TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH ON A TWO LANE ROAD, TWO VEHICLES IN THE LEFT LANE WERE RACING. THE CONTACT HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID A HEAD ON COLLISION. WHEN THE CONTACT SWERVED TO THE RIGHT, THE VEHICLE STRUCK A CONCRETE BARRIER. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE FRONT END FRAME WAS BENT. THE DRIVER'S AND FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE FACE, SHOULDERS, AND EYES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT ALSO SUFFERED MEMORY LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER INVESTIGATED THE FAILURE AND CONCLUDED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TRAVELING FAST ENOUGH FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TRAVELING AT LEAST 18 MPH FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 57184099. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A BODY SHOP. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000. *DT*JB

FAILURE OF DEALER TO TAKE CARE OF A BTSI RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER. RECALL WAS DEC 2017 AND IT IS NOW END OF JULY 2018 WITH NO FIX IN SITE.
"TAKATA RECALL" PROBLEM TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID CIRCUITS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR AXLE PINON NUT WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO BYERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (465 S HAMILTON RD, COLUMBUS, OH) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS CONFIRMED; HOWEVER, THE DEALER REFUSED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V038000 (SUSPENSION) BECAUSE THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,126.
I RECEIVED AN URGENT WARNING VIA POST CARD REQUIRING A FIX TO THE BRAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK IN JULY 2018. DEALER CANNOT INSTALL FIX UNTIL JANUARY 2019. THIS IS NOT TIMELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (LIGHTNING BOLT WARNING SYMBOL) INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED RAPIDLY. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. STERLING HEIGHTS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (40111 VAN DYKE AVENUE, STERLING HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN 48310, (586) 939-3900) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE OCCURRED. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND BECAME STUCK. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BUMPER AND HEADLIGHTS WERE DAMAGED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
STARTED HEARING A LOUD TICKING SOUND COMING FROM ENGINE ON PASSENGER SIDE WHEN ENGINE IS COLD. ONCE ENGINE WARMS UP SOUND GOES AWAY.
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAKS DUE TO BROKEN BOLTS ADHERING MANIFOLD TO ENGINE. THE PROBLEM IS WIDE SPREAD AND A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, IT IS POSSIBLY ALLOWING EXHAUST GAS INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT DUE TO LEAK FROM POOR DESIGN, COSTING CONSUMER MORE THAN 1000$ TO FIX BOTH SIDES OF MANIFOLD.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. TRUCK ENGINE BEGAN TAPPING AND HAD POOR ACCELERATION. DEALERSHIP HAS DIAGNOSED A CYLINDER 5 MISS FIRE. CHANGING LIFTERS AND CAM SHAFT. TRUCK HAS 74,000 MILES.
ON FRIDAY 6/29/2018 AT ABOUT 5:00 PM I WAS DRIVING HOME ON NORTHBOUND I -75 AND M-59 IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHEN THE TRUCK PULLED TO THE LEFT AND I NOTICED PUFF OF WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I GOT OFF AT THE UNIVERSITY EXIT AND PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND OPENED THE HOOD. IT WAS A REALLY HOT DAY AND I COULDN'T TELL WHERE TO ODDER OR SMOKE HAD COMING FROM. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO MILOSCH'S PALACE. THEY THOUGHT THE FRONT LEFT CALIBER WAS LOCKED UP.MILEAGE WAS 79,802 ON THE ODOMETER. THEY SAID IT JUST HAPPENS SOMETIMES. THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS HAD BEEN REPLACED IN NOVEMBER 2017. MILOSCH'S PALACE REPLACED THE CALIPER, ROTOR, PADS AND ABS SENSOR HARNESS THAT MALTED. THE DIDN'T REPLACE THE BEARING HUB OR CALIPER MOUNTING BRACKET. ON AUGUST 18TH I TOOK IN TO CASEVILLE MICHIGAN AND THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL GOT HOT AGAIN. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO TUBBS BROTHER ON AUGUST 21ST. THE MILEAGE WAS 80,507 ON THE ODOMETER. THE REPAIR BILL CAME TO $2,031.73. I PICKED THE TRUCK UP ON SEPTEMBER 6TH.THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE DRIVER'S SIDE BEARING HUB. HE SAID THE BRAKE LINE FAILED (COLLAPSED) AND CAUSED THE BRAKE TO PADS TO STICK. I TOLD HIM TO REPLACE THE BEARING AND CHECK THE OTHER LINES AND FLUSH THE SYSTEM. ON SEPTEMBER 23RD 2018 I WENT TO PULL MY BOAT OUT OF THE LAKE FOR THE SEASON AND DROVE IT 12 MILES AND NOW THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE IS OVERHEATING. THE VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 80,600 MILES ON IT.
TAKATA RECALL - DODGE RAM 1500 4X4 AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET IN WESTPORT WA. UNKNOWN FAULTY AIRBAG DUE TO MOISTURE AND SALT IN THE AIR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AFTER STRIKING A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOST POWER COMPLETELY. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PARKED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER SLOWLY TURNING THE IGNITION KEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAULTY. BIMIDJI CHRYSLER CENTER LLC (755 PAUL BUNYAN DRIVE NW, BIMIDJI, MINNESOTA 56601, (218) 751-8006) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000. *DT*JB
WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN OR ON THE FREEWAY THE TRUCK WILL TURN OFF COMPLETELY. RADIO STAYS ON LIGHTS FLICKER BUT YOU LOOSE ALL POWER AND ABILITY TO TURN OR BRAKE. THIS HAPPENED IN TOWN GOING 25 MPH AND ALSO ON THE FREEWAY GOING 75 MPH. WHEN IT HAPPENS YOU MUST PUT THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE ENGINE AND PRAY IT STARTS BECAUSE YOU LOOSE THE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICULAR MOVEMENTS ONCE THE STEERING LOCKS UP. ONCE STARTED IT USUALLY GOES FOR AWHILE BUT THE OTHER DAY WHILE ON THE FREEWAY IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES. ONCE WHILE ACCELERATING UP A HILL SURROUNDED BY CARS AND SEMI TRUCKS. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN BECAUSE BY LOOSING ELECTRICAL FUNCTION AND POWER TO A CAR/TRUCK COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I AM TAKING IT IN TO GET IT FIXED I HOPE SOON BUT THIS IS A MANUFACTURED DEFECT IN THE IGNITION OR KEY THAT COULD RESULT IN MAJOR INJURY OR DEATH.
WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THE IS A DISTINCT TICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. AS THE VEHICLE WARMS UP IT GOES AWAY. AFTER LATER DIAGNOSIS, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BOLTS ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAD BROKE OFF OR SHEARED OFF FROM THE HEAD. THIS WAS SAID TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH RAM TRUCKS BECAUSE OF THE HEAT DISPLACEMENT ISSUE. I COME TO FIND OUT THAT CHRYSLER HAS NO RECORD OR INTENTION OF ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. THE CURRENT WARRANTY WILL ONLY COVER A FRACTION OF COST. IF THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE, IT SHOULD BE FIXED INSTEAD OF MAKING THE CONSUMER PAY MORE FOR THE PRODUCT DEFECTS.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEADER BOLTS ARE PRONE TO BREAKING DUE TO AN INCOMPATIBILITY BETWEEN THE ALUMINUM BLOCK AND THE CAST IRON HEADER MANIFOLDS. THEY EXPAND/CONTRACT AT DIFFERENT RATES CAUSING THE BOLTS TO STRETCH AND EVENTUALLY BREAK OFF CAUSING A MANIFOLD LEAK, WHICH REDUCES PERFORMANCE, DECREASES GAS MILEAGE AND LET'S EXHAUST GASSES ENTER THE ATMOSPHERE WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THIS OCCURRED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE ON MY TRUCK AT 65,000 MILES, AND AGAIN ON THE LEFT SIDE AT 78,000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE DRIVESHAFT DISLODGED FROM THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED THE REAR WHEELS TO SEIZE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SLID DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND OFF TO THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PATRIOT DODGE (2499 MARYLAND HWY, OAKLAND, MD 21550), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A CALL BACK TO SEE IF THEY COULD ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR FEES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAK. MOST PEOPLE I HAVE TALKED TO WITH A 4TH GENERATION RAM HAVE OR HAD THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 35K MILES ON IT.
WHEEL STUD FAILURE - REAR WHEELS. WHEEL STUDS SHOW EXCESSIVE WEAR, STRETCHING AND COMPRESSION.
I HAD NOTICED THAT MY TRUCK WAS RIDING ROUGH. I TOOK IT IN TO THE GARAGE WHERE IT DOES GET SERVICED AND FOUND OUT THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE AXLE SHAFT, AXLE BEARING, AXLE SEAL, BRAKE CALIPER,BRAKE ROTOR AND BRAKE PADS ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT LOOKED LIKE THE ENTIRE SIDE HAD BEEN SET ON FIRE. GARAGE TOLD ME THEY WERE GLAD I BROUGHT IT IN WHEN I DID BECAUSE I WAS ABOUT TO LOSE ALL CONTROL AND WOULD HAVE HAD A TERRIBLE CRASH.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LBJ OF LOUISBURG (1188 US HIGHWAY 401 SOUTH, LOUISBURG, NC 27549, 919-752-3921) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BOLTS ON THE MANIFOLD WERE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,017. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
REAR AXLE BEARING GOING OUT. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE 2011 MODELS
WHEN I START MY TRUCK THE LIFTERS ARE KNOCKING AND A TAPPING SOUND! AND MY TRUCK ITS BOGGING DOWN LOSING POWER. WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS IT TAKE IT LONGER TO REACH POWER THAN USUALLY. THE RPMS SEEM STUCK IT NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE. I WANT TO GET IT FIX. I DONT WANT NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN HELP OUT WITH MY SITUATION! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS HAVE BROKEN OFF RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. LEFT SIDE BROKE OFF IN 2015 AND WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. STATEMENT OF DEFECTIVE BOLTS WAS THE REASON AND WHEN ASKED TO REPLACE BOTH SIDES OF THE ENGINE WITH THE NEW BOLTS, THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY WERE GOOD BOLTS. DEALERSHIP DETECTED THE EXHAUST LEAK AND BROKEN BOLT ON 5/09/18.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TRAVELED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE SAME SPEED AND WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED ON MAY 7, 2018. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
A/C EVAPORATOR COIL WENT BAD AND RELEASED THE FREON INSIDE THE VEHICLE SINCE THIS IS IN THE DASH AREA INSIDE OF THE TRUCK CAB. THE RELEASE WAS OVER TIME AND WAS JUST REPAIRED. REPLACEMENT OF THE EVAPORATOR COIL, NEW FREON, HEATER CORE (WAS SUGGESTED TO REPLACE DUE TO THE ACCESS AND EASE TO REPLACE AN ITEM THAT WOULD GO OUT NEXT MOST LIKELY) AND THE VALVE - A/C. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THERE IS NO RECALL. TOTAL COST WAS JUST UNDER $2100.
THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED AS I WAS PULLING INTO A HOSPITAL ENTRANCE, AND AGAIN TRYING TO NAVIGATE TO A SAFE PARKING SPACE, AND AGAIN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. THE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. THIS WAS AT LOW SPEED AND I CRASHED INTO THE PARKED CAR IN FRONT OF ME.
TIPM COMPUTER ISSUES. FUEL PUMP NOT SHUTTING OFF DUR TO RELAY STICKING INSIDE THE TIPM. RANDOM ENGINE SHUTDOWN IN TRAFFIC. ABS SYSTEM INACTIVE DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES INSIDE THE TIPM. ENGINE CODES FROM OPTIONS NOT INSTALLED IN THE TRUCK FROM FACTORY. TIPM NOT RECOGNIZING KEY IN IGNITION (CANNOT START WITH KEY. ONLY BY REMOTE) BRAKE FAILURE DUE TO ABS MODULE NOT GETTING SIGNAL FROM TIPM.
GOING SLOW AROUND MTN CURVE AND LOST BRAKES AND STEERING.
CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS ARE NOT WORKING RIGHT AND DAMAGING THE CAMSHAFT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, SMOKE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO HALL CHRYSLER/JEEP(15123 NORTH RD, FENTON, MI 48430) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE CALIPER SEIZED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT, APPROXIMATELY FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE BRAKE CALIPER EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. RECENTLY, THE SAME BRAKE CALIPER FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE BROKE OFF IN THE BLOCK!!!!!
NHTSA #17V-821 THE RAM SERVICE CENTERS ARE STATING THAT DODGE HAS NOT SENT OUT THE PARTS AND COMPUTER UPDATE TO FIX THE RECALL. I CALLED DODGE AND THEY SAID AROUND AUGUST 2018 BUT THAT CAN CHANGE. THE SERVICE CENTER RECEIVED UPDATES ON THE 2018 AND 2017 MODELS BUT NOTHING ON THE LATER MODELS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS RECALL NOT BEING COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER WHICH COULD RESULT IN A DEATH IF TRUCK COMES OUT OF GEAR AND ROLLS. I HAVE BEEN CALLING EVERY MONTH SINCE RECALL ISSUED BUT STILL UNABLE TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. 2012 DODGE RAM TRADESMAN 4.7L 100K MILES. ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION. TRUCK WILL RANDOMLY BOG DOWN WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND DOESN'T WANT TO GO. WHEN THE TRUCK FINALLY CATCHES UP TO THE GAS PEDAL FULLY PRESSED AND TRUCK NOT GOING, IT TAKES OFF FAST. WHEN IT DOES ACCELERATE, POWER DOESN'T FEEL STEADY. I'M BURNING THROUGH GAS LIKE CRAZY AND ONLY GETTING AROUND 12.5 MPG. TRUCK WAS FINE FIRST YEAR I OWNED IT AND I AVERAGED 15.5 MPG. WHEN HOLDING SPEED ON HIGHWAY OR OPEN ROAD, TRUCK WILL RANDOMLY FEEL LIKE POWER DROPS OFF AND RPMS DROP ABOUT 500. I'VE HAD IT TO 2 DEALERSHIPS, SPOKE WITH CORPORATE, AND SPENT A LOT OF MONEY TO BE TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY TRUCK. I FEEL MY ONLY OPTION IS GOING TO BE SUING CHRYSLER DIRECTLY FOR BEING UNABLE TO REPAIR MY TRUCK. I'M ONE OF THE FEW OWNERS OF A RAM 1500 WITH A COMMON PROBLEM. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. IT HAS BECOME A CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH RAM OWNERS LIKE MYSELF. FIRST IT SEEMS AS IF YOUR FUEL PUMP HAD GONE OUT AND YOUR TRUCK WILL NOT START. AFTER CONTACTING MECHANICS AND PAYING AROUND $900TO REPLACE IT THE PROBLEM STILLS EXIST. THEN AFTER SONOROUS ATTEMPTS TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS IT'S THE RELAY THAT RAM DEALERS KNOW ALL ABOUT. IT COST AROUND A$1000 OR MORE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. I'VE CONTACTED THEM AND MADE THEM AWARE OF THE PROBLEM THAT MYSELF AND OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING AND THEY SAY THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO THEY WILL NOT RECALL THE PROBLEM THEY KNOW YOUR GOING TO HAVE PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE TRUCK. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY ENTIRE ELECTRICAL WIRE HARNESS CAUGHT ON FIRE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WILL ONLY COVER NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I BELIEVE THIS IS A ASSEMBLY AND MANUFACTURING ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES NOW MADE IN MEXICO BY INEXPERIENCE AND INCOMPETENT PEOPLE WORKING AT CHRYSLERS NEW MANUFACTURING PLANT FOR CHEAP FOREIGN SLAVE LABOR IN MEXICO. THE ENTIRE WIRE HARNESS FROM MY STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO MY ENGINE THROUGH THE FIRE WALL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED NOW COSTING ME WELL OVER $2200.00. WHEN MY VEHICLE WENT FOR INSPECTION THIS YEAR A HOLE AND CORROSION WAS DISCOVERED ON THE RIGHT SIDE BY THE REAR WHEEL IN THE CROSS MEMBER THAT CONNECTS THE RIGHT AND LEFT FRAME RAILS. THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING STRAP CONNECTS TO THE SAME CROSS MEMBER OF THE LEFT SIDE FRONT STRAP. I CALLED A DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO. THEY SAID CORROSION WARRENTY WAS OUT. MY WIFE CALLED DODGE TO SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST ISSUE WITH CORROSION WE HAVE HAD. THE HOOD HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEN WE HAVE HAD LEAKS IN THE CAB AND OTHER ISSUES. THE TRUCK IS ONLY A 2012 AND IS NOT USED FOR CONSTRUCTION OR ABUSED. THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER AND I TAKE CARE OF IT VERY WELL. INCLUDING HAVING IT DETAILED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS LOOKS LIKE IT IS A SPOT THAT WATER GETS IN AND LAYS THERE AND HAS NO WEEPING HOLE TO LET IT DRAIN OUT. BROUGHT IT TO A AUTO PARTS STORE FOR A QUICK CHECK. P303. ENGINE MISFIRE CYLINDER 3. INITIALLY REPLACED IGNITION COIL, THEN SPARK PLUGS, NO CHANGE IN ISSUE. EACH TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS DRIVING ABOVE 50 MPH. TAKEN IT AGAIN TO TWO AUTO PARTS STORES, AND EACH GAVE THE SAME ERROR CODE OF P303. TAKEN IT CAR REPAIR CENTER, THEY DIAGNOSED, ENGINE MISFIRE TOO, BUT ALSO SEEN IN OTHER CYLINDERS. REPLACED ALL IGNITION COILS AND ALL SPARK PLUGS, SAME ISSUE. CLEANED FUEL SYSTEM 2X BELIEVING IT WAS CARBON BUILD UP, STILL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SAME ERROR CODE. ADVISED BY SHOP TO CONTACT RAM TRUCKS, NOT THE DEALER TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE, THEY, THE SHOP, INDICATED THAT THE ISSUE THEY SEE, IS THE CAMS AND LIFTER NOT WORKING, AND IT IS A "KNOWN" ISSUE. CONTACTED RAM TRUCKS, THEY OPENED A CASE AND DIRECTED ME TO TAKE TO A DEALERSHIP TO GET IT DIAGNOSED AS THE FIRST STEP. IN TALKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, HE SAID, THE ENGINE IS MISFIRING AT "IDLE" NOT AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THEY ARE GOING TO WORK ON AN ESTIMATE FOR TWO POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS, ONE BEING THE CAMS/LIFTERS AND THE OTHER WAS SOMETHING ELSE, MY FAULT FOR NOT GETTING THAT OTHER, BUT BELIEVING IT IS THE CAM/LIFTER ISSUE. AT THIS TIME WAITING ON DETERMINATION. BUT UNSURE WHAT HELP, IF ANY, WILL BE OFFERED FOR THIS ISSUE. RESEARCH ON THIS SITE AND OTHERS INDICATE QUITE A LOT OF PROBLEM WITH "TICKING" OR CAMS/LIFTERS.
