TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND HAD IT TOWED TO CHAMPION OF DECATUR, INC. (3831 US-31, DECATUR, AL 35603, (256) 351-8787) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
THE SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM WARNING KEEPS RANDOMLY BEEPING AND FLASHING ON DASHBOARD.
FIRST EXPERIENCED MALFUNCTION OF THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK NOT CYCLING WITH THE OTHER LOCKS. I HAD TO MANUALLY OPERATE THE LOCK BY REACHING AROUND FROM THE FRONT DOOR. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT A MONTH, THEN THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE IN RAM FORUMS, THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AND ISSUES. OTHER PEOPLE HAD WENT THROUGH THE PAINSTAKING PROCESS OF PAYING THE DEALER TO TROUBLE SHOOT AND REPLACE VARIOUS OTHER PARTS UNTIL THE ISSUE WAS TRACED TO THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM, PART NUMBER 68200252AF FOR MY MODEL). WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY EXPLAINED THAT PART WAS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO ETA. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, HAPPENS WHETHER USING THE KEY FOB, OR DOOR HANDLE CONTROLS, OR INSIDE CONSOLE BUTTONS.
THE HEATER CORE WAS LEAKING. DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER THE HEATER CORE STARTED LEAKING AND MY WINDOWS INSTANTLY FOGGED OVER NOT ALLOWING ME TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD OR SIDE WINDOWS. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO CLEAR MY WINDOWS. AFTER THAT I NOTICED THAT I HAD LITTLE TO NO HEAT IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED TO SMELL THE ANTIFREEZE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK. CALLED DEALER THEY QUOTED $1200-1500 FOR REPAIR. I ASKED IF THEY HAD ISSUES WITH THAT HAPPENING AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD GET 2-3 TRUCKS EVERY WINTER. I HAD THE REPAIR DONE BY A INDEPENDENT SHOP WHICH WAS CHEAPER. ALSO HAVE A CO WORK WITH SAME TRUCK YEAR AND A WEEK AFTER MINE WENT SO DID HIS.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM MCCALL, ID ON FEB 4TH IN HEAVY SNOWY/ WINTER CONDITIONS IN MY 2013 RAM 1500 WHEN MY ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT GOING AROUND A CORNER. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO MANAGE THE STEERING AVOIDING A GUARD RAIL AND GOING INTO A RIVER. I WAS TOWING A 1967 VOLKSWAGEN BUG BEHIND ME AS WELL. THE DASH LITE UP AND WAS SHOWING A SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED MY TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED IT. AFTER RESTARTING IT THE LIGHT WHEN AWAY AND MY POWER STEERING CAME BACK. FAST FORWARD ONE WEEK, FEB 11TH. I HAD JUST GOTTEN TO HAILEY, ID. APPROXIMATELY 2.5 HRS FROM MERIDIAN, ID WHERE I LIVE. ONCE AGAIN SNOWY CONDITIONS. THE POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN, THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT COME BACK. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME THE NEXT 2.5 HRS WITH ZERO POWER STEERING. MY 2013 RAM 1500 HAS 32,100 MILES ON IT. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND IT SHOWS THAT I NEED A NEW STEERING RACK, THAT RETAILS AT $1,800 AND IS CURRENTLY ON BACK ORDER. TO ME THIS HINTS A PROBLEM WITH THE PART. THERE IS MULTIPLE PEOPLE ONLINE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THERE 2013. IT WOULD BE NICE IF DODGE WOULD STAND BEHIND THIS FAILING PART BEFORE IT CLAIMS SOMEONES LIFE.
AS OF YET, THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT HAPPEN. HOWEVER, I JUST FINISHED A 15 MILE DRIVE AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT AND THE MESSAGE "SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM" HAS COME ON AND OFF 6 TIMES AT RANDOM. IN DOING MY OWN RESEARCH, IF THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE WHEEL WHICH CONNECTS THE AIRBAG LOSES CONNECTION IT WILL CAUSE THAT FAULT POSSIBLY LEADING TO AN AIRBAG FAILURE TO DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENED BOTH WHILE MOVING AND ALSO WHILE STATIONARY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY ON A STEEP HILL, THE CONTACT HEARD A POP NOISE. THE VEHICLE SHIFTED, ROLLED BACKWARDS, AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE BED OF THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V821000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V460000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS), THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARTY CANCILA DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 2175 N HWY 67, FLORISSANT, MO 63033, (314) 831-3300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRE HARNESS FOR THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,740.
TURNED THE IGNITION ON AND THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING " LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. THE TRUCK HAS 49985 MILES AND NOW I BELIEVE I MUST PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I WAS GOING TO BUY ANOTHER DODGE BUT THIS HAS CHANGED MY MIND MY NEXT TRUCK WILL BE A CHEVY 2500 FOR SURE.
THE FOB KEY WILL NOT GO TO THE OFF POSITION. THE FARTHEST LEFT IT GOES IS TO ACCESORY.THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION I CAN STILL START IT AND DRIVE IT BUT HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AT NIGHT SO AS TO NOT DRAIN THE BATTERY.
I TOOK MY TRUCK IN TO GET LOOKED AT JANUARY 2019 THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE MANIFOLD OR LIFTERS SO THEY REPLACED THE MANIFOLD AND THAT WAS NOT IT FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS THE LIFTERS THEY TRIED ORDERING LIFTERS FOR MY TRUCK AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE ON BACK ORDER SO I HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR WITH A USED MOTOR I TALKED WITH SOMEBODY A DODGE AND THEY WERE NOT EVEN WILLING TO HELP ME OUT SO I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE WHOLE THING NOT A VERY HAPPY DODGE CUSTOMER BUT OBVIOUSLY WITH LIFTERS BEING ON A BACK ORDER TELLS ME THAT MY TRUCK IS NOT THE ONLY ONE I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SWOPE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 1012 N DIXIE HWY, ELIZABETHTOWN, KY 42701, (270) 765-2181) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULE IN THE RACK AND PINION MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR A SUPERVISOR TO CALL HIM BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
ANYTIME THE WEATHER IS COLD I GET A "SERVICE AIR SUSPENSION IMMEDIATELY" MESSAGE. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR IT AND THEY NEVER "FIND" A PROBLEM. TWO DAYS AGO I GOT A MESSAGE STATING THAT THE AIR SUSPENSION COULD NOT BE USED BECAUSE MY PAYLOAD WAS TOO HEAVY. THE PROBLEM IS, THERE WAS NOTHING IN MY TRUCK EXCEPT ME SO THERE WASN'T A HEAVY PAYLOAD. THIS MORNING MY TRUCKS FRONT END WAS RESTING ON THE EMERGENCY BUMP STOPS AND THE AIR SUSPENSION WAS NOT FUNCTIONING AT ALL. I AM OUT OF WARRANTY AND NEITHER MY DEALERSHIP NOR FCA WILL COVER THE REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH IS A KNOWN ISSUE SINCE YOU CAN FIND MANY REPORTS OF ISSUES LIKE THI.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKEN ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF 2013 5.7 LITER HEMI MOTOR. TWO DIFFERENT METALS ARE USED EXPANDING AT DIFFERENT RATES CAUSING MANIFOLD TO WARP AND SNAP BOLTS. IF GOOGLED YOU WILL SEE HOW COMMON. I BELIEVE THIS CAN RESULT IN EXHAUST ENTERING THE CAB.
I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY BEHIND 2 PARKED CARS. I STOPPED AND PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE TRUCK REVVED UP AND WENT FORWARD, I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE TRUCK, BUT THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE TRUCK FROM RUNNING INTO THE 2 CARS. AS I KEPT PRESSING THE BRAKE THE TRUCK'S ENGINE WAS REVVING AND THE TIRES WERE BURNING RUBBER, I KEPT PRESSING THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP IT WAS OUT OF CONTROL. THE TRUCK RAMMED INTO BOTH CARS PUSHING ONE OF THEM INTO THE SIDE OF THE NEIGHBOR'S YARD. ALL THIS HAPPENED WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IN PARK. I PULLED BACK TO REVERSE SO I COULD GET OFF THE CAR AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE TRUCK CONTINUED REVVING THIS TIME GOING IN REVERSE, AGAIN I KEPT PRESSING THE BRAKE, BUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP IT WAS OUT OF CONTROL. IT WENT IN A HALF CIRCLE GOING INTO THE NEIGHBOR'S FRONT YARD KNOCKING DOWN A 6 INCH WALL, SOME BUSHES AND RUNNING INTO A TREE. THE TRUCK STOPPED AND TURNED OFF BY ITSELF AFTER HITTING THE WALL, THE BUSHES AND THE TREE. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED A LOT OF DAMAGE AND TOTALING ONE OF THE CARS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE TRUCK TO GO FORWARD WHILE IN PARK, THE BRAKES NOT TO WORK AND THE ENGINE REVVING UP. I BELIEVE THE PARTS AFFECTED ARE THE BRAKES, THE POWER TRAIN AND SPEED CONTROL.
The power assist motor failed years ago. Dodge said it was outside the recall date. Just like all the other recalls. They said that my truck was outside the time.
UPON STARTING VEHICLE MADE LOUD TICKING NOISE, AND WAS RUNNING A BIT ROUGH, NEXT MORNING AGAIN STARTED THE TRUCK AND IT WAS MAKING TICKING NOISE BUT NOW WAS LOSING HORSEPOWER SO WE HAD TRUCK TOWED TO SHOP THINKING COULD BE SOMETHING EASY, TRUCK MAINTENANCE MAYBE. MECHANIC STATED THE C CLIP ON THE LIFTER HAD BROKEN AND THE TRUCK WAS UTILIZING 7 CYLINDERS AND NOT 8. MECHANIC STATED HE COULDN'T PIN POINT A CAUSE FOR THIS TO HAVE HAPPENED, BUT THE REPAIR WOULD BE COSTLY. UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE NOT UNDER ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, I WAS LOOKING ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THIS WAS UNDER RECALL OR IF THERE WAS A REASONABLE CAUSE FOR THIS TYPE OF BREAKDOWN HOWEVER FOUND THAT MANY ON THE 2013 ENGINES ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE. I HAVE NOT YET CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND BASED UPON WHAT I HAVE READ IN COUNTLESS FORUMS, CHRYSLER'S NOT STANDING BY THE PRODUCT ANYWAY, SO I DECIDED TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT INSTEAD, I'M NOT SURE IF FILING THIS COMPLAINT WILL CHANGE CHRYSLER'S VIEW OF THE DEFECTIVE ENGINES OR NOT BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO HAPPEN, THUS FAR NO LIVES HAVE BEEN TAKEN HOWEVER IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE ABOVE 50 MPH AND THE ENGINE LOOSES POWER OR SHUTS DOWN AS OUR VEHICLE DID IT COULD EASILY CAUSE LOSS OF LIFE. THIS IN MY OPINION IS A SAFETY ISSUES NOT ONLY FOR THE PERSON DRIVING VEHICLES WITH THESE DEFECTIVE ENGINES BUT TO OTHERS ON THE ROAD WITH THEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (ARRIGO DODGE, 5851 S. US HWY 1, FORT PIERCE, FL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,800. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
SOME OF THE BOLTS ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAVE BROKEN.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKEN. I HAD 2 BROKEN BOLTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND 1 ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THIS CAUSED A TICKING NOISE UPON START UP THAT WOULD THEN GO AWAY AFTER THE ENGINE WARMED UP. NO REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS FROM HAPPENING AND HAS TO BE A FAULTY PART/DESIGN WITH THE 5.7L V8 HEMI. ISSUE HAS BEEN COMPLAINED ABOUT ON TRUCK FORUMS DATING ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2008 MODELS. SERVICE FOR THIS REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO AGE OF THE TRUCK AND MILEAGE 114,800.
TAILGATE FALLS FOR NO REASON AND WHEN I TRY TO PUT IT BACK UP IT WON'T LATCH. IT TAKES MULTIPLE TRIES TO GET IT TO DO SO. I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK IT ONCE I DO GET IT LATCHED. THIS HAPPENS CONSTANTLY. IT'S RATHER DANGEROUS NOT ONLY FOR THE RISK OF CARGO FALLING OUT BUT FOR ME HAVING TO STOP ALONG THE INTERSTATE AND FIGHT WITH IT WHILE CARS ARE FLYING BY ME AT 65+MPH. IT'S HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES BUT I WILL PUT THE MOST RECENT DATE BELOW. DEALER SAYS IT'S BECAUSE OF SOME 'MODULE' AND I HAVE TO PAY $267 TO HAVE IT FIXED. SEEMS LIKE IT'S A DEFECT AND DODGE SHOULD BE COVERING THE COST, THE TRUCK IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD FOR GOD'S SAKE.
THE BOLTS OR STUDS THAT HOLD THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO THE ENGINE BROKE OR SHEARED OFF. THIS PRESENTS A BREAK IN THE ABILITY OF THE ENGINE TO SAFELY TRANSPORT EXHAUST GASES TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. EXHAUST GASES ARE NOW INTRODUCED TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE PASSENGER CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. EXHAUST COULD BE SMELLED IN THE CABIN TO THE VEHICLE AT START UP WHICH MEANS THAT CARBON MONOXIDE COULD BE INTRODUCED TO THE CABIN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. SECONDLY, WITH A EXHAUST LEAK OCCURRING AT THE ENGINE BLOCK, EXHAUST GASES ARE BYPASSING THE POLLUTION CONTROL EQUIPMENT WHICH MAY BE A EPA ISSUE. REFERENCING COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKE CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK AND A TICKING NOISE. THE TICKING NOISE WAS HEARD AT START UP. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON THE HEMI ENGINES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, THE GEAR SHIFT MOVED WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBERS: T79, T35, AND R36 AT EAST CAROLINA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (3401 S MEMORIAL DR, GREENVILLE, NC 27834, 888-848-5262), BUT THEY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASH GOES BLANK THEN COMES BACK ON.. NOW IS TICKING WHEN IT DOES.. HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING NORMALLY
BOTH HEADLAMPS ARE EXPERIENCING SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE ENTERING THE SEALED BEAM AREAS, CAUSING A "FOG-LIKE" EFFECT OVER THE INTERIOR OF THE HEADLAMPS AND REDUCING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF NIGHT TIME VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. THE MOISTURE DOES NOT GO AWAY ON ITS OWN AFTER A FEW DAYS AS FCA ENGINEERS SAY IT SHOULD.
The fuel level gauge/sensor has failed 3 times now, making it impossible to know the fuel level when driving. It was repaired in January 2019, and again in July 2019, and failed again in August 2020 and remains broken due to the ridiculously high repair cost. This is a common problem with Ram pickups and should be a recall. When the fuel gauge fails the check engine light comes on and stays on until cleared by a technician. This is a safety hazard because the driver has no way of knowing how much fuel is actually in the tank and could easily end up with the driver being stranded on a busy interstate or in a dangerous situation.
WHILE DRIVING THE TAILGATE WILL OPEN WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAS DONE THIS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST 3 MONTHS.. I HAVE HAD ITEMS FALL OUT ONE TIME ONTO THE ROADWAY LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENTS ONLY SOME ITEM DAMAGE.I CONTACTED THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DODGE RAM DEALER THEY SAID IT SOUNDS LIKE THE LATCH IS FAILING. THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2015 THRU 2018 RAMS FOR THE PROBLEM I AM DESCRIBING. THEY SAID I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE LATCH TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IF THERE WAS A PROBLEMS WITH LATER YEARS THAN MINE I WOULD GUESS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2013'S.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IN COLD TEMPERATURES, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. ALSO, THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROWN DODGE (2120 CHATMAN RD, CHATTANOOGA, TN) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC RACK AND PINION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO HEAT ON DRIVERS SIDE
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WILL ALL UNLOCK, BUT ONLY THE DRIVER DOOR AND THE TAILGATE WILL LOCK. I PRESS UNLOCK ON EITHER THE KEY FOB, THE EXTERIOR KEY FOB, OR ON THE INTERIOR SWITCHES (DRIVER & PASSENGER) AND ALL DOORS (DRIVER, PASSENGER, TWO REAR, AND TAILGATE) WILL ALL UNLOCK. I PRESS LOCK ON EITHER THE KEY FOB OR ON THE INTERIOR SWITCHES (DRIVER AND PASSENGER) AND ONLY THE DRIVER AND TAILGATE WILL LOCK. AT FIRST, IT WAS INTERMITTENT. MAYBE THE PASSENGER DOORS WOULD LOCK, MAYBE THEY WOULDN'T. THEN IT GOES AWAY FOR A LITTLE WHILE. THEN IT COMES BACK FOR AWHILE, THE THREE PASSENGER DOORS WON'T LOCK.
I PURCHASED THIS 2013 RAM ON OR ABOUT JUNE 15, 2018. ON FIVE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION REQUIRES IMMEDIATE SERVICE ALARM WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THREE TIMES (ONCE WITH A SERVICE TECHNICIAN IN THE TRUCK), ONCE WHILE ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AND ONCE WHILE PARKED. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, ZEIGLER OF PLAINWELL EACH TIME FOR REPAIRS. I FINALLY TOLD THEM TO KEEP THE TRUCK SO THEY LET ME SPEND NINE HOURS, LOOKING AT 12 TRUCKS, BEFORE SETTLING ON A 2015 RAM 1500. I SAY SETTLED BECAUSE THE FINAL TRUCK WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT ALSO HAS THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION. I COMPLETED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT ON THE AIR RIDE FAILING ON THE 2015 ON FEBRUARY 8, 2019, AS WELL. I JUST HEARD FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE SAME PARTS FAILED ON THE 2015 AND THIS 2013, THE LEFT FRONT AIR SPRING AND THE PUMP & MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY. IF THESE PARTS KEEP FAILING OVER MULTIPLE YEARS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. THE RIDE GOES FROM SMOOTH TO DRIVING ON LOGS INSTEAD OF TIRES, REGARDLESS OF SPEED, SO THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING A CRASH.
HYDRAULIC LIFTER FAILED IN 5.7L HEMI V8 ENGINE, CAUSING DAMAGE TO CAMSHAFT LOBE. VEHICLE UNDRIVEABLE. LIFTER (PART) BACK ORDERED FROM FACTORY FOR 1-2 MONTHS. THIS PART FAILURE IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET, IN RAM/CHRYSLER FORUMS AND CAR REPAIR WEBSITES. NHTSA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO A RECALL. FCA IS NOT STANDING BY CUSTOMERS. IN MY CASE, THEY REFUSE TO EVEN PROVIDE RENTAL ASSISTANCE DURING THE 1-2 MONTH REPAIR PERIOD, WHEN MY TRUCK IS TORN APART SITTING AT THEIR DEALER.
NO HEAT ON DRIVER'S SIDE COMING FROM ANY VENTS. VISIBILITY AFFECTED IN COLD WEATHER. FIRST NOTICED AROUND OCTOBER 22, 2018 WHEN HEATER WAS TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. CONTINUED WHEN IN TOWN AND STATIONARY.
DASHBOARD READS "CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID". THERE IS NO POWER STEERING FLUID RESERVOIR ON THE 2013 DODGE RAM, IT HAS AN ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. TOOK TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHO STATES THE EPS AND RADIO USE THE SAME MODULE AND THE EPS MODULE REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED UP. THE VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE WITH THIS FIX. IT CANNOT SIMPLY BE WEAR AND TEAR ON A 5 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. THE EPS MODULE SHOULD BE MADE TO LAST A LIFETIME, AND IF NOT, THEN THE CONSUMER SHOULD BE MADE AWARE THAT IT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACE WITHIN 5 YEARS OF PURCHASE AT AN EXPENSE OF UP TO $3K. I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURER FAILURE AND SHOULD HAVE A RECALL. I WAS LUCKY MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE OR SERIOUS INJURY COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED SINCE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP ENTIRELY. IT DOES NOT TURN WHATSOEVER. IF I WAS TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON A HIGHWAY OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN NOT ONLY SERIOUS INJURY, BUT POSSIBLE FATALITIES.
I TOOK MY TRUCK IN 3-4 WEEKS AGO BECAUSE OF AN ALARMING ISSUE OF THE TRUCK SURGING FORWARD AT HIGHER AND HIGHER SPEEDS AFTER ACCELERATION. IT WOULD NOT STOP EVEN AFTER BRAKING. I HAD TO SHUT OFF THE TRUCK. THEY SAID THERE WAS A SPEED CONTROL RELATED RECALL AND REPLACED SOME MODULE. BOTH HAPPENED GOING 50+ MPH ON A CROWED HIGHWAY. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TWICE YESTERDAY DURING ACCELERTION. VERY SCARY AND UNSAFE. I'M AFRAID TO USE MY VEHICLE. BARELY AVOIDED ACCIDENTS EACH TIME.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY TRUCK SLOWS IT'S SELF DOWN AND THEN MY BREAKS LOCK UP. IF THE BREAKS ARE BLED IT CAN MOVE BUT WILL DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. THE ABS LIGHT,TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT ARE ON. A DECODER ONLY BRING UP A CODE SAYING ABS. IF THE TRUCK SITS FOR A FEW DAYS THE BREAKS HAVE TO BE BLED OFF BEFORE IT CAN BE STARTED AS IT'S A PUSH BUTTON START.
WHEN PARKING I GET ERROR 'VEHICLE NOT IN PARK' AND ENGINE WILL NOT SHUT OFF. SEEMS STUCK AND UNTIL YOU PUT IT IN REVERSE, THEN DRIVE, THEN PARK MULTIPLE TIMES IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. EVERYTIME I TRY AND PARK AND I AM STATIONARY FOR THE PAST MONTH.
KEYFOB DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT OPENS THE TRUCK ON ITS OWN AND KEEPS TRYING TO OPEN ALL TIME WHEN KEYFOB IS NEAR.
PAINT BUBBLING ON PASSENGER SIDE BELOW RADIO ANTENNA, NOTICED RIGHT AT THE END OF THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD. HOWEVER, NO RUST AT THAT TIME, BUT NOW PAINT IS STARTING TO FRACTURE AND RUST WILL BE EVIDENT IN THE NEAR FUTURE. FEEL THIS IS A DEFECT DUE TO A COUPLE POSSIBLE REASONS. FIRST, THERE COULD BE A DEFECT IN THE SEAL AROUND THE ANTENNA THAT LET IN MOISTURE WHICH EVENTUALLY CAUSED A BREAKDOWN OF THE BODY FROM THE INSIDE OUT. SECOND, THERE IS SOUND DEADENING FOAM THAT TRAPPED MOISTURE CAUSING THE BREAKDOWN OF THE BODY FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
5.7L HEMI BROKEN EXHAUST BOLTS AND WARPED EXHAUST MANIFOLD . ALOWING EXHAUST TO EXCAPE AND ENTER THE CAB OF THE TRUCK . WAS TOLD UNSAFE TO DRIVE TILL FIXED . 3 MOS OUT OF WARRANTY . 56000 MILES .TRUCK NOW SITS AS I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND ITS UNSAFE TO DRIVE . WAS GETTING BAD HEADACHES DRIVING THE TRUCK SINCE SITTING I HAVE HAD NO MORE HEADACHES.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO YORK GARY AUTOPLEX (1420 LESLIE ST, NASHVILLE, AR 71852, (877) 809-4344) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFTER ON THE MOTOR COLLAPSED AND THE CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
2013 RAM PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WON'T WORK DUE TO INFERIOR WIRING AND COMPUTER PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP AND SEVERAL MECHANICS HAVE CONFIRMED THIS PROBLEM. NO ONE CAN AFFORD THE 'FIX" FOR THIS ISSUE. I HAVE NO PROBLEM REPLACING BURNED OUT HEADLIGHTS BUT SEE THE POOR DESIGN OF THIS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAN NOT BE RESOLVED REASONABLY. I HAVE A 1995 TRUCK WITH NO HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS NOW OR EVER. IF THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T COME UP WITH AN EASY FIX THAN THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED. OR DISCOUNTED FOR DAYLIGHT ONLY.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING RACK WENT OUT 26500 MILES 2700.00 TO REPLACE.THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! RECALLED 2015 MODEL BUT NOT 13&14! AND THEY HAD PROBLEMS. I GUESS IT WILL TAKE A DEATH.

THE CONTACT APPLIED BOTH FEET IN AN ATTEMPT TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP ACCELERATING AND THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKE FUNCTIONALITY. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN THE PARK POSITION. THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR AND NOTICED SMOKE RISING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BILL MARSH CHRYSLER DODGE AND JEEP (408 WEST MILES ROAD, KALKASKA, MICHIGAN 49646, 231-258-9192) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED OR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES PRESENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 137,000. *TT UPDATED 10/9/18*JB
WHEN STARTING TRUCK A DASH INDICATION OF "SERVICE POWER STEERING" IS DISPLAYED. ATTEMPT TO TURN STEERING WHEEL AND IT MANUAL STEERING. NO ASSIST. TURN VEHICLE OFF FOR 5 MINUTES AND START AGAIN AND ISSUE RETURNS. VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT POWER STEERING.
AS I WAS PARKING MY VEHICLE I HEARD A CLICK SOUND. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ALSO HORN/RADIO/CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. VERY UNSAFE. NOT FARE FOR A DEFECT LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN. AFTER READING FORUMS ONLINE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT FCA HAS NOT LOOKED INTO.
