TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT SMELLED A FUEL ODOR WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

POWER STEERING NOT WORKING, BRAKES SOMETIMES GOES TOO LOW TO THE FLOOR & PEDEL SENSOR HAS GONE OFF MAKING CAR ACCELERATE AT TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE YOKE IN THE STEERING COLUMN WAS IN PLAY. IF THE YOKE WERE TO FRACTURE, THERE WOULD BE A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED BROWN BUICK GMC (4300 S GEORGIA ST, AMARILLO, TX 79110, (806) 353-7211) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE BEGAN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THREE YEARS AGO. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 176,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
MY POWER STEERING PUMP HAS BROKE 3 TIMES NOW IN A YEAR. MY TRANCTION CONTROL AND ELECTRIC SYSTEMS WORK WHEN THEY WANT TO
STRONG FUEL/GAS ODOR COMING FROM CAR WHEN DRIVING AND MORE SO WHEN IT IS TURNED OFF AND PARKED IN A GARAGE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD, IN THAT A FIRE COULD DEVELOP. I HAVE NOTED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. I FEEL GM SHOULD PROVIDE A FREE REPAIR. THE CAR HAS 58000 MILES. MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE IT THE HARNESS WAS MELTED AND ALMOST CAUGHT FIRE...WE CHANGED THE HARNESS OUT AND IT STILL WILL NOT WORK I AM SICK OF GETTING PULLED OVER FOR MY LIGHT BEING OUT..I ALSO HAVE PICTURE OF THE OLD HARNESS THAT WAS ON THE CAR FROM WHERE I GOT IT FROM..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED. THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED. ON SOME OCCASIONS, THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT ENGAGED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL); HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,400.
THE STEERING HOSE IT TOO CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST.....IT BUST MY STEERING HOSE 2 TIMES WHICH CAUSE MY CAR TO SMOKE AND CATCH FIRE DUE TO THE FLUID LEAKING ON EXHAUST....I WAS ABLE TO GET IT OUT AND REPLACE THE HOSE AGAIN AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN....
STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE, CAN NOT PARK IN GARAGE IT IS SO STRONG
THERE WAS ALREADY A RECALL ON THE DYSFUNCTION OF THE BRAKE LIGHTS. I GOT IT FIXED, ACCORDING TO THE RECALL. ALL SEEMED WELL, BUT I AM NOW ABOUT A YEAR (LONGER?) AFTER THE RECALL AND IT SEEMS TO NOT HAVE WORKED. I KNOW, VERY WELL, OF SOMEONE WHO OWNS A YEAR LATER OF THE SAME CAR, HAD THE SAME RECALL, AND IT ALSO ENDED UP GOING BACK TO THE MALFUNCTIONING. I KNOW TOO WELL, A SERVICE ISN'T GUARANTEED AFTER A YEAR. WHERE DOES A RECALL, THAT DIDN'T GET FIXED PROPERLY, HAVE A TIME LIMIT ON GETTING FIXED!
STRONG FUEL SMELL COMING FROM REAR OF VEHICLE. THIS APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO THE PLASTIC ELBOW GM USED IN THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2007 G5 MODELS AND OTHER GM VEHICLES AND HAVE ACTIVE RECALLS IN PLACE. THERE ARE SEVERAL NHTSA COMPLAINTS FOR THIS PROBLEM AND SAME MODEL/YEAR VEHICLE AS MINE. CONTACTED GM AND THEY REFUSE TO TAKE ANY ACTION AT THIS TIME. THE DEALER COST TO REPAIR THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT IS APPROXIMATELY $800.00. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT GM IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THIS ISSUE AND IS REFUSING TO TAKE ACTION. IS THIS GOING TO REMAIN OPEN UNTIL THERE IS A FATALITY CAUSED BY THIS KNOWN ISSUE?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09E005000 (STEERING), BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 134,000.
WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKES IN THE CAR THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF. NOT NOTIFYING THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME THAT I AM STOPPING. WHEN BRAKES IS RELEASED THE BRAKE LIGHTS IN THE BACK OF THE CAR WOULD THEN COME ON.
FUEL SMELL OVERWHELMING IN GARAGE
I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW. IT IS A PONTIAC G 6 GT CONVERTIBLE WITH AN OPTIONAL GTP HIGH OUTPUT ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN. THIS IS A TOP OF THE LINE VEHICLE WITH ALL OPTIONS. SINCE NEW, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STEER WELL. IT LURCHES UNEXPECTEDLY FROM SIDE TO SIDE WHEN GOING AROUND TURNS OR JUST STRAIGHT AHEAD. IT HAS BEEN VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND ONLY HAS 28,000 MILES ON IT AS OF TODAY. IT IS STILL IN THE 36,000 MILE GM WARRANTY PERIOD. THERE HAS BEEN A SNAPPING/POPPING NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL/COLUMN SINCE NEW WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL FROM SIDE TO SIDE, SITTING STILL OR DRIVING. THE STEERING FEELS VERY UNSTABLE. RECENTLY THE VEHICLE STARTED CONSTANTLY PULLING TO THE RIGHT. IF I LET OFF THE STEERING WHEEL IT WILL DRIVE OFF THE ROAD. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BACK AND FORTH AND THE STEERING FEELS LOOSE AND BUMPY. THE ENTIRE STEERING SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE WHEELS. THIS STEERING IS ELECTRIC. THE PARTS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. THE RACK AND PINION IS ALSO MAKING NOISE AND BUMPY, NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THE WHEELS APPEAR OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND THE TIRES APPEAR TO BE WEARING ON THE OUTSIDE EDGES. THIS IS BASICALLY A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN KEPT IN A GARAGE IN FLORIDA. NO RUST. LOOKS AND DRIVES NEW. EXCEPT FOR THE ELECTRIC STEERING SYSTEM. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. INTERNET SEARCH AND DEALER PHONE CALL CONFIRMED THAT. GM HAS SEVERAL RECALLS AND EXTENDED WARRANTIES FOR THIS, BUT MY CAR DOES NOT QUALIFY. THE STEERING SYSTEM IS MAINTENANCE FREE. THERE IS NOTHING THE CUSTOMER CAN DO. THE STEERING COLUMN SENSOR RING IS DEFECTIVE ALSO. THE UPPER STEERING COLUMN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ALSO. THIS COULD COST WELL OVER A $1500 JUST FOR PARTS. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT STEERS IT SELF. THE TRACTION CONTROL SEEMS DEFECTIVE AND UNRELIABLE ALSO.
AT RANDOM TIMES (EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED), THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ALERT LIGHT ILLUMINATES (ACCOMPANIED BY A 3-TONE ALERT) AND A DASH MESSAGE SAYING "SERVICE AIR BAG." THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THIS AS A FAULTY PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR. THERE IS BEEN A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THESE SENSORS (GM RECALL NO. 06143; NHTSA CAMPAIGN #07V146000), BUT IT WAS LIMITED TO 359 VEHICLES. MY VEHICLE'S VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL, SO THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR FREE OF CHARGE, QUOTING $900 FOR REPAIR/REPLACEMENT. A SEARCH ON SAFERCAR.GOV WEBSITE SHOWS 81 OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT 2007 PONTIAC G6 AIRBAGS AS OF 9-27-2016, MANY WITH SIMILAR SYMPTOMS TO MY VEHICLE, SO THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY PROBLEMS WITH PONTIAC'S AIRBAG SENSORS SYSTEMS THAT EXTEND BEYOND THE INITIAL RECALL. SINCE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT PONTIAC EXTEND THE RECALL TO INCLUDE THE ADDITIONAL VEHICLES AFFECTED. A CONVERSATION WITH PONTIAC YIELDED A TYPICAL RESPONSE: "YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE INITIAL RECALL, SO THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO."
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH ON HIGHWAY RIGHT LINE ALMOST AT MY EXIT . THE GPS FELL FROM THE WINDOW AND MUST OF HIT THE AREA OF THE SHIFT COLUMN IT DIDN'T COME OUT OF DRIVE THOUGH. THE CAR SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE OVER TO THE SHOULDER PUSH THE FLASHES AND EMERGENCY BREAK WHEN THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK JUST A LARGE NOSE STEERING DIDN'T WORK WELL. BRINGING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM CHECK THE STEERING COLUMN OUT AGAIN. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING I FEEL THIS IS A PART OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL IN 2015 THAT LISTED THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR PONTIAC G6 2007 MASSACHUSETTS ROUTE 2 WEST LEOMINSTER. MA. RESTARTED THE CAR, GOT TO MY DESTINATION, AND DROVE HOME THAT NIGHT LOWER SPEEDS.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE CONTACTED YOU ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS REGARDING THIS MATTER. THE AIR BAGS AND BRAKES (FRONT/REAR) ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE AB LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY BLANKING THE WORDS "NEEDS TO BE SERVICED" AND I'VE HAD THE BRAKES REPAIRED AND STILL HEAR A NOISE UPON IMPACT.
WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY AS I TURN THE WHEEL EITHER WAY I HERE A CLACKING NOISE. I THOUGHT IT WAS MY C.V. AXLES BUT MY JOINTS ARE STILL SEALED. SO I BEGAN TO THINK IT WAS MY STEERING COLUMN BECAUSE AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TURNING IT FOR REALLY REALLY HARD TO TURN THEN A LOAD CLACK THEN IT WOULD PASS THE STRESS POINT TURN EASIER BUT STILL MAKE THE CLACKING NOISE WHEN TURNING IT BACK. THAT WOULD HAPPEN IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, AND SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

THE HARDTOP HAS NO POWER IT RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE IS BAD I CAN'T DRIVE IT IT GOT A DIC CODE SAYING TOP INSURCURE TRUNK INSURCURE.
I COULD NOT TAKE MY CAR OUT OF PARK THE FIRST TIME I TRIED BECAUSE THE BUTTON WOULDN'T PRESS DOWN. I PRESSED THE BREAK HARDER AND THE BREAK HAD A WEIRD MOVING/VIBRATING FEEL, BUT THE BUTTON EVENTUALLY PRESSED DOWN AND THE VEHICLE WENT INTO DRIVE. I KNOW I GOT IT TO DRIVE, BUT AFRAID OTHER THINGS MIGHT BE AFFECTED.
STRONG GAS ODOR FROM CAR WHILE CAR IN RUNNING AND AFTER CAR IS STOPPED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODEP0446 EMISSION SYSTEM VENT SOLENOID REPLACEMENT VIA AUTO ZONE CODE SYSTEM READER. GAS FOUND SITTING ON TOP OF GAS TANK.
THERE WAS RECALL ON THIS CAR FOR TRANSMISSION CABLE THAT CAUSED MAY HAVE CAUSED THE SHIFTER TO NOT PROPERLY STAY IN GEAR. MY CAR DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE, BUT THE RECALL WAS FIXED ANYWAYS. A YEAR AND HALF AFTER RECALL WAS FIXED THE PROBLEM ACTUALLY HAPPENED DESPITE SO CALLED BEING "FIXED". I CALLED GM TO REPORT THIS AND THEY STATED THEY COULD ONLY DO SOMETHING A YEAR AFTER THE RECALL SO I AM 6 MONTHS OUT OF THIS. EITHER THEIR FIX DIDN'T WORK OR THEIR FIXED CAUSED THE PROBLEM. EITHER WAY MY CAR IS NOW COMPLETELY INOPERABLE AND I'M BEING FORCED TO FIX THIS OUT OF POCKET. I'M HOPING YOU CAN POSSIBLY HELP GET GM TO ACTUALLY FIX THIS PROBLEM AS IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED. I CAN GET THE COPIES OF RECALL AND IT ACTUALLY BEING FIXED IF NECESSARY. HOW THE PROBLEM HAPPENED: CAR WAS PARKED IN PARK POSITION AT A PARKING LOT. ONCE STARTED, AND FOOT APPLIED TO BRAKE PEDAL, TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WOULD FREELY MOVE INSTEAD OF SHIFTING PROPERLY. IT WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AS IT WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN PARKED. THANK YOU. I HAD CAR IN FOR RECALL OF SHIFT CABLE IN 2014. ON AUGUST 4 2016 I WENT TO PARK CAR AND THERE WERE NO GEARS, CAR ROLLED INTO A FENCE BEFORE I COULD GET IT STOPPED. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT CAR. HE FOUND WHAT WAS WRONG, WHICH IS PART OF SHIFT CABLE THAT WAS RECALLED. I WAS TOLD THE SHIFT CABLE WAS NOT REPLACED AS THE PARTS ARE ORIGINAL. I HAVE PICTURES OF ORIGINAL PART ON MY CAR. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE SHIFT CABLE TO BE REPLACED PROPERLY BUT HAVE GOTTEN NOWHERE WITH ANY DEALERS, INCLUDING THE DEALER WHO SUPPOSEDLY FIXED PART IN 2014. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE TO FIX PART ON MY OWN. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! I'VE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS (4) TO WHERE MY POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT. I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL PROPERLY. I'VE HAD TO GET THIS FIX MULTIPLE OF TIMES AND DECIDED TO CHECK AND SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR IT. I DON'T SEE IT SO I DECIDED TO RIGHT A REVIEW ABOUT IT. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE NOT JUST ME THAT FEARS FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO THEM. ALSO, THE DRIVER (FRONT) AND BRAKE/REVERSE LIGHTS HAS WENT OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CROSS OVER PIPE AND ACCESSORY DRIVE-IN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
STEERING WHEEL SHAKES INTERMITTENTLY AND STEERING IS HARD AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. SHAKING OCCURS SOMETIMES WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED. OTHER MODELS OF THE G6 HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUES BUT I HAVE NOT SEEN A RECALL FOR THE 2007 MODELS.
WHEN I VISITED A REPUTABLE BRAKE SHOP FOR A BRAKE CHECK, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD A GASOLINE LEAK NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO ANOTHER BRAKE SHOP WHICH DROPPED MY GASOLINE TANK, ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT MY VEHICLE HAD A LEAKY FUEL PUMP. BEFORE THIS BRAKE SHOP WORKED ON MY VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT HE WAS ALMOST SURE THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD BEEN RECALLED. I PROCEEDED TO GO TO BRIAN HARRIS CHEVROLET, WHERE THE SERVICE MANAGER CHECKED MY VIN NUMBER, ONLY TO INFORM ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT HAVE A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP. I WAS TOLD THAT GENERAL MOTORS WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT, EVEN IF IT WAS NOT REPLACED AT A DEALERSHIP, IF THE FUEL PUMP MIGHT BE RECALLED IN THE FUTURE. I WENT BACK TO THE OTHER FACILITY FOR THE FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT AS A RESULT. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THAT GENERAL MOTORS HAD RECALLED PONTIAC G6'S FOR THE MODEL YEARS 2004-2008. MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN SMELLING OF GASOLINE FOR AWHILE WHEN STATIONARY AND I DID NOT KNOW WHY. MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT ONE MONTH PRIOR, WHERE I HAD A FUEL SENSOR CODE PULLED. ABOUT ONE WEEK LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. MY LEAKING FUEL PUMP WAS ONLY DISCOVERED ABOUT ONE MONTH LATER, ONLY BECAUSE I HAPPENED TO GO GET MY BRAKES CHECKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE VEHICLE SWERVED TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 165,000.
THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT CONTINUOUSLY GOES OUT DUE TO THE WIRING SHORTING OUT. I DISCOVERED THE BURN AFTER REPLACING THE PASSENGER LOWBEAM BULB SEVERAL TIMES. THE HEADLIGHT SOCKET HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. THE WIRING HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE LIGHT WILL WORK FOR ONE DAY AND GO RIGHT BACK OUT DUE TO SOMETHING BURNING OUT THE WIRE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS BECOME A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST THE G6 LINE. A RECALL AND FIX SHOULD BE PROVIDED.
1) POWER STEERING UNIT SEEMS TO BE GOING IN OUT WHILE DRIVING. AFTER IT ACTS UP THERE IS A LOT OF PLAT IN THE STEERING UNTIL THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON SAME YEAR MODEL OF G6'S FOR SAME ISSUE. STARTED LAST SUMMER THEN STOPPED OVER THE WINTER, THEN STARTED AGAIN THIS SPRING. 2) PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DOESN'T WORK ALL OF THE TIME, OR WILL SHUT OFF WHILE SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. KNOW RECALL ON OTHER MODELS OF SAME YEAR LIKE ABOVE. HAS DONE THIS SINCE WE BOUGHT IT FROM THE DEALER. THEY TOLD US IT WOULD COST US $$$$ TO FIX IT.
MY HEADLIGHT BURNED OUT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CAR. I REPLACED IT AND IT LASTED ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND THEN BURNED OUT AGAIN. FOUND THE SOCKET MELTED AND BURNED UP REAL BAD. I REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT SOCKET ASSEMBLY AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND THEN WOULD COME ON ONLY WHEN I SLAMMED THE HOOD (SOMETIMES.) AND THEN STOPPED WORKING FOR GOOD. THE BRIGHT LIGHT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CAR WORKED FINE UP UNTIL THEN, BUT SOON AFTER WENT OUT SO I REPLACED THAT BULB AND SOCKET ASSEMBLY WITH NO RESULT. NEITHER BRIGHT NOR DIM LIGHT WORKS ON DRIVER'S SIDE. I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY IT'S DOING IT, AND NONE OF THE MECHANICS I'VE BEEN TO HAVE ANY IDEA WHY THE HEADLIGHTS AREN'T FUNCTIONING PROPERLY (AT ALL.) IT'S FRUSTRATING. IT'S DANGEROUS. AND IT HAS COST ME MORE MONEY THAN LIGHTS SHOULD EVER COST A PERSON. I HAVEN'T DRIVEN THE CAR IN MONTHS BECAUSE I'M TIRED OF GETTING PULLED OVER. IT SUCKS AND I STILL AM PAYING ON THIS CAR AND CAN'T EVEN USE IT. I HATE PONTIAC. GM NEEDS TO SHUTDOWN. NEVER BEEN SATISFIED WITH A GM VEHICLE.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES AND WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKES THE LIGHTS COME ON. THIS IS A RECALL ON MY CAR THAT HAS BEEN FIXED 2 TIMES ALREADY. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME, 'THIS PART IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE', A WEEK LATER. NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 3 WEEKS. I HAVE INCURRED $ 1400. IN AUTO RENTAL FEES. THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED A MASS SEARCH FOR THE PART AS DID I, TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE TALKED WITH MORE THAN 20 PONTIAC/GM DEALERS AROUND THE U.S. THEY ALL STATE; "WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY GM TO SAY - THE PART NO LONGER EXIST AND IS NOT AVAILABLE" I WAS ALWAYS TOLD: "BY LAW AN AUTO MANUFACTURE MUST MAKE REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE FOR UP TO 10 YEARS. THE PARTS MANUFACTURE, KARMANN MADE THE PART FOR GM. THEY MAY HAVE THE PART IN THEIR WAREHOUSE. BUT, ACCORDING TO THEIR EMPLOYEE, GM WILL NOT GIVE THEIR PERMISSION TO SELL IT - EVEN TO A GM DEALER. THE WORST THING IS: I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH OVER 25 PARTS DEALERS AND THEY ALL HAVE SAID: "YOU ARE ONE OF HUNDREDS OF CALLS WE ARE GETTING ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM".. I AM A SINGLE HARDWORKING MOTHER WHO WAS FINALLY ABLE TO PURCHASE HERSELF A DREAM VEHICLE, ONLY TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN WITH NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. PLEASE ASSIST ME TO GET THE PART, OR BUY BACK THE VEHICLE AND RETURN MY INCURRED COSTS OF $13,500.
THIS CAR WAS RECALLED IN 2014 FOR A BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE. THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME UNTIL YOU APPLY THE BRAKES. THE LIGHTS GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. GM SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED THIS PROBLEM IN 2014 BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME NOW. MY LOCAL DEALER HAS TOLD ME THIS IS A DIFFERENT ISSUE AND IT WILL COST $400.00 TO FIX IT. I HAVE TALKED TO 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AT GM BUT THEY WILL NOT RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I OWN 5 GM VEHICLES BUT WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT

IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND A BEEPING NOISE WAS PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CERTIFIED INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,910.
I HAD A RECALL FIXED (I THOUGHT) IN OCTOBER 2014 WITH THE TRANSMISSION CABLE AND BRACKET. ON APRIL 11TH 2016 THIS ITEM FAILED ON MY CAR. I'VE OWNED THIS 2007 G6 FOR 7 YEARS PRIOR TO THE RECALL WITH NO ISSUES. I CALLED THE DEALER TO PURCHASE THE CONNECTER THAT BROKE AND LEFT MY CAR IN REVERSE AFTER BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT TURNING MY WHEEL TO THE RIGHT. THEY SAY I HAVE TO BUY THE WHOLE CABLE THEY REPLACED JUST ONE YEAR AND 6 MONTHS AGO. I CALLED THE DEALER THAT MADE THE RECALL REPAIR AND THEY SAID THE REPAIR WARRANTY IS ONLY GOOD FOR A YEAR. IN MY OPINION THEIR FIX IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM. I CAN DRIVE IT FOR OVER SEVEN YEARS WITH NO ISSUES, BUT THE "FIX" IS ONLY GOOD FOR A YEAR AND A HALF? I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AT A RESTAURANT AFTER TAKING MY DAUGHTER TO SUPPER. I STOPPED AND PUT IT IN DRIVE THEN WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKE AND APPLIED THE GAS MY CAR STAYED IN REVERSE ALMOST HITTING THE PEDESTRIAN THAT WALKED BEHIND MY CAR WALKING TO THEIR CAR. I COULD NOT PUT IT IN PARK AND WAS ON A SLIGHT HILL WITH TRAFFIC PULLING INTO THE RESTAURANT. I HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND TRY TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND PUSH IT BACK INTO THE PARKING SPOT. MY CAR ALMOST RAN OVER ME BECAUSE IT WAS LOCKED IN REVERSE. I ENDED UP LETTING THE CARS PASS ME THAT WERE TRYING TO TURN IN TO GO THROUGH THE DRIVE THRU. I HAD TO BACK OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND INTO THE STREET IN REVERSE AND BACK IT INTO THE EXIT OF THE RESTAURANT AND PARK MY CAR IN A SPOT ON THE OTHER SIDE TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY AND BACK OUT OF THE STREET. I FEEL THE "RECALL FIX" IS MORE DANGEROUS AND NOT A FIX AT ALL. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN TALK TO ME ABOUT THE REPAIR BECAUSE IT WAS OVER ONE YEAR SINCE THE RECALL REPLACEMENT PART WAS INSTALLED. I FEEL GM HAS ENGINEERED MORE DANGER INTO THIS AND NOT FIXING A PROBLEM, BUT CREATING REVENUE FOR THEM IN MORE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND SERVICE CHARGES.

BEFORE THE STEERING WENT OUT, THE STEERING WHEEL ITSELF WAS SHAKING BACK AND FORTH WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WHILE I WAS PARKED. I TURNED MY VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON, AND THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING AGAIN ONLY TO TURN OFF, ONCE AGAIN, WHILE I WAS DRIVING.
