DASHBOARD FROM TIME TO TIME WILL GO COMPLETELY OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS AND REBOOT WHILE DRIVING. DURING THIS TIME NO DASHBOARD INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE. IT IS HARD TO REPRODUCE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY.
DEFROST DOES NOT WORK, IT IS CURRENTLY BLOWING COLD AIR. THIS MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE ON COLD MORNINGS. I'VE ALMOST BEEN HIT TWICE PULLING OUT OF MY ROAD. I'VE TAKEN IT TO 2 SHOPS BOTH GAVE ME 2 DIFFERENT EXPENSIVE ANSWERS BUT BOTH SAY IT'S A COMMON ISSUE. I'VE LOOKED ONLINE AND IT IS IN FACT A COMMON ISSUE, AND NO ONE HAS A DEFINITE FIX. SO I CAN SPEND $1500 TO 'MAYBE FIX THE ISSUE, OR SPEND $2300 AND REPLACE THE WHOLE SYSTEM.
AIR SUSPENSION GO OFF NO WAY TO CONTROL THAT CAR I CAN HAVE BIG ACCIDENT I HAVE 2 BABY IN THAT CAR WITH ME ALL THAT TIME
VEHICLE WAS IN PARK RUNNING FOR ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ROTARY SHIFTER SHIFTED INTO GEAR (NO ONE IN VEHICLE), ACCELERATED AND WENT FORWARD CRASHING INTO THE HOUSE.
DOOR LOCKS WON'T CLOSE WITH KEY FOB OR INSIDE SWITCH. LOCKS STAY OPEN WHILE DRIVING. DOOR LOOKS ONLY LOCK MANUALLY. STATIONARY AND WHILE MOVING.
CHECK ENGINE CODE PO850 . DEALER STATES MECHATRONICS VALVE BODY NEEDS REPLACEMENT $2,800. CONTACTED SEVERAL DEALERS AND PROFESSIONALS AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I BACKED INTO THE STREET AND ATTEMPTED TO ROLL THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO ALIGN MYSELF IN THE DIRECTION OF DESIRED TRAVEL, THE STEERING SUDDENLY BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN AND A RED FLASHING LIGHT (BRIGHT RED STEERING WHEEL FOLLOWED BY AN EXCLAMATION MARK) APPEARED ON MY DASH. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED BACK INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE IN ANY DIRECTION. THE TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 30K MILES ON IT. MY ONLINE RESEARCH SHOWS THAT AT LEAST 44 OTHER 2013 RAM1500 TRUCKS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A LATENT SAFETY ISSUE AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE ALREADY ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. WILL IT TAKE A PERSON, OR PERSONS, BEING KILLED AS A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE IT IS ADDRESSED? ADDITIONALLY, THE REPAIR COSTS FOR THIS ISSUE HAVE VARIED FROM $1800-$2700 TO CONSUMERS OWNING THESE TRUCKS. CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. NOR SHOULD THESE COMPONENTS BE GOING "BAD" ON A VEHICLE WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE.
The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving in a parking lot, the electronic steering became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the electronic steering module, part # 68419897AB, needed to be replaced which was identified under Equipment Safety Recall VB9 -- Electric Power Steering Gear. The vehicle was repaired at contact’s expense. The manufacturer was notified of the and requested a refund, however no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 22,721.
ERROR SHOWED UP IN THE TRUCK. "SERVICE ABS SYSTEM" AND "SERVICE TOWING BRAKE". LOOKED INTO THIS AND IT SEEMS TO BE A REALLY COMMON ISSUE. THE ERROR OCCURED BY SIMPLY DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND NOT TOWING OR HAULING ANYTHING. ALSO, ONE ERROR FOR "4X4 TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE".
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FLICKERS AND CAUSES DRIVER TO BE DISTRACTED POSING A RISK FOR ACCIDENT AND/OR INJURY. THIS STARTED OUT AS A SPORADIC ISSUE, BUT NOW SEEMS TO BE A CONSTANT SITUATION. WHEN I GET INTO MY VEHICLE, EVEN BEFORE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FLICKERS. IT USED TO RESOLVE ITSELF RATHER QUICKLY ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON, BUT NOW IT IS NOT UNCOMMON TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL MILES BEFORE THE ISSUE STOPS. THERE ARE A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF THREADS ONLINE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND APPEARS THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OR DESIGN OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THAT SHOULD WARRANT A RECALL. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE ISSUE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY CAN'T UPLOAD THE VIDEO TO THIS SITE.
REAR-MOST PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT BROKE; IT SHEARED OFF AT THE HEAT SHIELD, CAUSING A LOUD TICK-LIKE NOISE EMITTING FROM AREA. ADDITIONALLY, EXHAUST FUMES ENTER INTO THE CABIN AS A RESULT OF THIS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT HAS BROKEN (SHEARED OFF) ON MY TRUCK; THE FIRST TIME IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY; NOW, THE REPAIR PRICE QUOTE IS APPROX $800 BECAUSE OF THE EXPECTED TIME TO REMOVE THE BROKEN BOLT. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AMONG RAM 5.7L V8-POWERED TRUCKS. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CABIN, AND A QUALITY DEFECT ARISING FROM POOR QUALITY COMPONENTS AND/OR IMPROPER TORQUING OF THE BOLTS DURING ASSEMBLY. FCA NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS! THE OLD SAYING, "IF YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR VEHICLE, IT WILL LAST" IS NOT TRUE FOR RAM TRUCKS BECAUSE OF POOR QUALITY CONTROL, SUBPAR PART QUALITY AND IMPROPER ASSEMBLY.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
TRUCK HAS 66K MILES AND OIL CHANGES DONE REGULARLY. VALVE SEAT DROPPED INTO CYLINDER CAUSING PISTON TO SEIZE. NEW ENGINE NEEDED AS A RESULT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO BOLTS IN THE MANIFOLD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,666. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT & CHIME CONTINUALLY ACTIVATING. HAS BEEN TO CHRYSLER DEALER APPROXIMATELY 7 TIMES FOR SAME ISSUE ONLY TO RE-OCCUR SHORTLY AFTER BEING SERVICED. FILED COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT THEY HAVE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE.
I TRIED THIS ONCE AND LOST IT DOWNLOADING A PICTURE. I HAD A PROBLEM PUTTING GAS IN MY TRUCK. IT KEPT MAKING THE GAS PUMP POP. EVENTUALLY IT TOOK 30-40 MIN TO GET GAS IN IT. I STARTED USING A 5 GALLON GAS CAN TO GET GAS IN IT. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND IT COST OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX. ALSO I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY TAILGATE OPENING WHILE I WAS DRIVING, ONE OF THE TIMES A TRAILER WAS ATTACHED AND IT OPENED AN HIT THE HITCH AND DENTED IT MAKING IT HARD TO OPEN IT. ONE DAY I STOPPED AT A BUSINESS ON JOPPA RD IN PERRY HALL TO PICK UP 2 LAWNMOWERS AND WHEN I PULLED OUT ON JOPPA ROAD AND THE TAILGATE POPPED OPEN AGAIN AND THE MOWERS FELL OUT AND STARTED GRILLING DOWN THE ROAD AND LUCKILY THE OWNER OF THE BUSINESS SAW IT HAPPEN AND HELPED ME CATCH THEM BEFORE THEY CAUSED AND ACCIDENT. I'M NOT GOING TO TRY TO DOWNLOAD A PICTURE BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LOSE THIS AGAIN. I NEVER GOT RECALLS ON THESE THINGS UNTIL AFTER THESE THINGS HAPPENED
THE PASSENGER FRONT HEADLIGHT KEEPS BURNING OUT ITS HAPPENED 3 TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE DASH SCREEN KEEPS SAYING SERVICES TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS . THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT.
CHILD DOOR LOOKS AND AUTO DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING. EITHER BY IN INTERIOR SWITCHES OR KEY FOB. SOME OR ALL DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WITHOUT MANUALLY PRESSING DOWN THE MANUAL DOOR LOCKS. COMMON PROBLEM FOUND WHEN SEARCHED ON RAM FORUMS DEALER REPLACED BODY CONTROL MODULE AND NEW KEY FOBS.
CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 65 WHICH WAS LEGAL SPEED FOR THE ROAD, ATTEMPTED TO DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL APPLIED BRAKES MULTIPLE TIMES AND TRUCK WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN AND BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE RESULTING IN COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS THAT WERE CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK
MY 2013 DODGE RAM 1500 TRADESMAN HAS 47338 MILES ON IT AND IT WENT INTO WHAT THEY REFER TO AS LIMP MODE WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH THE SHOP SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ON IT WHY. I AM NOW 7 MONTHS OUT OF FACTORY WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THE LOW MILES THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS PROBLEM THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THIS IT'S NOT SAFE DRIVING AT 65 OR SO AND HAVE IT KICK DOWN TO 4TH GEAR MECHANIC CAN'T BELIEVE I HAD THIS HAPPEN WITH SO FEW OF MILES.
THE SPARE TIRE MOUNT WORE OUT AT 91K MILES. MOPAR REFUSES TO REPAIR THE ITEM DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY ACKNOWLEDGE IT IS BOTH A SAFETY HAZARD AND A NON-WEARABLE ITEM.
COMPLAINT INVOLVING POWER STEERING: ON JUNE 16TH WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO HEAD HOME FROM A RESTAURANT THE CAR GAVE ME A POWER STEERING ERROR AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULDN'T MOVE. I HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND START IT BACK UP FOR IT TO GO AWAY. I MADE IT HOME THAT NIGHT BUT THE NEXT MORNING WHEN I WAS LEAVING TO WORK IN THE MORNING IT GAVE ME THE SAME ERROR AND I WASN'T ABLE TO GET THE CODE TO GO AWAY NOR DRIVE THE CAR. SINCE I COULDN'T TAKE THE CHANCE OF IT HAPPENING WHILE I'M OUT OF TOWN WORKING. I HAVEN'T BEEN USING THE TRUCK. THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO MY FRIENDS 2014 RAM AND HIS CHARGER. THE SAME WEEK IT HAPPENED TO MY TRUCK.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY MOTOR SUDDENLY BEGAN MAKING A LOUD TICKING SOUND, FOLLOWED BY A CHANGE IN PERFORMANCE, FORCING ME TO QUICKLY CHANGE LANES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND GET INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE AND STOP.

ON 05/28/2019 RECALL'S (T61, T79, U53) WHERE ALL PERFORMED ON MY 2013 DODGE RAM 1500 PICKUP TRUCK BY THE WHITTEN BROTHERS DEALERSHIP LOCATED AT: 10701 MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE, RICHMOND, VA 23235 PHONE# (804) 378-0707. BEFORE PICKING UP MY VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP CALLED TO NOTIFY ME OF A GLITCH WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYING IN THE ON POSITION AND THE SECOND ISSUE HAD THE SERVICE AIRBAG COMING ON RANDOMLY. THEY SAID IT COULD BE FIXED BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. I DIDN'T AGREE TO THIS DUE TO NONE OF THESE ISSUES WERE OCCURRING PRIOR TO MY VISIT. ALSO, NOTIFIED THEM I HAD WORKED PREVIOUSLY FOR NHTSA AND KNEW THE RECALLS PERFORMED SHOULD HAVE CLEARED OUT ALL THE WARNINGS AND IF NOT THEY NEEDED TO GO BACK AND FIX THEM. SADLY THEY DID NOT FIX THEM. I WAS GIVEN THE RUNAROUND WITH RANDOM EXCUSES FOR REASON IT MIGHT BE AND THE TOPIC OF "MONEY" KEPT BEING BROUGHT UP. THE DEALERSHIP FORGED THEIR WORDS ON THE INVOICE IMPLYING THE LIGHTS WERE ON PRIOR TO SERVICE. I EXPLAINED THAT I WOULD BE FILING A REPORT ON THEY'RE LOCATION FOR THE CONCERN THAT THESE RECALL'S (T61, T79, U53) WERE NOT PERFORMED CORRECTLY AND FOR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR THAT WAS CONDUCTED. I WENT TO PASS A VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAY AND MY ACCELERATOR STUCK TO THE FLOOR AND CAUSED ME TO GO IN DITCH HAD TO SHUT TRUCK OFF UNTIL ACCELERATOR FINALLY RELEASED
THIS VEHICLE HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE TO THE STEERING RACK IN MAY OF 2019. THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 8400 MILES AND HAD BEEN IN LIKE NEW CONDITION. THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED, WHICH LOCKED UP MAKING IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO HANDLE. IF EXITING A HIGHWAY AT NORMAL SPEED THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR CRASH. RECALLS HAVE BEEN DONE ON LATER MODELS BUT NOT THE 2013, WHICH WAS THE FIRST YEAR OF INSTALL. THE REPAIR BILL WAS IN EXCESS OF $2400.00. RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED WITH THIS MILEAGE IN FACTORY LIKE NEW CONDITION. BESIDES THE DANGER INVOLVED THE REPAIR FOR SAME IS ABSURD AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT THE EXPENSE OF DODGE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS BLOGS ABOUT THE FAILURE OF THIS PART AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.

THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
THE TAILGATE UNLOCKS AND DROPS WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING. HAS DONE THIS 5 TIMES IN 4 MONTHS.
PURCHASE MY RAM 1500 WITH THE 5.7 IN LATE 2014. I HAVE PUT APPROX 78K MILES ON MY TRUCK AND NOTICES A CLICKING /KNOCKING NOISE AND LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER HAVE MY MECHANIC LOOK IT OVER, THE MOTOR IS HAVING CAM AND LIFTER PROBLEMS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE ONLINE . IN FACT, I NOW NOTICED SEVERAL OTHER RAM TRUCKS DRIVING BY ME IN PARKING LOTS, OR AT STOP LIGHTS THAT HAVE A FAINT VERSION OF WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING. I STARTED NOTICING THIS I LITTLE UPON STARTUP ONLY AND THEN IT BECAME SO BAD OUT OF THE BLUE THAT MY TRUCK STARTED RUNNING BAD AS IT GOT LOUD ENOUGH TO HEAR FROM IN THE CAB. NOW ITS SEES I WILL BE OUT A BUNCH OF MONEY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FEDERICO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (618-254-1000, LOCATED AT 1875 E EDWARDSVILLE RD, WOOD RIVER, IL 62095) WHERE THE SHIFT SOLENOID WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,995.
THE ENGINE HAS A TICKING NOISE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. IT STARTS OFF VERY LOUD, THEN SMOOTHED OUT WHILE IDLING. IF DRIVING AND ACCELERATING THE TICKING IS LOUD ENOUGH TO HEAR IT INSIDE THE TRUCK. IT IS GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER. I HAVE SERVICE DONE REGULARLY BUT CANNOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. HAS THIS HAPPENED WITH OTHER SIMILAR TRUCKS? THE TRUCK IS IN PERFECT CONDITION MINUS THIS TICK? ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR THE RECALL ON THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE, THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON ALL THE TIME. IT WAS TOOKEN CARE OF ON 07/16/ 2018, AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF. 9 MONTHS L;ATER IT CAME BACK ON.I TOOK MY TRUCK BACK IN ON 04/29/2019. I NOTICE THAT THE LIKE WAS OFF AND HE DIDN'T STATE IN THE REPORT. I CAME BY AND ASKED HIM TO PUT IT IN THE REPORT THAT THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON, HE DID AND HE ALSO STATED THAT THE LIGHT WILL COME BACK ON, BUT HE WOULD NOT SAY WHY THE LIGHT IS OFF NOW. I BELIEVE THESE ARE DISHONEST WOULD PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INFO AS TO WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THIS LIGHT COMES BACK ON.
FUEL NOZZLE GETTING STUCK AT THE FUEL FILLER.SOMETIMES IT TAKES 5 TO 10 MINUTES TO REMOVED THE NOZZLE FROM THE FUEL FILLER TUBE.
AIR SUSPENSION GO OFF ALL THAT TIME WHEN I'M GOIN FAS LIKE 70 THEN DON'T WNNT TRUN ON ANYTHING AND I HAVE MY FAMILY AND KIDS I DON'T LIKE THAT FEELING
AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THIS MORNING I HAD MY CRUSE CONTROL SET AT 65MPH. I REACHED THE NORMAL POINT IN WHICH I TURN THE CRUSE CONTROL OFF EVERY MORNING DUE TO AN APPROACHING INTERSECTION AND THE CRUSE CONTROL BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT FUNCTION. I HIT THE BRAKE PEDDLE AND THE CRUSE STILL WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE TURN LANE AND PROCEED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, WHICH WAS LUCKILY GREEN, AND SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUT IF OFF. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE BACK UP THE CRUSE CONTROL BUTTONS WILL NOT FUNCTION. I TRIED AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON AND THEY ARE WORKING JUST FINE. EVER SINCE THE WIRE HARNESS WAS REPLACED A FEW YEARS AGO THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE VOLUME CONTROLS FOR THE RADIO BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD ANY ISSUE WITH THE CRUSE CONTROL. WHAT IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION WITH A RED LIGHT?
ENGINE CHECK, TRACTION CONTROL, ANTI-SKID LIGHTS COMES ON WITH A MESSAGE THROTTLE CONTROL REQUIRES SERVICE. THE ENGINE LOSSES ALL POWER OR STALLS MAKING VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL, STOP AND GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE REPLACED THE THROTTLE CONTROL WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON , IT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE TRUCK SITS FOR A DAY OR TWO ALL PROBLEMS CLEAR. 4-23-2019 IS MY THIRD INCIDENT IN 4 MONTHS.
TICKING NOISE FROM ENGINE AT START UP
OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON TO INDICATE THAT MY TRUCK WAS LOW ON OIL NOW MY ENGINE IS BLOWN AND I CAN'T DRIVE MY TRUCK ANYMORE AND I STILL OWE $20,000 ON IT. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK WHEN IT HAPPENED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS INTERMITTENT NON RESPONSE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED RESULTING IN THE OPPOSITE EFFECT ON A BUSY ROAD. ONCE WHILE ENTERING A HIGHWAY ON RAMP THE VEHICLE STALLED COMPLETELY, AFTER RESTARTING THERE WAS INTERMITTENT NON RESPONSE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO A CORRODED FUEL PUMP RELAY LOCATED IN THE TIPM UNIT UNDER THE HOOD OF MANY MODEL YEAR DODGE RAMS. THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF RECALLS ISSUED FOR OTHER DODGE PRODUCTS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT DODGE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE LEAVING THE BURDEN OF REPAIR TO THE CONSUMER.
THE LIFTERS SEATS ARE MADE OF PLASTIC AND THEY'RE KNOWN BY CHRYSLER TO FAIL RESULTING IN INTERNAL ENGINE DAMAGE. THERE ARE OVER 1000 CONCERNS POSTED ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH THE 5.7L HEMI AND THE PARTS HAVE BEEN ON BACK ORDER FOR OVER 1 YEAR PERIOD. DEALERSHIP TO CORRECT THE ISSUE ARE ASKING CUSTOMERS TO PAY 7 - 10K DOLLARS FOR A KNOWN DESIGN FLAW

I HAD A CHECK ENGINE FAULT AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAM AND LIFTERS HAVE FAILED ON MY RAM 1500 5.7 HEMI WITH 62141 MILES ON IT. I USE THIS VEHICLE FOR HIGHWAY TRAVEL AT 65 TO 75 MPH WITH NO SEVERE DRIVING AND HAVE THE OIL/FILTER CHANGED AT THE DEALERSHIP BETWEEN 3,000 AND 4,000 MILES. DEALERSHIP HAD TROUBLE FINDING THE PROBLEM AND IT IS OUT OF WARANTY SO WILL BE STUCK WITH A $4,000 BILL TO REPLACE CAM/LIFTERS AND STILL HAVE A MOTOR WITH POTENTIAL PROBLEMS AS WHATEVER METAL WAS WORN OFF IS CIRCULTATING THROUGH THE SYSTEM. KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM MANUFACTURER.
LOSS OF POWER AND HESITATION ACCOMPANIED BY THE ENGINE LIGHT LED ME TO BRINGING MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALER. AT FIRST I ASSUMED IT WAS ANOTHER SENSOR BUT AFTER 3 DAYS OF INVESTIGATING THE REAL PROBLEM WAS FOUND TO BE THE LIFTERS AND CAM SHAFT. MUCH LIKE MANY MANY OF COMPLAINTS I'VE SEEN ON THIS AND OTHER FORUMS. AND MUCH LIKE THEM I HAD TO WAIT FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED, WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY AND COST ME OVER $4K WITH NO PROMISE THAT IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. TODAY WAS THE THIRD TIME WE TOOK OUR DODGE RAM 1500 TO THE DODGE DEALER. THE FIRST TIME THEY WASHED IT AND REMOVED SNOW WHICH IMPROVED THE SERVICE. THE SECOND TIME AT BOZEMAN DEALER THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I HAVE TALKED TO PEOPLE IN UPSTATE MICHIGAN THAT HAVE RAMS AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAG. THIS AIRBAG SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK IT TO BOZEMAN THEY CHARGED ME 270 DOLLARS TO FILL THE AIRBAGS WITH NITROGEN AND ON THE WAY HOME THE IMMEDIATE SERVICE REQUIRED FOR SUSPENSION SERVICE REQUIRED. WE TRIED TO SLOW DOWN AND RAISE AIRBAGS AND IT WOULD NOT WORK. WE CANNOT LOWER OR MAKE OUR VEHICLE RISE. THE VEHICLE SITS OVERNIGHT AND WE COME OUT AND THE BAGS ARE DEFLATED. THE TRUCK RIDES VERY ROUGH. WE HAD TO DRIVE TO BOZEMAN IN THIS MODE. WE ARE GETTING FRUSTRATED AND WHEN THEY TELL US THE AIRBAGS JUST DO THIS IN COLD CLIMATES I DISAGREE.
AIR BAG SISTEM / SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY AIR BAG MIGHT NOT DEPLOY IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT
TAIL GATE DOES NOT LOCK PROPERLY. IT WILL OPEN, DROP AND FALL BY ITSELF AFTER TAKEOFF. THIS MAY CAUSE CARGO TO FALL OUT OF VEHCILE WHILE IN MOTION. REPEATED MANUAL AND REMOTE LOCKING TAKES SEVERAL TRIES O GET IT TO LOCK, BUT IT IS NOT A GUARANTEE IT WILL STAY LOCKED. IT HAS A LOCKING MECHANISM FAILURE. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN AFTER TAILGATE IS OPENED AND USED.
