ENGINE LIGHT ON, DIAGNOSTIC READING: CYLINDER 6 MISFIRE DETECTED. RANDOM/MULTIPLE MISFIRE DETECTED. NUMBER 6 CYLINDER HAS A HIGH COUNT OF NO COMPRESSION. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
THE HEMI ENGINE HAS A KNOWN ISSUE FROM 2009 5.7 HEMI UP UNTIL PRESENT BUT RAM IS NOT RECALLING THE ENGINE. THE LIFTERS ARE SEIZING CAUSING THE ENGINE TO FAIL. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS. THESE ARE FAILING BEFORE 70K MILES AND MINE IS STARTING TO FAIL AS WELL. ITS A 4000 DOLLAR FIX WHEN THEY DO. DODGE RAM NEEDS TO RECALL THIS ISSUE. I PURCHASED MY TRUCK FOR $26000 AND HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS.
THIS TRUCK HAS THE OPTIONAL AIR SUSPENSION, WHICH WILL NOT FUNCTION IN COLD WEATHER. THE COMPRESSOR AND LINES GET POLLUTED WITH MOISTURE WHICH FREEZES, CAUSING THE PUMP TO NOT WORK AND CONTROL VALVES TO STICK. THE RESULT IS THE TRUCK HAS NO SUSPENSION WHATSOEVER. WARMING THE TRUCK UP IN THE SHOP RESTORES FUNCTIONALITY TEMPORARILY. THE DEALERSHIP AND FCA ITSELF WILL ONLY REPLACE COMPONENTS, WHICH DOES NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I HAVE STARTED A FACEBOOK ACTION GROUP THAT HAS NUMEROUS OTHER OWNERS WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. FCA WILL NOT RECALL OR CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND BECAME STUCK. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED WITH FORCE IN ORDER FOR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO BE RELEASED. THE CONTACT INFORMED CROWN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM GREENSBORO (3710 W WENDOVER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC 27407, (336) 790-9850) OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
I HAVE A 2014 RAM 1500 5.7L SPORT AND OVER A YEAR IT STARTED LOSING POWER STEERING. I TURN ON THE VEHICLE AND HAVE TO WAIT 5 TO 10 MINUTES FOR THE EPS TO ACTIVATE. IT STARTED DOING THIS ALL ON ITS OWN ONE DAY. A MESSAGE APPEARS THAT SAYS SERVICE EPS. I HAVE READ AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, BUT FOR SOME REASON THERE IS NO RECOLL ON IT. AND THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME OVER $3,000 TO FIX THIS. CAN SOME ONE HELP ME WITH THIS.
DODGE RAM STEERING RECALL ALERT- THIS SAME SITUATION HAPPENED TO ME IN MY MODEL 2014 DODGE RAM 1500 BIG HORN. RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED THE NUT HOLDING THE STEERING KNUCKLE AND RIGHT CONTROL ARM SEPARATED WHILE DRIVING. I FELT A HUGE POP AND JERK OF THE STEERING WHEEL. LUCKILY I WAS TRAVELING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. I TOOK TO SUNCOAST DODGE DEALER IMMEDIATELY, HE SAID I WAS LUCKY I COULD IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY WHICH I WAS SHORTLY BEFORE. HE SAID HE HAS NEVER SEEN A NUT FALL OFF BEFORE, BUT IT DID AND, COULD ROLLED AND CAUSED SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I WAS CHARGED FOR REPAIR AND PICKED UP TRUCK TODAY 2/5 THEN SAW RECALL FOR THIS EXACT SITUATION RELEASED TODAY BY CHRYSLER FIAT, BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED.
DURING COLD WEATHER IN MINNESOTA, THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED TO RESPOND CAUSING MY TRUCK TO GO INTO THE DITCH.
AIR SUSPENSION DOES NOT WORK IN THE COLD. HAS BEEN BACK AT THE DEALER MANY TIMES. NEW COMPRESSOR NEW SHOCKS AND STILL THE PROBLEM.
MAJOR OIL LEAK ENGINE COOLER. CAUSING OIL TO LEAK WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS GETTING ON THE TIRES. ON WET ROADS THIS HAS CAUSED THE REAR END OF THE TRUCK TO FISHTAIL AT NORMAL DRIVE SPEEDS AROUND CURVES AND TAKE OFFS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FUEL SENDER UNIT FAILED TO INDICATE THE FUEL LEVEL IN THE VEHICLE AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER (CLOVIS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM395 WEST HERNDON AVE, CLOVIS, CA 93612 (888) 696-0723) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.

AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK AND STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE FUEL INDICATOR READ THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE TANK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO JT'S DODGELAND OF COLUMBIA (LOCATED AT 190 GREYSTONE BLVD, COLUMBIA, SC 29210, 803-832-1255) WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL RELAY SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V459000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, THE HORN, ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL, AND INSTRUMENT PANEL BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ALL AMERICAN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT OF SAN ANGELO (4310 SHERWOOD WAY, SAN ANGELO, TX 76901) WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT OF THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH THE DEALER STATED WAS NOT AN ISSUE RELATED TO THE PREVIOUS RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,945.
I HAD A WATER PUMP FAILURE, CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. A FLATBED TRUCK CAME TO PICK IT UP. AFTER THREE WEEKS IN THE DEALER THEY CALLED ME IT WAS READY FOR PICK UP. I WENT THERE, INSPECTED THE WORK ALL WAS DONE CORRECTLY. WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP MY KEYS, THEY TOLD ME THAT DODGE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE "LIQUIDS" AND THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE COOLANT USED, $29.98 THEY CHARGED ME. I WENT TO TALK TO THE MANAGER AND ASKED HIM AND HE SAID THAT DODGE DOES NOT COVER FOR ANY LIQUIDS, IF YOU MAKE AN ENGINE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY, CUSTOMER PAYS FOR THE OIL AND FILTER, IF A REPAIR IS DONE ON THE AXLE, CUSTOMER HAD TO PAY FOR THE AXLE FLUID, IT IS INCREDIBLE!! GM INCLUDES EVERYTHING. MY TRUCK IS A 2014, BUT ONLY HAS 30K MILES ON IT, FIRST THIS IS NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN AT THIS LOW MILLAGE, AND SECOND IF THE DEALER IS GOING TO DO THE JOB, AFTER HAVING THE TRUCK SITTING IN THEIR YARD FOR THREE WEEKS, THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS INCLUDE THE COOLANT. DON'T YOU THINK. HOW DOES THE GOVERNMENT ALLOWS THIS? THERE SHOULD BE A LAW PROTECTING THE CUSTOMER FROM THIS KIND OF RIP OFFS. ALMOST THIRTY DOLLAR FOR COOLANT IT IS OUTRAGEOUS.
WE OWN A 2014 RAM 1500 LARAMIE. IT IS 3.22.19, SINCE JAN 4TH 2019 WE HAVE HAD 4 NEW COMPRESSORS INSTALLED AND WE JUST GOT OUR TRUCK BACK AFTER 1 MONTH OF NOT HAVING IT AND IT FAILED AGAIN FOR THE 5TH TIME AFTER DRIVING IT 15 MILES. WE ARE COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE DESIGN OF THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION IN THIS TRUCK. WE ARE NOW AT A LOSS BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT HAD OUR TRUCK FOR 3 MONTHS AND STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON IT AND CANNOT DRIVE IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SELL A 28,000 TRUCK THAT YOU CAN'T USE OR DRIVE.
AIR SUSPENSION FAILS IN COLD WEATHER, SOMETIMES TURNS OFF TRACTION CONTROL AND PROVIDES A ROUGH RIDE IN ICE AND SNOW, MAKING THE VEHICLE LESS SAFE. THIS OCCURS IN ALL TYPES OF DRIVING AND HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT IT.
THE TRUCKS AIR RIDE SUSPENSION WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY IN COLD CONDITIONS ON A HIGHWAY OR IN A STATIONARY POSITION .THE AUTOMATIC AIR SUSPENSION WILL GIVE OUT AND THE TRUCK WILL FEEL LIKE IT IS RIDING ON THE FRAME AND CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE IS COMPROMISED.THE SYSTEM WILL ALSO RETURN BACK TO NORMAL FUNCTIONS WITH WARMER WEATHER.BROUGHT TRUCK TO DEALER AND THEY CLEAR THE FAULT CODES AND SAY AIR SUSPENSION IS WORKING NORMAL.READ A LOT ABOUT OTHER RAM TRUCKS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS.
TAKATA RECALL. WHEN MY 2014 RAM 1500 IS STATIONARY, MOVING, OR JUST TURNED THE CAR ON. MY TOUCH SCREEN GOES BLACK, FREEZES, AND I CANNOT CONTROLL THE HEAT OR A.C, FAN SPEED, VOLUME TO THE RADIO, RADIO, HEATED SEATS, ANY ELECTRONIC BUTTONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL OR ANY OF THE BUTTONS THAT ARE CONNECTED TO MY SCREEN/RADIO. MY DAUGHTER'S BOY FRIEND JUST PURCHASED THE SAME YEAR TURCK I DID AND HE STARTED HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH HIS SCREEN.
FUEL LEAK AT INSIDE BEND OF METAL FUEL LINE. FACTORY DEFECT. FUEL LEAK AT SEVERAL INJECTORS WHEE IT MEETS MANIFOLD. GLOW PLUG MODULE AND GLOW PLUGS CONSTANTLY FAILING. WATER PUMP LEAK AND REPLACED. AIR SUSPENSION INOPERABLE. VEHICLE WELL MAINTAINED AND ONLY 32,000 MILES
SIMILAR TO NHTSA ISSUE # 11287014 DATED 12/5/19 ON A RAM. TWICE, I'VE PARKED MY TRUCK ON AN INCLINE (TWO DIFFERENT DRIVEWAYS), I'VE PUT THE CAR IN PARK, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND REMOVED THE KEYS AND GOTTEN OUT THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK THEN STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS, BOTH INSTANCES I JUMPED BACK IN AND PUSHED THE BREAK TO STOP THE TRUCK, SO I DO NOT KNOW HOW FAR IT WOULD HAVE ROLLED. IT DID ROLL AT LEAST 2 FEET BEFORE I GOT IT STOPPED. I DO NOT KNOW THE DATES OF THE INCIDENTS
"service power steering" indication on dash at cold weather startup. I have experienced this for a few years now. It seems wholly related to cold temperatures, as fault does not happen during warm weather. Truck is totally unable to be steered when in this fault condition. Seems to be a very common complaint with these EPS systems since the first year they were introduced in the Ram in 2013.

WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP, TWICE THE ENGINE HAS STALLED AND TWICE IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO STALL BUT INSTEAD CAME OUT OF GEAR. WHEN IT CAME OUT OF GEAR THE SHIFT KNOB STILL INDICATED "D" BUT THE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAID TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE
VEHICLE STALLS AND LOSES ALL POWER AND ELECTRICAL, SHIFTING ITSELF INTO PARK WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS DUE TO THE FAULTY TIPM IN CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING WITH MY WIFE AND CHILDREN ON THE HIGHWAY AND ON MANY OTHER OCCASIONS; THERE IS NO WARNING OR INDICATION THAT IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, IT JUST HAPPENS. THIS IS UNSAFE AND COULD RESULT IN MULTIPLE FATALITIES. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE DECEMBER 2018. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MAY 2018. AFTER DOING RESEARCH AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE HAVE DONE NOTHING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. HAD I KNOWN THAT PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE WOULD ENDANGER MY FAMILY, I NEVER WOULD HAVE EVEN CONSIDERED BUYING IT.
WAS DRIVING MY 2014 RAM 1500 HEMI 5.7 LITER WHEN I GOT ERROR MESSAGE POWER STEERING GUILD MAINTENANCE NEEDED. THE 2014 RAM MODEL HAS NO RESERVOIR SO I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER. THE DELEARSHIP COULDN'T CLEAR MESSAGE NOW SAYING WHOLE PART RAC AND PIN NEED TO BE FIXED. THE TRUCK WAS RUNNING FINE NO ISSUES ALL OF SUDDEN GOT MESSAGE AND COULDN'T TURN STEERING WHEEL. I READ SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM 2015 RAM 1500 PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2014 MODEL. I WOULD UPLOAD DOCS. BUT THE DEALER HAS MY TRUCK.
THE RAM 1500, 2014, THAT I CURRENTLY DRIVE HAS TERRIBLE HEADLIGHTS. AS THE TRUCK HAS GOTTEN A LITTLE OLDER THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE GOTTEN MUCH WORSE. THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TERRIBLE SINCE DAY ONE. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS PROFESSIONALLY BUFFED OUT, AND I HAVE CHANGED ALL FOUR BULBS WITH THE BEST BULBS I CAN FIND. ALMOST NO DIFFERENCE. THE TRUCK IS A DANGER TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I CANT SEE AT ALL. I AM SURE PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE SEEING ME AS WELL.
LAST NIGHT I PARKED MY TRUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY LIKE I BEEN DOING SINCE I HAD THE TRUCK WHICH I BOUGHT NEW AND LAST NIGHT I PARKED LIKE I USUALLY DO AND THIS MORNING I WAS INFORMED THAT MY TRUCK HAS ROLLED OUT OUT THE SPOT WHERE I LEFT IT TO THE EDGE OF THE STREET WHILE STILL IN PARK. IT COULD HAVE BACKED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE OR EVEN WORSE A KID
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THERE WAS A LOUD THUMP FROM THE ENGINE. ENGINE LOST POWER AND SHUT DOWN. INFO SCREEN DISPLAYED 'CHECK TRAILER BRAKE,' 'ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL,' AND 'TOWING MODE''.' WAS NOT TOWING ANYTHING AT THE TIME. ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY. ENGINE WILL NOT START NOW. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. AWAITING INFORMATION FROM DEALER ON REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BOLT THAT HELD THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.
THE FACTORY "AIR RIDE" SUSPENSION FAILS IN COLD WEATHER. THE AIR BAGS COMPLETELY DEFLATE, LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH NO SUSPENSION. LOSING ALL SUSPENSION ABILITY WHILE DRIVING IS A SERIOUS RISK TO LIFE. ENCOUNTERING SMALL POTHOLES OR ICY ROADS WITHOUT SUSPENSION INCREASES THE LIKELIHOOD OF WRECKS. THE LOWERING OF THE SUSPENSION CHANGES THE STEERING GEOMETRY REQUIRED TO PROPERLY STEER A VEHICLE ON THE ROADS. CAMBER, CASTER, AND TOE OF THE STEERING GEOMETRY ARE NEGATIVELY EFFECTED AND WILL RESULT IN INCREASED LIKELIHOOD OF WRECKS. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIPS IN ALASKA AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION DOES NOT FUNCTION HERE BUT CANNOT MAKE REPAIRS. I CALLED DODGE CORPORATE LINE AND THEY ASK ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIPS THAT INFORM ME THAT THERE IS NO FIX. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL ON THE RAM 1500 AIR RIDE SUSPENSION AS THIS IS A SERIOUS RISK TO LIFE ALLOWING THESE VEHICLES TO OPERATE IN COLD CLIMATES.
I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEKS PARKING IT ON A FLAT STREET. I PULLED IT IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR THE FIRST TIME (WHICH HAS A SLIGHT SLOPE DOWN TOWARD THE SIDEWALK/CITY STREET BEHIND). SET THE ROTARY DIAL TO PARK AND EXITED. I CAME BACK 8 HOURS LATER AND THE VEHICLE HAD ROLLED ABOUT 12 FEET DOWN ACROSS THE SIDEWALK TO THE EDGE OF THE CITY STREET. I PULLED THE VEHICLE BACK UP THE DRIVEWAY AND THIS TIME SET THE PARKING BRAKE BEFORE EXITING. I STOOD FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND OBSERVED A CREAKING SOUND AS THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SLOWLY ROLL AGAIN. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR IT HAD AGAIN ROLLED 1-2 FEET DOWN THE DRIVEWAY EVEN WITH THE PARKING BREAK ENGAGED. I PUT SPLIT FIREWOOD BEHIND THE BACK WHEELS TO PREVENT IT FROM ROLLING FURTHER.
Several exhaust manifold bolts are sheared off allowing leaking exhaust gases to enter inside of vehicle.
POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON STARTUP POWER STEERING INOPERATIVE. TURNED OFF WAITED ONE MINUTE RAN OK. AT MY NEXT STOP IT DID THE SAME AGAIN BUT TOOK SIX MINUTES BEFORE POWER STEERING WORKED. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
THE PARKING BRAKE ON MY 2014 DODGE RAM 1500 HAS FAILED. IT DECOMPRESSES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK JOLTS FORWARD AS A RESULT IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP FULLY AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CASEBERE MOTOR SALES, CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM TRUCKS (5768 OH-15, BRYAN, OH 43506, (419) 636-4594) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON THE RESULTS OF THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND TO LET THEM KNOW. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
MOST RECENT EPISODE OF TRUCK SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING WAS WHILE CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS IN RURAL AREA PULLED UP TO LOOK BOTH WAYS TO CROSS THEN STARTED OVER TRACKS TRUCK SHUT OFF IN MIDDLE OF TRACK NEEDLESS TO SAY A TRAIN WAS COMING AROUND CORNER, WHEN TRAIN WAS 200 YRD AWAY LUCK FORCED IT INTO NEUTRAL. NEEDLESS TO SAY HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIME IN 2015 AND RAM STATED IT WASN'T THROWING CODE FOR IT TO SHUT OFF. THEY LET THE DEATH TRAP BACK ON ROAD. THIS TRUCK HAS MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS.
ENGINE KEEPS STALLING RANDOMLY COMING TO A STOP OR IDLING DURING TIMES, WANTS TO TURN OFF WHILE PUTTING IN REVERSE, HAVE HAD A NEW BATTERY PUT IN AND ALTERNATOR HAS CHECKED OUT GOOD THROUGH DODGE THEMSELVES. ISSUES STARTED HAPPENING IN NOVEMBER WHEN THE TEMPERATURES GOT COLD. PURCHASED TRUCK IN JULY 23. HAD AN INTERLOCK SYSTEM PUT IN AND HAD NO ISSUES WITH IT UNTIL WINTER.
THE HEAT IS ONLY WORKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY TRUCK AND IT'S ONLY 5 YEAR OLD WHY AM JUST NOW HAVING THIS PROBLEM EVERY THING IS WORKING PROPERLY BUT THE HEAT
FUEL SENSOR FAILED AT 61K MILES. ECO MODE NOT AVAILABLE, UNKNOWN AMOUNT OF FUEL IN TANK CREATES A DRIVING HAZARD REGARDING RUNNING OUT OF FUEL.
CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT TURN ON WHEN DEPRESSED AND WHEN IT DOES THE CANCEL SWITCH DOES NOT DISENGAGE. TOLD THE SCCM AND SPEED CONTROL SWITCH IS RUSTING AND THERE IS S HIGH VOLTAGE RESISTANCE ISSUE BETWEEN THE TWO CONNECTIONS. ALSO THAT THIS COULD DEPLOY THE AIR BAG WITHOUT A COLLISION
I WAS DRIVING AND THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR 50 MILES UNTIL EMPTY, IT WASN'T EMPTY I JUST FUELED UP THE DAY BEFORE, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY GAS GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY....THEN IT READ FUEL SENSOR SO I TOPPED IT OFF, IT TOOK 8 GALLONS...THE FUEL SENSOR LIGHT WENT OFF BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON......NOW THE GAUGES DON'T WORK AT ALL.....
MY RAM 1500 BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION IN THE WINTER OF 2017 AND FINALLY STARTED TO WHERE IT WOULDN'T RAISE BACK UP WHEN IT WAS COLD. I HAD THE ENTIRE COMPRESSOR REPLACED JANUARY OR FEBRUARY OF 2018. NOW IN NOVEMBER OF 2018 I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AGAIN. THE COMPRESSOR IS MAKING A WEIRD NOISE AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE SUSPENSION SOUNDS LIKE IT'S RUBBING OR SOMETHING NOT GOOD. IT ONLY DOES THIS ONCE THE TEMPERATURE GETS IN THE 30S OR LOWER. ONCE IT GOES DOWN AND WON'T RAISE BACK UP THERE'S ONLY ABOUT A HALF INCH BETWEEN THE TIRE AND WHEEL WELL. NOT A CHEAP FIX AND DEFINITELY NOT WORTH KEEPING THE TRUCK IF THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN EVERY WINTER. WAS REPLACED AT MCHUGH DODGE JEEP IN ZANESVILLE, OHIO.

THE VEHICLE WAS EXAMINED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE MANIFOLD BOLTS BECAME DAMAGED AND SHEARED OFF DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE ENGINE MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST PIPES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (JAMES HODGE DODGE, 5100 SE LOOP 286, PARIS, TX) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. *TT VIN IS INVALID.*JB
. MY PICK-UP AVERAGED 24 PER GALLON BETWEEN LOCAL AND EXPRESSWAY DRIVING. EXPRESSWAY DRIVING ONLY (FOR EXAMPLE, TO NIAGARA FALLS IN 2015) AVERAGED 27 MILES PER GALLON. FOLLOWING REPLACEMENT OF SPARK PLUGS AND OIL CHANGE AND 2 FACTORY RECALLS MY PICK-UP LOST POWER AND COULD BARELY DO 20 MILES PER GALLON. THE ENGINE BECAME VERY LOUD. THE LONGER I DROVE IT, THE LESS MILEAGE I GOT -- THE ENGINE ALSO BEGAN HOWLING/WHISTLING AS I TRIED TO INCREASE SPEED. IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SPEED, I HAD TO CONSTANTLY PRESS MY FOOT TO EXCELERATE, EVEN GOING DOWN INCLINES. I HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY BRING MY PICK-UP BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP IN ST. CHARLES, ILLINOIS BECAUSE VARIOUS SYSTEMS BEGAN TO FAIL -- SAFETY BREAKS, FUEL RELATED BLACK BOX, DASHBOARD PANEL SIGNALS , ETC. I EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT THE STRESS ON MY TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE. EVENTUALLY, BY PROCESS OF ELIMIMATION, SERVICE DEPARTMENT REVISITED THE 2 RECALLS -- ONE OF WHICH WAS THE CRUISE CONTROL RECALL. WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN, THEY FOUND 6 LEAKS LOCATED ON THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. ANYTHING ABOVE 50-55 MPH IS DIFFICULT. I FEEL THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT CHANGE GEARS IN A TIMELY FASHION, AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. THE RPM IS VERY HIGH AND THE ENGINE REMAINS IN EXCERATION MODE EITHER TOO LONG OR, AT HIGHER SPEEDS, NEVER KICKS IN
IT HAS AN EXHAUST LEAK IN THE MANIFOLD DUE TO FAULTY BOLTS. I HAVE RESEARCHED IT AND TALKED TO MECHANICS, AND IT IS A WELL DOCUMENT PROBLEM WITH DODGE/RAM VEHICLES. I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT USED TO BE COVERED UNDER SOME WARRANTIES, BUT NOT ALL. IT IS OBVIOUSLY A VEHICLE DEFECT THAT DODGE/RAM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING.
Fuel Sensor Failure, sporadic. Causes check engine light to illuminate which causes vehicle to not perform optimally and runs in alternate mode - not eco. Also sporadic complete failure of fuel gauge displaying no fuel. Has become more frequent over time. Common problem with many Ram trucks
VEHICLE LOSES POWER RANDOMLY AND COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC, IN THE DRIVEWAY, AND WHILE TRAVELING DOWN A HIGHWAY AT 70MPH. IN THIRTEEN MONTHS THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN AND TOWED FOR REPAIR TO VARIOUS DEALERSHIPS SEVEN TIMES. THE FIRST FOUR TIMES IT WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP, IT WAS RELEASED TO ME WITHOUT REPAIR DUE TO THE DEALERSHIP BEING "UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE". THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM COMMERCE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCKEVITT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2700 SHATTUCK AVE #100, BERKELEY, CA 94705, 510-848-2206) WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND INDICATED THAT THE AIR BAG HAD FAILED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,611. THE VIN NOT AVAILABLE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHILE DRIVING AND LOSS OF POWER. AFTER BRINGING VEHICLE TO MECHANIC FOUND OUT MISFIRE CYLINDER #3. FAILED CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS AT 143,000 MILES. TOLD IS WAS A VERY COMMON ISSUE AT NO SPECIFIC MILEAGE. APPROXIMATELY $4,000 TO REPAIR
Heard engine ticking sound when vehicle had 65k around. It became more and more serious as the vehicle kept aging. On a day in May 2021, I finally figured the cause of ticking sound was the exhaust manifold leak. I brought the vehicle to dealership two days ago and they told me two exhaust manifold bolts on driver side were broken, and one exhaust manifold stud on passenger side was broken. Got bolts and studs replaced with providing MOPAR parts myself. Labor cost itself is $1,190.00 before tax and misc. charges.
