The components that malfunctioned in my 2014 Ecodiesel Ram 1500 was the fuel sending unit and fuel pump. As I was driving on the freeway my truck started cutting out and stalling from 75 mph. It finally stalled and I was able to pull over in the middle island on the freeway I was on. The truck would start then turn off. The fuel gauge read over 1/4 tank of diesel fuel. The safety of myself or my family could have been at risk if someone else was driving that truck. Even for myself trying to pull out of full commuter traffic was very dangerous with a stalled vehicle. I don't know if the problem has been reproduced or reported by any other owner of the same vehicle. The only inspection was done by the Auto shop that works on my truck. Their were no warning lights or alerts on my dashboard display while this event took place. I had my vehicle towed to the shop that does service for me. They discovered I was out of fuel due to a faulty sending unit and fuel pump. The fuel gauge on the dash was showing 1/4 tank when it was actually empty.
My electric steering on my truck keeps jerking me into on coming traffic when I make a hard left or right turn.I have been working at a dealership for about 3.5 years now and have a two year degree in automotive service technology I can tell you that it is my rack and pinion. Intermittent only when turning. Please resolve this issue before some one wrecks and die.
Steering locked up and had to replace Steering Rack. Found out many models have had same issue with SAME PART. This should also have been part of any recall due to the nature and severity of this failure. Part was hard to find due to the nature of this issue and many have been replaced This issue could have caused a severe if not deadly accident if component would have failed while driving
Driving down the the highway of Creedmoor Road in Raleigh, NC, I had a sudden loss of power steering and hit a guard rail. Luckily, the only damage was to the front bumper. I took the vehicle into my local garage and they said that the power steering is Electronically controlled by the Rack and Pinion and that it had failed. The parts are nearly $3,000. My truck only has 80k miles on it. Looking throughout various forums, it seems that this is happening to many others as well with various amounts of miles. Until right now, my truck still has no power steering and is undriveable. The part is not available for purchase. This is a very dangerous situation. Had it been my wife driving, she would not have been able to control the steering as the v8 weighing on the front wheels makes it difficult to turn at all.
Camshaft lobe failure one of the shops in my area said they believe there is a recall?
In reference to: NHTSA Recall #22V-406, FCA Recall #Z46. On June 9, 2022 FCA contacted me by mail to inform me that the High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) on my 2014 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel is being recalled. I was informed that I would be contacted when parts are available. As of today (a year later, June 19, 2023), the parts remain unavailable. My dealership said they have no parts and I have to talk to the MOPAR Recall department. The MOPAR Recall department stated I have to resolve the issue at the dealership. Meanwhile, neither the dealership nor MOPAR claim to have parts and will not repair the vehicle. MOPAR and the dealership have me running circles and neither of them claim to have parts or a way to get the parts so the recall work can be completed on my vehicle. I think I'm getting the run-around.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and hauling a boat uphill, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, a fuel odor was detected while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and two cases were opened. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The fuel gauge and fuel sensor is faulty in my 2014 Ram 1500 and there are thousands of owners for Ram 1500s with the exact same issue. This should be a National recall. My vehicle is currently on a full tank but reads this way.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the traction control, ABS, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the ABS Module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
The Airbags did not deploy in head on collision at a speed of over 30 mph. No warring lights were present at the time of the accident. The vehicle was totaled by the insurance adjuster and the police were on scene after the accident happened.
When driving vehicle with my with the check engine light appeared. We were on interstate and truck would not accelerate above 45-50 mph with intermittent surges. I called dealership and they took in my vehicle and replaced the Module Powertrain Control stating that would fix issue. After replacing MPC they check engine light was still not repaired. Dealership told me that fuel pump, fuel lines, intake manifold, and coolant leak needed to be repaired, I asked dealership if that would fix issue and they stated that they did not know and were working with Chrysler/Dodge/Ram to resolve. After a total of 7 weeks the repairs are still not completed. Prior to picking up vehicle I called FCA USA LLC and asked what was being done to get recalls repaired and received responses that repair solution has not been sent to dealerships and another stated parts were not available. I picked up truck and was told that I would need to add coolant every 3 days and not let the fuel level get low to keep fuel pump from failing. I spoke with FCA - Dodge ram and they stated they still do not have parts or a repair for the two recalls mention. In addition the coolant leak would not be repaired under warranty since I had the EGR and intake replaced as a recall due to a failure in 2021. They stated warranties do not apply to recall work. My concern is that they cannot fix the two outstanding year old recalls and have no direction for dealerships. How do I get these issues fixed?
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH and towing a light RV trailer, the power steering failed. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled off the road and turned off and restarted the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to regain steering functionality. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
There’s a lot of complains a lot of people that says dodge rams have problems with the ignition switch all over the internet there’s people taking there ignitions out and open them and cleaning them with alcohol so they can work again and turn the truck on. This just happened to me it was working perfectly then it started turning on just occasionally and now it won’t work at all. This is a big problem because is on every dodge ram 2014 and older sometimes even on 2017 and 18 with all this people complaining about the same issue is obvious this is the companies responsibility and we shouldn’t be paying hundreds of dollars when it can be fixed for free if it was on the safety recall website.
4 of the exhaust manifold bolts were broken, so exhaust manifold was leaking and making vehicle very loud. Both sides of engine had broken bolts. Safety of me and my passengers was not at risk, if you were to exclude our eardrums. I had an independant service center fix the issue. the failed component was not inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance representatives. The shop that did the work inspected the failed components. The engine was making a loud ticking noise while running. Noise was emitting from both sides of the engine.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 50–55 MPH, the power steering functionality became inoperable. The red steering wheel warning light was illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the rack and pinion and steering assembly module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Action Number: RQ23003 (Steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000.
While on vacation in Canada, power steering went out. It came back once for less than a mile and went out again. I was told the remanufactured parts were on back order. Once I got the truck back to Missouri I was quoted $3440 for the part. I found it online from a dealer in McKinney Texas and repaired it myself for $1878. Several times as we limped the truck back to Missouri, my friend would have to help turn the wheel as we pulled into and out of tight turns.....going through towns, gas stations, etc. I do my own work on all my vehicles, so it was never looked at by my dealer. I ordered the parts from a Dodge dealer in McKinney Texas and repaired it myself. I had read people were having issues with intermittent steering. This was the first time for me. We pulled into the lodge, in Canada, to get a bag of ice. When my friend returned to the truck, I actually thought it had shut off because I couldn't turn the steering wheel to leave. Got it to the cabin and checked the fuse at the battery and all the wiring down to the EPS. Unhooked the battery and made sure all the connections were clean and when we put it back together the steering came back. Shut the truck off and later on when we went to leave the steering was out of it again.
On May 26th, 2023 I was driving my Ram 1500 with 3.0 liter diesel down a multilane road with traffic. At about 30 mph, normal driving, the engine stalled without warning and power brakes and steering were lost. Traffic continued to pass as I had to cross lanes of traffic and coast to a stop out of the way of traffic. The vehicle could not be restarted or put into neutral to move. There were no abnormal driving issues, noises, warnings, or messages prior to the event. The truck was towed to a Ram dealership for inspection. The engine code clearly indicated that there was an issue with the crankshaft sensor. The dealership diagnosis was that the oil pump had failed and the engine was destroyed. After towing it to a second, independent shop, the actual diagnosis is that the reluctor wheel (tone wheel) and crankshaft sensor had failed, preventing fuel injection to the engine. This is a known issue on 2014-2016 Ram Ecodiesel trucks. My truck (manufactured in May 2014) was not a part of the recall. Once the transmission was removed to validate the tone wheel issue, it was confirmed when the mechanic found that the magnetic strip on the tone wheel had delaminated and broken off. The magnetic strip had multiple cracks. This part is in my possession and available for inspection. After replacing the tone wheel and crankshaft position sensor, the truck was back to running normally. The repair was completed by the shop at my expense because Ram refused to address the tone wheel issue or even look into it because it wasn't under recall. As of June 9th of 2023, Ram has said that they are possibly going to issue a recall for this (66A) but will not cover the expense because it was not repaired at a Ram dealership.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
This is the second attempt reporting this issue with this vehicle and I have not received any response. This vehicle has recalls and was sold with recalls, in which I find this highly irresponsible from all angles. You can see for yourself the safety risks, it is very clear it is a safety hazard issue. Yes, the vehicle has been looked at and we have the proper paperwork and also, yes, warning lights have come on and they were checked and dismissed as “normal.” It is not normal, nor is it safe, nor is this acceptable. Not a single person, manufacturer, even cares to fix this problem that did not occur on our behalf, it is due to horrible manufacturing. How these vehicles are allowed to be sold blows my mind.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The electronic throttle warning light was illuminated. The contact's son, an independent mechanic, diagnosed that the fuel pressure was low, and that the fuel injector was faulty. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,400. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
On 07 May 2023, the engine temperature light came lite up on my 2014 Ram 1500 which has the Fiat Chrysler Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine. The engine had approximately 138,000 miles on it. The incident occurred while driving on a major interstate highway with three (3) other people in the vehicle. We were fortunate to have an exit close to where the incident occurred and we were able to get the truck off the highway. An independent service center was contacted and performed a diagnostic on the truck. They only code found at the time was for the engine temperature light. On 21 May 2023, the check engine light came on with no warning nor were there any previous or prior failures with the coolant system. A scan revealed a P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire was detected. On 25 May 2023, I replaced all six (6) spark plugs and coil packs. On 04 June 2023, the check engine light came on and a scan revealed a a P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire was detected. I made an appointment at Faulkner Ram Dodge dealership in Mechanicsburg, PA and was able to get the truck in until 07 July 2023. During the period 04 June 2023 through 06 July 2023, I did not drive the truck. On 07 July 2023, the dealership informed me the engine head gasket had blown, allowing coolant into cylinder 3 which was the cylinder that had shown up on the scan as the cylinder 3 misfire. The dealership indicated a new engine would be required to fix the problem. I ordered a rebuilt Fiat Chrysler Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine from Jasper Engines and it's currently being installed by one of their preferred engine installers. Upon doing research on the Fiat Chrysler Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine, the cylinder 3 misfire is a known issue and typically ends with a new engine being installed into the vehicle. There are no warnings or symptoms of the issue prior to failure. The dealership repair center indicates the issue was caused by a blown head gasket and a new engine is in order. This is exactly my same experience.
Wiper works intermittently, sometimes it functions, sometimes it doesn't turn off. This causes a dangerous condition in rain storms. After some research it appears to be a condition across the entire Ram platform and needs to be addressed because it is a serious safety issue. Wiper motor and switch have been replaced with new parts but the issue continues.
Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit - P0463. Yes, available for inspection. The Fuel level sensor cuts out and stops reporting fuel levels. This can lead to running out of gas on the highway or other dangerous situations that put the driver and others at risk. Also, the computer monitors stop reporting, therefore other aspects of the vehicle are compromised when the fuel level sensor stops working. The dealer confirms this is a common problem on this vehicle. Yes the vehicle was inspected by the dealer. The warning lamp check engine light comes on when the system fails. there is no prior warning.
This whole vehicle has several recalls, looking at what the recalls stated, those are all safety issues that could occur at any moment. The engine has failed in said vehicle. The issues at hand have been confirmed by a registered mechanic. He was unable to locate any engine for this vehicle and it was taken to a dealership, in which they will not fix. Also, have been in touch with Stillantis, however, after giving them time to respond after the initial conversation, to find out they never took down our information. Another issue is they lied and said the dealership said it was fine. The problem is that was a definite lie. They did not know where or what dealership. This vehicle was made and sold to be reliable but, it is not. There are recalls and there have been class action lawsuits but, no one is willing to help with something that was not to be sold in the first place.
Instrument cluster screen flickered dim and light for several months. Instrument cluster is now completely white showing a blank screen.
04/20/23 error code P0018 (Engine Warning Light) popped up. 06/07/23 error code P0018 (Engine Warning Light) popped up. Took for repair. 01/09/24 error code P0018 (engine Warning Light) popped up again. Took for repair. Took 52 days to repair. 02/26/24 error code P0018 (Engine Warning Light) popped up again. Took for repair. While traveling and then braking to stop, engine "shuddered" very hard, had to wait a couple seconds before engine was able to function properly to move vehicle from roadway. vehicle has been sent and or repaired by Carmax and Orange Coast Chrysler Dodge Dealer #491. Orange Coast Dodge has also replaced Crankshaft Sensors. Suggested to replace the PCM but changed their view and now they want to tear down engine.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, an undisclosed code and the electronic throttle control system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the air filter needed to be replaced; however, the air filter did not need to be replaced. The contact was then informed of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to a different dealer and advised to continue to drive the vehicle; however, parts were still unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
I have been the only owner of this truck since it was new from the factory. Some time in the first part of 2022 the ABS module light on the dash was coming on and then going off. When I needed an oil change I took the truck to the dealer I always go to and informed the service writer about it. They said they couldn't check it out for the module until it completely goes out. So, on 5/22/23 I took the truck to the dealer cause the ABS module went out along with my trailer brake control and traction control. The service writer called the parts depart. to see if the module was in house and parts said they would have to order it. Service writer said I could drive the truck and I told them that the brakes are not the same as when the module was working. I told them that you have to push harder on the pedal and that the brakes are not stopping as quickly. He said it would be alright. Every time I take the truck in for an oil change I ask them about the module and call them quite often and the service writer's tell me the same about the module. Parts can not get a module from the manufacturer and don't know when they will get one but, the part is on order. The service writer did give me a phone number to the manufacturer linking me to a help department to see if they can inquire or know why the company is not making them. On 1/23/25 I did call the manufacturer and talk to one of the personal there. The person did not have any information on the module and they said they couldn't tell me why there are no ABS MODULES and that I should keep calling the parts department at my local dealer. So, I guess I don't know when the brakes will completely go out while I am driving it or my family is in it with me that may cause a wreck. I can't pull my camper and haven't for two years now. I don't know what will happen on a rain slick road or an ice and snow covered road. I can't sell the truck or trade it in to get a proper vehicle. Please help Thank You
My fuel pump disintegrated and contaminated the fuel delivery system. The dealer has had my car and the parts to fix it sinve April 11th, 2023 but the manufacturer will not approve the fix.
Complete loss of electric power steering.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while parked on a flat road surface, the transmission was shifted into park(P), but the vehicle rolled backwards. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.
Front gas tank support failed dropping the front of the tank. Fuel tank made contact with driveshaft but no fuel was spilled. It appears the frame rusted and the actual strap didn't fail. I took new delivery of this 2014MY vehicle in Dec 2013. I will likely repair this myself but have not started repairs yet.
Recall z46 states Dealers will replace the HPFP, and inspect and replace, if necessary, additional fuel system components, free of charge. After my dealer replaced fuel pump additional fuel system components failed, after dealer inspection I was told they only would change HPFP not honoring full recall for replacement of additional fuel system components. Putting me at risk of the original problem this recall was supposed to fix. My vehicle was fine with no engine check lights before I brought it for recall z46 after the first 10 miles since the recall i have 3 check engine light codes relating to fuel system.now it's sitting at the dealership lot with repairs to be completed.
Fuel Level sensor fails, purchased truck in 2022 and it was fine, filled up one day and check engine light came out, noticed when I fill up again it goes off. This is a faulty part the "fuel level sensor" 1,000s of forums and youtube videos about it, can't believe Ram hasn't recalled this.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while parking the vehicle, the contact became aware that the power steering had failed. Additionally, the power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the power steering module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: RQ23003 (Steering). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the steering wheel became firm. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized with the power steering assist warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over on the side of the road and turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle operated as designed. The dealer was contacted but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty. No assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 142,000.
Was driving to gym and power steering rack that everyone else is having issues with went out while driving. I was able to muscle my truck off the highway and into the parking lot of the gym. From there it was towed to a auto repair shop and quoted almost $4,000 to fix. I was able to get the part and fix it for $2,700. The part only was $2,435. We need paid back from Mopar. This is not right so many people are having the same issue. Thank you.
Steering Rack Failure. Started inttermittenly then became undriveable.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the ABS had water in the system. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The power steering and traction control became inoperable. The contact stated that the brake pedal was soft when depressed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the ABS module, the front wheel, and the rear wheel sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the cap was full of grease and failed to connect, and the sensors were loosened. There was condensation in the module. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000. The contact stated it seems like with having the four wheel drive in gauge, an the abs malfunctioning, it took out the transmission.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Tire size is 275/60R20 115T AT+. Regarding the set of tires purchased from Sam’s Club via Pirelli, all 4 tires are dry rotted along the bead of each individual tire. The tires do not maintain pressure and the pressure drops significantly lower than the recommended PSI regarding environmental changes and ambient temperature in different regions. The manufacturer workmanship of the tire causes deflation in the tires which leads to different tread wear on the tires. I’ve contacted the manufacturer regarding the issue and they have not provided guidance to the merchant as a vendor to replace tires at no cost to the consumer submitting this report. I’m reporting this issue because Pirelli is not upholding their warranty in it’s entirety.
Power steering went out on my truck
ABS module has failed. It is available for inspection for a limited time. I have to send it to a repair facility. My ABS module controls speedometer, tire pressure sensors, seat belt chime rings constantly even when seatbelt is engaged. Several lights on the dash flash or remain on. The hydraulic pump runs and kills my battery when parked. There were no symptoms prior to failure. Only after failure. The problem has been inspected and confirmed by 2 repair facilities. One facility told me they had 18 on back-order when I inquired on a repair. There is a nationwide shortage per the Dodge Ram dealers. I have contacted Dealers, repair service centers and Dodge Corporate Headquarters. They said they have it under engineering review until August. My truck is unsafe to drive because I cannot regulate my speed (speedometer), may get rapid tire deflation (TPMS), parking brake lights sensors remain on.
I was driving on a busy congested road. I was traveling 55 mph. As I was driving, a warning light came on to service the power steering (this had not happened previously and I had no warning). I realized then that my steering wheel had seized and became immobile. Using tremendous force I was able to get the truck through traffic and to the side of the road. I was unable to control the truck normally. I had to navigate across two other lanes of traffic to get the truck to a safe position. It required a great deal of strength on the steering wheel to move the truck at all. Fortunately the road I was on was straight. If there had been any curve I would have definitely been in an accident and could have seriously injured myself or others. This car has been looked at by an independent mechanic and the problem verified. He has advised that there is no manufacturer part or aftermarket part available for this issue. Additionally the manufacturer has advised there is no fix. This car is currently not driveable and in my driveway available for inspection.
Check engine light came on after replacing spark plugs and coil packs. Code reads cylinder 03 misfire. Engine has a ticking noise. Cam and lifters are what's causing the check engine light. If not replaced with the upgraded cam and lifters, engine will be no good. Would be very unsafe if my engine were to blow up while driving on the freeway or around town with my children. Dodge knows these cams and lifters are junk and should replace them with the upgraded ones
I bought this 2014 RAM December of 2022. I drove the truck from Charlotte NC to Cleveland Ohio and back with no issues the week after I purchased it. At the end of January this year the FACTORY AIR SUSPENSION started giving me trouble. The Air bags deflate and will not pump back up and it becomes almost un drivable because it bounces violently and it slams down hard on the bump stops so hard it literally jars your insides and this is very very dangerous. The truck seems to have a mind of its own because it does this and then anywhere from 1-15 days later the warning lights go away and it seems to work just fine. It will pump back up and stay like it's supposed to be for anywhere from 1 day to a week and then it just automatically on its own deflates again all the way down to the bump stops and it is a terrible unsafe to drive all over again. This cycle has gone on and on and on since January. I have done all kinds of research and it seems there are possibly thousands of these trucks out there with this same issue and no factory recall that I'm aware of. Now a truck out on the roads and highways with no suspension I believe is very very dangerous I mean it literally feels like it's riding on square tires and the bouncing is so so violent and it slams down so hard after a larger bump or pot hole in the road it feels like something could actually just snap or break off. Most people like myself can't afford to make payments on a vehicle like this and she'll out thousands of dollars on a repair that is clearly a factory/ manufacturing issue and not something caused by me or any other customers with this same issue. I could really use some help with this because without transportation I can't work and driving the truck this way is going to possibly kill me or some other innocent people and I don't want that to happen for sure so I hope to hear back with some encouraging news from you guys on this issue. Thank you very much. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS warning light illuminated and he heard an abnormal sound underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the front axle fractured, and the front passenger’s side wheel detached. As a result of the failure, the vehicle started to slide. The contact engaged the parking brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the tow lot where it remained. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
