ABOUT A WEEK AGO, I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 50 MPH WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I COULD NOT MOVE IT AT ALL. I MANAGED TO PULL OVER. THE RADIO SCREEN FLASHED AND DINGED "POWER STEERING" I CALLED MY HUSBAND WHO CAME AND SAW THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING RESERVOIR. TURNS OUT ITS ELECTRIC. AFTER TURNING THE CAR ON, IT SEEMED TO BE BACK TO NORMAL. THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES SINCE THEN, NOW MY CAR IS STUCK PERMANENTLY. AS SOON AS I TURN IT ON, IT SAYS "POWER STEERING" AND WILL NOT RESOLVE NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I TURN IT ON AND OFF. HORRIBLE CAR!! *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BRAKE LIGHTS CONSTANTLY STAYING ON AND RECALL *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE RECALL PERFORMED DUE TO FINDING INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET. WHEN THE CONSUMER AND HIS GRANDSON ARRIVE AT THE DEALER, THEY WERE INFORMED GM WOULD NOT COVER THE RECALL. *JB
THE PONTIAC G6 2006 IS HAVING STEERING PROBLEMS LIKE THE OTHER PONTIAC G MODELS. THE ELECTRONIC STEERING IN THE VEHICLE FAILS AND THE STEERING BECOMES VERY HARD AND IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. IT WOULD BE HARD FOR MY WIFE TO CONTROL IT, SHE IS A SMALL WOMAN. IT TAKES A LOT STRENGTH ON MY PART TO STEER IT. I WOULD LIKE TO LET OTHER PONTIAC G6 OWNER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THEY HAVE AN ACCIDENT. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING TORQUE SENSOR FAILED AND AS A RESULT, THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO FEEL LOOSE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO PULL. THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE CENTER BUT THE MECHANIC DID NOT KNOW THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS ELECTRICAL AND THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY DID NOT CONSIDER THE FAILURE A SAFETY PROBLEM. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 75,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING A TURN, THE CONTACT HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE. THE NOISE WAS HEARD INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
THE POWER STEERING IS FAILING AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE TURNING CORNERS. THERE IS A LOUD THUMP THAT COMES FROM SOMEWHERE AROUND THE STEERING COLUMN OR JUST UNDER THE DASH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, THE POWER STEERING FAILS, AND THE DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEM INDICATION LIGHTS AND POWER STEERING FAILURE MESSAGE APPEAR. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS MAKING A TURN SO IT BECOMES NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FINISH MAKING THE TURN BECAUSE IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. IF YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF AND START IT BACK UP, THE POWER STEERING WILL WORK AGAIN. THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED OCCURRING EARLY IN 2011 AND OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 4 TIMES DURING THE SPRING AND SUMMER. SINCE THE PROBLEM WOULD CLEAR IF THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF, I IGNORED THE ISSUE FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. NEAR THE END OF OCTOBER 2011, THE PROBLEM BEGAN HAPPENING ALMOST CONTINUALLY. IF YOU TURNED THE CAR OFF TO CLEAR THE ISSUE, IT WOULD FAIL AT THE VERY NEXT TURN. I BEGAN LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO GM. AFTER CONTACTING THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND GM, I FOUND OUT THAT GM WAS OFFERING "SPECIAL COVERAGE" FOR THIS ISSUE BUT UNFORTUNATELY MY CAR WAS "OUTSIDE THE PARAMETERS OF THE SPECIAL COVERAGE" BECAUSE THE COVERAGE ONLY COVERED 10 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. MY CAR WAS AT 122,000 MILES. I QUESTIONED WHY A MAJOR SYSTEM OF THE CAR WAS ONLY COVERED TO 100,000 MILES AND THEY IMPLIED THAT I HAD DRIVEN MY CAR IN SUCH A WAY THAT I HAD CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. THEY FINALLY AGREED THAT MY ISSUE "SOUNDED SIMILAR TO OTHER INCIDENTS THAT HAD BEEN REPORTED" AND ASKED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THEY INSISTED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT FINALLY AGREED TO COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR AS AN EXCEPTION TO THE SPECIAL COVERAGE THEY HAD OFFERED OTHER DRIVERS. I HAD TO FIGHT GM ALL THE WAY ON THIS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT APPLIED EXTREME FORCE IN ORDER TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL. THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND THE POWER STEERING WAS RESET TO NORMAL WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE STEERING FAILURE HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 120,000 MILES, BUT THE CONTACTS VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS OVER THE MILEAGE. THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED HAVING THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND POSSIBLY REPAIRED AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, WHEN SHE MADE A TURN AND NOISE EMITTED FROM THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE; HOWEVER, RECENTLY, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE FAILURE WAS CONSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY STATED THE POWER STEERING COLUMN WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH WHEN THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED YET THE FAILURE RECURRED SHORTLY THEREAFTER. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V036000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS) AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS ADVISED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS WARNED BY THE POLICE FOR DRIVING WITH THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,932. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVING MY POWER STEERING AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING GOES OUT ALL THE TIME. ALSO MY PASSENGER AIR BAG SAYS SERVICE AIR BAG ALL THE TIME. MY CAR HAS ALSO JUST SHUT DOWN ON ME ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS ON THE HIGHWAY ETC. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6/V6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS ANOTHER DRIVER ADVISED HER THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON AND SHE WAS NOT DEPRESSING THE BRAKES. WHEN SHE DID APPLY THE BRAKES THEY WOULD NOT LIGHT UP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS AND TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,889.
MY POWER STEERING SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING - ELECTRICAL ON MY CAR COMES AND GOES SEVERAL TIMES DAILY PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG LIGHTS AS WELL AS ALL DASHBOARD SHUTS OFF FREQUENT ENGINE TROUBLE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT AN INVESTMENT FAILURE I HAVE PUT SO MUCH MONEY AND TIME INTO THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE NOT HAD A REAL SOLUTION TO ALL THE PROBLEMS I'VE HAD SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED BECAUSE THE STEERING COLUMN WAS SHAKING. THE DEALER DID NOT STATE WHAT WAS CAUSING THE STEERING COLUMN TO SHAKE, BUT THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE COULD FEEL A SHIMMY WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING SHAFT WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER PREVIOUSLY ON 6/30/2008. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE PART WAS NO LONGER COVERED BY THE WARRANTY AND NOT UNDER RECALL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6 SE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED WITH THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. THE CONTACT HAD TO UTILIZE EXTREME BODILY FORCE IN ORDER TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE POWER STEERING MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
RAW FUEL SMELL COMING FROM 2006 PONTIAC G6 AND LOSE OF POWER. I HAVE READ IN SOME ONLINE FORUMS AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH OTHERS G6'S ALSO. MOST HAVE STATED THAT THIS COULD BE A POSSIBLE CRACK IN FUEL LINE. *TR

POWER STEERING FAILURE AFTER NOT DRIVING CAR MULTIPLE DAYS. TURNING OFF THE CAR & TURNING BACK ON SOMETIMES WOULD GET POWER STEERING WORKING AGAIN. HAS FAILED THREE TIMES.
AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. LIGHTS OF THE CAR FLICKERED AND THEN THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED UP. I COULD BARELY MOVE THE WHEEL EVEN AFTER PULLING WITH MY WHOLE BODY. I AM AN ABLE BODIED 25 YEAR OLD MALE AND FOUND IT RIDICULOUS AND DANGEROUS THAT I COULD BARELY TURN THE CAR GOING 55 MPH WHILE USING ALL MY STRENGTH. I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AFTER ALMOST EXHAUSTION. I THEN TURNED THE CAR OFF. RESTARTED IT AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. PER A "SPECIAL POLICY #10183" THEY CHANGED A FEW SENSORS AND THAT WAS IT. THEN ON 1/20/12 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE AT 65 MPH. LUCKILY SHE WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. I HAD TO GO PICK HER UP AND THEN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THE CAR BACK WITH ITS MALFUNCTIONING STEERING. AGAIN SAME PROBLEM, STEERING WHEEL BECOMES ALMOST IMMOVABLE. THESE ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED. GM HAS BUILT A VERY FAULTY PRODUCT THAT WILL KILL SOMEONE...ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME. THIS STEERING WHEEL IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. *TR

DRIVING DOWN HWY 4 IN SENATOBIA MS. STEERING BEGAN TO MORE BY ITSELF THEN BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER COMPLETELY. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED TODAY SO IT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED, BUT I HAVE TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAYS IT WILL COST 700 TO FIX. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SHOULDER BELT WEBBING FAILED TO RETRACT WHEN ENGAGED BY THE OCCUPANT. THERE WERE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE SHOULDER BELT WEBBING WOULD RETRACT PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. UPDATED 09/21/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE PASSENGER REAR SEAT BELTS LOCKED IN THE FIRED POSITION. IT DID NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING OR SITTING STILL. IT LOCKED AND WOULDN'T RELEASE. IT HAD TO BE PULLED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET ENOUGH SLACK TO RELEASE IT. UPDATED 10/03/11
APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO, MY CAR BEGAN TO SHOW ME A "POWER STEERING" ERROR. IT WOULD POP UP, AND I WOULD LOSE MY POWER STEERING. THIS WOULD GO AWAY AFTER TURNING OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR. AS OF TWO DAYS AGO, MARCH 8TH 2011, THE ERROR IS ON MY DASH AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 PONTIAC G6 AND HAVE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION AND SHIFTING (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). JUST RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING AND A WEIRD SENSOR CAME UP READING REDUCED ENGINE SPEED AND THANK GOODNESS THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME BECAUSE MY CAR SHOT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO AROUND 8 MPH. AFTER I REACHED A SEMI-SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND RESTARTING TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP, IT WOULDN'T EVEN TURN OVER. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED BECAUSE I HAVE 80,000 MILES ON MY FAIRLY NEW CAR AND I SHOULD NOT BE EXPERIENCING THIS SORT OF TROUBLE. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS ON A BACK ROAD AND NO ONE WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME BECAUSE IN ADDITION TO SOMETHING GOING ON INTERNALLY I WOULD HAVE BEEN REARENDED FOR SURE. AFTER VISITING YOUR SITE I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS VERY SIMILAR TO MY STORY AND FEEL AS IF THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. PLEASE TAKE THIS COMPLAINT AND REALIZE I AM A VALUED CUSTOMER AND IF THIS NEXT PROBLEM COSTS ME A BUNCH I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM VEHICLE AS LONG AS I DRIVE. *TR
I OWN A 2006 PONTIAC G6 AND RECENTLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY POWER STEERING. I WAS TURNING RIGHT INTO A PARKING LOT AND I HEARD A NOISE FROM MY CAR AND MY STEERING WHEEL JERKED BACK THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I OWN A PONITAC G6 THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT IS INDICATED IN THE SERVICE BULLETIN # SB-10183 WHEN CONTACTING GM THEY SAID THEY WILL ONLY COVER CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS UNLESS I WANT TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM AND PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY POCKET, IF IT IS THE SAME THEN I WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO TALK TO GM TO SEE IF THE WILL FIX IT FREE OF CHARGE. I HAVE A 2006 PONTIAC G6 AND LOVED IT TIL I STARTED HAVING POWER STEERING ISSUES. COME TO FIND OUT IT HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMP, WHICH WAS NOT DISCLOSED AT TIME OF PURCHASE. THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THE CAR IS FAILING CAUSING THE LOSS OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP. ITS BAD ENOUGH I HAVE TO PAY THE CAR EVERY MONTH BUT NOW TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS ADDITIONAL REPLACEMENT AS THE WARRANTY IS UP, IS JUST NOT FEASIBLE. LAST YEAR MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 STARTED MAKING THIS POPPING SOUND EVERYTIME I TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. THEY STATED THAT IT WAS MY INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT. THEY HAD ALSO STATED THAT THIS WAS A FACTORY DEFECT. HOWEVER I RAN INTO THE PROBLEM OF MY WARRANTY COMPANY REFUSING TO REPLACE UNTIL IT FAILED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. LAST FRIDAY I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVE WAY AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHILE STILL IN DRIVE AND MOVING AND POWER STEERING FLASHED ACROSS MY RADIO SCREEN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY THEY HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT AND TORQUE SENSOR HAD FAILED. I WOULD DEFINITELY CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. HAD I BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. WHEN I PICKED MY CAR UP I NOTICED THE STEERING STILL WAS NOT RIGHT. BRAKE LIGHTS ARE WORKING IN REVERSE TO THE REQUIRED OPERATION. APPLY FOOT PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND TAIL LIGHT GO OUT. REMOVE FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE. THIS IS CAUSING CONSTANT NEAR REAR END COLLISIONS AND IMMEDIATE ROAD RAGE FROM OTHER DRIVERS. *TR

I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR AND DON'T FEEL THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IS PROPER. I THINK IT SHOULD BE A FULL ON RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING. OBVIOUSLY, GM KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WHICH IS THE REASON FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT TO NOT HAVE IT AS A FULL WARRANTY IS LUDICROUS. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AS I HAVE NO CELL PHONE AND HAVE TO DRIVE ALMOST ENTIRELY ON HIGHWAYS AT 65MPH TO AND FROM WORK (IN THE DARK MOSTLY). I OWN A 2006 PONTIAC G6 GT AND HAVE HAD THE "POWER STEERING" LIGHT COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND MY WHEEL LOCKS UP COMPLETELY AND I CANNOT TURN IT. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED THEN THE LIGHT ONLY CAME ON. SO I FINISHED MY SHIFT AT WORK AND THEN DROVE TO AUTO ZONE TO BUY FLUID. ON MY WAY THERE, THE WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, UNABLE TO TURN OFF OF IT. FINALLY I PUT MY CAR IN NEUTRAL, TURNED IT OFF, THEN TURNED IT BACK ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO BUY FLUID BUT THE POWER STEER IS ELECTRIC IN G6'S. I WAS TOLD THAT MY ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND I'M NO LONGER UNDER THE WARRANTY BY MY DEALERSHIP. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING DIFFERENT SITES ONLINE AND MANY, MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR G6'S.
