The transmission gave out while in the middle of driving on I-4. The safety of the driver and everyone in the highway was put at risk since the car stopped running out of nowhere in a high traffic area. The vehicle has been inspected by a mechanic. A warning symbol popped up as soon as it happened. It says chassis control system error.
I own a 2015 Nissan Rogue Select S. I purchased the vehicle with 35,000 miles on it in 2016, a year and 1 month after it was first manufactured. From the day I drove it off the lot, I noticed an issue, where if my car was in gear, and stopped in traffic or at a light, with the A/C running, the RPMs would drop significantly and cause a judder, then the RPMs would return. After a few months of this, I took it back to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from, and was advised that they could not replicate what I was talking about and there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. It's been 7 years since then. While stopped at a light at the bottom of an offramp after driving down the freeway, with my 2 VERY young children in their car seats, vehicle failed to accelerate with the equivalent pressure placed on the accelerator. This caused the vehicle to "roll" through the intersection and having the green light change while I was still halfway through the intersection. When the oncoming traffic got their green a few were not paying close attention and I was nearly t-boned. This happened twice in the span of maybe a month and a half. No indication of failure. No lights on the dashboard, indicating an issue. Took it to a different Nissan dealership and had a diagnostic run, was advised it needs a new transmission and the code that came up was P1740. Vehicle has less than 81,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, per Nissan Consumer Affairs, my vehicle is "out of warranty" even with the extension that was just granted in June of 2022, my vehicles extended warranty under the class action was extended to Jan of 2022, but I was never made aware of the class action, nor given the opportunity to opt out of said action. Vehicle is still not repaired. Myself and kids are safe, but they both have a bit of PTSD from both incidents occurring. I'm lucky I can even get them to voluntarily get back into a car. let alone my car. I wish I never purchased it. It could have killed us more than once.
2015 NISSAN ROGUE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ILLUMINATED ENGINE LIGHT. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THAT IT WAS A COMMON OCCURENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WORKED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REEDMAN TOLL NISSAN OF DREXEL HILL (5018 TOWNSHIP LINE RD, DREXEL HILL, PA 19026; (610) 449-2800) AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,336.
OUR 2015 NISSAN ROGUE HAD TO HAVE AN INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY BASICALLY THE TOP OF THE ENGINE DUE TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY IS MADE OF PLASTIC!!! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PUT PLASTIC PARTS ON THE TOP OF AN ENGINE??? ALSO, THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION CAMERA WHICH IS PLACED IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR BY THE NISSAN SYMBOL WHERE IT CAN BE HIT BY A ROCK OR A BUG AS I WAS TOLD. WHY WOULD THIS CAMERA NOT BE PROTECTED FROM THIS BEING DAMAGED SO EASILY. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY COST $1,071.48 TO REPAIR. IT WAS GOING TO COST $1,200.00 TO REPAIR THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION CAMERA. WE KNEW THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE DUE TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE INVOICES TO SHOW THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY. WE DID NOT ELECT TO HAVE THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION CAMERA FIXED SINCE IT IS IN A NON-PROTECTED AREA.
MY MECHANIC DISCOVERED A LEAK IN THE REAR MAIN SEAL WHILE PERFORMING REGULAR SERVICE. I MADE AN APPT WITH NISSAN TO INSPECT IT ON 10/5/19. THEY TOLD ME IT LOOKED LIKE A "BUILD UP OF OIL FROM WHEN THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED AND THEY CLEANED IT" MY MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT IS PROBABLY NOT TRUE BECAUSE IT WAS DRIPPING WHEN HE DISCOVERED IT. WE WILL BE WATCHING IT CAREFULLY, BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF NISSAN AUTOS HAVING THESE LEAKS AND ALSO SERIOUS TRANSMISSION TROUBLE.

I AM DRIVING AND I COME TO THE RED LIGHT AND MY TEMPERATURE GAGE WENT TO HOT,IT WAS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STOP SO DROVE IT0.7 AND CALLED A TOW...THEY SAID IT WAS MY RADIATOR AND I PAID OVER 500 FOR THAT,LESS THAN A MONTH LATER MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BY SHULTS IN OLEAN SO I TOOK IT IN AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE HEAD GASKET,TAKE IT TO NISSAN JAMESTOWN, SO I HAD IT TOWED,,THEY SAID IT WAS COVERED BUT TODAY THEY SAID IT ISN'T
TRAVELING TO ARIZONA OVER THE MOUNTAIN HILL, ALL OF A SUDDEN CAR LOSS POWER. MY RPM STAYS BELOW 3 WITH GAS PEDAL ALL THE DOWN THE FLOOR AND MY ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. PULLED OVER AND SAT 30 MINUTES. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THE NEAREST SHOP AND PULLED THE ENGINE LIGHT CODE TO P0744.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE SPUTTERS THEN STALLS, CHASSIS CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. VEHICLE WILL RESTART AND IMMEDIATELY STALL AGAIN. EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AS THIS OCCURS WITH NO WARNING AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, TODAY IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEEAY IN A SNOW STORM AND I WAS UNABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD DUE TO SPEEDS. REPLACED MAF SENSOR WITH NO LUCK. SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON SAFETY ISSUE NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY NISSAN.
I PURCHASED A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS UP UNTIL A MONTH AGO. I EXPERIENCED THE TRANSMISSION JERKING, SHAKING AND SHUDDERING DURING NORMAL OPERATION. I WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION UPON COMPLETING A STOP SIGNAL OR AT THE CHANGE OF A GREEN LIGHT. I ALSO NOTICED FLUIDS LEAKING. UPON TAKING IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A CVT BODY REPLACEMENT. BECAUSE NISSAN EXTENDED THEIR WARRANTY ON SOME OF THEIR VEHICLES WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS, MY VEHICLE QUALIFIED BETWEEN THE YEAR/MILEAGE GIVEN. HOWEVER, NISSAN CHOSE NOT TO FIX IT, THAT IT WAS NOT ONE OF THE VEHICLES SPECIFIED. THEN WHY AM I HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES AS THE OTHER VEHICLES? MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND HAS 72K MILES. I'VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE OTHER THAN NOW WITH IT'S POOR PERFORMANCE, SHAKING AND NO POWER ACCELERATION. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE EVERY DAY WHEN I DRIVE MY VEHICLE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO FEEL THIS WAY BUT RATHER SAFE KNOWING I AM DRIVING A RELIABLE, SAFE VEHICLE.

ALSO ANTENNA FOR RADIO NUT WORKING WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC MSMUFACTURER ISSUE. READ ON LINE MANY PEOP,E EXPRESSING FRUSTRATION EITHER NISSAN ON SAME ISSUES. WILL GO TOYOTA FOR NEXT CAR.
IT LOSES THE "STRENGTH" WHEN I'M AT A STOPLIGHT OR HAVE MY CAR ON (BUT STATIONARY), IF I WANT TO CONTINUE DRIVING, I NEED TO TURN IT OFF TO RE-START THE SYSTEM. I ALREADY SENT IT TO A COMPUTER READING BUT NOTHING HAS COME OUT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
VEHICLE STALLS EVERYDAY EVER SINCE WE FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR IN FEBRUAR 2015. IT STALLS WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE ENGINE WARNING SIGNAL COMES ON AFTER THE STALL. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO 2 DIFFERENT SERVICE LOCATIONS (PUENTE HILLS NISSAN AND IMPERIO NISSAN IN IRVINE) BUT FAILED TO DETECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY STRESSFUL SITUATION WHERE THE TECHNICIANS ARE NOT ABLE TO DETECT THE ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, REQUIRING ME TO PULL OFF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE ENGINE SEIZED DUE TO A "FACTORY DEFECT" REQUIRING IT TO BE REBUILT. *JS
THERE IS AN ODOR COMING FROM THIS CAR. LEASED IT IN NOVEMBER 2014. BRAND NEW. IT IS NOW MAY AND THE SMELL IS STILL PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE. IT SMELLS LIKE A PLASTIC BURNING. IT MAKES ME NAUSEOUS AND OTHER PASSENGERS ARE ALSO NAUSEOUS. THE WINDOWS HAVE TO BE OPEN ALL THE TIME. IT GETS STUCK TO YOUR TONGUE AND YOU TASTE IT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.
