WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR ROUTINE SERVICE, MECHANIC FOUND THAT BOTH REAR AXLE SEALS WERE/HAD BEEN LEAKING AND LIKELY TO FAIL IF NOT CORRECTED. MECHANIC ADVISED VERY UNUSUAL FOR FAILURE AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE AND AGE OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAD RECENTLY BEEN SERVICED BY DEALER AT SCHEDULED WARRANTY CHECK WHERE SEALS WERE REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN INSPECTED. *TR
BINGING/GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM REAR END. AXLES FEELS LIKE IT IS LOOSE AROUND CORNERS. *TR
NISSAN TITAN OUTER REAR AXLE SEALS LEAKING @ 50K MILES. AXLE GREASE ALL OVER REAR BRAKES AND WHEEL WELLS. THIS TRUCK HAS SEEN A TOTAL OF 2K MILES TOWING A FOUR WHEELER AND NEVER PUSHED TO THE LIMIT WITH PAYLOAD. BRINGING IN FOR SERVICE. *TR
MY '05 TITAN 4X4 XE HAS HAD TWO REAR AXLE SEAL FAILURES IN THE PAST 20K MILES. THE FIRST ONE OCCURRED AT 47K MILES AND WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, NOW AT 67K MILES THE SAME SEAL HAS FAILED AGAIN AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. THE FACT THAT OIL GETS ALL OVER THE BREAKS SHOULD BE REASON ENOUGH TO RECALL THIS ITEM AND GET A PERMANENT FIX PUT IN PLACE. *TR
REAR WHEEL AXLE SEAL IS LEAKING FLUID ON REAR DISC BRAKE AFFECTS BRAKING. CONTINUES UNTIL SEAL IS FIXED, MAY BE RELATED TO A VENT ISSUE. *TR
BEARING WENT OUT IN DIFERENTIAL. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD DEVELOPED A CRACK AND LEAKS EXHAUST FUMES. WE HAD THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES COMPLAINING OF AN EXHAUST LEAK; HOWEVER, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THEY COULD NOT LOCATE ANY LEAKS. WE HAD A FAMILY MEMBER, WHO IS A MECHANIC, LOOK AT THE TRUCK RECENTLY AND HE LOCATED THE CRACK IN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THIS CONDITION COULD LEAK EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
AT 64,000 MILES, THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BLEW UP ON ME. THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 60,000. THE BAD THING ABOUT IT IS IT IS COSTING ME $3,600 TO GET IT FIXED. NISSAN WOULD NOT HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. I JUST PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, IF THIS FAILURE HAPPENED TO ME ON THE HIGHWAY, I PROBABLY WOULD NOT BE ON THIS WEBSITE RIGHT NOW. IT FELT LIKE I WAS REAR-ENDED BY A MAC TRUCK! AND I WAS ONLY DRIVING 15MPH. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. EVEN IF THEY TAKE CARE OF MY PROBLEM, THERE MANY TITANS AND ARMADAS ON THE ROAD. *TR
FRONT DRIVE AXEL CAME OUT OF DIFFERENTIAL WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON SLICK ROAD CAUSING SUDDEN LOSS OF FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND LOSS OF TRACTION. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, ONCE IN 2008 AND AGAIN IN 2013. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN TITAN P/U IN WHICH THE DOOR HANDLE CABLES GET FROZEN IN THE WINTER MONTHS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT NISSAN HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS AS A RECALL! I CANNOT GET IN OR OUT OF MY VEHICLE EXCEPT THROUGH THE DOOR WINDOWS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THIS VEHICLE IN TO MY DEALERSHIP ON 2/15/08 TO GET REPAIRED, BUT THEY HAD TO ORDER OTHER PARTS THAT THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW THAT THEY NEEDED. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR A MAINTENANCE SERVICE WHEN THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME OF THE TROUBLED REAR DIFFERENTIAL. *TR
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB AND WHEN THE TEMPS DROP BELOW FREEZING THE DOOR HANDLES OR LATCHES FREEZE UP AND YOU CAN NOT SHUT THE DOOR, YOU HAVE TO HOLD THEM CLOSED WITH YOUR HAND WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DID LEADING UP THE THE FAILURE OTHER THAN MAYBE WASH MY TRUCK. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $500 OUT OF POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT COULD END UP KILLING A CHILD. I TOOK A FRIEND OF MINES CHILD TO SCHOOL TODAY AND THE DOOR OPENED AND WHEN I CLOSED IT EVIDENTLY DID NOT LATCH BECAUSE THE CABLE WAS FROZE UP. GOOD THING THAT HE WAS IN A CAR SEAT AND BUCKLED IN CAUSE WHEN I TURNED THE CORNER THE DOOR FLEW OPEN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP IN AND DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *TR

PURCHASED 2005 NISSAN TITAN TRUCK ON 2/1/2005. ON 4/21/05 WITH 6,000 MILES, TRUCK SHOOK/SHIMMIED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. UNDER WARRANTY, NISSAN DEALER REPLACED FRONT PADS AND RESURFACED THE FRONT ROTORS. ON 6/23/05 WITH 11,000 MILES, TRUCK AGAIN SHOOK/SHIMMIED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. STILL UNDER WARRANTY, NISSAN DEALER REPLACED FRONT AND REAR PADS AND ROTORS AGAIN! ON 1/14/08, NEEDED TO REPLACE THE CRAPPY GOODYEAR WRANGLER SR-A (P265/70R18) TIRES THAT CAME WITH THE TRUCK (ALSO HAD 3 FLAT TIRES) EVEN THOUGH I ROTATED THEM REGULARLY (LESS THAN 40,000 MILES). TODAY, THE TIRE CENTER INDICATED I NEEDED NEW BRAKES. CALLED NISSAN DEALER AND AM AGAIN TAKING THE TRUCK INTO SERVICE TO CORRECT AND GET NEW ROTORS/PADS. BY THE WAY, THE WARRANTY ON MY TRUCK FOR THIS REPAIR RUNS OUT ON 2/1/08. GOING FORWARD, I WILL HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY. THIS STINKS! HOW COME THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL AND CORRECTIVE PROCEDURE IMPLEMENTED? $37,000 VEHICLE! *TR

AT ALMOST 60,000 MILES TRUCK REAR STARTED MAKING INTERMITTENT CLANKING SOUND ,TOOK TO LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR END HAS FAILED METAL PARTICLES FOUND IN OIL. CONTACTED NISSAN DEALER AND SAID TO BAD WARRANTY IS OVER I WILL HAVE TO PAY TO GET REPLACED. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS 2005 NISSAN TITAN NEW. DURING A RECENT OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE AT 34,150 MILES I NOTICED FLUID LEAKING ONTO THE BOTH SIDES OF THE REAR BRAKE ROTOR ASSEMBLIES. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS BRAKE FLUID BUT UPON CLOSER EXAMINATION I DISCOVERED IT WAS GEAR LUBE FROM THE REAR AXLE. IT WAS LEAKING PAST THE SEALS AND DOWN THE BACKING PLATES AND DRIPPING ONTO THE WHEEL AND SOME OF THAT OIL BEING SLUNG ONTO THE BRAKE ROTORS THEMSELVES. I STOPPED DRIVING THE TRUCK SINCE I FELT THIS IS NOW A SAFETY ISSUE AND CALLED THE DEALER. THEY ADVISED ME TO BRING TRUCK IN FOR INSPECTION WHICH I DID ON 1/3/08 AT 34,206 MILES. THEY CONFIRMED SEALS ARE LEAKING AND ORDERED PARTS. I ASKED THEM TO MAKE A NOTE ON THE SERVICE ORDER THAT I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING TRUCK UNLESS NEEDED. THEY THEN CALLED AND TOLD ME PARTS ARE IN AND TRUCK WAS BROUGHT IN FOR REPAIR ON 1/14/08 AT 34,361 MILES. THE PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY ARE AS FOLLOWS; QTY-2 P/N:43070-7S200 AXLE SPACER, QTY-2 P/N:40210-7S210 REAR BEARING, QTY-2 P/N:43252-7S200 OIL SEAL, QTY-2 P/N:01541-0001U SNAP-RING AND QTY-1 999MP-DF100P SYNTHETIC DIFF FLUID. I AM VERY HAPPY THAT NISSAN REPAIRED AND COVERED THIS UNDER WARRANTY. BUT, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS TYPE OF FAILURE OCCURED AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB. WHEN IT BECOMES REALLY COLD IN THE SINGLE DIGITS, THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR DOES NOT OPEN WHEN THE RELEASE BUTTON IS RELEASED ON THE REMOTE OR ON THE DOOR PANEL. THE CONTACT CAN HEAR IT CLICKING, BUT HE CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR. HE CAN PULL OUT THE HANDLE, BUT IT DOES NOT DISENGAGE THE LOCKING MECHANISM. THE FAILURE IS CONSTANT AND DEPENDENT UPON THE TEMPERATURE. THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,150.
REAR SEAT BELTS (LEFT & RIGHT) HAVE NO HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS WHICH CAUSE MY GRANDMOTHER & MOTHER (BOTH ARE SHORT ABOUT 5 FT TALL) TO NOT USE THE SEAT BELT CORRECTLY OR NOT TO USE IT AT ALL BECAUSE THE BELT IS RUBBING THEIR NECKS CAUSING SLIGHT RED BURNS ON THEIR NECKS EVERY TIME THEY USE IT. *TR

E. - LUBE CHANGE) (REQUIRED MAINTENANCE IS EVERY 30,000 MILES, I HAVE NOT PUT 30,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE BEFORE A MAJOR ISSUE.)*CN

IN COLD TEMPERATURES THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR ON OUR 2005 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OR WILL NOT OPEN. WHEN IT DOES OPEN IT SOMETIMES WILL NOT LATCH WHEN CLOSED SO THE DOOR WOULD SWING OPEN IF THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED. IF IT DOES LATCH WHEN CLOSED IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT WOULD MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE DRIVER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE LEFT SIDE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. THIS HAPPENS ANYTIME THE TEMPERATURE IS 30 DEGREES F OR BELOW. *TR
I HAVE A NISSAN TITAN AND THE OTHER DAY I WAS TAKING OFF MY RECEIVER HITCH WHEN I NOTICED THAT MY REAR AXLE SEAL WAS LEAKING BAD, BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN LEAKING FOR LONG CAUSE I CHECKED IT OUT THE WEEK BEFORE. I HAVE TO TAKE IT IN AND SEE WHAT THE NISSAN DEALER SAYS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POP. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND WAS IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 72,000.
AT 16,000 FIRST AXLE SEAL LEAK. THEN AT 74000 MILES SECOND LEAK. FIRST WAS FIXED BY NISSAN AND SECOND LEAK WAS TOLD COULD NOT BE FIXED,COMPLETE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAD TO BE REPLACED OIL GETTING ON BRAKES AND REARS THAT COULD POSSIBLY BREAK EASILY COULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SOME TITAN TRUCKS. THIS IS THE FIRST REAR DIFFERENTIAL I HAD GO IN 48 YEARS OF DRIVING AND ATTRIBUTE THIS TO A BAD DESIGNED AND COST CUTTING BY NISSAN. *TR
2005 NISSAN TITAN REAR AXLE OIL SEAL LEAKING AGAIN. RIGHT SIDE WAS REPLACED IN OCTOBER 2007 WITH APPROX 45,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. NOW LESS THAN A YEAR AND A HALF LATER WITH 65,000 MILES ON VEHICLE THE SAME SEAL AGAIN NEEDS REPLACING. *TR

REAR WHEEL SEAL LEAK. JUST STARTED AND LOOKING TO REPAIR. *TR
ON MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN, BOTH OF MY REAR AXLE SEALS FAILED WITH ONLY 48,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE FLUID LEAKS AXLE LUBRICANT BY THE REAR WHEELS, WHICH GETS ONTO THE REAR DISK BRAKES, WHICH MAKES THE REAR BRAKES INEFFECTIVE, ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING A TRAILER. NISSAN REPLACED THE SEALS, HOWEVER THE POPULAR BELIEF OF THE CAUSE OF THIS IS A 1-WAY VALVE VENT THAT ALLOWS THE PRESSURE WITHIN THE AXLE TO ESCAPE, BUT DOESN'T LET AIR BACK INTO THE AXLE. THIS OCCURRENCE CAUSES A VACUUM INSIDE THE AXLE, WHICH PULLS ON THE AXLE SEALS AND CAUSES THEM TO AGE PREMATURELY. *TR
TOWING 5000 LBS TRAILER FOR 15 HOURS. REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILED AND LOCKED UP IN A TURN. AFTER THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT MAKE ANY TURNS FASTER THAN ABOUT 2 MPH SAFELY WHILE THE DIFFERENTIAL WAS LOCKED. VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER HAVING THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *JB
LOUD POP COMING FROM UNDERNEATH TRUCK DURING BACKING UP AND TURNING. LATER SAME DAY NOTICE REPEATED LOUD POPS DURING TIGHT TURNS TO THE LEFT. DROVE SLOWLY TO NISSAN DEALER THIS MORNING WITH POPS HAPPENING DRIVING STRAIGHT. DEALER LISTENED TO POPS AND WITHOUT ANY FURTHER DIAGNOSIS TOLD ME THEY WILL ORDER NEW DIFFERENTIAL UNDER WARRANTY. FAILURE OF REAR DIFFERENTIAL IN MY OPINION AT ONLY 52,221 MILES IS UNACCEPTABLE. MY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY WILL RUN OUT AT 60,000. DEALER WILL PROVIDE 12 MONTH 12,000 MILE WARRANTY ON NEW DIFFERENTIAL AND CLAIMS THAT IT WILL BE COVERED UNTIL 64,221 MILES. I AM NOW WORRIED THAT THE NEW UNIT COULD FAIL UNEXPECTEDLY AND CAUSE FUTURE EXCESS DAMAGE AND A POSSIBLE STRANDING OR WORSE AN ACCIDENT AT SPEED. TRUCK WAS REAR ENDED ON HIGHWAY, SUBSEQUENTLY 10 MONTHS LATER A LEAF SPRING POPPED AND WENT THROUGH BED OF TRUCK. BROUGHT IN TO HAVE REPAIRED AND SHACKLE FOR LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY ON BACK ORDER WITH NISSAN. HAVE BEEN WAITING 24 DAYS AND COUNTING FOR THIS PART WITH NO HELP FROM NISSAN CONSMER SERVICE. HAVE MADE APRROX 15 PHONES WITH ONLY 1 RETURNED CALL WITH NO ANSWER TO STATUS OF PART. *JB
2005 NISSAN TITAN LEFT REAR AXLE SEAL FAILURE. ON THE MORNING OF 8-21-2007 I NOTICED OIL INSIDE MY LEFT REAR WHEEL. I CLIMBED UNDER THE TRUCK AND COULD SEE CLEARLY WHERE IT HAD LEAKED OUT THE END OF THE AXLE. THE PREVIOUS DAY I HAD BEEN TRAVELING BACK TO MY HOME FROM A 6 HOUR TRIP. I FILLED UP WITH GAS ABOUT 3 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME-I DID NOT SEE ANY OIL IN REAR WHEEL (GAS CAP IS NEXT TO WHEEL). PROBLEM HAD TO HAPPEN AFTER FILL-UP-THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM BECAUSE I WAS TRAVELING AT NIGHT,70 MPH ON INTERSTATE. IF ALL FLUID HAD OF LEAKED OUT ,THAT COULD BE CATASTROPHIC AT THAT TIME. ALSO I DO NOT THINK THAT IT IS SAFE FOR DIFF OIL TO BE LEAKING ON REAR BRAKE DISKS. I KNOW THAT NISSAN IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THESE SEALS ON TITAN TRUCKS AND THINK THEY SHOULD BE MADE TO COME UP WITH A LASTING REPAIR BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS KILLED OR INJURED. MY LOCAL DEALER REPLACED THE LEAKING SEAL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THE DEALER REPAIRED THE ROTORS AND OTHER BRAKE RELATED FAILURES. AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE CONTACT HEARD METAL GRINDING WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. HE RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE FINE. THE CONTACT CLAIMS THAT THE DEALER WAITED FOR THE WARRANTY TO EXPIRE SO THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE VIN AND MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
I WAS ABOUT TO PULL INTO A MAIN THOROUGH FARE FROM A SIDE STREET GOING ACROSS ALL LANES TO TURN LEFT. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR OF THE VEHICLE I FELT A SUDDEN JUDDER FROM THE REAR AND A BIG CUT IN POWER. I ALMOST GOT HIT. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE GOING BUT THERE WAS POPPING NOISES COMING FROM THE REAR. THE DEALERSHIP IS REPLACING THE REAR AXLE AND DIFF. THEY WILL FURNISH ME PICTURES OF THE OLD UNIT. *TR
