THE AIRBAG SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOESN'T WORK IT COMES ON WHEN WE ARE SITTING IN THE SEAT WITH THE SEATBELT FASTEN WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO FIX IT OURSELVES WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO DO THIS. IF WE ARE IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAG DOESN'T DEPLOY THEN SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT BAD AND THEN THERE IS GOING TO BE A LAWSUIT I HOPE THAT YOU CAN GET A RECALL ON THIS SO I CAN GET IT FIXED
TAKATA RECALL THE AIR BAG SENSIOR
REPLACEMENT PART (CABLE KIT # 23238001) UNDER RECALL 14152 HAS SUBSEQUENTLY FAILED AND AS A RESULT HAS NOT REMEDIED THE ORIGINAL SAFETY CONCERN WHICH STATES, "IF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FRACTURES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTION MAY NOT MATCH THE INDICATED GEAR AND THE VEHICLE MAY MOVE IN AN UNINTENDED OR UNEXPECTED DIRECTION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. FURTHERMORE, WHEN THE DRIVER GOES TO STOP AND PARK THE VEHICLE, DESPITE SELECTING THE 'PARK' POSITION, THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN 'PARK.' IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE "PARK" POSITION THERE IS A RISK THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL AWAY AS THE DRIVER AND OTHER OCCUPANTS EXIT THE VEHICLE OR ANYTIME THEREAFTER. A VEHICLE ROLLAWAY INCREASES THE RISK OF INJURY TO EXITING OCCUPANTS AND BYSTANDERS." THE ISSUE IS RELATED TO A FAILURE OF A RETAINING RING AT THE ENGINE END OF THE CABLE LINKAGE THAT IS TO SECURELY ATTACH TO A POST ON THE TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE FORTUNATELY WAS ON LEVEL GROUND AND STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF DISCOVERY. VEHICLE WOULD START NORMALLY BUT COULD NOT BE PUT IN GEAR DUE TO THE ISSUE. REQUESTED DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE UNDER THE RECALL BUT DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE SINCE IT WAS ALREADY REPLACED ONCE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A TORQUE SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,800.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING ON 2/18/16 WHEN MY STEERING MALFUNCTIONED. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING AND HIT ANOTHER CAR. LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO GAIN SOME TYPE OF CONTROL SO I HAD A MINOR ACCIDENT. ON WHICTIA IN FORT WORTH,TEXAS. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH GM SINCE MY CAR STEERING, SHIFTING CABLES AND OTHER RECALLS OCCURED SINCE 2014. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT. ON 3/3/16 I CONTACTED THEM IN REGARDS TO THE MANNER, TELLING THEM ABOUT THE INCIDENTS ALONG WITH THE CASE NUMBER
EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR THE HEADLIGHTS NEVER STAY ON. IT'S EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER, NO MATTER HOW OFTEN I REPLACE THEM, ONE GOES OUT. IT'S DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR WITH ONE HEADLIGHT. I'VE HAD IT "FIXED" SEVERAL TIMES, EVEN THE WIRING. DESPITE MY ATTEMPTS, I STILL ALWAYS ONLY HAVE ONE HEADLIGHT.
TAKATA RECALL FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN RANDOMLY DYING. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY EVERYTHING LOCKED UP I COULDN'T STOP, COULDN'T BRAKE, THE ENGINE SEIZED AND I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS MOVING IN BOTH DIRECTIONS BY ITSELF, THEN LOCKED UP. I HAD TO GET OUT AND PUSH THE CAR INTO A SAFE PLACE AND WAS UNABLE TO RE-START IT.
I AM GREATLY IN NEED OF YOUR ASSISTANCE. I OWN A 2007 PONTIAC G6 HARDTOP CONVERTIBLE. I PURCHASED IT IN JANUARY 2016. ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE, I TRIED TO PUT THE TOP UP . ON ITS WAY TO CLOSING AND LOCKING ITS MECHANISM CAUSED A MALFUNCTION AND BROKE THE PART NUMBER 25887153 AWAY. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER @ GM OF VACAVILLE, CA. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME, 'THIS PART IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE', & THEY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 3 WEEKS. I HAVE INCURRED $ 1400. IN AUTO RENTAL FEES. I HAVE TALKED WITH MORE THAN 20 PONTIAC DEALERS ALL STATE; "WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY GM TO SAY - THE PART NO LONGER EXIST AND IS NOT AVAILABLE"THE PARTS MANUFACTURE, KARMANN MADE THE PART FOR GM. THEY MAY HAVE THE PART IN THEIR WAREHOUSE. BUT, ACCORDING TO THEIR EMPLOYEE, GM WILL NOT GIVE THEIR PERMISSION TO SELL IT THE WORST THING IS: I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH OVER 25 PARTS DEALERS I CALLED GM AT 1-866-790-5600 EXT. 5914235 AND SPOKE WITH NATALIE. SHE ATTEMPTED TO ASSIST BUT AFTER NO PROGRESS . A MALE ANSWERED THE PHONE HE INDICATED THAT HE WAS HER SUPERVISOR, HOWEVER REFUTED TO GIVE ME HIS NAME, AND THEN STATED, 'IT'S NOT AVAILABLE, THE PART IS DISCONTINUED, AND PONTIAC DOESN'T EXIST SO GET OVER IT, OR DEAL WITH IT! IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM, IT'S YOURS, AND YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A WARRANTY CAUSE ITS EXPIRED.' HE SLAMMED THE PHONE DOWN IN MY EAR. PLEASE ASSIST ME TO GET THE PART, OR BUY BACK THE VEHICLE AND RETURN MY INCURRED COSTS OF $13,500.THE "TOP IS NOT SECURE" HAS LEFT NO OPTION BUT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE G6 IS GARAGED AND UNDRIVABLE
A RECALL HAD BEEN DONE ON THE GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY FOR THIS VEHICLE WHICH I HAD REPLACED THROUGH RECALL ON 12/31/14 HOWEVER 1 YEAR AND 25 DAYS LATER THE GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY DID EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED TO FIX. I WENT TO PARK THE VEHICLE AND THE GEAR SHIFT SLID EASILY INTO PARK BUT THE CAR KEPT ROLLING, NOT RECOGNIZING THE GEAR WAS PLACED IN PARK. UPON SHUTTING OFF THE CAR, IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN AS IF IT WAS IN GEAR. THE SHIFT SLIDES EASILY FROM PARK ALL THE WAY DOWN, NOT RECOGNIZING THE GEARS. THE PROBLEM REMAINS THAT ONCE THE RECALL WAS FIXED AND A YEAR PAST THEN THE HONORING OF FIXING THE PROBLEM IS NOT DONE.
I HAD NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE WHILE IN A STOPPED POSITION AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND THEN THERE WAS A CHIME WHILE DRIVING AT 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE AND I NOTICED THE RADIO READOUT INDICATED AN ALARM OF POWER STEERING. IT WOULD RESET IF I TURNED KEY OFF AND ON AT FIRST, BUT NOW IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE POWER STEERING TO WORK AT ALL. I CALLED A TOLL FREE NUMBER THAT I HAD FOUND ONLINE FOR PONTIAC RECALLS AND SPOKE TO AN OPERATOR. HE TOOK THE LAST EIGHT DIGITS OF MY VIN AND RETURNED A SHORT TIME LATER AND SAID THAT THERE WERE NO EXISTING RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE. I HAVE ALMOST 194,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE NOW AND PURCHASED IT WHEN IT HAD ABOUT 163,000 MILES ON IT. THE PREVIOUS OWNER TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD RESPONDED TO ALL RECALL NOTICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAR, BUT HE COULDN'T REMEMBER IF IT WAS EVER FOR POWER STEERING. IF IT WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED, IT DID NOT LAST VERY LONG. I HAVE READ THAT THERE WERE RECALLS FOR ALL OF THE G6 YEARS EXCEPT FOR THE 2007, BUT I ALSO SAW A YOUTUBE VIDEO FROM 2015 THAT SAID THAT GM HAD RECALLED THE 2007 CHEVY MALIBU AND PONTIAC G6 SO I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS ACCURATE.
ISSUE. FUEL FOUND TO BE LEAKING AT TOP OF GAS TANK FROM FUEL PUMP FUEL OUTLET ELBOW FITTING ON FUEL PUMP. LEAK WAS SUCH THAT A STRONG GAS ODOR COULD BE SENSED AFTER CAR WAS DRIVEN AND SITTING OUTSIDE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT GAS WAS SITTING ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK. THIS AREA IS NEAR THE REAR EXHAUST PIPES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BULBS WERE CHANGED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLAMP MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED FOR THE STEERING ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I PURCHASED THE CARE IN 8/2015 AND THIS PAST WEEK THE POWER STEERING STARTED FLASHING ON THE MESSAGE BOARD AND THEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. WHEN I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF IT WORKS AGAIN BUT LOCKS SO WHILE I AM DRIVING IT. I WOULD NEVER HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW THE POWER STEERING COULD BE AN ISSUE.
WHEN STEPPING ON THE BRAKE TO ENGAGE THE CAR INTO DRIVE A CLICKING IS HEARD AND THEN BRAKE GOES TO FLOOR. BRAKE LIGHTING DOES NOT WORK ALL THE TIME BUT IS ON AND OFF. THE WAS A RECALL ON OTHER G6 VEHICLES 14V252000 FOR THIS ISSUE BUT THE DEALER STATES THIS VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED. THE OTHER RECALL IS FOR THE SAME ISSUES.
THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER STEERING ASSIST AT SPEEDS BELOW 20MPH WITHIN 200 MILES AFTER BEING REPAIRED. ONCE LOST, POWER STEERING ASSIST REMAINS OFF AND IT TAKES BRUTE STRENGTH TO STEER MAKING IT TOTALLY UNSAFE. ALSO, THERE ARE NO WARNING INDICATORS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS. THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T SEEM TO FIX IT, SO IT SEEMS A PART IN THE POWER STEERING MAY BE DEFECTIVE.

VEHICLE WAS ON A STREET DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD APPLIED PRESSURE TO BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN TO COME TO A STOP AND THE LOW TRACTION LIGHT POPPED ON. THEN THE BRAKES LOCKED UP ON THE CAR AND THEY WILL NOT UNLOCK.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SERVICE AIR BAG SOON WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 174,000.

I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND BEFORE I PUT MY CAR IN PARK IT DIED. AFTER I PLACED IT IN PARK AND BEGAN TO GET ME AND MY CHILDREN OUT IT STARTED ROLLING AWAY. BRAKES WASN'T STOPPING IT BUT EMERGENCY BRAKE DID. MOW MY CAR WONT START AT ALL.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
CAR IS UNSAFE IT'S LIKE YOUR ALL OVER THE ROAD STEELERING 8 VERY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS.

CAR SMELLS LIKE GAS WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN PARKED. IT ALSO SMELLS LIKE GAS WHEN IT'S OFF.
THERE IS FUEL LEAKING FROM THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK, AND WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE FUEL TANK TO SEE EXACTLY WHERE THE FUEL IS LEAKING FROM. THIS CONDITION EXISTS WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING, PARKED OR DRIVING
VEHICLE HAS A STRONG GAS SMELL EMITTING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE, REGARDLESS OF IF IT IS TURNED ON OR OFF. THERE IS NO VISIBLE LEAKAGE BUT THE ODOR IS STRONG ENOUGH TO NOTICE ANYWHERE IN A 5 FOOT RADIUS OF THE VEHICLE. MANY SIMILAR REPORTS REFERENCE A HAIRLINE CRACK THAT FORMS OVER TIME IN THE PLASTIC ELBOW CONNECTING THE FUEL PUMP ABOVE THE GAS TANK. THE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT COSTS APPEAR TO BE BETWEEN $700 AND $900 AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 47,000 MILES. THIS ISSUE IS VERY CONCERNING AS I CANNOT PARK THE CAR IN MY GARAGE FOR FEAR OF THE GAS SMELL BUILDING UP. IT SEEMS LIKE A COMMON ENOUGH ISSUE IN THE PONTIAC G6 THAT GM SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DANGEROUS FLAW IN THEIR FUEL PUMP MODULE.

I WAS DRIVING, CAME TO A LIGHT, POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST LOW ON FLUID, BUT FOUND OUT ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST. LOOKED ON LINE TO FIND REMEDY AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM THAT BOTH PONTIAC AND GM ARE WELL AWARE OF. INSTEAD OF TACKLING THE PROBLEM HEAD ON THE SIDE SKIRT THE PROBLEM WITH 90 DAY OR LESS WINDOWS OF CULPABILITY KNOWING FULL WELL THE PROBLEM IS MUCH MORE WIDESPREAD THAN THEY ACKNOWLEDGE. IT'S A SHAME I HAVE TO COME HERE TO CRY TO TRY AND MAKE PONTIAC AND GM TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ENGINEERING DISASTERS!!
WE HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH CAR SINCE WE PURCHASED IT ABOUT A YEAR OR TWO AGO WE FINANCED OUR THREW BROWNS AUTO WORLD FAYETTEVILLE, NC AND SINCE THEN WE HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT RANDOMLY COMING AND SHUTTING OFF ARE BRAKES WERE PUT ON BACKWARDS WE ALSO HAD ALOT OF TROUBLE WITH ACCELERATION OF THE CAR YOU COULD ONLY GET UP TO A CERTAIN SPEED OF THE CAR BEFORE IT BEGAN TO SHAKE, THE END RESULT BEING THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR, AND BRAKES. WE HAVE ALSO HAD A SITUATION WITH THE FUEL PUMP WHICH A MECHANIC SAID WAS VERY WEAK FROM THE BEGINING. WE HAVE RECIEVED SEVERAL RECALLS ON THE CAR BUT EVERYTIME WE TOOK IT GM MOTORS THEY LOOKED UP THE VIN AND SAID OUR WAS FINE BUT IT MATCHED WAS WRITTEN ON THE RECALLS SO MY QUESTION IS WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? WHAT IS MY NEXT STEP?
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE A KNOWN WIRING ISSUE. THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE TAKEN THIER CARS TO BE REPAIRED AND THEN THE SAME PROBLEM STILL EXIST SHORTLY AFTERWARDS AGAIN. I AM NOW GOING THROUGH THIS PROBLEM MY MECHANIC WAS HAVING ISSUES FINDING THE PART. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ THE COVERING THAT GOES OVER THE WIRING GETS OVERHEATED AND ENDS UP MELTING THE WIRE. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTOR PROBLEM AND GM SHOULD BE COVERING THE EXPENSE TO GET THIS FIX.
WHEN DRIVING MY PONTIAC G6 THERE APPEARS TO BE A SLIGHT CLUNK COMING FROM THE FRONT STEERING SYSTEM. ON TURNS THE SAME CLUNK HAPPENS AND YOU CAN FEEL IT EVER SO SLIGHTLY ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE STEERING IS VERY TIGHT WHILE DRIVING BUT AS SOON AS I'M STOPPED IT LOOSENS UP NOTICEABLY. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ABOUT THE CAR I'VE FOUND THAT THIS MODEL IS A CANDIDATE FOR A RECALL INVOLVING THE U-JOINTS, WHICH SEEMS TO BE WHERE THE CLUNK IS OCCURRING FROM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

I WAS DRIVING DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL I CAME UP TO A RED LIGHT. I WENT IN TO THE LEFT TURNING LANE. WHEN THE TURNING LANE LIGHT CHANGED TO GREEN I WAS UNABLE TO TURN MY CAR. MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY STIFF. ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH. TURNS OUT MY POWER STEERING PUMP WENT BAD. TOOK A MATTER OF MAYBE 5 MINUTES. CAR TURNED FINE A FEW MINUTES BEFORE.

NOT SURE HOW LONG THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN THAT WAY .A FRIEND BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION WHILE THEY WERE FOLLOWING ME TRIED EVERYTHING FIX'S IT . WHILE STATIONARY EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE NORMAL .BUT WHILE IM IN MOTION THE BRAKE LIGHT ARE ON WITHOUT ANY PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL .AND WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED THE BRAKE LIGHT GO OFF.
