OUR 2007 PONTIAC G6 BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT DEPRESSED. ONCE THE PEDAL IS PRESSED THE LIGHTS GO OFF. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND WE HAVE REPLACED THE LIGHTING SWITCH ONCE. THE SHOP HAS TOLD US THAT THEY HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX THE ISSUE BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY AND WE HAVE HAD PEOPLE BEHIND US LOCK UP THEIR BRAKES TO AVOID REAR RENDING US BECAUSE THEY AREN'T AWARE THAT WE ARE ACTUALLY ON THE BRAKES WHEN THEY ARE FOLLOWING US. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE NOT ENGAGED AND FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD DISENGAGE INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
REPLACE THE BULB BUT KEEP SHORTAGE OUT WITH THE WIRING BURNING. I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT THIS THE THIRD TIME OR MORE LOST COUNT. THE MOST RECENTLY IS 2/28/2015. I HAVE TO BUY A WHOLE HEADLAMP BECAUSE THE WIRING IS BURNT. I CAN TAKE A PICTURE OF IT YOU WOULD LIKE ME TOO. ALSO, I DON'T WANT TO GET A TICKET BECAUSE I HAVE A HEADLAMP OUT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL ON WHEN IT RANDOMLY TURNED OFF. THE LIGHT WAS STILL ON THAT SHOWS THAT CRUISE CONTROL IS READY TO BE ON BUT IT WOULD NOT COME BACK ON AND HAS BEEN ON AND OFF SINCE. THE CRUISE CONTROL NO LONGER WORKS. MY BRAKE LIGHTS ALSO HAVE BEEN ACTING UP. WHILE I DRIVE WITHOUT APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON, BUT WHEN I GO TO STOP, THEY TURN OFF. *TR

I WAS TURNING OFF A HIGHWAY AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN ALMOST TURNED INTO CAR IN NEXT LANE TRYING TO TURN. CAR CONSTANTLY HAS POWER STEERING GOING OUT. ALSO POPPING TURNING INTO PARKING SPACE OR DRIVE WAY. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY A DIFFERENT CAR. IS GM GOING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR
DRIVING ON THEHIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE ON. THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUT OFF AND BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED WITHOUTH DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURNED OFF. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITRCH, FUSES, ADDED DIEELECTRIC GREASE TO THE NODES, REMOVED THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED TEMPORARILY AND THEN START AGAIN. THIS IS INCREDIBLY UNSAFE. PLEASE EXTEND THE RECALL TO MODELS NEWER THAN 2005. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. GM NEED TO FIX THIS ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLES. *TR
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM DID NOT ILLUMINATE. CHANGED THE BULB, DID NOT HELP. CHECKED THE WIRING AND THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE BULB AND THE WIRING WAS MELTED. REPLACED THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WHICH SOLVED THE ISSUE FOR A MONTH. ONE OF THE CONNECTIONS ON THE FEMALE TERMINAL OF THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE ASSEMBLY HAS CORRODED AND CAUSES THE LIGHT TO SHORT. THIS HAS MADE DRIVING DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE AT NIGHT. *TR
SINCE LAST YEAR, LET'S SAY IN SPRING, I HAD PROBLEMS SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. DOESN'T DO IT EVERY TIME. LATER I NOTICED THAT MY BRAKELIGHTS ARE ALWAYS ILLUMINATED. WILL NOT CHANGE IF THE BRAKE IS PUSHED. BUT IF I PUSH HARD ENOUGH ON THEM THEY TURN OFF ALL TOGETHER. WHEN PRESSED ON THE BRAKE AGAIN THEY DO NOT LIGHT UP AT ALL. SO AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE LIGHTS ALL COME BACK ON WHEN I AM NOT PRESSING ON THE BRAKE. BACK TO THE BEGINNING. ALSO MY CRUISE CONTROL TURNS OFF WHEN I'M USING IT. SOMETIMES MY LIGHTS GO IN AND OUT OF CLIMATE CONTROLS. NOW I CALLED GM ABOUT THE RECALL ON MY MAKE/MODEL/YEAR AND GAVE HER MY VIN NUMBER. SHE SAID I AM NOT CURRENTLY INCLUDED ON THE RECALL. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? I NEED THIS FIXED BEFORE I GET A TICKET OR GET INTO AN ACCIDENT! *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 07 PONTIAC G6 INTO WALMART PARKING LOT. I WENT TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE AND MY POWERING STEERING LOCKED UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ON AND OFF FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. ALSO, STARTING IN FEB. MY WIPERS HAVE GONE OUT ON ME TWO DIFFERENT TIMES. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN A SNOW STORM AND THIS LAST TIME IN A BAD RAIN STORM. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A RECALL THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ON PONTIAC G6 2007. *TR
ON APRIL 29, 2013 MY HUSBAND WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION WITH OUR 2007 PONTIAC G6. HE HIT THE REAR END OF A TRUCK, HEAD ON, GOING 80 MPH AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NOT ONE. OUR VEHICLE WAS TOTALED OUT. THE DAMAGE SUSTAINED TO OUR VEHICLE AND IMPACT OF THE COLLISION SHOULD HAVE SENT EVERY AIRBAG IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR OFF. *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY G6 ARE OPERATING IN REVERSE. WHEN I ACCELERATE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON BUT WHEN I COME TO A STOP, THEY GO OFF. THE ISSUE OCCURS SPORADICALLY. ALSO, THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL GO OFF FOR NO REASON AND SOMETIMES IT REFUSES TO SET. WHEN I CALLED THE GM DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT MY CAR TO TELL THEM OF THE BRAKE PROBLEM, THE GUY IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME HE WASN'T AT ALL FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE AND I'M FILING THIS COMPLAINT AS A LAST RESORT. *TR
STEERING WHEEL STARTED JERKING. THEN STEERING WHEEL ACTED AS IF IT WOULD LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE CONTINUES THIS BEHAVIOR, ALSO STEERING WILL JERK LEFT THEN WILL JERK RIGHT. AT ONE POINT IN THE LAST MONTH, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY, BUT THEN WENT OUT. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO PERFORM POORLY WITH STEERING. VERY DISTURBING TO TRY TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND NOW TEND TO STAY OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH IT ALTOGETHER. 2006 AND 2008 MODELS HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED DUE TO THIS DEFECT. *TR
THE SERVICE ESC LIGHT CAME ON, BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED ALONG WITH DISABLING THE STABILITY TRACK, AND CRUISE CONTROL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE APPROXIMATELY 3 MPH WHEN THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM. THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V146000 (AIR BAGS) BUT THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY OFFERED TO ASSIST WITH SIXTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR EXPENSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,700. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I CAME TO A STOP WHEN TRAFFIC AHEAD OF ME BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. I WAS AT A DEAD STOP WHEN A CAR CAME SLIDING PAST ME IN THE GRAVEL TO THE RIGHT OF ME. WHEN WE GOT TO THE STOP SIGN THE DRIVER OF THAT VEHICLE INFORMED ME THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE INOPERATIVE. I FOUND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE CONSIDERING I HAD JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE A MONTH PRIOR. ABOUT A WEEK LATER I HAD A CAR HONK AT ME AND YELL OVER TO ME THAT I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. WHEN YOU START THE CAR, YOU CAN WALK AROUND THE BACK OF THE CAR AND SEE THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON, WITH NOBODY EVEN IN THE CAR. I HAVE FOLLOWED MY GIRLFRIEND WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THEY FUNCTION THE EXACT OPPOSITE WAY THAT THEY SHOULD, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON THE WHOLE TIME YOU ARE DRIVING AND WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE LIGHTS GO OUT COMPLETELY AND DO NOT RETURN ON UNTIL YOU BEGIN ACCELERATING AGAIN. I HAVE HAD THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR REPLACED, CALIBRATED AND IT DID CURE THE PROBLEM FOR A MONTH OR SO, THEN THE PROBLEM RETURNED. NEXT I HAD THE "FIX" FOR THE BCM CONNECTOR PERFORMED, THE DIELECTRIC GREASE DID NOTHING. SO NOW THE PROBLEM REMAINS, EVERYDAY PEOPLE RIDE RIGHT ON MY BUMPER AND I FEAR THAT AN ACCIDENT CAN COME OF THIS, AND GM NEEDS TO FIND A FIX FOR THIS AND RECALL THESE VEHICLES ASAP. *TR
MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD BE ON WHEN I DIDN'T USE MY BRAKES AND WHEN I USED THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OFF. EARLIER TODAY I WAS VERY CLOSE TO HAVING SOMEONE HIT ME IN THE BACK END BECAUSE OF THIS. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM OUT AND DISCOVERED THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND WAS LEAKING FLUID. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SEVERAL UNKNOWN PARTS WERE REPLACED PREVIOUSLY, BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR A NOTIFICATION CAME UP ON THE RADIO DISPLAY SAYING "POWER STEERING" AND A SOUND WENT OFF AS WELL. THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITING A FEW SECONDS, AND RESTARTED AND THE MESSAGE WENT AWAY. NOW WHEN STOPPING THE STEERING WHEEL WILL MOVE ON ITS OWN PULLING TO THE LEFT. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN GETTING MORE AND MORE FREQUENT SINCE IT STARTED. *TR
EVERY SO OFTEN, EITHER WHEN I FIRST START MY G6 OR AFTER ITS BEEN DRIVING FOR AWHILE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL COME ON EVEN WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT BEING PRESSED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT PULLS ME OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL, BECAUSE IT THINKS I'M BRAKING, AND CARS BEHIND ME WILL HONK AND FLASH THEIR LIGHTS. I READ THAT THIS WAS A RECALL ON 2005 AND 2006 PONTIAC G6S BUT I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM WENT INTO THE 2007 MODEL YEAR ALSO. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR AT RANDOM, ALTHOUGH IF THERE'S BEEN RAIN OR SNOW, IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY. *TR
WATER PUMP - CONTINUOUS REPLACEMENT OF WATER PUMP ABOUT EVERY 2 TO 2-1/2 YEARS (AFTER ORIGINAL HAS QUIT WORKING) ALONG WITH THERMOSTAT REPLACEMENT. THIS PROCESS IS EXTREMELY TIME CONSUMING AND ONEROUS TO COMPLETE WITHIN A TYPICAL 8 HOUR DAY, ALONG WITH A FLUID DRAIN, FLUSH AND REPLACEMENT WITH FRESH FLUID. ALSO, CONSTANT REGULAR REPLACEMENT OF BOTH FRONT HUB ASSEMBLIES, THOUGH NOT QUITE AS TIME CONSUMING, IS STILL A BURDENSOME ISSUE. ESPECIALLY AS NEITHER THE INDIVIDUAL FRONT HUB ASSEMBLIES OR THE WATER PUMP IS INEXPENSIVE. THE 3 FRONT HUB ASSEMBLIES - 2 FOR THE FRONT LEFT SINCE APRIL OF 2016 & SOON TO BE 2 RIGHT FRONT HUB ASSEMBLIES SINCE MARCH OF 2016 (BOTH OF WHICH LOCKED UP OR "FROZE UP" THEREFORE NOT ALLOWING THE WHEEL TO TURN AT ALL. BOTH INSTANCES OF THE WATER PUMP FAILURE COULD HAVE RESULTED IN VERY SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGE AND/OR FAILURE HAD THE PROBLEM NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED PROMPTLY. I CAN ILL AFFORD TO CONTINUE REPLACEMENT OF EITHER PART AT CURRENT PRICES EVERY COUPLE OF YEARS, NEVER MIND THE INCONVENIENCE AND LOSS OF USUALLY BOTH CLASS TIME AND AVAILABILITY FOR WORK. PROBLEMS BEGAN MARCH 21, 2013 AND CONTINUE THROUGH TODAY, AS I AM STILL ASSESSING HOW TO AFFORD A SECOND MUCH NEEDED HUB ASSEMBLY FOR THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. THIS, ALONG WITH AT LEAST ANOTHER $500 (MINIMUM) FOR OTHER PARTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE CURRENT MECHANICAL ISSUES AND NEEDS, IS DIFFICULT TO AFFORD. ESPECIALLY WHEN ALL PARTS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS MENTIONED AMOUNT ARE MOST DEFINITELY NECESSARY TO INSURE THE SAFETY OF OCCUPANTS AND OTHERS WHO MAY BE AROUND SHOULD ONE OR MORE PARTS FAIL WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
POWER STEERING STARTED GOING OUT RANDOMLY AND NOW GOES OUT EVERY TIME I DRIVE. DEALER SAYS MY PARTICULAR MODEL'S VIN DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR THE CURRENT RECALL. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS WERE COMING ON WITH OUT HITTING THE BRAKES. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND PEOPLE WERE YELLING AT ME THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE CONSTANTLY ON. I PULLED IT INTO THE SHOP AND THEY WERE ON WHEN THEY SHOULDN'T BE AND WENT OFF WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE. I HAVE HAD THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH REPLACED AND IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING FAILURES IDENTICAL TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000: (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE AND, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD DIM. ADDITIONALLY, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT THE GEAR OUT OF PARK. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD DISENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
VEHICLE HAS STARTED HAVING POPPING NOISES IN STEERING DURING LOW SPEED TURNS LEFT AND RIGHT. YOU CAN FEEL AND HEAR THE POPPING SOUNDS AS YOU TURN. POPPING NOISE SEEMS TO BE GETTING LOUDER. *TR
2007 PONTIAC G6 MADE A LOUD DINGING SOUND LIKE A SMOKE DETECTOR , LIGHTS WERE GOING OFF AND ON, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK AND COULDN'T STOP THE CAR. *TA THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HIT A DITCH. THE ENTIRE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION WAS JERKING *JB
HAD CAR PARKED AND NOTICED MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON. PRESSED BRAKE PEDAL AND DEPRESSED IT AND THE LIGHTS WENT OFF ONLY TO COME BACK ON. AFFECTS MY THIRD BRAKE LIGHT AS WELL. HAPPENS IN THE DAYTIME AS WELL AS NIGHT. SPORADIC. WAS TOLD MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN IN MOTION AND TURN OFF WHEN STOPPED. WORRIED I MIGHT GET IN AN ACCIDENT OR GET PULLED OVER. *TR
THE POWER STEERING RANDOMLY WILL SUDDENLY LOOSE POWER STEERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. POWER STEERING IS RESTORED ONCE THE CAR IS RESTARTED. OUR VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BY GM FOR THE VERY SAME POWER STEERING ISSUE THAT OTHER SAME MODEL YEAR PONTIAC G6 CARS ARE INCLUDED IN. IT WAS FIRST NOTICED IN 2013 (MILEAGE UNKNOWN- AMOUNT ABOVE IS ESTIMATE) BY MY HUSBAND WHO WAS PRIMARY DRIVER AND IT WOULD ONLY HAPPEN WHEN GOING IN REVERSE. IT WOULD HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK ONLY IN REVERSE AND IT RESTORED ON ITS OWN. I WAS DRIVING IT IN 2014 WHEN I WAS GOING ABOUT 30MPH- IT WENT OUT ON ME. IT ONLY RESTORED WHEN CAR WAS RESTARTED. *TR
MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WITH OUT ME EVEN TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDDLE. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH 4 TIMES ALREADY. WITH ONE OF THEM BEING TODAY. ON MY WAY HOME TONIGHT THE BRAKE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS LIKE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I'M AFRAID THAT THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT . MY CAR STARTED TO BE SLOW TO TURN ON AND WOULD CRANK. AT THE SAME TIME I WOULD NOTICE A SMELL OF GASOLINE FROM THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE. THE SMELL OF THE RAW GASOLINE WAS VERY APPARENT WHEN THE CAR WOULD SIT IN MY GARAGE. THE SLOW STARTING OF THE CAR BECAME WORSE AND WORSE. I READ ABOUT SIMILAR ISSUES WITH A RECALL ON THE PONTIAC G5 MODEL FUEL PUMPS. I TOOK IT TO A CERTIFIED GM SERVICE SHOP AND THEY INDICATED IT WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL PUMP CAUSING LEAKING OF GASOLINE. THIS IS VERY ALARMING AS IT IS A FIRE HAZARD. THE COST TO FIX WAS APPROXIMATELY $1100.00. *TR
WHEN I WAS DRIVING, DON'T KNOW FOR SURE THE SPEED, THE ENGINE STARTED TO OVERHEAT THE A/C STARTED BLOWING HOT AIR I STOPPED AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE AND REPLACED A COOLING SENSOR ON THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE. SOME HOW IT KEPT DOING IT ONLY IN THE SUMMER. THEN NOT LONG AFTER THAT MY OIL PRESSURE LIGHT KEPT GOING ON AND OFF PERIODICALLY. I HAVE BEEN HAVING POWERS STEERING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR FOR MONTHS. POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON, THE WHEEL JERKS MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL SOMETIMES. AT HIGHER SPEEDS IT SEEMED TO BE WORSE, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL VIBRATE. I DID BRING IT TO A DEALER THAT TOLD ME THERE WAS EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON 2005 AND 2006 G6 MODELS , BUT NOT 2007. I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. YESTERDAY I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND I BELIEVE THE STEERING PROBLEM PLAYED A ROLE. THE WHEEL WAS JERKING, PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT. WE WERE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT A FASTER SPEED. I DON'T KNOW HOW I ENDED UP BOUNCING OFF THE BACK TIRE OF A SEMI TRUCK IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME, BUT I WAS FIGHTING THE CAR TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AGAIN. NOT ONLY WITH ALL THE "NORMAL" PHYSICAL FORCES, BUT THE CAR STILL WANTED TO GO ITS OWN WAY. OVER COMPENSATING AND FISHTAILING THE WHOLE WAY. APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WOULD COME ON RANDOMLY. AFTER CAR WOULD BE SHUT OFF THE WARNING LIGHT WOULD GO AWAY AFTER I RE-STARTED THE VEHICLE. DID NOT THINK TO MUCH OF IT DUE TO IT BEING WINTER AND THOUGHT THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CAUSING IT. SINCE THE WEATHER HAS CLEARED I NOTICED WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY CRUISE ON ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CRUISE WOULD SHUT OFF AND COULD NOT GET IT TO GO BACK ON, AND AGAIN THE SERVICE TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON UNTIL I SHUT OFF MY CAR. COULD NOT USE MY CRUISE AT ALL. IT WASN'T TILL RECENTLY THAT SOMEONE ON THE ROAD FLAGGED ME DOWN AND SAID THAT WHEN I AM DRIVING THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON AND WHEN I BRAKE THEY WENT OUT. NOT GOOD. TALKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. HAD THAT REPLACED BUT DID NOT EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM FOR A DAY. NEXT DAY THE ENTIRE PROCESS STARTED OVER AND I AM STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES ON WHEN I AM DEPRESSING THE GAS AND GOING OUT WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES. DID SOME RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND MY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!!! ASAP THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I ALSO READ THAT THE BCM HAS FIXED THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME BUT ALSO NEED TO BE RE CALIBRATED AFTER THE PART IT REPLACED. NEXT ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO MY RIGHT HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM WENT OUT AND MY BOYFRIEND TOOK OUT LIGHT AND NOTICED THE WIRES WERE COMPLETELY BURNED OFF FINALLY GOT THAT REPLACED. WHEN I GOT MY CONVERTER REPLACED THEY TOLD ME THE MILEAGE WOULD GET BETTER AND THE GAS SMELL WOULD GO AWAY A YEAR LATER NOW ITS GETTING WORSE AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A FRIEND THAT ITS MY FUEL PUMP AND ITS LEAKING GAS . ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK WITH MY THREE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY AND MY STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE LEFT AND LOCKED UP. WITH FIVE O'CLOCK TRAFFIC, I IMMEDIATELY USED MY BODY WEIGHT TO TRY TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND NOT FLIP THE CAR OVER THE LEDGE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME BEGAN HONKING AND HAVING TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER TO AVOID HITTING ME. I STOPPED AND TURNED OFF THE CAR TO WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE. AS I WAS WAITING, I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON TO KEEP MY DAUGHTER WARM. WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON THE STEERING UNLOCKED AND THE VEHICLE SEEMED OKAY. I DROVE IT TO THE GAS STATION WHICH WAS ABOUT A MILE AWAY. I WAITED FOR MY PARTNER TO ARRIVE SO SHE COULD FOLLOW ME HOME. AS WE STARTED DRIVING HOME, ABOUT A QUARTER MILE DOWN THE ROAD IT LOCKED UP AGAIN. AT THAT POINT WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME. WE ARRIVED HOME, AND I STARTED THE VEHICLE TO FIND THE STEERING UNLOCKED. DROVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK AND IT LOCK UP. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY PARKED, AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
