The Eps light keeps randomly coming on. And goes off. The steering gets stiff and heavy randomly. When a mechanic looks at it everything is working fine like it should but once I get the truck back it will act up again randomly. Also Alpha warranty will not help fixing the issue.
During a routine oil change test drive, a code for Crankshaft Loss of Position appeared on my truck and as a result, the autoshop I took it to (a Kerry's Car Care) recommended that I do not drive it. This is an active Recall from the FCA from the NHTSA (Safety Recall W68 / NHTSA 20V-475 Loss of Crankshaft Position), but Dodge is insisting the recall was repaired (66A/NHTSA 23V-411) but only an update to the software as issued, without replacing the actual faulty part, the tone wheel. This problem was discovered and inspected by the Kerry Car Care, but I anticipate that Dodge Chrysler will deny the repair, even though it is a safety recall issued by the FCA. There were no signs of failure prior to the test drive done at Kerry's.
Frame is rusted out and front gas tank strap came out and gas tank came down
The vehicle turned off on the freeway and qould lnt start right after it came out from the dealership for a fuel pump cp4 installation recall, they said they misdiagnosed the issue with the truck on 4/23/26 930am from Bruce service advisor and mike the mechanic at rydell with my fuel pump off the truck. They said the gear that turns the fuel pump may have come loose That gear that turns the fuel pump does not turn, they showrd me. Also im thinking that the fuel pump seized and caused this issue. Why would the inner gear not work after yhis situatio
Power steering is intermittently working. It happens at different speeds. It makes it very difficult to steer and power steering will engage after executing a turn which will jerk the vehicle and wheel.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that occasionally, while driving at slower speeds, the vehicle failed to exceed 40 MPH with the accelerator pedal depressed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that a coolant flush was needed, the brake lights, and a camshaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
Was driving on the road while it was raining outside. As I turned a corner my power steering suddenly dropped out mid turn. Was able to fight to get of the road. It was accompanied with a service power steering system light on my dash. I shut the vehicle off and restarted it. It drove fine for a short bit and again loss power steering. The power steering light came on along with service electronic brake system, service trailer brake system, and my traction control light on the dash also came on. I managed to get to my destination without power steering. I have no recalls on my truck for this. I did have 2 codes when I was able to communicate with the module being U0155 and C2128. Most likely caused by water getting into a connector and shorting out.
ABS module broken and wheels spin when accelarating. This is not safe to drive

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The VIN and License plate were not available.
Hello, my name is [XXX] , and I had a recall performed on my 2016 Ram Eco Truck 3.0L (FCA US Recall ID 66A) at Dewey Dodge Chrysler Jeep in [XXX] , following a recall notice dated June 28, 2023. On March 17, 2026, while driving on the interstate, I experienced a sudden and severe loss of engine power, which nearly resulted in an accident; the dashboard displayed a "Service Electronic Throttle Control" warning, restricting my speed to around 40 miles per hour with low RPMs. I returned to Dewey Ram that same day and was informed the next day that I needed to replace the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel, which was quite expensive. I had assumed this issue was resolved during the previous recall, but the service department clarified that the recall only involved a software update and did not cover the tone wheel replacement. However, the repair description indicated that FCA US would conduct a voluntary safety recall to update the powertrain control module software or, in some cases, replace the tone wheel. Further investigation led me to Safety Recall W68 / NHTSA 20V-475 regarding the loss of crankshaft position, which I believe pertains to my truck based on its year, model, and circumstances. I shared this information with the dealership, but they stated they could not assist me since my VIN did not show any current recalls. I expressed my concern that the previous recall may not have been completed to the necessary standards to address the safety issue, but they advised me to contact Chrysler. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter. Thank you. I can be reached at [XXX] or by phone at [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My 2016 Ram 1500 (4th‑gen) has a severely rusted and failed front fuel tank strap bracket, causing the tank to sag. This matches the defect described in Recall U04 / NHTSA 18V‑160 for 2009–2012 Ram 1500 trucks, but my VIN is not included. I believe the same safety defect affects ALL rust belt 4th‑gen Ram 1500s and request that NHTSA investigate expanding the recall’s model‑year coverage.

The power assist has gone out. It became very hard to drive the truck. I was coming home from work when it happened. It’s obviously a danger to cause an accident, it’s very difficult to steer the truck. It has not been to the dealer or mechanic yet. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the incident. Yes it is available for inspection upon request. The problem continues today.
Hello, so I have had my vehicle in the shop for over 2 weeks due to a failure toner wheel and even though there is a extention recall for my vehicle there not covering it even after telling fca and the dealer about the issues. There saying they won't be able to reimburse me even though I just bought the truck through carvana about 5 months ago and haven't even driven it over 4k miles.
My Truck has less than 60,000 miles have paid for the extended warranty and now have a infamous ABS module failure which is very dangerous because now My Truck is my only source of transportation and being a senior citizen. This is a hazard for my only vehicle that I have. I have done my research and there are tons of complaints for this issue and it has not became a recall, which is very alarming and to top it off. I have always taken in the truck for Service to have it checked, and the dealer has never checked it and now that there’s no warranty now they say it is an issue so I need this to be fixed . This does also affect the driving of the vehicle and the stability and top of all the alarming issues on my dashboard. I am also the original owner of this vehicle.
ABS System failed when making a right hand turn. It cause my truck to fishtail into on coming traffic and wind up on the other side of the road going the opposite direction. We have not been to a dealership yet. Scared to drive it again. The traction control light and ABS light and brake lights are on all the time. No other warnings. The lights were on when I purchased the truck.
My truck lost power steering while driving, a red flashing light came on saying power steering, pulled off and could not turn wheel. Managed to get it to a shop close by and upon scan for codes it came up C2217-00 electric power steering and shop verified that my truck came up with a recall regarding this same issue but when I called a dodge dealership they said I had no open recalls yet needed to get it to their shop for their diagnostic.
My abs module has an error code and I can't find the part I need.
When putting on seat belt it won't stay secured, you have to constantly insert seat belt for it to stay, there's something wrong with it.
Fuel tank strap snapped off frame

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Factory Air Suspension on 2016 RAM Rebel V8 5.7L Right Front broken elbow How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The right front broken elbow is causing my entire rear end of truck to sag to near ground level, leaving the front up high. It is making for dangerous driving condition not only for the driver, but for others as well. Truck bottoms out on the slight bump on the highway making for unstable driving, front head light up high cause issues for other drivers in front of me. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Confirmed at Jim Click RAM, Tucson Auto mall , Tucson AZ. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership, but I am ready to go to my attorney, to get this fixed the right way. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? This broken $10 part (elbow) is causing the computer system to list multiple error codes for the air suspension. The dealership is telling me they cannot find the part anywhere in the United States and is on back order. They refuse to use a third party part and it must be an official Mopar part or they will not fix my vehiclle. Meanwhile I have to drive to work every morning and this broken air suspension will eventually damage the rest of my vehicle the longer it waits to be repaired the right way. Like I said above I am ready to sit with my attorney to discuss the matter and to track the progress for resolving this issue.
My power steering went out on my vehicle in mid January 2016. My temperature guage was also not working properly. I took it to my local Ram dealership to get it looked at. They drew up an estimate and I approved some repairs. My extended warranty covered majority of it. After picking up my vehicle, I noticed my steering wheel still had some resistance to it. I felt it shouldn't have that much resistance knowing the amount of work that just got done. My temperature gauge was still not the greatest. It never got directly into the middle of being the right temperature, but being off a bit maybe isn't the worst thing. I notice my temeperature and steering wheel icons light up when I start my vehicle, but researched and found that that is normal and it goes away after my vehicle is started. I called to make another appointment to be seen, but later cancelled it after learning the information about the icons and my steering wheel resistence loosened up and feels "normal" again. I just wanted to document my experience, as I learned there may be others with similar power steering issues and that there may be a class action lawsuit in the works. I have provided all the documentation I have according to my knowledge, and can provide more if need be.
I have a 2016 Ram 1500 p/u and it will let me shut key off without it being all the way in park and then it just rolls, rolled backward out of my driveway ran into parked car. I am able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal without a key in the ignition and when the vehicle is running causing it to stick in the open position and i can shift out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
I recently purchased this 2016 RAM 1500 from a family member. I was driving at highway speeds between 60-80 MPH in heavy rush hour traffic. The vehicle suddenly lost power & died at highway speeds. I was in the middle lane & almost crashed to the vehicle to my left & from behind as I intended to swerve to the median. Upon calling the dodge dealer from the side of the road, they confirmed that they had no available appointments to diagnose the issue for days, I had no control of the situation as i was stranded on the side of the road and needed to get the vehicle fixed, upon tow the the nearest diesel repair shop, it was diagnosed as a high pressure fuel pump and fixed at and out of pocket cost of $792.13. I was not aware this vehicle had an open recall (z46) as i just purchased it. Upon calling the dealer they informed the truck had a open recall, suggested I contact Mopar for reimbursement per there guidance. They directed me to the website. The claim was denied due to the fact that the work was not done at a certified RAM shop. I explained the circumstances to the case manager via email correspondence as this is the ONLY way they contact you to no outcome and a denial. . I was finally able to get an appointment with ram where the recall was fully addressed on there side. Mopar still refuses to cover the out of pocket expense even after I took it the dealership to get the recall done the way they requested it to be done.
Recall for intake manifold for our ecodiesel 2016 Ram and you do not show a recall for our specific truck. Which, GM service has verified we need to replace the intake manifold. Hesitation, drag, engine light, etc...
Reversing in our driveway, backing in with the trailer to store it. Backing up hill, the truck stopped moving. I applied additional pressure to the accelerator to get the truck moving again. The truck lurched backward suddenly enough that the rear tires broke traction loudly. Before I could stop the truck, the trailer struck the corner of the house, causing significant damage.
The front gas tank strap mount on the frame rusted to the point the new one I purchased falls out of the frame. Some Rams have the recall applied mine shows zero. I have a strap to hold the tank up temporarily but I need a permanent fix.
I just bought this 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 (VIN: 1C6RR7LT4GS299154) in June of 2025, and in December 2025, the ABS Control Module quit working causing my truck to be stuck in park. I had it towed to Grayling Car Care in Grayling Michigan (a licensed Dodge repair facility) who confirmed that the ABS Control Module was indeed the cause of my issues. I looked up the issue and found an active recall for that exact part for 2017 models and newer, but since my 2016 VIN wasn't listed in the recall because of the manufactured year, now I have been without a vehicle for 4 months and I am currently fighting with a dealership, my extended warranty company, and the repair shop(Grayling Car Care) trying to get this issue covered. The part on my truck that is currently waiting to be repaired is the exact same part number as the part number listed on the active recall. My extended warranty company doesn't want to cover the repairs since its a manufacture's defect/ issue, and the dealership won't cover it since the vehicle isn't currently covered by the recall. I know I am not alone in this, I live in a small town and all the repair shops in town (2 smaller repair shops and 2 dealerships) are all starting to have more Dodge Ram 1500's showing up daily with the same issues. 3 new trucks arrived at the same shop I took mine to in the last week alone. Can someone please help us with getting our vehicles fixed since we all have the same issues and the exact same parts as the one listed on the active recall?
The 3.0 eco diesel has a known defect involving the oil pickup tube clogging up with soot and diesel particles which then causes catastrophic damage to the engine and they blow up due to engine bearing failure which could lead to a safety issue while operating the vehicle on the roadways there are numerous videos online regarding this issue and it needs address and mopar needs to correct this and recall all the trucks and replace the engines and redesign the oil pickup tube to prevent the oil pickup tube from clogging up it’s unfair to the owners of the trucks and so many of the trucks are being scrapped due to the engine failure issues new engines cost $11-$18,000 to replace

ABS Module failure, Brake warning light on, ABS warning light on and unable to use cruise control
The common hemi tech where lifter bearing seize up and eats the come. So common you can buy top end rebuild kits just for tha reason.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unexpectedly sputtered and then lost motive power, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed. The mechanic stated that an error code was present, but had not provided the code to the contact. The contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired at that time. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The approximate failure mileage was 216,000.
Electric Power Steering has stopped working completely. A service Power steering warning has popped up on the dashboard.
The ABS warning light is on. I took the vehicle to the dealership, and they advised that it is safe to continue driving.
Steering wheel locks up when cold
failure of ABS control module. This disables anti lock brake system, traction control & cruise control. There are hundreds of this modules on back order. Not one of parts suppliers have this part & do not know when they will be available. I reached out to corporate & they don't either
Service power steering light comes on and steering wheel doesn’t move when car is cold. Turn car off and restart and is fine with no lights.
I was attempting to make a left hand turn when my power steering failed. Continued to be out for several more minutes of driving and then it restored itself. Has not been a problem while driving the vehicle today.
Power steering quit while driving. Electric Power Steering unit faulty from factory.
My abs, traction control, trailer brake lights are on. Error code C2200-49. What is worse; there are no parts! As I tow a camper it is a serious issue! I cannot understand why this issue is common with this vehicle but ram doesn’t have remedy. (Rebuild option or shock- have someone make spare parts for it) I will be forced to fix it myself with junk yard parts. Why is it so hard to get competent designers when the trucks have been made for 20 years or more. If they would standardize more on parts and quit changing things every year maybe we could get better and safer vehicles. And spare parts may be easier to get.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 55-60 MPH, the ABS warning light was illuminated, and the contact decelerated to 40 MPH and drove a mile. The contact stated that the passenger's side front end made an abnormal sound and collapsed, and the contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact then noticed that the front passenger's side tire had detached, the brake lines were leaking, and the front axle was fractured. And there was fire underneath the passenger's side front end of the vehicle. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. It was unknown whether a fire department report was filed. The police officers arrived at the scene, but it was unknown whether a report was filed. The vehicle was pulled to James Towing mechanic shop, where it was diagnosed that the front passenger's side wheel bearing had failed and caused the wheel to detach. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 185,000.
The ABS control module has faulted and the ABS, Traction Control, and Cruise Control are off making them all inoperable, even though the truck is still able to be drive, albeit unsafely. There is a national backorder of parts and the units are no longer being manufactured.
2016 Ram 1500. Abs system malfunction. Brakes lock up randomly. Abs, brake light, traction control light come on randomly causing brake issues. Very dangerous. Called multiple dealerships. No control module available. No date for part to be available. This is huge safety issue and Ram/fiat are not seeming to care. No sense of urgency from any of the dealerships or manufacturer. Lawsuit could be happening sense this is huge safety problem. Code c2200-49
ABS light, traction control and brake light are on. Took to shop, said ABS control module is suspect. Took to dealer said it is a known problem, part is unavailable, continue driving as is.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V632000 (AIR BAGS), but the failure occurred.
