BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE I AM DRIVING BUT GO OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. THEN BRAKE LIGHTS TURN BACK ON AFTER ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS. *TR
I FINANCED THIS USED CAR IN 2010 AT 27,000 MILES. SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS CAR I HAVE NOT HAD THE CHANCE TO REALLY ENJOY IT BECAUSE I AM CONSTANTLY FIXING ON IT. I AVE HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS. I HAVE REPLACED BRAKES 2X ONCE WITH ROTORS AND THEY ARE GOIN OUT AGAIN INCLUDING ROTORS. I AM CONSTANTLY REPLACING TIRES. MY STEERING WHEEL POPS WHEN TURNING AND I HAVE HAD THIS FIXED ONCE. TRACTION GONE. HAD HEAT/AIR ON AND SMOKE SMELLING LIKE A FIRECRACKER CAME FROM PASSENGER DASHBOARD. MY BIGGEST PROBLEM RIGHT NOW IS THAT I HAD THE WHOLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM REPLACED AND NOW I AM CONSTANTLY REPLACING THE LUGS ON MY FRONT LEFT TIRE BECAUSE THE CONSTANTLY POP OFF. BRAKE LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS CONSTANTLY GOES OUT. AIR BAG, ENGINE, AND TRACTION LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF (SOMETIMES STAYING ON). POWER IN DRIVER DOOR GONE OUT FOR WINDOWS RESULTING IN 3 WINDOWS UNABLE TO ROLL UP/DOWN BUT WILL WORK WHEN WANTS. ONLY ONE WILL GO DOWN USING ITS OWN PANEL. REPLACED A CRACK IN LCA. REMOTE STARTER GONE OUT. CAR WHEEL SHAKES OCCASIONALLY. INTERIOR LIGHTS DOESN'T WORK EXCEPT FRONT DASHBOARD BUT MINUS WHERE GEAR SHAFT AT (WENT OUT AFTER SMOKE FROM DASHBOARD). NEEDS STRUTS TO BE REPLACED. ALSO JERKS WITH A HUGE POP THAT YOU CAN FEEL WHEN PUTTING CAR IN GEAR. WHEN ACCELERATING YOU CAN FEEL IT SHIFT GEARS. I AM CURRENTLY ONLY AT ABOUT 83000 MILES. NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. SCARED SERIOUS ACCIDENT MAY HAPPEN BECAUSE OF THE LUGS CONSTANTLY POPPIN OFF. WE DON'T KNOW WHY. I CALLED PONTIAC AND GM AND NO RECALLS ON THIS CAR EXCEPT POWER-TRAIN AND WARRANTY FOR TRANS AND NONE OF THIS WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY OR THEM PERIOD. TIRED OF THIS CAR SO TIRED!! BOUGHT BRAND NEW 2007 PONTIAC G6 IN SEPTEMBER OF 2007. CALLED DEALERSHIP COMPLAINT OF BRAKES SQUEALING AROUND AUGUST 2009. DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS DUE TO METALLIC BRAKES PADS AND THAT IT WAS NORMAL FOR BRAKES TO SQUEAL. JUNE 2010 OUT DRIVING NOTICED STEERING COLUMN SHAKES AT HIGH SPEEDS WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND CAR WAS HARD TO STOP. STOPPED AT NEAREST GM DEALERSHIP SHORTLY AFTER. THEY STATED IT WAS DUE TO ME STOPPING TO HARD ON THE BRAKES OVER TIME AND THE ROTORS HAVE WARPED DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE HEAT. NOTICED CAR IS STILL HARD TO STOP AT REGULAR DRIVING SPEEDS NOW. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT TO INSPECT AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY FAULT AGAIN AND ALSO IT WASN'T COVERED THROUGH MY WARRANTY DUE IT BEING NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THEY DIDN'T EVEN INSPECT IT.THE CAR ONLY HAS 24,000 MILES ON IT NOW. IT'S STILL HARD TO STOP AND SHAKES HORRIBLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN AT HIGH SPEEDS. CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY, MY CHILD'S SAFETY, AND OTHER DRIVERS SAFETY. *TR

WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 15-20 MPH THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHICH RESULTED TO EXTREME DIFFICULTY IN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO THE DRIVEWAY WITH CAUTION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I BOUGHT MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 FEB. 2007. JUST ABOUT A WEEK AGO (JUNE 2, 2010) I WAS TOLD MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON WHEN I WASN'T BRAKING. WHEN I DO BRAKE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE BRAKE SWITCH. WELL, IT'S NOT. I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND I NEED TO TAKE IT BACK TO GET IT FIXED. THIS IS DANGEROUS TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM FOR ALL 2007 PONTIAC G6'S. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AS THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR TO A MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
FOR THE THIRD TIME SINCE I HAVE HAD THE CAR, MY POWER STEERING LINE BROKE WHILE TURNING YESTERDAY. UNDER THE HOOD FILLED WITH SMOKE AND POWER STEERING FLUID STARTED LEAKING UNDER THE CAR. EACH TIME I HAVE HAD TO HAVE NEW COILS AND RACK AND PINIONS REPLACED. THIS IS UNSAFE, DANGEROUS AND FRUSTRATING AND OF COURSE GM DOESN'T CARE...GO FIGURE! *TR UPDATED 6/13/13 *CN
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 GT SEDAN I HAD SOMEONE FLAG MY ATTENTION. HE SAID THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND SHUT OFF WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY BRAKING AT A STOP LIGHT. ALSO, THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NO LONGER IN OPERATION DURING THIS PERIOD OF TIME. I HAD THE BRAKE SWITCH REPLACED ON MY CAR. THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED AT RANDOM. I HAVE ALSO BEEN STUCK IN A FEW PARKING LOTS NOT BEING ABLE TO SHIFT MY CAR OUT OF PARK. I HAD TO RE START MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES AND WAIT FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD BEFORE THE CAR WAS ABLE TO SHIFT TO REVERSE SO I COULD LEAVE. I WAS ALONE IN THE DARK ON A SNOWY NIGHT FOR 30 MINUTES IN A DESERTED PARKING LOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. THE BRAKE LIGHT MALFUNCTION COMES AND GOES THROUGHOUT THE YEARS SUBSIDING FOR A SHORT PERIODS OF TIME BUT THEN RETURNS AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. THIS SPRING, THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED NON-STOP AND I HAVE AGAIN, BEEN FLAGGED DOWN BY 3 OTHER DRIVERS TO INFORM ME OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS BEING ON WHILE DRIVING AND GOING OFF WHEN ACTUALLY BRAKING. I HAVE ALSO BEEN FOLLOWED TOO CLOSE BY MANY DRIVERS AND CUT OFF IN TRAFFIC SEVERAL TIMES. THE PROBLEM WITH THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF AT THE WRONG TIMES HAS BEEN CAUSING THIS TYPE OF ROAD RAGE TO BE AIMED AT ME AND I FEEL IT IS PUTTING ME AND MY PASSENGERS IN DANGER. IN ADDITION, I AM UNABLE TO USE MY CRUISE CONTROL ON THE CAR DUE TO THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS MALFUNCTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT WAS EXITING THE DRIVEWAY AT SPEEDS OF 10 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED HEAD-ON WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING AND GO OFF WHEN STOPPING. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS FROM BEHIND. OTHER DRIVERS HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS AND I LET THEM KNOW I KNOW. IT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT TWICE AT A DELAERSHIP AND "FIXED" BUT THEN BEGINS AGAIN WITHIN THE WEEK. I DO NOT WANT TO GET KILLED DUE TO THIS FAULTY SYSTEM BUT DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. *TR
AGAIN, I BOUGHT THIS CAR BACK IN 2009 AND THE FRONT END WAS MAKING CLUNKING SOUNDS IN THE FRONT END AT SLOW SPEEDS. ALSO, EVERY SLIGHT BUMP IN THE ROAD SEEMS LIKE I'M DRIVING DOWN A WAR ZONE. I UNDERSTAND THESE ARE LOW PROFILE TIRES AND THE RIDE ISN'T LIKE A CADILLAC, HOWEVER, THE FRONT END ON THESE CARS ARE NOT WELL BUILT. FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT, THE SOUNDS MAKE ME FEEL UNEASY AS IF THE TIRES ARE ABOUT TO FALL OFF FROM ALL THE CLUNKING, POPPING AND OTHER SOUNDS! THIS IS ALSO TRUE IN MANY OTHER GM MODELS, AS WELL. IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE? OR NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT? WHEN I TRADE THIS IN, I WON'T BE BUYING ANOTHER GM PRODUCT, THAT'S FOR SURE!
AT LOW SPEEDS THE STEERING COLUMN MAKES A CLUNK/POP/SQUEAK SOUND. THE CAR HAS BEEN CHECKED FOR THIS TWICE AND IT STILL DOES IT. IT HAS MADE THE SOUND SINCE RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW. EVERY TIME GREASE IS PUT ON THE COLUMN IT IS FINE FOR A FEW DAYS THEN THE ISSUE COMES BACK. SOMETIMES YOU CAN FEEL A SLIGHT BUMP IN THE WHEEL WHEN IT IS HAPPENING. *TR
2007 PONTIAC G6 GT- ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. APPROX. 3 TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR MY BATTERY HAS BEEN DRAINED BECAUSE THE RADIO FAILED TO TURN OFF AFTER THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND THE KEY REMOVED. I HAVE NOW REPLACED THE BATTERY,. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE AMONG THE VEHICLE BUT IT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY WHILE MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AT NIGHT WHEN THE RADIO SYSTEM VOLUME FAILED TO FUNCTION WITH THE HEADLIGHTS OR PARKING LIGHTS ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DETECT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR. THE RADIO SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, AFTER THE SERVICE REPAIR THE REAR PASSENGER BRAKE LIGHT AND REAR RIGHT TURN SIGNAL FAILED TO OPERATE. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTIONS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,300.

THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THERE WAS RECALL FOR THE FAILURE BUT NOT FOR HIS VIN. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.

SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 22,000 MILES ON IT THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES A POP/ KNOCK SOUND WHEN PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT OR DRIVING SLOW. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY FELT STIFF. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND SHUT OFF THE IGNITION. UPON RESTART, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT ANY SPEED; DURING SOME OF THE FAILURES, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
I HAVE A 2007 PONITAC G6 GT AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME AND GO OUT WHEN YOU PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR 2005 AND 2006 PONTIAC G6'S BUT MINE IS A 2007 AND DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL BUT I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILURE MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 4 CYLINDER HAS ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. THE ALERT WILL CHIME,THE RADIO READOUT WILL FLASH POWER STEERING,AND THE POWER STEERING MOTOR WILL SHUT DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ,INCLUDING EXITING THE INTERSTATE APPROACHING AN EXIT RAMP. I CAN RE ENGAGE THE POWER STEERING, BY SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE,WAITING A FEW SECONDS AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE.THE ABILITY TO RESET THE POWER STEERING LEADS ME TO BELIEVE,THIS IS A DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE RESOLVED BY THE MANUFACTURER BY A RE-CALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WOULD CONTINUOUSLY FAIL WHEN PULLING INTO A RESIDENTIAL PARKING SPACE OR PULLING OUT OF A TIGHT SPOT AT LOW SPEED. THE POWER STEERING WOULD THEN RESET ITSELF ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. THE DEALER RECALIBRATED THE POWER STEERING MOTOR ASSEMBLY AND ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING MOTOR ASSIST WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED IF THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,500.
MY 2007 G6 LOST STEERING YESTERDAY AND I SLAMMED MY BRAKES AND SKID ACROSS FOUR LANES. LUCKILY IT WAS NIGHT AND THERE WERE NO CARS . I TURNED MY CAR OF AT THE GAS STATION THEN BACK ON AND THE STEERING RETURNED. THEN TODAY I SAW THE RECALL FOR GM BUT THE PONTIAC G6 IS NOT ON THERE . I OWN A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT STOPPED ILLUMINATING. I REPLACED THE BULB MYSELF. APPROXIMATELY TWO DAYS LATER THE HEADLIGHT FAILED. I NOTICED THAT THE CONNECTOR HAD MELTED. I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I CHECKED OTHER WEBSITES AND HAVE FOUND OTHER PONTIAC G6 OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. ONE YEAR AGO THE PASSENGER SIDE CONNECTOR CABLE HAD MELTED. I RE-CONNECTED THE CABLE MYSELF. I HAVE NOT HAD PROBLEMS WITH THAT SIDE YET. WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. PLEASE HELP! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR TO SCHOOL AND WORK. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 I HEARD A DING, DING, DING AND MY POWER STEERING WENT DEAD. I'M A VERY BIG MAN AND COULD HARDLY CONTROL THE CAR. PASSENGER RIGHT FRONT AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON. COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS INDICATES FAULTY AIR BAG SENSING SYSTEM. RECALL ISSUED ID# 07V146000 BUT DOES NOT COVER 2007 PONTIAC G6. GM REFUSES TO FIX AT NO COST BECAUSE VEHICLE IS BEYOND WARRANTY. *TR
STEERING ASSIST MOTOR SHORTED RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING. COULD HAVE RESULTED IN ACCIDENT IF I HAD BEEN IN A CURVE OR TURNING. I HAVE REPAIRED IT, BUT GM IS NOT RESPONDING TO REQUESTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT DUE TO WARRANTY BEING UP. CAR HAS APPROX 40,000 MILES. CAR HAS ALSO HAD LEAK IN THE FUEL RAIL AT 25,967 MILES AND A FUEL PUMP SHORT AT 1,548 MILES. *TR
THE POWER STEERING LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE RADIO FOR 10 MILES AND THEN WAS GONE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING LOCKED AND THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE POWER STEERING REMAINED INOPERABLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WILL BE DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
BRAKE LIGHTS ON WHEN BRAKES AREN'T PRESSED, AND GO OFF WHEN PRESSED. CRUISE DISENGAGES WHILE DRIVING. BRAKE SWITCH AND RELAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. APPEARS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. *TR

I HAVE AN 07 G6 THAT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH BRAKE LIGHTS, CRUISE, AND SHIFTING OUT OF PARK THAT THE 05-06 G6'S ARE. WE'VE HAD THE BRAKE SWITCH CHANGED TWICE AND IT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM. EVEN WITH THE BRAKE SWITCH UNPLUGGED THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED TO CHECK THE POWER STEERING AND THEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, RENDERING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE POWER STEERING WOULD FUNCTION NORMALLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THREE TIMES. THE ELECTRONIC STEERING, MOTOR MODULE ASSEMBLY AND THE IMMEDIATE SHAFT REPAIR COSTS WAS $1029. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,593 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,776.
ELECTRICAL, STEERING, ABS- I'VE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR, I HEARD A THUMP WHEN TURNING. NO ONE COULD FIND THE PROBLEM. NOW ITS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY FOUND THAT IT WAS THE I SHAFT. IN JANUARY OF 2010, MY ANTI LOCK BREAK LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD TO REPLACE A WHEEL BEARING- $500 LATER, I THOUGHT I WAS SET. I WAS WRONG, ANOTHER SIX MONTHS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ANOTHER LIGHT CAME ON. A LOCAL GM DEALER REPLACED THE ECM CONTROL AND CLEANED THE FUEL INJECTORS AND SENT ME ON MY WAY, $200 LATER. AN HOUR LATER, THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. MY CAR SHOOK AWFULLY. I HAD ANOTHER TWO HOUR DRIVE UNTIL I GOT HOME, BECAUSE I WAS ON VACATION WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT SOME WIRES HAD RUBBED TOGETHER, AND NEEDED REPLACED, $300 LATER, I WAS SENT ON MY WAY. THIS WEEK, I TOOK MY CAR TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND THE MEN NOTICED THAT MY BALL JOINT WAS GOING OUT. MY TIRE LITERALLY SHOOK IN FRONT OF MY EYES. TALK ABOUT SCARY... I GOT MY BALL JOINT/CONTROL ARM FIXED, AT A STEAL OF $230 BECAUSE MY FRIENDS FRIEND OWNS A SHOP AND GAVE ME A DEAL. I DID GET A QUOTE FROM A LOCAL DEALER FOR $420. IN THE PAST YEAR, THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A MONEY PIT AND IT ONLY HAS 55,000 MILES ON IT. I WANT OUT! NO MORE PONTIACS FOR ME! *TR

CLUNK/KNOCK FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN. STEERING IS NOW ALSO BECOMING TIGHT WHEN MAKING TURNS.
IN ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN ON AN EXIT RAMP, THE BRAKES LOCKED CAUSING THE REAR END TO FISH TAIL. AFTER TRYING TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR, THE CAR WENT OFF THE ROAD AND STRUCK A CEMENT POST WHERE A LIGHT POLE USED TO BE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD TO TOTAL THE CAR. THIS ALSO OCCURED ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO, WHEN THE BRAKES LOCKED AND, FORTUNATELY, THE CAR WAS STOPPED WITHOUT DAMAGE AT THAT TIME. *TR

2007 G6 GT- THE AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT HAS CAME ON APPROX. 3 TIMES REQUIRING THE MODULE TO BE REPLACED, $700 EACH TIME GOOD FOR I DID PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SO I HAVE NOT HAD TO PAY YET. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC G6. ON AT LEAST 5 OCCASIONS I HAVE LOST MY POWER STEERING. USUALLY WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. IT ALSO HAPPENED ONCE WHEN I WENT OVER A FROST HEAVE. THIS HAS ALL BEEN WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. LAST NIGHT I WENT OVER ANOTHER FROST HEAVE AND MY SERVICE AIR BAG CAME ON. IT STAYED ON THE NEXT 4-5 TIMES I DROVE MY CAR. IT FINALLY SHUT OFF THIS AFTERNOON. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WITH NO PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CRUISE WILL NOT STAY ENGAGED WHEN THIS HAPPENS. PEOPLE FOLLOWING ME HAVE TOLD ME I SHOULD NOT RIDE MY BRAKE AS THEY CAN'T TELL WHEN I AM GOING TO STOP. THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ON IS INTERMITTENT, IT CAN HAPPEN WITH THE CAR IN PARK AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. MY RESEARCH HAS IDENTIFIED THAT THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THIS AND THAT A RECALL IS AVAILABLE FOR 2005 & 2006, OUR 2007 HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *TR
THE BRAKE LAMPS MAY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY BECAUSE OF CORROSION IN A WIRING CONNECTOR. CORROSION IN THE CONNECTOR COULD CAUSE THE BRAKE LAMPS TO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS NOT BEEN DEPRESSED, OR THE LAMPS MAY NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE CRUISE CONTROL MAY NOT ENGAGE, AND GREATER BRAKE PEDAL FORCE MAY BE REQUIRED TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK. BRAKE LAMPS THAT ARE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY MAY NOT WARN A DRIVER IN A FOLLOWING VEHICLE OF THE BRAKING STATUS AND COULD LEAD TO A CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. *TR
I BOUGHT THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 2009. I FIRST NOTICED IT 2 WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED. THE CRUISE WOULD ALWAYS TURN OFF RANDOMLY. I NOTICED THEN THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD RANDOMLY COME ON. NOW THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH ON ALL THE TIME EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK. THEY DON'T TURN OFF UNLESS CAR IS OFF. THE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL COME ON AND SAY ITS ON WHEN THERE IS NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AND SOMETIMES WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT IT WILL BE OFF. ALSO WITH THIS THE SEATBELT ALARM WILL DING AND DING UNTIL I BUCKLE IN MY INVISIBLE PERSON. IT ISN'T ALL THE TIME BUT IT WORRIES ME BECAUSE HAVING A FAULTY AIR BAG IS NOT COOL. I'VE CONTACTED GM BECAUSE I SAW THAT THESE THINGS WERE ON RECALL BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT MY VIN ISN'T RECALLED EVEN THOUGH ITS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. IS THERE ANY WAY YOU CAN HELP? *TR
I RECENTLY BECAME AWARE OF AN ISSUE MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 IS HAVING. PEOPLE THAT ARE FOLLOWING ME REPORT THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE SOMETIMES ON WHEN I AM NOT PUSHING THE BRAKES, AND OFF WHEN I AM PUSHING THE BRAKES. I HAVE ALSO HAD INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING. I FOUND A RECALL FOR 2005, AND 2006 PONTIAC G6'S WITH THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM (NHTSA ID# 09V036000). I WANT YOU TO BE AWARE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WITH MY 2007 MODEL AS WELL. *TR
