I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2008 PONTIAC G6 BASE MODEL 4 DOOR 2.4L. AT LESS THAN 20,000 MILES I STARTED GETTING BRAKE PROBLEMS. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED THE BRAKES TURNED AND GRINNED. I REFUSED TO LET THEM DO THAT BECAUSE OTHER PONTIAC G6 OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES AND WHEN THEY GOT THEIRS TURNED AND GRINNED THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES OCCURRED THEREAFTER. NOW (@24,000) I HAVE WARPED BRAKES, WORN OUT PADS, AND A DEFECTIVE WORN OUT I-SHAFT(STEERING ROD). I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK, THEY REPLACED ONE OF THE ROTORS IN THE REAR, REPLACED ALL PADS AND GRINNED AND TURNED THE REST OF THE ROTORS. THEY CLAIMED MY CAR WAS FIXED BUT THE SECOND I DROVE OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP THE SAME WARPING NOISE WAS APPARENT COMING FROM THE BRAKES WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES AND ALSO WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. I WAS STILL HEARING THE CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT MANY AMERICANS AROUND ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THEIR BRAKES AND I-SHAFT. THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN BECAUSE LAST WEEK AT ONE POINT WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES MY CAR WAS NOT STOPPING. I KEPT HITTING IT AND FINALLY IT GAVE IN. THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAIL TO OPERATE CORRECTLY CAUSING THEM TO GO ON WITHOUT BRAKING AND ARE OFTEN NOT ILLUMINATED WHILE BRAKING. THE BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE ALSO CAUSES THE STABILITY CONTROL TO SHUT OFF. *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THEY ARE TYPICALLY ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT DEPRESSED, AND TURN OFF WHEN IT IS. SOMETIMES IF I'M PARKED, AND I PUSH REALLY HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THEY WILL COME ON AND GO OFF WHEN I LET UP (AS THEY SHOULD). HOWEVER, AFTER SOME TIME, THEY REVERT BACK TO WORKING OPPOSITE FROM HOW THEY SHOULD. I'VE HAD THE CAR SINCE 2008 AND DISCOVERED THIS ABOUT 2 YEARS AFTER I HAD IT WHEN A FRIEND WAS FOLLOWING ME. AT THE TIME, I FOUND THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM FOR EARLIER MODELS OF THIS CAR, BUT THERE WAS/IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME FOR MORE RECENT MODELS. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE OCCASIONALLY HAD THE PROBLEM OF THE CAR BEING DIFFICULT TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I'VE FOUND THAT IF THIS HAPPENS, I CAN SHIFT WHEN I PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR.
BRAKE LIGHT REMAIN ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN PRESS ON BRAKE, BRAKE LIGHT GOES OUT. SOMEONE CAN EASILY HIT ME IN THE BACK DUE TO BRAKE LIGHT MALFUNCTION. THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON ENTIRE TIME DRIVING DOWN ROAD. I REPLACED BRAKE SENSOR AND IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
WE HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC G6 CONVERTIBLE. I WAS FOLLOWING MY SPOUSE HOME AND NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON WHEN HE WAS DRIVING BUT THEY WENT OFF EVERY TIME HE BRAKED TO TURN A CORNER, STOP AT A LIGHT, OR SLOW DOWN WHEN BEHIND ANOTHER CAR. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR ONLY 2005 - 2006 PONTIAC G6 WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT NONE FOR 2007 OWNERS. IT'S OBVIOUS THE 2007 PONTIAC G6 OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WHICH GM NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX (FOR FREE.) *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE FLICKERING AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT AND ALL LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHOP WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED ON ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,642.
POWER STEERING NO PLACE TO PUT FLUID IN VEHICLE WENT OUT HAVE NO CONTROL OF VEHICLE. PONTIAC G6 2007 VERY SCARY NO CONTROL OF VEHICLE CALLED PONTIAC TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL OR WHERE DO I PUT FLUID FOR STEERING IN AT THEY SAID IT IS ELECTRONICALLY STEERING GOD BLESS PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW THIS INFO AND THEY ARE DRIVING AND THAT HAPPENS ANGELS WERE WITH ME.. COGGIN PONTIAC SAID IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AT 58,103 MILES 3 YRS OLD WOW .VERY SCARY WHEN YOU GET IN YOUR VEHICLE YOU PRAY AND HOPE IT DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO I STARTED CRYING CAUSE I HAD NO CONTROL THANK GOD I WAS NOT GOING FAST AND NO VEHICLES WERE AROUND. *TR
I TURNED INTO A GAS STATION AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP ON MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 4 CYLINDER ON OCT 26 2010. THE STEERING WAS REPLACED AFTER WE USED WHAT LITTLE WE HAD IN SAVINGS. BELIEVING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED I DROVE IT 15 MILES INTO TOWN AND THE STEERING LOCKS UP AGAIN. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX IT AND IT HAS SAT IN THE SHOP FOR TWO WEEKS. WE WERE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WHEN WE LOOKED ON LINE AND SAW THERE WERE SO MANY OTHERS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THEIR G6 CARS. SURELY THIS IS A RECALL. 10/5/10 I WAS GOING TO HAVE WORK DONE ON MY PONTIAC G6 2007 BASE MODEL, I WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND MY CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING ANOTHER VEHICLE AND SAW THAT MY BRAKE LIGHT WERE ON WHILE DRIVING AND NOT WHEN STOP. ON 10/06/10 I WENT TO A GM DEALER AND HAD SENSOR REPAIR AND BRAKES RECALIBRATED. TONIGHT 10/22/10 AT 9:05PM I WAS PULLED OVER BY AND OFFICER WHO STATED HE SAW MY BRAKES WERE ON WHILE DRIVING AND NOT WHEN STOPPING. I WANTED TO BE REFUNDED FOR WHAT I PAY TO FIX IT AND HAVE GM FIXED IT FREE OF CHARGE..BECAUSE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE I WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MONDAY MORNING AND BE CHARGED AGAIN....SOMEONE NEEDS TO CONTACT ME AND I WANTED REFUNDS FOR ME HAVING TO TAKE IT TWICE TO GET FIX, REFUND ME FOR BOTH.... *TR
HAVE OWNED VEHICLE SINCE OCT. 2008. APPROX 1YR AGO IN 2009, STARTED TO EXPERIENCE AIRBAG PROBLEMS. ADULT PERSON OF SUFFICIENT WEIGHT WILL SIT IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. AT RANDOM POINTS OF CAR RIDE, PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR WILL SHOW "OFF" AND CAR WILL CHIME WHILE DISPLAYING MESSAGE "AIRBAG OFF" EVEN THOUGH A PERSON IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. ALSO, RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING "SERVICE AIRBAG" WILL SHOW ON DASH AND INDICATOR LIGHT WILL SHOW "ON" WHEN SEAT IS NOT OCCUPIED. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD VIN IS NOT INCLUDED ON AIRBAG RECALL NHTSA # 07V146000 DESPITE EXPERIENCING THOSE ISSUES. *TR
MY DAUGHTER PURCHASED A 2007 PONTIAC G6 WITH 24,000 MILES ON IT AND IT NOW HAS 39,000 MILES. SOMETIME WITHIN THOSE 13,000 MILES IT HAS DEVELOPED A CLUNKING NOISE WHENEVER THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED MOST NOTICEABLY AT LOW SPEEDS. I HAVE PINPOINTED THE NOISE TO BE COMING FROM THE STEERING BOX OR STEERING SHAFT. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS WILL LEAD TO STEERING CONTROL FAILURE IF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT CORRECTED SOON. I AM AWARE THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE HAVE GM ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS YEAR MODEL PONTIAC G6 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR
I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING POWER STEERING WARNINGS ON MY DASH SO I COULD MY CAR TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR WITH COLUMN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST WOULD 1200.00. WHY ISN'T A RECALL ON THE 2007 G6 BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT 2006 HAS? I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO BECAUSE I'M ON A FIXED INCOME AND CAN'T AFFORD THAT. AGAIN I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THERE IS NOT A RECALL? I HAVE A PONTIAC 2007 G6 THE OTHER DAY WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP AND I WENT INTO A VERY SWALLOW DITCH. I WAS NOT HURT AND THE CAR WAS NOT DAMAGED, HOWEVER IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CANAL ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD I WOULD HAVE BEEN KILL. ALL MY FLUIDS ARE CHECK AND CHANGE ON A REGULAR BASIS AND THERE ARE NO LEAKS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURE ERROR AND NEEDS TO BE LOOK AND THIS WILL BE A VERY EXPENSIVE FIX AND I AM NOT FIXING IT MY SELF. NOR AM I GOING TO PAY TO HAVE FIX WHEN THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD PAY TO FIX IT . THERE SHOULD NEVER BE A PROBLEM WITH A VEHICLE WHILE IT IS IN MOTION AT ANY TIME NO MATTER WHAT YEAR OR MAKE !! THIS WAS THE FIRST OCCURRENCE OF STEERING PROBLEMS - A THUMPING NOISE WHEN TURNING LEFT AND ACCELERATING - INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT, IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. ON 07-18-2012. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR WHEN I FELT IT WOULD NOT PROPERLY TURN- HAD TO FORCE STEERING WHEEL. ON 07-19-2012 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MAKE A 130 DEGREE RIGHT TURN. SHE WOUND UP IN THE OPPOSING LANE OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED THE NEXT DAY, THE STEERING RACK GEAR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS VEHICLE HAD ONLY 39,002 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE CAR WAS NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS VERY WELL MAINTAINED. I TALKED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT GENERAL MOTORS, PONTIAC DIVISION BECAUSE I FEEL THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. I ASKED FOR SOME REIMBURSEMENT, WHICH THEY REFUSED, BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO GET THIS REPORTED. I HOPE THIS GETS LOOKED INTO AND PERHAPS A LIFE SAVED. THANK YOU *TR
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN MULTIPLE FAILURES WITH THE REPAIRS FROM THE AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD WITH A DAMAGED TIRE. A BOLT WAS IN THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE TIRE AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THERE WAS A CRACKED RIM ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT WAITED TWO WEEKS FOR AN INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE TO NO AVAIL. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WITH THE BOLT STILL IN THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP WHICH WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT HAD THE POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED TWICE BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE SUNROOF HAD A LEAKED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THE SUNROOF WAS REPAIRED AND UPON INSPECTION BY ANOTHER DEALER IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO LINING ON THE SUNROOF AND A WRENCH WAS STUCK IN THE TOP OF THE SUNROOF FRAMING. THE LEAK HAD DAMAGED THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTION OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT AND EXTENSIVE MOLD WAS ON ALL OF THE SEATBELTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INDICATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS TO BE INCLUDED IN RECALLS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SENT OUT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE NOTICES WOULD BE SENT. THE MULTIPLE FAILURES HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000. DYD

PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE, CAR IS HARD TO HOLD ON THE ROAD BECAUSE POWER STEERING SHACKS FROM SIDE TO SIDE NOW AT 75,000 MILES POWER STEERING GOES OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. EARLIER MODELS WERE RECALLED. DO WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE IS IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I COMPLETELY LOST STEERING CAPABILITIES. FORTUNATELY, I WAS IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE SO I VEERED INTO THE DITCH IN MY YARD. HAD THIS OCCURRED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY/ROAD IT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50-55 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN BEEPING ABNORMALLY. THE FAILURE PERSISTED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER ADVISED HAVING A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,720 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,790.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THE POWER WINDOWS WOULD OPEN AND CLOSE INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT BEING ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,200.
OUR 2007 G6 HAS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT RESULTS IN THE BRAKE LIGHTS BEING ON WHEN THE BRAKES ARE NOT APPLIED AND OFF WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES. WE HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED CRUISE CONTROL DROP OUT AT SPEED SEVERAL TIMES AS WELL AS DIFFICULTIES SHIFTING INTO DRIVE UNLESS EXTREME PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. ALL THREE OF THESE CONCERNS LINE UP WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V036000 HOWEVER OUR VEHICLE WAS BUILT AFTER THE RECALL PERIOD. GM HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE CONCERN BUT REPORTS THAT THERE ARE NOT RECALL NOTICES OR SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THIS VEHICLE. ALL THREE SYMPTOMS INDICATE THAT THE RECALLED CONNECTOR SITED IN 09V03600 CONTINUES TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN FOR VEHICLES MANUFACTURED AFTER THE RECALL PERIOD OF 2005-2006. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,535.

THIS IS A INHALATION HAZARD AND FIRE HAZARD TO ANY ONE USING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I LOWERED THE GAS TANK ON MY CAR THE LINE WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN.
