I have a lot of ticking and stalling lights are blinking I think it’s may be the transmission and I smell gas inside the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound coming from the front passenger's side air bag intermittently. The front passenger's side air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was provided a cost for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
THE TIMING CHAIN HAS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO DIE ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A FEW CARS. i HAD TO DRIVE MY CAR GOING ONLY 40 MPH ALL THE WAY BECASUE THAT IS ALL IT WOULD DO. IT HAS A VERY LOUD NOISE AND IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD ANYMORE. I HAVE READ AND NISSAN SHOULD REPLACE THESE BECAUSE ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEM YES MY CAR IS AVAILABLE FOR IMSPECTION i HAVE REGULAR KEPT MAINTENENCE ON IT NO THERE WERE NO WARNING LAMPS AT ALL JUST LOUD NOISE AND THEN NO COMPRESSION

Timing chains making noises and I have change my oil and it still making the noise...
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle was shaking. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the catalytic converter; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed that there was an engine misfire and the other catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 136,900.
Engine noise: - Noise coming from time belt support - The timing chain guide wore out fast. - Timing chain guide inner plastic wore out causing chain to rely metal bracket then the metal causing noise and eventually break the the timing chain.
On the invoice/receipt the part of automobile is Plenium Seal CK WP. The remarks/labor description on invoice indicates repairing vacuum hose at read of throttle. My car simply stalled while driving on a main busy street. Fortunately, it was on a holiday (Feb 21, 2022) and there were no school crossings on this day!. I was shaken up, anxious. There was a nearby (with in a quarter mile or so) an independent auto repair/service shop and I was able to have them fix the issue. I feel this is a safety issue, as this could have been worse, and stalled while driving on the freeway. I will be writing to the manufacturer to inform them what has happened. There were no other warning signs prior to the vehicle stalling while driving.
My engine self destruct because Nissan used cheap made plastic tensioners that shredded metal into my engine causing it to self destruct. Nissan knew about this problem and continued installing these tensioners from 2005-2015. I could have crashed into anything while driving or someone could have hit me if my engine would’ve died while driving. My safety was not prioritized by Nissan. The warning light was a whining noise coming from the engine while startup and pressing on the gas pedal. So they knew the problem existed but didn’t care.

WHEN I TURN THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION ALL LIGHTS COME ON AND THE MOTOR DOES TURN OVER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE STARTER AND A WEEK LATER IT DOES THE SAME SO I RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND P0181 CODE AND 3RD COIL PACK MISFIRE COMES ON. WHEN I CONTACT NISSAN MECHANIC HE SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE IPDM AND THATS WHY I'M CONTACTING YOU ALL

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REVVED UP BETWEEN 2,000 - 3,000 RPM HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT COOLANT HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED DUE TO THE COOLANT CONTAMINATION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
GOT INTO ACCIDENT WITH MY 2006 NISSAN XTERRA OFF ROAD. WAS DRIVING AT 8:05 PM AT 30 MPH DOWN PONCE DE LEON PASSING 207 IN ST. AUGUSTINE FLORIDA. A 2016 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS STOPPED WHILE TRAFFIC WAS MOVING I TRIED TO AVOID THE NISSAN, NO TIME TO BRAKE, IT CLIPPED THE BACKSIDE OF THE PATHFINDER WITH MY XTERRA. MY DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER AIRBAG WENT OFF. (EXPLODED?) IT BROKE MY PASSENGERS ARM AND UNKNOWN OBJECT IN PASSENGERS EYE. AIRBAGS BLOWN OUT DESTROYED MY DASH AIR BAG IS RIPPED LIKE IT HAD A BABY. BOTH MY PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELTS BOTH RELEASED THE SEAT BELTS THEY DIDN'T LOCK DURING THE ACCIDENT USUALLY THEY LOCK AND WON'T RELEASE MY DRIVER SIDE IS NOT LOCKING IN PLACE AS THE PASSENGER. DAYS AFTER THE ACCIDENT MY PASSENGER HAD HER (2003 NISSAN SENTRA)RECALLED FOR THE TAKATA RECALL , INSPECTED WAS POSITIVE FOR THE RECALL AND REPLACED IT WAS DESCRIBING THE SITUATION FOR THIS ACCIDENT I WAS TOLD BY A LAWYER TO REPORT THIS TO NHTSA. SUSPECTED TAKATA AIRBAGS. I PULLED THE VIN NO RECALL I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK MAYBE A MONTH PRIOR. I'M COMPLETELY UNKNOWN OF THIS SITUATION. INSURANCE COMPANY WANTED TO TOTAL THE XTERRA I TOOK IT HOME I STILL HAVE THE VEHICLE INSIDE WITH AIRBAGS BOTH INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE PROGRESSIVE THE DRIVER V02 HAD NO LICENSE THE OFFICER WAS TOO BUSY TO PROCEED WITH THE INVESTIGATION OF HOW THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED. THE DAMAGES WAS NOT BAD TO BREAK A BONE WITH AN AIRBAG AT THE SPEED AND IMPACT THIS CAR ACCIDENT HAD.
THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL FOR RADIATORS IN NISSAN XTERRAS IN 2019 , I WAS NEVER INFORMED ABOUT THIS RECALL OR SERVICE BULLETINS EVEN THOUGH NISSAN KNOWS I OWN THE VEHICLE IN THEIR DATABASE ALSO THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE IPDM BOX WHICH IS DEFECTIVE ACCORDING TO THE NISSAN PAGES ON FACEBOOK AND OTHER SITES, WHERE THE WHITE IPDM BOX IS DEFECTIVE AND CAUSES POWER LOSS AND LIGHTS NOT WORKING ALONG WITH CAR STALLING WHILE DRIVING, IT IS APPARENTLY A DEFECT AND THE COST TO REPLACE IT IS OVER I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE XTERRA TRANSMISSION COOLER DEFECT OR RECALL BACK IN 2019, IVE OWNED THIS XTERRA SINCE 2008 AND ITS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER PREVIOUS RECALL, ALSO THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WHITE IPDM BOX, (FUSE BOX) WHICH SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED, PER THE NISSAN OWNERS FACEBOOK PAGE, AND OTHER BLOGS THE IPDM CAUSES STALLING AND SHUTDOWNS OF ALL FUNCTIONS IN THE 2005-2014 NISSANS, CONSUMERS ARE HAVING TO PAY UPWARDS OF $600 TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THESE DEFECTIVE IPDM BOXES, THERE IS A KNOWN DEFECT WHICH WAS RECALLED YEARS AGO ABOUT A RELAY FOR THAT BOX, I BELIEVE MY XTERRA RELAY WAS FIXED, BUT I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE VDC/ SLIP LIGHT COMING ON AND MY HEADLIGHTS GO ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITES IT HAS TO DO WITH THE WHITE IPDM BOX UNDERNEATH WHERE THE WIRES ARE HARNESSED, THIS NEEDS TO BE ADRESSED IT IS A SAFETY HAZZARD WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN TOWN BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS TOTALLY DISABLED AND WILL CAUSE INJURY/DEATH IVE BEEN READING NISSAN PAGES TO FIND OUT WHY MY LIGHTS ARE GOING ON AND OFF, IVE REPALCED THE CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT POS SENSORS, NISSANS PREVIOUS RECALL FOR A DIODE APPARANTLY THIS DIDNT FIX IT, IT JUST MASKED THE SITUATION, READ UP ON NEWX.ORG ABOUT THIS PROBLEM
TRANSMISSION STARTED JERKING AND RADIATOR BLEW AT THE SAME TIME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN XTERRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER RIVERSIDE NISSAN (8330 INDIANA AVE, RIVERSIDE, CA 92504) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
I WAS REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE OEM RADIATOR DUE TO APPEARANCE OF CROSS-CONTAMINATION BETWEEN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID AND ENGINE COOLANT. THE DISCOVERY WAS MADE EARLY ENOUGH TO AVOID BEING STRANDED. IT IS UNKNOWN WHETHER THE AMOUNT OF CONTAMINATION THAT PRECEDED THE REPLACEMENT HAS CAUSED PERMANENT DAMAGE, BUT THE VEHICLE IS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY AS OF THIS MOMENT. I AM AWARE THAT NISSAN HAS BEEN CHALLENGED ON THE TOPIC OF EXTENDED WARRANTY SUPPORT AND/OR RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE OVER A SPAN OF YEARS, AND THIS REPORT IS FILED TO ADD A DATA POINT.
The transmission was destroyed because a factory default with the radiator leaking antifreeze and transmission fluid into the transmission causing my transmission to self destruct. my safety was not safe since Nissan knew about the defect and I could have ceased into Anything at any time. There was no warning lights it just self destruct. Nissan has done nothing to inspect their failure. It is a well known problem.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V517000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
RADIATOR FAILED, COOLANT MIXED/LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING PROPERLY
FUEL SENDING UNIT IS MALFUNCTIONING. IT IS SHOWING AN INCORRECT LEVEL ON THE FUEL GAUGE. THE CAR WHEN MOVING OR STATIONARY DOES NOT SHOW THE PROPER LEVEL. CANNOT TELL WHEN VEHICLE MAY BE OUT OF FUEL AND STOP RUNNING.
THE GAS GAUGE DOESN'T WORK
I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN XTERRA WITH 36K MILES. MAY 15TH, 2009. I CURRENTLY HAVE 112K MILES ON IT AND HAVE A NOT START A/T CONT FUSE BLOWN ISSUE. MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THERE WAS A CODE STATING A SPEED DIFFERENTIAL BETWEEN THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE TRANSMISSION. SOON AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION, MY MECHANIC VERIFIED RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND I WILL NEED TO REPLACE BOTH MY RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION TO THE APPROX COST OF $5500. NEEDLESS TO SAY, NOT ONLY IS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED, BUT I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET SINCE THE LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST NISSAN CONCERNING THIS ISSUE EXPIRED IN 2013. BUYER BEWARE!!! BE CAREFUL IF YOU PURCHASE A NISSAN XTERRA FROM 2005-2010 UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO FORK OUT MORE MONEY THAN EXPECTED TO PAY FOR A DEFECT THAT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT BUT WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT.
MY TRANSMISSION AND DRIVE SHAFT WENT OUT OF MY VEHICLE TODAY OUT OF NOWHERE. I HAVE A NEW JOB TO GET TO AND NO MONEY TO FIX OR REPLACE THIS VEHICLE. FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. PUT GAS IN AND IT DOES NOT REGISTER. HAVING TO KEEP TRACK OF MILEAGE WHEN GAS IS PUT IN. SAW A RECALL CAMPAIGN 10V075000 AND CONTACTED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED IF UNDER RECALL WOULD BE REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE WOULD INQUIRE WITH SERVICE ADVISORS WAS THEN CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT. TOOK IT IN THIS MORNING AND I WAS ADVISED NO RECALL.? IS THIS A LEGIT RECALL AND IF SO I NEED IT LISTED UNDER MY VIN SO I CAN GET THIS FIXED.
I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN XTERRA AFTER-MARKET IN AUGUST 2019, MILEAGE 144K. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A PROBLEM DURING A TEST-DRIVE, AND IT OTHERWISE APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. THREE DAYS LATER, DURING CITY DRIVING, THE CAR BEGAN TO STRAIN TO ENTER FIRST GEAR FROM A STOPPED POSITION (STOP SIGN, TRAFFIC LIGHT), FIRST A LITTLE, AND THEN SIGNIFICANTLY, AND BEGAN OBSTRUCTING TRAFFIC-FLOW, AND BEGAN OVERHEATING AFTER MULTIPLE STOP/STARTS. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET THE CAR HOME (4 MILES) WITHOUT HAVING TO PULL OVER AND CALL A TOW-TRUCK. A TRIP TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY CONFIRMED NOT JUST A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO A KNOWN DEFECT IN NISSAN SUV-TYPE VEHICLES FROM THIS TIME-PERIOD. THE CAR FROM THE USED DEALER CAME WITH "CAR PROTECTION PLUS" COVERAGE SPECIFICALLY FOR POWER-TRAIN ISSUES, WHO DENIED THAT THEY WOULD COVER THIS PARTICULAR TRANSMISSION PROBLEM FOR THIS REASON. I NOW OWN A VERY EXPENSIVE PAPERWEIGHT, OR PAY A REPAIR BILL OF $3K-$4K TO FIX A TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR THAT IS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE CAR.
THE METAL TUBES THAT SEPARATE ENGINE COOLANT FROM THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CRACK. COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID MIXES AND CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. THE SUBSTANCE IS MILKY, AND CLOUDY LIKE A MILK SHAKE. CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE CITY WE WERE COMING FROM THE STORE.
I HAVE AN NISSAN XTERRA WITH A BAD RADIATOR , IT IS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID, ACCORDING TO THE INTERNET NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS DEFECT FOR OVER 13 YEARS AND HAS NEVER ISSUED A RECALL, I THINK IT NEEDS TO RECALLED DUE TO BAD RADIATORS THAT LEAK TRANSMISSION FLUID AND ANTIFREEZE TOGETHER, NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT BUT HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX OR ADRESS THE ISSUES ALL NISSAN XTERRA OWNERS HAD DUE TO THE DEFECT, INCLUDING REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSIONS AND RADIATORS AND OTHER PARTS RELATED TO THE DEFECT, IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE TRANSMISSION LOCKS UP ON THE ROADWAY AT ANY SPEED LIMIT..
FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY WHEN FULL READ 1/4 AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. NTB10-031 MARCH 18,2010 HAS A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS. THE CAR IS A 2006 BUT HAS LOW MILEAGE AND HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SINCE MARCH 2010. MY SERVICE MANAGER AT NISSAN OF MELBOURNE HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF IT.
RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION AND WE ONLY HAVE 70,000 MILEAGE. PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT NISSAN SERVICE SAID THEY DON'T COVERE THE REPAIR AND OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED. WE SAVED THIS CAT FOR OUR 16 YEARS OLD SON FOR HIS COLLEGE SOON ANG PREPARING FOR DMV. WE SAVE MONEY FOR HIS CAR SO WE DON'T NEED TO WORRY. NOW, WE ARE WORRIED BECAUSE IT WILL COST US$8,000 FOR REPAIR BY REPLACING TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. BESIDES THIS I HAVE TO PAY $190.00 FOR DIAGNOSTIC FEE. WE ARE NOT RICH AND WE PREPARED THIS CAR FOR OUR SON, FOR HIS SAFETY, NOW HIS 16 YEARS OLD THIS JUNE 2019 AND READY TO TAKE THE WHEELS, THIS CAR IS HIS CAR FOR COLLEGE. NOW, I'M HEARTBREAKING BECAUSE IT'S GARAGE KEPT CAR WITH BLANKET ALL THE TIME. 70K MILEAGE ONLY. SECURITY PLUS SAYS 72 MONTHS/75,000 ON ODOMETER. WE REALLY NEED HELP FOR REPAIR.

I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO AAMCO AND AFTER INSPECTION, THEY VERIFIED WATER FROM THE RADIATOR LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND I WILL NEED TO REPLACE BOTH MY RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION TO THE APPROX COST OF $5800. NEEDLESS TO SAY, NOT ONLY IS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED, BUT I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET SINCE THE LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST NISSAN CONCERNING THIS ISSUE EXPIRED IN 2013. BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT PURCHASE A NISSAN XTERRA FROM 2005-2010 UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO FORK OUT MORE MONEY THAN EXPECTED TO PAY FOR A DEFECT THAT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT BUT WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT.

THIS VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED WITH PLASTIC TENSIONER GUIDES TO THE SECONDARY TIMING CHAINS. THE ENGINE IS DESIGNED WITH AN "INTERFERENCE" TIMING CHAIN WHICH MEANS THAT IF THE TIMING CHAIN BREAKS, IT RESULTS IN CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING. ALTHOUGH NISSAN DID NOT DESIGN THE TIMING CHAIN AS A MAINTENANCE ITEM, THE PLASTIC GUIDES WEAR OUT LONG AFTER THE VEHICLE WARRANTY EXPIRES. ALTHOUGH THEY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IN SUBSEQUENT MODEL YEARS, THEY NEVER CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED THE AFFECTED OWNERS OF THE PROBLEM THAT UNLESS THESE GUIDES ARE REPLACED THEY WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN THE SECONDARY TIMING CHAINS WEARING OUT THE GUIDES CAUSING THE SECONDARY CHAINS THEMSELVES TO RUN METAL ON METAL AGAINST THE TENSIONERS. BECAUSE OF THIS CONTINUED WEAR, THE SECONDARY TIMING CHAINS MAY FAIL AT ANY TIME THE ENGINE IS ON WITHOUT WARNING AND DESTROY THE ENGINE. NISSAN ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE PROBLEM BUT FAILED TO NOTIFY OWNERS THAT AS THE VEHICLES APPROACH APPROXIMATELY 100,000 MILES OR MORE, THE SECONDARY TIMING CHAINS MAY FAIL. I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF THE SECONDARY TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS REMOVED FROM MY VEHICLE WHICH SHOW THE PLASTIC GUIDE ON ONE NEARLY COMPLETELY WORN THROUGH, AND THE OTHER ONE BROKEN WITH ONLY HALF OF THE PLASTIC GUIDE STILL IN PLACE ON THE TENSIONER. I ALSO INCLUDED MY REPAIR RECEIPT FOR THE $2,123.40 REPAIR. FINALLY, I INCLUDED THE NISSAN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THEY RECALLED THE V8 ENGINES WITH THIS TYPE OF ISSUE, BUT NOT THE V6 ENGINES (I HAVE NOT CONFIRMED THAT HOWEVER,) NISSAN SHOULD IMMEDIATELY ISSUE A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES AND COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS ALREADY MADE BY CONSUMERS.
I BOUGHT A USED 2006 XTERRA AND I HAD NO IDEA THAT THE TRANSMISSION COOLERS FAIL PREMATURELY. ALL SEEMED OK FOR 2 WEEKS. ONE DAY DRIVING BACK FROM DROPPING MY 2 DAUGHTERS OFF AT THEIR MOTHERS HOUSE, I WAS ON AN INCLINE, IN A BLIND CURVE, AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED PULLING COMPLETELY. WHILE STOPPED I TRIED TO CHECK THE TRANS FLUID AND WAS ALMOST RAN OVER BY A TRACTOR AND TRAILER BECAUSE HE COULDNT SEE THROUGH THE CURVE TO KNOW I WAS BROKE DOWN IN THE ROAD. THEN 10 MINUTES OR SO GOES BY AND A MINIVAN COMES AROUND THE CURVE AND HAD TO LOCK HIS BRAKES UP TO KEEP FROM RUNNING INTO ME. I WAS ALMOST HIT 2 TIMES IN A MATTER OF 20 - 30 MINUTES WAITING FOR HELP TO ARRIVE.

THE DRIVER WAS PREGNANT AND THE UNBORN CHILD WAS FATALLY INJURED DUE TO THE INJURIES. THE DRIVER RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE RADIATOR HAS CRACKED INTERNALLY AND MIXED THE ENGINE COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION REAULTING IN SEVERLY DAMAGES FLUID LEADING TO TRANSMISSION DAMAGE AND SHIFTING DAMAGE.
TAKATA RECALL RADIATOR LEAKED WATER INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND I NOW I NEED COMPLETELY NEW TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH NISSANS AND I AM OUTSIDE OF THE MILEAGE AND WARRANTY. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND THE RPMS STARTED RACING BUT THE CAR WAS NOT ACCELERATING. HAD TO TOW IT IN TO THE MECHANICS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALSO ON AND THE CODE IS FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER.
