THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO BRUCE LOWRIE CHEVROLET (711 SW LOOP 820, FORT WORTH, TX 76134, (817) 293-5811) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO COST. THE VEHICLE ALSO FAILED STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
FOR 2 YRS I HAVE HAD TEMP GAUGE PROBLEMS AND A READING THAT SAYS CK RSE. EVERY TIME THIS CK RSE SHOWS UP THE TEMP GAUGE DROPS I EXPLAINED THIS TO THE DEALR ON SEVERAL OCCAISIONS THEY ASSURED ME THAT CK RSE MEANS CK REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT CENTER I DON"T HAVE REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT CENTER I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AFTER BEING SERVICED CK RSE STILL POPS UP ON RADIO CENTER AND I STILL HAVE TEMP GAUGE AND AIR PROBLEMS AND THE BODY OF MY CAR SEEMS TO LEAK WATER AROUN DOORS AND BUMPERS

MY PONTIAC G6 2008 STARTED HAVING ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. WHEN GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY THE CAR TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET UP TO THE 55-65MPH SPEED. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON PONTIAC G6 FORUMS AND MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM SO EARLY ON. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT AS PEOPLE ARE ALREADY FLYING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN GETTING BEHIND A CAR THAT IS TAKING A LONG TIME TO GET UP THE MATCHING SPEED, YOU ARE ASKING FOR AN ACCIDENT. I'VE ALREADY HAD PEOPLE HONKING THEIR HORN AT ME. THIS CAR HAS SERIOUS ISSUES OUTSIDE OF THE STEERING PROBLEM REPORTED. BETWEEN CONSTANT WATER LEAKS, ACTUATORS FAILING TOO EARLY ON, SPEAKERS BLOWING OUT WHEN HARDLY USED, AND NOW THIS ENGINE ISSUE, I WILL NEVER GET A GM CAR EVER AGAIN. FOR A CAR THAT ONLY HAS 60K ON IT, THESE PROBLEMS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. THIS IS STUFF A 100K+ MILE CAR SHOULD HAVE. THE CONTACT MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THIS VEHICLE HAS MANY PROBLEMS STARTING WITH THE SEAT BELT IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE IS MALFUNCTIONING, BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON ALL THE TIME, WATER PUMP WENT OUT IN 2012, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER STICKS IN PARK, THE CAR HAS SHUT DOWN ON THE STREET WHILE DRIVING AND THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGE APPEARS, THE TWO REAR PASSENGER AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, THE TRUNK BUTTON IS INOPERABLE. I AM FED UP WITH ALL OF THE ELECTRONIC ISSUES AND HAVE TRIED TO HAVE THEM RESOLVED AT THE DEALERSHIP PAID TO HAVE THEM FIXED AND IT HAS RETURNED. THE ROOF OF THE CAR IS SHOWING RUST AND THE STEERING COLUMN WAS CLUNKING WHICH WAS FIXED UNDERWARRANTY. *TR

OVER THE LAST 9 MONTHS THE STALLING HAS INCREASED. THE CAR STALLS EVERY FEW DAYS, AND AT TIMES STALLS WHILE ACCELERATING. AFTER THE CAR STALLS, IT IMMEDIATELY STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. *TR
2008 PONTIAC G6 2.2L 4-CYL. CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN JULY-2008 SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I TOOK A NEW JOB THAT WOULD REQUIRE A LENGTHY COMMUTE UNTIL THE WIFE AND I COULD RELOCATE CLOSER TO MY JOB. I HAVE DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 176 MILES ROUND TRIP DAILY BETWEEN JULY-2008 AND JULY-2010. AT 90K MILES, THE CHECK ENGINE LAMP CAME ON. THE LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP INFORMED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAD FAILED. THEY CONVERTER WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER ON 7/29/2010 AT A COST OF $787 - INCLUDING LABOR. 85% OF THE MILEAGE WAS INTERSTATE MILES, AND THE REMAINDER WAS INCURRED ON STATE HIGHWAY OR LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS. INTERSTATE DRIVING WAS THE TYPICAL 70-75 MPH, AND DID NOT ABUSE OR PUT MY FOOT INTO IT OTHERWISE. *TR
