THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. PONTIAC G6 2007 90,000 MILES FUEL SYSTEM LEAK STARTED SMELLING FUEL FUMES , I LIFTED THE CAR AND NOTICED A LEAK COMING FROM TOP OF THE FUEL TANK AND WAS LEAKING DOWN AFT SIDE OF FUEL TANK AND ONTO EXHAUST PIPE; NOW THAT HAS ME CONCERNED. I'VE READ PLENTY OF OTHER INSTANCES WITH CUSTOMERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. IS THERE ANY SOLUTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER SUCH AS A RECALL OR SPECIAL FIX? *TR
THE STEERING IS BAD ON EVERY ONE OF THIS CARS, BECAUSE OF THE RACK & PINION. RACK & PINION ,THEY GO OUT AROUND 50.000 MILES AND CAN CAUSE A CRASH, THE REAR OF A PONTIAC IS NOT UP TO ANY CODE, THE EXHAUST IS UNDER THE FUEL TANK WITH A METAL SHEETING BETWEEN THEM IF YOU GET REAR ENDED THEY WILL BE A FIRE OR A EXPLOSION. BECAUSE THEY ARE RIGHT AT THE PLASTIC BUMPER. AND GM IS KNOWS THE RISK BUT JUST SWEPT UNDER THE TABLE. PONTIAC IS BAD FOR GAS LEAKS BUT GM JUST FAILS TO FIX THE PROBLEM JUST LIKE RACK AND PINION. *TR

MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF AT RANDOM POINTS WHILE DRIVING. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY DAY AND THERE IS NO COMMON THING THAT CAUSES IT TO TURN OFF AND ON. LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT IS MALFUNCTIONING AND WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY IF THERE WERE AN ACCIDENT. *TR

THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 (STEERING). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR TORQUE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
MY SON WAS DRIVING AT 5 PM IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. HE HAD BEEN CUT OFF BY A DRIVER WHO THEN SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES. (OUT OF TOWN DRIVER) WHEN THE CAR AHEAD OF HIM STOPPED MY SON WAS DRIVING AT APPROX 30 MILES PER HOUR. MY SON SLAMMED ON HIS BRAKES WITH TWO CAR LENGTHS AHEAD OF HIM AND THE G6 REAR ENDED THE CAR AHEAD OF HIM. WHEN I WAS CONTACTED MY SON REPORTED THE CAR PANIC BRAKE ASSIST FEATURE DID NOT SEEM TO WORK. HE INDICATED THE CAR WAS NOT STOPPING DESPITE HIS HARD BRAKING. WE HAVE HAD NEW BRAKES INSTALLED ON THIS CAR IN FEBRUARY 2014. MY CONCERN: A GM RECALL 13036 WAS ISSUED AND PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE.TO CORRECT THIS PANIC ASSIST BRAKING FEATURES. THE ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON 9/3/14 AND I RECEIVED A LETTER ON 9/5/14 INDICATING PARTS TO CORRECT THIS WERE AVAILABLE. MY SON HAS NEVER HAD A TRAFFIC CITATION OR WARNING AND IS NOW CONSIDERED RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCIDENT. MOST LIKELY THE CAR HAS BEEN TOTALED. *TR

A FEW MONTHS AGO I NOTICED A STRONG GAS ODOR IN AND AROUND MY CAR. FINALLY AFTER TAKING IT IN, THE CAR SHOP SAID I HAD A GAS LEAK AND THAT I NEEDED A NEW FUEL PUMP HIGH COST ME ALMOST $900. THERE ARE DAYS WHEN I STILL SMELL A FAINT GAS ODOR WHILE I'M DRIVING. I'M CONCERNED BECAUSE FOR MY JOB I DO A LOT OF TRAVELING IN MY CAR AND I AM PREGNANT AND ALSO AT TIMES I HAVE MY TODDLER WITH ME FOR ERRANDS. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP BY GM! TWO HOURS AFTER DRIVING IT OFF THE DEALERSHIP LOT, IT STARTED CLUNKING /SNAPPING IN THE FRONT END WHEN I TURN, GO OVER A SLIGHT BUMP, BRAKE AND ACCELERATE. NO DOUBT THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND SOON! *TR
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION WITH A STOP SIGN, (WHICH CAN SNEAK UP ON YOU IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA, WHICH I AM), AND APPLIED MY BRAKES TO SLOW FOR THE SIGN. THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME DID NOT APPEAR TO BE SLOWING, AND THEN I HEAR BRAKES SCREECHING. THE VEHICLE DID MANAGE TO STOP BEFORE HITTING ME; HOWEVER, I WAS RATTLED. AFTER THE ALMOST CRASH, THE DRIVER PULLED ALONGSIDE ME AND INFORMED ME THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE OUT. BECAUSE IT WAS DAYLIGHT, I WENT HOME TO INVESTIGATE, PLACED MY VEHICLE IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, AND OBSERVED THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE, MY FIANCE OBSERVED THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. UNFORTUNATELY, I AM FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO PRIOR OCCASIONS TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED. "TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE; BRAKE LIGHTS, AIR BAG PASSENGER SIDE, IGNITION" SHIFTER INTERMITTENTLY HANGS UP WHEN SHIFTING. CALLED DEALERSHIP FIRST WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO RECALL FOR THAT VIN NUMBER, THAT NOTHING WAS ON FILE. THEN WHEN I READ HIM THE NOTICE I RECEIVED TODAY HE SAID THAT I WAS TO WAIT UNTIL THEY HAD PARTS. I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS CAR AND ASKED FOR A LOANER. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO. (SERVICE DEPT.) CALLED PONTIAC CS. 800 762 2737 I WAS TOLD AFTER EXPLAINING MY PROBLEM THAT IT WAS THE DEALERSHIPS DISCRETION AS TO WHETHER TO PROVIDE A LOANER. SHE TALKED TO DEALERSHIP, CAME BACK AND THEN ASKED ME HOW MANY MI WAS ON CAR. 82K THEN SHE TALKED TO DEALER AGAIN AND SHE COMES BACK AND TELLS ME THEY NEED TO CHECK IT AND PROVIDE ME WITH AN ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS THEN I AM TO CALL THE PONTIAC CUSTOMER SERV BACK WITH THE ESTIMATE. ???????? SO I AM STILL DRIVING A CAR THAT I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH BECAUSE THEY NEED AN ITEMIZED BILL OF REPAIR? IS THIS THE PROCESS FOR A RECALL? THIS CAR IS AN AUTOMATIC AND WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE THE ENGINE JUMPS, WHEN DRIVING THE CAR DURING FIRST AND SECOND GEAR THE CAR JUMPS. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON READS A CAMSHAFT SENSOR MALFUNCTION, THOSE WERE REPLACE AND THE SYSTEM RESET. ONCE THE CAR IS ON THE ROAD FOR TEN MINUTES THE CAR BEGINS TO DO THE SOMETHING. OVER AND OVER WHEN THE CAR SITS FOR TWO OR MORE DAYS THE CAR RESETS AUTOMATICALLY THEN LATER WHILE IN USE DOES IT AGAIN. OIL CHANGE DONE ENGINE FLUSH DONE CAMSHAFT SENSORS CHANGED. *TR

THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT DID NOT DISPLAY A FAILURE CODE; HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE STEERING SENSOR OR THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST COULD BE THE DEFECTED PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000. THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND A BELL RINGS ABOUT THREE TIMES AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON AS LONG AS DRIVE THE CAR, IT IS A VERY FRIGHTENING SITUATION. I FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. SOMETIMES THINKING WOULD IT GO OFF AND MAKE ME HAVE AN ACCIDENT. IF AFRAID TO EVEN LET MY DAUGHTER DRIVE IT. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN 2008 SO I DON'T KNOW IF THE PREVIOUS OWNER EVER TOOK IT FOR THE RECALL. I WAS LOOKING IN THE INTERNET AND SAW THAT IN 2007 THERE WAS A RECALL FOR AIR BAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHICH IT IS EXACTLY WHERE IT IS HAPPENING IN MY VEHICLE RECALL 07V146000. I'M HAVING THIS PROBLEM CONSTANTLY. PLACE ADVISE ME IN WHAT TO DO BEFORE THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. I WILL NOT CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY. MY NAME IS [XXX]. DURING THIS TIME THE SYSTEM IS IDENTIFYING THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATING. THE ISSUES SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE SENSOR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IF THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF THE ERROR MESSAGE AND INDICATOR LAMP GO AWAY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY OVER THE LAST YEAR. IN ADDITION THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER SOMETIMES FAILS TO TURN ON WITH THE VEHICLE, MAKING IT HARD TO TELL WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. DURING THIS TIME THE INFORMATION SCREEN/RADIO ARE NOT ILLUMINATED. THIS IS CORRECTED BY SHUTTING OFF AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. *TR

MY CAR WAS RECALLED DUE TO BRAKE LIGHTS COMING ON AND LOSINIG CRUISE CONTROL. WAS REPAIRED AT MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP ION 9/04/2014 IN COMPLIANCE WITH SAFETY RECALL. RECENTLY THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. I TOOK MY CARE FOR THE FINAL RECALL TO MY DEALERSHIP FOR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE AND ALSO REPORTED TO THEM THE FAILURE OF THE BRAKE LIGHTS ONCE AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT THAT RECALL REPAIR WAS DONE AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG, I RESPONDED WITH THE PART THEY FIXED FOR THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT FAILED AGAIN AFTER THE RECALL FIX. THEY RESPONDED THAT THE PART WAS NOT REPLACED IT WAS FIXED WITH DIALETIC GREASE AND A ZIP TIE. UPON INSPECTION, IT BECAME KNOWN THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE LINKAGE WAS FRACTURED. I FOUND THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL BY GM ON PONTIAC G6 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 26, 2004 TO SEPTEMBER 28,2007 (MODEL YEAR 2005-2008 VEHICLES). THE RECALL (RECALL 14152) CONTAINS THE WORDING "IF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FRACTURES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTION MAY NOT MATCH THE INDICATED GEAR AND THE VEHICLE MAY MOVE IN AN UNINTENDED OR UNEXPECTED DIRECTION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH". THIS IS THE EXACT SYMPTOM WHICH STRUCK MY VEHICLE. UPON CONTACTING GM ABOUT THIS RECALL, I WAS TOLD THE VIN NUMBER OF MY VEHICLE ISN'T INCLUDED IN THEIR PREDETERMINED LOT OF CARS THEY BELIEVE TO BE AFFECTED. THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE EXHIBITS THE EXACT ISSUE THAT GM OPENLY ADMITS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR VEHICLES THEY PRODUCED WITHIN THE YEAR RANGE MINE WAS MANUFACTURED, SHOULD BE CAUSE ENOUGH FOR THEM TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS A DESIGN FLAW WHICH IS AGITATED BY THE CHOICE OF MATERIALS USED IN THIS SPECIFIC FORCE APPLICATION.
