TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF KELLI MAGDALENO WHO OWNS A 2018 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER. WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING 70 MPH, THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLAREMONT TOYOTA (601 AUTO CENTER DR, CLAREMONT, CA 91711, (866) 317-5943) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN OBJECT FROM THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT AN OBJECT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1909301726. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,500.
CLOSED DOOR. REAR BACK GLASS. SHATTERED!!! ABSOLUTELY NO PRIOR DAMAGE TO THE GLASS. WAS AT WORK, WENT TO MY CAR TO GET SOMETHING. OPENED DOOR CLOSED IT A BOOM SHATTERED. HAVE ON TAPE AT MY JOB.
WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY DURING RAIN CONDITIONS THE WIPER SYSTEM STOPPED CLEANING MY WINDSHIELD, FORCING ME TO PULL OVER AND WAIT FOR THE STORM TO PASS. THE WIPER TRANSMISSION ARM OR BUSHING BROKE. THE WIPER MOTOR CONTINUED TO WORK. THE WIPER/WASHER ELECTRICAL BREAKER OR FUSE DID NOT BREAK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED AND THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE WIPER CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED. A DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ORDER THE PARTS NEEDED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ALSO STATED THAT THE PART COULD NOT BE ORDERED BUT THEY WOULD GIVE HER INFORMATION TO A SPECIALIZED DEPARTMENT THAT WOULD CONTACT HER WITHIN 48 HOURS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY DURING A SNOW STORM AND MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED. THE DRIVING CONDITIONS WERE TERRIBLE AND VISIBILITY WAS ALREADY POOR DUE TO THE SNOW. IT WAS AFTER DARK AND SNOWING. I HAD TO EXIT THE EXPRESSWAY AND PARK ON A SURFACE STREET MILES FROM MY DESTINATION. IT WAS A MIRACLE I DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER WHO REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY (FOR A SECOND TIME). *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON AN EXPRESSWAY IN MICHIGAN, DURING A THUNDERSTORM, AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE FREEWAY BUT HAD ZERO VISIBILITY. I LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER WHO REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN TWO YEARS LATER AND I WILL BE FILING A SEPARATE INCIDENT REPORT (IN ADDITION TO OTHERS. THIS IS A CRAP CAR). *TR
WAS DRIVING MY CAR IN AN ICE STORM WHEN THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED WITH NOTHING HITTING IT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A STRESS FRACTURE CAUSED BY THE HEAT ON THE WINDSHIELD. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHO SAID GM SAYS THE PROBLEM IS RARE AND THAT IT WILL NOT BE COVERED. I FEEL THAT IF HEAT FROM A DEFROSTER CAN DAMAGE THESE WINDSHIELDS THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE WINDSHIELDS. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT AT LEAST FOUR OTHER VEHICLES WITH SAME PROBLEM CAME IT THAT WEEK. *TR
