BOUGHT MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST IN 8/5/13 WITH THE DEALER CONVINCE MY THAT THE VEHICLE IS GOOD AND INSPECTED BUMPER TO BUMPER,AFTER DRIVING FOR A FEW TIMES, MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND PRESENT IS 83,000 MILES,I STARTED HEARING NOISE COMING FROM THE TIMING COMPARTMENT,I CALLED NISSANUSA AND INFORMED THEM AND THEY ADVS TO TAKE IT IN FOR INSPECTION,THEY FOUND THAT THE GUIDE FOR THE TIMING CHAIN SYSTEM HAS BROKEN AND IF NOT REPLACE IT WILL CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND SERIOUS ACCIDENT,SO NOW I CAN'T USE THE VEHICLE.
TIMING CHAIN AND TENSIONER BEGAN TO FAIL AROUND 105,000. COST TO REPLACE WAS 2166.57. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT TIMING CHAINS WERE SUPPOSED TO LAST LONGER THAN THAT AMOUNT OF TIME.
THE FUEL GAUGE MARKED 1/4 TANK FULL BUT WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY.
A HOSE THAT MOVES ANTIFREEZE COOLANT INTO VEHICLE I BELIEVE TO BE CAKED A VACUUM HOSE FELL OFF CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK OUT COMPLETELY... IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES FOR NO REASON AND JERKS.. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE ASK MOTOR MOUNTS WHICH I DID AND STILL ISSUE PERSISTS .. NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND STATING THE SOLENOIDS IN TRANSMISSION NEED TO BE REPLACED... VAN LOSES POWER UNEXPECTEDLY. . THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING MOSTLY AT LOW SPEEDS
I BEING HAVING THIS PROBLEM A COUPLE MONTHS ALREADY. EVERYTIME THAT I DRIVE MY NISSAN QUEST FOR A WHILE THE GEARS START SLIPPING. BEFORE AND AFTER I MAKE A STOP IT'S LIKE SOMEBODY HIT ME IN THE BACK.
THIS IS PROBABLY THE 4TH TIME I HAVE STALLED OUT I LOOSE POWER STEERING WHEN CAR STALLS AND I WAS DRIVING IN A LOT OF TRAFFIC. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON THE FREE WAY. GAS GAUGE SHOWS I HAVE OVER A QUARTER OF A TANK THE DISTANCE TO EMPTY SHOWS THAT I HAVE ANY WHERE FROM 18-70 MILES LEFT AND I STALL OUT. AFTER PUTTING GAS IN THE TANK THE CAR FUNCTIONS AGAIN. THERE IS NO ILLUMINATED LIGHT, NO NOTIFICATION IN THE FORM OF A SOUND OR DING. I WATCH MY MILES BUT WHEN YOU VARY BETWEEN IN TOWN AND HIGHWAY MILES THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS THE SAME. I HAVE DRIVEN 400 MILES BEFORE NEEDING TO FILL UP AND 283 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WHEN TANK HAS EMPTIED AND STALLED OUT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 19 YEARS WITHOUT EVER RUNNING OUT OF GAS IN AT LEAST 14 OTHER VEHICLES, AND I HAVE RUN OUT 4 TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY GAUGE IN THE NISSAN QUEST. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
THE TRANSMISSION, ENGINE MOUNTS, EXHAUST AND ENGINE COMPONENT WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. MOST RECENTLY THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE MOUNTS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED AGAIN.
MY FUEL GAUGE SHOWED ABOUT A QUARTER TANK OF GAS AND I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN IT SUDDENLY STALLED. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO CARS BEHIND ME AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO THE SHOP . THERE WERE CO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY CODES. THE SHOP AFTER TESTING THE FUEL PUMP AND OTHER THINGS FIGURED OUT IS WAS EMPTY ON GAS. ONCE WE PUT GAS, IT WAS GOOD TO GO. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. WHAT IF IT HAPPENS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHERE I AM NOT ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER. I SEE THAT THERE HAS BEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, BUT THERE IS NO RE-CALL. PLEASE RE-OPEN THE CASE.
WHEN YOU START TO TAKE OFF AT STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT THE TRANSMISSION JERKS AN KNOCKS WHEN IT STARTS CHANGING GEARS . AN SOMETIMES CUTS THE ENGINE OFF SOMETIMES INMIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. <MY TWO GRANKIDS HAVE TO RIDE INN THIS POJ >
I WAS DRIVING FROM PEKIN TO WORK IN PEORIA AND NOTICED THAT I HAD A LITTLE LESS THAN 1/4 TANK OF FUEL SO I FIGURED I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET GAS ON THE WAY HOME. WHEN I CHECKED THE TRIP GAGE IT SAID THAT I HAD 8 MILES TO GO BEFORE I RAN OUT OF GAS. THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE THAN WHAT MY GAS GAUGE SAID. I STOPPED AND GOT GAS IMMEDIATELY AND WHILE DOING SO I NOTICED THAT IT TOOK 17 GALLONS OF GAS. IF IT HAD ACTUALLY HAD A 1/4 TANK IN IT THERE IS NO WAY THAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO PUT 17 GALLONS OF GAS IN AN 18 GALLON TANK. I HAVE CALLED MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECOLLECTION OF THIS BEING AN ISSUE. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING I HAVE BEEN KEEPING TRACK OF MY MILEAGE AND FILLING UP ACCORDING TO MY MILEAGE RECORDS. I HOPE THIS CAN GET FIXED SOON I AM A MOTHER AND THE LAST THING I WOULD WANT TO HAPPEN IS TO GET STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH MY BABY IN THE CAR BECAUSE OF AN ERROR THAT WASN'T MY FAULT.

THE DETAILS OF THE REPAIR WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS PROVIDING INCORRECT READING LEVELS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER A MANUFACTURER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN FOR THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
RATTLE NOISE WHEN STARTED AND A CELEBRATE TIMING BELT ISSUES
VEHICLE STALLED ON MORNING DRIVE TO WORK. OVER 1/4 TANK OF GAS ACCORDING TO GAS GAUGE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO AUTO REPAIR WHERE THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A FAILED FUEL PUMP. WHEN THE REMOVED THE GAS TANK TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP THE MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS VERY LITTLE GAS IN THE TANK. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND CHARGED ME $736.00. WHEN THEY TESTED THE ORIGINAL FUEL PUMP, IT OPERATED BELOW THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT TRYING TO RESTART THE ENGINE WITH LITTLE GAS IN THE TANK (FAULTY GAS GAUGE) CAUSED THE ORIGINAL FUEL PUMP TO OVERHEAT.
THE GAS GAUGE IS SAYING THAT THERE IS OVER A QUARTER OF A TANK AND THE VEHICLE RUNS OUT OF GAS. THIS WAS HAPPENING OCCASIONALLY. NOW, IT IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE. NOW, I FEEL THAT I MUST FILL UP EVERY FEW DAYS SO I AM NOT LEFT STRANDED AGAIN. FIRST TIME, CLOSE TO HOME. SECOND TIME ON MY WAY TO WORK ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY (VERY SCARY). THIRD TIME, CLOSE TO HOME AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT A RECALL WAS TO HAPPEN OVER THE SUMMER OF 2015 BUT CAN NOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IT.
FUEL GAUGE, READ APPROXIMATELY 1/4 OF A TANK. CAR BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND BUCK, AS IF THE CAR WAS OUT OF GAS. NEARLY GOT INTO A MULTIPLE CAR ACCIDENT. LUCKILY ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND GET CAR INTO A GAS STATION. PUT GAS IN THE CAR, RAN FINE, BUT GAS GAUGE IS STILL INNACCURATE
LATELY, WHEN I START THE CAR, THERE IS A RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. IT COMES FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN IT GOES AWAY. I HAVE NOTICED IT ON COLD STARTS. MY MECHANIC SAYS, IT COULD BE THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. WHEN I SEARCH THE NISSAN FORUMS, I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS ISSUE. THE COST TO FIX THIS IS AROUND 2000.00. I AM NOT SURE IF I SHOULD FIX THIS NOW OR WAIT FOR NISSAN TO ISSUE A RE-CALL FOR THIS. SINCE THE RATTLING SOUND GOES AWAY AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, ONE PART OF ME TELLS ME I CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS. ANOTHER PART TELLS ME WHAT IF THE TIMING CHAIN FAILS IN A BUSY HIGHWAY CAUSING A CRASH. PLEASE REVIEW AND MAKE NISSAN ISSUE A RE-CALL FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INCORRECT READING INDICATING THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL WHEN IT WAS REALLY EMPTY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
SAME AS MOST OTHERS ON HERE, WE WERE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS. GAS GAUGE READ JUST OVER QUARTER OF A TANK, YET WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. WE DO OUR BEST TO GET IT FILLED UP AT A HALF TANK, BUT THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN A YEAR AND A HALF. WE'VE GOTTEN TWO LETTERS FROM NISSAN INFORMING US OF THE ISSUE, BUT IT'S STARTING TO APPEAR AS THOUGH NOTHING IS GOING TO BE DONE TO FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE DOESN'T HAVE TO DIE TO GET THEM TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. OBVIOUSLY THERE'S A DEFECT.
CAR DID NOT START WHEN SHOWING 1/4 TANK LEFT. IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT AND WE FIGURED THE FUEL PUMP WAS BAD, SO WE TOWED IT HOME. AS A LAST RESORT BEFORE BRINGING IT INTO THE SHOP, WE POURED 1 GALLON OF GAS INTO IT THE NEXT MORNING AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.
WIDESPREAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS RANGING FROM ROUGH SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS, HESITATION WHILE ACCELERATING AND SUDDEN STOPS OR JERKING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE NAME OF THE PART THAT WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CASE OF NEGLIGENCE I HAVE WITNESSED FROM AN AUTOMAKER! AGAIN NISSAN IGNORES AND COVERS UP A KNOWN PROBLEM. THE TIMING CHAIN 'DEATH RATTLE' IS HIGHLY ANNOYING AND MAKES THE OWNER FEEL AS IF THE ENGINE WILL 'GO' AT ANY MINUTE. THE FACT THAT THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT CANNOT BE PERFORMED WITHOUT REMOVING THE ENGINE FROM THE CAR IS APPALLING. THE POOR DESIGN ON THE TENSIONER GUIDE IS WELL DOCUMENT BY NISSAN AND YET THEY CONTINUED TO PASS OFF INFERIOR PRODUCTS TO UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMERS. TRULY, TRULY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR FROM AN AUTOMAKER. TO EASE THEIR CONSCIOUS THEY ISSUES A TSB ON THE SUBJECT. WHAT THEY NEED TO DO IS ISSUE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL ON ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED. MY DEALER QUOTED ME $2800 TO FIX THIS DEFECT. $2800! $2800! ARE YOU SERIOUS? NISSANS LACK OF CONSIDERATION FOR THE CUSTOMER IS INEXCUSABLE.
TRANSMISSIONS GEAR SLIPS AND JERKS UNEXPECTEDLY. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL JERK WHEN ACCELERATING. WILL PROBABLY NEED TO REBUILD THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION THAT WILL COST PLENTY. ALSO DANGEROUS FOR MY FAMILY TO DRIVE.
WHEN I FILL UP THE FUEL TANK THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT MOVE FROM END (E) TO FULL (F) EVEN AFTER FILLING UP THE COMPLETE TANK. IT TAKES UP TO 20 TO 25 MINUTES OF DRIVING BEFORE THE FUEL GAUGE GETS TO FULL (F) POSITION.
I WAS DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, WHEN SUDDENLY MY VEHICLE LOST POWER. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, BUT WAS PARTIALLY ON THE FREEWAY STILL SINCE I WAS ON AN UPHILL INCLINE. MY GAS GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK. THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME IN 2 MONTHS THAT I RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN MY GAUGE STILL SHOWED PLENTY OF GAS. THE FIRST TIME, I WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR STATION , ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I WAS SIMPLY OUT OF GAS. THIS LAST TIME WAS SCARY SINCE I COULDN'T GET SAFELY OFF THE ROAD. *TR
THE PRESSURE POWER STEERING HOSE DEVELOPS A TERRIBLE LEAK. EVENTUALLY REQUIRED A 1/2 BOTTLE OF PS FLUID NEARLY EVERY DAY! THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE HOSE IS "BURIED" BEHIND THE ENGINE AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO REPLACE. A REPLACEMENT HOSE IS LESS THAN $100 BUT IT TAKES MULTIPLE HOURS OF PAIN AND FRUSTRATION TO REPLACE. THIS TYPE OF POOR WORKMANSHIP IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THE FACT THAT IT'S SO DIFFICULT TO FIX A KNOWN PROBLEM IS UNCONSCIONABLE. NISSAN SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CONSUMERS. THE LEAKED CAUSED STEERING ISSUES ON NUMEROUSE OCCASIONS. IT NEVER FAILED COMPLETELY DUE TO THE FACT THAT I CARRIED A GALLON JUG OF PS FLUID WITH ME EVERYWHERE I WENT. NOW, NOT ONLY DID IT TAKE ME FOREVER TO REPAIR THIS ITEM, MY DRIVEWAY IS AN EYESORE. POWER STEERING FLUID IS A VERY CAUSTIC PRODUCT AND DOES NOT CLEAN UP THEREFORE IT HAS DESTROYED MY DRIVEWAY. I'M SORELY DISAPPOINTED.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ABILITY TO STEER SEIZED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
VEHICLE WAS WAS SHOWING A QUARTER TANK OF GAS WHILE DRIVING THEN STARTED SPUTTERING AROUND AND DIED.
I WAS DRIVING MINIVAN BACK HOME WITH MY DAUGHTER AFTER HER DR.'S APPOINTMENT. MY FUEL GAUGE WAS SHOWING THAT I HAVE CLOSE TO 120 MILES TO EMPTY THE TANK. ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VAN LOST THE ENGINE POWER AND STARTED SHAKING AND FINALLY COMPLETELY STOPPED AFTER FEW HICCUPS. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT IN THE MIDDLE TURNING LANE AS SOON AS IT STARTED SHAKING AND I REALIZED A PROBLEM. THIS SAVED ME AND OTHERS FROM BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, I WAS AT A LOWER SPEED AND GOING UP HILL AND THAT HELPED ME MANAGE TO MOVE IN THE MIDDLE WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IF I HAD ON A HIGHWAY AND RUNNING AT A HIGHSPEED, I WOULD HAVE CAUSED A BIG ACCIDENT INVOLVING MANY VEHICLES. I FOUND OUT THAT MAY GAUGE WASN'T REPORTING THE FUEL PROPERLY AND I RAN OUT OF FUEL. WHEN I PUT SOME GAS FROM A CAN, I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. SINCE THAT DAY, MY FUEL GAUGE IS NOT ACCURATE. I HAVE TO KEEP MY GAS FILLED UP JUST TO AVOID ANY SUCH HAPPENING AGAIN. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THAT SINCE I STARTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM MY VEHICLE ALSO STARTED ENGINE POWER LOSS AT LOWER SPEEDS. AT TIMES, IT LOOKS LIKE THE ENGINE IS GOING TO STOP AND THEN IT WILL GET A BIG JERK AND START TO MOVE NORMAL. THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR IS NOT NORMAL AND MAY RESULT IN A UNSAFE/DANGEROUS CONDITION ON THE ROAD. THIS A PROBLEM WITH THE GAUGE/FUEL SYSTEM OR MAY BE THE COMPUTER ITSELF THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON IT. *TR

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE LOCAL ROAD, A LOUD VIBRATION FROM THE RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR CAN BE HEARD.. ITS VERY LOUD! IT ALSO MADE THE GAS PEDAL SHAKE A LITTLE BIT.. 2007 NISSAN QUEST S 86500 MILES..DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW GETS STUCK WHILE GOING UP, ALSO DOORS WONT OPEN ALL THE TIME. *TR
FIRST OF ALL, THIS IS RELATED TO NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE14012. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO PROGRAM OR FIX AVAILABLE FOR THE PROBLEM. YOU CLOSED THIS INVESTIGATION ON JANUARY 13, 2015 BASED ON NISSAN TELLING THE NHTSA THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO SOMETHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. IT IS NOW JULY 15, 2015, 4 MONTHS AFTER I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS THAT THEY WOULD HAVE A FIX BY JULY. I BELIEVE THAT NISSAN LIED TO YOU TO GET YOU OFF THEIR BACKS. THEIR FIX SO FAR IS TO TELL ME THAT I NEED TO FILL UP THE GAS TANK WHEN IT IS HALF FULL.... IN A DAY AND AGE WHEN EVERY CAR HAS A RED LIGHT THAT COMES ON, THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR ME TO HAVE TO WATCH MY GAS GAUGE OR MILEAGE IN ORDER NOT TO RUN OUT OF GAS WHEN AT FULL SPEED! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD THE VEHICLE STOP ON MY IN THE MIDDLE OF A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION... OTHER CARS HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES AND SINCE I WAS MAKING A TURN IN A SPACE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC... THEY HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID ME! MY WIFE ALSO HAD IT CUT OUT ON HER, BUT FORTUNATELY WAS JUST PULLING INTO A STATION TO FILL UP. PLEASE REOPEN THIS INVESTIGATION TO PUT NISSAN ON NOTICE. THEY ARE DOING NOTHING. I EVEN OFFERED TO MY DEALERSHIP TO PAY TO HAVE THIS FIXED AND THEY COULDN'T DO IT BECAUSE THERE AREN'T PARTS AVAILABLE. NISSAN LIED TO YOU. GET 'EM! THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE FUEL GAUGE READ 1/4 OF A TANK BUT THE VEHICLE ACTED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS. WE PUT GAS IN THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED. WE WERE INFORMED THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM BUT NO SOLUTION. WHEN I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE IT SAYS INVESTIGATION IS CLOSED. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TO KEEP OUR VEHICLE OVER A 1/2 OF A TANK AT ALL TIMES BUT THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION! I AM NOT HAPPY WITH NISSAN AND THIS IS THE SECOND PROBLEM THAT NISSAN HAS NOT STOOD BEHIND AND NO RECALL AT THIS TIME!
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST I PULLED UP TO A STOP LIGHT AND THE ENGINE DIED. IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER AND START AGAIN AS IF IT WAS OUT OF FUEL BUT THE GAUGE STILL SHOWED 1/4 TANK OF FUEL. I HAD TO HAVE A ST. LOUIS POLICE OFFICER STOP TRAFFIC DOWNTOWN SO I COULD PUSH MY QUEST OFF OF THE ROAD. HE THEN TOOK ME TO GET FUEL IN HOPES THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. I PUT FUEL IN IT AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THEN THE VERY NEXT DAY THE GAUGE SHOWS THE VAN IS COMPLETELY EMPTY BUT IT IS TOTALLY FULL. IT THEN STARTS WORKING AGAIN THEN QUITS THEN STARTS WORKING AGAIN AND THE "DRIVE UNTIL EMPTY" GAUGE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE DOES START WORKING IT IS NEVER CONSISTENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RE-FUELED AND ABLE TO RESTART. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED 1/4 OF FUEL PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND THE FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE GETTING ONTO A FREEWAY (DARK/RAINING/PM), THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THIS CAUSED A COMPLETE POWER FAILURE TO THE POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING. THIS CREATED A IMMEDIATE HAZARD. ALSO, THIS LEFT MY WIFE AND TWO KIDS STRANDED. THE VEHICLE SHOWED ABOUT A 1/4 TANK OF GAS ON THE DASH AND THE DIGITAL READOUT IN THE CENTER CONSOLE SAID 68 MILES TO EMPTY. I TOWED THE VEHICLE HOME. PRIOR TO DOING DIAGNOSTIC WORK I PUT A GALLON OF GAS IN. THE VEHICLE STARTED RIGHT UP. I FILLED UP THE TANK THINKING MAYBE THE FLOAT/SENSOR MAY HAVE STUCK. AGAIN THE VAN WITHOUT WARNING SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. THIS TIME IT WAS IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK AND CENTER CONSOLE COMPUTER READ 66 MILES TO EMPTY. I PLACED 5 GALLONS IN AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE FUEL LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON AND THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE CAR WILL SHUT DOWN. LOSING POWER BRAKES/STEERING UNEXPECTEDLY CREATES A SERIOUS HAZARD IN ITSELF. I KNOW KEEP THE TANK ABOVE 1/2 BECAUSE BELOW THAT I'M ROLLING THE DICE. HOPEFULLY NISSAN WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THE ISSUE SINCE THERE SEEMS TO BE QUITE A FEW OF THESE. *TR
TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE YEARLY EMISSION TEST AND IT DID NOT PASS. IT STATES CODE P0462. HAD THE NISSAN DEALER ALSO CHECK THE VEHICLE AND IT ALSO STATES THAT THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. NISSAN IS NOT RETURNING BACK MY CALLS AND I RECEIVED A POSSIBLE RECALL NOTICED ON JANUARY 2015. I AM UP FOR THE EMISSION TEST AGAIN AND NEED TO GET THIS FIXED SO IT CAN PASS IT. MY PLATES WILL BE SUSPENDED IF IT DOES NOT PASS. ALSO WHEN I FILL UP IT THE FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T MOVE UP TO FULL. I RAN OUT OF GAS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. BOTH TIMES I THOUGHT I HAD PLENTY OF GAS DUE TO WHAT THE GAUGE SAID. THE FIRST TIME, I HAD MY 2 KIDS WITH ME AND IT RAN OUT AS I WAS GOING AROUND AN UNFAMILIAR CURVE IN THE INTERSTATE. THE VAN BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER. LUCKY FOR ME I WAS IN A LANE NEXT TO A SHOULDER SO I WAS ABLE TO FIGHT IT OFF OF THE ROAD. IT WAS VERY HARD TO STOP AT THAT POINT. THE SECOND TIME, I HAD 7 PEOPLE IN THE CAR INCLUDING MY 2 KIDS AND 4 OF THEIR YOUNG FRIENDS. THIS TIME IT RAN OUT JUST AS I CAME TO A CURVE ON A ROAD WHERE PEOPLE TEND TO SPEED. I DID NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO KEEP THE VAN FROM CROSSING INTO THE ONCOMING LANE, BUT LUCKY FOR US, NOBODY WAS IN THE OTHER LANE AT THAT TIME. I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF OF THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BOTH TIMES I MISSED VERY IMPORTANT MEETINGS BUT WAS THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED TO RESET MY MILEAGE COUNTER WHEN I FILL UP AND WATCH TO MAKE SURE I DON'T PUSH IT TO FAR, BUT ALWAYS AFRAID I MAY GUESS INCORRECTLY. I AM PROBABLY FILLING UP AT 1/2 TANK FOR FEAR OF STALLING AGAIN WITH MY KIDS IN THE VAN. AFTER THE FIRST TIME, I THOUGHT I RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT A PROBLEM WITH THE GAUGE. I HAD MY VAN IN FOR SERVICE AT THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND ASKED THEM ABOUT IT. THEY LOOKED IT UP AND SAID THEY DID NOT SEE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THAT WAS AROUND 2015/03. I AM TIRED OF CONSTANTLY FILLING UP, SO I AM LOOKING INTO HOW TO GET IT FIXED. THAT IS HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FAULTY GAUGE ISSUE.

I BOUGHT A 2007 NISSAN QUEST WITH 138000 MILES AND A FULL TANK OF GAS ACCORDING TO THE ACCORDING TO THE NEEDLE. WITH JUST 130 DRIVEN IN 5 DAYS I LOSE ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKES ON A BUSY ROAD. AFTER LEAVING MY CAR AT A MECHANIC SHOP FOR THE WEEKEND I CAME ACROSS MY PAPERWORK WHICH INCLUDED A CAMPAIGN NOTICE REGARDING THE FUEL GAUGE AND THAT I SHOULD TAKE MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO REPLACE ONCE THE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE AT MY COST TO ME FOR REPAIR. AFTER FINDING OUT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO GAS IN THE VAN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE WRITTEN NOTICE THAT THEY WILL REPAIR AT NO COST FOR LABOR AND PARTS THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR NOTICE. I MUST NOW PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE14012 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT OFFERED A REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE VEHICLE HAS RAN COMPLETELY OUT OF FUEL TWO TIMES WITH THE FUEL GAUGE READING SLIGHTLY BELOW THE HALF TANK MARK ON BOTH OCCASIONS. THIS HAPPENED AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS OF AROUND SEVENTY MILES PER HOUR. THE VEHICLE, ALL AT ONCE, LOST TOTAL POWER AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE IT OFF OF THE ROADWAY SAFELY. I CONTACTED NISSAN ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT THAT THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALL AND NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AT THIS TIME. MY FAMILY AND I MAY BE KILLED THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS, SO NO RUSH NISSAN. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK THAT NEEDS ATTENTION QUICKLY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON A SERVICE ROAD WE LOST ENGINE POWER WHICH MADE STEERING VERY DIFFICULT AND GOT US ALMOST HIT BY CARS BEHIND US. *TR

THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE MOTOR QUIT WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY. I COASTED THE NISSAN QUEST OFF OF THE 4 LANE HIGHWAY AND ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. ONCE STOPPED I TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN. THE AMPS WERE GOOD, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS ABOVE 1/4 TANK. I TRIED TO CRANK IT BUT IT WOULD NOT START, AS IF IT WAS OUT OF GAS. THE FUEL DISPLAY SHOWED 70 MILES TO EMPTY. FUEL WAS ACQUIRED, PUT IN THE QUEST AND IT CRANKED UP. THE 2ND INCIDENT HAPPENED THE SAME, WITH FUEL GAUGE SHOWING 1/4 TANK & THE DISTANCE TO EMPTY WAS 68 MILES. I WAS LEFT STRANDED ON A ROADSIDE AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME WAS THE SAME AS THE FIRST TWO TIMES. I WASN'T STRANDED THE THIRD TIME BECAUSE I NOW HAVE TO DRIVE WITH A FILLED PORTABLE GAS CAN IN THE CARGO AREA. I CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA & EVEN THOUGH THERE IS AN AGREED VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 NISSAN QUEST, I WAS TOLD THAT MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST WAS NOT RECALLED FOR THE CONFIRMED PROBLEM. *TR

NOT SURE OF THE MILAGE IT'S BEEN HAPPENING SINCE BEFORE GETTING A NOTICE FROM NISSAN IN JAN 2015..... WE THEN WENT AND HAD THE VIN SCANNED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WQSN'T PART OF THE ISSUE YET WE HAVE THE ISSUE OCCURING AND GOT THE NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM NISSAN. THEIR ADVICE OF KEEPING IT AT 1/2 A TANK DOESNT WORK. IT'S BEEN AT A FULL TANK AND GAUGE STILL READ AS E WITH THE LIGHT ON. NISSAN NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUTABLE AND FIX THIS ISSUE. IT ALSO MAKES THE VEHICALE THROW A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHICH WILL MAKE THE CAR FAIL SMOG.
I PURCHASED MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST SE JANUARY OF 2014 AND AFTER ABOUT A YEAR OF OWNERSHIP, THE VAN STARTED TO MAKE THE NOW INFAMOUS TIMING CHAIN RATTLE NOISE UPON COLD STARTING THE VAN. IT WOULD EVENTUALLY GO AWAY AFTER 10 MINUTES OR MORE, BUT ITS REALLY ANNOYING TO HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS LOUD NOISE EVERY TIME I START MY VAN, AND NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND OFFER A FREE PERMANENT FIX TO THIS PROBLEM.
