Rear back window leaking,causing water to fill floor boards with water.Noticed over time mold in areas of the truck. Cleaned, FCA said no recall for this problem. Many 2019-2020 trucks like mine. Have this issue Rear cabin brake light leaks,cabin vent leaks and rear back window leaks. Just passing this information on.

REAR WINDOW LEAK THAT LET MOSITURE IN MY VEHICLE AND SOAKED MY HEADLINER
WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK, THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF SHATTERED. THE COVER WAS CLOSED DURING THIS TIME. I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 35-40 MPH, WITH THE TEMPERATURE AROUND 85-90. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON AN OPEN ROAD WITH NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WERE NO OTHER DEBRIS FROM THE VEHICLE, EXCEPT FOR THE SHATTERED GLASS. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE RAM DEALERSHIP WHERE I AM WAITING FOR REPAIRS. AT THIS TIME, THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT SAYING WHETHER IT WILL BE COVERED BY WARRANTY OR IF I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 70 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL, THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING ODOR AND DISCOVERED THROUGH THE REARVIEW MIRROR THAT THERE WAS BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED HE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND GOT OUT THE VEHICLE. THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE HOOD AND THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE CAME TO THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME ON THE SCENE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOWING LOT WHERE THEN THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION AND DEEMED IT DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
THIS VEHICLE SUSTAINED A DRIVERS SIDE IMPACT TO THE DOORS AND THE SIDE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD AND WAS STRUCK BY A BOX TRUCK IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR AREA. I have had radio issues since Mid 2020 on my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn. I have gone to the dealer and they have updated the software. It was good for a short, SHORT, time and then the issue continued. At the end of November of 2020, my battery went bad for a second time. I took it in to the dealer because the radio was not working again and this time they ordered a new radio. The maps system would show my 250 miles to the East Southeast. I live in Wichita, KS and it would have me in a field outside of Tulsa, OK. The radio would display also the same message that “dive not supported”. I finally got a replacement radio and the maps worked but the display immediately went back to “device not supported.” I went back into the dealership and they contacted Mopar once again and the service person told me that an update was coming in the spring of 2021. I have contacted the dealership and “US Customer Care | uscustomercare@fcagroup.com" by the installed help system multiple times and I have received one replay but was told at each phone contact that someone would be contacting me to followup. No one has ever returned a call for a follow-up. I would like my radio back and to be able to use it like it was purchased to function. It is a distraction to use since it also controls the air conditioning and the heat functions as well as hands-free for my phone. Please look into this matter and PLEASE keep me updated on it. It is a hazard and needs to be repaired properly

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM OF VACAVILLE (681 ORANGE DR, VACAVILLE, CA 95687), AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,670.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ARRIGO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM SAWGRASS (5901 MADISON AVENUE, TAMARAC, FL 33321, (954) 379-2040) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES HOWEVER, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE DEALER, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE DRIVESHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DRIVESHAFT WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V324000 (POWER TRAIN) THAT WAS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,000.
I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WHEN TAKING A LEFT HAND BEND AT MODERATE SPEEDS 40 TO 70 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT RETURN TO CENTER WITHOUT CONSIDERABLE EFFORT ON THE DRIVERS PART. WHEN FORCING THE WHEEL BACK TO CENTER THE VEHICLE WILL JERK TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE MILEAGE IS 6500 AND HAS BEEN OPERATING THIS WAY SINCE I ACQUIRED THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FOWLER DODGE IN OKC AND THEY SAY THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND MADE NO REPAIRS. I ROTATED THE TIRES THINKING THIS MAY REMEDY THE PROBLEM, BUT DID NOT. RIGHT HAND BENDS ARE NOT AFFECTED ONLY WHEN NAVIGATING A LEFT HAND BEND. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND WHERE THE SAME COMPLAINT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE NHTSA AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS YEAR RAM 1500 FOR POWER STEERING ISSUES AND I FEEL THIS IS PART OF THE SAME ISSUE. I AM NOT AWARE IF A ERROR CODE COMES ON AS I AM TO BUSY WATCHING THE ROAD. THE ISSUE HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHENEVER NEGOTIATING A LEFT HAND BEND. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the center display screen failed to turn on upon starting the vehicle or while driving. The contact also stated that the rearview camera failed to activate while the vehicle was in reverse. The contact stated also that the forward collision chime would engage while driving with no vehicles nearby. Additionally, the contact stated that the check engine warning illuminated intermittently and the engine made abnormal sounds while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact also stated that the RPM was malfunctioning. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V407000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts) which the dealer associated with the failure. The dealer completed the recall repair dealer however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF WARWICK (185 NY-94, WARWICK, NY 10990 (845) 986-2021) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000.
THE AIR DAM WILL NOT EXTEND DOWN AFTER REACHING THE REQUIRED SPEED, THUS THROWING A CEL. BELIEVE THE MOTOR IS STICKING OR GASKET/SEALS ARE DRIED AND WON'T TURN THE SHAFT TO RELEASE THE DAM.
1ST PROBLEM....STEERING COLUMN RATTLES LOUDLY IN-BETWEEN 45 AND 60 MPH AND AT SPEEDS BELOW 10MPH. TRUCKS FRONT END GRINDS WHEN MAKING SLOW SPEED RIGHT HAND TURNS. ALSO TRUCK LURCHES, GRINDS AND RATTLES THE ENTIRE FRONT END SLOWING DOWN OR BACKING UP AT SLOW SPEEDS....THIS HAPPENS WHEN BRAKES ARE NOT BEING APPLIED. SOMETIMES WHEN I DRIVE THE TRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL STAYS OFF CENTER TO THE RIGHT AND PULLS VERY HARD TO THE RIGHT. CHRYSLER SAYS IT POSSIBLE THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING RACK BUT THEY DONT HAVE A FIX. GETS WORSE ALMOST EVERY DAY. 2ND PROBLEM....I HAVE NOTICED THE TRUCK HAS MARKS WHERE THE KNUCKLE AND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ARE HITTING EACH OTHER. I UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR STEERING STOPS BUT THESE ARE NOT STEERING STOP HITS. THESE PARTS ARE STRUCTURAL PARTS OF THE TRUCK THAT ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HIT. BOTH SIDES ARE DOING THIS AND I DO NOT FEEL THE TRUCK IS SAFE WITH THIS ISSUE AND IT HAS CAUSED STRESSED AREAS ON THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK. THIS COULD CAUSE PARTS TO FAIL AND HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES AT ANY SPEED THE TRUCK IS GOING IF THEY DECIDE TO FAIL. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES AND WAS JUST DROPPED OFF AGAIN TODAY. THEY SAID THEY MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE PARTS THAT ARE HITTING...BUT THEY ARE THE SAME PARTS AND IT WILL DO THE SAME EXACT THING AGAIN. THEY GAVE ME A 2019 RAM TO DRIVE AS A LOANER AND THIS TRUCK DOESNT HAVE THE AIR SUSPENSION LIKE MINE DOES. I INSPECTED UNDER THE TRUCK AND FOUND THE SAME EXACT ISSUE ON THIS TRUCK. I BELIEVE CHRYSLER HAS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS THAT STARTED WITH THE DESIGN AND THEY ARE NOT TAKING CARE OF THE ISSUE. I HAVE A $62,000 DOLLAR TRUCK I DO NOT FEEL IS SAFE AND I AM NOT GETTING ANSWERS TO CORRECT THESE ISSUES. THE DATE BELOW IS ESTIMATED WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST TIME. THE DOOR LOCKS HAVE HURT ME TWICE NOW. THE LEDGE OF THE DOOR IS A TOTALLY NORMAL PLACE TO REST YOUR ARM. ONCE WE GET GOING THEY AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND PINCH THE HECK OUT OF ME LEAVING BROKEN SKIN AND BRUISING. *TR

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, IN MAY 2020, I RENTED A 2019 DODGE RAM TO FACILITATE A MOVE FROM ILLINOIS TO FLORIDA. 8 HOURS INTO THE JOURNEY, THE VEHICLE ERUPTED INTO FLAMES, NEARLY KILLING MY SON, FIANC, MYSELF AND OUR PUPPY. FORTUNATELY, SOMEONE DRIVING BEHIND US FLAGGED US DOWN WHEN THEY NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. WE WERE ABLE TO SAFELY ESCAPE, CALLED 911, THEN HAD TO WATCH AS ALL OF OUR PERSONAL EFFECTS AND SOME VALUABLES WERE DESTROYED BY FIRE. THAT WAS ON MAY 31, 2020, INSPECTIONS WERE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, WITH RAM BEING ONE OF THE PARTIES INVOLVED IN THE INSPECTION PROCESS. UNFORTUNATELY, THE INSPECTORS WERE UNABLE TO DEFINITIVELY SAY WHAT HAPPENED, ALTHOUGH THEY THEORIZED THAT THE REAR, DRIVERS SIDE CALIPER MAY HAVE SEIZED UP, RESULTING IN THE FIRE. EITHER WAY, NOTHING WE COULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY. WHILE I AM RELIEVED THAT WE WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE HARM, IT'S UPSETTING THAT ALL OF OUR KEEPSAKES, PERSONAL EFFECTS AND SOME VALUABLES WERE DESTROYED. TO ADD TO THE HEARTBREAK, WE HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM ANYONE ACTING ON BEHALF OF RAM. CONSIDERING THE NEAR MISS WE SUFFERED, I WOULD THINK THAT RAM WOULD SHOW SOME COMPASSION AND REACH OUT TO US. VERY DISAPPOINTING, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A DODGE AFFILIATED VEHICLE (AGAIN) IN MY LIFE.
WIFE WAS IN A WRECK ON INTERSTATE WHERE SHE BOUNCED OFF A BARRICADE AND THE OTHER TRUCK ALSO 2019 RAM STRUCK HER TWICE,NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. BRAKES SQUEAL WHEN SLOWING DOWN FROM 45 MPH+ DOWN TO AROUND 20-25 MPH. AT LOWER SPEEDS, THE SQUEAL STOPS. HAPPENS WHEN GOING FORWARD. DOES NOT SEEM TO HAPPEN RIGHT AWAY, ONLY AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES OR MORE. DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM BUT IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE TRUCK. *TR
I WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH A CHEVY CAR. THIS WAS THE OTHER DRIVERS FAULT AS HE COME INTO MY LANE (WHILE TAKING AN ILLEGAL LEFT). THE CAR IS TOTALED AND MY RAM 1500 HAD CLOSE TO $14,000 IN DAMAGES. IT IS STILL IN THE AUTO BODY GETTING REPAIRED. BOTH THE FRAMES ARE BENT. DURING THIS ACCIDENT, NONE OF MY AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED AND THIS SHOCKED ME. MY BODY MOVED BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY DUE TO THE COLLISION AND ABSOLUTELY NOT ONE AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM INSTALLED IN MY TRUCK IS FAULTY OR DESIGNED INCORRECTLY AND NHTSA MUST INVESTIGATE. GOING FORWARD, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE AS I AM NOT CONFIDENT THAT THE AIRBAGS WILL BE DEPLOYED. I'VE ATTACHED FEW PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE. WE HAD TO PULL THE ENTIRE FRONT BUMPER FROM THE FRONT LEFT TIRE ALMOST 12 INCHES AS IT WAS DEEPLY WEDGED INTO THE TIRE AND WE COULD NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE FOR TOWING. PLEASE HELP. HIT A GUARD RAIL HEAD ON AT 60 MPH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RESTRAIN ME .CONTACTED FCA . WAS TOLD IT WAS WITHIN REGULATIONS
THE A/C IN THIS VEHICLE IS TERRIBLE, AND FCA FAILS TO RECOGNIZE THE ISSUE. *TR
DRIVING TRUCK AND CHECK ENGINE / WARNING LIGHT CAME ON STATING THAT STOP / START SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE SERVICE NEEDED. CONTACTED DEALER AND TOOK IN FOR SERVICE. BY THE TIME I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER THE SYSTEM RESET AND WARNING WAS NO LONGER IN SYSTEM LOGS. DEALER STATED THAT SINCE WARNING WAS NOT ACTIVE IN SYSTEM THEY COULD NOT CHECK MESSAGE AND THEREFORE COULD NOT REPAIR. SAME ISSUE OCCURRED 2 WEEKS LATER AND RESOLVED ITSELF AGAIN. I AM NOW DRIVING TRUCK WITH OUT USING THE START / STOP SYSTEM.
STARTED THE VEHICLE LAST NIGHT AND GOT AN ALERT THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS UNAVAILABLE. POWER STEERING IS NOT WORKING. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. *TR
SPEEDOMETER AND ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STOPPED WORKING, WIPERS STARTED WORKING, TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT. MESSAGE ON CLUSTER STATED TO GET WHERE YOU'RE GOING AND DON'T TURN ENGINE OFF OR IT MAY NOT RESTART. DRIVEABILITY WAS GREATLY REDUCED, POWER STEERING SEEMED TO BE LESS EFFECTIVE. ERROR AND WARNING MESSAGES FROM ALL THE ELECTRONIC MODULES FLASHED ON THE DRIVER DISPLAY IN SEQUENCE. DEALER STARR MOTORS OF SUFFOLK, VIRGINIA INDICATED THAT WITHOUT AN ACTIVE CONDITION THEY CANNOT TROUBLESHOOT AND REPAIR SO THEY SENT US BACK OUT ON THE ROAD WITH THIS VEHICLE. ERROR CODE U1817 IS DISPLAYED AS A NON-ACTIVE HISTORICAL DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE. HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD SEEMED TO TRIGGER MOMENTARY RETURN OF CLUSTER FUNCTIONALITY, WITH A RETURN TO NON-FUNCTIONALITY SHORTLY THEREAFTER.
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT STITCHING CAME UNDONE. WHEN SEAT BELT WAS PUT ON AND TIGHTENED DOWN SEAT BELT CAME THRO BOTTOM ATTACHMENT POINT. TOOK VEHICLE TO LANDMARK DODGE WAS INFORMED BY SERVICE TECH THERE THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, DUE TO TRUCK BEING OVER 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN TURN COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. WHILE STILL IN DRIVE WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OFF THE ROAD EVERYTHING WAS STILL ON A.C. SHUT OFF BUT POWER WAS STILL ON.
THE INFORMATION SYSTEM IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DOES NOT WORK OR WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE A $1400.00 REPAIR BUT THE SYSTEM STARTED WORKING AGAIN WHEN THE MECHANIC BROUGHT THE TRUCK AROUND FOR ME TO LEAVE. IT HAS WORKED OFF AND ON SINCE THEN. IT'S A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND NO GUARANTEE IT WILL NOT FAIL AGAIN. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO PATTERN OF WHEN THE INFORMATION SYSTEM WILL QUIT.
Experience: Ongoing issue and reproducible each time driving. Notice "stuck" feeling in steering at speeds over 45mph. "Stuck" feeling consistently reproduced while at highway speeds making left bend, left lane change, or slight left turn. Problem consistently occurs between 10 and 11 o'clock angle. Problem occurs occasionally with right bends, lane changes, and turns. Problem was experienced immediately at purchase of the vehicle (34K miles) but not fixed until 47k miles. Safety Concern: Problem occurs at high speeds and jerking the steering wheel to correct for the "stick" could lead to overcorrection or slippage, especially in poor weather conditions. Unsafe in dense traffic. Dealer: Dealer identified the issue with the rack and pinion. Dealer said "found rack to have internal fault replaced and set toe cn". Dealer mentioned there was an electrical short in the rack and pinion causing the "stick". Inspection: No inspection made by anyone other than the dealership.
AFTER REMOTE STARTING THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES, I GOT IN THE TRUCK AND HIT THE START/STOP BUTTON AND REVERSED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. AS I BACKED OUT ON TO THE STREET, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE CAR SHIFTED ITSELF BACK TO PARK. I STARTED IT AGAIN AND AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS, THE CAR TURNED ITSELF OFF AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES. FINALLY IT STAYED ON AND I DROVE 6 MILES TO WORK. WHEN I GOT TO WORK, I HIT THE START/STOP BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF AND IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THE CAR TURNED OFF BY ITSELF. I STARTED IT AGAIN AND IT TURNED OFF AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS. STARTED WITH TELLING ME MY TIRE WAS FLAT. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS DANGEROUS AND THE TIRE WAS FULL OF AIR. THEN TOLD ME ELCECTROIC BRAKES NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. NOT TOO LONG AFTER THAT IT KEPT TELLING ME THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS NOT WORKING. I HAVE NEVER PUT THE TRUCK IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. ALSO THE ABS SERVICE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP 4 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND THEY TOOK IT INTO THEIR SHOP AND 'FIXED' IT IN A FEW MINUTES. VERY NEXT DAY EVERYTHING STARTED AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE KEPT IT OVER THE WEEKEND. WHEN I CALLED THEM AT LUNCH ON FRIDAY TELLING THEM I WAS BRINGING IT BACK THEY ASKED ME TO WAIT TIL NEXT WEEK TO BRING IT. THIS IS THEIR SECOND CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I BOUGHT A TRUCK BECAUSE I HAVE A SMALL FARM AND I NEED IT TO FEED AND WATER MY ANIMALS. THEY HAVE HAD TO GO WITHOUT WATER ONE DAY BECAUSE I HAVEN'T HAD MY TRUCK 3 OUT OF THE FIRST EIGHT DAYS AFTER BUYING IT. STEERING MAKE LOUD NOISE WHEN TURNING STATIONARY AND MOVING AND VIBRATES STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY CONFIRMED PROBLEM. STATED THEY ARE WAITING ON RAM TO GET FIX. IT HAS BEEN OVER 5 MONTHS AND ENGINEERING DOES NOT COME UP WITH FIX. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO NATIONAL RAM TO NO HELP.

TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR WARRANTY, THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A PINION BEARING GOING BAD LIKELY CAUSE WAS FROM LOW FLUIDS. RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM FOUND FCA ( HAD A RECALL ( SAFETY RECALL U88 / NHTSA 18V-556 REAR AXLE FLUID LEVEL - 2018-2019 RAM 1500)ON SIMILAR YEAR AND MODEL TRUCK BUT DID NOT INCLUDE MY VIN NUMBER. FCA ADVISED ME TO CONTACT THIS AGENCY TO SEE IF I CAN INCLUDE MY VIN.
VEHICLE HAS A "SHIMMY" AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS HAVE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND AGREE THAT THERE IS A "SHIMMY" BUT CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED, REPLACED. NOTHING MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. ONE EVENT WAS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY APPROVED SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE VEHICLE'S POWER STEERING STOPPED OPERATING SUDDENLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON A CURVE. THE VEHICLE WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANUALLY STEER TO A SAFE LOCATION IN TRAFFIC. NEXT TWO EVENTS HAPPENED AT THE START OF THE DAY SHORTLY AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE. A MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED ON THE PANEL "SERVICE POWER STEERING". THERE IS NO POWER STEERING FUNCTIONING WHEN THIS ERROR IS DISPLAYED. WITH EACH EVENT THE NEARBY SERVICE CENTER FOR THE MANUFACTURER HAS NEEDED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE DAYS TO WORK WITH THE MANUFACTURER ON A SOLUTION. ON ANOTHER ISSUE THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD OR REVERSE ON FIRST DELIVERY (WITHIN 100 MILES) AND AGAIN AROUND 2500 MILES. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR AND NEEDED THE SERVICE CENTER TO REPROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION TO MAKE IT WORK.
MY WINDSHIELD HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. IT IS DUE TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. IT APPEARS TO HAVE STRESS FRACTURES. I HAD A VERY SMALL PEA SIZED PEBBLE HIT IS AND IT CAUSED A CRACK THAT LOOKED AS THOUGH IT WAS GOING TO COME THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD.
I WAS IN A MAJOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN WHERE I FELL ASLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL. AS A RESULT I SWERVED RIGHT, COLLIDED WITH 20-30 FT OF GUARD RAIL AND ROLLED AT LEAST 2 TIMES. I DON'T REMEMBER A THING SINCE I RECEIVED A MAJOR CONCUSSION FROM SLAMMING MY HEAD INTO THE STEERING WHEEL AT IMPACT. HAD MY AIRBAGS WORKED, I WOULDN'T HAVE A MASSIVE SCAR ON MY FOREHEAD, I WOULD BE ABLE TO DEFEND MYSELF IN COURT BECAUSE I MAY HAVE MEMORY OF THE ACCIDENT. IN APRIL THE TRUCK WHILE ENGAGING THE CRUISE WOULD SPEED UP ABOVE CRUISE SET OR JUST TURN OFF WITHOUT BREAKING. THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V556000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,000.
FIRST, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR. THE NEXT DAY I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES TO WORK AND WHILE TRYING TO PARK THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS TO PARK (P). THEN WHILE TRYING TO ENGAGE THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE (D) OR REVERSE (R) THE AUTO PARK SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED AND THE CAR IS UNABLE TO MOVE. I SUSPECT IT IS A FAULTY TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. 2019 RAM 1500 WAS PURCHASED NEW (WITH 28 MILES) ON 23 OCTOBER 2019.
EVERY DAY WHEN DRIVING THE TRUCK FOR THE FIRST TIME. TRUCK HAS SAT FOR MORE THAN 5 HOURS AND IS COOL (70 DEGREES) AS I LEAVE MY COMMUNITY DRIIVING 25 MPH, I STOP AT THE FIRST STOP SIGN. DURING SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS AND SURGES FORWARD. MANY TIMES DURING THIS SURGE THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL AND THE SCREEN INSTRUCTS ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND THEN BACK IN TO DRIVE. IT MAKES IT DANGEROUS IF THERE IS TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE TRUCK ALWAYS SURGES WHEN STOPPING AND POPS OUT OF GEAR AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ADDRESSED BY UPDATING DRIVE TRAIN SOFTWARE . SINCE REPAIR IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND DEALER INSISTS THEY CAN'T REPLICATE. I HAVE PROVIDED A VIDEO SHOWING THE TRUCK POPPING OUT OF GEAR AT A STOP SIGH.
