MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT BEING TOUCHED AND THEN GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS BEING PUSHED. THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH HAS BEEN REPLACED ALONG WITH VARIOUS OTHER ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH NO SUCCESS.
THE POWER STEERING ON MY VEHICLE CONTINUED TO FAIL AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING ALL LOSS OF POWER STEERING UNTIL THE CAR WAS RESTARTED. THIS RECALL IS LISTED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. WHEN I RETURNED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THAT SINCE THIS RECALL WAS RELEASED IN FEBRUARY 2016, WHICH WASN'T EVEN TRUE BASED OFF THE WEBSITE, THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST, AND THE REPAIRS WOULD BE OVER 1000 DOLLARS, AND ADDITIONAL 200 DOLLARS FOR THE TECHNICIAN CHECKING MY VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING MY PONTIAC G6 THROUGH MY NEIGHBORHOOD AROUND 30-35 MPH COMING DOWN A HILL THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE RAPIDLY WHERE I COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE THEN IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT AND HITS A PARK VAN. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, AND I GET SENT TO THE HOSPITAL. I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE REASONING OF THE CRASH BUT SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND STEERING COMPONENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE MECHANIC CHECKED THE WIRING AND THE FUSES; HOWEVER, WHEN THE MECHANIC TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A FACTORY DEFECT. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I STARTED MY CAR ON A COOL MORNING (60+ DEGREES) FROM PARKING OVERNIGHT AND PROCEEDED TO THE HIGHWAY. I HAS TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND STEERED RIGHT WITHOUT ACTUALLY PROCEEDING, WAITING FOR A VEHICLE TO PASS. THE MOMENT I STARTED TO PROCEED, MY STEERING LOCKED AND A SIGN CAME UP INDICATING POWER STEERING. I HAD TO USE ALL MY POWER TO ALIGN THE VEHICLE, WITH MORE VEHICLES PILING UP BEHIND ME. I WAS SUPPOSED TO MAKE A SHARP LEFT TURN AT THE LIGHT BUT PROCEEDED TO GO STRAIGHT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN UNTIL A GOT TO A STORE PARKING LOT THAT DID NOT REQUIRE A SHARP TURN TO GET MY CAR INTO. I EVENTUALLY PARKED AND CALLED FOR HELP. BUT THEN WHEN I DECIDED TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON, IT WAS NORMAL. THAT IS WHEN I CHECKED AND FOUND OUT THERE WERE RECALLS FOR YEARS PRIOR TO AND AFTER MY MODEL YEAR.
THE STEERING IN MY CAR STARTED TOSSING ME FROM SIDE TO SIDE. I FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO A SHOP 1 MILE AWAY ONLY TO FIND OUT THE SENSOR KIT AND MODULE KIT (STEERING ASSIST) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PONTIAC HAD A RECALL ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL BUT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT ONE OF THEM. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THERE HAS BEEN 404 COMPLAINTS FOR THIS EXACT REASON. THIS COULD END UP COSTING SOMEONE THEIR LIFE. WHEN SPEAKING WITH PONTIAC HE STATED MY CAR WAS NOT A PROBLEM??? I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH HIM FOR AN HOUR TRYING TO STRESS THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS ISSUE AND HE JUST CONTINUED TO ARGUE. MY CAR ONLY HAS 96000 MILES ON IT, HE ALSO STATED HAD I A VIN NUMBER THAT FELL INTO THEIR "MAGICAL" NUMBERS AND THE DEADLINE FOR THE CORRECTION WOULD HAVE BEEN MAY 31 BUT THE ISSUE HAPPENED JUNE 1ST THEY WOULD NOT HAVE FIXED IT. PONTIAC KNOWS THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE, THEY CHOOSE TO "PICK AND CHOOSE" WHICH VEHICLE THEY WILL FIX. I ALSO TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO HIM I KNOW HOW A MANUFACTURER WORKS SO THEIR "REASONS AND EXPLANATION" WAS NOT CORRECT. I STATED TO HIM: THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM OR THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY KIND OF A RECALL. I ALSO ASK HIM "WHAT IF SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED?" HE STATED "THEY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THEIR VEHICLE" NICE COMMENT FOR A BIG MANUFACTURER TO MAKE TO SOMEONE WHO IS LETTING THEM KNOW THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. EVERYONE NEEDS TO PUT IN THESE COMPLAINTS TO STOP THE BIG MANUFACTURERS FROM DOING THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING SEIZED. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT PERFORMED AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WHENEVER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE CAR WAS LEAKING FUEL FUMES INTO THE GARAGE. WE WERE HAVING TO RAISE THE GARAGE DOOR FOR FEAR OF A FIRE OR EXPLOSION BECAUSE THE FUMES WERE SO STRONG. THE CAR HAD A VERY HARD TIME STARTING AFTER SITTING SO THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANICS TOLD US THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE CARS.
BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. STILL NOT RIGHT. EVERY TIME I HIT THEM HARD THEY STICK.

WHEN THE CONTACT SWITCHED FROM THE REVERSE GEAR TO THE DRIVE GEAR, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED BACKWARDS. FAGAN AUTOMOTIVE IN JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN) HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,311.
MY CAR WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY MY PARENTS WAS TAKEN IN FOR A RECALL OF THE SHIFT CABLE. SINCE THE REPAIR OF THE SHIFT CABLE IT HAS BROKEN TWO MORE TIMES. ONCE WHILE IN MOTION TO PARK IN A DRIVEWAY WHERE MY HUSBAND ALMOST DROVE INTO THE GARAGE, THE OTHER TIME IT BROKE ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF LATER WHILE I WAS PARKING IT IN A PARKING LOT THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD ALMOST HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT. THE CAR NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS PART UNTIL IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY CORRECTED BY THE DEALER. IM AFRAID ITS GOING TO BREAK WHILE I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND I WONT BE ABLE TO STOP OR CONTROL THE CAR. WHEN THE SHIFT CABLE BROKE I COULD PUT THE CAR IN ANY POSITION THE SHIFTER JUST KEPT GOING UP AND DOWN IF I DIDN'T HAVE THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON I WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT. IF MY HUSBAND DIDN'T HAVE THE CAR WITH THE EMERGENCY BREAK HE WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE.I HAVE A PHOT OF THE BROKEN PART AND NOTIFIED GENERAL MOTORS TWICE SINCE THEY REPAIRED THE PART PRIOR TO IT BREAKING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BENNETT BUICK GMC (LOCATED AT 651 S OHIO ST, SALINA, KS 67401 (785) 823-6372) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG WAS FAULTY AND WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,967.
AIR BAG ON PANEL STAYS LIT ALL THE TIME, WHEN STARTING UP THE ENGINE. PASSENGER SIDE FOR ABOUT ONE SECOND COMES ON THEN GO OFF. STILL LIT ON PANEL. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BUT MECHANIC SAID THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON PANEL SHOULD GO OFF IT DID FOR AWHILE, NOW IT'S BACK ON AGAIN.
2 ISSUES 1ST IS PLASTIC TIMING CHAIN GUIDE BREAKS AND CAN CAUSE EXTREME DAMAGE TO CAR FOUND PIECES IN OIL PAN AND IN TIMING 2ND ISSUE IS STEERING LOCKS UP ALL OF A SUDDEN NOW USUALLY WHEN TURNING IT FEELS LIKE ITS JERKING TO THE OTHER SIDE OR SOMETHING IT FEELS LIKE POWER STEERING IS GONE HEARD A BUNCH OF COMPLAINTS BIT NO RECALL FOR MY VIN CANT IMAGINE GM RIPPING PEOPLE OFF........
TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT CABLE MALFUNCTIONED WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND SOMETHING BROKE,I THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SHIFT CABLE. ALSO MY BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON EVN WHEN I DON'T APPLY THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. AND ALSO MY STEERING IS HARD TO STEER OCCASIONALLY, WHICH MAKES IT DANGEROUS WHEN USING ON WINDY ROADS. BOTH IN THE CITY AND MOUNTAINMOUNTAIN HIGHWAYS. I HAD RECENTLY FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALLS WHEN I WAS TROUBLESHOOTING WHY MY TRANNY CABLE BROKE THE OTHER DAY. THE TRANSMISION FAILED JUST RECENTLY, THE OTHER SYMPTOMS STARTED HAPPENING ABOUT 0 TO 40 DAY AGO.
AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON ALL OF THE TIME AFTER STARTING THERE IS AN ODD WHISTLE TYPE NOISE THAT WE CANNOT FIGURE OUT. IT OCCURS WHEN ACCELERATING.
PONTIAC G6 FUEL LEAKING AND HARD TO START. I THINK THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED BY GM. IT IS REGISTERED IN NEVADA AND I READ AN ARTICLE THAT GM IS SUPPOSED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP BECAUSE OF A CRACK IN THE FUEL PUMP. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS DOES NOT COVER MY VEHICLE AND MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. THE FUEL MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE FOR A LEAKING FUEL SMELL. I THINK IN 2011. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS HAVING A FUEL PUMP LEAK.
ATER I START MY VECHICLE AND FASTEN MY SEAT BELT. TH THE AIRBAG NOTICE COMES ON EVEN IF I AM THE ONLY PASSENGER. I ALSO A KIND OF STIFFNESS IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE POWER STEERING FLUID IS FINE.

MY WIFE WAS PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A LOUD CLUNK AND MY POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST ALL POWER STEERING I HAD A HARD TIME STEERING THE CAR TO GET IT BACK IN THE DRIVEWAY I BELIEVE IT MAY BE RELATED TO GM RECALL 14772 SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING BUT HAVE NOT GOTTEN A RECALL LETTER
FRONT DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT KEEPS BLOWING OUT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES WHO HAD BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT FURTHER TESTING WAS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND PARKED DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT CALLED JACKSON CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 660 S MAIN ST, MIDDLETON, CT 06457, (860) 316-4063) WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE SOUNDED LIKE THE STEERING SHAFT. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
SMELT GASOLINE AROUND BACK OF CAR. HAPPENED ANYTIME...PARKED OR RUNNING. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS LEAKING ON TOP OF GAS TANK. SAID IT WOULD BE AROUND $800 TO FIX IT CAUSE THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TANK. MY CAR NOT UNDER THE RECALL.

EVENTUALLY, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RUBBER POWER STEERING HOSE MELTED FROM THE HOT EXHAUST AND POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY, MY BREAK LIGHTS TURNED ON. I FOUND THIS OUT BECAUSE I COULDN'T TURN ON MY CRUISE CONTROL. AFTER A WHILE I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE, BUT THEN PEOPLE KEPT PULLING ME OVER TELLING ME ABOUT MY BREAK LIGHTS. I WAS SO ANGRY THAT THEY KEPT COMING ON, I TOOK MY WARRANTY I GOT IN THE MAIL AND CAR TO A GM DEALER. THEY SAID THEY CAN'T FIX IT COMPLETELY BUT JUST RECALCULATED THE SYSTEM TO TURN THE LIGHTS OFF FOR A WHILE. I'M SO SICK OF MY BREAK LIGHTS COMING ON AT RANDOM TIMES. SOMETIMES ITS WHILE IM DRIVING, AND SOMETIMES THEY ARE ON ALREADY RIGHT AFTER I TURN ON MY KEY. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE GETTING THIS FIXED FOR FREE BECAUSE I'M SO WORRIED I MIGHT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT OR HARM SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW IF I'M STOPPING OR DRIVING. I WANT TO KEEP ME AND MY SON SAFE.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM STATING THE BODY CONTROL MODULE MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY AND CAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THE LIGHTS CAN EITHER STAY ON OR NOT COME ON WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE LETTER SAYS THEY WILL EXTEND WARRANTY COVERAGE BUT NOT REPAIR THE CAR UNLESS IT ACTUALLY FAILS. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NOT ACCEPTABLE. GM SHOULD BE MADE TO CORRECT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND RECALL THE VEHICLES. I CANNOT SEE THE IF THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE FUNCTIONING FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT.
LEFT PASSENGER HEADLIGHT CONSTANTLY GOES OUT. I HAVE REPLACED BULB SEVERAL TIMES BUT WHEN I TOOK TO THE SHOP THE PLUG WAS MELTED. I HAD TO BUY A REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHT ENSEMBLE. SEVERAL CARS THIS MODEL IS DRIVING AROUND WITH ONE HEADLIGHT ON DIM AND TWO ON BRIGHT.
WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION, THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING DISPLAYS, THE BELL WARNING SOUNDS THAT PASSENGER SEAT BELT ISN'T FASTENED WHEN THERE IS NO PASSENGER PRESENT AND NOTHING ON PASSENGER SEAT, INDICATING A FAULTY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY BUT IS OCCURRING WITH INCREASED FREQUENCY.
PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSING SYSTEM. AIR BAG MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A RECALL FOR CERTAIN 2007 PONTIAC G6 VINS BUT MINE IS NOT COVERED. SHOULD THE RECALL COVER MORE VINS IF I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS OTHER SAME YEAR MODEL G6'S?
THE POWER STEERING WILL TURN OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. RESTARTING THE CAR REACTIVATED THE POWER STEERING, THEN RANDOMLY WILL SHUT OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED AND WHETHER TURNING OR GOING STRAIGHT.
WE HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC G6, THE BASE 4 DOOR MODEL. THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 THE BELT IS STILL THERE AND AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS THE SENSOR STARTED WORKING AGAIN, BUT WHO KNOWS WHEN IT SWILL CUT OUT AGAIN. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS FOR 2007 PONTIAC G6 BUT OUR PARTICULAR VIN IS NOT LISTED. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE BUT FOR SOME REASON NHTSA HAS NOT EXPANDED THIS RECALL TO ALL 2007 G6 AND THE MANUFACTURER CAN CARE LESS. MY QUESTION IS AT WHAT POINT DOES NHTSA FORCE A MANUFACTURER TO RECALL SOMETHING THIS OBVIOUS? DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE AND THEIR FAMILY BE ON 20/20 BEFORE NHTSA MOVES THEIR BUREAUCRATIC ASSES? THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 WILL AT RANDOM TIMES LOSE THE POWER STEERING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET PULLED OFF OF THE ROAD WITHOUT POWER STEERING. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON 2007 G6'S BUT I WAS TOLD BY PONTIAC THAT MY CAR IS NOT ONE OF THE CARS RECALLED. I EXPLAINED THAT MY CAR IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL STATES HAPPENS BUT THEY STILL SAID MY CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. IT'A RISKY TO DRIVE THE CAR WHEN IT RANDOMLY DOES THIS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAYS GOING 70 MPH AS WELL AS ON CITY STREETS. MY ONLY OPTION ACCORDING TO PONTIAC IS TO PAY TO FIX IT MYSELF.

INCREASINGLY OVER THE LAST MONTH THERE HAS BEEN A STRONG SMELL OF GAS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. IT'S STRONGER WHEN STATIONARY. ONE MORNING THE SMELL HAD ENTERED OUR HOME FROM THE GARAGE WHICH IS NEXT TO MY DAUGHTERS ROOM. THE CAR HESITATES OR MAY NOT TURN OVER AT ALL WHEN TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AS OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS TYPE BUT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IT WAS ALSO PURCHASED AND IS STILL REGISTERED IN FLORIDA. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD CREATED BY GM SPECIFICATIONS.

"DEEP DIVE" RESEARCHING THIS TOPIC ONLINE SUGGESTS GM DID A FAILURE ANALYSIS AND KNOWS THE MYSTERIOUS WARNING LIGHT PROBLEM AND IT'S ROOT CAUSE. GM RECALLED JUST 359 INDIVIDUAL CARS OF MY TYPE AND VINTAGE. IRONICALLY, THE SAME RECALL COVERS MANY OTHER GM VEHICLE TYPES OF MULTIPLE YEAR MODELS. THERE ARE APPARENTLY AS MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS OUTSIDE THOSE OTHERWISE APPROVED FOR RECALL REPAIR. GM APPEARS TO BE FOLLOWING THE FIAT/CHRYSLER PLAYBOOK RELATED TO THE JEEP ZJ FUEL TANK RECALL IN THE LATER CASE. READING THE ACCIDENT EVENTS REPORTED AND INJURY RELATED TO WHAT APPEARS TO BE UNWARRANTED AND/OR ILLEGITIMATE G6 AIRBAG SERVICE AIRBAG / NON-DEPLOYMENT EVENTS, IT SOUND LIKE THERE MAY BE MORE THAN 359 EACH 2007 PONTIAC G6'S WITH SIMILAR BAD AIR BAG SENSORS THAT GM SHOULD OTHERWISE WANT TO AND UNILATERALLY WITH "ARMS WIDE OPEN" INVITE CUSTOMERS TO HAVE THEM MAKE THE SAFETY REPAIR UNDER THE SAME RECALL, OR JUST AS A CUSTOMER "GOOD WILL" GESTURE. REPAIR ESTIMATES I'VE READ ABOUT ARE UPWARDS OF $850 - $900. MEANWHILE, THERE ARE WEBSITES THAT WILL TAKE AND RESET THE AIRBAG SENSING MODULE FOR $45. CUSTOMERS APPARENTLY FOUND THE $45 RESET FIXES THE ISSUE SATISFACTORILY. WISHING GM WOULD GET BIGGER PANTS ON AND LOOK BEYOND THE LITTLE NUMBER AND INSTEAD THINK INSTEAD ABOUT THE POTENTIAL "BIG NUMBER", AS FIAT/CHRYSLER LEARNED ABOUT IN THIER 1986 - 1988 GRAND CHEROKEE ZJ CASE... THE POWER STEERING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON IN MY 2007 PONTIAC G6 AFTER A MINUTE OF BEING ON THE ROAD IN MOTION MAKING THE STEERING ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. IT'S HAPPENED ON BOTH THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED. IT CAUSED ME TO ALMOST HAVE TWO ACCIDENTS ALREADY! BUT THERE IS NO WHERE TO ADD THE STEERING FLUID. I TOOK IT TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO RESERVOIR FOR POWER STEERING FLUID IN THE CAR & THAT ITS A STEERING COLUMN ISSUE THAT'S OVER $1000 TO REPAIR. THE DEALERS SAY IT'S A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT GM DEALER TO CHECK FOR A RECALL. I CALL VARIOUS GM DEALERS AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THAT. THIS IS REDICULOUS. IT IS NOT SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE THIS CAR THE WAY IT IS & IT IS THEIR FAULT THAT THIS IS HAPPENING! I'VE ALWAYS PREFERRED TO BUY AMERICAN CARS BUT THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FROM THE AMERICAN COMPANIES!! I WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY PROBABLY AROUND 50 MPH AND THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING. I TURNED IT OFF AND ON IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN. I WAS OUT ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 75 AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I T HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT EVER SENSE.
"SERVICE AIR BAG" COMES ACROSS THE DIC INDICATING IT NEEDS SERVICE DONE TO IT. TURN VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AND THE LIGHT GOES AWAY. IF THE CAR IS TURNED ON (TRIED MANY TIMES) AND SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE SERVICE MESSAGE COMES ON AFTER A FEW TRIES. ALL CONNECTORS HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND LIQUIDS HAVE NOT BEEN SPILLED ON THE SEATS.

MY CAR HAS A STRONG GAS SMELL ON TH BACK PASSENGER SIDE. IT'S HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR ALMOST A YEAR. I'M FINALLY ABLE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND HOPEFULLY FIXED AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. THE SMELL OF GAS IS SO STRONG IT IS NAUSEATING AND CAN BE SMELLED SEVERAL FEET AWAY FROM THE CAR. I'M WORRIED THAT THERE IS A GAS LEAK AND IT IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE TO TRANSPORT MY THREE CHILDREN. I'VE NOTICED THE SMELL SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN PARKED BUT GAS CAN BE SMELT INSIDE THE CAR WHILE DRIVING AS WELL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
