WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE INTERSTATE MY BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON WITHOUT ANY APPLICATION TO THE BRAKES AND MY CRUISE CONTROL DIS-ENGAGED. MY BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ON ALL THE WAY HOME AND MY CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK. THE NEXT DAY THEY WERE WORKING NORMAL AT FIRST AND THEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. *TR

THE VEHICLE RESTARTED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT AND RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVEN SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING. STEERING WHEEL MOVES ITSELF AT LOW SPEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING WITH THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY HARD TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V153000(STEERING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE RE-CALIBRATED OR POSSIBLY REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V146000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,300.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THERE WAS AN IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE WARNING INDICATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. AFTER RESTARTING, THE POWER STEERING RESUMED NORMAL AND AN UNUSUAL NOISE EMITTED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO TIMES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND ONCE RESTARTED, THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,105.
POWER STEERING HOSE WAS BURNED BY EXHAUST PIPE AND SPRAYED THE HOT OIL ALL OVER THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING IMMEDIATE NOXIOUS FUMES IN CABIN AND IMMEDIATE LOSS OF STEERING WHILE WIFE DRIVING TO WORK. THIS HOT STEERING FLUID COULD HAVE EASILY STARTED A FIRE IN THE ENGINE BAY. THANKFULLY MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND EXIT THE DISABLE VEHICLE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED AND REPAIRED ONLY FOR THE ISSUE TO OCCUR AGAIN WITHIN 30 DAYS. YESTERDAY, I HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AGAIN AFTER MAKING A UTURN AND WATCHING THE WHITE SMOKE ENGULF THE CABIN WHILE FLUID SHOT ALL OVER THE ENGINE EXHAUST. A THREE INCIDENTS WERE FROM BURNED HOLE THROUGH THE HEAT SHIELD AND FINALLY THE BLACK HOSE ITSELF. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A HORRIBLE DESIGN ISSUE AND WILL EVENTUALLY CATCH FIRE TO A VERY HOT SOUTH FLORIDA CLIMATE. THIS CAR IS ALL STOCK AND DRIVEN BY MATURE ADULT FEMALE WITH METICULOUS SERVICE RECORDS. *TR
MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES THAT ARE IN THE RECENTLY ANNOUNCED GM RECALL. HOWEVER, UPON CALLING GM, THEY INSIST THAT MY VIN IS NOT ONE OF THE UNITS AFFECTED. EITHER I AM BY COINCIDENCE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT IS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL (CRUISE CONTROL HAVING ISSUES ENGAGING/DISENGAGING; BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATING NOT ILLUMINATING AT PROPER TIMES), OR GM IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE FULL EXTENT OF THE ISSUE. OCCAM'S RAZOR SAYS THAT THE SIMPLEST SOLUTION IS THE MOST LIKELY, AND IN THIS SITUATION, THE SIMPLEST SOLUTION IS THAT THE FAULTY PART(S) WERE USED IN MORE VEHICLES THAN THEY CURRENTLY RECOGNIZE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. AN ERROR CAME UP AFTER THIS HAPPENED. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE STEERING MODULE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
I OWN A PONTIAC G6 2007 I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT AND THE WIRES WAS BURNT AND A LITTLE BIT AFTER THAT MY TRANSMISSION STARTED TO GRIND AND WINE WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOING 45MPH SO I HAD IT TOWED HOME AND IT BEEN THERE UNTIL I CAN FIND OUT IF ITS DO TO THE RECALL. *TR
MY POWER STEERING FROZE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES SINCE THIS INCIDENT. *TR
INTERMITTENTLY LEADING UP TO THE INCIDENT FOR NEARLY 3 WEEKS THE CAR WOULD LOSE POWER STEERING UNTIL THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF THEN TURNED BACK ON AND THE ISSUE WOULD NOT RETURN MOMENTARILY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE CAUTION CHIME CAME ON AND ALL POWER STEERING WAS LOST AND WAS NOT ABLE TO BE RESET. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I FOUND THAT "SOME" MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT THIS MODEL WAS NOT ONE, IT IS THE SAME ISSUE AND THE SAME PARTS HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR A COST OF $800. *TR
AS THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. IT LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND STEERING GOT EXTREMELY FIRM AND COULD BARELY GET TO THE SIDE OF ROAD WITHOUT BEING STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. SHUT VEHICLE OFF WAITED RESTARTED IT. STEERING WHEEL THEN VIBRATED OR BACK AND FORTH VISIBLY DROVE A LITTLE MORE SAME INCIDENT AGAIN. THIS REPEATED TILL VEHICLE MADE IT HOME AND HAS SAT SINCE THEN. CONTACTED GM THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE SAFETY ISSUE EVEN AFTER RECALL WAS RELEASED. CONTACTED THEM MULTIPLE TIMES ALWAYS REFUSING TO FIX ISSUE. *TR
AS SOON AS I DROVE THE CAR DOWN MY STREET, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I WAS ALERTED BY A DING AND THEN A MESSAGE. I PULLED OVER AS BEST AS I COULD AND TURNED MY CAR OFF AND RESTARTED. I GOT ABOUT 1 1/2 MILES AND ONTO A MAJOR STREET BEFORE IT HAPPENED AGAIN. AGAIN, I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF MY CAR, THEN RESTARTED IT. AS SOON AS I PULLED AWAY FROM THE CURB, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THANKFULLY I WAS ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A VERY BAD POSITION. WHEN I GOT TO MY DESTINATION (I CONTINUED BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL TO TURN AROUND) I NEARLY WAS IN A WRECK BECAUSE IT WAS SO SO HARD FOR ME TO RUN THE WHEEL, THE CAR BEHIND ME WASN'T READY FOR THAT. I DID TURN ON MY HAZARDS JUST IN CASE. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE MAKE MODEL AND YEAR HAD NOT BEEN PART OF THE RECALL, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. ESTIMATION = $900 APPROX. I'M DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AS WELL AS OTHERS WHO OWN THIS VEHICLE. IT CLEARLY ISN'T SAFE ENOUGH TO BE ON THE ROADS. WHY HAVE ALL OF THE OTHER YEARS BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE, BUT 2007 HASN'T?! *TR
ON MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK TRAFFIC SLOWED AND DRIVER IN VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN. VEHICLE THEN SLID OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY INTO THE MEDIAN AND STRUCK THE GUARDRAIL HEAD ON. AIRBAGS WERE NOT DEPLOYED. VEHICLE DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. DRIVER WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. *TR
NOTICED GASOLINE SMELL BEHIND THE CAR AND FOUND GAS LEAKING FROM UNDER THE GAS TANK. THIS IS INTERESTING BECAUSE I TOOK THE CAR TO LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP THIS WEEKEND ON 2/22/14 FOR SERVICE AND THEY INDICATED THAT THEY HAD FOUND A SHORTED FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR. HOW IS IT THAT THEY DIDN'T NOTICED THE GAS LEAKING. IN REVIEWING OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THE G6, THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR WHERE THERE IS A PLASTIC LINE ON THE FUEL PUMP WHICH DEVELOPS THE LEAK. NOT SURE HOW LONG THIS CAR HAS BEEN LEAKING GASOLINE AND WE HAD NOT NOTICED IT BEFORE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AROUND CURVE TO THE LEFT POWER STEERING LOCKED UP AND I CRASHED INTO A MAILBOX CAUSING $800 DOLLARS DAMAGE TO MY CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,847 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR CHECKED OUT TWICE FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND REPLACED GAS CAP. THE LIGHT REMAINS ON AND I STILL SMELL GAS THATS NOT SAFE...PLEASE HELP!!
DRIVER CAN TURN ON CAR AND POWER STEERING LIGHT IS FLASHING ON DISPLAY SCREEN. WHEEL IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IF CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED IT SOMETIMES RESETS BUT NOT ALWAYS. HAS HAPPENED WHEN DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN IN CAR. THE IGNITION SWITCH ON MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. IF I DO NOT WARM UP MY VEHICLE, THE KEY CANNOT BE TAKEN OUT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH WHILE IN PARK POSITION. SOMETIMES AFTER WARNING UP, THE KEY IS HARD TO COME OUT THE IGNITION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE STEERING TORQUE SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,725. UPDATED 10/10/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MODEL YEARS 2005, 2006, AND 2008 FOR THIS FAILURE. THE CAR CHIMES AND THE INFORMATION SCREEN ON THE RADIO WOULD DISPLAY *POWER STEERING*. THE STEERING WOULD LOCK UP COMPLETELY AND THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT IT, IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. THE STEERING ALSO TWITCHES AND SHAKES WHILE AT A STAND STILL. TWICE THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING. THREE DAYS BEFORE IT WAS SCHEDULED TO BE FIXED, THE STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT ON MY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS. *TR
I CANNOT REMOVE MY KEY FROM THE IGNITION IN THE MORNING BEFORE MY CAR WARMS UP. IF I STOP TO GET GAS IN THE MORNING, I HAVE TO LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION BECAUSE IT GETS STUCK IN THE KEY IGNITION. ONLY AFTER MY CAR WARMS UP WILL I BE ABLE TO REMOVE MY KEY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER AFTER IT WAS SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,521.
I HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BACK IN FEBRUARY 2015 AND AGAIN IN APRIL 2015. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN 3 DAYS LATER. I HAVE SINCE BEEN PULLED OVER FOR A HEADLIGHT LAMP BEING OUT. I KEEP REPLACING THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BUT CLEARLY IT'S NOT THE BULB. I HAD A 2008 PONTIAC G6 PRIOR TO THE 2007 PONTIAC G6 AND IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT. I CALLED GM TO SEE ABOUT RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BRAKE LAMP MALFUNCTION. I SPECIFIED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY BRAKE LIGHTS AND THEY THEN TOLD ME IT WAS STILL UNDER THE RECALL SO THEY SCHEDULED AND APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT FIXED. UPON ARRIVING HOME AFTER I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS RECALL AND THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WAS STILL OUT. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BACK AND TOLD THEM IT WAS STILL OUT AND THEY PRECEEDED TO TELL ME IT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. SO NOW MY HEADLIGHT IS STILL OUT AND I HAVE NOBODY TO HELP ME ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ON JUST TO BE ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT.
I JUST HIT MY 80K MILES. GENERAL MOTORS EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR EMISSIONS TO 100K ON 2.3 ENGINE'S. I HAVE 3.5 ENGINE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON; TEST SHOWED CADILLAC CONVERTER. I TELEPHONED #1 COCHRAN IN MONROEVILLE 5X AND NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL TO DO EMISSIONS TEST ON MACHINE. THIS IS WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW. THEN I TELEPHONED BOWSER PONTIAC AND THEY COULDN'T GET ME AN APPT TILL WEEKS BECAUSE THEY WERE BUSY AND HAD EMPLOYEES THAT KEPT CALLING OFF. I HAD MY MECHANIC DO THE EMISSION'S TEST, HE MADE A REPORT SHOWING THIS ISSUE. I CALLED GM AND EXPLAINED IF THEY CAN DO THE CUSTOMER GOOD WILL CLAIM BASED ON THE REPORT FROM MY MECHANIC BECAUSE THE DEALER'S COULD NOT GET ME AN APPOINTMENT. THEY SAID NO. THEY DEAL WITH ONLY GM DEALER'S NOT MECHANICS. SO BEING JUST MISSED THE MILEAGE WARRANTY GM IS NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH ME TO ACCEPT MY MECHANIC'S REPORT TO SHOW THEY SHOULD HAVE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO THE 3.5 ENGINE'S TOO. DUE TO THE INABILITY AND NON-WILLING TO WORK WITH THEIR GMAC CUSTOMER'S I AM LOOKING TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH GENERAL MOTORS AS THEY COULD NOT ACCOMMODATE ME AND I HAD TO HAVE MY MECHANIC DIAGNOSE AND PAY FOR THIS REPAIR OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT DO A GOOD WILL CLAIM WITH MY MECHANIC BECAUSE THE DEALER'S COULD NOT GET ME IN TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I HAVE DOCUMENTS TO SHOW THIS ISSUE WITH THE GM DEALER AND THEY REUSED TO ACCOMMODATE ME WITH THE ISSUE THAT THEIR PARTS WERE INEFFECTIVE AND THEY DID NOT ABIDE THEIR WARRANTY BY A FEW MILES AND TO WORK WITH ME TO FILE A GOOD FAITH CLAIM, MEANING SOMETIMES GM PAYS FOR ALL OR SOME OF THE REPAIR BASED ON THE REPORT, BUT MUST HAVE DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE AT DEALER AND NONE OF THE DEALERS COULD GET ME AN APPT, AND I WAS DRIVING AROUND FOR 4 WEEKS WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND DID NOT WANT TO DAMAGE MY VEHICLE WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT AT ANY TIME SOON. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON MY WAY TO SCHOOL AND MY CAR BEGAN TO START SLOWING DOWN AND IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO STEER THE STEERING WHEEL. IN ADDITION TO THAT THE PEDALS BECAME LESS OPERABLE. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER MAYBE 15 MINUTES FROM THE COLLEGE IN WHICH I WAS ATTENDING. AS I WAS TRYING TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL THE CAR WENT INTO THE CURB. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START ONCE I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. AFTER THAT I WAITED A MINUTE AND ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAD TO MISS CLASS AND CALL FOR HELP AND THEN TOOK MY CAR TO OTHER MECHANICS. *TR

WHEN TRAVELING AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH 3 BEEPS WERE HEARD AND A MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAID POWER STEERING. THIS HAPPENED JUST AS THE CAR WAS BEING TURNED AND THERE WAS A TOTAL LOSS OF THE POWERSTEERING. IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO OPERATE AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE FIXED BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT SLOWER SPEED. I CALLED GM AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT ANY RECALL FOR SUCH A PROBLEM. THEN IN THE END OF MARCH OF 2014 A GM RECALL (ID # 102624) WAS SENT OUT PERTAINING TO 2005. 2006, 2008, AND 2009 PONTIAC G6S. 2007 CARS LIKE MINE WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. I LEARNED THAT THIS RECALL COULD AFFECT 1.3 MILLION GM VEHICLES. JEFF BOYER, VICE PRESIDENT OF GM GLOBAL VEHICLE SAFETY, STATED "WITH THESE SAFETY RECALL AND LIFETIME WARRANTIES, WE ARE GOING AFTER EVERY(EMPHASIZED) CAR THAT MIGHT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, AND WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT RIGHT" "WE HAVE RECALLED SOME OF THESE VEHICLES BEFORE FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND OFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTIES ON OTHERS, BUT WE DID NOT DO ENOUGH." I REQUEST THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE WHY 2007 PONTIAC G6S WERE LEFT OUT OF THIS RECALL. I HAVE HAD THE POWER STEERING COLUMN REPLACED TWO TIMES AT GREAT EXPENSE AND I BELIEVE THAT GM SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIR. GM MUST ANSWER IF THE 2007 G6S WERE MATERIALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE 2005,2006,2008 AND 2009 MODELS. WERE TOTALLY NEW PARTS AND SYSTEMS ONLY AVAILABLE IN 2007 AND THEN CHANGED AGAIN FOR 2008 AND 2009? . I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT TO GM AND HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM ANALYZED BY MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I AM AWAITING WHETHER GM WILL PROVIDE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN CORRECTING THIS POWERSTEERING ISSUE. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WAS BLINKING ON THE CONSOLE OFF AND ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR (MARCH 2013). THE POWER STEERING WOULD SHAKE, MAKE CLICKING NOISES (I HAD REPEATEDLY CALLED THE PLACE I BOUGHT THE CAR AT AND THEY SAID SINCE THE CAR WAS BOUGHT USED AND THEY ARE NOT A SERVICE STATION IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM). I SAW ON THE NEWS THAT GM WAS RECALLING POWER STEERING FOR THE G6S BUT ONLY ON SOME NOT ALL. IF YOU INVESTIGATE ONLINE..THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE WITH ALL MODELS OF PONTIAC G6. I CALLED GM AT THE TIME OF THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THAT IF MY CAR WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL I WOULD RECEIVE A NOTICE. WELL I HAVEN'T RECEIVED THAT NOTICE TO DATE AND THIS IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM SINCE THIS CAR IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING THAT THE RECALL STATES FOR THE OTHER YEARS...THIS PROBLEM IS DEFINITELY AFFECTING THE 2007 G6 AS WELL AS ALL OF THE OTHER YEARS. ON JAN 21, 2014 THE POWER STEERING LIGHT AND BEEP WENT OFF AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD NOT WORK. I COULD TURN THE CAR OFF, TURN THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH WHILE TURNING THE KEY BACK ON AND THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED - FOR A WHILE. THIS TECHNIQUE NO LONGER WORKS. TWO YEARS AGO THE STEERING WENT OUT SPORADICALLY FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS-I COULD TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN AND THE STEERING WOULD WORK. WE CHECKED INTO GETTING IT FIXED BUT WERE TOLD IT WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST (WHY NOT??). FOR SOME REASON,BACK THEN, THE PROBLEM JUST STOPPED HAPPENING AND THE STEERING WAS FINE AGAIN UNTIL THIS PAST JANUARY. I'M NOT SURE WHAT IS TRIGGERING THIS PROBLEM BUT I DO KNOW THAT IT IS GOING TO COST QUITE A BIT OF MONEY TO FIX. DRIVING ALONG THE ROAD A DEER CAME OUT WE TRIED TO SWERVE TO AVOID THE DEER AND SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, AND VEHICLE LOST STEERING DUE TO ANTI SKID FAILURE, DOES NOT INDICATE ANTI SKID FAILURE, SHOWS IT IS OPERATIONAL, TIRES WERE VERY HEAVILY FLAT SPOTTED, WE WENT OFF THE ROAD AND HIT A SIGN AND DAMAGED THE FRONT OF THE CAR AFTER THIS THE AIR BAG SENSOR IS DANGLING WE HAD NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT WAS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND WE WERE TOLD THE ANTI SKID AND OUR CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM WAS ALL WORKING AND NORMAL, THE CAR WILL SURGE FORWARD VERY FAST WHEN THE CRUISE IS SET, IT WILL GO ABOUT 10 MPH PAST THE SET SPEED, AND WILL GO BACK TO THE SET SPEED, BUT NOT UNTIL IT GOES VERY QUICKLY TO THE POINT WHERE IF YOUR NOT CAREFUL YOU WILL RUN UP ON SOMEONE IN FRONT OF YOU. *TR

WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 I HAD TO HAVE THE STEERING SHAFT REPLACED, NOW JUST AFTER 6 MONTHS MY POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO TURN.
