HEADLIGHT WONT WORK, NEW WIRING HARNESS REQUIRED
I HAVE A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 THAT WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREETS OR TURNING AND SOMETIMES WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP. IT STARTED A COUPLE YEARS AGO BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I PUT MY VIN # IN AND THERE IS NO RECALL WHICH THERE SHOULD BE AFTER READING THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS THAT'S HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE THIS PROBLEM TO BE FIXED WITHOUT MYSELF HAVING TO PAY FOR THIS. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS TRUCK.
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE TO LOSE ALL POWER (POWER STEERING, ANTI LOCK BRAKES, AND SEATBELT FUNCTION) DUE TO A BAG IGNITION SWITCH. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE. I NOTICED ALL MY DASH LIGHT CAME ON AND MY VEHICLE HAD COMPLETELY POWERED OFF LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER STEERING AND NO ANTI LOCK BRAKES. LUCKILY I WAS ON STRAIGHT ENOUGH ROAD TO ONLY RUN OFF THE ROAD ONCE I SLOWED DOWN. IAFTER HITTING A DITCH I NOTICED MY SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK CAUSING ME TO SLIGHTLY BUMP MY HEAD. I WASN'T HURT BUT THIS HAS TO BE A ISSUE. IT HAS WORKED PROPERLY SINCE THEN BUT DID THE SAME THING ON A LATER DATE WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN.
I'VE HAD MY 2012 RAM 1500 FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS NOW. IT JUST STARTED MAKING A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. FROM WHEN I START TO WHEN I TURN IT OFF. I'VE DONE MAY RESEARCH AND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS THIS ISSUE. I'M A DIE HARD RAM FAN. THIS NEEDS TO GET RECALLED.
TAMARA RECALL- SO ON JUNE OF 2017 I WAS DRIVING FROM TEXAS TO COLORADO. I WAS AT THE PASSING BY TRINIDAD, CO WHEN THE TRUCK JUST GAVE OUT GOING UP THE HILL. IT LITERALLY LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HILL WHILE CARS WER DRIVING BY 70 MILES AN HOUR. M AND M TOWING TOWED IT TO TRINIDAD AND THEY INFORMED ME THE TRANSFER CASE WAS BAD AND SO WAS THE RIGHT FRONT DRIVE SHAFT. I PAID 2500 DOLLARS TO HAVE THAT REPAIRED. WELL NOW SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2012 THE TRUCK KEEPS GIVING ME PROBLEMS. IT TURNS OFF LITERALLY WHILE I'M DRIVING MAKING ME LOOSE ANY STEERING OR BREAK POWER. THE HEATING SEATS HAVE STOPPED WORKING, THE TRACTION LIGHT KEEPS TURNING OFF AND ON. THE LIGHT TRAILER DISCONNECTED MESSAGE IS PERMANENTLY ON. THE SHIFTER WON'T MOVE OUTTA PARK ALMOST EVERYDAY WHEN I FIRST START THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK TURNS ON AND IMMEDIATELY SHUTTS OFF. THE REMOTE START ONLY WORKS HALF OF THE TIME. I WAS JUST INFORMED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS CRACKED AND THAT THE RFRONT DIFFERENTIAL IS BAD TOO. AT THIS POINT THE TRUCK ISN'T EVEN DRIBBLE UNLESS I SPEND LIKE 5000 IN FIXING IT. BIT HOW IF I'M MAKING 700 PAYMENT MONTHLY. THE TRUCK IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE FALLING APART AND I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. WHAT WORRIES ME THE MOST THAT IT TURNS COMPLETELY OFF WITHOUT NOTICE OR WARNING WHILE I'M DRIVING WITH MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK
ENGINE TICKS AND LAGS/HESITATE UNDER THROTTLE RECEIVE ERROR CODE P0308, DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED A TUNE UP BUT DID NOT RESOLVE PROBLEM. STILL HESITATES UNDER THROTTLE. DID EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON-LINE AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE AND COSTLY TO CONSUMERS AND DANGEROUS. IN MY CASE, I WAS ENTERING A HIGHWAY WITH MY 2 KIDS. I WAS ON THE FRONTAGE ROAD GOING ABOUT 40 MPH AS I ENTERED THE ON RAMP OF THE FREEWAY TO GET TO THE SPEED LIMIT OF 60 MPH. WHEN I ACCELERATED THE ENGINE STARTED TO HESITATE AND ALMOST STALLED CAUSING THE VEHICLES ON THE FREEWAY TO SLAM ON HIS/HER BREAKS AND SWERVE TO GO AROUND ME. FORTUNATELY, THE CARS BEHIND ME DID NOT RAN INTO ME OR ANYONE ELSE CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT AS THIS OCCURRED DURING RUSH HOUR ON A MAJOR FREEWAY.
FRONT, RIGHT SIDE BRAKES I.E. ROTOR AND CALIPERS FAULTY AFTER ONLY 35,000 MILES. VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND BRAKE COMPONENTS BEGAN TO SMOKE ON JUNE 20, 2017 WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE IS USED FOR GENERAL DRIVING AND NEVER USED FOR PAYLOADS HEAVIER THAN 500 POUNDS NOR USED TO PULL A TRAILER.#
DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHTS, BOTH HIGH BEAM AND LOW BEAM , WILL NOT WORK. I HAVE REPLACED 3 TIMES IN 6 MONTHS, RESET THE TIPM ONCE, AND WILL HAVE TO AGAIN. THIS IS A CHRONIC ISSUE WITH RAM TIPM. (GOOGLE IT, PAGES OF RESULTS) I AM DRIVING WITHOUT A HEADLIGHT HALF THE TIME NOW, KEEPING BULBS IN MY TRUCK, BUT IT IS NOT EASY ACCESS TO CHANGE BULBS ON THE FLY ALONG THE HIGHWAY.
NIT A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES MORE THAN SEVERAL TIMES.WHILE DRIVING ON FRWY SOMETIMES THE BRAKE PEDAL HARDENS MAKING IT IMPOSIBLE TO BRAKE, GOTTA PUM A LIL ON GAS FOR THE PEDAL TO LOOSEN.ONCE IN GEAR DRIVING AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 40MILES SOMETIMES YOU CAN HEAR AS IF YOUVE CHANGED THE GEAR AND VEHICLE DE ACCELERATES OR AS IF YOU WEBT ON NEUTRAL WGILE DRIVING. WHEN SHIFTING EITHER ON REVERSE OR FWD BRAKE HARDENS AND WHILE PRESING GAS PEDAL BEHICLE DOES NOT MOVE NOWHERE, WERE FIGURED OUT MAYBE TURNING THE ENGINE ON AND OFF AFTER A COUPLE OF TIMES IT KINDA RESETS AND THEN IT SWITCHES ON GEAR TRANSMISION ALWAYS NAJES A LOUD NOISE WHEN CHANGING GEAR SUCH AS IF WAS STUCK.. WHILE DRIVING BEHICLE ALWAYS SMELLS LIKE HOT ENGINE OR PLASTIC.THE PROBLEM IS BITHE STATIONARY AND WHIKE DRIVING.
MY VEHICLE IS COVERED UNDER THE SETTLEMENT IMPOSED AGAINST FIAT CHRYSLER TO OFFER BUYBACK OPTION TO OWNER BASED ON PURCHASE PRICE MINUS REASONABLE DEPRECIATION. HOWEVER, MY DEALER, FIAT CHRYSLER, BUYBACK HOTLINES, AND EVERYONE I HAVE CONTACTED ARE PASSING THE BUCK AND NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BUYBACK PROGRAM. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR 18 MONTHS. I AM ABOUT TO GO MEET WITH A SERVICE DEPT. MANAGER THIS MORNING, AFTER RECEIVING MORE IGNORANCE AND "I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT'S" YESTERDAY. FRUSTRATING. THERE ARE STEERING ISSUES, ELECTRICAL ISSUES, AND POWER TRAIN CONCERNS., AND IF SOMEONE GETS HURT IN THE MEANTIME WHILE I AM HAVING TO NAVIGATE THIS MESS, I WILL OWN FIAT CHRYSLER, NHTSA, AND WILL TAKE OVER THE BUYBACK NUMBER AND TURN IT INTO A PIZZA DELIVERY CALL CENTER. I HAVE HAD BOTH FRONT BRAKE CALIBERS SEIZE UP WITHIN 2 MONTHS APART. MY TRUCK HAS ABOUT 34,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS OCCURED. ON BOTH OCCAIONS OF FAILURE IT LEFT ME ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY UNABLE TO MOVE IT. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE REAR BRAKE CALIPERS DOING THE SAME AND CONSIDERING CHANGING THEM ALSO.
ENGINE IS MISSING ON ACCELERATION AT HIGH SPEED OR CLIMBING A HILL - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON (ERROR CODE IS "CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE"). DEALER SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE HEAD DUE TO DAMAGED VALVE SPRINGS. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AT 112K MILES.
TAKATA INFLATORS. WHEN I START MY TRUCK THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON FOR AWHILE THEN IT GOES OFF. IT CAN COME ON AT ANYTIME , STARTING IT UP OR IN MOTION .I CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP WERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK, BUT THEY TELL ME THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS TO BE ON WHEN I BRING IT IN, OR THEY CAN'T RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. IT SEEMS EVERY TIME I GO TO THE DEALERSHIP THE LIGHT INCONVENIENTLY GOES OFF. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR ABOUT 6MO , OFF AND ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE REAR CAMERA APPEARED ON WHILE DRIVING. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE GEAR INDICATORS ILLUMINATED GREEN, BUT THE REVERSE GEAR ILLUMINATED RED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
THE BODY IS ROTTING UNDERNEATH THE BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE GAS TANK ROTTED RIGHT OUT AND GAS TANK FELL TIED UP WITH RACHET STRAP RIGHT NOW AND THE SIDE STEPS ROTTED RIGHT OUT. DON'T THINK THIS SHOULD HAPPEN WITH 2012 ITS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD CALLED DEALERSHIP THEY SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO NOT UNDER WARRANTY *BF *TR
I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN I LOSE POWER AND THE TRUCK DIES. WHEN THAT HAPPENS I LOSE CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PULL OVER TO SAFETY.THIS HAPPENS OFTEN AND AT ANYTIME NO MATTER IF I'M ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY. IT SEEMS TO HAVE AN EFFECT ON MY IGNITION AND 4-WHEEL DRIVE
I GOT INTO THE CAB OF MY TRUCK AND IT SMELLED WET. I LOOKED UP AT HEAD LINER AND SAW THAT IT WAS WATER STAINED. I LOOKED ON DODGERAMFORUM AND SAW THAT OTHERS HAD EXPERIENCED THIS. MOST SUSPECTED THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ABOVE THE REAR WINDSHIELD TO BE LEAKY. I REMOVED THE THIRD LIGHT FROM MY VEHICLE. IT WAS WET AND THE BULB BLOWN OUT. I STUCK MY HAND INTO THE SPACE BETWEEN THE OUTER AND INNER SHELLS OF THE CAB AND IT WAS WET. I TOOK THE ASSEMBLY TO LODI CDJR, WHO TOLD ME THE GASKET WAS DEFECTIVE. THEY WERE SELLING THE REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY AT $22.70 SO THAT PEOPLE COULD QUICKLY MAKE THE REPAIR. RECALL? NO. SOMEWHERE I LEARNED THAT SEVERAL YEAR MODELS WERE AFFECTED, INCLUDING MY OTHER VEHICLE, A 2014 DODGE RAM EXPRESS. SO I BOUGHT ANOTHER REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY TO INSTALL ON IT. I ASKED IF THEY WOULD COVER THE COST. HE SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME, BUT NEVER DID. A FEW WEEKS LATER, I OPENED THE GLOVE BOX OF THE 2012 TRUCK AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS RUST ON SOME OF MY PAPERS. I LOOKED UP INTO THE GLOVE BOX AND SAW RUSTED WIRES. I THINK THE WATER DRAINED FROM THE TOP OF THE CAB INTO THE FRONT OF THE FIREWALL AND SOAKED THE CIRCUITRY. CRUISE CONTROL, MY PASSENGER WINDOW, OTHER THINGS DON'T FUNCTION PROPERLY AT ALL TIMES. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT IN TO BE EVALUATED AS I FEAR THEY MIGHT JUST MAKE IT WORSE. THE NEW LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS STOPPED ANY FURTHER LEAKAGE. IT DOES NOT APPEAR THAT MY 2014 SUSTAINED WATER DAMAGE DUE TO THE FAULTY LIGHT GASKET. 2014 DODGE RAM EXPRESS VIN: (XXXXX). I WILL FILE A SEPARATE COMPLAINT ON THIS VEHICLE IF YOU DIRECT ME TO. FRONT LEFT AXLE IS SEIZED UP ON MY TRUCK. A TIRE COMPANY WAS GOING TO PUT A NEW HUB ON FOR ME AND THEY COULDN'T GET THE AXLE TO RELEASE THE HUB. ON ENGINE MY TRUCK IS TICKING FROM MANIFOLD.
HEADLIGHT FLICKERING WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON WAY HOME FROM WORK DEALER SAID WAS FAULTY TIPM MODULE
AFTER TOWING A BOAT, THE ENGINE DIED & UNDERWENT MAJOR WARRANTEED REPAIR IN 2016. ALSO IN 2016 THE FOLLOWING OCCURED: THE AC STOPPED WORKING, BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT VEHICLE HAS DIED 3 TIMES SINCE REPAIRED & NEW BATTERY. MY 2007 RAM 1500 QUAD ALSO LOST AC AFTER 5 YEARS. THE LAST TIME BATTERY DIED, SO DID THE DEALER INSTALLED ALARM SYSTEM. IT'S FINE FOR 2-3 MONTHS THEN DIES.
4X4 SERVICE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. GRINDING SOUND IN LOW GEAR 5 TO 10 MPH.
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, HIT A BUMP WHILE IN A CURVE, THE FRONT END SUDDENLY JUMPS OVER/WOBBLES. NEARLY CROSSED INTO THE NEXT LANE SEVERAL TIMES. THIS WAS ON I-20 EAST BOUND BETWEEN 285 AND 75/85. SEVERAL CURVES WITH RUTS/BUMPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM.
SEAT BELT LOCATION. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER. TO GET THEM IN THE REG CAB YOU NEED TO REACH WAY BACK AND AS YOU GET OLDER IT GETS HARDER. THIS STATIONARY BUT IS UNABLE TO DO IF MOBILE. THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES ACCELERATE A LOT EVEN JUST TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR AT TIMES YOU HAVE TO THIS CAN BE WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT.
TIPM ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE HAVE CAUSE IT TO TURN OFF SEVERAL TIMES IN TRAFFIC AND MADE IT INOPERABLE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO CHARGED ME $1200 TO FIX THE ISSUE, AND AFTER DRIVING 2 MILES UP THE ROAD THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. AS I WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WAITING ON THE TOW TRUCK TO ARRIVE I DID A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER VEHICLES AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
ON THE 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 BIGHORN, TRUCKS THE BOLTS THAT SECURE THE MANIFOLD TO THE ENGINE WILL FAIL, CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK.. KNOW AS THE HEMI TRICK. MY TRUCK SEEM TO HAVE THIS ISSUE, AND SO I STARTED A LITTLE RESEARCH PROJECT TO FIND A SOLUTION, AND IN A MATTER OF MINUETS I FOUND NUMEROUS TRUCK OWNER REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN YOU TRY TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP FOR RESOLUTION, THEY JUST PRETEND THAT ITS THE FIRST TIME THEY EVER HEAR OF IT. THEN OFFER TO FIX IT FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS... WHEN IT A KNOW DEFECT IN THE ENGINE.
RECALL TIPM ? FUEL PUMP AND TIPM WITH A COST OF $1,700 TO REPAIR AT DODGE DEALERSHIP. MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL?
TRUCK SHUTTING OFF AT RANDOM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD NEEDING TO RESTART ENGINE. YOU HIT A BUMP AND TRUCK SHUTS OFF VERY DANGEROUS LIFE TREATING. MANIFOLD BOLTS HAVE SNAPPED OFF INTO ENGINE. TRUCK SHIFTS TO 4TH GEAR AT RANDOM CAUSING A JERR AND SKID OF BACK TIRES COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL WHICH COULD LEAD TO DEATH OR INJURY
TURNED THE KEY AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON, INTERIOR LIGHTS KEPT BLINKED OFF AND ON AND THERE WAS CLICKING NOISES COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX/TIPM MODULE UNTIL IT KILLED THE BATTERY. THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF IGNITION EASILY. I RECHARGED THE BATTERY, PERFORMED A TIPM RESET AND HAS THE SAME RESULTS INDICATING THE TIPM FAILURE AS THE CAUSE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE ENGINE FAILED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
INFAMOUS HEMI TICKING; ON COLD START THERE'S A PRONOUNCED TICKING THAT GOES AWAY AFTER ABOUT 15 MIN OF RUNNING. FOUND EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT HAD SHEERED; HAD IT REPLACED WITH NEW BOLTS AND GASKET BUT THE TICKING IS STILL THERE. MECHANICS SAY THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE HOWEVER THE TICKING IS RIDICULOUSLY ANNOYING. READ THAT IT MAY BE EXHAUST LEAK HOWEVER, NOTHING CAN BE FOUND THAT NEEDS REPAIR. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR NOW.
CLICKING SOUND UNDER RIGHT SIDE OF ENGINE. ONLY DOES IT WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD..AFTER AROUND 30 SECONDS ITS GONE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUSH THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE PLACE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE OR A RELAY ON THE ACTUAL TIPM MAY HAVE FAILED. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE EXACT ISSUE, BUT DETERMINED THAT THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. IT WAS IN PARK AND ROLLED BACKWARDS.
MY VEHICLE STARTED ACTING UP A FEW TIMES WHEN I WOULD GO TO START THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER AND THEN STALL OUT. I THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE, BUT CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN ICE AND SNOW PACKED ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC MY VEHICLE STALLED OUT; LOST ALL POWER STEERING, BRAKES LOCKED UP, LIGHTS SHUT OFF, AND I ALMOST ENDED UP REAR-ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME GOING 45 MPH. I PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN. SINCE THEN I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE WIN MODULE NEEDED REPLACED ALONG WITH THE KEY FOB ($725) THAT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I CALLED CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND NEEDS A RECALL! IT HAS DONE IT SEVERAL MORE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO IT BEING MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORT. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. I'VE HAD THE TRUCK LESS THAN A YEAR.
TRUCK HAS 84K MILES AND SUDDENLY HAS P0303 CODE FOR MISFIRE. IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO MECHANIC. SO FAR VALVE AND LIFTER HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXHISTS. MOST LIKELY A WORN DOWN CAM LOBE FROM THE BAD LIFTER, SO NOW IM WITHOUT A VEHICLEFOR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS THAT I STILL OWE 20K ON. I CANT BELIEVE THE PARTS QUALITY AND ENGINEERING ARE SO POOR THAT THIS TRUCK DOESNT EVEN HAVE 90K ON IT. TO TOP IT OFF, THE MANUFACTURER HAS STATED THERE ARE THOUSANDS ON BACK ORDER WHICH TELLS ME THIS IS A VERY VERY COMMON PROBLEM. I HAVE COME ACROSS MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS STATING THEY HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH SUCH LOW MILES AND IRONICALLY OUR TRUCK IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY.
THE FIX FOR THIS DANGEROUS RECALL IS TAKING WAY TO LONG TO COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THIS TYPE OF A DANGEROUS PROBLEM. MANY MORE INJURIES WILL HAPPEN AND POSSIBLY MORE LIVES WILL BE LOST OR PEOPLE MAIMED.I URGE YOU TO PUSH THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURE COME UP WITH A FIX OR REPLACE THESE DANGEROUS VEHICLES. MY DODGE RAM 1500 2012 HAS, PER THE DEALER, A FAULTY TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). I AM EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY DOOR LOCKS, BRAKE LIGHTS, AND REMOTE START. THE PROBLEMS OCCUR AT ALL TIMES OF VEHICLE OPERATION. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM THAT COSTS CONSUMERS >$1000 TO REPAIR, AND NOT BEEN RECALLED.

"TAKATA RECALL" WHILE DRIVING MY DODGE RAM 2012 HOME FROM THE GYM, MY TRUCK JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH HEADLIGHT SWITCH IN AUTO POSITION, WEATHER WAS COLD, HAD FOR LIGHTS ALSO ENABLED, HEATER WAS IN DEFROST POSITION WITH FAN ON HIGH SPEED, HEADLIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OUT WITHOUT WARNING AND THE STREET HAD NO STREET LIGHTS, ALMOST HIT A MAILBOX AND WENT OFF THE WINDING ROAD BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP, THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 MORE TIMES SINCE FIRST OCCURRENCE ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THE WIN MOD HAS AN OPEN CIRCUIT ON IT. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AND IF IT IS STARTED STALLS OUT. I CAN BE AT A STOP OR IN MOTION AND LOOSE ALL POWER TO VEHICLE. YESTERDAY DAY 11/12/16 WHILE IN MOTION GOING 70 ON THE FREEWAY I LOST ALL POWER. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THESE UP TO 2010. THROTTLE WAS NOT RESPONDING TWO TIMES. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING IN PARK, SHIFTED INTO GEAR TO PROCEED FORWARD PULLED FORWARD A FEW FEET, STOPPED AND TRIED TO GO ON FORWARD BUT NO RESPONSE. I TOLD THE DEALER BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING SHOWING ON THE COMPUTER! GLAD IT WAS NOT A BUSY INTERSECTION OR THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A WRECK. I WONDER IF THAT WOULD SHOW UP ON THE COMPUTER? I WAS JUST PULLING OUT OF THE CAR WASH, THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO CARS COMING AS I HAD TO TURN OF THE ENGINE AND RESTART IT FOR THE THROTTLE TO RECONNECT!!!
2012 DODGE RAM 1500 WAS IN AN ACCIDENT SUSTAINING MODERATE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. SPEED LIMIT AT THE TIME OF IMPACT IS ESTIMATED TO BE OVER 10 MPH AND THE AIRBAGS DIDNT DEPLOY NOR ARE THERE ANY WARNINGS LIGHTS. ONE DEALER HAD BEEN UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES. A SECOND DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF A DEALER MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
