2ND DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. 1ST WAS AT 3,400 MILES. DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED. THIS ONE HAPPENED TONIGHT AT 15,642 MILES. IS THIS SOME KIND OF JOKE? I MAKE HARD EARNED PAYMENTS ON THIS TRUCK. WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE? PROTECT THE CONSUMER? NISSAN HAS BEEN HUSH HUSH ON THIS BUT THE FAILURE RATE IS MORE THAN ONE IN 200 TRUCKS. I'M GETTING A LAWYER. 1) LOUD "BANG" FROM REAR-END OF VEHICLE WHEN ACCELERATING AWAY FROM STOP. 2) LOUD "CLUNKING" NOISE FROM REAR-END OF VEHICLE WHEN TURNING AND WHEN SLOWING. DEALER INSPECTED AND FOUND REAR DIFFERENTIAL COMPONENTS BROKEN. 3) DEALER ORDERED COMPLETE NEW REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY, WHICH CONTAINS ALL DIFFERENTIAL COMPONENTS. PARTS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER, NO PROMISE DATE AVAILABLE. *NM
DROVE FROM PHOENIX TO COLORADO SPRINGS, UPON ARRIVAL FOUND LEAK FROM REAR AXLE SEALS ON BOTH REAR TIRES. *NM
SINCE PURCHASING MY TRUCK IN AUGUST OF 2004 I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL BRAKE RELATED ISSUES. I'VE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO THE SAME DEALER FOR SERVICE ON EACH FAILURE/ISSUE. THE BREAK ISSUES EXPERIENCED HAVE BEEN BRAKE LIGHTS TURNING ON, BRAKES SHUDDERING, THE TRUCK NOT BRAKING PROPERLY, BRAKES NOT WORKING UNTIL THE PEDAL WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY PRESSED. RECENTLY THE TRUCK FAILED TO STOP RESULTING IN A REAR END COLLISION. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED/RESURFACED ROTORS, BRAKE PADS AND REPLACED SENSORS DURING THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF. HOWEVER, I CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE ISSUE AFTER ISSUE REGARDING THE BRAKES. I HAVE HAD OTHER DEFECTS AS WELL, BUT THE BRAKE ISSUES HAVE BEEN THE PRIMARY ISSUE. *NM
NO SIGNS OF ANY KIND NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. REAR DIFFERENTIAL STARTED TO LEAK FOR COVER REAR WAS DRAINED AND RESEALED. *JB
SEAT BELTS LOCKING UP. SEAT BELTS ON FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR OUTSIDE PASSENGERS HAVE A RETRACT SYSTEM THAT DOES NOT ALLOW PASSENGER TO LEAN FORWARD. BELTS ARE LOCKING UP REQUIRING PASSENGERS TO DISCONNECT BELTS FROM BELT LATCH AND LETTING BELT RETRACT ALL THE WAY BACK TO STORED POSITION. THEN THEY CAN BE PULLED OUT AND REATTACHED AND THEY WORK FOR AWHILE. THEY WILL DO THIS AT ANYTIME. THERE IS NO SET TIME THAT IT HAPPENS. IT HAPPENS WITH DIFFERENT PASSENGERS BUT MOSTLY WITH WOMEN. THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT DOES NOT HAVE ANY LOCKUPS. THE SEAT BELTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 (FOUR) TIMES TO DATE AND ARE GOING TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AS SOON AS THEY ARE RECEIVED BY DEALER. THEY HAVE BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY. WE HAVE LOST COUNT OF HOW MANY TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. PROBABLY 500+. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT BELTS ARE DISCONNECTED WHILE DRIVING AND THEN RECONNECTED LEAVING THE PASSENGERS UNPROTECTED DURING THIS PROCEDURE. BELTS JUST GET TIGHTER AND TIGHTER UNTIL THEY HAVE TO BE RELEASED AND RESET. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ATTEMPTING TO APPLY BRAKE PRESSURE THE BRAKES FAILED RESULTING IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED LEFT FRONTAL DAMAGE AND IT WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT AND IS REPAIRING THE LEFT FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES STILL EXISTS, NO OTHER INSPECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE.
WHEN USING DIMMER SWITCH CHANGING FROM LOW TO HIGH BEAM OR HIGH TO LOW BEAM, I HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL OR I WILL TURN THE LIGHTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND ITS VERY DANGEROUS. *JB
THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS LEAKING @ 30,000 MILES. THE DIFFERENTIAL APPEARS TO HAVE PRODUCED SO MUCH HEAT THAT THE PAINT FELL OFF OF THE DIFF COVER AND THE SURFACE HAS RUSTED. *NM
WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 NISSAIN TITAN CREW CAB PICKUP , I NOTICE THAT MY DASH BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. I APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. I THEN PULL OVER AND TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND NOTICED THE LIGHT OFF AND A STRONG BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN. I NOW NOTICE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING ATLEAST 2 TO 3 TIMES A DAY. I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE TRUCK AND RESTART SO I CAN HAVE BRAKES AGAIN. I HAVE NOT TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE SHOP NOR REPLACE ANY PARTS REGARDING THIS MATTER. *TR
I'M GLAD TO HEAR THAT NHTSA IS FINALLY DOING SOMETHING ABOUT NISSAN TITAN BRAKE PROBLEMS. I OWN A 2004 NISSAN TITAN WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED NO BRAKES AT ALL WHEN THE TRAFFIC SUDDENLY STOPS IN FRONT OF YOU. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THESE BRAKES TO THE NHTSA, NISSAN, ETC, TO NO AVAIL. THE PROBLEM IS VERY INTERMITTENT AND YOU CANNOT SIMPLY TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND SHOW THEM THE PROBLEM. IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WHEN THE BRAKES FAIL TO WORK, YOU PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURN THE TRUCK 'S IGNITION OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. THE BRAKES ARE THEN RE-SET AND WORKING FINE. MY SON DISCOVERED THIS TEMPORARY FIX SOLUTION. IT IS A SERIOUS, REAL PROBLEM FOR NISSAN TITAN AND ARMADA OWNER'S. IT HAPPENS TO OUR TITAN TWO OR THREE TIMES A YEAR. MANY OWNER'S COMPLAIN OF THE SAME TROUBLE ONLINE. I'D LOVE TO HEAR THAT NISSAN TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL THESE VEHICLES AND SOLVES THIS PROBLEM FOR THEIR LOYAL OWNERS. *TR

2004 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB PICKUP. I AM RESIDING IN RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION NEW SUBDIVISION WHICH OCCASIONALLY HAS MUD ON THE STREETS. WHEN THE TITAN GOES THROUGH EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF MUD IT LOSES BRAKES. I WENT THROUGH A STOP SIGN AND STOPPED, GOING DOWN THE OPPOSITE SIDE SHOULDER. LUCKILY, NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. BUT, AFTER ROLLING AGAIN AND PUMPING THE BRAKES, THEY RETURNED. WENT THROUGH THE MUDDY STREET AGAIN TO TEST. SAME RESULT APPEARED, NO BRAKES OR VERY LIMITED BRAKES. IN ADDITION, AN AWFUL NOISE WAS MADE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AFTER GOING THROUGH THE MUD OF A PAVED ROAD. THIS IS A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT/INJURY/DEATH AWAITING TO HAPPEN. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE SHOULDER STRAPS ON THE REAR SEAT BELTS LOCK UP WHILE IN USE. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM AND THE PASSENGERS CANNOT MOVE AS A RESULT. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SEATBELTS, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. OTHER VEHICLES ON THE DEALERSHIP LOT WERE INSPECTED AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER STATES THIS IS HOW THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. UPDATED 03/28/06. *JB
NOTICED A SMALL LEAK AT THE RIGHT END OF REAR AXLE. ALSO, ALL THE PAINT WAS "COOKED" OFF THE REAR DIFF COVER. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE ENTIRE REAR END ASSY WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *NM
DOOR HANDLE FREEZES(COLD WEATHER) OPEN. THE DOOR CANNOT BE LATCHED SHUT. *TR
AT APPROXIMATELY 7000 MILES I NOTED THAT ALL OF THE PAINT HAD BURNED OFF THE REAR AXLE, TOOK TRUCK TO THE DEALER FOR ADVISE, THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO DEFECT. OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS THE REAR END BEGAN TO MAKE EXCESSIVE NOISE AND I RETURNED TRUCK TO DEALER. THEY ADVISED ME I NEEDED A NEW REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY. AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE NEW REAR AXLE THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A VIBRATION AT 25-30 MPH. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP 2 SEPARATE VISITS OVER 3 DAYS TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. DEALER SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, AND I AM TO LIVE WITH IT. SEVERAL OTHER TRUCKS HAD REAR AXLES REPLACED. *AK
REAR END FAILURE. NO WARNING INDICATIONS LEADING UP TO IT. THANKFULLY I HAD 4WD TO SAFELY MAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. JUST HAPPENED, SO NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM YET. *JB
PROBLEM WITH NISSAN TITAN 2004-TRAVELING ON 01/08/06 IN NISSAN PICKUP TRUCK W/APPROX. 28,000 MILES ON IT, ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, VEHICLE BEGAN SWAYING VIOLENTLY OUT OF CONTROL, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND SPUN VEHICLE 180 DEGREES FACING NORTH ON THE SHOULDER OF THE SOUTHBOUND LANE OF NYS THRUWAY. TOWING JAYCO 23' TRAVEL TRAILER; THE TRAILER JACK-KNIFED AND HIT VEHICLE. NYS POLICE CALLED A TOW TRUCK BECAUSE VEHICLE'S BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEABLE. IN THE FALL NISSAN SENT A LETTER TO TRUCK OWNERS REGARDING A "BRAKE JUDDER" CONDITION EXTENDING THE WARRANTY PERIOD.UPON RECEIPT OF LETTER, REQUESTED THAT OUR LOCAL DEALER ADDRESS THE ISSUE; WERE INFORMED UNTIL WE EXPERIENCED THE "JUDDER" PROBLEM, REPAIRS COULD NOT COMMENCE. SINCE THAT TIME, TIRES HAVE BEEN ROTATED, OIL CHANGED, AND NYS INSPECTION IN DECEMBER. CONTACTED NISSAN CORP HEADQUARTERS AND WERE INFORMED FACTORY REP WOULD INSPECT VEHICLE ON 02/02/06 - APPROX 25-DAYS AFTER INCIDENT. LOCAL DEALERSHIP CANNOT INSPECT VEHICLE. NO ASSISTANCE BY NISSAN UNTIL INSPECTION BY FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE DETERMINING FAULT, EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKING SYSTEM COMPLETELY FAILED! AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF THIS PROBLEM ON SEVERAL AUTO FORUM SITES, IT IS EVIDENT THAT NISSAN TITAN'S HAVE A SERIOUS BRAKE PROBLEM! THERE IS NO RECALL . WE FEAR THAT SOMEONE WILL GET MAIMED OR KILLED! *NM
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN TITAN LE EXTEND CAB WITH OFF ROAD PACKAGE AND TOWING PACKAGE. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE BRAKES LOOKED AT ABOUT EVERY 20K MILES. I CURRENTLY HAVE 67K ON IT, AND I HAD IT IN THE SHOP FOR 3 DAY WHILE WAITING ON NISSAN CORP TO DECIDE IF THEY WOULD STILL COVER THE BRAKE DEFECT. THE DEALER TOLD US THEY COULD ONLY TURN THE ROTORS AND REPLACE THE PADS, WHICH THEY DID 2X'S. NOW IT NEEDS NEW ROTORS AND PADS, AND SUDDENLY THE RECALL IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT, SO I WILL HAVE TO PAY OVER $500 TO GET THIS DONE. I REFUSE, AND I AM STILL WAITING ON NISSAN CORP TO CALL ME. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS HE WOULD HEAR A LOUD WHINING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE EXHAUST WAS LEAKING DUE TO THE MANIFOLD BEING FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MANIFOLD APPROXIMATELY SEVEN TIMES IN FIVE YEARS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,314. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,000

REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE - STARTED CLANGING LOUDER AND LOUDER THE PAST 2 MONTHS UNTIL COMPLETE FAILURE OCCURRED. MADE A LOUD METAL CLASHING NOISE THEN BEGAN SLIPPING THEN JERKING INTO MOTION THEN SLIPPING AND JERKING ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE DEALER. 2005 NISSAN TITAN 4X4 WITH HEAVY TOW PACKAGE. 1 YEAR OLD 28,000 MI. ONLY TOWED WITH IT A 4500 POUND TRAVEL TRAILER ON TWO OCCASIONS APPROXIMATELY 300 MILES TOTAL. *NM
ON MY 2004 NISSAN TITAN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH FREEZES IN COLD WEATHER PREVENTING THE DOOR LATCH FROM ENGAGING WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR. THE DOOR WILL NOT SHUT AND HAS TO BE HELD SHUT WHILE DRIVING. *JB

2004 NISSAN TITAN - REAR END AXLE SEALS FAILED AND THE REAR END IS ABOUT TO FAIL. *NM
I AM IN THE MILITARY STATIONED IN VIRGINIA... I HAD A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR END OF MY TRUCK PRIOR TO THANKSGIVING. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY SAID THE U JOINTS ARE GOING BAD. DIDN'T SOUND LIKE A U JOINT, SO I ASKED NISSAN WOULD IT BE OK FOR ME TO DRIVE THE TRUCK 440 MILES EACH WAY TO GO HOME TO WV TO SEE MY FAMILY FOR THANKSGIVING AND THEY SAID YES, IT WILL BE FINE. SO I GO HOME AND SAW MY FAMILY, AND THEN THE SATURDAY MORNING AFTER THANKSGIVING I GOT UP EARLY AND WENT AND STOPPED AND GOT GAS. GOT BACK IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED IT UP AND WHEN TO PUT IT IN GEAR, AND THE WHOLE REAR END JUST GRINDED. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT MOVE. HAD TO PUT THE TRUCK IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE JUST TO DRIVE TO MY SISTER HOUSE AND CALLED NISSAN. AFTER HAVING THE TRUCK FOR 14 DAYS, AND ORDERING A NEW REAR END FOR A 2 WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK, THEY DECIDED THAT THEY COULD NOT GET A NEW REAR END DUE TO NATION BACKORDER, SO THEY PULL ONE OFF OF A 06 NISSAN TITAN 4X4 AND THEN I GOT TO RETURN BACK TO VA TO ASSUME MY MILITARY DUTIES, AFTER BEING STUCK IN WV FOR 2 WEEKS. THEY DID GIVE ME A RENTAL CAR, BUT PUT A RESTRICTION ON THE CAR WHEN I COULD ONLY DRIVE 150 MILES A DAY. SO I COULDN'T GO BACK TO WORK IN VA. I DID MISS OUT ON WORK, AND TIME, AND HAD TO USE 2 WEEKS OF MY VACATION DAYS, BUT MOST IMPORTANT, THIS COULD HAVE HAPPEN DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, OR IN BUSY TRAFFIC AND COULD HAVE PUT MY LIFE & OTHERS AROUND ME AT DANGER! NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THIS PROBLEM, OR FIX IT RIGHT. BEFORE PEOPLE DIE! THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. *JB

FROM A DEAD STOP I PRESSED THE THROTTLE ABOUT 3/4 THE WAY AND I HEAR A GRINDING NOISE AND I CANNOT MOVE, AS I PULL OVER I AM THINKING HOW AM I GOING TO GET BACK HOME. I THINK ITS A ONE TIME ERROR, I TRY TO MOVE AGAIN, THE GRINDING CONTINUES. I THINK SOME MORE AND PUT THE TRUCK INTO 4 X 4, I CAN MOVE BUT VERY SLOWLY BECAUSE OF THE GEARS MOVING AROUND IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL THIS HAPPENED AT 15,000 MILES AT A STOP SIGN ABOUT 1 MILE AWAY FROM MY HOUSE, I WAS LUCKY I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY OR ANYTHING LIKE A MAIN ROAD OR THEIR MAY HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. *JB

NISSAN TITAN 2004 BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR WITH A LOUD NOISE LIKE AIR ESCAPING A BALLOON. *TS *JB
I WAS DRIVING MY NISSAN TITAN 2004 DOWN THE FREEWAY, THE DIFFERENTIAL FAILS ON ME AND I AM PULLING A 6000 LB TRAILER, I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT TRYING TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT WHILE THE DIFFERENTIAL IS COMPLETELY MANGLED. MY DEALERSHIP FIXED THE DIFFERENTIAL BY PUTTING A 2005 AXLE IN. THE SECOND TIME WAS THE SAME SITUATION ONLY I WASN'T PULLING A TRAILER, THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN PUT ANOTHER 2005 AXLE IN. THE TRUCK CAUSED ME TO STOP IN TRAFFIC, LUCKILY NO ACCIDENT HAPPENED, THE TRUCK WAS ABLE TO CATCH SOME TEETH IN THE DIFFERENTIAL TO PULL ME OFF THE ROAD. THE FIRST FAILURE HAPPENED AT 8000 MILES ABOUT MARCH 2005, THE SECOND AT 19000 NOVEMBER 2005, JUST RECENTLY I DECIDED NOT TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD A QUICK LUBE CHECK MY DIFFERENTIAL OIL. IT WAS BLACK AND HAD QUARTER SIZED CHUNKS OF METAL ON THE PLUG. THIS MEANS THE DIFFERENTIAL IS ABOUT TO FAIL. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM ON A WINDING ROAD IN A CANYON, WHICH I HAVE TO GO THROUGH OFTEN. I COULD DIE OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE IF THIS UNSAFE TRUCK FAILS IN A BLIND CORNER OR BEND. AT THE SECOND FAILURE THE DEALERSHIP MADE ME SIGN A WAIVER STATING THAT THEY WOULD NOT FIX MY DIFFERENTIAL SHOULD IT FAIL AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE THIRD POSSIBLE OCCURRENCE AND THEY SIMPLY SAID CALL NISSAN. I HAVE NO ONE TO TURN TO, MY TRUCK IS CONSTANTLY BREAKING DOWN. THEY DON'T WANT TO HELP ME. MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN WORKED ON THREE TIMES, BOTH TIMES OF DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE THE TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP FOR A MONTH, I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR ONE YEAR AND CURRENTLY HAVE 29000 MILES. NISSAN HAS A BAD PART IN THEIR TRUCKS, PLEASE INVESTIGATE, THERE ARE MANY OTHERS, ALL I CAN DO IS SUGGEST THEY REPORT THEIR PROBLEMS HERE ALSO, PERHAPS THAT WILL HELP. *JB
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN TITAN AND WHENEVER MY GAS TANK IS LOW AND I GO TO FILL UP AFTER A WHILE GAS WILL START TO GUSH OUT. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LIKE ALWAYS THEY CAN'T "DUPLICATE". I KNOW OTHER NISSAN TITAN OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WHERE GAS SQUIRTS OUT. THIS IS A HEATH AND SAFTEY ISSUE. THE GAS HAS GUSHED BACK OUT AT ME SEVERAL TIMES.. DT: WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY FOUND THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH A COMPUTER CHIP. THE DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER WITHOUT THE KEYS. WITHIN 30 DAYS, THE VEHICLE TURNED ITSELF OFF WHILE GOING 70 MPH. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. ONCE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE GOING TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER WITH THE KEYS. *AK
RETURNED VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR WARRANTY SERVICE AND WAS MADE AWARE OF A POSSIBLE DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE , DEALER STATED THAT PARTS WOULD BE REPLACED UNDER THE MANUFACTURES' WARRANTY. AFTER WAITING FOR TWO MONTHS I PROCEEDED TO SEARCH INTERNET SITES FOR OTHER FAILURES AND FOUND NUMEROUS FAILURES REPORTED ON SEPARATE SITES. REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO VEHICLE MANUFACTURE AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE OR REPLACEMENT OF FAULTY PARTS. *NM
2004 TITAN SE WITH BIG TOW PACKAGE. ASD OF 26000 MILES HAVE HAD BRAKES REPLACED FOUR TIMES, THE LAST TIME BY A NISSAN ENGINEER. ALSO A REPLACED BRAKE BOOSTER. HAVE ALREADY HAD THE RECALL BRAKES, THOSE WERE PUT ON THE SECOND TIME, AT 21000 AND WERE PROBLEMS SHORTLY AFTER, SO THE RECALLED BRAKE PARTS DO NOT WORK!!! NISSAN CORPORATION TOLD US THAT THEY FELT NO RESPONSIBILITY OR OBLIGATION TO REPLACE OUR VEHICLE. I FEEL A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT COMING UP. I HAVE SAME PROBLEM AS EVERYONE ELSE WITH CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS STARTING AROUND 65000 MILES. EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE SO I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO LISTEN TO A HORRIBLE EXHAUST LEAKS. NEXT IS THE REAR AXLE SEALS FIRST AROUND 65000.REPLACED 2X. AFTER TALKING TO NISSAN TECH WHO IS A FRIEND APPARENTLY ITS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. THE AXLE TUBES TEND TO WARP CAUSING A LEAK ALL OVER TIRES N BRAKES AND EVENTUAL FAILURE OF GEARS INREAR PUMPKIN IF NOT CAUGHT. JUST WAITING FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM. EVERY 7000 BRAKES N ROTORS R SHOT AND NEED REPLACING. PEDAL ALWAYS HAS A MUSHY FEEL WHEN U OCCASIONALLY NEED TO SLAM ON THE BRAKE. GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR EVEN WHEN BRAKES R GOOD. *TR
BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON DASH ILLUMINATED. WHEN BRAKE PRESSURE APPLIED, PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, BRAKES MADE A LOUD GRINDING SOUND AND BRAKING EFFICIENCY WAS GREATLY DIMINISHED. HAD TO DRIVE ONTO RIGHT SHOULDER OF ROADWAY TO AVOID REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS ABOUT 3 TIMES PER YEAR ON THIS 61,000 MILE VEHICLE. TOOK TO NISSAN UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE PROBLEM AND RECEIVED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THIS GOT ME OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN PROBLEM OCCURRED OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY AGAIN, DEALER AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS STATED THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, AND WOULD NOT TAKE CARE OF SAME. *TR

WHILE TOWING A 6,500 LB BOAT WITH MY NISSAN TITAN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BLEW WITH ONLY 6,700 MILES ON THE TRUCK. IT LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE OF KNOW WHERE AND 3+ HOURS AWAY FROM HOME. NOW I HAVE 12,500 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND I HAVE A FEELING THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS GOING TO BLOW AGAIN. HAVING FRONT ROTORS REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME DUE TO WARPING. FIRST FAILURE OCCOURED AROUND 3000 MILES WITH LOTS OF BRAKE SHUDDER. ROTORS AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE WERE REPLACED AND PROBLEM RESOLVED. SECOND FAILURE OCCOURING AT 7500 MILES WITH BRAKE SHUDDER. ROTORS REPLACED AGAIN BY DEALER.
I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK IN TWICE NOW FOR THE BRAKES AND THE CARPET BEING SOAKING WET FROM THE TRUCK LEAKING SOMEWHEREAND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT NOT TURNING OFF. THEY RESURFACED MY BRAKES AND SAID THE LEAK WAS FROM THE A/C. THEY ALSO TOLD US ABOUT THE BRAKE PROBLEM WITH THE 2004 TITANS AND THAT THEY WOULD PUT US ON A WAITING LIST FOR THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. WE ARE NOW TAKING IT IN AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE FLOOR IS SOAKING WET AND WE HAVE NOT RAN THE A/C. THE BRAKES ARE SHAKING VIOLENTLY AGAIN, AND NOT TO MENTION THE NEW PROBLEM OF THE CARGO LIGHT TURNING ON BY ITSELF WHEN IT IS PARKED. I ONLY HAVE ABOUT 8300 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND I ONLY DRIVE 5 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK. THESE ARE MAJOR PROBLEMS THAT ARE OCCURING IN SUCH SHORT TIME OF HAVING THE TRUCK.
NISSAN TITAN PURCHASED JAN 04, IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES NOW TO FIX THE FRONT BRAKES. AFTER ABOUT 7-9K MILES A SEVERE VIBRATION OCCURS FROM THE FRONT BRAKES MAINLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS IN MY OPINION PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES AS THE WHOLE TRUCK VIBRATES VIOLENTLY. *JB
DT: CONTACT STATES SHE LEASED A VEHICLE FROM LIA NISSAN WITH 17 MILES ON IT IN 9-04. SHE HEARD A SQUEAKING NOISE IN THE BRAKES. ALSO , THE BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. SHE TOOK VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN 1-05. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER AROUND APRIL OR MAY SHE NOTICED THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO GET THEM TO STOP. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED SHE WAS TRAVELING. SHE HAS NEVER HAD ANY WARNING LIGHTS TO COME ON. HER HUSBAND TOLD HER THAT THE SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS PROBABLY BECAUSE THE ROTORS ON THE BRAKES WERE BAD. SHE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN , AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKES, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT AND THEY WOULD MILL THE BRAKES DOWN UNTIL THE PARTS CAME IN, TO HELP ELIMINATE THE SHAKING. SHE NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL LETTERS. A RECALL NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE. IN LATE MAY HER HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR IN TO HAVE THE BRAKES MILLED DOWN AGAIN. THEY PUT THEM ON A WAITING LIST FOR WHEN THE PARTS DO COME IN. TODAY (7-15-05) WHEN SHE WENT IN, SHE WAS #18 ON THE WAITING LIST; WHERE IN MAY SHE WAS #10 ON THE WAITING LIST. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT RELINQUISH ANY KIND OF RECEIPTS OR DOCUMENTATION OF THE VEHICLE EVER BEING THERE. *AK
DT: CONSUMER STATES THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CASING ON HIS 2004 NISSAN TITAN PICKUP TRUCK ARE BAD. AFTER TALKING TO SEVERAL PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET THE CONSUMER SAYS THAT WHEN HAULING OVER 100LB. THIS CAUSES THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL TO OVERHEAT LEADING TO LUBRICANT LEAKAGE AND OUTER CORROSION OF THE DIFFERENTIAL COVER. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CONSUMERS TO COMPLAIN THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEIZES AND CATCHES ON FIRE. HE SAYS THIS WAS DOCUMENTED IN A MAGAZINE NOT LONG AFTER THE TRUCK WAS TESTED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DIFFERENTIAL IS ACTUALLY STARTING TO RUST AND THE LUBRICANT IS STARTING TO LEAK OUT. THE DEALER REFUSES TO DEAL WITH HIM. THE MANUFACTURER SAYS THEY WILL NOT DEAL WITH HIM UNTIL THE DEALER DOES. *JB
AT 6000 MILES, THE FRONT BRAKES VIBRATED AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT ON APPLICATION. THIS OCCURRED AGAIN AT 11,000 MILES AND AGAIN AT 15,000 MILES. ON ALL OCCASIONS THE DEALER RESURFACED THE ROTORS. NISSAN ADVISES THEY ARE AWARE THAT THE ROTORS ARE TOO SMALL BUT DOESN'T CONSIDER IT A SAFETY ISSUE SO THEY ARE ONLY REPAIRING THE TRUCKS AS PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE.
