR IS WARPED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH BRAKES FAILED. THE ABS LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OVER. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *AK

3 MONTHS AFTER WE BOUGHT OUR VAN THE AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON...3 MONTHS AFTER IT WAS SERVICED FOR THAT THE LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN... A FEW MONTHS AGO WE NOTICED THAT WHEN WE ACCERLATE THE GAS IT WOULDN'T MOVE...WE ALMOST GOT HIT BY ANOTHER CAR DUE TO THE LACK OF SPEED IT HAD..... THIS IS A FOLLOW UP TO MY ORIGINAL COMPLAINT. AFTER MY 2004 NISSAN QUEST WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS FOUND THAT ONE OF THE THREE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WENT BAD. WHEN THE CALTALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED IT DAMAGED THE OTHER TWO, AND IN DOING SO IT DAMAGED THE ENGINE CAUSING IT TO BE REPLACED. MY VAN IS STILL IN THE SHOP BEING REPAIRED AND I HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED ANY KIND OF COMPENSATION. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN COSTUMER SERVICE AND FILED A COMPLAINT AND I AM STILL AWAITING A REPLY FROM THEM. WE REPRESENT A GENTLEMAN THAT PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN QUEST MINIVAN. WHILE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE BUCKET SEAT, HE ATTEMPTED TO SLIDE THE SEAT BACK TO SHOW HIS FAMILY HOW TO DO IT. IN RAISING THE LEVER ON THE SIDE OF THE SEAT, THERE IS AN EXTREMELY LARGE OPENING (WHERE THE NATURAL CURVATURE OF AN ADULTS FINGERS 'FIT') WHICH ACTS AS A VICE. HE ENDED UP WITH A SEVERED FINGER TIP. APPARENTLY THE 2005 MODEL HAS BEEN 'CHANGED.' HOWEVER, THE 2004 IS THE SAME ON EVERY ONE THAT I SEE. IT CAN BE DEMONSTRATED BY PUTTING A PENCIL IN AND SLIDING THE SEAT BACK. IT OBVIOUSLY SNAPS IN HALF WITH EASE. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION. UNKNOWN IF ANY OTHER INJURIES TO OTHER INDIVIDUALS REPORTED.*AK
THREE DAYS AFTER PURCHASING MY 2004 NISSAN QUEST THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT CLOSE, AFTER 3 DAYS AT THE DEALER THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED ONLY TO HAPPEN A FEW MONTHS LATER. TODAY WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH MY VAN LOST POWER CAUSING ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF A BUSY INTERSTATE. WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE RPM'S WOULD GO UP, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER. THE VAN WOULD NOT GO OVER 20 MPH. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY MORNING FOR THE SERVICE DEPATMENT TO OPEN. MY VAN ONLY HAS 26,000 MILES ON IT.*AK

ANYTHING OVER 350 DEGRESS REQUIRES AT LEAST A 45 MINUTE WAIT BEFORE CONTINUING. WHILE THE BRAKES DID NOT FAIL COMPLETELY, THEY WERE APPROACHING A TEMPERATURE WHICH COULD RESULT IN FAILURE. *AK

ON MARCH 31 2004, MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN QUEST SE. (VIN 5N1BV2U44N352872). THE REASON FOR THE PURCHASE WAS DUE TO THE SIZE AND AGES OF OUR FAMILY MEMBERS. WE HAVE 4 CHILDREN. THEY ARE AGED AS FOLLOWS: 14 YEARS, 11 YEARS, 20 MONTHS, 6 WEEKS. SINCE WE HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM OVER AND OVER. WITH ABOUT 350 MILES ON IT, THE AIR CONDITIONER LOCKED UP AND THE COMPRESSOR WAS REPLACED. AROUND MAY WE NOTICED THE AC WAS NOT COOLING THE VAN OFF AT ALL. KEEP IN MIND WE ARE IN TEXAS AND THIS IS ONE OF THE MILDER MONTHS. WE TOOK THE VAN IN SOMETIME IN EARLY JUNE TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. SHORTLY THERE AFTER THEY RETURNED THE VEHICLE STATING IT WAS PERFORMING TO MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS. I THEN WENT AND PURCHASED A AC VENT THERMOMETER. ON LOW THE TEMPERATURE BLOWING OUT OF THE VENTS IS COLD AROUND 50 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. HOWEVER WHEN YOU TURN IT TO MEDIUM OR HIGH SPEED THE TEMPERATURE THAT BLOWS OUT AT THE VENTS IS AROUND 70-75 DEGREES. THIS TEMPERATURE IS CONSISTENT EVEN AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR APPROXIMATELY 30-35 MINUTES WITH AN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE OF AROUND 90. (WHICH AGAIN IS MILD FOR A TEXAS SUMMER). WITH THE AIR ON HIGH FOR 30-35 MINUTES THE TEMPERATURE IN THE CABIN AT THE MIDDLE ROW OF SEATS IS 87 DEGREES. THIS IS ALSO WITH THE REAR AIR ON HIGH AS WELL. MY CHILD'S PEDIATRICIAN ADVISED ME TO NOT LET MY INFANT RIDE IN THESE TEMPERATURES FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF DEHYDRATION. SO, BASICALLY I AM IN A $35,000 (MSRP) AUTOMOBILE THAT I CAN NOT LET MY CHILD RIDE IN ON ANY TRIPS FOR FEAR THAT HE MAY GET SICK. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SUFFER NOR SHOULD MY CHILD. THE VEHICLE IS SIMPLY NOT PERFORMING AS IT SHOULD.*AK
WHILE APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. CONSUMER APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES AND VEHICLE ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND PULLED OVER. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL, #04V103000 CONCERNING THE AIRBAGS FRONTAL SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE; HOWEVER THE RECALL DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AGAIN. VEHICLE STALLS, SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT START. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED NUMEROUS TIMES, AND A SENSOR WAS REPLACED. (1) EVER SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE ON MAY 1 2004, THE A/C SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN PERFORMING POORLY. (2) ON A 100 TO 110 DEGREE DAY IN PHOENIX ARIZONA, THE A/C AT BEST CAN BLOW 60 TO 70 DEGREES OUT OF THE FRONT VENTS EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR 1 HOUR. MY OTHER 2 VEHICLES AND MY FRIEND'S 2004 HONDA ODYSSEY ALL BLOW 40 DEGREES OUT OF THEIR FRONT VENTS. THE QUEST A/C SYSTEM IS UNACCEPTABLE ESPECIALLY WITH 6 MONTH TWINS IN THE VEHICLE SWEATING. THESE READINGS WERE MEASURED WITH A THERMOMETER. (3) THE QUEST HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THEY FOUND THE FREON LEVEL WAS UNDERCHARGED. THEY RECHARGED THE FREON AND CHECK FOR LEAKS IN WHICH NONE WERE FOUND. 2ND AND 3RD TIME, THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING SINCE THE A/C SYSTEM WAS OPERATING WITHIN THEIR SPECIFICATIONS. AT 104 DEGREES, THE A/C SYSTEM CAN BLOW 72 TO 78 DEGREES AND STILL BE WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. THE SPECIFICATION RANGE IS UNACCEPTABLE WHERE OTHER VEHICLES CAN EASILY PERFORM BETTER. THIS IS BECOMING A SAFETY ISSUE LIVING IN A HOT CLIMATE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE WITH MY TWINS IN MIND. IF WE KNEW THE A/C SYSTEM WAS GOING TO PERFORM POORLY THEN WE WOULD HAVE NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE. 4TH TIME:AFTER CALLING 1800NISSAN1, WE TOOK THE QUEST TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP FOR A SECOND OPINION. THEY CONSULTED WITH NISSAN ASSIST AND LOWER THE FREON PRESSURE. THIS DID NOT HELP. CALLED 1800NISSAN1 AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ELSE. I'M AT THE END OF MY ROPE. *JB
A NEWLY PURCHASED 2004 NISSAN QUEST WITH CURRENT MILEAGE OF AROUND 4,800 MILES WHEN INCIDENT HAPPENED. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE SUDDENLY BENT AND SMOKE CAME OUT. VAN WAS THEN TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND FOUND THAT THE CROSS MEMBER WAS BROKEN OFF. DEALERSHIP DENIED WARRANTY COVERAGE BECAUSE SERVICE MANAGER THOUGHT THAT SUCH DAMAGE MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A COLLISION, BECAUSE HE SAW A FEW LIGHT SCRATCHES AND A SMALLER THAN 2CM MARK ON THE RIM. I AM SURE THAT THE VAN WAS NOT HIT BY ANYTHING WHEN THE TIRE WAS BENT. THE SCRATCHES AND LITTLE MARK COULD BE CAUSED BY PULLING OVER TO SHOULDER WITH A BENT TIRE. I POINTED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE JOINT OF THE BROKEN CROSS MEMBER WAS FULL OF RUST, A SIGN OF INCOMPLETE SEALED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, OBVIOUSLY NOT A NEW DAMAGE CAUSED BY AN ACCIDENT. EVEN TRIED CONTACTING MANUFACTURER MANY TIMES, BUT NO SOLUTION WAS MADE BECAUSE MANUFACTURER MAKES DECISION BASED ON DEALERSHIP STATEMENT. ALSO, SQUEAKING NOISE HAS BEEN COMING OUT FROM REAR SLIDING DOORS, DEALERSHIPS STATED THAT THEY REMOVED DOORS BUT NO FINDING AND PROBLEMS STILL EXIST. *JB
