2015 Nissan Versa 83,850 odometer reading Complaint: Safety for other individuals driving similar vehicles. Daughter was driving recently on 91 freeway in Long Beach, CA extremely busy highway on a Friday afternoon. Driving in the middle lane the cars forward movement stopped but car still running. Mechanic diagnosis was the CVT transmission. The car did not give us any warning at anytime there were any issues with the transmission. My concern and hope other would know about CVT transmissions This could of been a very bad day for my daughter if an accident was caused due to this issue. Thank God for the California Highway Patrol, The 911 operator and the California Tow Truck highway Patrol who got her off the highway quickly and safely.
My skid mark symbol comes on, does not go off until 2or 3 days later. My Nissan will not accelerate over 20 miles per hour. I have had mu vehicle checked several times at the Grainger Nissan dealership several times within the past 4 years after they installed a new transmission. They found and corrected other issues, but not what causes the traction lights to come on and decrease speed causing me to have to use flashers and bike lanes where ever available until I get home. Independent mechanics have checked, knocked off traction light. It only comes on again. I have another mechanic at Precision Tune to check it out tomorrow. The last date of this occurrence was 12/ 08/2025
I was driving on the highway and my hood came up and hit my windshield. The windshield was cracked. The hood brackets were bent and the hood was dented. A trooper arrived on scene. The hood was tied down with bracing and needs repair. The hood latch gave way.
The PS warning light has been coming on intermittently. The power steering goes out and the vehicle is hard to steer. My safety and others are put at risk if I lose power steering. We have done research online and plan to take it to a dealership to confirm the exact issue. The PS warning light has come on a few times over the last several months and the power steering comes and goes.
The contact owned a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that her vehicle had caught fire while parked in her driveway. The contact stated that the fire department was called and extinguished the fire. The contact was unsure if the fire department used water or chemicals to extinguish the fire. The contact was not advised as to the cause of the fire. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The contact had informed her insurance provider, who declared the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The arm that comes in from the firewall of the clutch master cylinder that has the little plastic clip that attaches to the rod of the clutch pedal, constantly pops off leaving you with complete loss of control of your car. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY ALL NISSAN VERSA OWNERS!! This faulty issue has happened to so many people that have even had brand new clutch master cylinders replaced. Many owners have had to create a fix themselves due to this faulty clip. This can be extremely dangerous while driving. In my situation yesterday in HIGH traffic I lost complete control of my clutch. I have uploaded some photos that another person posted on a forum to show the clip and rod and that they used their own concoction to fix this. This has caused many versa owners complete loss of control of their vehicles.
I have had two major instances where the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) has caused my vehicle to lose total power. The first incident occurred around midnight one night as I was heading home. I was unable to accelerate from a stop sign and had to put the car in neutral and coast in reverse to be able to get my vehicle out of the road and along the curb. The vehicle would not start on its own. I had to have the vehicle towed and taken to a mechanic where repairs were completed. WIthin two months of these repairs, I notice the problem seems to be returning. Three times I notice the car not accelerating correctly and one instance where I tried to press the gas pedal and had no response from the car to it. Ultimately these issue led to my coming home one night around 2am and the car simply would not accelerate at all. I had to pull over and again call a tow truck. My mechanic tells me the the MAF sensor is faulty, but the company handling the extended warranty wants to see the car orior to repairs being done. However, that means I am stuck waiting almost a week before repairs can even begin. Its very nerve racking having this issue on your vehicle. Its an intermittent problem that seems to creep up whenever it feels like it, I have to drive my car for work and I often keep late hours. I dont like the idea of breaking down at night in an area I am not familiar with Having thid problem affects not only my and others safety but my overall well being and financial stability
The CVT transmission has only 80k miles and is changing gears for no reason up and down at all speeds and won’t drive safely. Rpm’s increase and randomly gear kicks in and hits very hard and then stops working.
The vehicle engine stalled while driving in motion at approximately 65 miles per hour, and occasionally would stall without warning while waiting at a traffic light stop. The vehicle occasionally would not allow for the key to turn its ignition and would remain locked unpredictably and would require extended amounts of time to lock/unlock via security key fob repeatedly to allow for the key to turn the ignition.
When you press on the accelerator and gain speed the car abruptly jerks to the right. I believe it’s caused by a defect of the traction control system.
the power steering system in my Nissan Versa has put me at risk it must be repaired because it is part of the recall car affected
After I bought my 2015 Nissan Versa with VIN: [XXX[ in April 2019, the water gained entry inside the car due to heavy rain a month later. The incident has continued to occur; Unfortunately, I had kept blaming it on the height between the parking ground and the car floorboard. The design flaws on the Versa allow water to collect below the windshield. When the collected water doesn't drain, so it flows into the car on the front passenger side floor below the compartment gloves area. It causes visibility problems during rainy and winter seasons since the inside car is not completely sealed causing insulation issues. I had to buy different products to address the visibility problems. My car got flooded last May 2022 to the point I had to get a cup to get some of the water out. I started hearing a sloshing sound and quirking sound when pressing on the brake not too long and so on. I initially paid $1,200 to repair the electrical problems to a Nissan dealer and later found out the harness needed to be replaced due to water damage costing $7,200. The design flaw made my car unsafe due to the visibility problem during inclement weather. There is a blog where 2014 through 2018 Nissan Versa owners describing the same issue I have been experiencing. I am dumbfounded Nissan has never bothered to address this issue for so long; very few people have a disposable income to pay for repairs or constantly buy a new car in less than 5 years. The sad thing, I had to borrow money from my life insurance to pay the car off. I know Nissan will use the inspection defense. Please keep in mind all the cars that have been recalled before passed inspection, so it is not a valid point. I was driving along and I went to stop but the brake didn't stop the car so I put in the car in park. Then the brake and engine lights started flashing at me so I turned of the car. I wasn't driving very fast at all, probably less than 20 miles per hour. Then when I restarted the car the brake and engine lights cam back on and the brake still wasn't working, and the car rolled while it was in park. I was not able to move the car to a safe spot. I had to sit partially in a traffic lane near a dangerous, blind curve. A sheriff's deputy saw my car and pulled in behind me to help protect me while we waited two hours for the Auto Club. My mechanic said the transmission totally failed and caused the problems.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while accelerating from at a complete stop, the vehicle jerked forward but failed to move. The contact continued to depress the accelerator pedal until the vehicle responded. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while accelerating from a complete stop. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 83,300.
Abs light turn on and it’s malfunctioning
The contact owned a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 70 MPH, a deer ran head-on into the vehicle and crashed through the windshield. The contact stated that the deer's antlers were stuck inside the vehicle as the deer frantically tried to escape the vehicle. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side air failed to deploy upon impact. The contact also stated that only the driver-side curtain air bag deployed. The steering wheel had locked without warning as her husband was able to stop the vehicle right before hitting two guardrails. The authorities were called to the scene and a police report was filed. The contact and her husband were treated on scene for scrapes and bruises but did not go to the hospital for further evaluation. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was totaled. The failure mileage was approximately 192,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle. The contact also stated that the vehicle made abnormally loud sounds while exceeding 20 MPH. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 31,700.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the hood latch inadvertently released, causing the hood to slam into the windshield. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired but continued to experience similar failures. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
The CVT transmission has gone bad on this vehicle, while on vacation the car started sputtering and shut off at a stop light. When I had the car towed to the dealership they told me I needed a new transmission because the torque converter has gone bad. When I complained that the car has only 97,000 some miles the dealership directed me to I-800-Nissan. I provided the requested information and received a call and the gentleman told me my car was not covered under the extended warranty (was extended to 80,000 miles), he went on to say that after researching to see if Nissan could help in any way he found that I had not have service done at one of their dealership and they could not offer any assistance at this time. The quote to replace the transmission with a remanufactured transmission is $4000.00. Upon researching this issue (I believe a transmission with a first maintenance schedule at 100,000 miles should at least make it to that maintenance timeline) I have discovered this CVT transmission problem is widespread among many Nissan models, the Versa included. There were no warning lights or prior problems before it just quit.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER SISTER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE HOOD RELEASED WITHOUT WARNING AND OBSCURED THE VIEW OF THE ROADWAY. THE DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE HINGES WERE TWISTED AND CLOSED THE HOOD. THE CONTACT CALLED COUNTY LINE NISSAN NORTH (522 WINSTED RD, TORRINGTON, CT 06790, (860) 482-5555). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,300.
A REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILED AND WAS REPLACED AT 14,900 MILES IN 2017. NOW, A REAR WHEEL BEARING HAS FAILED AGAIN AT 59,500 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT MAKE ANY CONCESSION ON THE FAULTY PARTS AND/OR FLAW IN THE QUALITY THAT NISSAN IS USING. WHEEL BEARINGS SHOULD NOT FAIL AT THIS POINT IN A VEHICLE'S LIFE (LOW MILES). THE WHEEL GETS EXTREMELY HOT AND COULD LOCK-UP CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS UNSATISFACTORY. THESE CAR MODELS SHOULD BE CHECKED AND REPLACED IF NEEDED BY NISSAN AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. MY VEHICLE IS TILL WITHIN THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT 4 MONTHS BEYOND THE 60 MONTHS.
I RECENTLY FILED A CLAIM REGARDING MY DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG STAYING ON. TODAY MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND SHOWS CONSTANTLY THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF WHILE THE ENGINE IS ON AND I'M DRIVING.
THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUALLY FLASHES WHEN CAR IS TURNED ON AND WHILE DRIVING. DOES NOT TURN OF WITH KEY RESET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON EXITING A STORE, HE HAD NOTICED THAT FUEL HAD LEAKED FROM HIS VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED VISALIA TOYOTA (922 S BEN MADDOX WAY, VISALIA, CA 93292) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD YET TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED OR DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. THE RADIO AND AIR WERE STILL ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IN ORDER FOR ME TO MOVE THE VEHICLE, I HAD TO PUT IT INTO PARK, TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO OFF AND TURN THE IGNITION BACK TO ON. BASICALLY TURN IT ALL THE WAY OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. *TR
MY DAUGHTER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT GOING APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES PER HOUR. SHE AND A CHEVY SILVERADO WERE TRAVELING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS WHEN THEIR TRAFFIC SIGNALS BOTH TURNED YELLOW. THINKING SHE WAS GOING TO STOP, HE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HER CAUSING HER TO T-BONE HIS TRUCK. THOUGH SHE HIT HEAD ON, NOT A SINGLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE IMPACT WAS ENOUGH THAT HER CAR HAS BEEN DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS AND SHE SUFFERED A CONCUSSION. SHE WAS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT UNFORTUNATELY. *TR
MY CAR LOSES POWER SPUDDERS AT TAKE OFF TURN OFF ON IT OWN SOME TIMES IT WON'T START ENGINE COMES ON FLASHIN. *TR
THE CAR DON'T RUNS GOOD!, HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION ONLY HAVE 47,677 MILES, O THINK HAVE WARRANTY! *TR
WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60 MPH CAR FEELS VERY OUT OF CONTROL LIKE IF ITS ON ROLLER SKATES, FEELS LIKE CAR IS GOING TO SWAY THIS WAY OR THAT WAY. VERY UNSAFE FEELING. VERY SCARY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, IN TRAFFIC, 30 - 35 MPH, OUTSIDE TEMP 88 DEGREES, AC WAS ON, FULL GAS TANK, HIGHWAY I-35 DOWNTOWN DALLAS IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR, THE CAR ABRUPTLY STOPPED WHILE DRIVING AND TURNED OFF. THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT RESPOND, BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND, ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, THE CAR COASTED TO A STOP. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, WAITED 10 SECONDS, CRANKED, GASSED IT AND IT STARTED BACK UP. I TOOK THE CAR TO O'RIELY'S AUTO PARTS IN CEDAR HILL 30 MIN. LATER TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH CAME BACK THAT THE BATTERY, STARTER, ALTERNATOR WERE FUNCTIONING NORMALLY.
SMELLS EXHAUST FUMES WHENEVER INTERIOR VENTILATION " FAN " SWITCH IS TURN ON - WITHOUT A/C.
WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED A LOUD HUMMING NOISE STARTING AT 40 MPH AND LATER DETERMINED THAT THE WHEEL BEARINGS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED . UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AMONG THIS MODEL OF CAR STARTING AS EARLY AS 10K MILES. MY MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT IT IS UNUSUAL FOR THIS PART TO BE REPLACED SO EARLY IN THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE BUT IF THE PART IN QUESTION WOULD HAVE EXPERIENCED A TOTAL FAILURE THE ENTIRE WHEEL FALLS OFF OF THE VEHICLE.
FEB. 10TH 2020 CVT TRANSMISSION STARTED SHUDDERING AND THEN BROKE DOWN IN VALDOSTA GEORIGA. VALDOSTA NISSAN SAID TRANSMISSION WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL FROM CLASS ACTION SUIT. HAD TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT VALDOSTA TRANSMISSION WITH REMANUFACTURED NISSAN TRANSMISSION ON FEB. 13TH 2020. DROVE 992 MILES TO JACKSON MICH. STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH NEWLY INSTALLED TRANSMISSION SO BRIGHT THE 201( NISSAN VERSA TO JACKSON NISSAN. WAS INFORMED BY SERVICE MANAGER JAMIE BALDWIN THAT TRANSMISSION FAILED DUE TO TRANSMISSION COOLING TUBE IN RADIATOR FAILED. OF COURSE THE RADIATOR FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED ANYMORE FROM THE EARLIER CLASS ACTION RADIATOR SUIT. I ALSO FILED A CLAIM WITH CONSUMER AFFAIR NISSAN, CASE #39608867. THE REPRESENTATIVE (AUSTIN) I SPOKE WITH DENIED THE CLAIM. I'VE TRIED TO REACH AUSTIN (615) 725-7582 A FEW TIMES TO GET ANY DOCUMENTATION THAT WAS USED FOR HIS DECISION TO DENY THIS CLAIM, BUT HE HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF MY CALLS. I BELIEVE THAT NISSAN HAS AN OBLIGATION TO THE CONSUMER WHEN THEY HAVE SOLD DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND RADIATORS.
MY NISSAN VERSA ONLY HAS 34,464 MILES AND THE WELDING BETWEEN MY FLANGE AND MUFFLER SNAPPED AND BROKE. I WAS DRIVING AND THE WELDING BROKE
NO ACCELERATION. WHEN TURNING CAR STUTTERS. THE CAR RUNS THIS WAY ALL THE TIME. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, TECH FOUND CODE P1715,P2765,AND P0965
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CAR TURNS OFF WHEN DRIVEN: I TOOK THE DEALERSHIP THEY 'FIXED' FOR $150 CAR STILL WHIT THE ISSUE!
HAVING PROBLEM STOPPING MY CAR IN WET OR SNOWY WEATHER. ANTI-LOCK BREAKS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY YEAR BUT WHEN I DO A SEARCH IT SAYS THERE ARE ZERO RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE. TRANSMISSION DOES NIT SHIFT PROPERLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIVERSIDE NISSAN (8330 INDIANA AVE B, RIVERSIDE, CA 92504, (951) 509-6500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD ONLY ASSIST WITH 60% OF THE REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
SOMETIMES STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE OWNING THE CAR. YOU CAN PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND IT WON'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL. I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT IT AND THEY TOTALLY BLOW ME OFF DENIED THAT ANYTHING WAS GOING ON THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE MOTOR THEY SAID. YOU HAVE TO JUST LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND THEN IT'LL FINALLY MOVE THE CAR WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT BECAUSE WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO GO SOMEWHERE AND IT DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE I COULD LEAVE YOU STRANDED SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADNOT SURE IF IT'S THIS IS RELATED TO THE WHATEVER'S CAUSING THAT PROBLEM BUT WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE AND YOU'RE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR VIBRATES REALLY BAD SOMETIMES YOU CAN STEP ON THE BRAKE LET OFF OF IT AND STEP BACK ON IT AND RPMS WILL GO UP BUT SOMETIMES THE RPMS WILL DROP DOWN TO BELOW 600 THAT'S WHEN THE ENGINE STARTS VIBRATING REAL BAD. I'VE TRIED TO GET THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES THEY ENDED UP TELL THEM IT WAS AN AFTERMARKET MOTOR MOUNT IT WAS NOT A NISSAN PART SO I CHANGED IT FOR A GENUINE NISSAN PART THEY CHARGE ME OVER $600 AND IT DID NOT FIX THE CAR IT'S STILL VIBRATED. WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK JUST SITTING IN A PARKING LOT SOMEWHERE THE CAR RUNS PERFECT THE RPMS ARE FINE AND THERE'S NO VIBRATION WHATSOEVER BUT AS SOON AS YOU PUT IT INTO DRIVE IT STARTS VIBRATING. IT HAS ALSO ALMOST WENT DEAD SEVERAL TIMES TO OVER THE LAST YEAR I JUST STARTED KNOCKING , SPUTTERING REAL BAD AND IT ALMOST GOES DEAD AND SHUTS THE MOTOR OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT RED LIGHTS FOR PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOTS ON CITY STREETS. IT'S ALMOST GONE DEAD JUST SITTING AT THE RED LIGHT WHEN THE CAR STARTS SPUTTERING.
AIRBAG LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF; IT HAS BEEN BLINKING FOR SEVERAL DAYS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY AND, EVENTUALLY, FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PASSPORT NISSAN (5000 AUTH WAY, MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY THIS MORNING I HEARD A CLICK AND THEN THE "PS", POWER STEERING, LIGHT TURNED ON. THE CAR WAS DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE WHEN THIS OCCURED. WHEN EXITING THE FREEWAY IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING HAD TURNED OFF. WHEN I GOT TO WORK UNATTACHED MY BLUETOOTH OBD-II READER TO CHECK THE CODES. THE READER SHOWED ZERO CODES RECORDED. I LEFT THE READER INSTALLED. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR TO GO TO LUNCH THE "PS" LIGHT WAS OFF AGAIN AND POWER STEERING WAS FUNCTIONING. WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT FOR LUNCH THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY CUT OUT AND THE "PS" LIGHT TURNED BACK ON. MY OBD-II READER REPORTED NO CODES. UPON STARTING THE CAR AGAIN THE "PS" LIGHT WAS ONCE AGAIN OFF AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED AGAIN. THE POWER STEERING WORKED DURING THE DRIVE HOME AND THE "PS" LIGHT STAYED OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, IT WAS STRUCK IN THE REAR AND PUSHED INTO THE REAR OF A PICKUP TRUCK. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT RETENTION MECHANISM FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT WAS THE PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE UPPER, MIDDLE, AND LOWER BACK, AN INJURY TO THE LEFT EYE, AND INJURIES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER AND ARM. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SIMILAR INJURIES AND BOTH OCCUPANTS RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING FACILITY AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THEIR FACILITY, WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED OR INSPECTED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED ABOUT TO PULL OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND AS I TURNED ONTO A SIDE ROAD AND GOT UP TO ABOUT 5-10 MPH MY CAR JERKED TWICE AND COMPLETELY STOPPED AND STALLED AND IT WOULDN'T REV UP OR DO ANYTHING. THE LIGHTS AND EVERYTHING WAS ON BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. I HAD TO COMPLETELY TURN THE CAR OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND BACK ON BEFORE IT WOULD GO AGAIN.
THE GEAR SHIFT DOES NOT LOCK AND THE TRANSMISSION JUMPS GEARS. OCCASIONALLY IT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER WHILE DRIVING
IT STARTED OFF WITH THE 'PS' LIGHT TURNING ON AND THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY TURNING OFF. THIS CAR HAS AN ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AND I AM GLAD I WAS IN A PARKING LOT. GOOGLING THE PROBLEM YOU GET MANY STORIES OF THE POWER STEERING FAILING ON THIS MODEL. IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER.
BOUGHT THIS CAR 5 DAYS AGO AND TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE ITS NOT ENGAGING RIGHT TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND HE SENT ME TO HIS MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS FINE HOWEVER ITS STILL GRINDING AT TIMES HESITATE S WHEN ACCELERATED SO MUCH SO IVE ALMOST BREN REAR ENDED TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT IT ONLY HAD 68000 MILES IT SHOULD NOT BE GOING OYT AND I JUST GOT IT
SEAT BELT LIGHT AND AIR BAG LIGHT NEVER GOES OFF EVEN WHEN AFTER BUCKLED IN
THE AIRBAG LIGHT JUST CAME ION WHILE DRIVING
