THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT TO GO ALONG. THE POWER STEERING ON MY 07 PONTIAC G6 WENT OUT ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. IT NOW GOES IN AND OUT WHILE I'M DRIVING. *TR
MY POWER STEERING SIGNAL COMES ON ACROSS THE RADIO DASH AND THEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, SO THEN I HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT. SO I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE, AND NOW I AM WONDERING IF THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE REGARDING THIS ISSUE? *TR
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK. STARTED OUT FINE. DROVE FOR 5 MINUTES. TURNED RIGHT ON RED, THANK GOD THERE WERE NO CARS, AS SOON AS I ACCELERATED GOING 10 MILES MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WENT ON, JUST ABOUT IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTINUE THE TURN. ALMOST WENT INTO THE MEDIAN. IT TOOK EVERY BIT OF STRENGTH I HAD TO TURN THE WHEEL. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS & AM SEEING THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH MANY G6 OWNERS. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS DEFECT BECAUSE I HAVE MY GRANDKIDS IN THE CAR WITH ME OFTEN. THIS IS SERIOUS ENOUGH FOR A RECALL. THIS DEFECT IS GOING TO CAUSE FATALITIES.THERE IS NO WARNING BEFORE IT HAPPENS. I AM SO ANGRY THAT THEY ARE PUTTING PEOPLES LIVES IN DANGER. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY CAR ANYMORE. I ALSO TRAVEL TWICE A WEEK ON THE EXPRESSWAY & THE EXIT I USE CURVES WITH A 35 FOOT DROP AND NO BARRICADE, GUESS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I'M COMING OFF THE EXPRESSWAY & CAN'T TURN THE WHEEL! *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAD THE SAME ISSUES AS OTHER YEAR MODELS IN WHICH THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK PROPERLY AND THERE WAS A RECALL. THIS ISSUE RESULTED IN AN UNDRIVEABLE VEHICLE AND A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING GEAR BOX, RACK AND PINION STEERING, ETC. THIS YEAR MODEL WAS NOT RECALLED AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WITHOUT PUSHING BRAKE PEDAL. CRUISE WILL NOT ENGAGE. CAR FAILS TO COME OUT OF PARK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 2 MPH IN REVERSE FROM A PARKING SPACE, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO SEIZE. THE POWER STEERING SENSOR LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND AN AUDIBLE CHIME SOUNDED AFTER THE DEFECT OCCURRED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE, AND THE DEFECT WAS CORRECTED TEMPORARILY BUT SPORADICALLY RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. *TR
HEADLAMPS FOR ALL VEHICLES: THE NEWER BLUE, PINK, PURPLE COLORED HEADLIGHTS ARE BLINDING TO LIGHT SENSITIVE EYES. BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE BAD ENOUGH AND THEN ALMOST EVERY VEHICLE HAS FOG LIGHTS THAT PEOPLE LEAVE ON ALL THE TIME AND ARE BLINDING. BUT, THESE NEW COLORED LIGHTS ACTUALLY HURT LIGHT SENSITIVE EYES & TOTALLY BLIND YOU FOR MORE THAN A SECOND. FIRST TIME I ENCOUNTERED IT SCARED THE HECK OUT OF ME. MORE & MORE PEOPLE I TALK TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT NIGHT I HAVE TO WEAR MY SUNGLASSES WHICH REDUCES MY VISIBILITY. THESE LIGHTS NEED TO BE BANNED BEFORE THERE'S A MAJOR ACCIDENT CAUSED BY BLINDING. *TR
DRIVING DOWN I 35 AT 75 MPH THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT FOR OVER 6 MINUTES. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO JERK. I REACHED MY DESTINATION AND WHEN I GOT BACK INTO MY CAR, THE DISPLAY READ 'POWER STEERING.' I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE WHEEL AND COULD NOT WITHOUT EXTREME DIFFICULTY. I HAD TO HAVE MY GIRLFRIEND GET HERSELF AND OUR NEW BORN BABY READY AT 2AM TO COME PICK ME UP FROM WORK DUE TO THIS. I ALSO EXPERIENCED THE WHEEL JERKING TO ONE SIDE WHILE I WAS DRIVING BEFORE IT WENT COMPLETELY OUT AND IT CAUSED ME TO CROSS THE DOUBLE YELLOW LINE. THIS NEEDS TO BE CONSIDERED GOOD ENOUGH FOR A RECALL SINCE THAT OBVIOUSLY COULD HAVE TAKEN LIVES. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON MY WAY TO WORK WHEN THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE FLASHED ON MY RADIO. I THEN LOST ALL POWER STEERING IN MY CAR. I COULDN'T STEER THE VEHICLE EVEN WHEN FORCE WAS EXERTED. I ENDED UP HAVING TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE AND THE STEERING COLUMN. ($1,249) HOWEVER, IT IS STILL HARD TO STEER AND I AM NOT SATISFIED AT ALL WITH THE OUTCOME. THIS IS ANOTHER COMPLAINT ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP MODULE ON MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 WHIT 50180 MILES. DEALER DIAGNOSED PROBLEM. RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO COVER THIS MODEL ALSO. NUMEROUS GM VEHICLES WITH SAME PROBLEM WITH SAME PART HAVE BEEN RECALLED. VERY DANGEROUS. CAN NOT PARK CAR WERE THERE IS AN OPEN FLAME (WATER HEATER, HOME HEATER). A LOT OF GASOLINE FUMES, NOT GOOD FOR PEOPLE WITH RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS. SOME ONE PLEASE HELP. GM NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING. *TR
I WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND IT FLASHES CHECK AIR BAGS. AND MY SEAT BELTS WON'T EXTEND TO BUCKLE. ALSO, UNDER MY HOOD IT STARTS TO SMOKE AND THERE'S NO LEAK OR ANYTHING. *TR
A COUPLE OF TIMES THIS PAST YEAR AFTER MY VEHICLE HIT 75K MILES, MY STEERING HAS LOCKED UP CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO PULL ON THE WHEEL VERY HARD JUST TO MAKE THE TURN WHICH A BIT OF A CONCERN. THANKFULLY NO ACCIDENT RESULTING FROM THIS. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS PROBLEM IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. HOWEVER I HAVE ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS. A FRIEND WHO WAS FOLLOWING ME ADVISED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE TURNING ON EVEN WHEN I WASN'T BRAKING. ADDITIONALLY, IN JULY OF 2013 (MY VEHICLE WAS AT ABOUT 70K MILES) WE BEGAN SMELLING GASOLINE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. WE TOOK IT TO GET THE CAR REPAIRED AND THE MECHANIC IDENTIFIED THAT MY FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING GASOLINE AND HAD TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED WHICH COST ABOUT $1000. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOW COME ON AGAIN AND I AM TAKING IT THIS WEEK TO GET IT INSPECTED. THE CAR JERKS WHEN MOVING IT FROM PARK INTO GEAR, AND WHEN DRIVING THE TIMING SEEMS TO BE OFF WHEN ACCELERATING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITH A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESUME AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
I HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC G6 AND I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS MALFUNCTIONING. THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL COME ON WHEN I AM NOT PRESSING DOWN THE BRAKES AND WHEN I DO PRESS ON THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. I HAVE ALSO HAD TROUBLE SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A INVESTIGATION GOING ON THAT MAY POSSIBLY RESULT IN A RECALL. I JUST WANTED TO PUT MY COMPLAINT IN BECAUSE I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. ALSO I SEE ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS AS WELL. THANKS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD INDEPENDENTLY STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
WHEN TRAVELING AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH 3 BEEPS WERE HEARD AND A MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAID POWER STEERING. RIGHT AFTER THAT THERE WAS A TOTAL LOSS OF THE POWERSTEERING. WHEN THE CAR IGNITION WAS SHUT OFF AND THE CAR RESTARTED POWERSTEERING WAS RESTORED FOR UP TO 10-20 MILES. THEN THE BEEPS WERE AGAIN HEARD AND MESSAGE AGAIN APPEARED AND THE POWERSTEERING WENT OUT AGAIN. ON AGAIN OFF AGAIN. WE HAD TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE IN THIS MODE FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS. FINALLY IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO OPERATE AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED FOR 2 MONTHS. I CALLED GM AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT ANY RECALL FOR SUCH A PROBLEM. THEN IN THE END OF MARCH OF 2014 A GM RECALL (ID # 102624) WAS SENT OUT PERTAINING TO 2005. 2006, 2008, AND 2009 PONTIAC G6S. 2007 CARS LIKE MINE WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. I LEARNED THAT THIS RECALL COULD AFFECT 1.3 MILLION GM VEHICLES. [XXX], VICE PRESIDENT OF GM GLOBAL VEHICLE SAFETY, STATED "WITH THESE SAFETY RECALL AND LIFETIME WARRANTIES, WE ARE GOING AFTER EVERY(EMPHASIZED) CAR THAT MIGHT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, AND WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT RIGHT" "WE HAVE RECALLED SOME OF THESE VEHICLES BEFORE FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND OFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTIES ON OTHERS, BUT WE DID NOT DO ENOUGH." I REQUEST THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE WHY 2007 PONTIAC G6S WERE LEFT OUT OF THIS RECALL. I MUST HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED AND I BELIEVE THAT GM SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIR. GM MUST ANSWER IF THE 2007 G6S WERE MATERIALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE 2005,2006,2008 AND 2009 MODELS. WERE TOTALLY NEW PARTS AND SYSTEMS ONLY AVAILABLE IN 2007 AND THEN CHANGED AGAIN FOR 2008 AND 2009? . I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT TO GM AND HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM ANALYZED BY MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I AM AWAITING WHETHER GM WILL PROVIDE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN CORRECTING THIS POWERSTEERING ISSUE. THE FIRST DAY IT GOT BELOW 40 DEGREES OUTSIDE I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING FELT LIKE IT NEEDED FLUID BY THE TIME I GOT MY SON TO SCHOOL 20 MIN LATER I HAD NO POWER STEERING THAT'S WHEN I REALIZED THAT IT WAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT ALOT OF THE 07 G6S HAS THIS PROBLEM I KEEP WAITING ON A RECALL BECAUSE I CANT AFFORD TO HAVE THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED. REPLACEMENT COSTS BETWEEN 700.00 AND 1200.00. I AM STILL DRIVING THE CAR WITH NO POWER STEERING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
BRAKES LIGHTS TURN ON WHILE ACCELERATING AND TURN OFF WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. SOMETIMES HAVE A PROBLEM SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. CRUISE CONTROL ALSO SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY. *TR
THERE IS A FUEL LEAK COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE LEAK IS DIRECTLY ABOVE THE EXHAUST WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. I BELIEVE IT IS FROM A FUEL LINE OR THE FUEL PUMP. *TR

THE DEALER REPLACED AND CODED THE IGNITION SWITCH CYLINDER AS A REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,716 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,020. UPDATED 04/29/14 MA THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE IGNITION WAS NOT IN THE OFF POSITION, WHEN HE RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER FOUND THE IGNITION CYLINDER AND SWITCH NOT READING PROPERLY WHEN THE CAR WAS IN GEAR. UPDATED 04/29/14
CAR HAS CAUGHT ON FIRE TWICE DUE TO POWER STEERING HOSE RUBBING AND LEAKING FLAMMABLE FLUIDS BRAKE LIGHTS MALFUNCTION ALWAYS....ON WHEN ACCELERATING AND OFF WHEN YOU ACTUALLY APPLY BRAKES AIR BAG LIGHTS ON AND OFF ON AND OFF--MALFUNCTIONING ALL THE TIME. *TR
CAR STARTED SMELLING LIKE GASOLINE AROUND HALOWEEN TIME. SMELL JUST KEPT GETTING STRONGER AS TIME WENT BY. I WOULD HAVE TROUBLE STARTING THE VEHICLE AND NOW THERE IS GASOLINE DRIPPING FROM THE TANK WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED. *TR
I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED DURING MY MOST RECENT OIL CHANGE THAT THERE IS A FUEL LEAK ON MY 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE MECHANIC STATED HE HAS SEEN SEVERAL GM VEHICLES INCLUDING OTHER G6'S WITH THIS SAME ISSUE THIS SUMMER. THE 2007 PONTIAC G5 WAS RECENTLY RECALLED DUE TO THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. GM PUT ME AND MY FAMILY IN DANGER BY NOT INCLUDING THE G6 IN THEIR RECALL. THE FUEL PUMP ON THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE PEOPLE START GETTING KILLED IN FIRES CAUSED BY THIS FAULTY FUEL PUMP. THE HEAT IN THE STATE I LIVE IN (ARIZONA) CAUSES CRACKS TO FORM IN THE PLASTIC ON THE FUEL PUMP CAUSING A FUEL LEAK. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ADDRESSED IN GM'S RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 12190 WHICH IS AN EXPANSION OF RECALL 09V-419 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000). 5 OTHER 2007 GM MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS FIRE HAZARD. IT IS TIME THAT THE RECALL IS ONCE AGAIN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ALL GM MODELS WITH THIS FUEL PUMP PROBLEM. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE OF THE FUEL LEAKS CLOSE PROXIMITY TO EXTREMELY HOT EXHAUST PARTS. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THESE FUEL PUMPS START CATCHING FIRE AND KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW THERE IS A FUEL LEAK. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM AND FORCE GM TO STOP DRAGGING THEIR FEET IN THIS MATTER BEFORE THEY KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE. *TR

2007 PONTIAC G6 GT. WHEN I AM NOT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE LIGHTS REMAIN ON AS IF I WERE BRAKING. WHEN THE BRAKES ARE DEPRESSED, THE LIGHTS TURN OFF. CONDITION HAS BEEN CONTINUALLY OCCURRING AND I FEAR IT MAY PRESENT ITSELF ONE DAY RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED WHENEVER HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR, CAM SHAFT ACTUATOR SOLENOID SENSOR WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
LAST WEEK I WAS FOLLOWING MY SON DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN I NOTICED HIS BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON WHILE DRIVING. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN WE APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT, HIS BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OFF. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG HE HAD BEEN DRIVING HIS VEHICLE WITH NO BRAKES LIGHTS WHILE BRAKING. HINDSIGHT, MOST LIKELY, WHEN HIS CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING (EARLY SUMMER). HE IS A COLLEGE STUDENT THAT ATTENDS A UNIVERSITY 3 HOURS FROM HOME AND TRAVELS THE INTERSTATE FREQUENTLY. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I FIND IT VERY NEGLIGENT THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS FAULTY SENSOR. WOULD ANY EMPLOYEE OF GENERAL MOTORS WANT THEIR CHILD DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS? PLEASE PUT A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR

I OWN A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT EVEN TOUCHED. WHEN I DO APPLY THE BRAKE, THE BRAKE LIGHT SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS CAUSED SEVERAL "CLOSE CALLS" DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING. I AM AWARE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM ON THE 2005 AND 2006 PONTIAC G6'S, WHICH WAS DIAGNOSED AS CORROSION IN A WIRING CONNECTOR PROBLEM. PERHAPS SOME OF THESE BAD WIRING CONNECTORS WERE USED IN THE 2007 CARS. ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING AND IN A TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND THEN WOULDN'T TURN ANY MORE - STUCK IN A TURN IN AN INTERSECTION. HAD TO TURN CAR OFF AND RESTART TO CLEAR THE ISSUE. CONTINUED DOING THIS, SO TOOK IT TO A TRUSTED INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. DIAGNOSIS WAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR FAILURE. THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING MOTOR CONTROL MODULE AT A COST OF $758.25. WITHIN A MONTH, THE RADIO DISPLAY SHOWED "POWER STEERING" FAULT. TRADED THE G6 FOR A SUBARU FORESTER. DISCLOSED THE POWER STEERING ISSUE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS! *TR
