THE CAR CAN NOT PASS NYS INSPECTION BECAUSE OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND SENSORS THERE ARE HUNDRED OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS ,MY WARRANTY ON CAR DOES NOT COVER IT I HAVE SPOKE TO GM AND THEY SAY I HAVE TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH YOU TO GET A RECALL I HOPING YOU CAN REALLY HELP BECAUSE I HAVE A CAR THAT I OWN JUST A YEAR AND HAVE TO MAKE PAYMENTS FOR 4 MORE YEARS ,THAT I CAN NOT USE OR AFFORD TO FIX ,AND IF PONTIAC HAS MADE RECALLS ON OTHER CARS FOR THIS. *TR
WHEN MAKING TURNS THERE IS A LOUD POP SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. ALSO I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH MY BRAKE LIGHTS COMING ON WHILE THE BRAKE IS NOT COMPRESSED AND GOING OFF WHILE THE BRAKE IS COMPRESSED. IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE DRIVER BEHIND ME DOES NOT KNOW I AM SLOWING DOWN. *TR
WHEN THE CAR IS AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 40MPH AND THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES. THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALSO MAKING A CLICKING NOISE WHEN IT'S TURNED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. ALSO I NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE STAYING ON WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR AND THEN SHUTS OFF AFTER THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED (FOR EXAMPLE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT) THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE THEN BACK ON AGAIN AFTER DRIVING OFF. IN ADDITION I HAVE CONTACTED THE SERVICE PART OF GM REGARDING THE REMOTE START WHICH WAS INSTALLED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THE REMOTE START HAS HAD PROBLEMS SINCE PURCHASE AND I HAVE GONE BACK NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THEM TO FIX IT, TO NO AVAIL. THE CAR STARTS, THEN SHUTS OFF. AFTER THE KEY IS APPLIED TO START THE CAR, WHICH IT DOES, WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE TO PUT THE CAR INTO GEAR. IF THE CAR IS STARTED WITHOUT THE REMOTE START THE GRINDING NOISE IS NOT THERE WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO GEAR.
BRAKES, AND BRAKE ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES. TOO MANY ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS TO MENTION. TODAY, MY WIFE SAID HER POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. IT SCARES ME THAT SHE HAS TO DRIVE MY SON TO SCHOOL IN THIS CAR. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS VEHICLE, AND FOUND NUMEROUS SAFETY ISSUES WITH OTHER OWNERS AS WELL. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR HELP, TO NO AVAIL. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL YET? *TR
DRIVING DURING SNOWY CONDITIONS, I BEGAN TO LOSE CONTROL AND SPIN OUT. I ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT MY STEERING, THEN MY CAR FISH TAILED. I SLID INTO THE DITCH, NEVER USED MY BRAKES. I TOOK OUT A SIGN WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE AND HIT ABOUT 3-4 TREES WITH THE FRONT END. MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THANK GOODNESS NO ONE WAS INJURED, BUT THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE DONE AND HOW MANY THINGS I HIT, SHOCKS ME AS TO WHY MY AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED. *TR
I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO SPEAK TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM AND HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL. I HAVE AN ENGINE OIL LEAK, GAS LEAK, AND I AM NOT ABLE TO TURN MY WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT AS SOMETHING IS AND HAS BEEN GOING ON WITH MY POWERSTEERING. I HAVE PAID FOR REPAIRS BUT HAVE BEEN PUSHED OFF AND GIVEN THE RUN AROUND ABOUT ALL THAT I HAVE SAID. MY CAR IS AND HAS BEEN UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND NOW I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AS IT HAS GOTTEN TERRIBLY WORSE. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT ALL RECALLS WERE DONE (BY THE DEALER), AND OTHER SOURCES HAVE ADVISED ME THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE WITH THE PROBLEMS THAT I AM BEEN HAVING AND THAT I AM CURRENTLY HAVING.
THE POWER STEERING STARTED SHAKING FROM SIDE TO SIDE SORT OF A VIBRATION. THEN LATER IT WOULD JUST QUIT WORKING. WE COULD STILL STEER THE CAR BUT IT HAD NO POWER ASSIST. IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF THE STEERING WORKS FOR AWHILE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO TURN. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE STEERING PUMP HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S STEERING WHEEL RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH WAS REPLACED. THERE WAS CURRENTLY AN OPEN INVESTIGATION UNDER NHTSA ACTION NUMBER RQ13001 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000. UPDATED 4/24/13 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE CRUISE CONTROL, BATTERY, AND REMOTE START ALL HAD FAILURES. ALL WERE REPAIRED EXCEPT THE REMOTE START. I HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC G6. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY BRAKE LIGHTS COMING ON WHILE I AM ACCELERATING AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF WHEN I BRAKE PUTTING ME AT HIGHER RISK FOR AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH HAVING A HARD TIME SHIFTING OUT OF PARK AS WELL AS MY CRUISE CONTROL CUTS OFF RANDOMLY FOR NO REASON AND LASTLY I AM ALSO HAVE A CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT THAT WILL NOT GO OFF. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING WOULD SUDDENLY MALFUNCTION MAKING THE STEERING WHEEL VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V153000 (STEERING). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE PEDAL IN NOT PRESSED AND TURN OFF WHEN PRESSED , I CAN NOT FIND A REPAIR FOR THE PROBLEM THE PEDAL POSITIONING SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME DUE TO THE FACT THAT DRIVERS BEHIND ME RECEIVE NO WARNING OF ME BRAKING. *TR
ON THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT, THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, AT AROUND 2:35 AM, ON A RURAL ROAD. THE DRIVER SWERVED TO MISS A DEER, AND THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL PERFORMED AS DESIGNED ON THE INITIAL SWERVE. WHEN THE DRIVER BEGAN TO CORRECT THE VEHICLE THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL OFF SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD, THE ESC OFF DISPLAYED ON THE RADIO, AND A WARNING CHIME WAS HEARD. DUE TO THE SYSTEM TURNING OFF UNEXPECTEDLY FOR AN UNAPPARENT REASON, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN A CRASH. THE DRIVER SUFFERED A MID-BACK INJURY AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE DRIVER'S INSURANCE COMPANY. PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT STATED ABOVE OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL MONTHS, THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD RANDOMLY STOP WORKING, WITH THE SERVICE TCS MESSAGE DISPLAYED AND THE TCS OFF INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD.. THE VEHICLE WOULD BEGIN TO BEHAVE AS IF THE TCS WAS LIMITING WHEEL SPIN INCLUDING: REDUCING ENGINE POWER AND APPLYING THE BRAKES. WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TURNED OFF FOR TEN SECONDS AND THEN RESTARTED, THE SYSTEM WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE THE TCS OFF LIGHT, AND THE SERVICE TCS MESSAGE WOULD NOT BE DISPLAYED. WHEN TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED THAT, AFTER LOOKING AT THE COMPONENTS FOR THE TCS SYSTEM, THE COMPONENTS DID NOT SHOW ANY ISSUES THAT WOULD MAKE THE TCS MALFUNCTION. VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED. VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT IN APRIL 2012 WITH NO KNOWN ISSUES. *TR
IN NOV. 2012 COOLANT BEGAN TO LEAK FROM CRACKED RADIATOR. REPLACED ORIGINAL RADIATOR WITH NEW AFTERMARKET RADIATOR. IN FEB. 2013 COOLANT BEGAN SLOW LEAK FROM RADIATOR CRACK AND HAD REPLACED AGAIN WITH NEW AFTERMARKET RADIATOR. IN MAY2013 COOLANT BEGAN LEAKING FROM RADIATOR, REPLACED WITH NEW AFTERMARKET RADIATOR IN JUNE 2013. *TR
THE CAR HAS BEEN LEAKING ENGINE OIL AND GAS FROM THE BEGINNING AND I HAVE GOTTEN NO RESPONSE, FEEDBACK. ALL I HAVE BEEN GIVEN WAS A CONSTANT REPAIR LIST MOST OF WICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR CHECKED BY SEVERAL MECHANICS AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME FROM THE BEGINNING THAT MY ENGINE IS LEAKING POSSIBLE GASKETS AND LEAK SOMEWHERE IN FUEL PUMP. RHODES AUTO SALES AS WELL AS GM HAS GIVEN ME A RUN FOR MY LIFE. UNTIL RECENTLY HAVE A FRIEND GAVE ME A CARFAX ON THIS CAR THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SOLD AND BEING TOLD HOW DANGEROUS IT'S BEEN FOR ME TO DRIVE THIS CAR. NOT SURE OF THE EXACT PURCHASE DATE BUT THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SINCE THE BEGINNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRONG GASOLINE FUEL ODOR AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT A FUEL HOSE THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
I NOTICED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON WHEN THE BRAKES ARE NOT ENGAGED AND WHEN I PRESS DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. ONCE I DEPRESS THE PEDAL THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL GO ON AGAIN. THIS WILL HAPPEN ON RANDOM OCCASIONS, SOMETIMES THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK FINE AND THEN SOMETIMES THEY MALFUNCTION. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT SOMETIMES THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE WHILE OTHER TIMES IT WILL. THERE HAVE BEEN TWO OCCASIONS WHERE THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS, INCLUDING THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT, APPEAR TO BE ILLUMINATING WHEN THE BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED AND NOT ILLUMINATING WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED. THEY APPEAR TO BE WORKING OPPOSITE THAN INTENDED. ALSO, CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGES INTERMITTENTLY AND CANNOT BE RESET UNTIL AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND STARTED AGAIN. I HAVE REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS FOR BOTH HEADLAMPS BECAUSE THE CONNECTORS OVERHEATED AND CAUSED HEADLAMPS TO FAIL. THE BRAKE LIGHT MAY CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND WILL MOST CERTAINLY CAUSE ME TO FAIL THE STATE INSPECTION. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY A FURTHER RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED OTHER THAN THE 2005 MODELS. OBVIOUSLY THE PROBLEM IS ACROSS THE ENTIRE PRODUCT LINE OF G6'S. *TR
POWER STEERING LOCKS UP. LOCKS UP NO MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE GOING. FOUND THAT THEY REPLACED THIS FOR THE 05,06, 08 YEARS BUT NOT 07? REALLY? APPARENTLY IT IS STILL A DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED BY PONTIAC. I VIEWED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND PONTIAC DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE 2007. NOT SURE HOW THEY ARE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WILL GO OUT AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. MUST REPLACE OR DON'T DRIVE. I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER MAKES OF CARS BEFORE AND THEY HAVE REPAIRED THEM IF THERE WAS A RECALL. THIS IS MY FIRST NEW PONTIAC THAT THEY REFUSE TO RECALL. NEXT NEW CAR WILL NOT BE PONTIAC. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS AND BULB WAS REPLACED PREVIOUSLY BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR AN INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I WAS GETTING INTO MY CAR TO DRIVE HOME AND WHEN I PUT THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION AND TURNED THE CAR ON, I NOTICED THAT MY REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO DOUBLE CHECK IF THEY WERE REALLY ON OR NOT. I THEN GOT BACK INTO THE CAR AND I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF. EVER SINCE THEN, THE CAR GOES BACK AND FORTH WITH THIS PROBLEM. WHEN I AM DRIVING, THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AS I ACCELERATE AND THEN WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE LIGHTS WILL COME OFF. *TR
VEHICLES BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ON WHEN BRAKES ARE NOT BEING APPLIED. THIS ISSUE IS ON GOING FOR OVER A YEAR AND HAVE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED BY THREE DIFFERENT SHOPS EVEN A GM DEALER WITH ALL SAYING THEY CAN NOT FIND AN ISSUE. LEAKING GAS FROM TOP OF GAS TANK ON TO A HOT MUFFLER. AFTER REVIEWING INFO THERE ARE OVER 300 SIMILAR ISSUES ON THESE CARS! WHY AND GM ISSUED RECALLS ON ALL OTHER MODELS WITH THE SAME FUEL TANK DESIGNS? PLEASE HELP THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND SMOKE STARTED TO EMIT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER BELIEVED THAT THE POWER STEERING HAD FAILED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE WITHIN THE PAST TWO YEARS. THE MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS NORMAL FOR WHEEL BEARING TO FAIL WITH ONE YEAR. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,056.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS STOPPED ILLUMINATING. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BULBS BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THAT WHENEVER I DRIVE, MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY ON. THEN, WHEN I STEP ON MY BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. BECAUSE OF THIS, MY CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT WORKING. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE FOR DRIVERS FOLLOWING ME, ESPECIALLY IF I WOULD HAPPEN TO COME TO A QUICK STOP IF THERE WERE TO BE AN EMERGENCY. I HAVE LOOKED UP WAYS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ONLINE, AND ONE OF THE SOLUTIONS WAS TO APPLY A SPECIAL LUBRICANT TO AN ELECTRICAL PLUG. THIS SOLUTION WORKED FOR AWHILE, BUT NOW IT IS NOT WORKING ANYMORE. PLEASE SEND OUT A RECALL OR SOMETHING TO GET THIS FIXED! I SEE G6'S ALL THE TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING WITH THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM, AND I HAVE READ ABOUT A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM ONLINE. THERE IS A FUEL LEAK THAT IS COMING FROM THE TANK AND FLOWS ONTO THE REAR EXHAUST SYSTEM. AFTER REMOVAL OF THE TANK, AFTER GM CARE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO, OUT OF WARRANTY. I FOUND OUT THAT IT MIGH BE LEAKING FROM THE ORING BETWEEN THE FUEL PUMP AND TANK. WHILE WAITING FOR THE PARTS TO ARRIVE LATER THIS WEEK (ORING AND LOCKING CAM), I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SEEN NUMEROUS POST AND A HIGH FAILURE RATE OF A PLASTIC GAS THAT SUPPLIES FUEL TO THE ENGINE, SO I AM ASSUMING THAT THIS COULD BE CULPRIT AND A DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE PROBLEM SINCE TO REPLACE THIS YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED TO GM AS A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD AND A RECALL IN PLACE TO SAVE LIVES!! *TR

WHY WAS THE 2007 G6 NOT INCLUDED IN THE NEW RECALL BY GM FOR SEVERAL MODELS INCLUDING THE 2007 PONTIAC G5 FOR A SERIOUS FUEL LEAK PROBLEM? THE G6 HAS THE SAME FUEL TANK AND LINE THAT IS CRACKING IN THE VEHICLES RECALLED AND OUR G6 SMELLS OF GASOLINE SO BAD WE CANNOT PARK IT IN THE GARAGE AND FUEL CONSTANTLY IS DRIPPING FROM THE TANK. SEVERAL FORUMS LIST THIS PROBLEM AND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS WITH THE G6 YEAR 2007 AND UP. MY SON NOTICED A SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM HIS CAR. WHEN I WENT OUT TO LOOK AT IT I COULD SMELL IT ALSO. IT SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR BUT I COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING AND IT SEEMED TO DISSIPATE AS TIME WENT ON THAT EVENING. I JUST ASSUMED IT CAME FROM THE FILLER TUBE SOMEHOW MAYBE AFTER A TURN. THE NEXT DAY WHEN HE GOT HOME FROM WORK I WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY WHEN HE PULLED IN AND THE SMELL WAS VERY STRONG AND STILL SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM THE REAR AREA OF THE CAR. WE JACKED BOTH SIDES OF THE REAR UP AND THAT?S WHEN WE SAW GAS RUN OUT OF THE PROTECTIVE PLATE THAT SURROUNDS THE BOTTOM OF THE GAS TANK. FURTHER INSPECTION REVEALED THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM A PLASTIC ELBOW THAT COMES OUT OF THE FUEL PUMP THAT FEEDS GAS TO THE ENGINE. YOU COULD ALSO SEE WHERE THE FUEL HAD BEEN SPRAYING ON THE MUFFLER WHICH IS LOCATED BEHIND THE GAS TANK ASSEMBLY. THIS VERY EASILY COULD A SERIOUS FIRE IF WE HAD NOT LOCATED THIS AS QUICKLY AS WE DID. I AM TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS THE SAME FUEL PUMP DESIGN AS THE 2007 G5 THAT HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THAT PLASTIC ELBOW CRACKING AND SPRAYING FUEL. BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T ILLUMINATE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE. ALSO THEY ILLUMINATE WHEN IN PARK OR WHEN PRESSING THE GAS. WE JUST BOUGHT THE CAR ON SATURDAY (9/15/12) AND MY HUSBAND NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. SO WHEN WE GOT HOME, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP.
