I TOOK THIS CAR IN FOR A RECALL I NOTICE THAT THE GEAR STILL IN NOT IN LOCK POSITION. MY BRAKE WENT OUT NO BRAKE LIGHT APPEARED. THEY WERE TO FIX THIS PROBLEMS IT HAS NOT BEEN DONE PROBERLY.
I ALREADY FIXED MY FRONT SUSPENSION THREE TIMES ALREADY. IT SEEMS THAT THIS A FACTORY DEFECT. I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS SO MANY TIMES IN ANY PREVIOUS VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN LEFT STRANDED FOR THIS REASON. I ALSO HAVE ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FOR THIS VEHICLE. IT GETS REALLY HARD MAKING IT DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN OR STEER THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED LEFT INDEPENDENTLY. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND THE STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING ASSIST WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
I AM STILL EXPERIENCING POWER STEERING ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE TROUBLE HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS @ 1866-790-5700. MY CASE NUMBER IS 8-1941918151. THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER. THEY ARE AGREEING WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE ISSUE WITH THE RECALL BUT I DON'T THINK IT EVER FIXED THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS ATTEMPTING TO STEER. IN A PARKING LOT OF A GROCERY STORE. I WAS TRYING TO GET AROUND ANOTHER DRIVER WHO WAS COMING AT ME TOO FAST. ALL THE TIMES THAT THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER FOR STEERING TO RESUME.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON STATEN ISLAND AND STARTED TO MAKE A TURN AND THE STERING STOPPED WORKING. SHE WAS ABLE TO GO STRAIGHT AND PULLED THE CAR TO THE CURB. WE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DEALER. HE SAID HE WOULD DO A DIAGNOSTIC. THE NEXT DAY HE SAID THAT THE KNUCKLE FROM THE STEERING COLUMN TO RACK AND PINION BINDING HAD TO BE REPLACED. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS OF THE CAR AND IT HAD 50,402 MILES ON IT. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED BY MANFREDI OF STATEN ISLAND. THE INVOICE NUMBER IS 69759 AND THE TOTAL COST WAS $595.96. WHEN I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS THEY SAID THAT SINCE THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR.
POWER STEERING IS ALWAYS FAILING AGAIN OVER TIME ONCE I HAD THE RECALL FIXED NUMEROUS OF TIMES... MY STEERING WONT LET ME TURN THE CAR I ALMOST CRASHED GOOD I DECREASED MY SPEED, I HAD TO SHUT HER OFF THAN RESTART IT... I REPLACED INNER AND OUTTER TIE RODS, CONTROL ARMS, AND STRUCT ASSEMLY, PROBLEM STILL EXIST..BRAKES LIGHT ILLUMINATE WHEN EVER THEY WANT. EVEN IF YOUR PARKED WITHOUT ENGAGING IT... I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BECAUSE THE DRIVER CURSED ME OUT AND SAID YOUR BRAKES WORK I SAID YES, BUT WHEN I SHOWED HER WHAT WAS GOING ON THE BRAKES ILLUMINATE WHEN IM NOT ON THE BRAKES THAN WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF,, WEIRD....
WHEN LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY, MY STEERING WHILE JERKED, THE SINGER SOUNDED, THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, AND MY DISPLAY SCREEN SAID POWER STEERING. IT WAS VERY HARD TO STEER. I GOT TURNED AROUND AND DROVE ABOUT 3 MILES TO MY MECHANIC. STILL VERY HARD TO STEER. AFTER TURNING MY CAR OFF AND RESTARTING, IT HAD RESET ITSELF AND BEGAN STEERING FINE. MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME OF A RECALL. I CHECKED IT OUT ONLINE. IT STATED THAT ALL 2005 G6 WERE RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. I CALLED GM. THEY CHECKED MY VIN NUMBER AND SAID MY CAR DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET.
THE STEERING WHEEL TURNS ON IT'S OWN LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE DRIVING OR WHILE IN PARK. THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING FREQUENTLY UPON STARTING UP THE VEHICLE. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE REPEATEDLY IT REGAINS POWER STEERING.
LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB KEEPS BURNING OUT AND BULB HARNESS IS MELTING. HAVE BOUGHT AT LEAST 5 PLUS BULBS AND INSTALLED. IT DID THIS ONCE ON THE LEFT SIDE LOW-BEAM AND NOW IT'S HABITUALLY THE RIGHT SIDE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB AND HARNESS.
'TAKATA RECALL' MY ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IS MESSED UP IN MY CAR
I HAVE BEEN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE LIGHT AND SIGNAL LIGHT ON THIS VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. THE SIGNAL LIGHT MAY OR MAY NOT BLINK TWICE, THEN GOES OFF. THE BRAKE LIGHT MIGHT COME ON FOR AS LONG AS 10 SECONDS WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKE. I CHANGED THE BULBS, TO NO AVAIL. I EVEN PURCHASED A NEW WIRING HARNESS. MY MECHANIC BELIEVES IT IS THE BRAKE LIGHT CONTROL MODULE. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS. I CONTACTED BYFORD BUICK/GMC HERE IN CHICKASHA, OKLA. TO DO THE RECALL. THIS DEALER HAS A HISTORY OF TAKING A CUSTOMERS CAR IN FOR RECALL, THEN TELLING THE CUSTOMER THE RECALL DIDN'T ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM AND RUNNING UP A HUGE BILL. WHEN I DROPPED THE VEHICLE OFF FOR THE BRAKE LAMP MALFUNCTION RECALL, I WAS VERY SPECIFIC THAT THEY ONLY DO THE RECALL, AND NOTHING MORE. THEY CALLED TWO DAYS LATER AND SAID THE CAR WAS READY. WHEN WE PICKED IT UP, THE BRAKE LAMP WAS STILL NOT WORKING. THEY SAID THEY ONLY FIXED THE RECALL, I SAID THAT WAS WHAT THE RECALL NOTICE WAS FOR, WHAT DID YOU REPLACE. THE SERVICE MANAGER TIM SAID HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE REPAIR WAS, HOWEVER THEY COULD CHECK IT OUT FOR $112 AN HOUR. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE ON THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR CAR. THERE IS A RECALL OF 550,000 PONTIAC G6'S FOR A BRAKE LAMP CONTROL MODULE. THE DEALER SAID THEIR RECALL WAS FOR A RETAINER CLIP. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS, BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT WE NEVER KNOW WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE GOING TO WORK. I NEED HELP GETTING THE DEALER TO ACTUALLY DO THE RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 PONTIAC G6. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A RECALL REPAIR, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT WAS ABOUT TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING), BUT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
WHEN I DRIVE MY CAR, A STRONG ODOR OF GASS FILLS UP MY CAR. IT IS SO STRONG THAT IT GIVES ME A KILLER HEADACHE. I HAVE A GAS LEAK COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. THE SHOP I TAKE MY CAR TO HAVE TOLD ME THAT IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY A FUEL PUMP LEAKAGE. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD TO FIX MANY, MANY FUEL PUMP LEAKAGES ON PONTIAC G6S. ALSO, MY TAIL LIGHTS HAVE STOPPED WORKING FOR SOME REASON. THEY BOTH STOPPED WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. THE GAS LEAKAGE SEEMS TO LEAK DURRING AND AFTER I DRIVE IT. THE TAIL LIGHTS... I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF OF WORK WHEN I GOT INTO MY CAR AND THE POLICE OFFICER I WORK WITH TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT WORKING. THAT SAME NIGHT I GOT HOME AND LOCKED MY CAR. I WENT TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF IT AND THEY WERE WORKING FINE. AFTER A FEW DAYS I WAS PULLED OVER AGAIN BECAUSE THEY HAD STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. THEY CURRENTLY DO NOT WORK. THE OFFICER ALSO BROUGHT UP THE STRONG SMELL OF GAS SHE PRESENT.I GOT PULLED OVER ON AN INNERCITY ROAD.
AS I WAS DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL FELT LOOSE. AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP I NOTICED IT BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AFTER STOPPING AT THE STOP SIGN. ALSO I BOUGHT 2 REMOTES ALREADY FOR THE VEHICLE AND NEITHER WOULD WORK OR REGISTER. AND ALSO EVERY TIME I OPEN MY CAR DOOR WITH THE KEY THE ALARM GOES OFF WHICH IS VERY EMBARRASSING AS I HAVE TO SIT THERE UNTIL IT STOPS.
I OWN A 2005 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS, A CLANKING AND GRINDING NOISE IS HEARD WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN. MY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHRIS' BRAKES IN WEATHERFORD TX, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION AND INTERMEDIATE SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED YET.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,134.
TOOK MY CAR TO THE GMC. DEALER TO GET RECALLS FIXED. THEY ALSO NOTICED STRONG GAS ODOR. INSPECTION STATED I HAD A GAS LEAK AT THE TOP OF MY TANK AND IT WAS DANGEROUS BUT NO RECALL ON THIS SO ALMOST 300$LABOR +PARTS... I CALLED GMC AND THEY SAID MY CAR HAD TOO MANY MILES. AND 10 YEARS OLD. I DON'T FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR AN ISSUE THAT IS CLEARLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER. ANY HELP OR ADVICE PLEASE! MY CAR COULD BURST INTO FLAMES. *TR

IN 2012, I TOOK CAR TO WRIGHT GMC IN WEXFORD, PA FOR A RECALL ON THE STEERING. IT HAD NO PROBLEMS AT THIS POINT. THEY PERFORMED RECALL SERVICE AND IT HAS BEEN ALL PROBLEMS EVER SINCE. I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY REPLACED STEERING BOX. I TOOK IT BACK AGAIN IN 2013 BECAUSE IT DEVELOPED A "KNOCKING NOISE" IN THE STEERING ESPECIALLY AFTER A TURN WHEN YOU BRING THE WHEEL BACK. THEY GAVE ME A LIST OF NEEDED ITEMS, REAR BRAKES, ROTORS, FRONT END TIE ROD END SO I ASKED ABOUT THE NOISE AND HE SAID, WE DIDN'T GET THAT FAR YET. THAT IT WAS OVER ONE YEAR AND NOT COVERED BY RECALL. HE SAID THEY START LOOKING FOR A PROBLEM IN BRAKES FIRST AND WORK THEIR WAY TO STEERING. I LAUGHED WITH ANGER AND LEFT. I DID TAKE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC WHO DID REPLACE BRAKES AND ROTORS BUT SAID THEY EASILY WEREN'T THE CAUSE AND WERE NORMAL AND DEFINITELY NOT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED IMMEDIATELY. THE TIE ROD END WAS FINE AND HE COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY MEANT. THEY WERE FRAUDUENTLY ABUSING THEIR SERVICE WHICH HAPPENS OFTEN WITH PA. INSPECTIONS AS WELL. THIS MECHANIC SAID THE STEERING HAD A LOT OF PLAY AND NOISE BUT WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT ALL APART TO FIND AND DIDN'T SEE THE SENSE SINCE THERE ARE RECALLS ON THIS. I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO BE INFORMED OF THE RECALL FROM DORMAN ON THE SHAFT INTO THE U-JOINT THAT STARTED SEPTEMBER 2014 BUT I NEVER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. I HAVE A COUPLE OTHER RECALLS TO GET REPAIRED BUT HAVE BEEN MORE CONCERNED WITH THE STEERING. IT HAS WORKED WELL SO I FIGURED IT WASN'T A SAFETY ISSUE BUT RECENTLY, IT GOT LOUDER AND THE WHEEL DID NOT TURN PROPERLY. IT IS LIKE IT SLIPPED BUT IS WORKING AGAIN. THIS CAR IS GARAGE KEPT WITH UNDER 30K MILES ON IT. I PLAN ON CHANGING DEALER TO CRIVELLI IN MCKEES ROCKS AS I WILL NEVER GO TO WRIGHT AGAIN. PLEASE ADVISE? I FIRST NOTICED THE SMELL OF GASOLINE WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED. IF IT WAS PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF GAS ON THE DRIVEWAY. BECAUSE I SAW ONLINE THAT MANY OTHERS WERE HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM, I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL...BUT THERE WASN'T. I FINALLY HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF A FIRE. WILL I BE REIMBURSED IF THERE IS FINALLY A RECALL DONE ON THIS VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE?
AFTER I HAD AN ALIGNMENT AND TIRE ROTATION, THAT'S WHEN I NOTICE THAT THE STEERING WHEEL FELT DIFFERENT THAN BEFORE. IT FELT LIKE THE WHEELS WOULD GLIDE LEFT AND RIGHT ON STREET & HIGHWAY EVENTHOUGH I HAD NO MOVEMENT ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I FELT THAT THE STEERING WAS NOT STABLE. I TOLD IT BACK TO THE SHOP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT AGAIN. REPAIR SHOP HAD TOLD ME IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ALIGNMENT. THEY TEST DROVE IT AND ALSO FELT THE SAME THING I DID. TOOK IT IN AGAIN SO THEY CAN HAVE MORE TIME TO CHECK IT AND THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE OR PIN POINT THE PROBLEM. THE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT GAVE ME A MESSAGE INDICATING STEERING WHEEL. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I MAKE TURNS AT INTERSECTION,THE STEERING WHEEL ROTATION IS MORE THAN IT IS NECESSARY. I'M TAKING THE CAR BACK MONDAY AGAIN SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 161,000.
2005 PONTIAC G6 GT. CONSUMER STATES THAT BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM REMOVING THE IGNITION KEY FROM THE IGNITION AND TRANSMISSION ISSUE. *TA
AFTER FILLING UP AT THE GAS STATION THERE IS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS OUTSIDE AND INSIDE OF MY CAR UNTIL THE GAS HAS BEEN RAN OUT A LITTLE AND IT IS SO STRONG THAT MY CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE FUEL LINE TO THE FUEL PUMP HAS A CRACK IN IT. .. UPDATED 02/19/15 *BF *TR

THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE WATER WOULD DAMAGE THE CARPET, DASHBOARD, AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. MY POWER STEERING WHEEL KEEP LOCKING UP ON ME. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE FUEL WAS LEAKING NEAR THE FUEL PUMP IN THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN VERIFIED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND APPROACHING HER EXIT, THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED AND COMPLETELY LOCKED ON MY CLIENT'S CAR. THIS IS A DOWNHILL EXIT RAMP OFF THE HIGHWAY. HER CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO STEER HER CAR LEFT TO FOLLOW THE CURVATURE OF THE EXIT RAMP. AS A RESULT THE CAR VEERED OFF THE EXIT RAMP, STRUCK A POLE AND BEGAN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THE CAR CONTINUED TO SPIN DOWN INTO THE EMBANKMENT AND CAME TO REST AFTER LANDING ON ITS SIDE. THE CAR STOPPED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHEELS AS IF IT WAS ABOUT TO ROLL OVER. THE CAR EVENTUALLY FELL DOWN ON ALL FOUR WHEELS AND WAS FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ON THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING BUT PARTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WERE NOT MADE AVAILABLE TO MY CLIENT.
ON SEPTEMBER 2014, I PURCHASED A 2005 PONTIAC G6 WITH ABOUT 182,000 MILES FOR THE PURPOSES OF DRIVING ME TO WORK. I WAS NOT AWARE OR MADE AWARE OF A STRONG FUEL SMELL EMITTING FROM OUTSIDE AND INSIDE THE CAR AT LOW OR HIGH SPEEDS. I DROVE THE CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION A FEW DAYS LATER. I WAS LATER ADVISED THAT A FUEL PUMP CONNECTOR WAS POSSIBLY CRACKED AND LEAKING GASOLINE ABOVE THE GAS TANK. MY MECHANIC ALSO ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE MY CAR ANY FURTHER SINCE IT POSED A FIRE DANGER. IN ADDITION, GM RECALLED THE 2007-2009 PONTIAC G6 VEHICLES FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT NOT FOR THE 2005-6 PONTIAC G6 CARS. MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS TWO RECALLS WHICH MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP WILL FIX IN THE UPCOMING WEEK. MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN MADE TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. RECALL NOTICE, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A MONTH FOR PARTS TO COME TO THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
THIS CAR CURRENTLY HAS THREE RECALLS BY THE MANUFACTURE. IT WAS BY GRACE THAT MY HUSBAND AND SON MADE IT TO THEIR DESTINATION SAFELY. WHEN THEY GOT READY TO LEAVE FROM WHERE THEY WERE GOING, MY HUSBAND COULD NOT PUT THE CAR IN GEAR. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE. IMMEDIATELY THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED AND THE BREAKS WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED HOME. THE NEXT DAY WE TOWED THE CAR TO THE SHOP AND LEARNED THE STRUCTURE OF THE INNER DASH HAD BROKE. THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE BREAKING SYSTEM IS ALL CONNECTED TO THE DASH. WE HAD NO WARNING, MY HUSBAND DRIVES THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY EVERYDAY TO WORK. I AM THANKFUL THAT THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS SITTING. WE WERE TOLD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DASH FOR OVER 2000 DOLLARS. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THIS CAR NOW HAVING FOUR RECALLS. THIS CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE WHO OWNS THIS CAR. IT IS A KNOWN FACT THAT GM HAS ISSUES WITH THEIR STEERING COLUMN AND INTERMEDIATE SHAFTS. WE WERE VERY LUCKY, BUT WHO IS TO SAY THE NEXT OWNER OF THIS PONTIAC WILL BE. THEY SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS AND THEY ACTUALLY ENCOURAGE OWNERS TO CONTINUE DRIVING EVEN AT A RISK OF POWER STEERING LOSS AND ACCIDENT. I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WHEN MY G6 LOST POWER STEERING CAUSING ME TO HIT AN OBSTRUCTION. GM IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY AND THE US GOVERNMENT IS ALLOWING THIS JOKE OF A RECALL. HOLD GM ACCOUNTABLE AND MAKE THEM EITHER FIX THE RECALL IN 5 BUSINESS DAYS OR BUY THESE CARS FROM US AT MARKET VALUE.
