NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2015 Nissan Rogue. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
I was driving on the highway with my one year old child and with no warning lights my transmission stopped working the rpms were going out of control and I couldn't drive the car. We were lucky to get out of that situation safely. I contacted Nissan about the transmission codes recall and asked if it would be covered they said yes. I went in with the vehicle and they told.me the transmission would need to be replaced. The car is in perfect condition and shouldn't have these issues. Specially with NO warning. Nissan has tip toed around this issue with me. I did my research and posted to social media to find out SO many more have had this exact issue in older and newer models and Nissan has refused to take responsibility for there faulty CVT transmission. They are still putting them in vehicles leaving it to the consumer to fix. These transmissions need to be recalled before more families are effected by this. I have been back and forth with corporate Nissan for a week now and they are telling me in order to SEE if I qualify for financial assistance Nissan will need to diagnose and fix the car and It is not guaranteed they will help with costs. Instead of fixing the problem they are making me jump through hoops. They KNOW about this issue as the complaints on the BBB are constant and consistent with my situation. Please take my incident into consideration and stop Nissan from producing death trap family vehicles.
The airbag light turns on despite not having a passenger seated or anything on the seat. I’ve never gotten into a crash either and when I took my car to Jiffy Lube to run a diagnostic the code B0020 past came up. From what I read online this is a common sensor issue. Nissan should do a recall and fix this.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated to 30 MPH. The engine revved while driving however, the vehicle failed to exceed 30 MPH. The contact pulled over to side of the road and turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the failure persisted. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Drainage issue with the skylight window. Caused major water damage and potential mold/mildew issue. The car has been brought to the dealer for repair and inspection.
Able to shift out of the "Park" position without depressing the brake pedal. Moved while parked and kids were in the car unbuckled. Could have injured the kids as well as anyone who was around the car at the time. Brought the car to the dealer, appeared to be a recall with other 2015 Nissan Rogues but not this one.
I own a 2015 Nissan Rogue with 70,000 miles.Pulling into driveway at 2mph, car suddenly accelerated by itself , leaving me with no control over the car and unable to make it stop before hitting a truck in the rear and pushing the truck sideways. The truck had been parked in driveway. Brakes did not stop the acceleration. Skid marks noted for a couple of feet. Had my 3 year old grandson in the back seat in his car seat. Person's truck I hit, saw the whole event happen. Engine rev'd up and jerked forward. No one was hurt but I was hysterical having my grandson in the car with me. Car had to be towed and still needing to be taken to repair shop. Awaiting to hear from insurance agent on which autobody shop it should be taken to. Truck that I hit had a lot of rear damage.
October 2021 while driving at a 55 mph my stirring wheel felt hard to maneuver and a chasis control light/check engine light came on. I felt a resistance to steer and speed was reducing. I manage to pull over right away and turn off car it would not turn off until I continuously press my start button. After my car got towed it would not jump star no power at all A mechanics saw and diagnostic as an electrical issue possibly harness with a code U0100. I decided to take to Nissan dealer they diagnosed an IPM issue replaced for $1300. Took car drove fine for two months two months later while driving my chasis control light came up again my steering to the right was too hard so I pull to the left manage to park. Car turn off at first press on start button but it wouldn’t jump start again. Replace the ipm Nissan said harness that holds has to be replace want to do it for $5k and not sure if it will fix issue. My car had no signs of issues ever before very scare to fix and drive now since it just suddenly doesn’t let me control steering and dies right away with no warnings. Very dangerous for all road drivers. No current recall resolution till next month however I need a vehicle very inconvenient and dangerous for me.
CVT Transmission failure. Loss of vehicle propulsion and burning smell on highway. Warning light came on after symptoms of failure. Owner has only driven 24k miles since purchase and goes for routine vehicle service at Nissan regularly. Further research show identical safety related issues for models with CVT from 2012-2016. There are no recalls despite pending lawsuits for this issue.
Check engine light came on. Took to dealership. They performed diagnostics. Told me the transmission was failing and needed to be replaced. Also said that the catalytic converter was failing too and needed to be replaced also. Didn't have issues with the car up to this point. Researched and saw that Nissan had issues with their CVT transmissions including the Rogue model and year I had. This was the second time a transmission failed on a Nissan Rogue that I owned. If there is an issue with the transmission why are they allowed to still sell it? A bad transmission can cause an accident when driving or in reverse. Needless to say I was pretty much forced to sell this on a trade in for a new vehicle. It's thousands of dollars to repair/replace and no guarantee that the transmission they put in will work properly either. Your agency really dropped the ball on this. This issue has been going on for 2 decades already. I would like to be reimbursed for it. I know that's not your agency's job but you should be much more diligent on these issues. Consumer lives are at risk not to mention the huge cost of repairing/replacing a transmission. Nissan is getting a free pass on selling defective vehicles to the public.
Oct 9, 2021 had issues including loss of power, transmission jerking, transmission slipping while driving. Just returned from dealer for service on my 2015 Nissan Rogue with 55k miles saying it needs a new CVT and it's not covered under warranty. First occurred on Oct 9, the dealer applied the reprogram on Oct 12, but issue came back that night. Took it back today and the new code is the P0744 shudder saying replace CVT. CVT issue causes hazardous driving conditions as the vehicle jerks, loses power, then quickly accelerates, then lunges, etc.
Nissan issued a Recall Campaign Bulletin on this issue on September 23, 2020 (attached). This issue is caused by a failed electric controlled coupling that transmits driving force to the rear final drive. Under certain circumstances primary failure of this device can lead to secondary failures that can create dynamic instability and loss of traction. The Recall Campaign Bulletin only applies to a relatively small subset of vehicles that are vulnerable to this problem. Please see the repair estimate attached.
Airbag warning light came on Nissan check the problem and stated the vehicle needs a left front seat back also stated airbags will not work until the part is replaced.( Airbag is defective)
All out of no wear car was seating and caught on fire on the inside of car. They said it was a electrical fire started in the dome light.
The hydraulics (?) in my manual lift gate suddenly failed. The hatchback slammed shut, and I barely ducked away in time. I was shaking.I thank God that my grandchildren weren’t the one retrieving an item. They could have been killed or paralyzed. I saw that Nissan recalled the Rogue for tailgate problems, but was told my vehicle wasn’t covered. (Nissan Case #44796538). This defect means no one can use my cargo space without risking life and limb. This happened approximately the first week in September. No warnings. Anyone is welcome to inspect my car. In my decades of car ownership, I have never had this happen on any vehicle. Scary.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the four doors locking mechanism continued to lock and unlock independently. Also, the contact was unable to unlock the doors from inside the vehicle. The door would unlock while the transmission was in the PARK position and when turning the engine off the doors automatically unlocked. The doors were also unlocked using the key fob. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,360.
Issue occurs when driving around a 30 minute plus commute. When driving at an incline the vehicle fails to accelerate and reduces speeds rapidly changing from 65 mph to 40 mph. Rather scary to have cars flying by with lost of acceleration. There has been 3 incidents of this occurring. No accident occurred was able to pull over each time due to driving in the slow lane.
While driving on I-95, my Nissan Rogue Select 2015 was cruising at the speed limit of 70 mph when, all of a sudden, the speed had begun to drop to 65-50 mph. I pressed the gas pedal to accelerate, but the car wouldn't go past 65mph. Over a period of time, I began to hear a strange high pitch whining sound. Later, the speed had dropped as low as 40 mph, I switched lanes, and stopped on the shoulder of the highway. As I parked my car, I smelled the odor of the transmission fluid. As I parked, I began to read up about the transmission issue on the owner's manual as well as online. I later found out that the transmission, CVT transmission, had entered a mode called, "limp-mode" wherein the car limits the speed to a safe driving speed (this case it was 65mph) in order to prevent a transmission overheat. Not to mention, I noticed that my Rogue dashboard shows an air bag light flashing, something that happened recently. My family and I almost got into an accident with the transmission on limp mode. A recent bulletin from Nissan stated the issue with the CVT transmission. We had gone to Valvoline and they said that the transmission needed a tune-up. No lamps or indicators showed that the transmission was in limp-mode. The only lamp that was flashing was for the air bag ( there was a recall about that.)
The abs actuator pump failed when I was driving and I barely managed to get home safely.
My car had gear slipped down to neutral and lost power while driving on a highway and as I was pushed the gas pedal after about 10secs jumped back to gear and accelerated unexpectedly.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 10-60 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The check engine warning light and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after 10 minutes however, the vehicle would jerk and hesitate while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times where the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was updated and the codes were reset; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. A second local dealer, Ken Pollock Nissan Service Center (229 Mundy St, Wilkes-Barre Township, PA 18702) was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The Nissan Rogue would not accelerate past 40mph on the highway. It was also making a whining sound. The failure of the car to accelerate made it impossible to drive at the appropriate speed limit on the highway. We had to put on the emergency lights and we had our children in the back seat. We took the car in to our own mechanic, as well as to our local Nissan service center, and they both confirmed that it is an internal transmission problem. We are attaching the diagnostic reports to this message. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.
Vehicle has intermittent transmission problems. RPS's increase, speedometer increase however vehicle does not increase speed, then all of a sudden vehicle will increase at high rate of speed. This is dangerous and could severely injure someone. I have brought vehicle to dealership 3 times and each time dealership service department states the vehicle is not showing any error codes. Dealership will not investigate any further unless I pay out of pocket to maybe find an warranty covered issue.
Hood was inadvertently released by driver due to hood latch release's location next to the fuel door release. Driver then pulled out of gas station onto street. While traveling under 15 miles per hour and within a block, the hood flew upward, obscuring the driver's view, causing damage to the hood, fenders, and cowl filler pieces. Damage has been inspected by the insurance appraiser/body shop manager, who confirmed the hood release safety latch was "frozen" and only became operative after manually manipulating it several times. The same individual mentioned this was the second Rogue in less than a year where he had noted hood damage, again without affecting the windshield or the roof. Cause of damage in that case was only learned after the appraiser had questioned the driver and the driver mentioned that the hood had flown up in a prior unrelated incident.
Transmission failure at 100,000 miles
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the driver's and passenger's side doors would not unlock automatically with the unlock door switch from the driver's side front door. Additionally, the driver's and passenger's side windows failed to roll up or down as needed. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that she noticed that the papers on her sun visor were significantly moist and the headliner was stained. The contact later noticed that the carpet was soaked and that the water stains had extended from the headliner to the interior door liner. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised the contact to vacuum the water out of the carpet. The contact vacuumed the carpet however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while driving in the rain, water was leaking from the ceiling onto the front driver's and passenger's seats, the front driver's door, and the front passenger's door. The contact stated that the failure had caused mold to develop on the carpet and on some other parts inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who informed the contact that the carpet would be replaced at her own expense. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the front driver's power seat was inoperative and she had smelled a burning odor. The contact received the notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
My brakes locked up on me and now my brake pad flew off
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
My fuel gauge does not regard fuel consumption nor measure fuel at all. I do not have any idea if I am on empty or half fuel. Fuel indicators just quit functioning and will cost me over $1,100 to fix. The car is 6 years old and only has 50,639 miles.
I was driving down the tollway at night and alone when my car stopped accelerating but my RPM's went up to 5,000. I managed to pull over and shut it off . Tried again, it would not go. Tried 3 x and it finally went. I shut off the air and drive slowly so I could safely complete my trip. When I went to the Nissan dealer. They told me it was the transmission. That is is a know condition on this model. The service writer actually told me these keep them in business. Apparently the transmission cooler is too small and they overheat. They told want almost $6,000 to repair the vehicle that is probably not even worth that anymore. How can they not have a recall on a know defect? If you google it there are numerous service bulletins yet no recall for repair. I am so disappointed. In this difficult time of our lives I am without a car and left with a huge repair. As of today the car is at the dealer. Jim M'Lady Nissan in Crystal Lake, IL. I do not have the bill, we have just spoke over the phone.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER EXITING A HIGHWAY RAMP AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTION SOON AFTER EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL AND THAT THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE WAS EXPIRED. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,754.
DRIVER'S SEAT SHIFT BACKWARDS AND FORWARDS DURING HARD ACCELERATION OR DECELERATION. DEALER SAYS THAT THEY NOTICE IT BUT CAN'T DO ANYTHING EXCEPT TIGHTEN THE BOLTS, WHICH DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, AND IT WOULD BE VERY DISTRACTING IN A REAL EMERGENCY.
WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR 2 YEARS AGO, THE AC WENT OUT THE DAY AFTER WE PURCHASED IT. THE DEALER FINALLY GOT IT FIXED AFTER ABOUT 3 MONTHS OF TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS. LAST MONTH IT WENT OUT AGAIN. THEY REPLACED THE COMPRESSOR UNDER WARRANTY; I PAID LABOR AND FOR A NEW AC BELT. NOW IT IS OUT AGAIN AFTER LESS THAN 6 WEEKS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME BECAUSE I CANNOT DRIVE WITH WINDOWS DOWN. THE LAST TIME I TRIED THAT, A YELLOWJACKET FLEW IN AND STUNG ME, RESULTING IN A TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM OTHER ROGUE OWNERS, AND I HOPE THAT YOU WILL MAKE NISSAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE FAULTY AC IN 2015 AND 2016 ROGUES. THE DATE BELOW IS THE DATE OF THE MOST RECENT TIME THE AC FAILED.
when i got the car my speakers were out and the brakes were bad i been to the nissan dealership to get my recall fix but they always tell me they don’t have the parts I don’t drive the vehicle anymore after I found out about the recall two years after I purchased the vehicle it’s putting me in my family at risk because I was driving a recall safety hazard vehicle for years without me knowing
AS I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET MY CAR ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF COMPLETELY WHILE IN DRIVE. RADIO STOPPED, NO WARNING LIGHTS, ALL ELECTRICAL SEEMED TO DIE, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES SEEMED ALL TO BE GONE. NO DASH LIGHTS ARE ON. THE CAR STARTED UP AFTER TRYING 3 TIMES WITHOUT RESULTS. IT HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION THAT I WROTE OFF AS A FLUKE. NOW I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT.
THIS MODEL HAS A WIDELY KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE MOONROOF LEAKING/CLOGGING DUE TO A POOR DESIGN. DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF WATER COLLECTED, IT CAN POUR INSIDE THE CABIN ON THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER. WHEN BRIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP (NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE) CLOGGED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, THE TECHNICIANS CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW. I'VE HAD WATER SOAKING THE HEADLINER, COMING OUT FROM WHERE THE SUNGLASSES HOLDER AND LIGHTS ARE LOCATED, FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE DRAIN IS, AND ALONG SIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE FRAME. LIVING IN FLORIDA, WHERE THE HUMIDITY IS ALWAYS HIGH, THIS IS A PERFECT BREEDING GROUND FOR MOLD AND OTHER BACTERIA.
STEERING FELT FUNNY AND WOULD NOT STAY IN LINE. THIS WAS NOTICED BY MULTIPLE DRIVERS. TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO SUTHERLIN NISSAN OF FORT MYERS, THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BROKEN STEERING COLUMN AND REPLACED IT. DURING REPLACEMENT CUSTOMER WAS INFORMED THAT A SCREW WAS LOOSE ON THE AIRBAG AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS 50 XXX MILES ON IT AND HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN ON FLORIDA ROADS. CUSTOMER PRIMARILY USES BACK AND FORTH IN TOWN ON SHORT TRIPS < 15 MILES.
I WAS IN A SMALL PARKING LOT FOR A PLAYGROUND IN WAYLAND, MA. I WAS DRIVING VERY SLOWLY AS KIDS CAN COME OUT OF NOWHERE. I FOUND A SPOT TO PARK ON THE LEFT, SO I TURNED MY WHEELS AND WENT IN. TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP, I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE. SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATE, AND GO THROUGH THE CHAIN LINK FENCE, WITH THE ENGINE MAKING A ROARING SOUND. I IMMEDIATELY PUSHED HARDER ON THE BRAKE, AS THE CAR WENT THROUGH THE FENCE. THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHEN I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE HARDER TO THE FLOOR.
Passenger seat is intermittently not registering that someone is sitting in the seat. Airbag light flashes however dealership has no idea why. Invoice says "spiral cable had a open in the windings causing code to set" On going issues with airbag sensors.
2015 NISSAN ROGUE SLIGHTLY OVER 5 YEARS OLD, LESS THAN 60K MILEAGE. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN HIT OR INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT. AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. DIAGNOSED BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AS REPLACEMENT REQUIRED AT OWNERS EXPENSE. THE AIR BAGS SHOULD NOT BE FAILING ON A LIGHTLY USED VEHICLE MODESTLY OVER 5 YEARS OLD THAT HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE.
ON MONDAY FEBRUARY 22 2021[XXX] STARTED THE ROGUE AND BEGAN TO BACK UP OUT OF OUR HOME DRIVEWAY ([XXX]). SHE THEN STOPPED AND PUT THE ROGUE INTO PARK/SHIFTED INTO PARK/P, AND CHECKED TO MAKE SEE THE BACK DOOR OF THE HOUSE WAS LOCKED. THE DOOR WAS LOCKED, WHEN SHE TURNED AROUND AND WENT OUT OUR GATE, APPROX 10 SECONDS AFTER PARKING THE ROGUE, THE ROGUE WAS SLOWLY ROLLING BACKWARDS OUT OF OUR PARKING SPACE. [XXX] WAS ABLE TO CATCH UP TO THE ROGUE AND GET IN AND APPLY THE BRAKE, BUT NOT BEFORE IT HAD ROLLED APPROX. 40 FT, STRIKING OUR NEIGHBORS FENCE. THE ROGUE WAS NOT FULLY IN REVERSE, AND NOT FULLY UNDER THE POWER OF THE ENGINE. LAUREN WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CATCH UP TO THE ROGUE UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS. IT ROLLED SLOWLY, AND SHE WAS ABLE TO CATCH UP IN DRESS WORK SHOES WITH HEELS. WE HAVE TRIED TO REPLICATE THIS BUT CANNOT. THE ROGUE IS SCHEDULED FOR INSPECTION AT HUDSON NISSAN OF N. CHARLESTON SC THURSDAY FEBRUARY 25TH. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WORKED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REEDMAN TOLL NISSAN OF DREXEL HILL (5018 TOWNSHIP LINE RD, DREXEL HILL, PA 19026; (610) 449-2800) AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,336.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN JOHN TURNER BUTLER IN JACKSONVILLE, FL, THE SUNROOF SHATTERED AND GLASS SPEWED THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY TWO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF TWO YEARS OLD IN THE VEHICLE. GLASS ENDED UP IN THEIR CAR SEAT AND THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE.
I PURCHASED MY 2015 IN 2016 WE ARE IN JANUARY 2021 AND MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR STOPPED WORKING NO DAMAGE IT JUST WOULDN'T UNLOCK. I WAS GOING TO GET GAS AND ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WHILE PARKED AND OFF AND THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN
APPARENTLY, ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC AT JAMIE'S TIRE IN XENIA OHIO, ALL WHEEL DRIVE NISSANS ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ELECTRICAL COUPLER GOING BAD. THIS CAUSES IT TO SLIP AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DIFFERENTIAL. ACCORDING TO HIM I AM NOT THE FIRST WITH THIS PROBLEM
The transmission started to fail at 70,000 miles. I am now getting a full replacement at 90,000. I have owned the car the entire time and have been adamant about changing transmission fluid and oil. At 75,000 miles my transmission started to slip at 75 MPH, slowing me down to 30 MPH on a highway. A snowplow almost rear ended me and there was no where I could go as it was a blizzard. Since and before, it has jerked pretty hard, shutting in traffic and while driving highway speeds. It is ridiculous and dangerous to have this as issue in a relatively new car. It should be illegal to sell defective cars and Nissan needs to be held accountable.
WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE MY CAR'S SHIFTER WILL GO INTO LOW GEAR OR ANOTHER LEVEL. THIS HAS CAUSED MY CAR TO STALL OUT, AND A DEAD BATTERY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING ONLY.
THERE IS CORROSION IN THE TAILGATE/LATCH AREA. CAR LOCKS OPEN AND CLOSE WHILE DRIVING. TRUNK DOES NOT OPEN WITH KEY FOB OR FROM INSIDE THE CAR.
THE MOON ROOF ON MY 2015 NISSAN ROGUE EXPLODED ITSELF. WITH 2 KIDS (5 AND 2 YEAR OLD) ALL 4 OF US WERE DRIVING TO LEAVENWORTH. PRETTY CLOSE TO STEVENS PASS, THE MOON ROOF EXPLODED WITH A BANG SOUND. THE GLASS PIECES SHATTERED ALL OVER THE CAR. EVEN ON THE KIDS AND KIDS CAR SEATS. FOR A FEW SECONDS I HAD NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED. FORTUNATELY I DIDNT PANIC AND NOTHING WENT WRONG. ALL OF US ARE FINE. I HAD TO CONTINUE DRIVING LIKE TAT TILL THE NEXT STOP WHERE I BOUGHT TRASH CAN COVERS, DUCT TAPES ETC AND PATCHED IT UP. MY INSURANCE DIDN'T HAVE COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE SO THEY WON'T COVER THE EXPENSE. THOUGH I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM NISSAN, NISSAN WONT COVER THE EXPENSE AS GLASS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THAT. I HAVE HAD LIKE 12-13 CALLS WITH NISSAN AND THE DEALER AS IT IS CLEARLY NOT MY FAULT AND NISSAN HAS TO INVESTIGATE INTO THE QUALITY OF THE GLASS. BUT THEY REFUSED TO PAY.
