DURING SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS, WHEN I APPLY BRAKES, EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS LIKE 5MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL INTERFERES WITH BRAKES AND CAR DOES NOT ALLOWS ME TO APPLY BRAKE. I FEEL THIS STRONG VIBRATION IN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND CAN HEAR SOME MECHANICAL NOISE. ITS LIFE THREATENING IN WINTERS TO DRIVE THIS CAR WITH FAMILY. PHYSICALLY BY BRAKES AND ROTORS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. SEEMS LIKE PROBLEM WITH TRACTION CONTROL OR ABS.
WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A NOISE SIMILAR TO THAT OF WHICH YOU HEAR WHEN THE SEAT BELT ISN'T ENGAGED THEN THE DISPLAY ON THE RADIO READS "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" THEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT IT READS "ENGINE POWER DISABLED" AND THEN THE CAR SHUTS ITSELF DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SAFETY WHERE I THEN TURNED THE IGNITION TO OFF. TRIED TO START IT AGAIN BUT THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I WAITED 10 MINUTES AND THEN WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN BUT IT DIDN'T START NORMAL IT KIND OF SPUTTERED AND THEN STARTED. I WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. A SECOND OCCURRENCE HAPPENED A DIFFERENT DAY WHEN I WAS PARKED. I STARTED THE CAR AND IT IMMEDIATELY MADE THE ABOVE MENTIONED NOISE, GAVE ME THE SAME 2 MESSAGES AND THEN SHUT ITSELF DOWN. I THEN COULD START IT AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE BY A DEALER AND HAVE NOT YET HAD THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO HAPPEN WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AT THE TIME I COULD NOT GET IT TO GO OFF BECAUSE THERE WAS A CURVE COMING UP BEFORE I KNEW IT MY CAR JUST WOULD NOT STOP AND ENDED UP CRASHING INTO THE BACK OF A PICKUP. I WASN'T ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO START BRAKING UNTIL ABOUT 5 SECONDS BEFORE HITTING THE OTHER VEHICLE. MY AIRBAG ALSO DIDN'T DEPLOY. THIS HAPPEN 3 WEEKS AGO NOW I AM PHYSICAL THERAPY BECAUSE OF THE INJURIES SUSTAINED IN ACCIDENT. THE RECALL CAME IN THE MAIL ABOUT A WEEK AFTER ACCIDENT. GO FIGURE PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT I HAD MY CAR AT A SHOP GETTING OIL CHANGE & THEY HAD MENTIONED THERE WAS A VOLTAGE ISSUE BUT SHOULD BE OK. *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING , BUT THEY GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS INTERMITTENTLY ALSO. THAT IS, THE CRUISE CANNOT BE SET AT TIMES AND WHEN IT IS SET, IT WILL JUST GO OUT FOR NO REASON AND CAN'T BE RESET. *JS
WE WERE DRIVING TO DINNER WITH OUR NEIGHBORS FOLLOWING BEHIND US. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THEM STATING THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THEN ONCE I WOULD GO TO STOP THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF UNTIL I RELEASED THE BRAKE. I WENT TO USE MY CRUISE CONTROL AND IT WOULDN'T WORK. THEN ONCE WE WERE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT I HAD TROUBLE GETTING THE CAR OUT OF PARK, I HAD TO PRESS EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BRAKE TO GET IT TO RELEASE. *TR
MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN MY FOOT IS NOWHERE NEAR THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WILL BE ON THE GAS AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL EITHER BE FLASHING OR JUST STAYING ON. OR VICE VERSA, MY FOOT WILL BE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND MY BRAKE LIGHTS WONT BE ON. IT IS HARD TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL IN WHEN I GO TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. FIRST NOTICED THAT I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK. MY CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT ENGAGE OR WOULD SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN WHILE USING. REALIZED MY BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON WHILE DRIVING AND PEDAL WAS NOT DEPRESSED. ONCE I GOT THE LIGHTS TO TURN OFF WOULD NOT LIGHT UP WHEN PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. FIRST NOTICED THIS LAST SUMMER BUT WAS NOT CONSISTENT. STARTED TO ACT UP AGAIN IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 71,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN CAR IS IN PARK, WITHOUT BRAKE BEING DEPRESSED. WHEN BRAKE IS ACTUALLY BEING DEPRESSED, BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT ILLUMINATED. CRUISE CONTROL WORKS INTERMITTENTLY, SOMETIMES GOING OFF WHILE DRIVING AFTER BEING SET. DIFFICULT TO SWITCH GEARS OUT OF PARK AT TIMES. HAVE TAKEN IT TO MECHANIC TWICE. FIRST TIME HAD A SENSOR REPLACED. SECOND TIME HAD THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH REPLACED. PROBLEMS STILL NOT RESOLVED. AFTER SEEING A PREVIOUS RECALL IN 2009 FOR THIS SAME ISSUE I CHECKED INTO IT AND MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL. DRIVING WITH CHILDREN IN MY CAR, IT IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR ME, ESPECIALLY WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE. THERE ARE MANY TIMES WHEN PEOPLE ALMOST REAR END US BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I HOPE THAT ANOTHER RECALL IS ISSUED SOON TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE PEOPLE GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED AS A RESULT. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION! *TR
SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 (IN 2006) IT HAS BEEN FAILING TO START FROM TIME TO TIME. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL (SHORTAGE) PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THE CAR NOT TO START AND KILLS THE BATTERY. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACED THE FOUR(4) TIMES. THE CAR HAS TOTALLY DIED ON ME FIVE (5) DIFFERENT TIMES AND HAD TO BE TOWED. THE FIRST AND SECOND TIMES IT DIED, IT WAS BETWEEN 25-40K MILES ; THEREFORE, STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE THIRD TIME IT WAS A LITTLE BEYOND 60K AND THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT HONOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, SO I PAID OUT OF POCKET. THE FOURTH I REPLACED THE BATTERY AGAIN. THE FIFTH AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS THE BATTERY WAS RECHARGED. LOST STEERING POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE DIC READOUT "CHECK GAS CAP," I WOULD TIGHTEN THE HAD CAP, BUT STILL THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE REPLACED THE HAD CAP THE TIMES. LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. CAR WILL NOT GO ABOVE 40 MPH. TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK IS MISSING. *TR
