WITHOUT WARNING STEERING WHEEL STARTS TO SHAKE AND THEN IT LOSE POWER STEERING, YOU LOSE CONTROL AND HAVE TO PUT EFFORT INTO STEERING IT SO YOU DON'T CRASH. WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE CAME ACROSS THE MESSAGE BOARD AND THE STEERING BECAME HARD TO MANEUVER. I PULLED INTO A AUTO PARTS PARKING LOT AND TURNED OFF THE CAR WHEN I TURN THE CAR BACK ON THE POWER STEERING WAS RESTORED. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THE FIRST OCCURRENCE I HAVE CALLED PONTIAC AND ASKED ABOUT RECALL INFORMATION ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY OPEN RECALLS.I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES AND TURNS BY ITSELF WHILE THE CAR IS IDLING. *TR

RPM REVS UP AT 2 GOING 60 MPH..30 MPH I HAVE TO PUSH ON THE GAS TO GET THE RPM UP ... FUEL PUMP. I SEE THEIR ARE RECALLS FOR FUEL PUMPS; AGAIN NOT MINE..WHY IS GM ALOUD TO CHERRY PICK WHAT CARS GET RECALLED? I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND WENT TO SWITCH LANES TO THE LEFT AND THE CAR MADE A DINGING NOISE AND IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO MAKE THE TURN AS I NORMALLY COULD. I LOOKED AT THE DISPLAY AND THE POWER STEERING WAS ON THE SCREEN . WHEN I FINALLY MADE IT TO MY DESTINATION, AND CUT THE CAR OFF UPON RESTARTING IT THE POWER STEERING CAME BACK. UPON RETURNING HOME THAT NIGHT POWER STEERING WAS WORKING FINE AND WHEN I WENT TO TURN FROM OFF THE FREEWAY TO CITY STREETS, I ALMOST HIT A CAR IN THE FAR LEFT LANE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC BECAUSE ONCE AGAIN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS THE POWER STEERING COULD BE RESET BY RESTARTING THE CAR AND THEN FINALLY IT WENT OUT COMPLETELY. WHAT I DO NOTICE IS THAT IF MY WHEEL IS TURNED AT 180 DEGREES IT HAS NO SHAKE AND I CAN BACK UP AND NEVER LOSE POWER STEERING BUT AS SOON AS I TURN IT LEFT OR RIGHT IT LOCKS UP AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AGAIN. I WAS TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN AS WELL AS PAY FOR PROGRAMMING TO GET MY KEY TO WORK TO THE NEW COLUMN. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AS GM HAS RECALLED MY YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BUT MY VIN NUMBER ISN'T LISTED IN THE RECALL. I HOPE THIS IS FIXED SOON AS I HAVE DONE INVESTIGATION AND TO FIX THIS OUT OF POCKET IT WILL COST AROUND $750.00. *TR
STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE FROM RIGHT REAR QUARTER OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE CONSISTENT WITH MANY REPORTS ONLINE OF FAILED FUEL PUMP/FILTER MODULE HOSE FITTINGS/CONNECTIONS MOUNTED INTO THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. SUSPICION IS SUPPORTED BY 10% DECLINE IN FUEL ECONOMY.

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED IN 2014 UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHILE DRIVING 2 CHIMES SOUNDED AND POWER STEERING SUDDENLY WENT OUT. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME, ABOUT 15 MILES, WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND ONCE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON POWER STEERING RESUMED. IT SEEMS THE 2006 AND 2008 MODELS OF THIS VEHICLE WERE RECALLED FOR SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BUT NOT THE 2007 WHICH I OWN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST GOES OUT AT RANDOM TIMES. HAVE NEARLY CRASHED SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS! OTHER 2007 PONTIAC G6'S ARE COVERED UNDER RECALL 14772, BUT THIS CAR IS NOT. THE EXACT THING DESCRIBED IN THIS RECALL IS OCURRING WITH THIS CAR!
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE 101 HWY IN CALIFORNIA JUST SOUTH OF ARROYO GRANDE AND FELT STEERING GET A LITTLE STIFF WHEN GOING AROUND A SLOW SEMI. SLOWED TO UNDER 30MPH TO TURN OFF HWY TO JOB SITE AND IT WAS LIKE TRYING TO STEER A WHEELBARROW WITH 600LBS OF DIRT ON IT. GET THE PICTURE? IF IT WAS MY WIFE SHE MIGHT HAVE CRASHED. I BECAME AWARE OF THE RECALL JUST 3 WEEKS AFTER AND RECENTLY FOUND OUT MY ASSEMBLY DATE ISN'T INCLUDED. IT WAS ASSEMBLED 12/06 ACCORDING TO DOOR JAM STICKER. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? *TR

WAS GOING THROUGH A DRIVE THRU AND WAS TURNING LEFT AND THE STERRING WENT OUT...COULD NOT STEER THE VEH.THE 2005 2006 2008 & 2009 WAS RECALLED FOR THE SAME THING..I DO NOT UNERDATAND WHY THE 2007 WASN'T RECALLED.. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH WHEN I HEARD THE RINGING SOUND ON MY DASHBOARD INDICATING POWER STEERING. THE STEERING WAS BLOCKED. BECAUSE IT WAS ON A STRAIGHT ROAD I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER BY THE ROAD SIDE. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED THE CAR. I AM HAVING TO DO THIS EVERYDAY WHEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT TURNS ON. PROBLEMS: POWER STEERING RANDOMLY STOPS WORKING, STEERING WHEEL WILL SHAKE. WHEN FIRST STARTING CAR RADIO SCREEN READS "POWER STEERING". NO POWER STEERING, OFTEN TURNING CAR OFF THEN BACK ON TEMPORARILY FIXES ISSUE, BUT IT SOON RETURNS. YESTERDAY MORNING I WAS DRIVING THE 2007 PONTIAC G6 AND THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING AND CAUSED TO GO OFF THE ROAD. AFTER GETTING IT TOED HOME POWER STEERING IS COMPLETELY GONE. I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED GM (YESTERDAY) AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS DISPLAYING THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS OF A FAULTING STEERING COLUMN FROM SIMILAR VEHICLES RECALLED ( 2005 , 6 8 AND 9 PONTIAC G6S) IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT 2007 G6 STEERING COLUMNS PROBLEMS BUT THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE BEEN FEELING VERY BAD SHAKING IN STEERING WHEEL LATELY. TOOK TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE AND THERE IS NOW A LITTLE LESS SHAKING BUT STILL SHAKES. WHEEL IS ACTUALLY FEELING REALLY LOSE WHICH TO MY PAST EXPERIENCE IS WHEN THE STEERING ISSUE STARTS BECAUSE ITS LIKE IT GETS REALLY LOOSE BEFORE IT LOCKS UP ON YOU. WELL ANYWAY YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I CHECKED ONLINE REGARDING WHAT CAN BE WRONG SEEN A RECALL BUT CALLED GM, THE DEALER AND THE DORMAN MFR AND ALL 3 SAID MY CAR WAS NOT ONE INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. HOWEVER I LIKE OTHERS HAVE HEARD A NOISE IN MY CAR SINCE I GOT IT AT ABOUT 92000 MILES ON IT. ALTHOUGH NO INCIDENT, I AM VERY NERVOUS SINCE I DO DRIVE A LOT AND FEEL AS THOUGH SOMETHING IS WRONG AND CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. GM CALLED THE DEALER SO THAT I CAN GET A DIAGNOSIS AND SINCE I CAN'T DROP IT OFF BECAUSE I HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO LEAVE AND COME BACK WHEN THEY ARE DONE THEY SAID THEY CAN'T GET ME IN TO DIAGNOSE IT UNTIL DEC 31 WHICH FOR WHAT IS FEELING WRONG WITH THE CAR IS NOT VERY GOOD SINCE IT IS ONLY DEC 8, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN BETWEEN NOW AND DEC 31. HOPEFULLY WITH ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES THEY WILL GET THEIR CRAP TOGETHER. I FEEL AS THOUGH AFTER SO MANY RECALLS AND ISSUES WITH SPECIFIC MODELS THERE SHOULD JUST BE COMPENSATION TO ASSIST WITH GETTING ANOTHER CAR INSTEAD OF KEEP THROWING US OUT THERE AND RISKING LIVES. THIS TO ME IS TOO MANY SAFETY ISSUES. I JUST GOT DONE HAVING 2 RECALLS DONE ON MY CAR A FEW MONTHS AGO WHICH TOOK FOREVER TO FINALLY BE RECALLED. THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW-BEAM LIGHT BULB BURNED OUT. REPLACED AND IT BURNED OUT AGAIN WITHIN 2 WEEKS. REPLACED AGAIN AND SAW THAT THE SOCKET WIRES AND PART OF THE SOCKET WHERE THE BULB MEETS THE SOCKET HAD MELTED. THIS IS NOT A STANDARD GM REPLACEMENT PART. I PURCHASES AN AFTERMARKET WIRE HARNES/SOCKET FOR THE LOW-BEAM. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER, IT DID THE SAME THING. MY LOCAL AUTHORIZED GM DEALER REPLACED THE WIRE HARNESS FOR THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (NOT UNDER WARRANTY) BUT SAID I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY TO FIX THE LOW-BEAM. THAT PART IS OVER $200 SO I TRIED ANOTHER AFTERMARKET WIRE HARNESS/SOCKET THAT HAD HEAVIER GAUGE WIRE. IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS AND THE BULB HAS BURNED OUT AGAIN. KEEP IN MIND EACH TIME I HAVE PURCHASED THE CORRECT LIGHT BULBS. I HAVE NOW BEEN PULLED OVER BY POLICE 3 TIMES SINCE THIS ISSUE BEGAN. EACH TIME I WAS GIVEN A WARNING BUT ALSO EACH TIME I HAD REPAIRED THE PROBLEM SHORTLY AFTER. I HAVE NOW SPENT MORE THAN $250 JUST BECAUSE THE LOW-BEAM ISSUE. THIS IS A CRITICAL SAFETY COMPONENT THAT SHOULD BE RESOLVED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE CAUSE BEHIND THE MELTED WIRE AND SOCKET COULD CAUSE A FIRE. THIS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM HAS COST ME MONEY, TIME AND STRESS. I WISH TO NOT OWN THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE. HOWEVER, I CAN'T HAVE A CLEAR CONSCIENCE ABOUT SELLING THIS VEHICLE TO SOMEONE AND I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THE PONTIAC G6 TO ANYONE SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THIS CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE.

(2007 PONTIAC G6 STEERING RECALL 14E044000) FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THIS RECALL WAS ONLY FOR A REPLACEMENT PART THAT WAS BOUGHT FOR THIS ISSUE INVOLVING THE U-JOINTS AND THE STEERING? WE ARE CURRENTLY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH OUR PONTIAC G6 AND THE STEERING THAT I FEEL IS VERY SAFE. THE CAR WE HAVE IS ONLY A 2007 WITH 56,000 MILES ON IT AND WE CAN BARELY CONTROL THE STEERING.
