SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. CAN'T RECALL IF THE LIGHT CAME ON DURING MOTION OR NOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR ACTIVATED WHEN THE SEAT WAS UNOCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE SAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
VEHICAL WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 05/13/2016 DUE TO INDICATOR LIGHTS THAT STATED THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. THE VEHICAL HAS BEEN MATICULOUSLY MAINTAINED AND ONLY HAD 31,911 MILES EFFECTIVE 05/13/2016. "DEALER SCAN AND ANALYSIS FOUND THAT THE DTC 1063 DIAGED PER SI AS AN INTERNALLY SHORTED PPM". BASICALLY, THIS WAS A PERMANENT FAILURE OF THE PPM MANUFACTURED BY IEE IN LUXEMBOURG, GERMANY. THE ONLY REPAIR OPTION WAS TO REPLACE WITH A NEW SEAT CUSHION CONTAINING AN INTEGRATED PPM. THIS WAS AT A PROPOSED COST OF $818.35 INCLUDING ALL TAXES, SINCE THE VEHICAL WAS NO LONGER COVERED BY WARANTY. THERE IS ENOUGH DOCUMENTATION IN VARIOUS DATA BASES, INCLUDING A RECENT REQUEST TO NHTSA TO CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUE. MR. TROY LYMAN'S REQUEST DOCUMENTS SIGNIFICANT FAILURES IN THE PONTIAC SOLTICE AND SATURN SKY VEHICALS, AND PROVIDES A COMPELLING RATIONAL FOR NHTSA TO INITIATE AN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE WAS FIRST NOTICED APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS BEFORE TAKING IT INTO THE DEALER. I WAW TAKING THE CAR TO THE CAR WASH, AND WHEN I STARTED THE CAR BEFORE LEAVING THE GARAGE, A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY DASH CLUSTER. IT COULD BE RESET; HOWEVER, WOULD APPEAR AGAIN EACH TIME THE CAR WAS STARTED. I DID SOME RESEARCH FOR THIS FAILURE PRIOR TO TAKING IN TO THE DEALER. WHEN I AGREED TO HAVE THE DEALER FIX THE FAILURE, I ALSO REQUESTED THAT HE PROVIDE ME WITH THE FAILED PART. I SUBSEQUENTLY TOOK THE FAILED SEAT CUSHION APART TO SEE IF I COULD SEE ANY BREAKS IN THE PPM THAT WOULD CAUSE A SHORT. I COULD SEE NOTHING AS APPARENT AS I HAD SEEN IN THE ONLINE RESEARCH REGARDING THIS ISSUE. MY OPINION IS THAT SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY INFERIOR WITH THE PPM THAT IS CAUSING THIS FAILURE. I WILL ATTACH SOME PICTURES OF THE FAILED SEAT CUSHION PPM. I WOULD ALSO PROVIDE THE ACTUAL FAILED PRODUCT UPON YOUR REQUEST.
HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE 2007. SELDOM CARRIED A PASSENGER. STARTED CARRYING A PASSENGER ON A REGULAR BASES SUMMER 2015. ELEVEN MONTHS LATER THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. DIDN'T BOTHER TO FIX IT BECAUSE THEY WANTED OVER $800. MY CAR JUST FAILED THE VIRGINIA STATE INSPECTION ON 1/16/2017 BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG LIGHT. NOW I'M FORCED TO GET THIS FIXED. SEARCHED ONLINE FOR A SOLUTION AND DISCOVERED THAT THE PONTIAC SOLSTICE AND THE SATURN SKY HAVE A HIGH FAILURE RATE FOR THE SMALL AMOUNT OF CARS THAT WERE EVEN MANUFACTURED. THE ISSUE IS WITH MY PASSENGER SENSOR WHICH DOES NOT REGISTER IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. EVERYONE SEEMS SURE THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS LIT BUT NOBODY COULD VERIFY IF THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG IS ALSO DISABLED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.
MY PONTIAC SOLSTICE - LIKE 1000S OF OTHERS - RECENTLY EXPERIENCED THE PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILURE. THIS FAILURE IS A 'KNOWN DEFICIENCY' THAT GM HAS YET TO RECOGNIZE AND ADDRESS. THIS FAILURE PREVENTS THE PASSENGER (AND MAYBE EVEN THE DRIVER-SIDE) AIRBAG FROM DEPLOYING PLACING THE PASSENGERS AT GREAT RISK! THE FAILURE TENDS TO OCCUR AFTER THE WARRANTED PERIOD IS OVER THUS COSTING THE OWNER $1000 TO REPLACE. MANY OWNERS CANNOT AFFORD SUCH A COST AND SO DO NOT GET THE PART REPLACED - PLACING THE PASSENGERS AT RISK! THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I WOULD SUBMIT GIVEN THE PREVALENCE OF THIS ISSUE THAT IT IS A LARGER SAFETY ISSUE THAN THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL WHICH WAS REALLY CAUSED BY THE FEW OWNERS WHO CARRIED THE WEIGHT OF A BOWLING BALL ON THEIR KEY CHAIN. IT'S ABOUT TIME THIS 'SAFETY ORGANIZATION' BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF GM AND GM CORRECTED THIS DEFICIENCY AS PART OF A RECALL! THE TAKATA RECALL IS BEING COMPLETED ON MILLIONS OF VEHICLES DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT HURTING/KILLING THE PASSENGER. HERE - WITH THIS SOLSTICE ISSUE - THE AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY AT ALL. ISN'T THAT EVEN WORSE?
THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT'S NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, SO MANY OF THE SOLSTICE'S AND SKY'S ARE BEING AFFECTED BY THIS. I FOR ONE DON'T WANT TO HAVE ANY OF MY PASSENGERS KILLED IN A WRECK BECAUSE OF THE AIR BAG. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR IS OVER $800 TO FIX, THIS MAKES IT HARD ON LOW INCOME DRIVERS TO FIX THE ISSUE, WHEN IT SHOULD BE A GM RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE.
TAKATA RECALL. THE AIRBAG SERVICE MAINTENANCE LIGHT TURNED ON TWO DIFFERENT TIMES & SERVICED THE LAST 3 YEARS COSTING ME A LOT OF MONEY.
MY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING WITHOUT ANY CAUSE RESULTING IN A "SERVICE AIRBAG" WARNING ON THE DIC IN THE DASH. SEARCHING FORUMS FOR ALL VARIETIES OF THE GM KAPPA PLATFORM (SATURN SKY, OPEL GT, AND PONTIAC SOLSTICE) IT APPEARS THIS FAILURE IS HAPPENING TO EVERY SINGLE VEHICLE MADE WITH THIS SYSTEM AND IS NOT CAUSED BY USUAL WEAR, OR ANY SORT OF MISTREATMENT OF THE DEVICE OR THE CAR - IT IS A CLEAR MANUFACTURING DEFECT. GM HOLDS YOUR CAR HOSTAGE FOR $1000 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WHEN THE PART CAN BE OBTAINED FROM EUROPE FOR $99 - DISGUSTING. IN MY CASE, THE CAR SAT IN THE GARAGE OVER THE WINTER, AND UPON GETTING IN THE CAR THIS SPRING TO START IT, THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, THE LAST TIME THE CAR WAS DRIVEN THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON, AND NO-ONE HAS TOUCHED THE PASSENGER SEAT SINCE, SO THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CAUSED BY ABUSE OR WEAR IT IS SIMPLY A DEFECTIVE PART THAT FAILS FOR NO REASON AFTER SOME PERIOD OF TIME.
THE SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THAT DETECTS A PASSENGER AND ACTIVATES THE AIR BAG SYSTEM FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT IS BROKEN. NOW, WHENEVER THERE IS A PASSENGER, THE AIR BAG FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE SHOWS AS OFF. MY VEHICLE IS AN '07, BUT HAS ONLY 50,000 MILES. THE SENSOR APPEARS TO BE VERY THIN AND FLIMSY. WITH THIS ITEM BROKEN, IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. I PLACED A GROCERY BAG ON FRONT SEAT, THE RED AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, NOW ITS GLOWING ALL THE TIME. DEALER WANTS 600 TO REPAIR THIS . NOW MY PASSENGER AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN A ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULAR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 04/07/16*LJ *CN
THIS THE SECOND TIME WITHIN A YEAR THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR HAS FAILED. LAST TIME I HAD THE DEALER (GARY LANG AUTO GROUP) DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WITH AND RESET THE NEW SENSOR WHICH I PURCHASED FORM A GM VENDOR AND INSTALLED MYSELF. IT STILL COST ME $600 !!!! SINCE THEN I HAVE MET A GM TECH WHO WILL RESET THE NEW SENSOR WHICH I WILL AGAIN BUY AND INSTALL, AND HAVE HIM RESET THE SENSOR AS A TECH 2 IS NEEDED TO DO SO. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND I DO NOT KNOW WHY YOU ARE NOT INVESTIGATING THIS SAFETY ISSUE. IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK AT OTHER KAPPA COMPLAINTS YOU WILL SEE IT IS WIDESPREAD, CONSIDERING HOW MANY WERE BUILT FROM 2006 TO 2009. EVEN THOUGH NOW I HAVE A GM TECH AS A FRIEND, IT IS STILL GOING TO COST ME ALMOST $500 TO REPAIR. RIDICULOUS.
RECALL 17036 PASSANGER AIRBAG TELLTALE INDICATES THAT THE AIRBAG IS OFF WHILE AN ADULT IS IN THE FRONT SEAT
AN ALERT ON THE DASH TO SERVICE AIR BAG CAME ON. APPARENTLY A SWITCH WENT CAUSING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG TO FAIL TO ACTIVATE PROPERLY. THIS LIGHT WAS WHEN STATIONARY AND WHEN DRIVING. THE REPAIR WAS OVER $700 AT PARKS CHEVROLET IN CHARLOTTE, NC.
IN 2015 I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AT THE LOCAL GM DEALER, AND THE CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON IN MY DASH WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD "LOOK INTO" THIS AND CALL ME BACK AT PH [XXX]. I HAD TO LATER CALL. THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN MY VEHICLE FAILED WITHIN A MONTH AFTER THE GM BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY EXPIRED. MY LOCAL GM DEALER TELLS ME THIS IS VERY COMMON FOR THIS VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION, TRYING TO GET GET A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THEN THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT HONOR AS TIME EXPIRED. NOW AS THEY WANT ALMOST A THOUSAND DOLLARS, MY PASSENGER IS IN DIRE RISK OF THE EMINENT DANGER OF AN INJURY IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS, AND I AM IN A POSITION OF RISK. THE AIR BAG / SEATBELT WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE, MY WIFE WAS IN THE SEAT AND WEIGHS MORE THAN 100LB. I'M TOLD THIS DISABLES THE AIRBAG, WHICH IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE. REPAIRS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE AND WITH ONLY 26000 MILES ON THIS CAR SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM. IT WAS REPAIRED ON 9/3/15 AND COST $1130.21
THE PASSENGER (SERVICE) AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND REMAINS ON AT ALL TIMES. THE LIGHT WHICH SAYS THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN ARMED NO LONGER ILLUMINATES. FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE, IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SENSOR WHICH MUST BE REPLACED. THE PART IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND BREAKS EASILY. I AM WORRIED THAT NOT ONLY IS THERE A CHANCE THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY DURING AN ACCIDENT BUT THAT IF I DO GET THE PART REPLACED, IT WILL SOON BREAK AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED RIGHT AWAY! THERE HAVE BEEN TOO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PART, WHICH SYSTEMATICALLY GOES OUT ON EVERY CAR, FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE IGNORED!
SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING CAME ON DIC. RESEARCHED SEVERAL PONTIAC SOLSTICE, AS WELL AS SATURN SKY AND OPEL GT, FORUMS THAT ADDRESS THE PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM MODULE, GM P/N 19124219, AS THE COMMON FAILURE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE REPAIR FOR A WELL DOCUMENTED HIGH FAILURE RATE SAFETY PART.

TWO TIRES KEEP LOSING AIR. ONE SEVERELY ENOUGH THAT IT IS BELOW 20 LBS OF PRESSURE EVERY MORNING REQUIRING ME TO ADD AIR WITH A HAND PUMP EVERY DAY OR DRIVE ON ONE OR MORE TIRES DANGEROUSLY LOW ON AIR. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS. PARKS CHEVROLET IN CHARLOTTE, NC SAYS THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION. A GOOD YEAR TIRE AND AUTO CENTER AND A DISCOUNT TIRE CENTER BOTH SAID THAT THE CHROME ON THE INTERIOR OF THE RIMS IS FLAKING OFF, CREATING SLOW AIR LEAKS BETWEEN THE TIRE AND THE RIMS. PRESUMABLY THE AIR IS LEAKING ALL THE TIME AND APPEARS TO BE WORSE WHEN PARKED WITH THE TIRE IN A PARTICULAR POSITION. I HAVE HAD A TIRE GO COMPLETELY FLAT (SMOOSHED AND REGISTERING NO AIR PRESSURE) PARKED IN THE GARAGE FOR A FEW DAYS.

RECALL 2007 FOR REAR AXLE PINION SEAL AND FOR AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. AN GOING ISSUE FOR THESE VEHICLES WHICH GM REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR. BOTH WERE "REPAIRED" IN ORIGINAL RECALL BUT ARE RECURRING. I MADE CONTACT WITH GM AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION ON EITHER PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS 51000 ORIGINAL MILES. REPAIRS COST ME OVER $3500.00 FOR BOTH ON 6/19/2015. GM CASE # 71-1488399100.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE MY CAR JERKS HARD WHEN I SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 20-30 MPH. WHEN THE CAR DOWN SHIFTS WHILE SLOWING DOWN IT FEELS LIKE MY CAR IS BRAKING HARD WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GEARS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING!!! WHILE DRIVING TO WORK OR WITH MY CHILD I NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO HAPPEN AND I KNOW THAT EVENTUALLY IT WILL LEAD TO ME OR ONE OF MY LOVED ONES BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED!!! I CANNOT AFFORD A NEW VEHICLE, BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. THOSE IT HAVE A RECALL.
HAVE REPLACED PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR MAT TWO TIMES. WHY IS IT THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE NHTSA WILL REACT TO A KNOWN PROBLEM? CADILAC ATS WAS RECALLED FOR THE EXACT SAME THING, AND WHILE THE MATS MAY BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT, THEY INDEED HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. YOU HAVE ENOUGH DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE THIS. SO I AM WONDERING WHY YOU KEEP IGNORING THIS.
THE SENSOR THAT TELLS IF THE SEAT IS OCCUPIED HAS MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO REMAIN ON AND IMPAIR THE OPERATION OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM.
PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR FAILURE.
AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH AND REVIEW, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE SEAT CUSHION HAS FAILED DUE TO HORRIBLE DESIGN. MANY OTHERS HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT AND HAVE HAD NO RECALL. PLEASE HELP AS WE AS OWNERS HAVE TO CONTINUE PAYING FOR THIS ISSUE, SOME EVEN MORE THAN ONCE.

AIR BAG SENSOR: THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SOLSTICE OWNERS SUCH AS MY SELF, DRIVING WITH THE SEAT BELT SENSOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT SENSOR AND DEALERS WANT UP TO $1,500 TO REPLACE THE SEAT SENSOR. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND A SAFETY ISSUE THAT GM SHOULD HANDLE THRU A VOLUNTARY RECALL. IT IS A PROBLEM KNOWN WORLD-WIDE REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG OCCUPANT SENSOR HAS FAILED, DISABLING THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM TO THIS CAR, AND A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR OURSELVES AND ANY PASSENGERS. WE REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL TO REPAIR THIS KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE. I BELIEVE REVIEWING THE GM RECORDS FOR THE NUMBER OF UNITS SOLD AS REPLACEMENTS WILL REINFORCE MY COMPLAINT. *TR
2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DEFECTIVE MODULE OR SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND SIDE AIRBAGS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVEN OF A COLLISION. THE DEFECT WAS CONFIRMED WHEN DIAGNOSED BY A LOCAL GM DEALER. *JB
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE MY CAR JERKS HARD WHEN I SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 20-30 MPH. WHEN THE CAR DOWN SHIFTS WHILE SLOWING DOWN IT FEELS LIKE MY CAR IS BRAKING HARD WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GEARS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING!!! WHILE DRIVING TO WORK OR WITH MY CHILD I NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO HAPPEN AND I KNOW THAT EVENTUALLY IT WILL LEAD TO ME OR ONE OF MY LOVED ONES BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED!!! MY AIRBAG LIGHTS SUDDENLY CAME ON AND THE DEALER SHIP SAYS MY AIRBAG MODULE HAS GONE OUT. WHY WOULD A VEHICLE WITH ONLY 62133 MILES AIRBAG MODULE GO OUT, ITS BEEN ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER, CUP HOLDER BROKE FIRST MONTH I HAD CAR, THEN REAR AXLE RECALL,,THEN IGNITION SWITCH AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE.I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH DOOR HANDLES AND THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS HARDLY EVER USED BUT THEY BROKE OFF FROM JUST REGULAR USE. NOW I AM TOLD I NEED AN AIR BAG MODULE, SHOULDN'T THAT HAVE LASTED FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR. THAT'S A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE MY AIRBAGS AREN'T WORKING. I AM GONNA HAVE TO FORK OVER 557 DOLLARS NOT TO MENTION THE 92 I JUST HAD TO PAY JUST TO FIND OUT WHY MY AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON. I PAID OVER THIRTY THOUSAND FOR THIS CAR AND IT SHOULD STILL HAVE WORKING AIR BAGS.THE COMPANY SHOULD HAVE TO FIX IT, THEY TOOK THAT BAIL OUT FROM ME THE TAX PAYER. *TR
I RECENTLY TOOK MY 2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE INTO A LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED. WITHIN LESS OF A MONTH MY VEHICLE'A ENGINE LIGHT HAS CAME ON, MY CAR INDICATES THAT MY GAS CAP IS LOOSE, AN I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE I BELIEVE THE CAR DEALERSHIP KNEW OF THE ISSUES PRIOR AND DID NOT RELAY THE INFORMATION TO ME. MY CAR IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND I AM UNABLE TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE A 2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE. ON 12/12/14, WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE I OBSERVED ISSUES WITH MY BRAKES. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THE CAR JERKED AS IF THE BRAKES WENT OUT. I HAD ISSUES WITH THIS LAST MONTH AND A MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE ALL THESE PARTS. I BELIEVE IT HAS TO DO WITH THE MULTIPLE RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE READ OTHER INDIVIDUALS DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT TO OWNERS ATTENTION THIS CAN RESULT ON MANY MORE DEATHS. I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES JERKING SO HARD. THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR STOPPED WORKING. IT NO LONGER SENSING WHEN A PASSENGER IS PRESENT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS SEEMS LIKE A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM SINCE THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY ON PASSENGER SIDE IN A CRASH. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM THAT IS WELL DOCUMENTED, I BELIEVE GM SHOULD ORDER A RECALL. *TR

SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER SAYS THE PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM MODULE HAS FAILED AND IS $1260 TO REPLACE. AFTER LOOKING AT SEVERAL PONTIAC SOLSTICE ONLINE FORUMS, THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON FAILURE. *TR
OUR VEHICLE IN MOTION TURNING LEFT FROM TURN LANE WITH GREEN ARROW WHEN WE WERE HIT BY DRIVER WHO RAN RED LIGHT. OUR CAR SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL FRONT END DAMAGE (TOTALLED) BUT NEITHER THE DRIVER NOR PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED.
AS I BEGAN TO BRAKE TO COME TO A STOP, MY CAR JERKED REALLY HARD. AT FIRST I WONDERED IF MY BRAKES WERE NOT APPLYING. THIS HAPPENED MAYBE ONCE OR TWICE MORE THAT DAY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND HAD NEW BRAKES INSTALLED. BUT I TOLD THEM THE ISSUE THAT I WAS HAVING. A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEM APPEARED TO BE GETTING WORSE SO I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THEY GAVE ME A LAUNDRY LIST OF ISSUES TOTALING IN THE EXCESS OF $1,800.00. NONE OF THE ISSUES SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSED WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. THE JERKING HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I SOUGHT OUT THE PONTIAC SOLSTICE FORUM AND FOUND THAT THE POWER TRAIN PINION ISSUE (RECALL # 07204) IS EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY CAR. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH GM BUT THEY ARE SAYING THAT I WILL NEED TO PAY TO HAVE THE CAR DIAGNOSED TO SEE IF THIS ISSUE IS A RECALL ISSUE AND THAT THE CAR IS PAST THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AND I MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 2 YEARS AGO. I AM PAYING A MONTHLY NOTE. A POWERTRAIN ISSUE IS LIABLE TO BE VERY EXPENSIVE. FURTHERMORE IN READING ABOUT THIS RECALL, I AM ALMOST AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. FURTHERMORE, APPARENTLY THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPAIRED ON THE VEHICLE BEFORE...IN 2008. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE? THIS IS A LOW MILEAGE CAR SO EITHER IT IS A CONSISTENT ISSUE OR IT WAS NEVER REPAIRED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ABNORMALLY TRAVEL IN AND A HORIZONTAL POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE DIAGNOSIS WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
I JUST HAD MY IGNITION CHANGED UNDER THE GM/PONTIAC RECALL, AND WE WERE DRIVING THE CAR DOWN THE HIGHWAY. MY CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR STARTED FLASHING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY AND SO DID MY PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT CAME ON EACH TIME THE CHECK SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON. I DID HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT PASSENGER SEAT. THE NEXT DAY I DROVE THE CAR AND THE CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR WAS ON STEADY. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL GM DEALER AND THEY STATED I HAD A PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR FAILURE. THE COST WITH PARTS AND LABOR WAS ESTIMATED AT JUST UNDER $800.00. I DID CHECK THIS SENSOR FAILURE ONLINE AND THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS AND I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY GM. *TR
