OUR '14 RAM 1500 WAS BOUGHT NEW ON 6/22/15. ON 8/9/15 OUR NEW 2014 DODGE RAM WAS PARKED ON A INCLINE IN A FRIENDS DRIVEWAY. MY WIFE AND SON GOT IN THE TRUCK, STARTED IT AND PUT IT INTO REVERSE TO LEAVE. AFTER MOVING ONLY A FEW FEET MY WIFE NOTICED THE HOSTESS COMING DOWN THE DRIVE TO SAY GOODBYE. SHE PLACED THE TRUCK IN PARK, GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN AND WALKED TO THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK. WHILE GIVING THE HOSTESS A HUG, HOSTESS EXCLAIMED YOUR TRUCK IS ROLLING AWAY. MY WIFE TRIED TO RUN BACK AND AROUND THE DOOR TO GET IN THE VEHICLE. BEFORE SHE COULD, THE OPEN DOOR TOOK DOWN TWO MAILBOXES AND 4X4 TIMBER POSTS THEY WERE MOUNTED ON AND OPENED THE DOOR BEYOND THE SPRING LIMIT PUSHING INTO THE FRONT FENDER AND POPPING OUT THE FRONT HEAD LIGHT. THE TRUCK ROLLED ACROSS THE STREET INTO THE NEIGHBORS YARD HITTING A POWER POLL WHERE IT CAME TO STOP. THE IMPACT TO THE POLL WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO PULL DOWN POWER LINES. UPON REACHING THE VEHICLE A MALE GUEST NOTED THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN PARK. MY 9 YEAR OLD WAS STILL STRAPPED INTO HIS SEAT BELT AND SIGNIFICANTLY SHAKEN UP THOUGH NOT INJURED. THE POLICE AND UTILITY COMPANY ARRIVED. THE OFFICER WROTE HIS REPORT UP AS VEHICLE MALFUNCTION. THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR SAID THE VEHICLE COULD BE DRIVEN IN ITS CONDITION. HE PULLED BACK THE DOOR TO AS CLOSE TO CLOSED AS POSSIBLE AND TIED CLOSED. THE REAR BUMPER AND TAILGATE ARE TRASHED. INSURANCE ADJUSTER HAS GIVEN PRELIMINARY ESTIMATE OF $8,900. THE POWER COMPANY HAS NOT CONTACTED US YET ABOUT THEIR SERVICE CALL. I GUESS VERY FORTUNATE THAT MY WIFE DID NOT MAKE IT AROUND THE DOOR AS SHE COULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED BETWEEN THE DOOR AND TWO MAILBOXES. ALSO THANKFUL THE THE TRUCK WENT STRAIGHT ACROSS THE STREET RATHER THAN TURNING AND GOING DOWN A LONG HILL. HAVE CONTACTED RAM AND WAS PROMISED AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD BE IN TOUCH WITHIN 3 DAYS. 4TH DAY AND STILL NO CONTACT!
TRAVELING WEST ON I-4, ORLANDO, FL BETWEEN SAND LAKE ROAD AND EXIT TO 528E AT 1:25 PM IN LEFT HAND LANE. AS I ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES TO THE RIGHT I ACCELERATED SLIGHTLY AND FELT A "THUMP" (THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT) THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE TRUCK SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND FISH TAILED. I LOST CONTROL FOR THAT INSTANT AND MY TRUCK STRUCK THE VEHICLE TO MY LEFT IN THE REAR BY THE TAIL LIGHTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF MY TRUCK AND PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS DID THE OTHER VEHICLE. MY COMPLAINT CENTERS ON WHY THE TRUCK SUDDENLY ACCELERATED; WHAT WAS THE "THUMP" THAT I FELT; IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION (NEW DESIGN FOR 2014) AND THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL; WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS SUDDEN ACCELERATION? HAVE THERE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE ON THIS OR OTHER CHRYSLER MODELS? PLEASE RESPOND ASAP.
WHILE NO ACCIDENT HAS OCCURRED, IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. THE UCONNECT SYSTEM EITHER BECOMES DISCONNECTED OR HAS A POOR RECEPTION WHILE DRIVING. IT IS VERY INCONSISTENT IN THE WAY IT PERFORMS. IT CREATES A SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE WHEN THIS OCCURS YOU NATURALLY ATTEMPT TO EITHER RECONNECT OR DISCONNECT FROM THE SYSTEM CREATING A SIGNIFICANT DISTRACTION. ATTEMPTS BY THE DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL.

AFTER NOTIFYING THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO BIG O DODGE IN GREENVILLE, SC 3 TIMES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM OF POWER LOSS. I HAVE TO GET A BOOST EACH TIME TO CRANK EACH DAY AND THE BATTERY IS GOOD.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED SEVERAL NOTIFICATIONS CONCERNING NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V460000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS), 15V459000 (AIR BAGS), 15V534000 (AIR BAGS), AND 17V302000 (AIR BAGS). THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE SUPPLIED TO RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO LOANER VEHICLE OPTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR A MONTH AND A HALF AND NOW IT IS SLAMMING INTO GEAR BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR. AT 30 MPH. AND THEN IT DOWNSHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN SLOWING! THIS IS A NIGHTMARE. IT IS ALSO VIBRATING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH THE FRONT END. I AM BRINGING IT BACK TO THE DEALER BUT IM SURE I WILL GET THE SAME ANSWER AS EVERYONE ELSE. THAT THERE IS NO SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY KNOW ABOUT IT. THERE IS A THREAD FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS TRUCK WAS NOT CHEAP AND I HAD A 93 FORD THAT DIDN'T DO THIS STUFF. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND THE MORE I READ ONLINE THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIX IT. SO ARE WE JUST SUPPOSE TO DRIVE AROUND THESE 30K PLUS TRUCKS WITH THIS ISSUE. THE MORE I LOOK INTO IT THIS IS ONLY ONE OF THE ISSUES BUT I WANTED TO LIST MY COMPLAINT AND WILL ALSO DO SO TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN. WISH I NEVER BOUGHT THIS TRUCK!!!!! THEY NEED TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION BECAUSE THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT THIS MORNING TOTALLING THE TRUCK AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WHY???
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. UPON ATTEMPTING TO FASTEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT, THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO FASTEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROCKY TOP CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (3315 WINFIELD DUNN PKWY, KODAK, TN 37764). THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER ADDED OIL TO THE SEAT BELT AND LATER AGREED TO REPLACE THE SEAT BELT AND BUCKLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
TODAY IS JULY 10, 2015. THE VEHICLE IS 2014 DODGE RAM 1500 CREW CAB PICKUP PURCHASE NEW. ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHERE THE HORN AND AIRBAG ARE LOCATED THE SEAM CRACKED OR SEPARATED STARTING JUST BELOW THE LETTER "S" STAMPED ON IT FOR SRS AIRBAGS AND IF YOU ARE SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND LOOKING AT THE WHEEL THE CRACK OR SEPARATION CONTINUES FROM THAT POINT AND RUNS STRAIGHT TO THE RIGHT AND UP TO THE END OF THE COVER FOR THE SRS AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN THE HORN IS PRESSED THE CASING WHICH IS CRACKED OR SEPARATED SCRATCHES YOU OR YOUR FINGERS GET STUCK OR CAUGHT INSIDE THE OPENING. THE DEALER STATED THAT BECAUSE THE MILEAGE IS OVER THE 3 YEAR 36000 MILE WARRANTY IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. HOWEVER, IF WE AGREED TO HAVE ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE DONE TODAY UNRELATED TO THE FREE OIL CHANGE THEY WOULD COVER THE COST TO REPAIR THE DEFECT. PLEASE NOTE THE DEALER CONFIRMED IT WAS A MANUFACTURED DEFECT. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THEM.
I WAS DRIVING ALONG ON ROUTE 220 NEAR LOCK HAVEN PA IN WHICH THEY ARE DOING CONSTRUCTION THERE IS UNEVEN PAYMENT POT HOLES ETC I WAS DOING 45 MPH AT THE TIME DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ZONE WHEN I HIT A POT HOLE I HEARD A LOUD POP NOISE SO I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER LOOKED AT MY TRUCK DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING SO I CONTINUED DRIVING APON ARRIVING AT MY HOME TEN MILE UP THE ROAD I NOTICED STEERING WAS FUNNY ONCE IN MY DRIVEWAY I LOOKED OVER MY TRUCK AGAIN TO MY SURPRISE I FOUND A CRACK ON THE KNUCKLE AT THE UPPER BALL JOINT THE KNUCKLE HAD CRACKED RIGHT AT THE UPPER BALL JOINT ON THE CASTING SEAM I CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T HEARD OF SUCH A THING AFTER HRS OF ARGUING WITH THEM TO FIX IT I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY HAD THE TRUCK FOR A WEEK AND TOLD ME IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY KEEP IN MIND I ONLY HAD THE TRUCK FOR 2-3 MONTHS AND IT SHOULD OF BEEN COVERED I KNOW DODGE HAS HAD ISSUES IN THE PAST WITH SUSPENSION PROBLEMS AND I FIND IT A GREAT CONCERN AS THIS COULD OF CAUSED A SERIOUS CRASH VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH DODGE AT THIS POINT I'D RATHER NOT EVEN KEEP THE TRUCK AS I FEEL IT'S NOT VERY SAFE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED AND SPUN AROUND. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FLIPPED AND ROLLED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER WERE INJURED AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
VEHICLE VIBRATES. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT 7 TIMES, AND NOW SAYS IT IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE RAM 1500. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE UPDATED AND THE EMC REQUIRED MULTIPLE UPDATES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,600. UPDATED 09/15/15*LJ UPDATED 10/31/2017*CN
RAM COMES OUT OF CAR WASH AND TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE IMMEDIATELY. HAVE TO STEP ON BRAKE MORE THAN ONCE TO ENGAGE. TOOK IT THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY CONCLUDED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL.
STEERING GEAR BOLTS BECAME LOOSE AT 28K MILES.
I WAS DRIVING IN A RAINY DAY AT 65 MPH I 81 SOUTH BOUND, WHEN I SUDDENLY SAW O LOT OF WATER ACCUMULATE IN THE ROAD AND THE RAIN GETS HARDER AND IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE I FELT LIKE MY RAM STARTED SPINNING, I HAVE HAD SOME EXPERIENCES WITH VIHECLES SLIDING BUT THIS TIME HAD NO CHANCE TO DO ANYTHING AND I ENDED HITTING THE CONCRETE WALL WITH THE FRONT OF MY VIHECLE. THE SEAT BELTS DIDN'T LOCK OUR BODIES TO THE SEAT PROPERLY AND THE AIRBAGS FAIL TO DEPLOY. MY WIFE AND I WHERE TAKEN TO ER THE X RAYS DIDN'T SHOW ANY FRACTURES BUT MY WIFE IS STILL ON PAIN.
VEHICLE HAS HAD A CONTINUAL VIBRATION/SHAKING SINCE NEW. THE TIRE HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE, BALANCED 8 TIMES, AND THE DIFFERENTIAL HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE FENDER FLARES HAVE ALSO BEEN REPLACED FOR DETACHMENT WITH THE THOUGHT THAT THEY MAY HAVE CAUSED THE SHAKING. I HAVE OPENED THREE CASES WITH FCA AND ASKED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPLACED. THE AREA SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THE DEALERSHIP DOES. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT IT MAY BE A SAFETY CONCERN THAT IS BEING AVOIDED BY FCA.
THE RAM ECODIESEL 3.0L TRUCK HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING, SHOWING A P20EE ERROR, REQUIRING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DIESEL EXHAUST SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION (SCR) AT UNDER 27,000MI THE DEALERSHIP I DEALT WITH WAS GREAT IN GETTING IT FIXED, BUT I AM CONCERNED THE NEW EXHAUST SCR THAT WAS INSTALLED WON'T LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE IF THE FIRST ONE ONLY LASTED A LITTLE OVER 26,000MI UNLESS THEY MADE A CHANGE AND/OR UPDATED THE PART THAT WAS INSTALLED ON MY TRUCK. I'M HOPING THE REPLACED PART WAS UPDATED BY RAM AND THE CAUSE OF THIS ERROR CORRECTED, BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN THIS INFORMATION AT THIS TIME.
THIS ACCIDENT IS ON VIDEO IF NHTSA WANTS TO REVIEW IT. THERE IS ALSO A CRASH DATA RETRIEVAL REPORT AND NUMEROUS PHOTOGRAPHS. TRUCK IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION BY NHTSA. THE TRUCK DRAMATICALLY VEERED OFF TO THE RIGHT (TRAVELING 75 MPH), STRUCK AND RICOCHETED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE GUARDRAIL, TRAVELED IN A DIAGONAL DIRECTION ACROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC, STRUCK LEFT GUARDRAIL, SMASHED DOWN AN EMBANKMENT, ROLLED 2.5 TIMES AND CAME TO REST IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANES. NOT ONE AIR BAG OR SIDE CURTAIN DEPLOYED. SEATBELT PRE-TENSIONER DID NOT ACTIVATE. DRIVER SUSTAINED BRAIN INJURY AFTER SMASHING HEAD ON STEERING WHEEL SO HARD, IT BENT THE STEERING WHEEL. FCA IS DENYING ALL RESPONSIBILITY DESPITE SENDING THEIR INVESTIGATORS TO DENVER, COLORADO TO INSPECT THE CAR. THE ORC MODULE MANUFACTURED BY BOSCH. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR THE OPPOSITE EVENT OCCURRING (AIR BAGS DEPLOYING FOR NO REASON). FCA REFUSED TO PULL THE VEHICLE'S ORC MODULE FOR FURTHER TESTING. DESPITE CLEAR EVIDENCE OF THE ORC NOT WORKING ( AS CONFIRMED IN DOWNLOADED CRASH DATA), FCA CONTINUES TO IGNORE THE FACT THAT THE ORC /AIRBAGS/SEAT BELTS HAVE A PROBLEM IN THIS MODEL/MAKE. THE AIRBAGS DO NOT DEPLOY WHEN THEY SHOULD. THERE IS ALSO EVIDENCE REGARDING FAULTY TIRE/AXLE/STEERING WHICH IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION BY PRIVATELY RETAINED ENGINEERS. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALED. I WAS DRIVING MY DODGE RAM 1500 FROM MILWAUKEE, WI TO MEMPHIS, TN ON A VACATION. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 80 MPH, I NOTICED A LOT OF SHAKING AND VIBRATING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL THRU THE ENTIRE CAB OF THE TRUCK. I NOTICED THE SAME THING WHEN DRIVING BACK HOME FROM MEMPHIS. I HAD TAKEN MY TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER AT AN EARLIER DATE, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY DIDN'T NOTICE ANY VIBRATING WHEN THEY DROVE THE TRUCK. THEY DID SHARE THAT THEY COULD NOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT EXCESSIVE SPEEDS, HOWEVER GAVE ME THE SAME INFORMATION IN MY LATEST COMPLAINT ON 7/23/2015. I SHARED MY CONCERNS PRIOR TO HEARING ABOUT THE CURRENT RECALL ON DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCKS AND HOPE THAT MY VEHICLE DOESN'T HAVE ANY SAFETY ISSUES THAT COULD LEAD TO INJURY.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE HOME FROM, AFTER HITTING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 65, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHIMMY, SIDE TO SIDE, AND CONTINUED AT A HIGHER SPEED. I CALLED THE DEALER, AND RETURNED THE TRUCK TO HAVE IT SERVICED, BUT IT DID NOT HELP. I WAS TOLD IT WAS FLAT SPOTS ON THE TIRES, AND TO GIVE IT SOME TIME. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY APPLIED AN UPDATE TO THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE RAN FINE FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS THAN STARTED LURCHING SLIGHTLY BETWEEN GEAR CHANGES. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN THEY RESET THE TRANSMISSION AND RELEARNED THE PROGRAMMING.THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT I SHOULD NO LONGER HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION. IT WORKED FINE FOR A DAY OR TWO AND IS NOW DOWN SHIFTING HARD AGAIN. APPARENTLY THERE'S NO WAY THAT THEY CAN FIX MY TRANSMISSION SO IT RUNS LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO. THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD HEAR THE RATTLE, AND WOULD FIX IT. THE FIRST 3 TIMES IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER, THEY SENT ME AWAY STATING THAT THEY CORRECTED THE ISSUE. ONCE I GOT BACK HOME, AND ENCOUNTERED BUMPY ROADS, THE RATTLE WAS STILL THERE. THE FOLLOWING 2 TIMES IT WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SENT ME AWAY STATING THAT THEY WOULD NOT WORK ON MY VEHICLE ANY FURTHER BECAUSE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING THE RATTLE. THEY HAVE RESEATED BOTH THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAGS, THEY TIGHTENED A WIRE HARNESS ON MY STEERING COLUMN, THEN THEY REPLACED MY STEERING COLUMN COUPLING, AND FINALLY THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO FIX. THEY STATED TO ME THAT THE KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE, BUT DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT. THIS ISSUE COULD VERY WELL BE A SAFETY ISSUE, AS IT HAS TO DO WITH MY STEERING SYSTEM. MY VEHICLE HAS 5000 MILES ON IT, AND HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER SHIP 5 TIMES. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE SHIFT POINTS AND IT WORKED SMOOTHLY FOR A FEW WEEKS. THEN IT STARTED SLIPPING AT 10 MPH. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CHECKED THE FLUID LEVEL FROM THE FILL PORT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN AND DISCOVERED IT WAS A QUART LOW FROM THE FACTORY. THIS IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN AND FORCES OWNERS INTO THREE OPTIONS ; 1. IGNORE THEIR TRANSMISSION.2. HAVE TO TAKE IT TO AN EXPENSIVE MECHANIC OR THE DEALER. 3.THIS IS WHERE IT CAN GET DANGEROUS, GET UNDERNEATH THEIR VEHICLE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING TO GET THE FLUID TO THE NECESSARY TEMPERATURE TO ACCURATELY CHECK IT. BEING ABLE TO CHECK SIMPLE THINGS LIKE FLUID LEVELS BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER A CROSS COUNTRY ROAD TRIP AND JUST AROUND TOWN IS VERY IMPORTANT. WITH ALL THE VOLUMES OF MOTOR VEHICLE REGULATIONS ON THE BOOKS I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS DESIGN WAS ALLOWED TO GO INTO PRODUCTION. ALSO, THE ROTARY SHIFT KNOB ON THESE 8 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS SEEMS LIKE A FATALITY WAITING TO HAPPEN. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION PAN IS CONSTRUCTED OF PLASTIC WITH THE FILTER BUILT IN TO THE PAN.

AFTER THAT FIRST EVENT, WE ENSURED THE WINDOWS WERE ALWAYS FULLY CLOSED IN ORDER TO SEE IF THERE WOULD BE ANY OTHER LEAK EVENT. HOWEVER FOLLOWING THE HEAVY RAIN WE HAVE HAD IN MAY IN HOUSTON, WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY WITHOUT MOVING FOR 4 WEEKS, CONDENSATION WAS NOTICED ON THE WINDSHIELD. ONCE OPENED THE CAR WAS MOLDY INSIDE ON REAR SEATS AND KIDS CAR SEATS, FLOOR CARPET, ETC... THE BACK SEATS ARE WET (WATER POURING FROM THEM) AND THE FLOOR CARPET IS WET INCLUDING UNDER BACK SEATS (ELECTRIC CABLING AREA). ALSO SEVERAL AREAS START SHOWING IMPRESSIVE RUST INCLUDING BELOW DRIVER SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL (PEDAL AREA). THE CAR IS BRAND NEW, BOUGHT 3 MONTHS AGO.

I THEN NOTICED SEVERAL LIQUID DROPLETS ON MY SEAT AND THE THE CORNER OF THE ROOF ABOVE THE SEAT WAS WET. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND NOTICED THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. SOME THAT HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE HAVE ADVISED THAT THE LEAK IS REPORTEDLY COMING FROM THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT ON THE CAB ABOVE THE REAR WINDOW. I HAVE ONLY NOTICED THE LEAK AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STATIONARY AFTER IT HAS RAINED. WITH THE RAIN RENDING THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT NON-FUNTIONAL I BELIEVE THAT THE WATER HAS DAMAGED THE WIRES MAKING THIS FIRE HAZARD AND MOST CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE.

WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW RAM 1500 FEBRUARY 27, 2015. WE'VE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIPS ATTENTION ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THE SAME THING EVERY TIME WHICH IS "YES WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM IS THEIR HOWEVER THERE IS STILL NO FIX ".THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 6 MONTHS. WHEN YOU BRING THE VEHICLE. TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT JUMPS OR SHIFTS AS IF IT'S TRYING TO JUMP INTO ANOTHER GEAR. WHEN YOU TRY TO DRIVE OFF IN THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE GIVES A HESITATION LIKE IT'S TRYING TO GO INTO A HIGHER GEAR BEFORE YOU EVEN PULL OFF. ON TOP OF THIS THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAVE 3 RECALLS ON IT. WE SHOULD NOT BE EXPERIENCING THIS WITH A BRAND NEW TRUCK. WE'VE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING THIS ISSUE BUT WE'RE NOT GETTING ANY RESULTS. THEY JUST KEEP SAYING WE'RE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THERE IS STILLL NOT A FIX. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME RESULTS! WE'VE BEEN GETTING THE SAME RESULTS FOR THE PAST 6 OR 7 MONTHS AND HAVE DECIDED TO CONTACT NHTSA, HOPING TO GET SOME RESULTS.
WITH AROUND 14000 MILES ON MY TRUCK I WAS DRIVING HOME AND WAS ALERTED THAT MY FRONT LEFT BLINKER WAS BURNT OUT, MOMENTS LATER I WAS NOTIFIED THAT MY RIGHT FRONT BLINKER WAS BURNT OUT. A FEW MILES DOWN THE INTERSTATE FROM THAT I WAS NOTIFIED THAT MY RIGHT FOG LIGHT HAD BURNT OUT. I WAS GOING TO TAKE MY TRUCK IN THE NEXT DAY (MONDAY MORNING). BEFORE HEADING TO THE DEALERSHIP I INSPECTED MY FRONT LIGHTS TO FIND THAT MY FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS OUT ALSO. I WAITED UNTIL THE SUN CAME UP AND PRIOR TO HEADING TO THE DEALERSHIP I CHECKED THE LIGHTS AGAIN. ALL WERE WORKING SO I DIDN'T TAKE MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP (MONDAY MID-MORNING). TUESDAY MORNING THE CYCLE REPEATED ITSELF GETTING NOTIFIED FIRST OF THE LEFT FRONT BLINKER, THEN THE RIGHT FRONT BLINKER, THEN THE FOG LIGHT. I SAW NO REFLECTION FROM THE TAIL LIGHT BLINKER AS WELL. MY TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP GETTING CHECKED. *TR
