I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WHEN THE REAR-END, LOCKED UP, AND THERE WAS A LOUD BANG FOLLOWED BY A VIOLENT JERKING MOTION. ALL I COULD HEAR WAS METAL ON METAL GRINDING AND MY TRANSMISSION GRINDING TO A HALT. SINCE THE REAR END HAS FAILED, THE TRANSMISSION HAS A SHUDDERING TO IT BETWEEN 30-35 MPH AND THE STEERING HAS BEEN OFF IN THE TRUCK AS WELL. IT IS HARD TO MAINTAIN CONTROL SOMETIMES, AND THE DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE REAR-END, BUT THE SHUDDERING AND STEERING PROBLEMS ARE STILL PREVALENT, AND THE ANSWERS I SEEM TO BE GETTING FROM THE DEALER IS THAT IT IS MY FAULT, MY PROBLEM, AND THAT I AM LOOKING FOR THINGS FOR THEM TO FIX!!!!*JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPLYING BRAKE PRESSURE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE VIBRATES. THE VIBRATIONS CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR BOARD. THE PROBLEM OCCURS WITHOUT WARNING AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY BECOME WORSE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED. *AK
WAS SITTING ON A SLIGHT UPHILL WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO A DRIVEWAY. HAD 2 MOTORCYCLES IN THE BACK. HIT THE GAS, HEARD A LOUD CLUNK THAT SHOOK THE WHOLE TRUCK. PULLED INTO PARKING LOT AND DISCOVERED IT WAS THE DIFF. AFTER THAT I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. ANYTIME I TURNED OR ACCELERATED THE DIFF WOULD GO CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. DEALER PAID UP TO $35 FOR A RENTAL CAR BUT BECAUSE I HAD THE DIRT BIKES I HAD TO PAY $10/DAY OUT OF POCKET TO RENT ANOTHER TRUCK. REPAIRS NOT COMPLETED YET. *NM
BRAKE PEDAL PUSHES BACK AGGRESSIVELY, SHIMMY IN STEERING WHEEL AT SPEEDS OF 35 MPH. STEERING WHEEL JERKS AT TIMES TO RIGHT AND LEFT AT SPEEDS OF UP TO 50 MPH ALONG WITH BRAKE PEDAL PUSH BACK. THIS HAPPENED IN A MATTER OF DAYS. THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE. DEALERSHIP SAYS I HAVE TO PAY TO GET NEW ROTORS A BRAKES. I HAVE NOT DROVE THAT AGGRESSIVE NOR SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES TO HAVE ROTORS REPLACED, NOR DO I RIDE THE BRAKES TO HAVE MY BRAKES REPLACED THIS EARLY IN THE GAME FOR A NEW TRUCK DO THIS! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS THAT I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT A POSSIBLE BRAKE AND ROTOR PROBLEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I WILL NOT PUT MY FAMILY IN THIS TRUCK. THE CORPORATE PERSON I TALKED TO SAYS THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM WITH THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THIS PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALL WAS ISSUED NOT EVEN A WARNING WAS POSTED. THIS IS NOT GENERAL MAINTENANCE THIS IS A MAJOR(SAFETY) DEFECT. CORPORATE TOLD ME THAT THE ROTORS ARE TO SMALL FOR THE TRUCK. IF THERE IS A MAJOR ACCIDENT WHO GETS STUCK WITH THE BILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND I COVER THE GAP. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED TWO TIRES FOR ABNORMAL WEARING IN THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK AND THAT IS AFTER ROTATING SEVERAL TIMES. IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE, LIKE THE ONE FORD HAD ON ITS EXPLORER? I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAR COMPANY TO ANYBODY. *JB
REAR END FAILED. NO TOWING WAS DONE WITH THIS TRUCK. NOTHING USER DID CONTRIBUTED TO FAILURE. REAR END REPLACED. REPLACEMENT TOOK 25 DAYS. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE FRONT END VIBRATED. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE TIRES AND THE TIRES WERE ROTATED. THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.
CRACK IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN HE DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DOWN SHIFT OR UP SHIFT. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO SEE IF THE VEHICLE WOULD CHANGE GEARS BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE FAILURE WOULD ONLY OCCUR WHEN DRIVING UP OR DOWNHILL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE FAILURE AND HE WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL, TRANSMISSION HOSE AND THE RADIATOR, BUT THE REPAIRS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED AND THERE WERE NO FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT WHEN DRIVING UP OR DOWNHILL FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AT 15-20MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE FRONT WHEELS STARTED SHAKING AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE CONTACT DOES NOT RECALL HOW THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT DURING BRAKING. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED; THE VEHICLE CONTINUED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND STRUCK AN ONCOMING VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS PRIOR TO THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE POLICE FILED A REPORT AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SERVICE DEALER WHERE IT IS CURRENTLY BEING INSPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED AND WILL PROVIDE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION IN WRITING CONCERNING THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A KNEE INJURY.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE OFF ROAD AND LIGHT TERRAIN WENT HE REAR DIFFERENTIAL STARTED MAKING NOISE I TOOK TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP AND IT IS BEING FIXED BUT THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. *JB
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN TITAN 4X4 THAT SEEMS TO BE BUGGED BY PARTS FAILURES (GREMLINS AS THE DEALER LIKES TP CALL THEM). THE FIRST PROBLEM (BRAKES) HAPPENED AT ABOUT 2 WEEKS OLD OR 1000 MILES. THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY FIXED THE PROBLEM(SO THEY SAID). ABOUT 1 MONTH LATER THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. AGAIN THE DEALER FIXED IT. AT ABOUT 5 MONTHS OLD (8000 MILES) THE REAR END SEEMS TO FALL APART. WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. THAT WHEN THEY FIX IT, THEY WILL PUT THE UPGRADED REAR END IN, WHICH TOOK ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO HAVE DONE. AT ABOUT 7 MONTHS OLD (14000 MILES) WHILE ON VACATION IN FLORIDA, THE STEERING COLUMN DECIDED TO FALL APART, CAUSING ME TO LOOSE STEERING AND ALMOST CRASH. NOW I HAD TO BRING IT TO A NEW DEALER DOWN IN FLORIDA (WHO DID NOT WANT TO TAKE THE TRUCK IN FOR REPAIR, BUT AFTER A LONG CONVERSATION WITH NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA TOOK IT IN, FOR 3 WEEKS TO FIX THE PROBLEM). NOW AFTER 10 MONTHS (16000 MILES) OF OWNING THE TRUCK, THE REAR END HAS BROKEN AGAIN. IT IS AT THE DEALER ONCE AGAIN, WHERE I WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE (VOR ORDERED) BACK ORDERED WITH NO DATE OF ARRIVAL. I LOVE THIS TRUCK BUT JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. *NM
1) DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES 2) LEFT REAR AXLE SEAL LEAKING. SPEWING DIFF. FLUID OUT ONTO BRAKE SYSTEM AND WHEEL. 3) DEALERSHIP REPLACED LEFT REAR AXLE, AXLE BEARING, AND SEAL. *TR
ON 03/27/2006 DRIVING TO WORK IN MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN [XXX] PICKUP ACCELERATED ON ITS ON. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT MERGING IN TO TRAFFIC WHEN IT ACCELERATED FORWARD BY IT SELF AND WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. WHEN THIS ACCRUED I TRIED TO PUT IT IN TO NEUTRAL, STILL NOTHING HAPPEN, EVEN WITH BOTH OF MY FEET BARRING DOWN ON THE BRAKE THE TIRES WHERE BURNING RUBBER AND I WAS STILL MOVING SLOWLY FORWARD. FINALLY I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND IT SHUT DOWN, I WAITED A FEW MOMENTS AND TRIED TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN. AT THIS TIME IT DID IT AGAIN AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF AGAIN, WAITED A FEW MORE MINUTES AND TRIED AGAIN, AT THIS TIME IT STARTED CORRECTLY AND I DROVE IT DIRECTLY TO KRAFT NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR THERE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. KRAFT NISSAN TOOK THE AFTERNOON TO LOOK OVER THE TRUCK, AT AROUND 3:01 PM THE SERVICE WRITER CALLED AND SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND MY TRUCK IS READY TO BE PICKED UP. I SAID THAT THE PROBLEM IS REAL AND THAT THEY NEED TO FIND IT, THEY SAID IF PROBLEM CAN'T BE SEEN THEY CAN'T FIX IT. I TALK WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND THEN CALLED NISSAN AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THE SAME THING. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IF THE PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN THEY CAN TRY TO SOLVE AT THAT TIME. ALSO WAS TOLD THAT MY FOOT COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME, TOLD HIM THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE BOTH OF MY FEET WHERE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BOARD TO STOP THE TRUCK. *JB [XXX] UPDATED 07/16/2012 *JS INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
PULLED UP TO STOP SIGN WITH NO PREVIOUS INDICATION OF PROBLEM. WHEN I PROCEEDED TO TURN LEFT, THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL STARTED MAKING LOUD CLUNKING NOISES AND SLIPPED IN AND OUT OF ENGAGEMENT. I WAS ABLE TO PUT TRUCK IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE TO GET IT TO DEALERSHIP. *JB THE PROBLEM HAS NOT YET BEEN CORRECTED AS NISSAN STATES I NEED A NEW REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND THEY ARE ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THEY CAN GIVE ME NO ESTIMATE AS TO WHEN I WILL GET MY VEHICLE BACK.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE (2005 NISSAN TITAN, 12,800 MILES) - THERE WERE VERY FEW SIGNS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE OF THE READ DIFFERENTIAL. I NOTICED SOME LOUD THUDS COMING FROM THE DRIVETRAIN AS I ACCELERATED. THEN WITHIN ABOUT 0.5 MILES OF DRIVING, THE THUDS WERE LOUDER AND MUCH MORE FREQUENT, AND THE TRUCK WAS NOTICEABLY STRUGGLING TO MOVE. I IMMEDIATELY PARKED IT AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE REPLACING THE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY (THE DAMAGE IS IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL, BUT APPARENTLY NISSAN JUST REPLACES THE ENTIRE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY). THE AXLE ASSEMBLY IS BACK ORDERED FOR 2 WEEKS. *JB
THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IN MY VEHICLE HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WAS GIVEN NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT EXACTLY WENT WRONG WITH IT. THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNK IN THE REAR END WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE. DEALER REPLACED IT AFTER THREE WEEKS. *JB
1. WAS TURNING OUT OF PARKING LOT AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN I HEARD A CLANK, THEN LOSS OF POWER. I REGAINED POWER MOMENTARILY, BUT WAS NOT SURE WHAT EXACTLY HAD HAPPENED. I THEN DROVE HOME, ABOUT 1/2 A MILE, AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP THEN ASKED ME TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO THEM, ABOUT 4-5 MILES AWAY. THE DEALERSHIP RECOGNIZED THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG, BUT SOONEST AVAILABLE TIME TO LOOK AT IT WAS AFTER THE WEEKEND. I LEFT THE TRUCK AT THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT THE WAY IT WAS THEN. 2. THE FAILURE ENDED UP BEING THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND SINCE THERE HAS BEEN A NATIONAL BACK-ORDER IT HAS LEFT ME WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION UNTIL THE DEALERSHIP COULD RECEIVE THE PARTS AND INSTALL THEM. I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO THE STORE TO BUY FOOD. 3. THE DEALERSHIP ORDERED REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR WHAT WAS BROKEN AND THEY PAID FOR MYSELF TO HAVE A RENTAL CAR WHILE I WAIT FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN AND GET PUT IN. *NM
1. NO SIGNS OF ANY TROUBLE, WENT TO ACCELERATE AROUND A CORNER AND AXLE EXPLODED. 2. FAILURE CAUSED COMPLETE REAR AXLE TO BE REPLACED, LOSS OF VEHICLE USE AND TIME. 3. NISSAN TOWED TO DEALERSHIP REPLACED COMPLETE AXLE AFTER WAITING 2 WEEKS FOR A AXLE. MY DEALERSHIP WAS GREAT! KEN GARFF OREM, UTAH. *NM
REAR END FAILURE HAVE NOT BEEN TO DEALER YET STUCK ON THE SIDE OF A MAJOR FREEWAY ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL 18 WHEELERS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SHOULDER. *JB
I PURCHASED MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2005. I NOTICED A VIBRATION BEGINNING IN LATE FEBRUARY 2006 WHEN BRAKING. ON MARCH 11, 2006, THE BRAKES WERE REPORTED WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS DURING REGULAR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AT 17344 MILES. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN REPORTED THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND RECOMMENDED AN UPDATED BRAKE KIT IF THE VEHICLE HAD NOT ALREADY HAD IT. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT THERE WAS NO NEED TO DO THIS WORK UNTIL THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE. THE VIBRATION HAS CONSISTENTLY WORSENED SINCE THAT TIME AND THE ENTIRE TRUCK VIBRATES WHEN BRAKING. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. I HAVE OWNED MANY OTHER TRUCKS AND NEVER REQUIRED BRAKES OR ROTOR REPAIR WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF PURCHASE. I HAVE RESEARCHED DIFFERENT WEBSITES TO DISCOVER THERE HAVE BEEN NO RECALLS IN THIS AREA. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL 30MPH ON A WET ROAD, BRAKE PRESSURE WAS APPLIED AND THERE WAS A FRONT END VIBRATION AS THOUGH THE ABS ENGAGED. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY THE VEHICLE'S REAR END SLING AROUND AND STRIKING SOME BRUSH AND TREES WITH MINOR DAMAGE. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND THE POLICE WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS SEEN BY A DEALER WHICH REPLACED THE ROTORS, BUT SUGGESTED THE ACCIDENT COULD BE ATTRIBUTED TO THE WET ROAD CONDITIONS.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. NO WARNING SIGNS. STILL ARGUING WITH THE DEALERSHIP. *JB
IN THE 2005 NISSAN TITAN OWNER'S MANUAL PAGE 2-45 "INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS" READS "AUTO-REVERSE FUNCTION...IF THE CONTROL UNIT DETECTS SOMETHING CAUGHT IN A WINDOW EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC OPERATION AS IT IS CLOSING, THE WINDOW WILL BE IMMEDIATELY LOWERED." THAT IS NOT HAPPENING, WHEN WE USE THE AUTOMATIC CLOSE FOR THE WINDOW, IT WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY LOWER IF AN OBJECT GETS IN THE WAY. *JB
WARPED ROTORS , 4 ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR WITH LESS THAN 17000 MI. THE PROBLEM HAS JUST STARTED FOR 5TH TIME, LESS THAN 1000 MILES AFTER 4TH ATTEMPT. THE TRUCK IS ONLY USED FOR A FAMILY CAR NOT FOR HEAVY DUTY USE. *NM

I DRIVE 2005 NISSAN TITAN TRUCK 99.9% OF THE TIME IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE ON HIGHWAY W/O TOWING. AT 17,500 MILES THE REAR END MADE A LOUD BANGING NOISE AND THEN GRINDING NOISE. REAR END FAILED FIRST TIME. AT 21, 500 MILES SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN!*AK
2005 TITAN KING CAB DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE STICKS OPEN IN FREEZING TEMPERATURE OR A LITTLE BELOW. NO CONTACT WITH WATER FOR OVER A WEEK. THIS KEEPS THE DOOR FROM CLOSING ALL TOGETHER. QUICK FIX. MUST HOLD CLOSED AND LOCK MANUALLY. ONCE LOCKED, HOWEVER, ONE CANNOT EXIT VEHICLE FROM THAT SIDE. POSSIBLE DEATH TRAP. DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEM. ONCE IT GOT IT TO THE DEALER IT WAS 50 DEGREES OUTSIDE. GO FIGURE. NEW DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY ON ORDER. *AK
CLAYTON COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT ENGINE 8B RESPONDED TO A POSSIBLE VEHICLE FIRE. WHEN ENGINE 8B ARRIVED AND INVESTIGATED THE SITUATION THEY DISCOVERED THE FIRE WAS OUT. THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT BY OCCUPANT WITH A WATER HOSE. THE OCCUPANT ADVISED HE WAS IN HIS GARAGE AND LOOKED OUT AND SAW SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE IN HIS DRIVEWAY. THE OCCUPANT ADVISED THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS ON FIRE AND THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE SEAT WHERE THE POWER SEAT CONTROLS ARE. THE OCCUPANT ALSO ADVISED HE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THE FIRE. 2005 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB. REAR WHEEL DRIVE. NORMAL DRIVING ABOUT 15,000 MILES ON TRUCK. REAR END OF TRUCK BEGAN EXHIBITING A WHINE SOUND. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP. AND THEY REPLACED THE REAR END, STATING THERE WERE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THEM. *AK
THE DOOR HANDLES ON MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN FREEZE EVERY TIME THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING . I LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST ! I BOUGHT THE TRUCK FOR SAFE WINTER DRIVING BUT WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING THE DOOR HANDLE FREEZES UP AND WONT OPEN . IF YOU DO MANAGE TO SOMEHOW GET THE DOOR OPEN YOU CAN NOT CLOSE IT AGAIN UNTIL IT THAWS OUT . MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER BOTH USE THIS VEHICLE AND I CONSIDER THIS AN UNSAFE ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO READ MANY FORUMS PERTAINING TO THIS PROBLEM AND AM WONDERING WHY THIS HAS NOT BECOME A RECALL. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS DEFECTIVE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD FIVE MORE TIMES BUT THE DEFECT WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STOPPING THE BRAKE PEDAL SHOOK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO STATED THAT DURING ASSEMBLY THE DISCS AND ROTORS FOR A MAXIMA WERE PLACED ON THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALER OFFERED TO REPLACE THE DISCS AND ROTORS, BUT THE CONTACT DECLINED. THE DEALER INDICATED THERE COULD BE MULTIPLE VEHICLES PRODUCED AT THE SAME PLANT WITH THE INCORRECT BRAKING COMPONENTS.*AK
MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN HAS HAD A REAR END FAILURE AT 12,500 MILES. THEY CANNOT TELL ME WHEN THEY CAN GET REPLACEMENT PARTS. *JB
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB WHICH HAS FAULTY DOOR LATCH MECHANISMS. WHEN TEMPERATURES BECOME NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING SOME OR ALL OF THE DOOR LATCHES FAIL TO OPERATE PROPERLY. WHEN IT OCCURS IT CAUSES THE DOORS TO STAY LATCHED, IF IT OCCURS ON ALL THE DOORS AT ONCE YOU CANNOT GAIN ENTRY TO THE VEHICLE. THEY ALSO MALFUNCTION IN THE OPPOSITE, OPENING BUT NOT LATCHING LEAVING THE DOOR ABLE TO SWING FREE. I BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM TO MY SERVICE MANAGER AND THEY SAID THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAD HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. THEY APPLIED A GROSS AMOUNT OF SILICONE SPRAY TO THE LOCKING MECHANISM HOPING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE DOOR HAS MALFUNCTIONED TWICE SINCE THEN WITH THE COLD TEMPERATURES. I HAVE A SMALL CHILD AND I FEEL THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE PROBLEM THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURY. *NM

WHILE PUTTING GASOLINE INTO MY 2004 NISSAN TITAN IT SPILLS BACK OUT OF THE TANK. THE GAS WILL GO INTO THE TANK THEN THE PUMP WILL STOP AND THEN GAS WILL SPUW BACK OUT. THIS NORMALLY HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I CAN GET THE TANK FULL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONE TIME, IT HAPPENS ANYTIME MY TANK IS LOW AND I AM READY TO FILL UP WITH GAS. THE TANK HAS BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THIS HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. *NM

REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE DURING NORMAL DRIVING. VEHICLE HAD 9,000 MILES. UPON TAKING A RIGHT TURN A LOUD CLANK WAS HEARD BY MYSELF AND PASSENGERS FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. ON MY WAY HOME I REALIZED THAT ONE TIRE WAS NOT MAINTAINING TRACTION EVEN THROUGH SLOW TURNS, AND THE CLANKING RECURRED EVERY SO OFTEN. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND HE AGREED THAT REAR DIFFERENTIAL WOULD BE REPLACED. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF REPLACING THE UNIT IN 8 DAYS, HOWEVER IT WAS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE TO BE WITHOUT THE CAR FOR THAT PERIOD.*AK
REAR END FAILURE (MANY FAILURES HAVE BEEN REPORTED) I HAVE CHILDREN THAT RIDE WITH ME AND AM CONCERNED IF REAR END WENT AT SPEED. MINE WAS NOT A TOTAL FAILURE, YET. I BOUGHT A CAR ON 08/06/2005 THE SALES PERSON TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A PURCHASE AND HE ASK ME TO SIGN THE BLANK FORMS AND THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO FILL THEM UP AND SEND THEM TO MY HOME ADDRESS WHEN I RECEIVED THE PAPERS I NEVER CHECKED THE INFORMATION. CATASTROPHIC REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. WAS LEAVING WORK AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE, CAME TO STOP AT STOPSIGN, HIT THROTTLE TO GO AND BANG, THE REAR BLEW. AFTERWARDS THE TRUCK WOULD NOT MOVE, BUT THE DRIVESHAFT WAS SPINNING AND BAD GRINDING AND CLUNKING SOUNDS COULD BE HEARD. I'M SURE NISSAN IS GOING TO REPLACE THE AXEL ASSEMBLY ALTHOUGH IT IS STILL IN THE SHOP. I HAVE CORRESPONDED WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN, AND THE REAR IS ALWAYS REPLACED AS A UNIT, AND NISSAN ISN'T REALLY ACNOWLEDGING THAT A PROBLEM EXISTS, ALTHOUGH SOME HAVE GONE THROUGH 3 REAR ENDS. AS FAR AS I KNOW, THEY ALL HAVE THE ELECTRONIC LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL OPTION. NOBODY WAS HURT, BUT I WOULDN'T WANT TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF IT FAILED ON THE HIGHWAY. *NM
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW. AT 7000 MILES I STARTED EXPERIENCING SEVERE BRAKE SHUDDER WHENEVER I APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT PADS AND ROTORS AND TURNED THE REAR ROTORS. BRAKES SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 7000 MILES.
MY 125 LB WIFE DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE SEAT SENSOR FOR THE AIRBAG IN MY 05 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN 100% OF THE TIME, IT HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY. THE DEALER CHECKED & CONFIRMED THAT THE SYSTEM IS OPERATING NORMALLY AND STATED THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING MORE. AT THIS POINT MY WIFE IS RIDING IN OUR TRUCK WITHOUT AN AIRBAG. WHILE SHE DOES WEAR A SEAT BELT, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE COMFORT OF KNOWING THE FULL SAFETY SYSTEM IS OPERATIONAL IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. RESEARCH AND OTHER COMPLAINTS POSTED HERE SHOW THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. *NM
