MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED ERRATIC DRIVING, BROUGHT TO DEALER STATED MY RACK AND PINION FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF RECALL, WHICH I DON'T UNDERSTAND, THIS VEHICLE FAILED IN A MAJOR WAY WHICH ENDANGERED ME AND MY FAMILY AND I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY MANUFACTURER. SAD THING ABOUT THIS DOES MY VEHICLE HAVE TO BE IN A CRASH, FIRE AND FATALITY TILL SOMETHING IS DONE! MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON THE DASHBOARD AND STAYS ON FOR A WHILE SOMETIMES GOES OFF THEN COMES RIGHT BACK ON. MY WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID MESSAGE COMES ON EVEN WHITH A FULL TANK OF FLUID. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW GOES UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN SOMETIMES. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" COMING FROM THE FRONT END WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IF YOU GUYS COULD ENLIGHTEN ME ON ALL OF THIS THAT WOULD BE GREAT BECAUSE I SEARCHED MY VIN NUMBER AND NO RECALLS CAME UP. I DON'T WANT TO BE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND MY STEERING SUDDENLY GOES. ALSO GOD FOR BID I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT I WANT TO MAKE SURE MY AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND THEN THE TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. BEFORE I COULD PULL INTO A GAS STATION THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ME. I TURNED THE KEY AND THE CAR WOULD NOT TURNOVER. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY HOUSE FOR THE NIGHT AND THEN TO MY MECHANIC THE NEXT MORNING. HE COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THAT'S WHEN I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. IT TOOK THEM 2-3 DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. WHAT THEY FOUND WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THIS IS HOW THEY STATED IT ON THE INVOICE: 29303 NO START P0688 ASD CIRCUIT FAULT, FOUND FUSE M19 BLOWN- REPLACED AND ATTEMPTED TO START- FUSE BLEW AGAIN. TRACED ASD CIRCUIT. FOUND IGNITION COIL #5 MELTED. TESTED FURTHER, FOUND #5 SPARK PLUGS FOULED AND CIRCUIT K16 SHORTED TO GROUND. REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, IGNITION INSUFFICIENT IONIZATION FAULT SET DIA AS A PCM WITH INTERNAL DRIVER FAULT CAUSED BY SHORT, REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED PCM. THIS OF COURSE HAPPENED 5 DAYS AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED, GRANTED I DID NOT EVEN HAVE 30,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PART NOT BEING AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD THUMPING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS WARPED AND CAUSED THE BRAKES TO WEAR. AS A RESULT, THE ROTORS AND BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE I HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY FOR A ANOTHER VEHICLE WHO HAD CUT ME OFF AND I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE STICKING AND CAUSING FRICTION AND A BURNING SMELL...THIS HAS BEEN AN OFF AND ON PROBLEM WHEN EVER I HAVE TO SUDDENLY STOP. I HAD HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND TIRES ROTATED BUT WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE TECH THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKE.
EXHAUST LEAK RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE OF ENGINE ALLOWING EXHAUST FUMES TO ENTER PASSENGER CABIN.
DRIVING ALONG HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN TRUCK STARTS TO FISHTAIL OUT OF CONTROL FROM THE REAR, CAUSING ME TO GO INTO THE DITCH IN ONE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY THEN COMING OUT TO GO ACROSS THE INTERSTATE THEN LAND IN THE MEDIAN DITCH. FORTUNATELY I HIT NO ONE AND NO ONE WAS INJURED EXCEPT SCARING ME TILL I DON'T LIKE DRIVING MUCH ANYMORE. THE DAMAGES WERE MINOR LOSS OF THE INSERTS TO THE LOCKED RIMS WHICH WERE BROCKEN OFF.
AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE STARTINED REVVING VERY HIGH AND I HAD TO MAINTAIN MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE.TO NOT PLOW INTO TRAFFIC. I SWITCHED TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL AND PARK A FEW TIMES WHICH CAUSED LURCHING A LITTLE AS THE TRUCK WAS STILL REVVING HIGH AND I HAD TO KEEP BRAKE PRESSURE. I EVENTUALLY TURNED OFF MOTOR. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON IT DID SAME THING. TURNED OFF AGAIN AND IT WENT AWAY. DURING THIS TIME THE ENGINE INDICATOR WITH THE 'EXCLAMATION POINT' WAS LIT. I WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN A COUPLE MONTHS LATER WITH SAME SITUATION. I TOOK IT TO THE DODGE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT. THEY HAD IT FOR 2 WEEKS TRYING TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM WHICH DID NOT HAPPEN. THEY EVENTUALLY DECIDED IT WAS MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR AND REPLACED THAT (OF COURSE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY). THIS SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED IT BUT WAS ABOUT $600 AND 2 WEEKS WITHOUT MY TRUCK. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE MOVING IT MAY HAVE CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT CRASH.
TOOK TRUCK TO COPPUS MOTORS TIFFIN,OHIO ON 4/21/2015 DUE TO FRONT LEFT OF VEHICLE MAKING EXCESSIVE ROAD NOISE AND WANTED TO KNOW IF IT WAS FROM THE TIRE, OR SOMETHING WRONG WITH FRONT END. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY CHECKED BEARINGS AND SUSPENSION AND ALL CHECKED OK. WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER TO HAVE A CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP FOR GOODYEAR CHECK TIRES, AT THAT TIME THEY ADVISED ME, THE FRONT END MUST BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT.TOOK TRUCK TO INDEPENDANT FRONT END ALIGNMENT BUSINESS, TO HAVE ALIGNMENT CHECKED AFTER PURCHASING NEW TIRES. TOE AND CAMBER WERE BOTH OUT AND WERE ADJUSTED. AFTER 3 WKS. TIME, FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS OUT AGAIN. SAME BUSINESS, REALIGNED AGAIN. 2WKS LATER TOOK TO COPPUS MOTORS AND IT WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT AGAIN, DEALERSHIP ALIGNED IT. 3WKS LATER TOOK BACK TO COPPUS MOTORS AS REQUESTED BY DEALERSHIP TO CHECK ALIGNMENT AND IT WAS OUT AGAIN. MY NEW TRUCK TIRES ARE NOW SHOWING EXCESSIVE WEAR AND ARE GOING TO SOON NEED REPLACED, AND TRUCK IS STILL NOT FIXED YET. AT THIS TIME, COPPUS MOTORS IS UNSURE HOW TO REPAIR ALIGNMENT SO IT WILL HOLD. SINCE THIS ALL STARTED I HAVE ONLY ACCUMULATED 4,000 MI. TO HAVE ANOTHER SET OF TIRES ALREADY SHOWING WEAR AND NEEDING REPLACEMENT SOON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT OFF NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING DUE TO A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH.
THE LIFTERS ON THIS ENGINES IS GOING BAD, IM THINKING ON BUYING A NEW RAM BUT WITH THIS BAD ENGINE I DON'T THINK I WANT ONE MORE. RAM REALLY NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, IS VERY BAD YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU ENGINE NEEDS OIL WHEN IT DOES THIS CLICKING OR IF IS YOUR LIFTERS.
UPON SELECTING TRANSMISSION "D" OPTION INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATED "6", DROVE TO BARN FOR HORSE FEED. NEEDING TO BACK UP TO FENCE, TO DISPERSE FEED, TRANSMISSON SELECTION OF "R" WAS NECESSARY. USING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO REGULATE SPEED AND NO USAGE OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL (AS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSON VEHICLES WILL GENERALLY MOTIVATE WHEN GEAR SELECTION IS INITIATED) "SUDDEN ACCELERATION" OCCURRED CAUSING DAMAGE TO TAILGATE WHICH WAS DOWN. BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED AND VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. WITH BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED TRANSMISSON SELECTION "D" WAS INITIATED, IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE DAMAGE, AND ONCE AGAIN WITH BRAKE PEDAL USED TO REGULATE SPEED AND NO USAGE OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL "SUDDEN ACCELERATION" WAS AGAIN ENCOUNTERED. BRAKE PEDAL WAS AGAIN DEPRESSED WHICH STOPPED VEHICLE. NO FURTHER OCCURRANCES WERE ENCOUNTERED THAT DAY. WEATHER WAS SUNNY AND COOL, HIGH 40'S, WITH DRY CONDITIONS. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V635000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL) AND 13V527000 (STEERING) AND STATED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED WERE UNAVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO INFORM WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BACKING UP BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. THEN THEY WORK .
FRONT BRAKES LOCKED UP AT 60 MPH. *TR
DURING 2014/2015 THE 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 WOULD FAIL TO START INTERMITTENTLY ESPECIALLY ON COLDER DAYS. DURING JANUARY OF 2015 THE PROBLEM BECAME MORE COMMON ON A DAILY BASIS AND WOULD TAKE 10-15 TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKE TO DODGE UNDER WARRANTY FOR REPAIR MULTIPLE TIMES AND ACCORDING TO DODGE THE STARTER WAS REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD START. AFTER OBTAINING THE VEHICLE FROM THE DODGE REPAIR SHOP THE LEFT HEAD LIGHT BEGAN TO GO ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKING TO THE DODGE SERVICE SHOP FOR REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. DODGE INDICATED THAT IT WAS A FAULTY TIPM AND THAT IT WAS REPLACED AND THAT THE LEFT HEADLIGHT SHOULD WORK APPROPRIATELY. AFTER OBTAINING THE TRUCK ONCE AGAIN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND RETURNED TO THE DODGE SHOP WHERE THEY INDICATED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR WHICH WAS REPLACED. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE DRIVER'S HEADLIGHT BEGAN TO GO ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AND SITTING STILL. THE DODGE WAS RETURNED TO THE DODGE REPAIR SHOP WHO STATED THAT THE PREVIOUS REPAIR WAS DONE UNDER WARRANTY AND SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT COVER ANY REPAIRS EVEN THOUGHT THEY HAVE A 24 MONTH PART POLICY FOR REPAIRS PAID FOR BY THE CUSTOMER. SUSPECTED TO BE A TIPM ISSUE.
WHILE ON MY WAY TO WORK TRAVELING DOWNTOWN IN A BUSY AND TRAFFICKY BUSINESS DISTRICT IN WHICH ACCELERATION IS VITAL, UPON ATTEMPTING TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC AT GENERAL TRAFFIC SPEED THE TRANSMISSION STALLS AND I NEARLY GET RAMMED FROM BEHIND. FORTUNATELY THE DRIVER BEHIND ME NOTICED IT IN TIME & THOUGH MY VEHICLE DID NOT COMPLETELY STOP, IT STALLED ENOUGH TO HAVE CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAD NOTICED THE STALLING BEFORE, BUT NOT SO SIGNIFICANT. I HAVE TALKED WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AT MY DEALERSHIP & THEY HAVE SCHEDULED ME IN FOR A SERVICE VISIT IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. HAVING MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE, I'M APT TO BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING IS GOING AWRY IN THE POWER TRAIN. I JUST ACQUIRED THE CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS LESS THAN 82000 MILES. HOPEFULLY MY DEALERSHIP WILL ADDRESS THE ISSUE ACCORDINGLY & FAIRLY, GUESS I'LL KNOW SOON ENOUGH. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING DOWN ROAD THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF LOSING STEERING AND BRAKING WAS ABLE TO PUT IN NEUTRAL AND GET STARTED AFTER SEVERAL TRIES OF STARTING AND IT WOULD SHUT RIGHT BACK OFF BEFORE IT WOULD START AND STAY RUNNING, IT HAS DONE THIS NUMEROUS TIMES SOMETIMES WHEN FIRST STARTING VEHICLE SOMETIMES RIGHT AFTER STARTING AND DRIVING OFF, IT HAS DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO BUSY HIGHWAY ALMOST RESULTING IS AN ACCIDENT. IT HAPPENED TO MY WIFE A COUPLE OF TIMES THE FIRST TIME SHE COULD NOT GET IT TO START AND STAY RUNNING TO GET IT OUT OF THE ROADWAY AND HAD TO PUT THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND LEAVE IT SETTING ACROSS THE SOUTH BOUND LANE OF THE HIGHWAY TO COME BACK INSIDE TO GET ME TO TRY TO GET IT OUT OF THE ROAD. AFTER THAT INCIDENT SHE WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT,TOOK TO DEALERSHIP 02/09/15 GOT BACK TODAY 02/10/15 THEY HAD TO REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH MODULE AT A COST OF $286.75 THIS WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THERE IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR A FATALITY. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE DODGE CARAVAN'S AND DODGE JOURNEY'S WITH THE SAME TYPE WIN (WIRELESS IGNITION NODE) IGNITION SWITCH. *TR
THE WEEK OF MARCH 9TH OF THIS YEAR, WE TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT TO THE LOCAL DEALER: FRONTIER DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP 5801 SPUR 327 LUBBOCK, TX 79424 THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPAIRED. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD US THAT THEY WILL ONLY FIX THE ALIGNMENT AFTER THEY RECEIVE THE RECALL PART# N49. DUE TO THEM HAVING TO REALIGN IT AGAIN AFTER THEY REPAIR N49. THE STEERING WHEEL'S POSITION IS OFF. THE LOGO IS TILTED TO THE RIGHT. WITH THAT SAID, ITS NOW DECEMBER AND WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CALLS FROM THE DEALER. THEY HAVE NOT CONTACTED US WITH ANY UPDATES. WE CALLED IN JUNE AND THE SERVICE DESK AND WERE TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE OUR PART YET. THAT WAS SAID EVEN BEFORE WE GAVE THEM OUR NAME. HOW DID THEY KNOW WHO THEY WERE TALKING TO? AFTER WE IDENTIFIED THE TRUCK, THEY SAID THAT THE PART ISN'T IN YET. THE ONLY REASON THAT WE ARE CONTACTING YOU IS DUE TO THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT WE RECEIVED AT THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER. AND WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE RECALLS NEED TO BE DONE. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT ITS NOT GETTING DON?T IN A TIMELY MATTER. THE 2ND RECALL, WITH COMPARTMENT FIRE, SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD BE A DISASTER. I DON'T EVEN FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE TRUCK ESPECIALLY HAVING MY FAMILY IN IT. I WOULD REALLY LIKE A CALL OR SOME SORT OF RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE SITUATION. *TR

THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY DURING THE FAILURE. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, THE KEY BECAME STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH UNTIL AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS. IN ADDITION, THE GEAR SHIFTER MOVED OUT OF GEAR WHEN SLIGHTLY TOUCHED WHEN DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL" LIGHT ILLUMINATED IN THE DASH. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND TRIED RESTARTING. THE STARTER TURNED OVER BUT THE TRUCK ACTED AS IF AN ELEMENT NEEDED FOR COMBUSTION WAS MISSING. I TURNED MY HAZARDS ON--AS TRAFFIC WAS CLEARING AROUND ME. I TRIED STARTING THE TRUCK A DOZEN TIMES BEFORE CALLING 911 (SINCE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSTATE HWY). I TEXTED A FRIEND WHO SAID TRY STARTING WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED--THE TRUCK STARTED, BUT THEN WENT RIGHT BACK TO SPIKING IDLE AND THE ENGINE DIED AGAIN. AT THIS TIME TRAFFIC WAS SPEEDING BY SO FAST ON BOTH SIDES THAT I COULD NOT EXIT THE VEHICLE. STATE PATROL CAME TO PUSH ME TO THE SHOULDER. TRUCK STARTED AGAIN ON THE SHOULDER AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND I MANAGED TO MOVE IT ABOUT 50 FEET BEFORE IT DIED AGAIN. HAD TRUCK TOWED TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY INFORMED ME IT MAY TAKE UP TO 2 WEEKS BEFORE THEY CAN DIAGNOSE MY TRUCK. STILL UNDER WARRANTY. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS VEHICLE IN 6 WEEKS. FIRST TIME DEALERSHIP DROVE TRUCK 84 MILES AND RETURNED IT WITH A NOTE SAYING THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2012 RAM 1500 HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVEN TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE ORIGINAL PROBLEMS WERE RELATED TO THE PCM WHICH WOULD SHORT OUT AND CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO OPERATE IN ONLY ONE GEAR. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIXED FINALLY BY REPLACING THE PCM AND VARIOUS OTHER PARTS. MY TRUCK RECENTLY HAD THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE SENSOR, RIGHT HEADLIGHT, AND FUEL PUMP CONTROL GO OUT ALL AROUND THE SAME TIME WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR MY TRUCK TO START AND WHEN IT DID START IT SOUNDED ANEMIC AND WOULD OFTEN HAVE ALERTS GOING OFF. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THE TIPM WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS AND NOW I AM WONDERING IF IT IS THE ROUTE OF ALL THE OTHER PROBLEMS. THIS MOST RECENT REPAIR COST ME $1000 DOLLARS AND WELL OVER $100 IN ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS. MY TRUCK IS ONLY TWO AND A HALF YEARS OLD WITH 50K MILES ON IT. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS NEW OF A VEHICLE. CHRYSLER AND RAM HAVE A WELL DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF RECENT PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM ACROSS VARIOUS VEHICLES AND AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE CONDUCTED AND CUSTOMERS NEED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE PROBLEMS THIS PART HAS CAUSED.
VEHICLE WAS IN AUTOMATIC DRIVE, NOT MANUAL. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED INTO 4TH GEAR. I STOPPED, PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK, AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. WAITED TWO MINUTES AND TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON. PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO DRIVE AND IT STAYED IN 4TH GEAR AND WOULD NOT COME OUT. ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON UNTIL AFTER VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND THEN BACK ON. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO TRY A RESET AND THAT DID NOT WORK EITHER. THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT WOULD GO OFF AND ON IN INTERVALS AND THEN FINALLY WENT OUT COMPLETELY. I PURCHASED A STOCK BULB FROM A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THE BULB INSTALLED BY A DIFFERENT DODGE DEALERSHIP. AFTER HAVING THE BULB CHANGED AT FIELD'S CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP, THEY PULLED MY TRUCK AROUND FOR ME TO PICK UP AND I NOTICED THAT IT STILL WASN'T WORKING, SO THEY TOOK IT BACK INTO THE SHOP AND WORKED ON IT SOME MORE AND FINALLY GOT THE HEADLIGHT WORKING. WITHIN A FEW DAYS AFTER THE BULB REPLACEMENT, THE LIGHT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS A PART THAT THEY HAD TO ORDER, BUT USED A SECURITY TIE FOR THIS PART TO KEEP CONTINUITY UNTIL THE NEW PART ARRIVED. WHEN THE PART ARRIVED, I TOOK MY TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PART REPLACED. I RENTED A VEHICLE FOR THE DAY AND PICKED UP MY TRUCK THE FOLLOWING DAY. ABOUT 5 DAYS AFTER THIS REPAIR, THE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN. NOW, I HAVE TO TAKE THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP YET AGAIN AND SPEND MORE MONEY, TIME, MISSED WORK DUE TO THEIR DEFECTIVE PART AND DESIGN. I HAVE HAD SO MANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK THAT IT IS MIND BOGGLING. I WAS JUST PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE LAST NIGHT FOR THE LIGHT BEING OUT. I CONSTANTLY WORRY ABOUT GETTING PULLED OVER WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND THIS HAS BEEN EXTREMELY AGGRAVATING AND STRESSFUL. THIS HAS LIMITED MY DRIVING AT NIGHT SIGNIFICANTLY. I HAVE PERFORMED AN INTERNET SEARCH FOR THIS ISSUE WITH THIS TRUCK AND APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON SAFETY DEFECT. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH THE TRUCK FAILED TO DOWNSHIFT FOR AN INCLINE ON THE HIGHWAY LOOSING MOMENTUM. I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. AT THIS POINT I SIGNALED TO MOVE ONTO THE SHOULDER WHILE THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO LOSE MOMENTUM. WHEN I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO MOVE AS IF I HAD LOST MY POWER STEERING TOO. THE BRAKES WORKED AND I STOPPED ON THE SHOULDER. I PLACED THE TRUCK IN PARK AND BACK TO DRIVE: NOTHING HAPPENED. I PLACED THE TRUCK IN PARK, TURNED IT OFF, WAITED A COUPLE MINUTES AND RESTARTED. THE TRANSMISSION AND STEERING NOW WORKED. AT NO TIME DID ANY WARNING LIGHT APPEAR ON THE DASH. I COULD HAVE CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT PILE UP ON THE FREEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR. SINCE NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASH--HOW DO I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED--OR MORE LIKELY, HOW WILL THE DEALERSHIP FIND THE ROOT CAUSE FOR THIS FAILURE. THIS BEHAVIOR IS DANGEROUS AND UNACCEPTABLE FOR A 2 YEAR OLD TRUCK WITH LESS THAN 15K MILES. I USE MY TRUCK TO SOMETIMES PULL A HORSE TRAILER. I LET THE REPRESENTATIVE KNOW HE WAS INCORRECT IN MAKING SUCH A STATEMENT AS IT IS A REQUIREMENT AS FAR AS I WAS CONCERNED, MY MANUAL STATES I HAVE ONE, AS WELL AS THERE IS A PLACE FOR ONE TO GO, HOWEVER THE PACK IT'S SELF IS NOT THERE. HE THEN TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE REPORTED THE PROBLEM SOONER. AFTER ASKING HIM HOW I WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT UNTIL I HAD AN EMERGENCY, HE TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE INSPECTED THE EQUIPMENT BEFORE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED TO STOP VEHICLE WHEN APPROACHING RED LIGHT. WAS ABLE TO APPLY EMERGENCY BRAKE WHICH IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED. IMMEDIATELY LOOK VEHICLE TO DODGE DEALER WHO OVERLOOKED BRAKE SYSTEM FOR LEAKS AND AIR IN BRAKE LINES. DEALER SAID NOTHING WAS FOUND BUT THAT THEY HAVE SEEN SITUATIONS WHERE THE BRAKES CAN BECOME 'SOFT' WHILE SLOWLY APPLYING THE BRAKES AND THEY EVEN HAD A FANCY NAME CALLED 'BRAKE CONTINUOUS TRAVEL' OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. I EXPLAINED THAT SOFT BRAKES AND FAILED BRAKES ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS AS FAILED BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THEY SAID IF IT OCCURS AGAIN BRING IT BACK TO DEALER, THIS MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE IF IT HAPPENS AT THE WRONG TIME.

AFTER INVESTIGATING I WALKED OUTSIDE AND FOUND THAT THE INTERIOR OF MY TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. I PUT OUT THE FIRE AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO RESPONDED TO ENSURE THAT THE FIRE WAS COMPLETELY OUT. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY IN ADDITION TO THE LOCAL DEALER, JEFF D'AMBORSIO AUTO GROUP, I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO IN TURN CONTACTED HIS REGIONAL MANAGER FOR GUIDANCE. I RECEIVED A LETTER DATE JULY 10, 2014 FROM THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CLAIMS RESOLUTION GROUP ADVISING THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF REVIEWING MY FILE. I WAS CONTACTED BY THE RESOLUTION GROUP AND ADVISED THE FILE WAS BEING TURNED OVER TO A GROUP, ISG, FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION IN RESOLUTION. CHRYSLER ARRANGED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED ON JULY 12, 2014 TO THE JEFF D' AMBROSIO DEALERSHIP WHERE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM CHRYSLER WAS TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THAT INSPECTION TOOK PLACE ON TUESDAY, JULY 15TH. THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE ACCORDING TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY FIRE INVESTIGATOR ORIGINATED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PANEL AND RESULTED IN TOTAL DAMAGES OF $23,000 WHICH THE INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SETTLED A CLAIM BY PAYING OFF THE LOAN BALANCE OF $19,500 AND SUBMITTED A CHECK TO ME FOR THE EXCESS TO COVER THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN FIRST I GOT THE DODGE RAM 2012 AT ANCIRA FORD IT WAS FINE AFTER LIKE ABOUT A MONTH OR SO I WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK AND THE BREAKS FELT VERY LOOSE I ALMOST CRUSH WITH MY THREE KIDS AND I CALL THE ANCIRA FORD AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE THE TRUCK STAYED THERE FOR LIKE ABOUT A WEEK AND THEY NEVER FELT THE BREAKS AND THEN I GOT IT BACK AND RIGHT THERE AND THEN IT DID THE SAME THING SO I TOOK IT AGAIN AND IT STAY THERE LIKE ANOTHER WEEK AND THAT'S WHEN THEY TOLD ME THAT IT DID IT TO THEM TOO THEY PUT SOME NEW PARTS BUT THEY DIDN'T WORK IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING I ALMOST CRASH YESTURDAY WITH MY THREE KIDS CAN U HELP I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THE TRUCK THAT THE BREAKS DON'T WORK.
THE HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF AND STAY OFF INDEFINITELY. TOGGLING THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH CAN SOMETIMES GET THEM TO COME BACK ON, BUT NOT ALWAYS. *TR
HAVE HAD ISSUES ON STEERING STRAIGHT AND VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE STEERING WHEEL HAS NOT BEEN IN ALIGNMENT SINCE BEFORE THE DEALER ALIGNMENT WAS DONE. TIRES SQUEAL AT TURNS AT SLOW SPEED, I HAVE HAD THE TIRES BALANCED ROTATED, I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK ALIGNED BY THE DEALER WITH NO EFFECTIVE DIFFERENCE IN THE STEERING OR THE WEAR ON THE TIRES.
I HAD BOTH THE HIGH AND LOW BEAM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OUT ON MAY 9TH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM THAT IT SEEMED STRANGE BOTH BULBS WOULD GO OUT AT THE SAME TIME. THE DEALER PULLED THE FRONT END APART AND CHANGED BOTH BULBS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND TOLD ME THEY WERE BURNED OUT AND ARE NOW FIXED. MAY 10TH AT 6:30AM I GOT UP AND STARTED MY TRUCK AND ONCE AGAIN THE PASSENGER SIDE HIGH AND LOW BEAM LIGHT WAS OUT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE TECHNICIAN ACTUALLY MADE SURE IT WAS ONLY THE BULB NO WIRING OR CONNECTION PROBLEM AND DOES NOT KNOW WHY IT IS OUT AGAIN. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND ALSO A VIOLATION TO BE DRIVING WITH A HEADLIGHT OUT IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND. SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM WITH THE FAULTY ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE HEADLIGHTS AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE THEIR IS AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE. IT IS NOW IN THE SAME DEALER AGAIN TO SEE WHAT EXCUSE OTHER THAN A BULB ISSUE THEY CAN COME UP WITH TO CHARGE ME AGAIN. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND DODGE LOOK INTO THIS AND FIX IT IMMEDIATELY. *TR
MY WIFE WAS IN A WRECK YESTERDAY SHE HIT A TRUCK IN THE REAR END AND AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING HER FACIAL INJURIES ALSO A LATER SURGERY. *TR
DRIVING OUT OF HOME TO WORK, LIGHT DASH PANEL TURNED OFF AND ON, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON WITHOUT BEING ON, SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION, THE RADIO TURNED OFF AND ON, AND NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. HAVE LEFT VEHICLE WITH AUTO NATION DODGE IN SPRING, TX AND THEY HAVE HAD IT IN THE SERVICE CENTER FOR 2 DAYS NOW AND ARE UNABLE TO FIND OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE. *TR
