AIR CONDITIONER WAS NOT WORKING. POSITION 1 & 2 ON THE HEATER CONTROL WERE INOPERATIVE. TOOK TO DEALER. DEALER REPLACED RESISTOR. DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
HEADLIGHTS SHAKE WHEN GOING OVER SMALL BUMPS IN THE ROAD. *AK
HEADLIGHTS BOUNCE WHEN DRIVING OVER UNEVEN PAVEMENT. THIS IS DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER AND ALSO TO ONCOMING VEHICLES. I DO NOT YET SEE A TSB ON THIS PROBLEM.*AK
INTERMEDIATE DRIVE SHAFT REPLACED AT 1,500 MILES. POWER STEERING PUMP WENT AT 2,000 MILES, HAD IT REPLACED. ALSO AT 2,000 MILES CV JOINT AND BOOT HAD TO BE REPLACE. HEADLIGHTS BOUNCE WHILE DRIVING OVER MINIMAL BUMPS, DOOR PANEL RATTLES. DASH ABOVE SPEEDOMETER RATTLES BUT DEALER CAN NOT DUPLICATE SO NO FIX YET. CAR IS GOING BACK TO THE DEALER TODAY FOR A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT END. NEED I SAY MORE? LEMON!
HEADLIGHTS BOUNCE WHEN DRIVING ON THE ROAD. VERY HAZARDOUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, ESCPECIALLY ON UNEVEN OR OLD ROAD. PROBLEM HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE I BOUGHT TH CAR NEW. DEALER HAS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME.*AK
HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY: BOTH HEADLIGHTS ON THE FRONT ARE "BOUNCING / SHAKING" WHEN YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THIS IS EASILY DUPLICATED WHEN YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENING WHEN IT'S DARK. *AK ONCOMING VEHICLES HAVE FLASHED THERE HIGH BEAMS BECAUSE OF THE RESULT OF THE LIGHTS SHAKING UP AND DOWN. THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS LOOSE AND THIS IS COMMON WITH OTHER 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIXS (ACCORDING TO A PONTIAC MESSAGE BOARD). I PHONED PONTIAC REGARDING THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE "LOWERING THE HEADLIGHT BEAM CLOSER TO THE GROUND FROM THE FRONT OF VEHICLE". THIS WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY IN NIGHT TIME DRIVING AND WILL NOT SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL CONTINUE TO BOUNCE & SHAKE, BUT WILL NOT BOUNCE HIGH IN THE AIR BLINDING OTHER DRIVERS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SHAKING/BOUNCING AROUND WHILE DRIVING. MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND IS PROVIDING A TEMPORARY SOLUTION BY TIGHTENING THE ADJUSTER SCREW. THIS CAUSES THE HEADLIGHT BEAM TO AIM LOW, WHICH REDUCES VISIBILITY.*AK
STRUT MOUNTS WORN AT 3 MONTHS OLD. *AK
POSITION OF THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER MAKES IT EASY TO ACCIDENTALLY DISENGAGE. WHEN USING THE DECEL FEATURE TO REDUCE SPEED BY 1 MPH, CAN UNKNOWINGLY MOVE THE LEVEL REARWARD SLIGHTLY, CAUSING CRUISE TO DISENGAGE.*AK
HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2004 GRAND PRIX VIBRATE (BOUNCE) WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, VERY DISTRACTING. EXHAUST SYSTEM HAS LOUD AND ANNOYING PINGING SOUND, MOST NOTICABLE FOR A WHILE AFTER CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN, THEN TURNED OFF.*AK
WHENEVER I START FROM A COMPLETE STOP, MY 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT2 MAKES A POPPING NOISE UNDER THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. ALSO UPON STARTING, A LOUDER POPPING NOISE IS HEARD FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. ON A COUPLE OF OCCASSIONS, WHENEVER I START IN DRIVE (COLD ENGINE), THE ENGINE REVS AND SERGES FORWARD, (I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKES VERY QUICKLY OR I WOULD HAVE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE.) ALSO, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HEAR TAPPET? NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. I DRIVE LIKE A GRANDMA AND KEEP UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES, SO I KNOW IT'S NOT FROM MY DRIVING.*AK
THE DAY OF THE WEEK DOES NOT MATCH THE DATE. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RESET THE DATE, AND IT STILL DISPLAYS THE WRONG DAY OF THE WEEK. CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THEY COULD RESET THE SYSTEM BUT IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NO LONG TERM FIX YET. *JB
AFTER 10,000 MILES MY STEERING WHEEL WAS SHAKING INCREASINGLY BADLY. I ASSUMED IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH MY TIRES. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY ROTORS. THEY TURNED THEM AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE FOR A WHILE BUT AFTER 20,000 MILES THE SHAKING STEERING RETURNED. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THEY TURNED THEM AGAIN. I REALLY THINK THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE ROTORS.
WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS OR SLOWING COMING TO A STOP, YOU CAN HEAR A THUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR FLOOR AREA. *AK
DT: 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN FEBRUARY 2005. WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. THE CAR SEEMED TO MOVE FASTER EVEN THOUGH THE CONSUMER WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER AND THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE RECALL CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT. *JB
IT LOOKS LIKE I AM ONE OF MANY COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BOUNCING HEADLIGHTS. THIS IS NOT ONLY DISTRACTING TO MYSELF, BUT TO OTHER DRIVERS. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT SOMETHING WILL BE DONE TO REMEDY THIS FROM THE MANUFACTURER.*AK
I HAVE A GRAND PRIX GT1 AND HEADLIGHTS SHAKE FROM THE SLIGHTEST BUMPS. I HAVE CARS IN THE ONCOMING LANE FLASHING ME WITH THEIR HIGH BEAMS ALL THE TIME BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.*AK
THE CAR ACCELERATES WITHOUT THE OPERATOR DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. HERE WERE TWO NEAR MISS CRASHES WHEN THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN IN TOWN AND ACCELERATED BY ITSELF . ONE INCIDENT WAS WHEN MY PREGANANT WIFE NEARLY STRUCK A TRAIN. *AK THE ACTUAL DATE OF THE INCIDENT BELOW IS NOT CORRECT, I DO NOT HAVE THAT INFORMATION WITH ME. I DO KNOW THAT THE FIRST TIME WAS IN JANUARY OF 2004.
I OWN A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT2, THE DOOR LOCKS WILL TRY TO RE-LOCK AFTER EACH TIME THAT I SLOW DOWN AND RESTART, STOP AND RESTART. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL PONTIAC SERVICE CENTER AND THEY GAVE ME A BULLETIN REGARDING THIS CASE, BUT DIDN'T FIX IT. THEY TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE AUTO LOCK, IF YOU DO THAT THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AT ALL WHEN YOU PLACE IT IN GEAR. THE INFORMATION PANEL HAS BEEN RE-WIRED ONCE DUE TO THE RADIO SHORTS IT OUT. THEY STILL HAVEN'T REPLACED THE RADIO AND I FEEL THAT THE RADIO THAT IS IN MAY BE CAUSING A SHORT OR MALFUNCTION AGAIN. THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX IT. I WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT MY CARS REPAIRS I HAVE HAD SINCE DEC 2003 AND HAVE IT IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME THING LIKE 3 TIMES ALWAYS SOMETHING THEY WON'T OR DIDN'T FIX TO MAKE ME HAVE TO KEEP RETURNING FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS. I HAVE 3 KIDS AND A SHIFT WORKING HUSBAND AND I WORK FULL TIME AND THEY WILL NOT OFFER ME A LOANER WHILE IT IS BEING WORKED ON AND HAVE PUT ME IN A BAD SITUATION SEVERAL TIMES. I FEEL THAT THE SERVICE CENTER NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF AND I NEED ANOTHER VEHICLE. *JB

REAR DEFOGGER GRIDS INOPERATIVE. DEALER FOUND AND REPAIRED MINUTE CRACKS IN HEATER ELEMENT ON TWO OCCASIONS. NEW REAR WINDOW TO BE INSTALLED SINCE PROBLEM CANNOT BE REPAIRED
HEADS UP DISPLAY (HUD) OVERCOMPENSATES WHEN AUTODIMMING/ BRIGHTENING. AUTO FEATURE CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. SOMETIMES IMAGE WILL BE SO DIM YOU CANT SEE IT. OTHER TIMES, WHEN SET TO LOWEST SETTING, IMAGE IS SO BRIGHT A GREEN RECTANGULAR BOX BACKLIGHTS THE ENTIRE IMAGE.
H.U.D. DISPLAYS A VERY BLURRY IMAGE/DOUBLE IMAGE, AND ALSO DIMS TO ALMOST NOT VISABLE WHILE DRIVING. H.U.D DIMMER KNOB IS SET TO FULL BRIGHT, AND IT STILL DIMS.*AK
WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, THE ENGINE SERGED TO 3000 RPM, AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT THE CAR INFROM OF ME. HAS ONLY HAPPEN ONCE SO FAR. *AK
VEHICLE PULLS TO RIGHT. WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND TOE ADJUSTED BOTH SIDES. PROBLEM RECURRED AFTER APPROX. 200 MILES. WAS FOUND TO BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT AGAIN AND TORQUE STEERING UPON ACCELERATION. DEALER LOOSENED CRADLE BOLTS AND SHIFTED CRADLE RIGHT, THEN RESET TOE EACH SIDE.
AFTER COLD VEHICLE START AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES OF 45-55F VEHICLE SURGES OR STALLS AFTER A REVERSE-DRIVE SHIFT. DEALER STATES VEHICLE CALIBRATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE.*AK
NOT ALL GRIDS IN REAR DEFROSTER WORKING. WHEN DEFROSTER IS ON I GET STATIC FEEDBACK INTO THE RADIO. DEALER REPAIRED GRIDS ONCE, BUT PROBLEM CONTIUNED AS SOON AS I PICKED UP THE CAR. DEALER IS TO REPLACE GLASS NEXT WEEK.*AK
HEADLIGHTS NOT AIMED PROPERLY OR BOUNCING. ONCOMING TRAFFIC WILL FLASH HIGHBEAMS. AFTER RIDING BEHIND SOMEONE THEY WILL COMMENT MY LIGHTS SHAKE AND ARE TOO BRIGHT. *LA

CAN HEAR A SQUEAKING NOISE FROM REAR OF VEHICLE OVER BUMPS OR SIDE-TO-SIDE MOVEMENT. FOUND RIGHT REAR EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE LOOSE AND RUBBING ON ABS WIRING HARNESS. REPAIRED AND PROBLEM REOCCURED. REPAIRED AGAIN.*AK

GM DOES NOT SEEM TO CONCERNED BUT, EVIDENTLY THEY ARE NOT THE ONES DRIVING THE CAR. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT, I JUST FILLED OUT THE INCIDENT DATE SO I COULD PROCEED TO THE NEXT PAGE. *LA
VEHICLE WAS EMITTING BLUE SMOKE FROM ITS TAIL-PIPE DUE TO EXCESSIVE USE OF OIL. SINCE THE VEHICLE HAS 4000 MILES ON IT, THE DEALER SUSPECTS IT'S A BAD ENGINE. *LA

SERPENTINE BELT COMES OFF THE PULLEYS EVERY 1500 MILES.*AK
THE HEADLIGHTS WERE SHAKING WHICH HAS CAUSED THE DISTRACTION OF DRIVERS ON THE OTHER LANE. THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL RESPONSE WAS THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS AND DESIGNED THAT WAY. *LA
HEADLIGHTS BOUNCE ON ALL ROAD SURFACES AT ALL SPEEDS, CAUSING DISTRACTIONS FOR BOTH THE DRIVER AND OTHER TRAFFIC, BOTH ONCOMING AND LEADING. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGES PROBLEM BUT HAS NO TSB OR FIX AVAILABLE FROM PONTIAC. *JB
PROBLEM: BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM. OCCURRED ONLY ONCE SO FAR. I HAD STOPPED AT A STORE AND WHEN I LEFT, THE FIRST TIME I APPLIED THE BRAKE IT FELT THE SAME AS IF I HAD JUST GONE THROUGH A CAR WASH (MUCH GREATER PEDAL PRESSURE NEEDED TO STOP). I CONTINUED ON TO MY WORKPLACE AND HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKES SEVERAL MORE TIMES. EACH SUBSEQUENT TIME THE SAME CONDITION HAPPENED. MUCH GREATER PEDAL PRESSURE WAS REQUIRED TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. IT FELT AS THOUGH 50-75% OF THE BRAKING POWER WAS GONE. I IMMEDIATELY CHECKED THE FLUID AND IT WAS RIGHT AT THE MAX LINE. STRANGELY, WHEN I LEFT WORK SEVERAL HOURS LATER THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED AND HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE. OBVIOUSLY I'M CONCERNED ABOUT IT POSSIBLE HAPPENING AGAIN. I'M GUESSING IT MUST HAVE BEEN AN ELECTRONIC GLITCH OF SOME SORT??! *LA

HEADLIGHTS ON 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX BOUNCE UNDER BUMPY CONDITIONS. CAUSES A DISTRATION TO BOTH DRIVER AND OTHER MOTORISTS. I'VE BEEN YELLED AT BY OTHER MOTORISTS THAT MY LIGHTS ARE DISTRACTING AND SIMULATE THE FLASHING LIGHTS OF A POLICE CAR. I'VE ALSO HAD CARS PULL OVER WHEN I AM BEHIND THEM AND AS I PASS SPEED UP, PRESUMABLY BECAUSE THEY REALIZE I AM NOT A POLICE OFFICER. *LA
WHEN I GO OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD OR TURN THE WHEEL THE VEH MAKES A CLUNKING/KNOCKING SOUND IN THE FLOOR AND SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL (PARKED OR MOVING) THERE IS A SIMILAR, CLANKING SOUND NEAR THE WHEELS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEH TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE CHECK SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST FEW TIMES THEY TORE IT DOWN AND TIGHTENED THINGS. THE LAST TIME THEY SAID THEY CONTACTED PONTIAC AND WAS INFORMED THIS WAS HAPPENING ON SEVERAL VEHS AND DO NOT HAVE A FIX.*AK
HEADLIGHT SHAKE BADLY. ANY SLIGHT VARIATION IN THE ROAD SUCH AS EXPANSION JOINTS, CRACKS, BUMPS, ETC. RESULT IN OBVIOUS SHAKING SEEN ON REFLECTIVE SIGNS, CAR TAILS, ETC. THIS IS PRETTY DISTRACTING AS A DRIVER OF THE CAR, I CAN'T IMAGINE THE IMPACT ON OTHERS. DEALER OFFERED NO SOLUTION AS PONTIAC HAS NOT OFFICIALLY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM BUT ALL 2004 GRAND PRIX MODELS HAVE THIS ISSUE. *JB
MY CAR STALLED 5 DAYS AFTER I RECEIVED IT. IT WAS ABOUT 40 F OUTSIDE AND I REVERSED SLOWLY AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE. IT SHUDDERED AND STALLED. THIS HAPPENED ONCE MORE THE NEXT DAY. ANY TIME THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 60 F THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THIS SAME ISSUE BUT THEY SEEM UNABLE TO FIX IT. I'VE HAD THE PCM RE-FLASHED, INJECTORS CLEANED, AND SPARK PLUGS REPLACED. I HAVE HAD CONTINUED SHUDDERING AT LOW TEMPERATURES BUT NO MORE STALLING SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENTS. THERE IS ALSO A JERKING WHEN ACCELERATING QUICKLY. WHEN PRESSING THE GAS THE CAR HESITATES AND THEN JUMPS INTO GEAR.*AK
THE HEADLIGHTS "BOUNCE" ON OUR 2004 GRAND PRIX DUE TO INSECURE MOUNTING. THIS CAN BE SEEN AFTER DARK AND MUST BE VERY ANNOYING TO OTHER DRIVERS, SOME WHO RESPOND BY FLASHING THEIR BRIGHTS. THIS MAY BE A MORE PREVELENT IN THE GTP/COMP G MODEL WHICH HAS A STIFFER SPRING AND STRUT COMBINATION. AT THIS TIME, THERE IS NO REPAIR AVAILABLE.*AK
2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP
VEHICLE HAD A DESIGN FLAW IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLEAR PLASTIC COVER. *BF IN DAYLIGHT THERE IS A BRIGHT SEMI CIRCULAR REFLECTION IN EACH CORNER. THE SUN GLARES DIRECTLY OFF THE PLASTIC INTO THE DRIVER'S EYES CAUSING A SUDDEN DISTRACTION.
THE VEHICLE BUCKED WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED BETWEEN THIRD AND FORTH GEAR. *NM ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERES THE VEHICLE ROLLED FORWARD AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN REVERSE. THE CONSUMER HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE AND RESTART IT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *NM
