The transmission hoses don't stay on well, I have had to take it to a specialist mechanic on two separate occasions because it's a CVT and no dip stick transmission. Reached 102,000 mi and transmission started to shutter and then 2 weeks later quit. Transmission stopped working January 6th 2026
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated upon inspecting the vehicle, she noticed water intrusion in the tail lights and headlights. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.
The driver side door is stuck in the closed position and will not open. The only way for the driver to get out of the car is to move to the passenger seat and open the passenger side door. To get inside and drive the car, the driver needs to open the passenger side door and move to the driver seat. The condition creates a very dangerous situation for the driver and passengers. The design of the door mechanisms should fail on the OPEN POSITION for safety! I have owned many cars and this is the first time I experienced this dangerous condition. Today, 1/7/2025, I went to the Nissan dealership to repair the door defect. The replacement parts are not available and will be ordered. The repair cost of the Work Order is $825.61. I believe this defect should be recalled to protect other drivers and avoid dangerous situations. The Gear Shift Selector is stuck in Park. Being forced to use the manual override in order to drive, reverse or place car in neutral every time the car is being used. This is ridiculous!
Car unstable while driving all of a sudden will not shift into 2cd gear will not go over 20mph car is 2013 but only has 32,000 miles. Dealer said no recalls warranty only 5 years or 100,000 miles, it is past that period. Online suggest multiple complaints from consumers with cvt transmission, clasa acyion suits etc.thwy want 5550.00 to replace transmission.
Speed Control, Engine and Transmission issues: After the recall from the manufacture was issued for the the acceleration problems this car still takes long to accelerate and get the car going. It feels like the transmission/ and or engine is ready to go out also and this car is only roughly at 80,000 miles. This car is well maintained.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart on the third attempt; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission (CVT) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The VIN was not available.
I feel something is wrong when I step on the accelerator and the rpm scale shakes while driving. When I stop and go while waiting for the signal, the rpm does not increase and speed does not increase even though I step on the accelerator to the end. When I visit mechanics, they told me it is a transmission problem.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while reversing at 2 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The contact also stated that the vehicle was hesitant to accelerate when driving at various speeds which caused the vehicle to jerk. The brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a passenger-side lower control arm bushing being separated from the control arm. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
For ten days my car suddenly loses 90% or more braking power—after moving at above 40 miles per hour for five minutes or more. Incredibly dangerous and no war I g lights and hard to diagnose. We are replacing master cylinder as they were investigated on this year and model. I want them to reopen that investigation and I want compensation.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated. The mechanic performed an oil change. Several weeks later, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power while driving. The contact coasted to the side of the roadway to shut off and restart the vehicle before driving to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the CVT needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.
.The automatic transmission sensor. When u turn on the right blinker the car starts stalling acting like it's going to die. And it's not right turns it's the actual right blinker. And yes can be inspected. . You need ur signals to communicate with other drivers. So right blinker is very important, not only that the car jerking around in traffic like that is dangerous. . The car was inspected by a mechanic.. .I just bought the car and I noticed it about a month after I bought the car from private owner.
Bottom line, Transmission needed. Had shifter put in stuck in park, paid for, right engine mount, paid, G censor said showed up . Trans is shot....this is what a Transmission person said.... couldn't get a person from Hesser Nissan only leave message, a week long nothing.
Transmission problems include lurching, acceleration issues, vehicle overheating. It has been very dangerous. In the middle of traffic the vehicle will lose power and start jerking.
The contact owns 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission warning light illuminated, and the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist where it was diagnosed that an unknown sensor needed to be replaced. The sensor was replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the transmission specialist where it was diagnosed that an unknown sensor needed to be replace. The unknown sensor and battery were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The contact then stated that her son had to jump start the vehicle multiple times before the vehicle started. The contact stated that she notified the mechanic at the transmission specialist where it was determined to be an electrical failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,606.
My Transmission was replaced in 2016 at 60K miles. 3 years after the car was bought brand new. As of today the car has 114K miles. September 9, 2022 my transmission completely shut down on me. Also the check engine like came on. I have had the car only a year and the problem just came about. Im worried and concerned that the transmission should have not got out this quick for me. And also concerned as to why the original owner had the same transmission problem as me and had to replace after 3 years! I got in my car Sep 9 , 2022 and drove about 20 minutes and the car started jerking forward and the RPMs were going crazy moving so fast. I turned around to head back home, i got on the bridge and was driving about 50/55mph. The car started decreasing in speed all the way to 0. Turned the car off and tried to continue to make my way back home. I had to take back streets home and every time I stopped at a red light or stop sign the car would take a second to drive off after. I brought the car to a mechanic who told me my transmission went out. Since the car transmission was last replaced only 54,000 miles have been put on the car. The fuel for the transmission was dark.
My car started jolting forward when trying to shift gears (automatic transmission). once i hit 100,000 miles. Then one day while in the drive thru I put my foot to the petal and it rolled forward with no true power to it. This happened again today after turning right at a light with oncoming traffic! I almost got hit! I am going to a mechanic tomorrow but came here and see 69 other people with SAME problem from the SAME year/model/make! This is a manufacturing issue, I literally only drive to and from work, no long trips, no racing around, etc. Please help!
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle started shuddering and the transmission slipped out of gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence where an independent mechanic diagnosed that the turbine input sensor circuit B, pressure control solenoids including solenoid B had failed. The output, input, transmission, and primary speed sensors were replaced. Additionally, the CVT transmission fluid was flushed and refilled; however, the failure persisted. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to bring the vehicle to their location for diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
I TOOK THE 2013 NISSAN VERSA TO RICART NISSAN DEALERSHIP ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASION DUE TO THE CAR WAS SHIFTING DIFFERENTLY AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR THE ONLY THING THEY TOLD ME WAS THE CAR HAD A CVT TRANSMISSION AND THAT IS WHY II FEEL THE JERK IS BECAUSE A CVT TRANSMISSION YOU WILL FEEL THE GEARS CHANGING AND THAT IT IS DIFFERENT THAT AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVIING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND SO PULLED OVER AND AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN SHE CALLED ME HER MOTHER [XXX] TO GET HELP OFF OF THE FREEWAY. WHEN I GOT THERE A POLICE CAR PULLED UP BEHIND US AND PUT HIS LIGHTS ON AND CAME TO THE CAR AND SAID HE WOULD SATY TO KEEP US FROM GETTING HIT ON THE FREEWAY FOR OUR SAFETY UNTIL WE GET THE CAR TOWED.. I CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND CHANGED THE COVERAGE ECAUSE WAS NOT ABLE AT THE TIME TO GET IT FIXED .THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A-TEAM TRANSMISSION GET A NEW ONE PUT IN. THERE WAS NO WARNING LAMPS, MESSAGES OR SYMPTOMS OF THE PROBLEM PRIOR TO FAILURE. I CANT BELIEVE THAT THIS STUFF HAPPENS AND PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ARE TAKING ADVANTEGE OF. When accelerating quickly to enter a highway, the car bucks continually until you pull over to the side of road and turn it off and back on.
My 2013 Nissan Versa has 80,000 miles. Since the car had 72,000 the transmission started to lurch forward while coming to a stop. This lurch has pushed me out into traffic on at least 5 times. As you come to a stop, and you think you are stopping it lunges forward placing others at serious risk. I must be very cautious when approaching sidewalks where pedestrians may be as well as oncoming traffic. The transmission also stalls and loses power when trying to accelerate. When I pull out sometimes the car does not move and will hesitate before it goes. This is extremely dangerous when pulling into oncoming traffic. The transmission "CVT" is a danger to people and should be replaced.
I was accelerating onto a highway speed increasing to highway speed and suddenly (in front of a tractor trailer moving at least 70mph) vehicle lost power began to shudder. We had a vehicle right on our bumper. The truck that had trouble changing lanes bearing down on us vehicle began to gain power and then lost it again. Once there was room we got over onto open shoulder (barely in time to avoid being absolutely crushed by this truck) we pulled over. Towed to a repair shop we learned the transmission had failed around 40mph to 50mph during acceleration. It was inspected by an ASE technician. Worse, we found out from the shop this happens to many transmissions in this same vehicle. This is scary.
My car had a problem from day one I bought. The tires always showing not working and car has absolutely no power if you going on hill. From last year car having really serious problems with transmission and shuffling.I took car to Nissan Car dealership and the are reprogrammed transmission.Unfortunately after a few weeks the same problem and even worst.Car making absolutely horrible noises and speed not going more then 15-20
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would jerk and shudder upon the depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. The contact would be forced to restart the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact initially took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The contact then called the dealer where they acknowledged that they were aware of failures with a similar vehicle; however, there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
CVT transmission doesn’t shift in high gear.
the heat shield fell off my 2013 versa. i understandthis is common versa cars. that shows manufacturing quality control issues that harm the engine. please make sure you report that the heat shield fell off the bottom of my car. it was not secrured properly. the ar only has 57,000 miles on it. in addition the headlights do not work. there must an electrical short that always causes the highbeams to fail.
Car won’t accelerate past 25mph and is very loud. I took it to a Nissian dealer service center and they told me that they can’t get the code to come up for a transmission but they think that’s the problem. However, the Nissans that came out in 2013 with my make and model had bad transmissions and Nissan won’t help or cover the transmission expenses that existed at the time of manufacturing.
the undercarriage of my car seems to be falling into pieces. the car has only 57,000 miles on it. it has sat in my driveway for 7 years because i had another nissan, my sentra, which i had for l5 years and it never had undercarriage issues. and i never had all these issues with my sentra that i am having with this versa now that i am free to drive it since i got rid of my sentra after l5 years. the dealer says power control arms pressure forceing grees to be released. and heat shield, repair heat shield ripped off bolts and causing rattling under vehicle. i just paid a $600 bill to that same dealer for that same areas of work not that long ago. why is my nissan falling apart. i had a sentra i had for l5 years and never had trouble with the undercarriage like this. i cant afford these big repair bills. the milage is very low for all these things to go wrong when i never had them go wrong on the sentra for l5 years. did ghosn steal money from versa?
Breaks was unsafe, some piece was broken close by my tires
i am getting water in my right tail light bulb so that it is out. i have only 57,000 miles on my car. it is 7 years old. this has no damage to the right tail light. it was just manufactured so it is a damage problem. nobody hit the car there in that area oranything. it just developed to have water in teh light bulb. nissan versa is not a well designed or manufactured car. it falls apart on the buyer. i bought this car new and hardly used it for 7 years. i had another car and used that more. it sat in my driveway falling apart.
my car is 7 years old but has only 57,000 miles on it. i had an older car so used that most of the time and saved this car. i have had endless problems with this car with its electrical system, the headlights go out all of the time and now the undercarriage is costing me alot of repair costs. dont know if i am being ripped off because i am a female senior citizen or the car is really fallingj apart at 57,000 miles. i paid well over $600 for repairs on exhaust system. now they tell me i owe almost $2,000 for repairs on something called abushing and a control arm and if i dont fix it the car will fall apart into two pieces. i have no way to get under the car for this kind of thing. i can so easily be ripped off. i need help. does the govt ever give any help to people. i need help b adly becuase i am so vulnerable tocrooked dealerships wanting to make money in this bad economy. pllease help me.https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/FMfcgzGllMLMMCnCVlTQDxQldZvZzwhN?projector=1&messagePartId=0.1
the tail lights get moisture in them and then do not work properly. there is a service recall on them from the nissan versa manufacturere. since there is a service recall ont his issue, why is this agency not requiring a recall. obviously there is a manufacturing safety defect present here. There is a service bulletin that explains it. Look at your tail lights and see if there is moisture in them. Of course it may not be the solution to your problem, but it is a known issue. The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle seized. The contact stated an unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the vehicle started jerking. The contact stated shortly after starting to drive, the jerking stopped and the contact continued driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that he continued to experience the failure intermittently. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
Car is experiencing transmission problems including: Shifting problems, hesitation on acceleration, delayed shifting, lack of power, shuddering, revving and/or surging RPMs, etc.
The car surges, jerks, increases in RPM's, stalls. This has been happening on & off for quite sometime, but recently has become more frequent.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle hesitated before the loss of motive power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the #3 cylinder misfired. The coils and spark plugs were replaced however, the failure recurred. Additionally, it was determined that the PCM was faulty and needed to be replaced or reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer and the local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE JERKS AT TIMES MAKING THE VEHICLE LUNGE FORWARD. IT ALSO DOES NOT ENGAGE FROM A STOP OR SLOW SPEED PLACING ME IN DANGER OF BEING HIT BY THE VEHICLES HESITATION. WHEN GOING UP A HILL THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE OR SLIPS PRIOR TO ENGAGING SO I HAVE NO POWER TO GO UP THE HILL. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS AT A STOP SIGN SO WHEN I PULL OUT I NEVER KNOW IF I WILL BE STUCK IN THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DANGEROUS. WHEN TURNING THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE FOR A SHORT TIME JERKING THE VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AT THE STOP THE ENGINE TURN OFF WITHOUT ANY ALARM THIS THE SECOND TIME THIS THING HAPPEN TO MY CAR
TRANSMISSION GAVE UP. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED THAT WARRANTY WOULD EXPIRE 4/15/20. I WAS VERY SICK JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2020; I WAS AFRAID TO LEAVE MY HOME BECAUSE OF COVID-19. I LIVE IN THE SACRAMENT VALLEY IN CALIFORNIA AND I HAVE BEEN MAINTAINING MY CAR AS SCHEDULED. NOW I NEED A TRANSMISSION ON A A CAR THAT IT IS NOT EVEN 10 YEARS OLD.
IN MAY 2020, PURCHASED 2013 VERSA USED FOR DAUGHTER. ON 1/1/2021, THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND AT SAME TIME THE RPM NEEDLE JERKED UP & DOWN. TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO TRANSMISSION. THIS IS TERRIFYING BECAUSE THE CAR IS JERKING & NOT ACCELERATING WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING(IN MOTION). I DID OBSERVE THAT ANOTHER COMPLAINT WAS MADE 10/25/2018 BY CAR VIN# SIMILAR TO OUR CAR-THAT COMPLAINT WAS VIN 3N1CN7AP8DL....PLEASE HELP.

my air conditioning is not working. i believe wires in my care are covered with soy which is an attractant to mice and rats and causes them to climb into my car and eat the wires, causing the car to malfunction. we need to outlaw and ban the use of soy feedstuffs on car wires, this is just ridiculous for allowing this to happen, to make cars a magnet for mice and rats.
THERE IS A LOT OF HESITATION WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, OFTEN SHAKING AND SHUDDERING. IT'S VERY SLOW TO ACCELERATE, AND GETTING TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS USUALLY TAKES QUITE A WHILE. ANYTHING OVER 65MPH CAUSES THE CAR TO PUSH INTO ABOUT 3500 RPM. WHILE IDLING AT A RED LIGHT, IT SHAKES AND SHUDDERS.
THERE IS HESITATION WHEN I ACCELERATE, IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT TO GET UP TO SPEED (WHICH ISN'T GREAT WHEN YOU'RE ON THE FREE WAY). WHEN I PUSH ON THE BREAK AND THEN TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK IT FEELS LIKE MY CAR IS STILL BREAKING. WHEN I'M STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT MY CAR SHAKES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED, THE ENGINE WAS SLOW TO RESPOND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CERRITOS NISSAN (18707 STUDEBAKER RD, CERRITOS, CA 90703, (562) 219-2788) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN HARD SHIFTING, LONG SHIFTING, SKIP SHIFTING, AND NOT SHIFTING. WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL GOING UPHILL IT WILL REV UP AND MAKE OUT ON RPMS AND I HAVE TO TURN OFF CRUISE CONTROL. AT ONE POINT GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY IT HAD NO POWER LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. I STILL AM HAVE SHIFTING ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION BEGAN HARD SHIFTING, LONG SHIFTING, SKIP SHIFTING, AND NOT SHIFTING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC THIS IS BECAUSE A REVERS TAIL LIGHT WENT OUT. REPLACED TAIL LIGHT AND TRANSMISSION WORKS NORMAL. THIS DOESNT SOUND RIGHT TO ME!
SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. FIRST TIME WAS TURNING LEFT AT A LIGHT, TOOK OFF AND MIDWAY THROUGH THE TURN CAR SHUT OFF AND LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO A BUS STOP AND NOT GET REAR-ENDED. NOW HAS STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET ROUGHLY 40 MILES PER HOUR ON THE STREET. CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND COMES TO A CRAWL, ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED BUT CAR BEHIND STOPPED IN TIME. STARTED CAR BACK UP AND IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN, THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER IT TURNED OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET.
