COOLING FAN IS VERY LOUD AND SOUNDS LIKE IT IS GRINDING, I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND THAT MANY OWNERS OF THESE TRUCKS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME THING. IF SO MANY ARE COMPLAINING WHY ISN'T SOMETHING BEING DONE.
POOR BUILD AND ENGINEERING QUALITY OF TRUCK. MULTIPLE, UNRESOLVED PROBLEMS. FAULTY BRAKES, AC, STRUCTURE CREATE MANY ISSUES. MULTIPLE RATTLES, SQUEAKS, VIBRATION AT SPEED ETC. WIND NOISE FROM WINDOWS. DOOR WON'T OPEN INTERMITTENTLY. MIRRORS VIBRATE TO POINT OF USELESSNESS. FOUND 2 IMPACT SOCKETS WHEN I BROUGHT IT HOME, SOCKETS WERE ON BOLTS THAT WERE NOT TIGHTENED DOWN... MAKES ME WONDER HOW MUCH IN THE STRUCTURE AND SUSPENSION HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY TIGHTENED. 9 DEALER VISITS IN 9 MONTHS. TAILGATE RUBS ON BODY, BED RUSTING, IN ARIZONA!!! LEMON!
BRAKE JUDDER ,LACK OF FORMAL RECALL , DENIAL OF SAFETY ISSUES , LACK OF REPAIR/REPLACEMENT PARTS. *NM
FRONT BRAKES CAUSING HEAVY STEERING WHEEL SHAKING ALONG WITH FEELING OF TRUCK FRONTEND BOUNCING AND LEAVING ROAD CONTACT WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED HAVE CONTACTED LOCAL DEALER WHO STATED NO MANDATED RECALL FOR THIS BRAKING PROBLEM ALTHOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF SOME OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE BRAKES NOT WORKING CORRECTLY AND CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING ABILITY DUE THE WHEEL SHUDDER
PURCHASED A NEW 2004 NISSAN TITAN LE TRUCK ON 10/23/2004 AND IT HAS SINCE HAD TO HAVE NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS 3 TIMES IN 7 MONTHS WITH ONLY 19281 MILES DRIVEN ON THE TRUCK. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT WAS AT 4662 MILES ON 12/13/04, THE 2ND REPLACEMENT WAS AT 8416 MILES ON 1/26/05, 3RD REPLACMENT WAS AT 15755 MILES ON 4/26/05 AND 4TH REPLACEMENT IS NEEDED NOW. WHEN THE PADS AND ROTORS START FAILING, VERY HARSH STEERING VIBRATIONS OCCUR WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THIS HAS A GREAT POTENTIAL FOR CAUSING SERIOUS ACCIDENTS ESPECIALLY IN INCLIMATE WEATHER. I HAVE COMPLINED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAVE HAD IT SERVICED ALL 3 TIMES SO FAR AND I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED NISSAN'S CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HAVE YET TO RECIEVE ANY INFORMATION THAT THEY HAVE A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM EXCEPT TO CONTINUE TO REPLACE THE PADS AND ROTORS EVERY 2000-3000 MILES, BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE WARRANTY RUNS OUT AT 36000 MILES. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND NOT LEFT TO CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES BECAUSE IF YOU GOOGLE SEARCH NISSAN TITAN BRAKE PROBLEMS ON THE WEB YOU WILL FIND NUMEROUS FORUMS OF PEOPLE DISCUSSING THE SAME PROBLEMS I AM HAVING WITH MY BRAKES. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE BEFORE IT IS TO LATE AND SOMEONE IS KILLED.
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN TITAN AND NISSAN HAS HAD ME AND MANY OTHERS IN ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASSIONS TO REPAIR THE FRONT BRAKES. THE FRONT WHEEL WOULD SHAKE WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES. JUST BEFORE THE WARRANTY RAN OUT THEY SAID THEY HAD A FIX. THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE THE ROTORS BECAUSE THE WERE TO SMALL FOR THE TRUCK. WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE REPAIR, THE THIRD REPAIR, THE HAD COME UP WITH ANOTHER FIX THEY SAID AND IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. I DID NOTICE THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT FUNNY. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE IT, BUT IT ALMOST FELT LIKE IT WAS APPLYING MORE PRESSURE TO THE REAR BRAKES TO RELIEVE THE PRESSURE ON THE FRONT END. ANYWAY, SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE A COMPANY VEHICLE AND I HAVE ONLY PUT 16K MILES ON THE TRUCK AND THE FRONT END IS SHAKING AGAIN WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES. THE MORE THE SPEED AND THE HARDER YOU APPLY THE BRAKES THE MORE IT SHAKES. ALSO, I NOTICED THAT WHEN THE BRAKES WERE SHAKING THE FRONT END TO SHAKE, SOMETHING IN THE FRONT END POPS, LIKE WHEN YOU TOP A HILL. IT HAS GONE AWAY EVERY TIME THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE BRAKES, BUT WHEN THE SHAKING STARTS BACK SO DOES THE POPPING. I'M NOT TO CONCERNED ABOUT THE POPPING, BUT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SHAKING. THE LAST THING, TWO OF THE THREE TIMES THEY ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE BRAKES, THEY HAVE ALSO TURNED THE ROTORS. ROTORS CAN ONLY BE TURN A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED. I FEEL THEY CHEAPED OUT ON THE REPAIR BY PATCHING THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF REPAIRING THE PROBLEM. I WISH YOU GUYS WOULD LOOK INTO IT. WHETHER IT'S ME OR SOMEONE ELSE, SOMEBODY IS GOING TO BE DRIVING THIS TRUCK 10 YEARS FROM NOW. I DO KNOW IF YOU'RE GOING 65 OR 70 MILES PER HOUR AND YOU HIT THE BRAKES, IT WILL GET YOUR ATTENTION. I DON'T KNOW HOW SAFE IT WILL BE IF NISSAN IS NOT MADE TO REALLY FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
NISSAN HAS ACKNOWLEGED THAT THE BRAKES ON NISSAN TITAN ARE INADEQUATE. THIS CAUSES THE ROTORS TO WARP UNDER EVEN THE LIGHTEST USE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE DEMAND FOR THE REPLACEMENT PARTS IS VERY HIGH, THEREFORE THE REMEDY IS TO GO THE DEALERSHIP, HAVE THE ROTORS TURNED TWICE BEFORE THEY WILL ORDER PARTS. I ASKED TO ORDER THE PARTS RIGHT AWAY WITHOUT TURNING THE ROTORS FIRST AND THEY DECLINED. MEANTIME, I AM DRIVING A BRAND NEW TRUCK WITH 6000 MILES ON IT WITH WARPED ROTORS. I DO NOT FEEL THAT I AM IN IMMINENT DANGER HOWEVER THIS IS A BRAKING PROBLEM WHICH IN MY OPINION IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
CONTINUED WARPING OF FACTORY FRONT BRAKE ROTORS. ROTORS WERE REPLACED ONCE AND RESURFACED TWICE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 10,000 MILES. NISSAN HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM YET.
BRAKES ON THE 2004 NISSAN TRUCK ARE FAULTY. OVERHEATING ROTORS ARE CAUSING THE FRONT END TO SHAKE. STOPPING DISTANCE IS DRAMATICALLY INCREASED.
DT: WHEN APPLYING BRAKE PRESSURE AT NO PARTICULAR SPEED THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY SHAKES. THE BRAKES DO WORK, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL IS AFFECTED. THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER , WHO SAID THEY COULD TURN DOWN THE ROTORS, BUT THE PROBLEM WOULD RETURN. THE CONSUMER DID NOT WANT THE ROTORS TURNED DOWN, HE WANTS THEM REPLACED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA SEVERAL TIMES, AND THEY WILL NOT RETURN CALLS OR DISCUSS THE ISSUE. THE CONSUMER FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN. NO REPAIRS OR CORRECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME. THE CONSUMER FELT THIS WAS A TEMPORARY FIX. *AK

THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS BEGAN WARPING AT AROUND 10,000 MILES ON MY 2004 NISSAN TITAN.WAS TOLD THAT DEALER WOULD ONLY REPAIR BRAKES UP TO 12,000 MILES.NOW THAT I AM REPLACING THEM MYSELF!!!! NISSAN IS CHARGING ALMOST 100.00 FOR THE PADS......HUMMMMM!!!
REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS REPLACED DUE TO AN ETERNAL FAILURE AT 9,700 MILES. AT AROUND 12,000 MILES THE REAR END STARTED TO CLUNK WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND IN AND OUT OF DRIVE. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CLAIMED IT WAS NORMAL AND WAS JUST GEAR LINKAGE BEING LOOSENED UP. NORMAL THOUGH THEY CONFIRMED. TWO DAYS LATER I WAS IN 5 O'CLOCK HEAVY TRAFFIC AND WAS TURNING INTO A MAJOR INTERSECTION AND HAD TO APPLY HEAVY ACCELERATION. I HEARD A LOUD CLUNK AND THEN MY TRUCK SAT THERE AND REVVED UP WITH NO MOVEMENT. I HAD CARS APPROACHING FAST WHICH HAD TO SWERVE AROUND ME SINCE I WAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. A PASSERBY STOPPED AND PULLED OVER TO HELP ME PUSH MY TRUCK OUT OF THE BUSY ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CALLED AND THEY PAID FOR THE TRUCK TO ME TOWED BACK. THIS WAS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE SO THEY AGREED TO BUY THE TRUCK BACK. THE FIRST FIX TOOK OVER 1 MONTH TO COMPLETE. THE SERVICE MANAGER AGREED THAT THERE IS A TREND WITH THESE TRUCKS AND INTERNAL FAILURE WITH THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. *JB
DT: VIBRATIONS IN FRONT END DUE TO BAD ROTORS. TOOK TO DEALER AND HE SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO CUT THE ROTORS AND REPLACE PADS BECAUSE OF OVERHEATING PROBLEM WITH THE ROTORS. MANUFACTURER SAID THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, WAITING TO GET NEW ROTORS SO THEY CAN REPLACED. MANUFACTURER WILL EXTEND WARRANTY FOR 3 YEARS. *NM
SEVERE SHUDDER IN FRONT BREAKS DUE TO WARPED FRONT DISKS. HAPPENED AT 5-7K MILES AFTER EACH REPLACEMENT OF ROTORS OR TURNING OF ROTORS.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS DUE TO A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. WHILE COMING TO A STOP AT 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE RATTLED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS AGAIN, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. CAN NOT READ COMPUTER-GENERATED INFORMATION IN DAYLIGHT, CLOUDY OR OTHERWISE. INCLUDES GEAR INDICATOR, TOW MODE, MILEAGE, AIR CONDITIONING, ETC. HAD AN ARMY LT. COL. ON HIS KNEES TRYING TO READ THE GAUGES AS WE WERE DRIVING THROUGH LAS VEGAS, NV. PRIOR TO THIS TRIP OUT WEST, ALL OF MY DRIVING HAD BEEN LOCAL AND INFREQUENT (I USE A MORE ECONOMICAL CAR FOR IN-TOWN/LOCAL DRIVING), AND THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT COMPUTER GENERATED. THIS IS UNSAFE AND I DO NOT WISH TO BE KILLED TRYING TO SEE THE DASH INSTRUMENTS. I HAVE DRIVEN WITH THE RHEOSTAT TURNED ALL THE WAY UP, WITH NO EFFECT/BENEFIT. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK TO TOW MY TRAILER AND TRAVEL. I AM UNSAFE DURING DAYLIGHT AND TOWING A TRAILER AT NIGHT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE NOR PRACTICAL. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER (NISSAN) WHO DIRECTED ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALER (JENKINS IN LAKELAND, FL). WHILE THE HEAD OF SERVICE (MR. DUNKIN) AGREED HE COULD NOT READ THE INFORMATION ON A CLOUDY DAY, HIS ONLY ADVICE WAS TO TURN THE RHEOSTAT ALL THE WAY UP, WHICH WAS ALREADY DONE. HE SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE. DID NOT GIVE ME ANY PAPERWORK TO PROVE I WAS THERE. CONDITION IS ON-GOING AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. A PERSON COULD EASILY TAKE FULL ATTENTION OFF OF DRIVING TO TRY TO READ THE GAUGES. THIS COULD AND WOULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS. THE NUMBER OF FAILURES IS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IN DAYLIGHT. *JB
AT 13,000 MILES, MY TRUCK HAS BEEN TO THE NISSAN DEALER 3 TIMES FOR BRAKE ROTER PROBLEMS. THE ROTORS WARP AND CAUSE VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE STERING WHEEL WHEN BRAKING. THE TRUCK WILL ALSO PULL TO THE LEFT WHEN BRAKING. THIS SEEMS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND IT IS VERY DISSAPOINTING THAT NISSAN HASN'T FIXED THIS PROBLEM.

LIKE MANY OTHER TITAN OWNERS I AM HAVING CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT BRAKES GETTING SOFT AND VIBRATING. NISSAN KEEPS SAYING THAT THEY HAVE A SOLUTION COMING, BUT THEY KEEP PUSHING THE DATE BACK. THE LAST TWO TIMES I'VE BEEN IN WITH THIS ISSUE, THEIR INTERIM FIX HASN'T HELPED FOR MORE THAN A DAY. BRAKES ARE SOMETHING THAT BOTH YOU AND NISSAN SHOULD NOT BE SCREWING AROUND ON. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED MONTHS AGO.
WHILE BACKING MY BOAT INTO ITS PARKING SPOT I PUT MY VEHICLE IN "PARK", LEFT THE DRIVER'S DOOR OPEN, LEFT ENGINE RUNNING AND EXITED VEHICLE TO UNHITCH MY BOAT TRAILER FROM MY TRUCK TRAILER HITCH. I WAS AT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE TURNING THE TRAILER JACK. I WAS BEHIND THE TRUCK FOR APPROXIMATELY 45 SECONDS WHEN I HEARD A CLICK, AND MY VEHICLE STARTED MOVING BACKWARDS. I REALIZED WHAT WAS HAPPENING--THE GEAR SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE. I ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE DRIVER'S SIDE,AND OPENED DOOR TO HIT THE BRAKE. WHILE ENTERING THE DRIVER'S SIDE I WAS HOLDING ONTO THE DOOR AS LEVERAGE ATTEMPTING TO APPLY MY RIGHT FOOT ONTO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE REVERSE MOVEMENT CAUSED THE DOOR TO COME IN CONTACT WITH A TREE. THE TREE PULLED THE DOOR FORWARD AS THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING BACKWARDS. THE DOOR'S CONTACT WITH THE TREE CAUSED THE DOOR TO PULL ME OUT AND THREW ME TO THE GROUND, CAUSING INJURY TO MY LEFT ARM AND LEG. I GOT UP AND RAN AND JUMPED INTO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. SUPPOSEDLY BEING INVESTIGATED BY NISSAN TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE.*AK
PURCHASED VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2004, TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE SLIGHTLY WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT AROUND 7000 MILES. HAD BRAKES/ROTORS REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY 11000 MILES WHEN THE SHAKING MADE THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I AM NOW AT 17000 MILES AND THE TRUCK IS DOING THE SAME THING. STARTS OFF AS A SLIGHT SHUTTER, AND PROGRESSES TO THE POINT WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL PRACTICALLY SHAKES OUT OF DRIVER'S HANDS. *AK
20'04 NISSAN TITAN ON SECOND REPAIR FOR WARPED BRAKE ROTORS. FIRST REPAIR AT 5000 MILES, AND SECOND REPAIR AT 7500 MILES. *AK
STEERING/TRUCK VIBRATION WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLYED.
1.) TRUCK SHAKES WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. 2.) TRUCK SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED -HARD TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. 3.) NISSAN TURNED THE ROTORS. THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON THESE TRUCKS AND THAT SEVERAL OTHER NISSAN TITAN OWNERS WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT THEY WILL NOT OFFER A PERMANENT FIX UNTIL THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN TURNED TWICE BY THE NISSAN SERVICE CENTER. AT THIS POINT (THE THIRD APPOINTMENT FOR BRAKES) THEY WILL INSTALL A NEW BRAKING SYSTEM. THIS SHOULD BE RENDERED BOTH UNSAFE AND UNACCEPTABLE. SINCE THERE IS A NOTED PROBLEM, NISSAN SHOULD HAVE OFFERED A PERMANENT FIX AT THE FIRST SERVICE APPOINTMENT. NISSAN SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GAMBLE WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES BY DETERRING A PERMANENT FIX ON A SAFETY COMPONENT SUCH AS BRAKES.
BRAKE ROTORS BECAME WARPED WITH ONLY 5,000 MILES ON MY 2004 TITAN SE CREW CAB. DEALER SAYS HAVE TO BRING IT IN FOR 2 FIXES, THAT THEY KNOW DON'T WORK IN THE LONG RUN, BEFORE NISSAN WILL ALLOW THEM TO ORDER THE PARTS FOR THE PERMANENT FIX OF INSTALLING LARGER HEAVY DUTY ROTORS ALONG WITH SOME OTHER PARTS. THIS IS A VERY DISSAPPOINTING REPONSE FROM NISSAN FOR A VERY SERIOUS AND VERY COMMON PROBLEM. ALSO, I'VE SPOKEN WITH APPROX. 5 TITAN OWNERS AND ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ROTORS WERE OUT OF ROUND. THE BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED AND THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE RECURRED A FEW MORE TIMES AND THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED AND UNKNOWN BRAKE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. HE STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER APPROXIMATELY SEVEN TIMES FOR THE BRAKE FAILURE WHERE THE ROTORS WOULD BE RESURFACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
DT: CONTACT STATES CONSUMER HAS TWO NISSAN VEHICLES AND THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ON ONE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE OTHER VEHICLE IS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT'S THE ROTORS. THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITHIN THE BRAKE SYSTEM. *AK
WITH ONLY 3900 MILES ON THE TRUCK, THE ROTORS ARE STARTING TO WARP BADLY!! NATIONAL CUSTOMER. SERVICE. SAYS NO RECALL IN SIGHT, BUT LOCAL DEALER HAS PAPERWORK ON RECALL COMING OUT?????? THE BRAKES SHOULD DEFINITELY BE BETTER THAN THIS FOR A VEHICLE THAT CAN TOW 9400 LBS!! BRAKES HAVE GONE BAD, EARLY, W/OUT TOWING ANYTHING!!!!!
APPROXIMATELY FOUR MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY 2004 NISSAN TITAN I GRADUALLY BEGAN EXPERIENCING A 'SHUDDER WHILE BRAKING' PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM QUICKLY ESCALATED AND BECAME GREATER AND GREATER. ON MARCH 30TH, 2005, I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO PASSPORT NISSAN OF MARLOW HEIGHTS, MARYLAND FOR REPAIRS. AT THIS POINT I LEARNED THROUGH THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE PERMANENT REPAIR KIT FOR THE PROBLEM. MY TRUCK WAS OUT OF SERVICE FOR ONE DAY AND THEY RETURNED MY TRUCK INDICATING THAT THEY RESURFACED THE ROTORS AND REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS. THIS PROCEDURE WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM. APPROXIMATELY 4,000 MILES LATER THE 'SHUDDER W/BRAKING' PROBLEM RE-OCCURRED. JUST AS BEFORE THE PROBLEM ESCALATED AND BECAME GREATER AND GREATER. ON JULY 07TH, 2005, I RETURNED MY 2004 NISSAN TITAN TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME REPAIR. ON JULY 12TH, 2005, I PICKED UP MY TRUCK AND DISCOVERED THAT NO REPAIRS HAD BEEN MADE AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. THE SERVICE MANAGER INDICATED TO ME THAT PARTS WERE ON ORDER. AS OF THE DATE OF THIS REPORT, THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST AND NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A CORRECTIVE REPAIR KIT FOR THIS DEFECT. THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO INDICATED THAT NISSAN OF AMERICA WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY WERE WORKING ON A SOLUTION. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THIS DEFECT AND THERE PROBABLY SHOULD BE ONE. THE BRAKES ON MY TRUCK ARE TERRIBLE AND AT TIME APPEAR INEFFECTIVE, ESPECIALLY IN WET WEATHER. IN MY OPINION NISSAN HAS NOT ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM APPROPRIATELY. I AM AWARE OF OTHER NISSAN TITAN OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NONE OF THEM HAVE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION ABOUT THIS DEFECT OR ANYTHING THAT NISSAN IS DOING TO RECTIFY THE DEFECT. *NM
I PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN TITAN IN NOVEMBER, AT ABOUT 2,500 MILES I NOTICED A SLIGHT SHUDDER WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE SITUATION DETERIORATED OVER THE NEXT THOUSAND MILES OR SO UNTIL I COULD FEEL THE SHUDDER WHEN I USED MY BRAKES GOING JUST A COUPLE MILES AN HOUR. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE THE PADS AND MACHINED THE ROTORS WHICH TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT LET ME KNOW THAT THERE WAS A GOOD CHANCE THIS WOULD OCCUR AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN HAD A PERMANENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM, BUT SINCE THIS WAS THE FIRST OCCURENCE I WASN'T ELLIGIBLE FOR THAT REPAIR.*AK
MY NISSIAN TITAN HAS BRAKE PROBLEMS, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND IT HAS SERIOUS FRONT END VIBRATION. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 5 SEPERATE OCCASIONS, NEW ROTORS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON 3 OCCASIONS. THE LAST TIME WAS ON 28 FEB. THE DEALER STATED THESE WERE NEW ROTORS AUTHORIZED BY NISSIAN AS THE FIX FOR THE BRAKE ISSUE. AFTER THE NEW ROTORS WERE INSTALLED THE VIBRATION IS NOW WORSE THAN ITS EVER BEEN. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO ANSWER ANY EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
BRAKES FAILED AT 2600 MILES WHILE DRIVING AT 75 MPH. BRAKES WOULD FAIL AT ANY TIME. BRAKES HAS BEEN CHANGED FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY THE BRAKES WERE WEARING OUT.*AK
SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW THE FUEL GAUGE HAS NEVER SHOWN THE CORRECT READING ON THE FUEL IN THE TANK. IT WILL NEVER REGISTER "FULL" AND WILL RUN OUT OF GAS WHEN IT STILL SHOWS 1/8 OF A TANK LEFT. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE GAUGE WITH ANOTHER ONE JUST LIKE IT THAT ALSO DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. *TR
TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE ON THE FRONT BRAKES BECAUSE OF SHUDDERING AND EXCESSIVE WEAR. WAS TOLD BY SERVICE REP THAT THERE WAS A SERVICE CAMPAIGN ON THE BRAKES BECAUSE THEY WERE UNDERSIZED FOR THE VEHICLE. THE REPAIR KIT WOULD BE ORDERED TO REPLACE THE ROTORS, CALIPERS, AND PADS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY NISSAN OF ANY DEFECT IN THE BRAKES. IT TOOK 2 MONTHS TO GET THE PARTS IN BUT NOT THE PARTS THEY HAD DISCUSSED. THEY TURNED THE ROTORS BECAUSE THEY WERE WARPED REPLACED A CONTROL ARM AND REPLACED THE PADS. MAKING THE ROTOR THINNER AND REPLACING THE PADS IS NOT GOING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEY INDICATED ANOTHER "REPAIR KIT" WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN APRIL OR MAY. MEANWHILE I CONTINUE TO DRIVE WITH THE BRAKES BEING ADMITTEDLY UNDERSIZED FOR THIS VEHICLE.
WITH 7000 ON THE ODOMETER THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A TERRIBLE CASE OF SQUEALING BRAKES, WHERE NISSAN REPLACED BRAKES AND ROTORS. NOW, WITH 14000 ON THE ODOMETER THE VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED TERRIBLE SHUDDER OF STEERING WHEEL WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, WORSE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. DEALER HAS ORDERED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS FOR ME, WAITING FOR THEM TO COME IN.*AK
THE CONSUMER IS EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THE CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND ROTORS EVERY 5,000 MI. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE SUSPENSION VIBRATED WHICH CAUSED THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE. THE OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER BUT RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. *JB THE PARKING BRAKE DOES NOT HOLD VEHICLE. EMERGENCY BRAKE FOUND TO BE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. TAILGATE STRIKER ROD OUT OF POSITION AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. FUEL DOOR SPRING/CLIP DEFORMED. *TT
FRONT ROTORS WARPING WHICH CAUSES POOR DRIVABILITY AND DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL BRAKING CONDITIONS. NISSAN HAS ISSUED A TSB AND VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER THIS TSB AT 4000 MILES, PROBLEM RECURRED AT 7500 MILES. NISSAN SERVICE STATES THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND WILL AGAIN SERVICE AT NO COST. I AM UNAWARE AT THIS TIME IF THIS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. *NM
WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED VEHICLE DID NOT STOP PROPERLY. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT ROTORS WERE WARPED, AND UNDERSIZED, MAKING IT HARD TO HANDLE VEHICLE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. *AK CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY CONFIRMED THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH UNDERSIZED ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. THEY WOULD NOT REPLACED UNDERSIZED ROTOR OF PADS. THEY WOULD/AND DID TURN THE ORIGINAL ROTORS AND REPLACED PADS WITH IDENTICAL UNDERSIZED PADS. WHILE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC BRAKES BECAME LESS AND LESS AFFECTIVE POSSIBLE FROM OVER HEATING. *BF
TO WHOM IT CONCERNS, I OWN A 2004 NISSAN TITAN TRUCK THAT HAS A MAJOR FLAW IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I SERIOUSLY THINK THAT I WILL BE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED. I'VE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED. THEY ADMITT TO THE FAULTY BRAKES SYTEM, BUT DO NOT HAVE A PERMANENT FIX. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK UNDER RIGHT (PASSENGER-SIDE) AXLE-TO-WHEEL AREA. ALSO, A FRONT-END ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD TO TAKE MY 2004 NISSAN TITAN LE 4X4 CREW CAB INTO THE DEALER SERVICE SHOP ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS TO TRY AND GET THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK REPAIRED/STOPPED. THE LAST TIME IT WAS IN THE THEIR SHOP THEY HAD MY TRUCK FOR OVER A MONTH WAITING ON A NEW POWER STEERING HOSE PART THAT APPARENTLY WAS IN SHORT SUPPLY. THE LEAK HAS NOW STARTED AGAIN AND I'M GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE THE TRUCK IN AGAIN... ADDITIONALLY, EVER SINCE THE TRUCK WAS BRAND NEW, I HAVE ASKED THE SHOP TO FIX THE ALIGNMENT 4 TIMES AND IT'S STILL NOT RIGHT. THE STEERING SEEMS STRAIGHT UNTIL HIGHER SPEEDS (60+ MPH) THEN I HAVE TO KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED A LITTLE TO THE RIGHT TO KEEP THE TRUCK STRAIGHT. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 7600 MILES ON IT SO FAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE BRAKES REPAIRED ONCE ALREADY. BASED ON ALL OF THE BRAKE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ, I'M SURE I WILL HAVE TO GET THEM REPAIRED AGAIN SOON. 4000 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND THE BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPED CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO VIBRATE. THE BRAKE PEDDLE ALSO PULSATES WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. *JB
FRONT END OF VEHICLE HAS TERRIBLE VIBRATION WHILE BRAKING CAUSED BY OVERHEATED AND WARPED FRONT DISC BRAKE ROTORS. FRONT BRAKES ROTORS AND PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALER TWICE (AT ROUGHLY 6,000 AND ONCE AT 11,093 MILES). THE REPLACEMENT ROTORS AT THE 11,093 MILE SERVICE ARE REDESIGNED ROTORS INTENDED TO FIX THE RECURRING PROBLEM. AT 17,752 MILES THE PROBLEM RECURRED AND THE NEW REDESIGNED ROTORS HAD TO BE RESURFACED BY THE DEALER. *NM
DEFECTIVE BRAKES ON ALL NISSAN TITAN TRUCKS MANUFACTURED TO DATE. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES EVERY 4000-4500 MILES. THEY SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND COULD EASILY CAUSE A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A "FIX" FOR THIS PROBLEM AND SHOULD RECALL ALL NISSAN TITANS AT THIS TIME FOR A PERMANENT REPLACEMENT OF THE FAULTY SYSTEM. I NOW HAVE 9300 MILES ON MY NEW 2004 TITAN AND AM CURRENTLY ON MY THIRD SET OF FRONT BRAKES.

DEALERSHIP FIXED THE PROBLEM 02/12/2005 AND CONSUMER WILL BE RETURNING VEHICLE BECAUSE OF ITS RECURRENCE.*SB
THE TRUCK FIRST BEGAN SHIFTING FUNNY, WHICH LED UP TO SHIFTING WITH A NOISE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. SEARCHED FOR HANGING BRANCHES OR ANYTHING THAT COULD BE MAKING THE NOISE OTHER THEN THE TRUCK. NOTHING. DROVE THE TRUCK ABOUT 500 MILES AFTER FIRST NOTICING THE FUNNY SHIFTING. ONE DAY I PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY PUT IT IN DRIVE, IT HAD SNOWED LIGHTLY, SLIP LIGHT POPPED UP AND HEARD A BANG FOLLOWED BY WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A ZIPPER. TRUCK WOULDN'T MOVE. SOLD TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT HAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE THE DATE IT WAS PURCHASED. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND THE BRAKING POWER WAS LOST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ROTORS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE ENTIRE BRAKING SYSTEM (ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS) HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES SINCE THE ORIGINAL FAILURE DATE. WHEN ADULTS USE THE REAR SEAT SAFETY BELTS, THEY BECOME TIGHTER AS THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED. THE SEAT BELTS CAUSE A GREAT AMOUNT OF PRESSURE TO THE NECK AND CHEST AREA AND HAVE TO BE RELEASED AND RECONNECTED FOR SAFETY. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
