I HAD REPLACED 3 OF 4 TPMS SINCE I OWNED THE CAR AND THE SENSORS WERE CRACKED AND LEAKING AIR NOT FROM THE VALVE STEM BUT THE ACTUAL SENSOR ITSELF THE REPAIR SHOP STATED TO ME.
I WENT OUT TO START MY CAR BACK IN MARCH AND SAW THAT I HAD A FLAT TIRE. I THOUGHT IT WAS A ROUTINE FLAT TIRE UNTIL I WENT TO GET THE CAR REPAIRED AND THEY BILLED ME FOR $1500 & EXPLAINED HOW MY STRUTS ON MY FRONT WHEELS BUSTED SO BAD THAT IT WAS PUSHING ON MY TIRES PUNCTURING THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE. THEY WENT ON TO EXPLAIN FURTHER HOW I MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING EXTREMELY HARD B/C THOSE ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO BREAK. SINCE THERE WAS NOTHING BUT THE OCCASIONAL BUMP IN THE ROAD I HIT I REALIZED THAT SOMETHING HAD TO BE WRONG WITH THE STRUT AND SPRINGS. THIS COMPLAINT IS MOTIVATED BY THE FACT THAT MY STRUTS AND SPRINGS COULD HAVE BROKEN DURING MY ROUTINE TRIPS ON THE HIGHWAY BETWEEN BLOOMINGTON AND INDIANAPOLIS. IF THEY WOULD HAVE BROKE AT THAT TIME WHILE TRAVELING BETWEEN 50-70 MPH I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A HIGH SPEED ACCIDENT THAT COULD VERY EASILY HAVE TAKEN MY LIFE OR THE OTHERS AROUND ME.
CAR TIRED KEEP DEFLATING EVERY 2-3 DAYS. THREE TIMES STUCK AT DIFFERENT PLACES UNABLE TO MOVE MY CAR, UNTIL MY HUSBAND GET THERE TO INFLATE THE TIRED. I HAVE BEING TOLD IS THE SENSOR VALVE FOR THE TIRE WHICH CONTROL THE TPMS SYSTEM. I CALL THE DEALER IN LAUREL AND THEY CHARGE 265.00 FOR THAT, BUT MANY OF THE SAME CAR, HAD THAT PROBLEM AND FILE A RECALL.THIS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
MY NISSAN VERSA'S FRONT LEFT PASSENGER TIRE WAS LOSING AIR EVERY FEW DAYS. WHEN I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO SHOP NEARBY, THEY FOUND THAT THE ALUMINUM VALVE STEM HAS CRACKED AND THAT'S WHAT IS CAUSING THE LEAK. THIS FAULTY VALVE STEM COULD HAVE LEAD TO TIRE FAILURE AND POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. PLEASE ADVISE HOW TO GO ABOUT ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. *TR
REPEATED FLAT TIRES DUE TO AIR LEAKS WHICH RESULTED IN FINALLY DISCOVERING THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING VALVES ON 3 OF 4 TIRES WERE FAULTY. THESE VALVES WERE $150 EACH WHICH IS MORE THAN THE TIRES COST! WHEN TOOK IN FOR REPAIRS, WAS TOLD THAT THE VALVES ARE MADE OF METAL WHICH IS PRONE TO RUST ESPECIALLY WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED IN THE TIRE WELLS. APPEARS TO BE FAULTY ENGINEERING. CLAIM BY REPAIR PERSONNEL THAT A VALVE LESS LIKELY TO RUST WOULD BE BEST BUT NO VALVE AVAILABLE THAT WILL ALSO MEET NISSAN REQUIREMENTS TO PROVIDE TIRE SENSOR INFORMATION BACK TO THE COMPUTER SIGNAL. WAS TOLD THAT IF THE SENSORS WERE NOT REPLACED COULD HAVE UNEXPECTED FLATS OR BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I DRIVE OVER 60 MILES A DAY FOR WORK SO SAFETY IS A CONCERN. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION ABOUT NEED FOR RECALL. *TR
VALVE STEM IN REAR PASSENGER TIRE FAILED RESULTING IN SLOW LEAK. REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE VALVE STEM INCLUDING THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM DEVICE IN WHEEL. *TR
TIRES WORE OUT AND WERE BALD AT APPROX 24,500 MILES. PRODUCT CAME NEW ON NEW VEHICLE 2009 NISSAN VERSA. TIRE MANUFACTURE DENIED WARRANTY COVERING WEAR/TREAD EVEN THOUGH TIRES ARE SOLD WITH 60,000 MILE OR 6 YEAR WARRANTY. TIRES WERE ROTATED/BALANCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE. *TR
THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I CHECKED I FOUND A TIRE THAT WAS DOWN 15LBS. I DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALER WHO SAID THE TPMS UNIT WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $218. THE TIRE ONLY HAS 8,000 MILES ON IT. WILL I HAVE TO REPLACE THE OTHER THREE SENSORS? *KB

2009 NISSAN VERSA. THE TPMS "TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM" THE VALVE STEMS ON ALL FOUR TIRES WAS EITHER CRACKED AND / OR DEFECTIVE, TWO WERE LEAKING AIR SO BADLY I HAD TO FILL THEM BACK UP WITH AIR EVERY DAY> I THOUGHT I HAD DRIVEN OVER SOME NAILS THAT MADE THEM LEAK AIR. WHEN I WENT TO GET THEM CHECKED, I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE VALVE STEMS THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I HAD TO REPLACE THEM WITH RUBBER VALVE STEMS. DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED AND GOING TO CALL THEM ABOUT IT. BUT DON'T THINK THEY ARE COVERED. JUST GLAD I DIDN'T HAVE A BLOW OUT OR SUDDEN LOSE OF AIR THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO WRECK. THIS DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AN ISOLATED PROBLEM AND THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON FAULTY EQUIPMENT. *TR
THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR SYSTEM IN THE NISSAN VERSA APPEARS TO HAVE A SYSTEMIC FAULT OF CONSTANT LEAKING. I LIVE IN WISCONSIN (SALT IN WINTER) AND I AM NOW FORCED TO REPLACE THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR SYSTEM FOR THE SECOND TIME AT A COST OF $180 PER TIRE. IT APPEARS TO WEAR OUT EVERY 2 YEARS, LEADING TO LEAKING OF THE TIRE, CAUSING AN UNSAFE SITUATION. *TR

I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE LOW-TIRE SENSOR SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY 2009 NISSAN VERSA. I KEPT TAKING IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THEY WOULD GET IT TO GO OFF BUT TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AFTER 12,000 MILES. SO I WOULD TAKE MY CAR TO A LOCAL TIRE COMPANY AND THEY WORKED ON IT A FEW TIMES. WHEN I NEEDED NEW TIRES, THEY REPLACED ALL MY TIRES WITH NEW ONES, AND EVEN SERVICED THE PRESSOR SENSORS. WITHIN 1/2 DAY OF DRIVING OFF WITH NEW TIRES, THE SENSOR CAME BACK ON. IT HAS BEEN ON SINCE. THIS SYSTEM COULD SAVE LIVES IF WE DIDN'T HAVE TO IGNORE THEM SO MUCH!!! DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE MY VERSA. I WOULD RATHER IT HAD A RELIABLE TIRE PRESSURE SENSING SYSTEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN VERSA EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES, SIZE P185/65/R16. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT TIRES BECAME WORN AT 25,000 MILES ALTHOUGH THE TIRES HAD BEEN ROUTED EVERY 5,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND WAS ADVISED TO CALL THE TIRE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WHO TOLD THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AT THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY FOR THE TIRES AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENTS. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH TIRE SENSOR ON THE NISSAN VERSA. ONE HAS BEEN REMOVED BECAUSE IT IS CRACKED AND ANOTHER ONE IS FAILING. WHAT HAPPENS IS THE TIRES LOOSE AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF AIR BECAUSE OF THIS FAILURE AND COULD CAUSE A CATASTROPHE. WE WERE TOLD BY NISSAN THAT THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT WE WOULD BE GLAD TO ORDER 2 NEW SENSORS FOR APPROXIMATELY $300.00. THAT PRICE IS MORE THAN THE TIRES ARE WORTH AND WE REPLACED THE STEMS WITH STANDARD ONES AND OUR LIGHT FOR TIRE SENSOR STILL IS ON AND I AM CONSTANTLY CHECKING THE OTHER 2 TIRES TO SEE IF A DANGEROUS SITUATION IS DEVELOPING. *TR

TWO KEPT LOSING AIR AND TRIGGERING THE LIGHT IN MY DASHBOARD MORE FREQUENTLY UNTIL IT WAS EVERY 2 OR SO DAYS AND I HAD IT REPLACED WITH A PLAIN VALVE TILL I COULD GET TO NISSAN FOR A REPLACEMENT. THE OTHER WAS SUDDENLY ALMOST FLAT AND I HAD THE VALVE REPLACED. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, MAYBE IT WAS THE WEATHER, EVEN THOUGH ONLY ONE TIRE WAS LOSING PRESSURE EVERY 2 DAYS. I HAVE CHANGED DEALERSHIPS AND THEY HAVE REPLACED 2, AND I WILL BE BRINGING IN THE THIRD. ALL WERE ORIGINALLY DIAGNOSED AND HAD PLAIN VALVES REPLACED AT MY LOCAL TIRE STORE. WHEN WILL THE FOURTH GO, AND WILL IT KILL ME OR SOMEONE ELSE? ARE THE REPLACEMENTS ANY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINALS? I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY NEW CAR. *TR

IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TPMS GAUGE WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING AIR. AFTER RESEARCH I FOUND THAT NISSAN RECALLED SEVERAL VEHICLES FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. BECAUSE MY NISSAN VERSA WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, THEY REFUSED TO COVER IT. THE GAUGE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND IT CANNOT BE DRIVEN SAFELY WITHOUT IT. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT A 2009 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING ON A WET ROAD AND TAKING A CORNER THE CAR LOST TRACTION FORCING ME TO SLOW DOWN TO ALMOST A HALT. THE STOCK TIRES (185/65R15) SEEM TO BE UNDERSIZED FOR THE HIGH CENTER OF GRAVITY. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
