STEERING SHAFT IN VEHICLE WORKED ON 7-12-08 & 10-29-09, TWICE NOW. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 45 TO 50 MPH; THE "POWER STEERING" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, FOLLOWED BY A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE APPLIED TO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE POWER STEERING MOTOR WAS REPLACED. RECENTLY, THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED EXCESSIVELY AND EXHIBITED EXTREMELY LOW ENGINE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER IN WHICH THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER; HOWEVER, THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE REPAIR WILL BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE LIGHTS DOES NOT COME ON WHEN SHE ENGAGE THE BRAKE PEDAL; HOWEVER, IT DOES WHEN STEPS ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED OF THIS FAILURE BY A VEHICLE FOLLOWING HER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BCM SENSOR COULD HAVE A SHORTAGE AND COULD COST $50 TO $200 TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS NO WARRANTY OR RELATED RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. UPDATED 12/11/09 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED ANOTHER MOTORIST INFORMED HER THAT WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS DID NOT ILLUMINATE AND WHEN SHE ACCLERATED THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. ROTATIONAL NOISE IN WHEEL WHEN PULLING OUT OR TURNING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT. ALSO HAVE FRONT SUSPENSION PROBLEMS WITH THE STRUTS AND THE STRUT MOUNTS WHICH BROKE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CAR FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER. *TR
SINCE I BOUGHT THIS PONTIAC BACK IN 2009, IT HAD A LOUD CLUNKING AND STEERING SOUND IN THE FRONT END WHICH GOT WORSE OVER THE YEARS. I CAN FEEL THE NOISE VIBRATE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT DOESN'T FEEL SAFE. THE GM DEALER SAID, 'IT'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.' I HAD THEM CHECK IT OUT AND THEY CLAIM IT'S FINE. I DID ONLINE RESEARCH AND APPARENTLY OTHER GM PONTIAC OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME COMPLAINT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WHY WON'T GM FIX THIS?
WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, VIBRATIONS TRAVEL THROUGH STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE CAN NOT STOP SUDDENLY IF REQUIRED DUE TO LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHEN ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL, AND THEN THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED. SHE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 44,000.
BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ON EVEN WITHOUT FOOT ON BRAKE AND AROUND THE SAME TIME, NOT REALIZING THEY MIGHT BE CONNECTED, DIFFICULTY SHIFTING CAR OUT OF PARK. HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET REPAIRED AND NO ONE IS ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. VERY FRUSTRATING. *TR
WHEN WE WOULD TRY TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK, WE COULDN'T. THEN WE NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE BRIGHT, LIKE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. SO WE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT. THEN WE PUSH ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH ALOT OF FORCE AND FINALLY WE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK. WE FOLLOWED THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS ON AND WOULD TURN OFF WHEN THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES. *TR
I ALMOST WAS REAR ENDED DUE TO THE FACT MY BRAKE LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN 2 YEARS I'VE HAD THIS FIXED AND NOW THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY IM STILL HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. I PURCHASED A USED 2007 PONTIAC G6 FOR MY DAUGHTER IN NOVEMBER 2008. SINCE THAT TIME THE CAR HAS SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY OR NOT STARTED ON OCCASION. RECENTLY SHE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY IN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE POWER STEERING FLUID LIGHT IS ON. UPON RESEARCH WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE G6 DOES NOT HAVE A POWER STEERING PUMP AND HAS AN ELECTRICAL ENGINE. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY OWNERS OF THE PONTIAC G6 HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL. MY DAUGHTER'S SAFETY IS A CONCERN AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT GM HAS OFFERED TO ITS CONSUMERS TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE. *TR
MY CAR IS A 2007 PONTIAC G6 V6 THAT HAS BRAKELAMP ISSUES. WHEN I DRIVE THE BRAKELAMPS COME ON AND WHEN I BRAKE, THEY GO OFF. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR OVER THE LAST 3 MONTHS EVERY TIME THAT I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I REPLACED THE BRAKELIGHT SWITCH, HOWEVER THAT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS PREPARING TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT WHEN I NOTICED THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS NOT SLOWING DOWN AS MUCH. THE OTHER CAR NEARLY HIT ME BUT MANAGED TO PULL UP BESIDE ME TO TELL ME MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. I DROVE LATER THAT NIGHT AND NOTICED IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR THAT MY LIGHTS WERE ON ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL. HOWEVER, WHEN I DID APPLY THE BRAKES, MY LIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO MEINEKE TWICE ALREADY AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE OCCURRENCE OF THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ABOUT EVERY NIGHT THAT I HAVE DRIVEN. I AM UNABLE TO NOTICE IF THE PROBLEM OCCURS DURING THE DAY SINCE I CANNOT SEE THE BACK OF MY CAR THEN. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR BECAUSE I FEAR SOMEONE WILL REAR END ME AND IT WOULD BE MY FAULT BECAUSE MY BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND I DO NOT FEEL AS IF I SHOULD GO PAY TO GET IT FIXED WHEN I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO CAUSE WHATEVER THE PROBLEM MAY BE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR SINCE 2009. ONE OF THE FIRST PROBLEMS I NOTICED WAS WHAT SEEMED TO BE ELECTRICAL WITH THE LIGHTS IN THE CAR GOING DIM FOR A BIT, THEN KICKING BACK IN. THIS ONLY HAPPENS EVERY SO OFTEN. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ON DRIVER SIDE KEEPS GOING OUT, EVEN WHEN PUTTING A NEW LIGHT IN. PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW IS THE ONLY WINDOW THAT WORKS AT ALL TIMES. ALL THREE OTHER WINDOWS ARE INOPERABLE AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL JERK WHILE SHIFTING GEARS. FEELS LIKE I AM DRIVING A STICK SHIFT VEHICLE, BUT THIS INDEED A AUTOMATIC. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS AS WELL. BACK BREAK LIGHTS CONSTANTLY STAYED ON. THEY WOULD GO OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE BREAKS AND RELEASE, BUT THEN WOULD COME BACK ON RIGHT AWAY WHILE ACCELERATING. --THIS WAS A RECALL THAT HAS BEEN FIXED--
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING, THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT A RUBBING NOISE IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STUB SHAFT NEEDED TO BE LUBRICATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE SIR COIL WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,371 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2007 PONTIAC G6 IN 2008. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. I HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS AT 20,000 MILES AND THE BRAKES ARE STILL GIVING ME PROBLEMS. WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, THE CAR MAKES A CRACKLING, LOUD SOUND. THE HEADLIGHT PLUGGER HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THEM BEING BURNED OUT. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS CAR. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND I AM SORRY I DID NOT RESEARCH THIS CAR BEFOREHAND. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAR TO ANYONE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THE PRICE THEY WILL CHARGE TO FIX EVERYTHING IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ME. *KB

I OWN A 2007 PONTIAC G6, PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER 2008. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS, I WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST THAT MY VEHICLE'S BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE BUT WERE ILLUMINATED WHEN I WAS ACCELERATING. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE INTERMITTENT AND THE DEALER CLAIMS TO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR 2005 AND 2006 MODELS (NHTSA CAMPAIGN 09V036000) BUT NOT THE 2007 MODEL. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2007 PONTIAC G6 USED IN JUNE OF 2008 WITH 15,000 MILES. SINCE I HAVE HAD TONS OF WARRANTY WORK DONE. BUT THE ISSUE I AM HAVING NOW IS WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT IN THE DASH COMING ON AND THE RADIO SAYING SERVICE AIR BAG SOON. IT FIST HAPPENED ABOUT A MONTH AFTER WE BOUT THE CAR. SO WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE IT WAS ONE OF THE WARRANTY ITEMS THAT I WANTED TO BE FIXED. WHEN I SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IT THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO UNLESS THE LIGHT WAS ON, AND BRING IT BACK WHEN IT CAME ON AGAIN. WELL THE NEXT TIME IT CAME ON WAS ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER. I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND DIDN'T KNOW WHERE TO EVEN TRY AND TAKE IT. SO IT CAME ON AGAIN ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO WITH 37,500 MILES ON IT NOW. SO I TAKE IT BACK WERE I NORMALLY GET IT SERVICED AND PURCHASED THE CAR, BEING AS IT IS ON MY WAY HOME. WELL THEY SAY THAT THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT WASN'T THERE ANY LONGER DIDN'T MAKE A NOTE OF IT SO IT WOULD COME OUT OF POCKET AND AT $88 JUST TO PLUG THE COMPUTER TO IT AND ME BEING FLAT BROKE I COULDN'T DO IT. ALL I WANT IS IT TO BE FIXED AT NO COST TO ME. AND THEY WON'T DO IT DUE TO LACK OF ABILITY ON THE PREVIOUS SERVICE MANAGER. THEY GAVE ME GM'S NUMBER TO CALL AND SEE IF I COULD GET GOOD WILL WARRANTY BUT THEY SAID NO AS WELL. THIS INS ALL ONLY 1500 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY. NO ONE HAS GOT HURT YET BUT I AM AFRAID THAT IF I AM GOING UP THE ROAD ONE DAY AND GET INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH MY FAMILY IN MY CAR. THE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY AND SOMEONE WILL GET HURT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE STEERING BEGAN PULLING TO ONE SIDE. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO BEGAN SHAKING AND WOULD LOCK SPORADICALLY. THE CHECK ENGINE AND CHECK POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR AT VARIOUS SPEEDS INTERMITTENTLY AND PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS OR REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING. A CHIME AND WARNING WILL OCCUR, BUT POWER STEERING MAY STILL WORK AT TIMES. THEN WITHOUT WARNING THERE WILL BE NO POWER STEERING. I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW THE REASON. I HAD NOTICED THAT NHTSA PEO7023 HAS DOCUMENTED THIS PROBLEM. SO I BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION AND THEY STATED THAT IT PROBABLY FALLS INTO THE REASONING STATED IN ABOVE ACTION NUMBER. *TR
AUTOMOBILE PURCHASED AS NEW. ROTORS NOT VENTED PROPERLY AND WERE REPLACED WITH BRAKE PADS AT 32,200 MILES. INSISTED THAT DEALER/PONTIAC CORPORATE HANDLE UNDER WARRANTY. AT 32,900 MILES CAR STOPPED AT LIGHT AND DID NOT ADVANCE WHEN ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED. THE TRANSMISSION REQUIRED FULL REPLACEMENT BECAUSE THE SPRAG "BLEW UP" AND WAS COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. WILL NEVER LEASE OR BUY PONTIAC AGAIN. *TR
THE REAR BRAKES OF MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 VALUE LEADER WORN OUT PREMATURELY. I BOUGH THE CAR IN OCTOBER 2007, AS BRAND NEW, FROM A GM DEALER IN TORONTO CANADA. THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER WITH NEW ONES, AT 23700 KM ONLY DUE TO PREMATURE WEAR. *TR
2007 PONTIAC G6 - PURCHASED NEW. STEERING COLUMN STARTED SQUEAKING AND SQUEALING A YEAR AGO. TOOK IT TO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES BUT THEY CAN'T FIX IT FOR GOOD. NOW YOU CAN FEEL A ROUGH VIBRATION WHEN YOU TURN THE WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT AND IT IS GETTING LESS SMOOTH TO TURN - VERY APPARENT SQUEALING NOW EVERYTIME THE WHEEL IS TURNED. ABOUT A YEAR AGO THEY REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION BUT THE SQUEAK GOT WORSE AND THEY "LUBRICATED" SOMETHING BUT THE MECHANIC DIDN'T CLEARLY SAY WHAT AS HE COULDN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER NOW REFUSES TO LOOK AT IT UNLESS I PAY A "DIAGNOSTIC FEE" AND THEY SAY ALL THEY CAN DO IS LUBRICATE IT FOR AN ADDITIONAL EXORBITANT FEE. GM REFUSES TO MAKE THE DEALERSHIP INVESTIGATE IT FURTHER EVENTHOUGH MY COMPLAINTS ARE ON FILE AT THE DEALER. THE MECHANIC PREVIOUSLY TOLD ME THAT AS LONG AS THE COMPLAINT WAS ON FILE THEN IT WILL BE COVERED BY WARRANTY EVEN AFTER THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY EXPIRED BUT I GUESS THAT WAS A LIE. *TR

BRAKE LIGHT STAY TURNED ON WHEN I PRESS THE PEDAL THE TURN OFF BUT THEN TURN BACK ON. IM SURE IT THE SAME PROBLEM FROM THE 05-06 G6. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE BRAKE LIGHTS OPERATED WITHOUT PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHICH CAUSED THE CRUISE CONTROL TO DISENGAGE. THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ENGAGED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES WHICH THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,428. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,503.
AT AROUND 51,000 MILES MY PONTIAC G6 (2007) BEGAN VEERING TO THE LEFT AND LOCKING UP. I HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE THIS HAPPENED WHEN I TURNED THE WHEEL FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. THE CLUNK STARTED OFF SOMEWHAT QUIET AND THEN GOT LOUDER AND CAUSE IT TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO TURN. WHEN I WOULD BRAKE THE CAR WOULD SHAKE AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TURN LEFT AND RIGHT RAPIDLY ON IT'S OWN. I HAD ALL MY BRAKE PADS REPLACED, EVEN THOUGH THE MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. I HAD THE STEERING RACK REPLACED. THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY FOR 3 MONTHS AND THEN RETURNED. THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN LOCKING AGAIN MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO RECOVER FROM A NORMAL TURN. I HAD THE STEERING RACK REPLACED AGAIN. NOW 6 WEEKS LATER THE CLUNKING AND SHAKING AND STEERING PROBLEMS ARE BACK. COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET. I HAVE HAD THIS STEERING RACK REPLACED 2 TIMES AND NOW IT NEEDS TO BE DONE AGAIN. ALL THESE REPLACEMENTS HAVE HAPPENED OVER A 9 MONTH PERIOD. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.- *TR
I HAVE REPLACED THE STEERING RACK 3 (THREE) TIMES SINCE MAY OF 2009, THE FIRST TIME AT APPROX. 20000 MILES. THE STEERING RACK IS GOING OUT FOR THE FORTH TIME. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AT ONCE. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TWICE BY THE DEALER THAT IT IS FIXED BUT ONCE WE LEAVE THE DEALER THE BRAKE LIGHTS START ACTING UP ONCE AGAIN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IN WHICH PONTIAC SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR TO FIX RIGHT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES AND EACH TIME, THE HEADLIGHT BULB WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR WAS MELTED AND THE HEADLIGHT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE NOISE WAS VERY UNFAMILIAR. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,403 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WATER BEGAN TO LEAK FROM THE SUNROOF INTO THE VEHICLE. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER REPLACED THE DRAINING SYSTEM WITHIN THE SUNROOF UNDER THE WARRANTY. APPROXIMATELY 15 MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURER'S ISSUED RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT THE STEERING COMPONENT WAS THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE. SHE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION AND STEERING HOSE AT THE COST OF $800. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 41,000.
HAVE HAD ON AND OFF ISSUES WITH BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ON. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE SWITCH BEHIND THE BRAKE PEDAL 3 TIMES AND IT ALWAYS GOES BACK TO THE SAME PROBLEM... THE BRAKES LIGHTS ARE ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, BUT WHEN YOU DEPRESS/TAP THE BRAKES THEY GO OFF AND THEN COME BACK ON A FEW SECONDS LATER... AND THEY DON'T COME ON WHEN YOU NEED THEM. WE HAVE TRIED PULLING THE FUSES AND THE RELAY SWITCH AND THEY STILL CONTINUE TO STAY ON. *TR
SQUEAK IN STEERING WHEEL OR COLUMN. IT ONLY HAPPENS AT SLOW SPEEDS WHEN TURNING. ALREADY HAD INTERMEDIATE SHAFT GREASED. SOUNDS LIKE SQUEAKY WINDSHIELD WIPERS. IT'S LIKE SOMETHING RUBBING IN STEERING WHEEL, I FIRST THOUGHT MAYBE THE SIR COIL. CONCERNED ABOUT POSSIBLE AIRBAG MALFUNCTION. TOOK INTO DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT'S JUST PLASTIC OR RUBBER RUBBING IN STEERING COLUMN AND NOT TO BE CONCERNED & SQUEAKS ARE NOT COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAVE NOTICED THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET WITH OTHER PONTIAC'S AND IT'S EITHER BEEN THE SIR COIL OR SOME CASES EVEN THE WHOLE RACK AND PINION. IT'S VERY ANNOYING. *TR

AT APPROXIMATELY 35,980 MILES I BEGAN GETTING 'CLUNKING' NOISES FROM MY STEERING AT LOW SPEEDS AND WHILE TURNING. THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE PONTIAC G6. IT IS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING COLUMN. UNFORTUNATELY I WILL HAVE OVER 36,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE BY THE TIME I CAN GET IT TO A DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT WHICH IF NOT ADDRESSED WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH IF NOT ADDRESSED BY YOUR OFFICE. A REDESIGN AND RECALL IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ISSUE. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE FOR ACTION TO BE TAKEN? ADDITIONALLY, THE FACTORY BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE ARE VERY CHEAP. 2007 PONTIAC G6. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK TODAY MORNING AND SUDDENLY I HEARD A BEEPING SOUND. THE SEAT BELT SIGN ON THE DASHBOARD WAS LIT. I ALSO GET A MESSAGE THAT SAYS "SERVICE AIRBAGS". DRIVING TO WORK ON A WINTER DAY, HAD THE REAR DEFROSTER ON TO DE-ICE SOME ICE ON BACK REAR WINDOW. I HEARD A "POP" SOUNDED LIKE A BALLOON POPPING, THOUGHT I HAD A FLAT, STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR, THAT IS WHEN I SAW THAT MY BACK WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. CONTINUED ON TO WORK, TRYING TO AVOID BUMPS ON FREEWAY. NO LUCK, WHEN I DROVE OVER A BUMP THE GLASS STARTED FALLING INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR. WHEN I GOT TO WORK TRIED CALLING DEALER, KEPT GETTING PUT ON HOLD, CALLED INSURANCE COMPANY I ASKED THEM IF A CERTAIN GLASS COMPANY WAS ON THEIR LIST OF REPAIR SHOPS, IT WAS, I HAD TO PAY A $100 DEDUCTIBLE, THE REAR WINDOW OF CAR WAS REPLACED. I BELIEVE IT WAS A FAULTY HEATING ELEMENT IN THE REAR WINDOW. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 ARE MALFUNCTIONING. THE BRAKES STAY ON WHEN NOT APPLIED AND GO OFF WHEN APPLIED. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. I HAVE LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. UPON STARTING VEHICLE, AFTER MAKING FIRST TURN, POWER STEERING GOES OUT. USUALLY OCCURS DURING COLD WEATHER. POWER STEERING MAY RETURN MOMENTARILY AFTER CAR IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED.

THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE BENT INTO THE WINDSHIELD AND CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES TO HER RIGHT SHOULDER. THE PASSENGER IN THE OTHER VEHICLE ALSO SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 3,700.
MY CAR WAS INVOLVED IN AN HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT IN FRONT OF MY HOME. THE FRONT END WAS REBUILT. EVER SINCE THAT ACCIDENT THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON IN THE DASH AND RADIO.THIS IS A DAILY THING. IT EVEN LIGHTS UP WHEN NO ONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I ALSO NOTICED THIS YEAR THAT MY SEAT BELT LIGHT HAS COME ON AS I WAS WEARING IT MEANING THE LIGHT STATES I DIDN'T HAVE IT ON WHEN I DID. THIS YEAR I ALSO LOST STEERING IN THE CAR DUE TO A BAD ALTERNATOR WHICH FRIED MY BATTERY AND PASSENGER HEAD LAMP SOCKET. GOOD THING I LOST THE STEERING WHILE I WAS PARKING AND NO ON A HIGHWAY... THESE PROBLEMS I ENCOUNTERED ARE VERY SIMILAR TO THE IGNITION SWITCH ISSUES. WHEN I SWITCHED INSURANCE COMPANIES TO PROGRESSIVE THEY HAD ON THEIR WEBSITE ABOUT RECALLS I CLICKED IT AND SAW A RECALL FOR THE ISSUE I WAS HAVING. I CALLED ABOUT IT AND WAS DENIED. SO I LET IT GO BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD HELP ME. THEN I SAW ON C-SPAN THAT THIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH AND AIR BAG. ONCE AGAIN I CALLED AND WAS DENIED. THEY SAID MY VIN NUMBER DIDN'T MATCH THE INFECTED VEHICLES. NOW I HAVE A RECALL THAT STATES THAT GM IS CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY AND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SHIFT CABLE ASSEMBLY. IF GM IS CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY THEN THIS ISSUE I HAVE WILL BE INVESTIGATED. ALL I ASK IS THAT GM DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ME ONE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. *TR
I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON THE OFF RAMP OF THE FREEWAY WHEN A TRUCK HIT ME FROM THE BACK WHICH FORCED ME INTO THE JEEP IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS HIT DEAD ON IN THE REAR WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT THE JEEP IN FRONT OF ME DEAD ON, MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
