FALSE ACTIVATION OF THE 2018 NISSAN ROGUE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. BRAKE ALERT OFTEN GOES ON FOR NO REASON CAUSING CONCERN WHEN DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS ON A ~WEEKLY BASIS AND OFTEN HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES DURING ONE TRIP. IT STARTED SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE AND HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. WE BROUGHT TO NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT HELP FIX THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER A REBOOT REPAIR ON THE RADIO IN HIS VEHICLE, THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL REGARDING THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING RADAR SYSTEM THAT ACTIVATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE RADIO FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE BRAKING RADAR SYSTEM FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PETERS NISSAN OF NASHUA (S280 AMHERST ST, NASHUA, NH 03063, (603) 718-3851) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIO SYSTEM WAS THE MAIN HUB FOR THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS AND BACK UP CAMERA. THE RADIO HAD BEEN REPLACED THREE SEPERATE TIMES. BUT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS CONTINUED TO FAIL. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR THREE WEEKS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE RADIO TURNING ON AT HIGH VOLUME. THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS HAD MAJOR DEFECTS. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE FAILURES WORSENED WHEN THE REBOOTS WERE PERFORMED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH UNDER A BRIDGE, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ALARM SOUND WAS HEARD AND THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL ILLUMINATED DISPLAYING A MESSAGE THAT A CRASHED HAD OCCURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED THREE TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO ALSO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AND ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS A VIBRATION IN THE SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BURLESON NISSAN (300 NORTH BURLESON BOULEVARD, BURLESON, TEXAS, 76028, (817) 484-3500) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DEALER REPAIRED THE BRAKING SYSTEM FROM THE UNKNOWN RECALL NOTICE SHE RECEIVED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I PURCHASED A NEW 2018 ROUGE 12/17/18 WITH 57 MILES ON THE ODEMETER. ON THE WAY HOME THE BREAKS ENGAGED FOR NO APPARENT REASON ON THE HIGHWAY. THE NEXT MORNING THE BREAKS ENGAGED SEVERAL TIMES FOR NO REASON AND A BREAKING MALFUNCTION WARNING CAME ON. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. AFTER PICKING IT UP ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 75 MPH THE BREAKS RAPIDLY ENGAGE NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ ON MULTIPLE SITES THIS ISN'T AN ISOLATED CASE- NISSON IS GOING TO CAUSE A DEATH IF THEY DON'T TAKE ACTION.
CVT. RPMS RISING AND FALLING WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT, WITHOUT ANY REASON. THIS IS A MAJOR HAZARD! CAR FAILS TO RESPOND TO GAS PEDAL, CAUSING SERIOUS HAZARDOUS ISSUES ENTERING TRAFFIC. CAR LOSES POWER ON HIGHWAY. THIS IS NOT SAFE!

ON 12-3-18 I PURCHASED A 2018 ROGUE SV AWD FROM SWOPE NISSAN IN ELIZABETHTOWN KY WITH 1 MILE ON THE ODOMETER. FIVE DAYS LATER (12-8-18) THE CD PLAYER OVERHEATED AND STOPPED WORKING. THE CD BECAME SO HOT THAT I HAD TO USE A SILICONE OVEN MITT TO REMOVE IT!
NISSAN JUST RELEASED A CUSTOMER INITIATIVE LETTER PERTAINING TO THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM THAT STATES THE SYSTEM MAY ACTIVATE ON ITS OWN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STOP SUDDENLY. NISSAN APPARENTLY HAS A FIX FOR IT BUT IT HAS TO HAPPEN FIRST. THIS SYSTEM ALREADY HAD A PROGRAM UPDATE APPLIED TO IT AND THE SYSTEM STILL DEACTIVATED ITSELF AFTER DRIVING. THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SYSTEM AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. *DT MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED.*JB
THIS IS NOT ABOUT AN ACCIDENT. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IN THIS CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS COME ON WHEN I SIT IN THE SEAT. I AM A SMALL ADULT, AROUND 94 POUNDS. THE DEALERSHIP DID ALL THEY COULD. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO NISSAN ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE 2013. WHEN I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER RELATIONS I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO FOR ME. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP EXPECTED THAT THEY WOULD SEND AN ENGINEER TO FIX IT.
TWICE THE DIRVER ASSIST EMERGENCY BREAK STOPPED THE CAR WHEN NO OTHER CARS ARE AHEAD OF IT. ON 11/26 I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND WITHIN A FEW SECONDS THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST HIT ME. I CALLED THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AND THEY APPARENTLY KNOW OF THE ISSUE. THE DEALER SAID NISSAN IS AWARE BUT HAS NOT DONE A RECALL. I CALLED NISSAN THIS MORNING AND THEY ARE CLAIMING NOT TO BE AWARE. PEOPLE WILL DIE IF THIS EMERGENCY BREAK SENSOR IS NOT PROPERLY FIXED.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AIRBAGS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 38 MILES PER HOUR AND A 40 MILE-AN-HOUR ZONE GOING DOWN A SMALL GRADE NOBODY IN FRONT NOBODY BEHIND NOBODY BESIDE ME AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. IT THREW ME FOR WORD TWIST IN MY BODY THE SEATBELT HURT MY LEFT HIP IN MY LEFT SHOULDER BECAUSE IT WAS UNEXPECTED THERE WAS NOTHING THERE. THANKS
WHILE DRIVING CAR ON A QUIET STREET THAT HAS ONE LANE IN EACH DIRECTION AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE CAR VIBRATED, MADE A LOUD GRINDING SOUND, SEEMED TO PULL RIGHT AND BRAKED HARD VERY SUDDENLY WHICH WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT, SIDE OR BACK WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER A FEW DAYS LATER AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. I LATER CALLED DEALER WHERE I LEASED CAR AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD SEEN PROBLEMS WITH THE FORWARD COLLISION BRAKING SYSTEM THAT WOULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS INITIALLY TOLD THE COMPUTER DIDN'T SHOW A CODE SO THEY COULD DO NOTHING. I INSISTED THAT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND SPOKE TO SERVICE MANAGER WHO SAID THERE WAS AN UPDATE SO THEN THEY REPROGRAMMED RADAR AND ICC CONTROL. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL SOLVE PROBLEM AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AS MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS SHOW A FIX DOESN'T NECESSARILY WORK, PROBLEM REOCCURS AND THERE HAVE BEEN ACCIDENTS.. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL WITH CARS WITH THE AUTOMATIC COLLISION BRAKING SYSTEMS BEFORE DEATHS OCCUR.
I STARTED NOTICING THE HEADLIGHTS NOT TURNING ON UPON START UP IN MY GARAGE, THEY HAVE BEEN SET ON AUTO TURNON SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN AUGUST. DRIVING ON CLOUDY,OVERCAST, FOGGY DAYS NOT TURNING ON. NOV.22, APPROX. 6 PM, STARTED CAR, COULD SEE THAT HEADLIGHTS WERE ON WITH DRL ON. PUT IN GEAR, BACKED OUT, ON A CITY STREET, DROVE DOWN STREET ON HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF. HAD TO PARK, TURN VEHICLE ON/OFF, TURN HEADLIGHTS ON/OFF MANUALLY BEFORE THEY CAME BACK ON. THEY WERE SET ON AUTO WHEN THIS HAPPENED. TOOK IT IN TO DEALER NOV.26, THEY SAID NO RECALLS/UPDATES AND WORKING. TOOK OFF, DROVE 15-20 MINUTES AND THE DASH/RADIO/HEADLIGHTS ALL BLINKED OFF THEN BACK ON.??? OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THEY GO OFF IN THE DARK AND I'M DRIVING. RADIO/MAPS ISSUE. THE RADIO RANDOMLY STOPS PLAYING. ONE TIME TOUCHED MAPS BUTTON TO TURN OFF AND THE WHOLE THING FROZE UP. RADIO NOT WORKING, MAPS NOT WORKING. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY/OR CITY STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENS. TOTALLY RANDOM EVENTS. AFTER IT HAD BEEN TURNED OFF FOR APPROX. 20 MINUTES, RESTARTED CAR AND IT WAS WORKING AGAIN. ON NOV.23 RADIO QUIT PLAYING AGAIN. I'VE ALREADY TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALER 2 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. DROVE STRAIGHT TO DEALER, SETUP TO TAKE IN NOV.26. THEY CHECKED IT NO NEW UPDATES, OPENED TECHNICAL TICKET AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME. CALLED ME LATER THAT AFTERNOON, SAID NISSAN AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WORKING ON A FIX WHICH COULD BE NEW UPDATE ( NO GOOD), MAYBE REPLACE THE RADIO OR THE COMPUTER IN THE CAR. NO DATES GIVEN AS TO WHEN THIS MIGHT HAPPEN. TOLD JUST GO AHEAD AND DRIVE IT.THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN DRIVING. WHAT WITH THIS RADIO ISSUE AND NOW THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE FROM JOHN SISSON NISSAN IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH NISSAN'S FORWARD COLLISION MONITORING SYSTEM. WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE WITH NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME, THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED THE BRAKES. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME TO HAVE TO QUICKLY REACT AND ATTEMPT TO GO AROUND ME. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE INCIDENT, THE SYSTEM WENT INTO FAULT AND PRODUCED SEVERAL ERROR CODES. THE SYSTEM RESET ITSELF AFTER POWERING OFF THE VEHICLE. UNFORTUNATELY, A SIMILAR INCIDENT OCCURRED A FEW HOURS LATTER INTO THE TRIP. I SUBSEQUENTLY TURNED THE SYSTEM OFF UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT RADAR SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND WAS REPLACED. HOPEFULLY THIS HAS RESOLVED THE ISSUE. I HAVE DONE INVESTIGATING AND IT APPEARS THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT HAS BEEN REPORTED BEFORE AND NISSAN HAS ISSUED SEVERAL BULLETINS. I AM QUESTION IF EITHER NISSAN OR THE DEALER KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUES AND SOLD ME THE CAR ANYWAY OR EVEN WORSE, FAILED TO PERFORM MAINTENACE ON THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO DELIVERY. IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT ADDRESSED, IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A LOT OF ACCIDENTS. SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THESE VEHICLES. *DT*JB
WHILE MOVING AT BOTH HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR SPEEDS BETWEEN 20 -40 MPH, THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM WOULD ENGAGE WITHOUT WARNING AND WITHOUT AN OBJECT IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS WOULD CAUSE THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE, THE VEHICLE TO SHUDDER UNTIL I COULD RE-TAKE CONTROL, AND AN ERROR ALERT ON THE DASH BOARD. THE DEALER'S RECOMMENDATION WAS TO TURN OFF THE RADAR ASSISTED EMERGENCY BRAKING EVERY TIME I GOT INTO THE VEHICLE, AS IT WAS A "FLAWED TECHNOLOGY". AFTER MULTIPLE EVENTS AND TRIPS TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE PART AND UPDATED THE SOFTWARE.
WHILE MOVING AT 35MPH ON A PAVED SURFACE STREET WITH NO OBSTACLES/CARS IN FRONT OF ME OR BEHIND ME AND A GREEN LIGHT AT THE NEXT TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CAR (2018 NISSAN ROGUE S AWD) MADE A HIGH PITCHED NOISE AND CAME TO A FULL STOP. SEEMED AS IF THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. COULD HAVE CAUSED A REAR END COLLISION IF ANYONE WERE BEHIND ME OR IF I WERE ON THE HIGHWAY.
MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF CAR TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT APPEARING ON DASH AND IT SEEMED THE BRAKES WERE GOING ON TOO, WITHOUT BEING APPLIED. BUT I DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT COULD HAPPEN ON ITS OWN. IT HAPPENED ONE TIME ON EXPRESSWAY BUT I THOUGHT I MUST HAVE HIT A POTHOLE (CAR WAS PRETTY NEW THEN) AND HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES ON SURFACE STREETS. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TIRE PRESSURE WAS NOT EVEN AND THAT SENSOR WAS VERY SENSITIVE. WHY THE CAR WAS BRAKING WAS BEYOND ME, BUT WAS ATTRIBUTED TO UNEVEN TIRE PRESSURE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THIS TIME TIRE PRESSURE WAS AT 33 PSI ON ALL TIRES (RECOMMENDED NUMBER ON EACH TIRE), SO I BROUGHT IT TO DEALER AGAIN. THIS TIME IT WAS THOROUGHLY EXAMINED AND I WAS QUESTIONED THOROUGHLY ON THE SITUATIONS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE COLLISION MONITORING SYSTEM UNIT(S) WERE REPLACED. CAR HAD 9,800 MILES. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WAS FINE. SCARY SITUATION AND I MUST ADMIT I'M APPREHENSIVE TO BE DRIVING IT STILL. BUT, IT'S A LEASE SO I'M COMMITTED. I SHOULD FIND COMFORT IN THE FACT THAT THE PARTS WERE REPLACED, HOWEVER, I'M NOT YET COMFORTABLE. SO, I THOUGHT IT NEEDED TO BE REPORTED SO OTHERS CAN BE AWARE. *DT *JB
THE FRONT SENSOR ON MY VEHICLE IS MALFUNCTIONING. IT SAYS FRONT END COLLISION NOT DETECTED. I'VE BROUGHT THIS UP TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY DISMISSED IT AND SAID NOTHINGS WRONG. WHILE DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED ON A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH CLEAR WEATHER AND NO OTHER CARS AROUND, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) SYSTEM ACTIVATED AND ABRUPTLY BROUGHT THE CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE WE LEASED THE CAR IN OCTOBER 2018. THE FIRST TIME WAS WITH 300 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM SO NOW WE ARE FORCED TO DISABLE THE AEB SYSTEM EVERY TIME WE DRIVE THE CAR. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT WHAT WE WANT TO DO BUT WE HAVE TO.

THE DEALER (STADIUM NISSAN, 1140 W KATELLA AVE, ORANGE, CA 92867, (714) 923-5100) CLAIMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A STICKER THAT BLOCKED THE SENSOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED BEFORE THE STICKER WAS PLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,500.
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH BY MY WIFE WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND AND THE MOONROOF JUST EXPLODED. LUCKILY THE INSIDE COVER WAS CLOSED SO GLASS DID NOT GET ALL OVER THE CAR OR HIT MY WIFE WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING.
ON OCT 24TH I WAS ON MY WAY TO DRIVE MY AUTISTIC SON TO HIS DAY PROGRAM WHICH IS LESS THEN A MILE AWAY. AS I WAS DRIVING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CAME ON AND PULLING ME TO A STOP, THEN I PROCEEDED TO PULL OVER AFTER BEING SHAKEN UP ALONG WITH MY SON. THEN CONTINUE TO TRY AGAIN. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME I CAN BRING THE CAR IN THE NEXT DAY. I DID AND THAT AFTERNOON THEY INFORMED ME THEY FIXED THE SENSOR AND EVERYTHING IS FINE NOW. ON NOV 7TH I WAS DRIVING ON THE SERVICE ROAD WITH IS ALONG SIDE THE HIGHWAY GOING TO LUNCH WITH MY SON AND HIS RESPITE WORKER AND AGAIN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PULLED US TO A STOP THAT NEARLY CAUSE US AND OTHERS INTO A ACCIDENT BECAUSE ITS A VERY BUSY SERVICE ROAD. AGAIN I PULLED OVER UPSET AND CALLED NISSAN AND I WAS TOLD BRING IT IN TOMORROW MORNING. I HEADED HOME VERY SLOWLY. THAT TIME THEY KEPT THE CAR OVERNIGHT. AGAIN I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE SENSOR. I PICKED UP THE CAR ON NOV 9TH. ON NOV 10TH MY SON, HIS WORKER AND I WERE GOING TO LUNCH AGAIN AND THEN SHOPPING SO I DECIDED TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY AND THATS WHEN IT HAPPEN AGAIN NEARLY CAUSING ANOTHER INCIDENT WHICH WAS EXTREMELY SCARY BEING ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN THEY TOLD ME THEY CHANGE THE BRACKETS NEAR THE SENSOR. WHICH SHOULD OF BEEN DONE THE FIRST TIME. I REFUSE TO HAVE A CAR AN PLAY RUSSIAN ROULETTE WITH MINE AND MY FAMILIES LIVES. WHILE DRIVING ON A STAIGHT ROADWAY THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND AN ALARM SOUNDED AND A RED BOX WITH A YELLOW TRIANGLE APPEARED ON THE DISPLAY AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AS IF TO AVOID A CRASH OR SOMETHING IN THE ROADWAY. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE ROADWAY, NO CARS, NO DEER, NO PEOPLE. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME EITHER. I WAS SHOCKED THAT HIS HAPPENED UNTIL I READ THAT THIS IS HAPPENING WITH A LOT OF ROGUE'S FROM 2018 MODEL YEAR. CONTACTED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD TO CALL THE DEARLERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAID TO BRING IT IN FOR AN INSPECTION. THE INCIDENT LASTED ABOUT 20 SECONDS AND THEN THE CAR RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTION.

NO WARNING LIGHTS OR SOUNDS WERE HEARD. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 15,500 MILES. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME WAS JUST STARTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP LIGHT, SO IT WAS AT ONLY ABOUT 10 MPH. THEN THE DEALERSHIP SAID NO CODES WERE THROWN, SO THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM TO FIX. IT'S IN THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TODAY, HOPING THAT THEY CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT. THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE (FCA) / AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM INADVERTENTLY ACTIVATED RESULTING THE BRAKES BEING ABRUPTLY APPLIED WHILE DRIVING FORWARD ON A NEIGHBORHOOD THOROUGHFARE AT 40 MPH AND NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME.. THERE WAS A VEHICLE FOLLOWING ME WHICH HAD TO SWERVE AROUND ME OR ELSE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A REAR COLLISION. THE SYSTEM GENERATED A FALSE WARNING WITH A BEEPING AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS. THIS IS THE 1ST TIME THE VEHICLE HAS APPLIED THE BRAKES IN THE 3 MONTHS I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CALLED THE AUTONATION PINECREST DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO CHECK THE FCA SENSOR BECAUSE THEY HAVE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER NEW ROGUE OWNERS.

LEASED A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE IN AUGUST OF 2018 AND STARTED HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING, THE NAVIGATION SCREEN, CENTER CLUSTER WHERE THE SPEEDOMETER IS AND ALL AIR CONDITION AND ELECTRONICS WOULD POWER OFF AND RESTART ITSELF, AS IF I WAS CRANKING THE VEHICLE UP. TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THIS ISSUE BEFORE AND THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY STATING THE CAR WAS READY. ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE DEALER, THE SENSOR SYSTEM THAT WORKS WITH THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING FAILED. I TOTALED THE VEHICLE AND FRACTURED C5, C6, C7 IN MY NECK, AND HAD TO WEAR A CERVICAL COLLAR FOR 4 MONTHS FOLLOWING THE ACCIDENT. I ALSO SUFFERED A CONCUSSION. NISSAN TOOK OVER AND STARTED THEY NEEDED TO PERFORM AN INVESTIGATION. THEY FOUND AN ISSUE WITH THE SENSOR SYSTEM IN THE CAR, AND THE AEB WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. THIS COULD HAVE ALL BEEN AVOIDED. 10 MONTHS LATER THEY SEND OUT A CUSTOMER SERVICE INITIATIVE TO HAVE THE CAR UPDATED AND LOOKED AT AGAIN. HOWEVER THE CAR WAS NO LONGER IN MY POSSESSION.
NISSAN CONNECT INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM RESETS ITSELF AFTER ABOUT 4 HOURS OF DRIVING. WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND SYSTEM JUST WENT BLANK, LOST ALL NAVIGATION, STEREO AND CONNECTIVITY WITH PHONE, VERY AGGRAVATING WHEN TRYING TO FOLLOW THE NAVIGATION. THIS HAPPENED TWICE ON A LONG HIGHWAY TRIP.
THE SYSTEM AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING TO AVOID OR LESSEN COLLISIONS ACTIVATED YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS ON INTERSTATE 64, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS A TRACTOR TRAILER IN FRONT OF ME, APPROX. 7 CAR LENGTHS, AND A CAR ABOUT 4 CAR LENGTHS IN FRONT IN THE RIGHT LANE. THE MILEAGE WAS AT 774 AND A NOTIFICATION CAME UP ABOUT A RADAR OBSTRUCTION AND AEB DEACTIVATED AUTOMATICALLY. I'M CONCERNED OTHER USERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AS WELL STARTING AT OR AROUND 700 MILES. EARLIER THIS WEEK, I HAD TO BREAK HARD TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE ON 64, AND AEB WAS NOT DEACTIVATED AND NEVER ONCE ACTIVATED. AS I PULLED AWAY FROM THE STOP SIGN, WITHIN 20 FEET, THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED SHAKING AND STOPPING. IT MADE AN INCREDIBLY LOUD NOISE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER THE SHOULDER. THERE WERE NO MESSAGES ON THE DASH OR BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. AFTER SITTING THERE A FEW MINUTES, I PROCEEDED HOME WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. LATER THAT DAY, I DROPPED THE CAR OFF AT THE CAR DEALER TO CHECK INTO THIS PROBLEM. I WAS GIVEN A LOANER CAR, AND BY THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, GOT A CALL TO COME AND PICK UP MY CAR. THE SERVICE TEAM WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, SO NOTHING WAS FIXED. THIS ALSO HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2018. THIS TIME, I WAS EXITING A HIGHWAY AND WAS SLOWING DOWN ON A RAMP. THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED SHAKING AND MADE A LOUD NOISE. IT GRINDED TO A STOP. IT WAS STARTLING TO ME, AS I'VE NEVER HAD A CAR DO THIS TO ME BEFORE. I ASSUMED THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ROAD SURFACE AND FIGURED THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE OR THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAD ENGAGED. I WAS TAKING A FRIEND HOME FROM CANCER SURGERY THAT DAY, SO I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT IT A WHOLE LOT. I HAD OTHER WORRIES. I WAS TOTALLY FREAKED OUT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS JERKING, THE CAR (NOT THE DRIVER WAS IN CONTROL) AND IT ALMOST DID NOT STOP AT TA MAJOR INTERSECTION. ON ALL THE OTHER OCCASSIONS, THERE WAS NO OBSTRUCTION TO THE RADAR. THE BRAKES COME ON, THE AEB LIGHT ON THE CONSOLE COMES ON, A WARNING FLASHES, AND THEN THE CAR MOVES ON AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. AFTER DOING THIS SEVERAL TIMES OVER SEVERAL MILES, THE AEB LIGHT COMES ON AND IT DESPLAYS AN ERROR MESSAGE ABOUT THE FRONT RADAR IS NOT WORKING AND THE CRUISE IS DISABLED. ON ONE OF THE OCCASSIONS A LARGE PICKUP TRUCK TOWING A TRAILER WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY PUT ON THE BRAKES. FORTUNATELY, HE WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE HITTING MY CAR. WHEN I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AT THE DEALER, I TOLD THE SERVICE REP ABOUT THE ISSUE. HE INDICATED THAT A SHADOW OR SOMETHING LIKE A LEAF BLOWN ACROSS THE RADAR CAN CAUSE IT TO REACT. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY OCCRENCE OF SUCH. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE FOLLOWING TO CLOSE WILL END UP RAMMING ME IN THE REAR END. AFTER DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH, I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE OCCURENCES OF THIS PROBLEM AND THAT NISSAN HAS SENT OUT SEVERAL TECHNICAL BULLETINS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. INFORMING THE DEALER OF THE PROBLEM THEY BLEED THE BRAKES TWICE ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE BRAKES FELT A LITTLE BETTER BUT STILL DID NOT INSPIRE CONFIDENCE..ON THE 3RD TIME GOING TO THE DEALER INFORMING THE DEALER AND NISSAN CORPORATE ABOUT THE BRAKES ISSUE NISSAN IN FORMED THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE CALIBERS AND THE BRAKE HOSES. THE VEHICLE HAS SPENT A TOTAL OF 3 WEEKS AT THE DEALER FOR THE BRAKE ISSUE. AS OF TODAY 11-12-2018 THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALER WAITING ON PARTS AND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM
WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED COLD. SITTING FOR 6 HOURS OR MORE. THERE IS A RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE AS IF THERE WERE TOO MUCH ENGINE BEARING CLEARANCE. AFTER 2 SECONDS THE NOISE GOES AWAY. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATED IT BUT I HAVE 2 AUDIOS OF IT AND PRESENTED TO THEM.
AUTO EMERGENCY BRAKING IS ACTIVATING WHEN THERE IS NO VEHICLE OR OBSTACLE IN FRONT OF ME. IT HAPPENEND THE FIRST TIME I LEFT THE DEALER ON AN OPEN HIGHWAY. IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN A DARK PARKING GARAGE, AND AGAIN WHEN I WAS GOING LESS THAN 10 MILES AN HOUR OVER RAILROAD TRACKS. IT HAPPENED TO MY HUSBAND GOING OVER A BRIDGE WITH METAL EXPANSION JOINTS. GOOD THING NO ONE WAS BEHIND US WHEN IT HAPPENED. I WILL BE CALLING THE DEALER IN THE MORNING. MY ROGUE HAS AROUND 3,000 MILES ON IT.
THE ABS ACTIVATED EARLY IN THE MORNING WITH SUN SHINING THROUGH AN OVERHEAD TRAIN SIGNAL. I HAVE FILED TWO REQUEST FOR BUY BACK BUT MISSOURI HAS POOR LEMON LAWS AND ALLOWS TO KEEP REPLACING RADAR SENSOR. THEY HAVE PUT THE FOURTH ONE ON BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER WARNED ME THAT THE SYSTEM IS BETTER BUT WILL STILL ACTIVATE WITH MY INITIAL COMPLAINT IF THE SUN IS SHINING ON AN OVERHEAD OBJECT THAT THE SYSTEM THINKS IS IN FRONT OF IT. I WAS ON A FOUR LANE HYWAY. VEHICLE HAD 1200 MILES AND WHEN I PHONED CONCERN THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME EXACTLY WHERE I WAS WHEN IT HAPPENED.
EMERGENCY STOP WAS ACTIVATED ABRUPTLY WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY NO VEHICLES WERE IN FRONT OF MY WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE VEHICLE BEHIND ALMOST REAR ENDED ME. I TOOK MY ROGUE TO NISSAN LAS WEEK FOR BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE. APPARENTLY IT WAS A CYLINDER ASSY-BR. HOWEVER YESTERDAY THIS HAPPENED TO ME. I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING MY SUV. NISSAN DOESN'T SEEM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ISSUE AND WE ARE AT RISK. *BF *TR CONSUMER STATED THIS EVENT HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES. THE SECOND TIME THAT HAPPENED THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM CAME INTO A FAILURE. THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM INCORRECTLY ACTIVATED RESULTING IN THE BRAKES BEING ABRUPTLY APPLIED WHILE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION. LUCKILY, THERE WASN'T A VEHICLE FOLLOWING ME, OR ELSE THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A COLLISION. THE SYSTEM REGULARLY GENERATES FALSE WARNINGS , BUT THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THE VEHICLE HAS APPLIED THE BRAKES IN THE 6 MONTHS I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE *BF *AS
THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN THERE WAS NO OTHER CAR NEAR MY CAR EITHER IN FRONT OR ON EITHER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING STEADILY ABOUT 65 MPH IN AN OUTSIDE LANE ON A HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THIS INCIDENT TO OCCUR SINCE THERE WAS NO OTHER CAR NEARBY, NO DEBRIS ON THE ROAD, AND NOTHING ADHERING TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR NEAR THE SENSOR.
MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE BRAKED SUDDENLY, FOR NO REASON. TRAVELING 30 MPH ON A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD STREET. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD FLASHED BRIEFLY, THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE, THEN SUDDEN AND COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. NO CARS IN FRONT OR BACK OF MINE. THE ONLY THING IN THE ROAD WAS A METAL DRAIN COVER. VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE.
