THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TIM DAHLE NISSAN BOUNTIFUL (955 N 400 E, NORTH SALT LAKE, UT 84054) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THE DEALER WAS AWAITING REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
DURING VEHICLE INSPECTION, NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED PROBLEM WITH FLASHING PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. TECHNICIAN FOUND DTC P1564, B0001, B0002 AND RECOMMENDED REPLACING AIRBAG MODULE AND SPIRAL CABLE. DURING MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, MANUFACTURER IS DENYING RESPONSIBILITY FOR DEFECT OF FACTORY INSTALL ISSUE. SUPERVISOR LINDSAY APPEARED TO LINK LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY TO DRIVE TRAIN, AS IF STANDARD IS THAT SAFETY IS NO LONGER A CONCERN IF VEHICLE 5 YEARS OLD HAS TRAVELLED 100,000 MILES DESPITE AIRBAG NEVER BEING DEPLOYED. THIS IS NOT A 'WEAR AND TEAR' ISSUE AND NISSAN IS REFUSING TO CONSIDERED THAT THIS VIN WAS MISSED IN RECALL ANNOUNCED PREVIOUSLY. WAS DRIVING ALONG VEHICLE IN MOTION ON WAY HOME FROM WORK ON A FALL EVENING THAT GETS DARK PRETTY QUICKLY. SLOWED DOWN AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DIED WHILE GOING OVER AN INCLINE. VEHICLE REFUSED TO MOVE FORWARD AND ALMOST ROLLED BACK INTO THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. THIS HAPPENED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. IT WAS PRETTY DANGEROUS BEING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR INTERSECTION WHILE IT WAS DARK. HAD TO GET POLICE TO BLOCK THE RIGHT LANE TO AVOID BEING REAR ENDED. EVENTUALLY GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 NISSAN ROGUE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE SPEED DROPPED AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 60. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO NEAREST REPAIR SHOP WITH HAZARD LIGHTS ON. BY THE TIME I DROVE INTO REPAIR, THE SPEED WAS DOEN TO 45 MPH. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I HAD THE NISSAN TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP. THEY SAID I WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. BEFORE I AUTHORIZED THE TRANSMISSION SHOP TO REPAIR, I CHECKED FOR RECALLS OR ISSUES WITH NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS AN ISSUE, BUT THAT IT INCLUDED 2015 NISSAN ROGUES MANUFACTURED UNTIL MARCH 2015. MINE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN JULY 2015. MY PROBLEM WAS EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE FROM THEIR "ISSUE" WHERE THEY HAD EXPANDED THE WARRANTY FOR THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE.
MY HEATING SYSTEM STOPPED FUNCTIONING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS $536 TO REPAIR. THAT DIDN'T FIX THE ENTIRE PROBLEM AND IT'S NOW $1200 MORE TO FIX THE REMAINDER OF THE PROBLEM. I DON'T HAVE $1200 SO I'M FORCED TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO DEFROST THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. IT ALSO DOESN'T HEAT THE VEHICLE PROPERLY SO I'M BUNDLED UP TO DRIVE IT.
DUE TO COVID, WORKING FROM HOME, SHOPPING SOLELY ONLINE AND HAVE VIRTUAL MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. RARELY USE CAR AND IT SAT UNDRIVEN FOR WEEKS. WATER ACCUMULATING IN MOONROOF DRAIN CAUSED HAZARDOUS MOLD ISSUE IN CAR INTERIOR. WAS NOT WARNED AND DEALER DID NOT APPARENTLY CHECK DRAINS. HAVE BREATHING ISSUES AND MOLD IS A HEALTH ISSUE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND HEALTH HAZARD. AT MINIMUM BUYERS SHOULD BE WARNED THIS CAN HAPPEN. IT IS NOWHERE IN OWNERS OR SERVICE MANUALS. REPAIR IS APPROX 1/3 PRICE OF A NEW CAR. INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER. CHECK DRAINS DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE VISITS.
I WAS TURNING ON A ROAD WITH A 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND MY CAR STARTED SHUDDERING AND THERE WAS WEAK ACCELERATION HAVING TROUBLE GETTING UP TO SPEED. I HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE THE TURN BUT THE CARS WEAK ACCELERATION CAUSED MY FAMILY TO BE IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION, WE COULD HAVE BEEN HIT. CAR VIBRATIONS, SHUDDERING, WEAK ACCELERATION, AND A LOUD NOISE WAS DETECTED IN THE CVT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO CHECK THE ISSUE, AND THE REPAIR SHOP STATED I WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THESE TRANSMISSIONS HAVE A HISTORY OF PROBLEMS CAUSING A DRIVER AND PASSENGERS TO BE PUT AT RISK.
MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS APPROX 65,000 MILES ON IT AND RECENTLY STARTED MAKING LOUD NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING ABOVE 45 MPH. TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER AND INFORMED A NEW TRANSMISSION IS NEEDED. NO RECALL IS LISTED FOR THIS ISSUE DESPITE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS POSTED WITH SIMILAR ISSUE ON VARIOUS WEBSITES. NISSAN WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM WHEN I SPOKE TO CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT.
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHILE ON INTERSTATE AT SPEED. TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND DECELERATION. ALL NISSAN RECOMMENDED SERVICE WAS FOLLOWED.
ELECTRICAL HARNESS WIRING BACK OF THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE CLIMBING A HILLY TERRAIN DURING RAIN CONDITIONS ON THE ISLAND MOUNTAIN ROAD OF ST.THOMAS VI (CHARLOTTE AMALIE USVI).
WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AT 9:00 A.M. DURING MORNING TRAFFIC. APPROACHED A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH STOPPED TRAFFIC AND WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD NO BRAKES. I SWERVED TO AVOID STOPPED TRAFFIC AND ENDED UP IN A LANDSCAPING AREA, STILL NO BRAKES AND CRASHED INTO A TREE HEAD ON. AS A RESULT THERE WAS A LANDSCAPER WORKING IN THE AREA WHERE I CRASHED AND HE WAS STRUCK. HE SUFFERED BROKEN BONES AND I SUFFERED A DISLOCATED SHOULDER, FRACTURE STERNUM AND BRUISED TAIL BONE FROM THE CAR GOING AIR BORN. IT APPEARS THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY FAILED AND DETACHED FROM THE BRAKE BOOSTER PUSH-ROD/MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY. WE YOU PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IS STAYS DOWN ON THE FLOOR AND DOES NOT COME BACK UP. YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY MOVE IT UP AND DOWN AND THERE IS A METAL TO METAL CLICKING SOUND DURING MOVEMENT. THE HOOD LATCHES IN THE LOCK BUT IS SHAKES REALLY BAD WHILE DRIVING ESPECIALLY WHILE ON I-10 HIGHWAY IT SEEMS AS IF IT CATCHES ONE GOOD WIND IT WILL COME OUT AND SHATTER MY WINDSHIELD!
Ac get turned on every time I turn the heat on in the vehicle driver side very cool air other side side warm air and I'm not the only person having this problem two more vehicle of the same makes and model it. Is a safety issues please consider to recall this problem with the heat
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70MPH WHEN I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT AND THEN MY SUNROOF EXPLODED CAUSING LARGE CHUNKS OF GLASS TO GO FLYING IN THE AIR AND ON THE HIGHWAY BEHIND ME. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN SIGHT.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY SRS LIGHT CAME ON. IT BLINKS ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY. I AM NOT SURE IF IT CAME ON AND STAYED ON WHEN I STARTED THE CAR OR IF IT CAME ON WHEN I NOTICED IT AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES TIME.
2015 NISSAN ROGUE COMPLETELY LOST POWER ON A PARKWAY ON OCTOBER 26TH AROUND 7PM DURING A RAIN STORM. LUCKILY THERE WAS LOW TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF A NEARBY RAMP HOWEVER WINDOW-SHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING AND BARELY ABLE TO SEE. AFTER COMING TO A STOP THE CAR WAS CUT OFF AND RESTARTED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR OTHER WARNINGS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. AFTER A FEW DAYS THE CAR HAD NO ISSUES AND THEN IT CUT OFF AGAIN ON OCTOBER 4TH WHILE AT A STOPLIGHT LATE AT NIGHT. I NOTIFIED NISSAN OF AMERICA OF THE ISSUE ON SEPTEMBER 27TH AND THEY MENTIONED THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR CAMPAIGNS HOWEVER I SEE SEVERAL REPORTS OF THE SAME POWER FAILURE ISSUE ONLINE. LOCAL NISSAN DEALER HAS HAD THE CAR SINCE OCTOBER 5TH AND CANNOT DUPLICATE ISSUE OR FIND CODES INDICATING WHAT COULD CAUSE THE POWER FAILURE. THIS IS A VEY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NISSAN SHOULD KNOW WHAT COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO COMPLETELY POWER OFF AND ALL CONTROL IS LOSS BRIEFLY WHILE DRIVING. CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 103,000 TO 106,000 MILES AND ALL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE ALONG WITH NO PREVIOUS SERIOUS ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION ISSUES.
ON THE EVENING OF SEPT. 23, 2020, I WAS ON A CITY STREET IN MYSTIC AND HAD EXTREME DIFFICULTY SEEING, TO THE POINT WHERE I HIT A CURB. MY PASSENGER ASKED ME IF I HAD MY HEADLIGHTS ON AND I ASSURED HER I HAD, BUT IT DID NOT APPEAR THAT WE COULD SEE CLEARLY AT ALL. SHE THOUGHT I PROBABLY HAD PLASTIC HEADLIGHT COVERS THAT HAD DISCOLORED TOOK CAR TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND ESTABLISHED THAT WAS THE PROBLEM BUT THEY COULD NOT JUST REMOVE "GLAZE" FROM OUTSIDE SINCE GLAZE WAS INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT. QUOTED $1,000 TO REPAIR. CALLED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS AND THEY AGREED TO ADJUST COST TO APPROXIMATELY $500; I WILL HAVE REPAIR DONE SINCE I NEED TO DRIVE AT NIGHT ON OCCASION; HOWEVER, THIS IS A TOTALLY UNSAFE SITUATION IF LEFT UNADDRESSED. I DO BELIEVE THIS WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND PROBABLY SHOULD BE A "RECALL ISSUE"
VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER TO ACCELERATE WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS HIGH OR THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN USE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. INSTALLATION OF AN EXTERNAL TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER FIXED THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE WITHOUT THIS ADDITION.
OUR 2015 NISSAN ROGUE HAD TO HAVE AN INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY BASICALLY THE TOP OF THE ENGINE DUE TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY IS MADE OF PLASTIC!!! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PUT PLASTIC PARTS ON THE TOP OF AN ENGINE??? ALSO, THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION CAMERA WHICH IS PLACED IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR BY THE NISSAN SYMBOL WHERE IT CAN BE HIT BY A ROCK OR A BUG AS I WAS TOLD. WHY WOULD THIS CAMERA NOT BE PROTECTED FROM THIS BEING DAMAGED SO EASILY. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY COST $1,071.48 TO REPAIR. IT WAS GOING TO COST $1,200.00 TO REPAIR THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION CAMERA. WE KNEW THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE DUE TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE INVOICES TO SHOW THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY. WE DID NOT ELECT TO HAVE THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION CAMERA FIXED SINCE IT IS IN A NON-PROTECTED AREA.
NOTICED TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WHEN GOING INTO FIRST GEAR, SPECIFICALLY WHEN TAKING OFF FROM AT A COMPLETE STOP. IF IN ECO MODE IT IS WORSE. SO FAR ONLY DOING IT IN 1ST GEAR, WORRIED IT WILL GIVE OUT ON HIGHWAY LIKE I HAVE SEEN OTHERS. TOOK TO NISSAN TO HAVE DIAGNOSED RECENTLY AND TOLD I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION WITH JUST OVER 110K MILES. THEY DO NOT WANT TO COVER IT AS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THERE ARE RECALLS IN OTHER ROGUES FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE, OF COURSE NOT MINE.

THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED THE SAME INFORMATION. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CLAIM NUMBER AND REFERRED TO HER INSURANCE COMPANY TO REPAIR THE SUN ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,843.
SIMPLE PROCESS: PROGRAMMED A KEY , TURN INTO A NIGHTMARE. HAVE TO REPLACE A BCM AND ECM IN ORDER TO MAKE A SMART KEY. THE OLD BCM AND BCM ARE BRICKED AFTER ERASED AND READY TO PROGRAMMING. MANUFACTURER KNOW THIS DEFECT BUT WON'T PUT ON RECALL. IT AFFECTS MOST OF 2015 NISSAN ROUGE AND UP
2015 NISSAN ROGUE CVT HAS BAD HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THIS BEGINS TO HAPPEN ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR ABOUT A HALF HR.
I UNLOCKED MY CAR TO GET IN AND THEN WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, IT MADE THIS CLICKING SOUND. THE BATTERY TURNED ON SO I KEPT TRYING TO PUSH ON THE BRAKES AND THEN PRESS THE START BUTTON AND IT STILL WOULDN'T WORK. I DID THIS ABOUT 6-9 TIMES AND THEN FINALLY THE CAR TURNED ON. AFTER A FEW SECOND THE A/C TURNED OFF AND THEN TURNED BACK ON. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS IT DOESN'T DETECT THE KEY IN THE FOB. I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE BATTERY IN MY KEY FOB, I HAD IT LOOKED OVER BY 2 MECHANICS AND MY BATTERY AND START AND ENGINE LOOK GOOD AND ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. IT HAPPENED EVERY TIME AND MY CAR TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND QUICKLY TURNED BACK ON.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal without warning. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact continued to experience intermittent hesitation while driving at various speeds without warning. She then took the vehicle to another mechanic who informed her of a TSB on the vehicle for the transmission. The contact declined to have any repairs performed on the vehicle at that time. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel as the vehicle hesitated. The contact took the vehicle back to the mechanic who informed her that the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
JJERKY ON LOW SPEED AND SUDDEN HESITATION WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY
OUR CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE GOING 70 DOWN THE HIGHWAY. COMPLETELY OUT OF THE BLUE, NO PRIOR SYMPTOMS. NO ACCELERATION. ALMOST GOT INTO MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. NISSAN WILL NOT PAY ANYTHING TO HELP US WITH THIS, DESPITE THE THOUSANDS OF SUBMITTED ISSUES WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS. OUR FAMILY HAS 3 NISSANS AND 2 HAVE HAD CVT FAILURES. WE WILL NEVER BUY NISSAN'S AGAIN.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V032000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.*DT*JB
2015 NISSAN ROUGE A/C IS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR. PURCHASED THE CAR 7 MONTHS AGO (IN WINTER TIME). NOW THAT THE WEATHER IS HOT AND I NEED THE COOL AIR IT HAS NOT BEEN WORKING I TOOK IT IN AND FOUND THAT THE A/C O RINGS AT EVAP WERE LEAKING AND HAD IT REPLACED AND RECHARGED. STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH IT. IT WILL NOT BLOW COLD AIR AT 60 DEGREES AND IF THE A/C BUTTON IS NOT PUSHED AND LEFT ON THE AIR COMING THROUGH HAS A FOUL SMELL TO IT.
MY CAR STARTED SHAKING WHILE IN REVERSE AND SLOW TO SHIFT GEARS WHILE ACCELERATING AT ABOUT 60K MILES I TOOK IT INTO MULTIPLE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AT 80K MILES AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WAS ON THE WAY TO NEEDING A NEW TRANSMISSION AT 80K! AND THEY HAD SEEN LOTS OF OTHER CARS LIKE MINE BUT THE WARRANTY JUST LAPSED. NOW AT 98K MILES MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD THE CODE RAN TO FIND OUT IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. ANOTHER SIDE EFFECT IS MY GAS MILEAGE HAS DROPPED TO ABOUT 20 MILES TO THE GALLON HIGHWAY .

TOOK MY NISSAN TO MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD AND I'VE JUST HAD THE CAR FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS . I BOUGHT IT AND IT HAD 82,000 AND NOW AT 116,000 THE TRANSMISSION IS ALREADY BAD, THAT IS NOT RIGHT AT ALL. I BOUGHT THIS CAR THINKING I WOULDN'T HAVE NOTHING BUT REGULAR MAINTENANCE TO DO IN IT NOT A FREAKING $3000 TO $4000 MAYBE MORE TO PUT INTO IT. MY GOD I PAYED A LOT FOR THIS CAR AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT OF IT . THAT'S UNCALLED FOR. NISSAN NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM . WHEN I GET IN THE CAR AND START IT UP IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY LOUD SOUNDS THEN WHEN YOU PUT IT IN DRIVE AND ACCELERATE IT MAKES A LOUD ROARING SOUND. AS YOU ACCELERATE IT GETS LOUDER. NISSAN ROGUE 2015 - SUNROOF/MOONROOF SHATTERED SUDDENLY. WE WERE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 65MPH; THE WEATHER WAS SUNNY, APPROX. LOW 80'S. NOTHING WAS IRREGULAR ABOUT THE FEEL OF THE CAR, WE WERE NOT DRIVING UNDER AN OVERPASS, OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WERE NOT ULTRA-CLOSE TO US, AND WE DIDN'T DRIVE OVER ANY OBJECTS, THEN SUDDENLY, WE HEARD A LOUD BANG OUT OF NOWHERE WHICH HARSHLY STARTLED US AND GOT OUR HEARTS POUNDING. AFTER REALIZING THE CAR WAS STILL OPERATING NORMALLY (IE: NO FLAT TIRE, NO STEAM FROM THE ENGINE, NO WARNING LIGHTS ETC.) WHEN WE STOPPED TO LOOK OVER THE CAR FOR ANY SIGN OF DAMAGE, WE FINALLY DISCOVERED CRACKED AND LIFTED GLASS ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE PANORAMIC MOONROOF. LOOKING CLOSER WE FOUND NUMEROUS MORE LONG CRACKS SO WE OPENED THE INTERIOR SUNSHADE TO LOOK UP AT THE GLASS FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR, AND WERE ASTONISHED TO DISCOVER THE ENTIRE REAR PORTION OF THE SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED INTO LITTLE TEMPERED PIECES. WE WERE LUCKY I DIDN'T SWERVE AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AFTER THE THUNDEROUS BANG AND/OR THAT THE GLASS DIDN'T DANGEROUSLY CASCADE ON TOP OF US WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A MAJOR MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUE AND DEFECT. AFTER RESEARCHING WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A SUNROOF TO RANDOMLY SHATTER, I'M APPALLED TO LEARN THAT THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE ON NISSAN VEHICLES FOR YEARS! MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP/SERVICE CENTER SAID THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO FIX THIS OBVIOUS CONCERN?! WE PAY EXTRA TO HAVE A CAR WITH A SUN/MOONROOF, ONLY TO DISCOVER AFTER THE FACT, THAT THEY ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO EXPLODING SUDDENLY AND RANDOMLY AND SHATTERING INTO PIECES WHICH I'M NOW INFORMED IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX?
AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF HIGHWAY DRIVING IN HOT WEATHER, THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING PAST 3000 RPM AND IMMEDIATELY BEGAN SLOWING IN TRAFFIC DUE TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING. I WAS ALMOST UNABLE TO MAKE IT UP A HILL AND GET OFF FOR A GAS STATION TO STOP.
OUR 2015 ROGUE HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINED BY THE SAME NISSAN DEALERSHIP SINCE OUR FAMILY PURCHASED IT. IN JUNE 2020 THE AIR BAG DASH LIGHT CAME ON. IT BLINKS WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR DEALERSHIP AND HAD SOME TESTS DONE, AND ON THE ADVICE OF THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED A PART (STEP ONE IN THE REPAIR PROCESS). THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE, AS THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO BLINK, BUT GAVE NO ERROR CODES. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE AIR BAG MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY, AND DRIVING THE VEHICLE MAY NOT BE SAFE. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON JUNE 19. I WAS ASSIGNED A REPRESENTATIVE WHO ASSURED ME SHE WOULD WORK WITH ME TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER, AND MY DEALERSHIP STARTED COMMUNICATION WITH NISSAN TECHLINE. THEY HAD SOME RECOMMENDATIONS, BUT NO SOLUTIONS. THE MOSTLY LIKELY ISSUE IN THEIR ESTIMATION IS A FAULTY OCS. I FORWARDED THE TECHLINE RECOMMENDATION TO MY REPRESENTATIVE, BUT SHE HAD NOT RESPONDED TO NUMEROUS CONTACT ATTEMPTS. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED ALMOST DAILY TO CONNECT WITH HER DEPARTMENT, BUT ALSO RECEIVED NO REPLY. THE FAULTY OCS APPEARS TO A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN VEHICLES, AND WAS CAUSE FOR AT LEAST 3 RECALLS. AFTER CHECKING MY VIN, NO ACTIVE RECALLS ARE APPARENT, BUT THIS IS AN IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A RED LIGHT AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE CONTACT SHE SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY BY HITTING THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND HAD TO HAVE SURGERY TO STOP THE BLEEDING. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER DEEMED THE VEHICLE WAS LOSS. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 152,000.
THREE TIMES NOW THE CAR HAS SHUT DOWN ENTIRELY WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. ENGINE STOPS RUNNING, ALL LIGHTS AND POWER ARE OFF, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES ARE LOST. IT CREATES AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS SCENARIO. CAR WILL RESTART ALMOST IMMEDIATELY BUT YOU HAVE TO ROLL TO A STOP WITH NO POWER BRAKES OR STEERING, AS I SAID IT'S INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. HAPPENS MID-DRIVE, WITH CAR IN MOTION, INCLUDING AN INSTANCE GOING 70 MPH ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES OVER THE LAST TWO MONTHS. *TR
CAR STOPS ACCELERATING RANDOMLY. SOME DAYS IT WON'T GO OVER 60MPH WHILE I'M ALREADY DRIVING ON THE THRUWAY. OTHER DAYS IT WILL DROP SPEED FROM 70 TO 60 AND I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER ACCELERATION. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY.
I HAVE BEEN BRINGING MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR 4 YEARS COMPLAINING OF THE TRANSMISSION MESSING UP. ( WON'T GO AT RED-LIGHT, SHUDDERS WHEN TAKING OFF, WEIRD NOISES). THEY ALWAYS JUST TEST DROVE IT SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. I BROUGHT IT IN YESTERDAY FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND AGAIN COMPLAINED ABOUT TRANSMISSION. THE TECH COMES IN AND SAYS I NEED A NEW ONE AND IT HAD BEEN LIKE THAT FOR A WHILE. I BRING MY CAR THERE ALL THE TIME FOR SERVICE AND THEY LIE SAYING THEY CHECK EVERYTHING. WAS DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND WHILE GOING 65 ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE RPM ROSE FROM 2 TO 4 BUT THE CAR WAS NOT PICKING UP SPEED OR ACCELERATING. I DISENGAGED CRUISE CONTROL AND THE CAR WAS NOT RESPONDING TO ME PRESSING THE GAS, WHILE BEING ABLE TO COAST TO THE EXIT I HAD TO GO UP A SMALL HILL AND WAS A STRUGGLE. RPM NOT GOING OVER 2 AND JUST SLUGGISH TRYING TO CLIMB. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TO A GAS STATION CHECK FLUIDS AND ALL FLUIDS WERE FULL. I DROVE BACK HOME AND THE ONLY ISSUES I HAD WERE GOING UP HILLS WERE THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE OVER 2.5 TO 3 RPMS. *TR

ON THE TRUNK DOOR, THERE IS RUSTING, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE NISSAN EMBLEM. ON THE TOP OF THE TRUNK DOOR, ON THE SPOILER, THERE IS A LOT OF RUSTING AND SCRATCHES STARTED TO APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE, SOME OF THEM ARE VERY SMALL AND BETTER NOTICED WHEN LOOKING CLOSELY OR ZOOMING IN ON A PHOTO. SURFACE FEELS ROUGH. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO ANY CAR WASH PLACES. THE SCRATCHES AND RUSTING SEEM TO ONLY APPEAR AT THIS SPOT. MY OTHER VEHICLES, INCLUDING ANOTHER NISSAN, HAVE ALL BEEN TAKEN CARE THE SAME WAY AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THIS TYPE OF RUSTING. THE RUSTING WAS FIRST NOTICED IN LATE SPRING DURING COVID-19 QUARANTINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN MUCH, AND IT APPEARS TO HAVE GOTTEN WORSE SINCE THEN. NISSAN CALLED THIS A "COLOR DISTORTION", WHICH I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS SINCE THE SURFACE FEELS ROUGH. I TALKED TO A COLOR SPECIALIST AND HE IS CERTAIN THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. I ALSO DID RESEARCH ABOUT OTHER NISSAN OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, AND IT SEEMS TO BE COMMON. A VEHICLE SHOULD NOT START RUSTING LIKE THIS ONLY 5 YEARS IN USE.

MY CAR WAS IN MOTION WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN I REALIZED MY CAR WAS LOSING POWER WHILE I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE. MY CAR DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT IT DROPPED FROM 70 MPH DOWN TO 30 MPH GRADUALLY. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MOVE MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALL FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. WEEKS BEFORE I NOTICED MY RPM HAND JUMPING ERRATICALLY AND WHEN I WENT TO GET TO DIAGNOSTICS NO ONE COULD FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO NISSAN ON THE DAY THAT I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND I LOST ACCELERATION. I WAS INFORMED BY SEVERAL MECHANICS THAT IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION AND THAT NISSAN HAS AN ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSIONS AND IT WASN'T WORTH THE MONEY TO BE REPLACED.

THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO BYERLY NISSAN (4027 DIXIE HWY, LOUISVILLE, KY 40216) WHERE THEY HAD INSPECTED THE VEHICLE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS HOWEVER, THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
