THIS CAR HAD A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE LIGHTS RANDOMLY COMING ON AND OFF. I TOOK THE CAR IN MYSELF AND THEY LUBED UP THE CIRCUITS WITH DIELECTRIC GREASE. THIS FIXES THE PROBLEM FOR A FEW WEEKS. I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS. THIS MORNING I WAS FOLLOWING MY WIFE AND KIDS AND THE BRAKES LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN SHE IS GOING AND THEY GO OFF WHEN SHE APPLIES THE BRAKE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL ME MY RECALL HAS ALREADY BEEN FIXED. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM IT SEEMS THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. MY ISSUE IS THAT THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T CARE AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO LOOK ON YOUTUBE AND LEARN HOW TO GREASE THE ELECTRIC PLUG THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON. THIS IS NOT FAIR. THIS PROBLEM HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON THE CAR AND THEY SHOULD FIX IT.
POWER STEERING GOES OUT
THE PROBLEM IS MY GAS TANK. SOMETIMES THE TANK SHIFTS WHERE I CAN BARELY GET THE GAS NOZZLE INTO THE GAS TANK AS IT IS PARTIALLY BLOCKED. IT FIRST HAPPENED OVER A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, BUT THEN IT GOES BACK INTO PLACE. I USED THE DATE OF THE MOST RECENT TIME I NOTICED IT HAPPENED. I FIGURED THIS WAS WEAR AND TEAR, BUT I'M SEEING OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THIS. I AM SEEING COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME CAR ABOUT A STRONG GAS SMELL, WITH LEAKS, THOUGH, I HAVE NEVER NOTICED EITHER ONE. I, ALSO, SAW A 2007 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX RECALL ON A GAS TANK SEAL.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR TO WORK THIS MORNING ON A CITY STREET DOWNTOWN DALLAS IT WENT INTO A FLAM AND START SMOKING. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND DIAL 911 AND THEY CAME OUT AND LET THE FIRE OUT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME TO WATCH THE CAR BECUZ IT CAN START ANOTHER FIRE THE SPRAYED UNDER THE HOOD AND IN THE DASH BOARD INSIDE THE CAR. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID IT COULD BE SOME WIRING ISSUE BUT THEY WASN'T SURE. SO I CALLED AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO GOOD YEAR. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD LOOK AT THE CAR UNTIL TOMORROW AND WILL CALL ME ONCE THEY TAKE A LOOK

ADDITIONALLY, WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE POWER STEERING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED GREENWOOD CHEVROLET INC (4695 MAHONING AVE, YOUNGSTOWN, OH 44515, (330) 792-5252) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V0640000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC G6 BASE MODEL. IT HAS 110,756 MILES AND IT BREAKING DOWN BADLY. THE GEAR SHIFT, TRANSMISSION AND STEERING WHEEL CONTROL ALL STARTED TO MESS UP AROUND THE SAME TIME. MY FRIENDS FATHER HAD THE SAME EXACT CAR A FEW YEARS AGO AND SAID THAT THEY HAVE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND/OR THE MANUFACTURER TO FIND A SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM.
THE CAR HAS HARD TIME GETTING IN TO REVERSE
SUDDEN LOSE OF POWER STEERING. AFTER CAR STARTS UP, POWER STEERING IS PRESENT, HOWEVER AFTER VEHICLE IS MOVING, SUDDEN LOSE OF THE POWER STEERING OCCURS AND NOTIFICATIONS ON DASHBOARD. GM STATES THIS IS NOT RELATED TO NHTSA BULLETIN 15V064000, HOWEVER IT IS FOR THE SAME EXACT MAKE, MODEL, YEAR, AND PART THAT IS AFFECTED. THE GM RECALL NUMBER IS 14772. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS I CAN NO LONGER RELY ON THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE AS EXPECTED WITHOUT KNOWING WHEN THE POWER STEERING WILL BE LOST. SERIOUS POTENTIAL OF CRASH AS TURNING MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE WHILE IN MOTION. IT OCCURS FOR EVERY POWER UP OF THE VEHICLE. PLEASE HAVE GM INVESTIGATE THAT MORE 2006-2007 PONTIAC G6 VEHICLES WITH THAT SAME TORQUE SENSOR BE IMPACTED BY RECALL 14722.
BRAKE LIGHTS TURN ON RANDOMLY AND STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. ONLY TURN OFF WHEN I PUT ON THE BRAKES, CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. ONLY FIX FOR NOW IS TO GREASE CIRCUIT, BUT I HAVE TO KEEP REDOING THAT EVERY FEW WEEKS.
BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON ALL THE TIME WHILE DRIVING. BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OFF WHEN PUSHING BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP. ALSO HAVE TO PUSH BRAKE PEDAL UNUSUALLY HARD TO FLOOR TO GET TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL ON PONTIAC G6 CARS FOR THIS ( RECALL#13036). I TYPED MY VIN NUMBER IN THIS WEBSITE AND IT SAID 0 RECALLS ON IT. I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CAR USED. NOT SURE IF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED ON FEB. 28, 2019 BUT APPROXIMATELY THEN. AND IT PROBABLY HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN PARK MODE ALTHOUGH CAN'T BE SURE.
MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 HAS HAD THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING. THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. IF I TURN THE CAR OFF, THE POWER STEERING USUALLY COMES BACK ON WHEN I RESTART THE CAR. THE LAST 2 TWOS, IT GOES BACK OFF ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING. IT IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL THE TURNING OF THE CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. *TT VIN IS INVALID *JB
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING MAKING CAR VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE STRAIGHT OR TURN ON ANY KIND OF ROAD.
I OWN A 2007 PONTIAC G6. I WAS DRIVING A COUPLE WEEKS AND MY POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ACROSS MY RADIO WITH BEEPS, WITH THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING WHEN IN STATIONARY AND DRIVING AND THEN AFTER A FEW MINUTES I WOULD SUDDENLY LOOSE POWER STEERING. I WOULD PULL OVER AND TURN CAR OFF AND TURN BACK ON AND IT WOULD WORK FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN ONCE AGAIN SUDDENLY LOOSE POWER STEERING. THE LAST 5 DAYS THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT IMMEDIATELY AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING. DUE TO THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT ANY DRIVING SPEED, I WOULD STILL HAVE SOME ABILITY TO TURN THE WHEEL BUT IT IS NOT EASY AND MAKES THINGS MORE DANGEROUS WHILE TRAVELING OR DURING A TURN. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO MECHANIC, MY CAR WAS DIAGNOSED : TORQUE SENSOR IN THE EPS SYSTEM. I STARTED DOING SOME RESEARCH TO SEE IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. I CAME ACROSS A RECALL FOR THE SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IN A 2007 PONTIAC G6 WHICH WAS DATED FEBRUARY 4,2015. I WAS READING THE RECALL WHICH WAS DESCRIBED AS TO WHAT MY PROBLEM IS WITH MY CAR. THE RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 I ALSO CAME ACROSS A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT -LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. MY CARE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE GM TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY RECALL. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS DEFECT, WHEN THERE IS A RECALL AND A SPECIAL COVERAGE. GM TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT FIX MY CAR BECAUSE IT WAS NOT IN RECALL AND ALSO TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE THE SPECIAL COVERAGE WAS EXPIRED THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR REPAIRS. I FIND THIS VERY DISTURBING, WHEN AT ONE POINT GM WAS FIXING THIS PROBLEM IN 2007-2010 PONTIAC G6. GM TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE GOT A LETTER ABOUT THIS SPECIAL WARRANTY. I NEVER RECEIVED THIS LETTER, OR I WOULD HAVE GOT THIS COMPLETED AT THAT TIME. I FEEL THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RELOOKED AT TO KEEP PEOPLE SAFE ON THE ROADS..

WHEN THE CONTACT HAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHTS REPAIRED, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHTS BLEW OUT AND VICE VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS MOISTURE INSIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT UNIT, WHICH COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARVIN K. BROWN AUTO CENTER (1441 CAMINO DEL RIO SOUTH, AUTO CIR, SAN DIEGO, CA 92108, (877) 611-6882) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LAMP WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SHORTLY AFTER, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,468.
STEERING WHEEL BEGINS TO MOVE ON IT'S OWN WHEN STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING. CHECK STEERING LIGHT COMES ON. ITS ELECTRONIC ASSIST STEERING. AT TIMES RESPONCE IS DELAYED A SECOND OR SO.
MY POWER STEERING KEEPS GOING OUT WHILE I'M DRIVING AND IT'S AFFECTING MY WHEELS AND STEERING. THE CAR IS IN MOTION AS THIS IS GOING ON.
WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND THE WARNING MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH DISPLAY. THERE IS NO WARNING BEFORE HAND AND IT HAS HAPPENED 3X WHILE DRIVING. ONCE IN A PARKING LOT WHILE GOING 15MPH OR LESS AND THEN 2 OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING APROX 30MPH AND 40MPH RESPECTIVELY.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, YOU WILL LOSE ALL POWER STEERING. WHEN SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT, POWER STEERING RETURNS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS REGARDLESS OF SPEED OR OUTSIDE TEMP. EXACT ISSUE IN OTHER NHTSA RECALL BUT MY VIN IS NOT ELIGIBLE
WHEN I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL SEVERAL THINGS HAPPEN, A CLICK SOUND GOING CLOCKWISE, AND I HEAR SQUEAKY OR WHINING SOUND WHEN I TURN EITHER WAY. I HEAR A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT TIRES. MY SIGNAL DOESN'T SHUT OFF AFTER I COMPLETE A TURN.
THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING ON THE PONTIAC G6 2007 LOCKS UP WHILE DRIVING. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP AND STEERING WAS MADE DIFFICULT MORE EFFORT PUT INTO TURNING THE WHEEL A SMALL DIRECTION. THIS ISSUE ALSO HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN PARK AND JUST STARTING, OFTENTIMES RESTARTING CAR CAN FIX ISSUE TEMPORARILY
FOR A WHILE NAME THE DASH WOULD READ POWER STEERING BUT THE WHEEL WOULDN'T BE HARD TO TURN BUT I WOULD BE IN PARK AND IT WOULD BE TURNING BY ITS SELF. I WOULD CUT THE CAR OFF BUT IT WOULD BE OK START IT BACK UP BE PROBLEM OTHER NIGHT IT DID IT AGAIN WHILE PARKED CIT THE CAR OFF STARTED IT BACK UP STARTED TO HEAD HOME AND IT DID IT AGAIN AND I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE WHEEL STARTED TURNING AND PULLING ON IT'S ON ALMOST WRECKED. *DT*JB

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
WHILE THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR MOVING THE BRAKE LIGHTS APPEAR ON BUT ONCE PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE BRAKES THEY TURN OFF. BASICALLY THE OPPOSITE WAY THE BRAKE LIGHTS SHOULD BE WORKING.
AS I WAS TURNING RIGHT TO A STOP LIGHT I WAS USING MY BRAKES AND THE CAR WOULDN'T BRAKE THAT MUCH UNTIL I PUSHED DOWN HARDER THAN BEFORE. AFTER TURNING RIGHT AND GOING TOWARDS ANOTHER STOP LIGHT, I BRAKED AND THE CAR STOPPED. IT WAS STILL RUNNING, BUT THE ACCELERATOR WASN'T WORKING AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR BACK INTO PARK THEN DRIVE, NOTHING HAPPENED. AFTER I TURNED MY CAR ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT, BUT THE STEERING WAS HARD TO TURN. AFTER MANY TURN ON AND OFFS, THE STEERING WHEEL WASN'T TIGHT ANYMORE AND I HAD SOMEONE ELSE DRIVE MY CAR TO MY HOUSE. AFTER A WEEK, MY PARENTS TOLD ME START THE CAR AND LET IT RUN FOR 2 MINUTES. WHEN I TURNED IT ON, IT MADE LIKE A 'GURGLING' NOISE AND WHEN I TURNED IT OFF, IT WAS HARD TO TURN THE KEY AND WHEN I GOT OUT OF MY CAR, IT STARTED TO SMELL. BEFORE EVERYTHING THAT I TYPED THAT HAPPENED, MY CAR WOULD START UP WITH THE 'GURGLING' NOISE AND WOULD SHAKE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70MPH, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR BEEPED, BUT I DIDN'T SEE ANY WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD. IMMEDIATELY I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL HAD LOCKED AND WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. I WAS ABLE TO TILT IT JUST ENOUGH TO CHANGE LANES, BUT I WAS AFRAID I WOULD BE UNABLE TO MAKE ANY SHARPER TURN THAN THAT. I EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND AS I SUSPECTED, IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED RIGHT BEFORE A STEEP CURVE IN THE ROAD AND I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TIME TO SLOW DOWN AND I WOULD HAVE RUN RIGHT OFF THE ROAD, UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL! I SEE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER PEOPLES' G6 JUST IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. PLEASE FIX OUR POWER STEERING! ENGINE STILL TURNS ON AND OFF, NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WAY IT DRIVES, JUST THE STEERING WHEEL IS STUCK.
I HAVE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR AND AIR FILTER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND, AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, HAVE FOUND THAT MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING EVERY ISSUE TH'S TO HAVE SEEN IN PREVIOUS GM VEHICLE SAFETY RECALLS. UNFORTUNATELY, MY VIN NUMBER SEEMS TO BE ONE OF THOSE THAT HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED HAS HAVING HAD THOSE ISSUES ALTHOUGH IT CURRENTLY IS EXPERIENCING THEM. I WANT TO LODGE A COMPLAINT THAT THE VIN NUMBER SEARCH TOOL IS NOT ACCURATE ENOUGH TO DETERMINE THE VALIDITY OF A CLAIM. I SAY THIS BECAUSE EVEN ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE, THE TOOL SAYS THAT NOT ALL VIN NUMBERS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH A RECALL HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN ASSOCIATED TO ANY RECALLS. AS THERE DO EXIST CURRENT RECALLS FOR ALL 07 PONTIAC G6 MODELS, THERE ARE NO RECALLS RELATED TO MY SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER. BUT, ALL OF THE RECALLS DIRECTLY MENTION EVERY ISSUES THAT MY CAR IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING. INCLUDING, THE TRANSMISSION NOT PROPERLY SHIFTING DUE TO A MADNESS OR BREAK IN THE SHIFT CABLE, THE POWER STEERING MOTOR SUDDENLY DYING, THE CAR EXPERIENCING A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, ETC. EACH OF THESE ISSUES IS DIRECTLY MENTIONED IN A RECALL FOR G6 MODELS IN GENERAL, BUT FOR SOME REASON, NOT FOR MY CAR, SPECIFICALLY?
MY STEERING WENT OUT OF KNOW WHERE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN NO WARNING AT ALL I WAS MAKING A TURN ON THE HIGHWAY INTO THE NEXT LANE AND IT JUST COULDN'T TURN THE WHEEL
PARENT WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH WHEN CAR BEEPED AND RADIO SCREEN READ 'POWER STEERING'. IMMEDIATELY THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE AND TURN, THE ISSUE IS STILL PRESENT AND HAS NOT GONE AWAY.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING 65 ON A FAIRLY STRAIGHT 65 MPH HWY. THE FAULTY PART IS THE TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY WICH THERE IS A RECALL ON FOR 2007 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED UP UNTIL JUNE 2016 I BELIEVE. GM RECALL # 14772....EXPANSION OF RECALL 14V-153. SHOULD RECALL INCLUDE ALL 2007 PONTIAC G6 VEHICLES AS THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
POWER STEERING MESSAGE POPS UP AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO TURN. THIS MAY HAPPEN WHEN YOU CRANK THE VEHICLE OR WILL HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. IT MAKES IT PULL TO THE SIDE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. ALSO, MY CAR HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS(FUEL PUMP) THE FUEL PUMP LEAKS FAST ONTO THE GAS TANK. THAT IS A FIRE HAZARD. IT IS ALSO HORRIBLE ON MY GAS MILEAGE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND IF THERE IS ONE ALREADY OR NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE OUT OF THIS VEHICLE. AND SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY ON IT. THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ELECTRIC BOX AND IT THROWS CODES FOR MULTIPLE PROBLEMS, AND WHEN THOSE PROBLEMS ARE FIXED IT DOESN'T HELP. IT'S COSTING PEOPLE MONEY FOR NOTHING.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING ON THE PONTIAC G6 2007 LOCKS UP WHILE DRIVING. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR ON NEIGHBORHOOD ROADS THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP AND STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT MORE EFFORT PUT INTO TURNING THE WHEEL A SMALL DIRECTION. THIS ISSUE ALSO HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN PARK AND JUST STARTING, OFTENTIMES RESTARTING CAR CAN FIX ISSUE TEMPORARILY
MY STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY GETS HARD TO MOVE. IT HAPPENS WHEN IM ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60+ MPH AND MY POWER STEERING PUMP JUST COMPLETELY GOVES OUT. I CAN PULL OVER AND TURN MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STOPS DOING IT TIL I GET BACK UP TO THE SPEED LIMIT. I WAS TOLD BY A REPAIR SHOP THAT MY POWER STEERING WAS COVERED BY A GM RECALL, AND I CANT GET ANYONE TO FIND THE RECALL INFORMATION. MY CONCERN IS WHY IS IT JUST A FEW MAKES RECALLED IF THE ENTIRE YEAR OF THAT MAKE AND MODEL ARE FAULTY.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE CAR AND IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND IT WAS HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED.
AIRBAG IS NOT ON WILL NOT TURN ON. THE ELECTRONIC MOTOR LIKE ALL THE OTHER RECALLS GM SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF IS GOING OUT AND LOCKING UP STEERING. I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO GET AN ATTORNEY AND FILE AGAINST GM FOR NOT TAKING CARE OF A DANGEROUS PROBLEM
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS THAT CONTROL POWER STEERING WEAKEN WHEN SWITCHING GEARS. POWER STEERING CAUSES LIGHTS TO DIM IN CAR AND HEADLAMPS OUTSIDE OF CAR AT NIGHT AND DURING THE DAY. LIGHTING FAILS ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CAUSING RIGHT TURN SIGNAL TO MALFUNCTION AND ENTIRE ASSEMBLY TO APPEAR DIM AND NOT AT ALL WHEN SIGNAL IS ACTIVATED. THIS OCCURS AT ALL TIMES OF VEHICLE USE: STATIONARY, CITY DRIVING, AND HIGHWAY DRIVING.
FOR AWHILE NOW MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AND MY NO TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT HAS BEEN BLINKING SO I HAD A FULL DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION DONE THAT READ NOTHING. AS A RESULT, I HAD THEM DO A FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING SINCE THERE IS A SMALL JERKY FEEL EVERY TIME I DRIVE. I ALSO HAD THEM DO A BREAK FLUID EXCHANGE BUT THE NO TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STILL BLINKS. ALONG WITH THAT, MOST TIMES AFTER FUELING UP MY CAR, MY CAR DRIVES WELL AND JUST FINE BUT ON SEPTEMBER 18TH, AFTER FUELING UP, I WAS TURNING INTO TRAFFIC PROCEEDING TO THE FARTHEST LANE SO THAT I CAN TURN LEFT INTO MY APARTMENTS THEN POP! AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE GEAR HAD LOCKED IN DRIVE. THIS SCARED ME SO BAD SO I BRAKED IN EVERY WAY I COULD HOPING I WOULDN'T CRASH THEN TRIED SHIFTING GEARS AND CRANKING MY CAR AGAIN. I GOT INTO THE GATES AND INTO THE PARKING LOT THEN MY CAR STALLED AND CUT OFF AGAIN. I FINALLY PARKED MY CAR, POPPED THE HOOD, AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG THAT I COULD SEE FROM MY VIEW. SO, THE NEXT DAY SEPTEMBER 19TH I DROVE TO CLASS THAT MORNING AND IT STALLED A BIT ANY TIME I INCREASED MY SPEED AS IF IT WANTED TO CUT OFF. I GOT INTO THE PARKING LOT OF MY COLLEGE AND IT CUTS OFF AS SOON AS I BEGIN TO TURN INTO A PARKING SPOT BETWEEN TWO CARS. I CRANK IT UP, COMPLETE MY PARK THEN I GO INSIDE FOR CLASS UNTIL LUNCH. ON LUNCH, I CRANK UP MY CAR AND WOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS FINALLY OFF BUT AS USUAL THE NO TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS BLINKING. I TEST DRIVE MY CAR TO THE LOCAL WINN DIXIE AND BACK AND ON THE WAY BACK POP! THEN IT STALLS TO CUT OFF BUT DOESN'T CUT OFF SO I TAKE IT BACK TO MY COLLEGE BEFORE LUNCH IS OVER AND PARK IT. NOW IT'S THE END OF THE DAY AND I'M OUT OF CLASS AND HEADED HOME. THIS TIME I MAKE IT INTO THE GATE BUT I'M GETTING CLOSE TO GOING OVER A SPEED BUMP AND POP! IT DOESN'T CUT OFF BUT IT'S STALLS BADLY LIKE IT WANTS TOO SO I PROCEED TO DRIVE THEN PARK IT. PLEASE, HELP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE BRAKE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CODE RELATED TO THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, A NEW BRAKE SWITCH WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN DRIVING AND GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. THIS IS OPPOSITE TO HOW IT SHOULD BE. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THIS AND APPARENTLY THE RECALL REPAIR WAS MADE. THERE ARE NO OUTSTANDING RECALLS ON THIS CAR. BUT THE BRAKE LIGHT PROBLEM HAS REAPPEARED SO THE REPAIR SEEMS INEFFECTIVE. I ENTERED TODAY'S DATE BELOW SINCE IT ASKS FOR A DATE, BUT THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN AND AT ALL SPEEDS.
DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT DUE TO FAULTY SOCKET/WIRING. WAS REPLACED INITIALLY BECAUSE FACTORY SOCKET MELTED AT BULB CONTACTS. HAVE REPLACED SOCKET TWICE NOW, BUT IF WIRES ARE AT A CERTAIN ANGLE GOING INTO THE SOCKET, THE HEADLIGHT WILL GO OUT. PROBLEM WILL USUALLY PRESENT ITSELF WHEN TURNING CAR ON, HAVE TO GET OUT AND GIVE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY A SMACK TO GET IT TO COME BACK ON. ALSO VERY LIMITED ROOM INSIDE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, LEAVING WIRING CRAMPED AT AN ODD ANGLE AND IN THE DIRECT PATH OF THE LOCKING MECHANISM FOR THE ACCESS CAP.
FUEL LEAKING ONTO TOP OF GAS TANK, ELBOW COMING OFF THE FUEL PUMP HAS DEVELOPED A PIN HOLE. STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE, CAR HARD TO START AFTER SITTING ANY LENGTH OF TIME. FUEL DRIPS ONTO EXHAUST.
TAKATA RECALL MY SON GAVE ME THIS VEHICLE AND IT SENT ME A WARNING ABOUT ENGINE LOSS WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES IT PICKS UP AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. I ALSO NOTICED IT DOESN'T HAVE A TRANSMISSION FLUID RESIVOIR. SOMETIMES THEIRS A GAS LEAK WHILE IDLE AND SOMETIMES THEY DON'T.
WATER GETTING INTO RIGHT REAR FLOOR BOARD. CAN NOT IDENTIFY FROM WHERE. HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, IT BEGAN TO REVERSE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND ROLLED INTO A LAKE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. BRADLEY CHEVROLET OF PARKER (2500 INDUSTRIAL PARK PLACE, PARKER, AZ 85344, (928) 754-0481) WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO BE REPAIRED PER TWO UNKNOWN RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BURNING/SHORTING OUT SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR ALMOST 5 YEARS AGO. USUALLY I JUST REPLACE THE BULB AND IT BURNS OUT SHORTLY BUT THEN WE HAD IT REWIRED. WORKED FOR A COUPLE MONTHS BUT THE WHOLE WIRING IS MESSED UP AGAIN AND THEY WANT TO TAKE THE BUMPER OFF TO SEE WHAT'S WRONG. TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH. I SEARCHED ON SOME FORUMS AND I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS HAD THIS ISSUE WITH THIS CAR.
BRAKE LIGHTS ARE WORKING IN REVERSE. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN YOU ARE NOT HITTING THE BRAKES AND THEY GO OUT WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE 2014 RECALL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM! IT WAS MERELY A BANDAID AND TEMPORARY FIX. ON MORE THAN 1 OCCASION, I HAVE SEEN THE CAR BEHIND ME FLY UP ON MY REAR END AND HAVE TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM! I DRIVE MY VEHICLE WITH MY CHILDREN IN IT. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I GET REAR ENDED AND SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE. I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUES ON CAR FORUMS, AFTER HAVING THE RECALL DONE, SO I KNOW IT IS NOT JUST MY CAR THAT HAS THE PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED IMMEDIATELY!

THERE IS A BUMPING OR CLUNKING NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED SLIGHTLY AT LOW SPEED OR WHILE STILL, AS IF THERE IS A LINKAGE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS CAR, AS GM HAS ISSUED TSB #06-02-32-007F. HOWEVER, SINCE THIS IS A STEERING ISSUE, SHOULDN'T THERE BE A RECALL TO CORRECT OR REPAIR?
