MY DODGE RAM 1500 HAS ISSUES WITH THE IGNITION AND DOESN'T ALWAYS START. SOME TIMES IT WILL START AFTER 2-3 ATTEMPTS OF ENGAGING THE SWITCH. IT WILL ALSO DIE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. HITTING BUMPS WILL CAUSE THE TRUCK TO DIE AS WELL. BECOMING VERY DANGEROUS. UNHAPPY THIS TRUCK WAS NOT RECALLED WHEN THESE ISSUES WERE RECALLED IN SAME YEAR AND IN SIMILAR VEHICLES. *TR
LIFTER/ TAPPER FAILURE IN CYLINDERS 3 AND 5.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE TRAVELING ON AN OFF RAMP AT 35 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP COULD HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED TWICE ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUED TO RUN FROM THE RELAY AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DIE. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT CALLED ANOTHER MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW TIPM OR RELAY SWITCH WAS NEEDED. THE CONTACT CALLED OXMOOR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (4520 SHELBYVILLE RD, LOUISVILLE, KY 40207, (502) 895-4520) AND WAS GIVEN A COST ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE TIPM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,200.
CYLINDER MISFIRE AT HIGH RPM. ROLLER LIFTERS GETTING STUCK OR WEARING AND CAUSING GROOVES OR EXCESSIVE CAMSHAFT WEAR. RANDOM CYLINDERS AND LIFTERS BECOMING STUCK OR BEARINGS ON LIFTERS FAILING CAUSING EXCESSIVE AND PREMATURE CAMSHAFT WEAR OR FAILURE OF LOBES ON CAMSHAFT. 2012 HEMI 5.7L ENGINE. HAPPENS WHEN ENGINE PUT UNDER A LOAD SUCH AS GETTING ONTO HIGHWAY OR PASSING A SLOWER MOVING VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ATHENS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 4145 ATLANTA HWY, ATHENS, GA 30606, 706-510-0290), BUT IT WAS NOT OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. *CW MANUFACTURER STATED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK WAS NEEDED TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS IN THE STEERING COLUMN. CONSUMER STATES THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCKS AND THAT MANUFACTURER SHOULD DO A RECALL. *DL
TRUCK SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. RELAY PROBLEM. HAD TOLD GET TOWED TWICE $165 EACH TIME. WAS GOING 50MPH WHEN TRUCK LOST ALL POWER IN METAIRIE LOUISIANA ON THE CAUSEWAY BRIDGE 1ST TIME. THIS CAN KILL SOMEONE! THIS COULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER DODGE TRUCK! CHEVY I WILL STICK TOO! I KNOW ANYTHING YOU BUY CAN HAVE A PROBLEM BUT WHEN PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEMS AND NOTHING IS DONE IT'S BAD BUSINESS! CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING DONE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. CONSUMER STATES FAILURE IS COMMON IN OTHER 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 VEHICLES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG POPPED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER THE AIR BAG POPPED, THE CHECK ENGINE AND AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO RICHARDSON CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (1321 N CENTRAL EXPY, RICHARDSON, TX 75080, 214-329-0862) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN TRANSMISSION RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, BUT NOTHING IN RELATION TO THE AIR BAGS. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V459000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 81,000.

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT FUEL TANK WAS HANGING AND THE STRAP WAS MAKING CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED PRECISION CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 1341 NJ-23, BUTLER, NJ 07405, (973) 838-6808) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
CAMSHAFT ON HEMI ENGINES ARE DEFECTIVE AND FAIL CAUSING ENGINE TO FAIL AND COSTING OWNER $6,000 TO REPAIR. THIS DEFECT IS EFFECTING THOUSANDS OF THESE ENGINES AND DODGE/RAM NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. HAD MINE REPAIRED FOR $6,000 BY A DODGE DEALERSHIP IN CT. SINCE HAVE COME TO FIND OUT THIS DEFECT IS RAMPANT ON THESE ENGINES ON MANY YEARS OF RAM TRUCKS WITH HEMI ENGINE. DODGE MUST OWN UP TO THIS AND THEY MUST BE RECALLED. ONLY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CAN GET THEM TO DO THIS BECAUSE IT IS THE ENGINE WHICH IS AT STAKE.
LOWER CONTROL ARM BROKE IN HALF DRIVING STRAIGHT THROUGH A PARKING LOT, CAUSING PARTIAL SEPARATION OF FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL AND HUB ASSEMBLY FROM VEHICLE AND LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AS WELL AS SUDDEN DECELERATION. RESULTING IN COMPLETE DAMAGE TO BRAKE LINE, UPPER CONTROL ARM, DRIVE SHAFT, STEERING RACK, STEERING COLUMN(BROKEN INTERNAL STEERING SHAFT), AIRBAG AND STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS CLOCKSPRING, PASSENGER FENDER, BUMPER ASSEMBLY, AS WELL AS SECOND DEGREE BURNS TO FOREARMS FROM THE RESULTING STEERING WHEEL BACKLASH. THIS OCCURRED AT APPX 10MPH. AN ACQUAINTANCE QUALIFIED TO HAVE AN OPINION ON THE CAUSE LOOKED AT PHOTOS OF THE PARTS GRAIN STRUCTURE AT BREAK, CONCLUDED CASTING ERROR OF CAST ALUMINUM CONTROL ARM.*DT *JS*DT IN NOV 21, 2019 CONSUMER STATED HE REPLACED THE FOLLOWING HIMSELF UPPER CONTROL ARM, LOWER CONTROL ARM, BRAKE LINE, FRONT R DRIVE SHAFT, STEERING RACK, FENDER, IMPACT ABSORBER/BUMPER SUPPORT, STEERING COLUMN, AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING, FENDER LINER AND AIRBOX/FILTER SUPPORT. CONSUMER ALSO STATED, IT APPEARS TONE RING IN THE BEARING HUB FOR ABS SPEED SENSOR WAS DAMAGED BY THIS OCCURRENCE, THIS HAS YET TO BE REPLACED.*JB*DT*JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A BRACKET WAS RUSTED AROUND THE FUEL TANK. THE FUEL TANK WAS BASICALLY AN INCH OFF THE GROUND WHILE DRIVING HOME ON A 500 MILE ROAD TRIP. THE CONTACT NOTICED THIS BECAUSE THE BRACKET DRAGGED ON THE GROUND AND CAUSED SPARKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED ON A FLATBED TO LESTER GLENN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (1199 NJ-37 W, TOMS RIVER, NJ 08755, (732) 481-2586) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR STRAPS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF $1,600. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS MADE OVERSEAS AND SHIPPED TO CANADA. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. BILL LUKE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (2425 W CAMELBACK RD, PHOENIX, AZ 85015) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED THIS FAILURE IN THE MOTOR IS APPARENT IN MULTIPLE REPORTS ACROSS A MULTITUDE OF FORUMS. THE COLLAPSE OF LIFTERS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AND CHRYSLER KNOWS IT! THEY REFUSE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY OVER THEIR KNOWN DEFECT! THESE MOTORS MUST BE CALLED FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL!*JB
VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS ACCELERATING. IT WILL HESITATE TO ACCELERATE WHEN NORMALLY PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE. I HAVE TO FLOOR IT HEADING INTO FREEWAY ENTRANCES, UP HILLS OR PICKING UP SPEED OVER 40MPH. ONCE IT RESPONDS AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS IT OVER ACCELERATES JERKS AND BUCKLES THEN STRUGGLES TO KEEPS A STEADY SPEED. IT'S A DAILY SAFETY HAZARD MERGING INTO FREEWAYS COUSING OTHER DRIVERS TO SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN OR HAVE TO CHANGE LANES BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY, IT LOST POWER AND SHUT OFF. HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID MY VALVES, LIFTERS, AND CAMSHAFT WERE DAMAGED. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 110,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE TRUCK LOST POWER, IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, LUCKY THOUGH I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER IN ENOUGH TIME, BEFORE ANOTHER VEHICLE COULD HIT ME. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON THING, WITH THESE TRUCKS, THE MECHANIC CAN'T REPLACE THE PIECES BECAUSE OF OUT OF STOCK, SO HE WANTS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, BEFORE SOMEONE DOES GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.

AS I WAS ROUDING A CURVE VEHICLE LOSS TOTAL POWER CAUSING ME TO LOSE TOTAL CONTROL OF VEHICLE IN RETURN CAUSIN ME TO HIT A BANK AND FLIP UPSIDE DOWN ON STREET. VEHICLE WOULD LOSE TOTAL POWER AT ANY GIVEN TIME WITH NO EXPLANATION. VEHICLE LOSS TOTAL POWER NUMEROUS TIMES ALMOST CAUSING NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS.*DT *TR
LOUD TICKING NOISE CAUSED BY LIFTER/CAMSHAFT MALFUNCTION. TRUCK LOSES POWER. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, TRUCK STARTED MISFIRING (CYLINDER 3). HAD TO PUT ON HAZARD FLASHERS AND DRIVE AT SEVERELY REDUCED SPEEDS FOR 125 MILES TO GET HOME. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE HEMI ENGINE. CANNOT GET LIFTERS DUE TO SUPPLY AND DEMAND ISSUES. IF YOU CAN FIND LIFTERS, THE PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS. DODGE DEALER.STATES THERE ARE MORE THAN 10,000 LIFTERS ON BACK ORDER. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE INVESTIGATE. WE MAY HAVE TO LET OUR TRUCK GO BACK TO THE BANK AS WE CANNOT DRIVE IT BUT STILL OWE 20K!!! PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF THOUSANDS OF AFFECTED DODGE OWNERS, DO SOMETHING!!!
In approximately 2019 I received multiple warning lights including "Serv 4WD", TCS disabled, and ABS warning lights. Had it looked at by the dealer who replaced wheel sensors and performed diagnostics. All lights cleared exept TCS disabled warning which is indicationg that the TCS system is not functioning and has a collateral effect of the cruise control not being able to turn on. I have paid to have this remaining indication diagnosed on two different occasions, each leading to a dealership recommendation to replace the Hydraulic Control Unit / ABS Module at a cost of approximately $1500 and a wait for backordered parts exceeding one year - all with no guarantee of this fixing the problem. My truck has been in this condition for about 5 years now. A quick Google search will show that there have been multiple instances of faults of this type affecting the HCU/ABS modules with the problem becoming particularly prevalent in the 2017-2018 model years. Thousands of complaints have been submitted and Class Action Lawsuits started, but it appears FCA has yet to adequately address this potential safety issue caused by a defective part that is known to them.

FUEL PUMP RELAY WILL NOT SHUT OFF CAUSING BATTERY TO DIE
DODGE RAM 2012 IGNITION SENSOR MALFUNCTIONS AND COMPLETELY TURNS OFF VEHICLE WHILE IN USE. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO RECALLING IMMEDIATELY.

I WAS DRIVING A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 IN MOTION, TRAVELING SOUTH ON HWY 20 AT 55 MPH. TOYOTA TUNDRA RAN STOP SIGN ON MCKENZIE RD/ HWY 20 AND WAS CITED FOR INFRACTION TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. TOYOTA TUNDRA HIT PASSENGER SIDE OF DODGE RAM CAB BROADSIDE CAUSING DODGE RAM TO ROLLOVER TWICE IN DITCH EVENTUALLY LANDING ON WHEELS AND STOPPING. DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS AND DRIVER FRONT AIR BAG DID NOT INFLATE IN DODGE RAM. ONLY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS INFLATED IN DODGE RAM. I WAS THE DRIVER OF THE DODGE RAM AND RECEIVED CONCUSSION FROM HITTING HEAD ON STEERING WHEEL AND NECK AND BACK INJURIES FROM HITTING DRIVER SIDE DOOR DURING ROLLOVERS. I WAS WEARING A SEATBELT. THE DODGE RAM AND TOYOTA TUNDRA WERE DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS BY INSURANCE COMPANY. THE IMPACT OF THE COLLISION WAS SEVERE ENOUGH TO DRASTICALLY IMPACT SPEED OF THE DODGE RAM AND CAUSE MAJOR VEHICLE DAMAGE DURING ROLL OVER. WHY DIDN'T DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOY? I JUST PURCHASED A USED DODGE RAM 1500 HEMI, AND DEALER FIXED 2 OPEN RECALLS AT THE TIME. THERE WAS A SLIGHT NOISE UNDER THE HOOD AT TEST DRIVE AND THEY TOOK IT ONTO THEIR SHOP AND SAID THEY REPLACED SOMETHING, NOT SURE WHAT THEY SAID. BUT NOISE WAS REDUCED. I TOOK CAR FOR A DRIVE ACROSS COUNTRY AND WHEN I GOT TO MY DESTINATION MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT THE COMPUTER READING TO FIND OUT IT WAS A CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE. THAT SHOP SAID IT COULD BE FROM A NUMBER OF THINGS, BUT THEY WERE NOT A SERVICE SHOP TO DO A DEEPER ANALYSIS. I THEN TOOK IT TO A SHOP THAT DID A FULL DIAGNOSTIC OF THE TRUCK . THEIR FINDINGS WERE REVEALED THAT THE COMPUTER WAS GIVING A CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE READING BUT THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE ENGINE. THEY WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE BEEN SEEING THE SAME PROBLEM IN MANY OF THE DODGE 1500. WHEN THEY CALLED TO GET PRICES ON THE USED RECONDITIONED ENGINE, THEY WERE TOLD THAT, THERE ARE IS AN HUGE BACK ORDER FOR DODGE 1500 HEMI ENGINE DUE TO MANY PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM ( CYLINDER 2 OR CYLINDER 8 MISFIRE) THIS IS DEFINITELY A TREND GOING ON WITH THIS MAKE VEHICLE. WITH THIS PROBLEM , VEHICLE LOOSES POWER AND OF COARSE THE SLIGHT HESITATION IN THE ENGINE. YOU CAN HEAR THE MISFIRING AND COULD FEEL IT WHEN I ACCELERATE ON THE ROAD AND HIGHWAY. WHEN ENTERING A HIGHWAY , IT IS VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE ENOUGH TO AVOID ONCOMING VEHICLES
I STARTED TO HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE TRUCK AS IT WOULD NOT START IN THE MORNINGS WHEN I WAS TRYING TO GO TO WORK. I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, MY BATTERY WOULD BE DEAD MOST MORNINGS. I REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT STILL THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED. THE TRUCK STARTED TO LOSE POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING SO I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. HE TOLD ME THAT THE TIPM WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM TO HAVE IT FIXED. I HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK LESS THAT 7000 MILES SINCE I PURCHASED IT. AFTER SPEAKING WITH FCA, THEY SAY THAT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP OUT BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I WANT TO KNOW WHY A RECALL WAS NEVER PUT IN PLACE AND ENACTED BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY I'M HAVING TO PAY $1794.03 OUT OF POCKET FOR THE FAULTS OF THE MANUFACTURER PF THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. UPON WASHING THE CAB WITH A LOWER PRESSURE GARDEN HOSE A LARGE HOLE FORMED IN THE BACK CORNER OF THE CAB. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION IT APPEARS TO BE RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. I CHECK THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAB AND SEE THAT THE PAINT IS BADLY BUBBLED UP INDICATING RUST UNDER THE PAINT ON THAT SIDE AS WELL. THE CLEAR COAT WAS STILL INTACT IN BOTH PLACES. I WOULD'VE EXPECTED TO CAB TO OUTLAST THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, BUT THAT'S NOT THE CASE. THIS TRUCK LOOKS SHOW ROOM FLOOR NEW AND HAS NEVER EVEN BEEN TO THE SALT BELT.
2012 RAM 1500 - CRANKED MY RAM TRUCK ONE MORNING AND THE ENGINE HAD A KNOCK WITH A TAPPING SOUND, TURN OFF CHECK THE OIL LEVEL WHICH WAS OK! STARTED THE ENGINE AND ONLY HEARD LIKE A MAINIFOLD LEAK. AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES , I NOTICE THAT THE TRUCK WAS SHAKY DURING TAKE-OFF OR CLIMBING A HILL. DROP TRUCK OFF AT MY MECHANIC FOR A TUNE-UP AND LATER THAT DAY MY MECHANIC NOTIFIED ME THE TUNE-UP WASN'T THE PROBLEM. HE REMOVE THE CAMS/LIFTERS TO #5 LIFTER AND THAT LIFTER WASN'T MOVING LIKE 1,3 & 7. "IS WAS LIKE THE LUG ON THE CAM WERE WORE OUT."
EXHAUST STUDS BROKE TOOK TO SHOP FOR REPAIR GOT BACK STILL EXHAUST LEAK TOOK BACK HAD TO REPLACE DRIVER SIDE MANIFORD WAS TOLD BY DODGE DEALER SHOP THAT NEW DESIGN STUDS WAS AVAILABLE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM DODGE HAD WITH STUDS BREAKING PAID OVER $1200 FOR THIS WORK

THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THERE WAS CURRENTLY NO UPDATED SOFTWARE FOR THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AS I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH, AND APPROACHING THE CURVES ON THE ROAD AHEAD OF ME, I LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAD NO POWER STEERING, GAS, OR BRAKES. ALL GAUGES DROPPED TO 0 AND I HAD TO COAST TO BE ABLE TO STOP. HAD I MADE IT TO THE CURVES, BY VEHICLE WOULD OF CRASHED OFF THE SIDE OF ROAD. APPARENTLY THE PCM WENT BAD. THIS IS NOT A PART THAT SHOULD EVER GO BAD. THIS PART MALFUNCTION COULD OF KILLED ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. NONETHELESS IT WAS ALSO $1303, TOWING FEES, AND 5 DAYS OF CAR RENTAL. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANOTHER DRIVER. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OF THIS PART. I NOW HAVE A FEAR WHEN I DRIVE THE TRUCK I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A FAKE PHONE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,000.

I BOUGHT 2012 RAM 1500 IN AUGUST 2018, I MAKE PAYMENT. THIS PAST APRIL VIBRATION AND HESITATION GOT WORSE, I HAD PLUGS REPLACED , DIDN'T HELP. FOUND OUT THAT LIFTERS NEEDED REPLACED AND CAMSHAFT. I SPENT $217 ON PLUG REPLACEMENT AND ADDITIONAL $4500 TO REPLACE LIFTERS CAMSHAFT. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON NOW IT'S SAYING VAPORATION LEAK. I HAVE READ THAT THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND NO RECALL FROM CHRYSLER. THIS IS MY FIRST DODGE, THIS WILL BE MY LAST DODGE UNLESS I GET COMPENSATION FROM CHRYSLER. I KNOW THIS TRUCK IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, BUT CHRYSLER HAS TO KNOW THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE HEMI , I WAS TOLD AT A DEALER THIS WAS COMMON IN HEMI , NO ONE TOLD ME THAT WHEN I BROUGHT I STILL OWE ON THIS TRUCK , PLUS I'M OUT $4667 THAT I CAN'T GET BACK IF I TRADED, ONLY HAD 8 MONTHS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. SERIOUS EXHAUST LEAK. ALSO, EXHAUST IS LEAKING INTO THE CABIN. MY 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK HAS 77,000 MILES. I NOTICED A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND A TERRIBLE SMELL INSIDE THE TRUCK. I REALIZED THE VEHICLE HAS AN EXHAUST LEAK. THE LEAK IS COMING FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. A MECHANIC FRIEND OF MINE WHO WORKS AT A SHOP IN GAINESVILLE FL TOLD ME HIS SHOP HAS REPAIRED 125 OF THE SAME TRUCKS IN 2.5 YRS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS THE MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE FAILING/BREAKING WHICH CAUSES AN EXHAUST LEAK WHICH IN TURN CAUSES THE MANIFOLD TO WARP. MY TRUCK HAS NOW HAD THE SAME FAILURE AND IS CURRENTLY AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. MY TRUCK WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. IN MY OPINION THIS EXHAUST LEAK IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM JUST LIKE FORD RECENTLY HAD WITH THEIR POLICE VEHICLES.

CAM AND LIFTER FAILURE UNDER 90,000MILES ON IT HAD FOR ABOUT A YEAR BOUGHT FROM DODGE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THERE WAS NO WARRANTY OR EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON IT THIS IS PRIME EXAMPLE OF A LEMON FOR THE LEMON LAW THIS IS APPARENTLY A COMMON ISSUE ON THESE ENGINES WITH A REPAIR COST OF 4400 DOLLARS OR MORE THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ALSO THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY TRUCK MORE THAN 3 MONTHS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T GET THE CAMSHAFT OR LIFTERS BECAUSE OF ISSUES WITH THEM AND ARE ON BACKORDER WHICH MEANS THEY HAVE BEEN PUTTING IN FAULTY PARTS INTO THE ENGINES
2012 RAM 1500 VIN NOT INCLUDED IN RECALLED VIN HAD THE FRONT FUEL STRAP PULL OUT OF FRAME AND WAS NOT HOLDING UP THE GAS TANK. I AM UNSURE IF THIS LET LOOSE WHEN STATIONARY OR WHILE DRIVING. THE FRONT OF THE GAS TANK WAS CLOSE TO THE GROUND NEARLY MAKING CONTACT. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL GROUP AND THERE MAY BE MORE VIN'S THAT NEED RECALLED.

THE LIFTERS HAVE FAILED AND THERE IS ONLY AROUND 80,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE HEMI ENGINES THAT HAVE THE MDS SYSTEM. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE IT FIXED WHEN THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM AND DESIGN FLAW
MY RAM 2012 TRUCK WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH ON THE HIGHWAY I-83 NORTH BOUND IN PA. MY TRUCK WAS IN PARK WHEN IT WAS STRUCK FROM THE BEHIND BY A JEEP LIMITED. THE FORCE LAUNCHED MY TRUCK FORWARD AND HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME THAT WAS ABOUT 10-15 FEET AWAY. I AM GUESSING THE SPEED OF JEEP WHEN I WAS STRUCK WAS ATLEAST 40 MPH OR MORE. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOYED. THE DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK IS ALMOST $12,000. DAMAGES WERE TO THE FRONT, REAR, AND THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK. DAMAGES TO THE OTHER TWO VEHICLES WERE FAR WORST
