THIS TRUCK HAS HAD POWER STEERING SYSTEM CEASE TO FUNCTION 2 TIMES IN 3 WEEKS,ON OR ABOUT 9-1-18 WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON POWER STEERING WOULD NOT OPERATE,VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER,DEALERSHIP HAD TRUCK FOR 1 WEEK,SAID IT WAS FIXED.TODAY,9-22-2019 WHILE LEAVING HOME AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN,WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON POWER STEERING FAILED AND TRUCK WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER,WHILE TRYING TO MAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP,POWER STEERING WOULD COME BACK ON AND GO RIGHT BACK OFF MAKING CURVES AND TURNS VERY DIFFICULT.
WHILE DRIVING CORNERING LEFT OR RIGHT STEERING WHEEL HOLDS POSITION WHEN RELEASED WILL NOT STRAIGHTEN OUT YOU HAVE TO FIGHT STEERING TO STRAIGHTEN THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE TURN DEALER SAID NOTHING IS WRONG THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING BROWN'S CHRYSLER DODGE IN MEDFORD NEW YORK THIS HAPPENS AT ANY SPEEDS
PURCHASED 2019 RAM 1500 AROUND 9/8/2018 ONE WEEK AFTER HAVING IT THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED STICKING ONLY WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SINCE THEN THE PROBLEM HAS GREATLY INCREASED. THIS DOES IT AS STATED ON SWEEPING TURNS ON THE INTERSTATE OR HIGHWAY SPEEDS ONLY. I HAVE TO JERK THE STEERING WHEEL BACK TO THE RIGHT IN A HARD MOTION TO GET THE TRUCK GOING BACK STRAIGHT AFTER THESE TURNS. THIS IS SCARY AND CAUSES THE TRUCK TO SWAY AT SUCH SPEEDS. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE STEERING HOWEVER THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. IT IS CURRENTLY IN ITS 4TH TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 9 MONTHS WITHOUT BEING CORRECTED. IT IS TO THE POINT I HAVE PARKED THE TRUCK AS I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN DRIVING IT.
/PURCHASED NEW 2019 RAM 1500 LIMITED . TOOK DELIVERY 08/30/2018 AND DINT GET OFF THE LOT DUE TO VEHICLE ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AND THEN MULTIPLE SAFETY LIGHTS CAME ON. SERVICE THEN ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR BY REPLACING THROTTLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY DUE TO THROTTLE VOLTAGE CODE. PICKED UP TRUCK 09/06/2018 AND WHILE DRIVING 09/07/2018 JUST OVER 24 HRS LATER TRUCK THEN STARTED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC NEARLY CAUSING SEVERE ACCIDENT. MULTIPLE DASH LIGHTS ON WITH WARNINGS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD PLACED IN PARK THEN BACK IN DRIVE STILL WANTED TO ACCELERATE ON OWN . TURNED VEHICLE OFF THEN RESTARTED CHECK LIGHT STILL ON BUT NO LONGER WANTING TO ACCELERATE ON OWN. RETURNED VEHICLE TO DEALER UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT ISSUE. LESS THAN 200 MILES ON NEW TRUCK. *DT *DT*JB ..*BF.. FCA'S ARBITRATOR HAS DENIED CONSUMERS LEMON LAW CLAIM.*JB
VEHICLE IN A LEFT HAND TURN OVER 30 MPH WILL NOT CORRECT ITSELF AND HAS TO BE MANUALLY CORRECTED OR THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TURNING LEFT. RAM ACKNOWLEDGES THE PROBLEM BUT NO SOLUTION AS OF THIS DATE DECEMBER 1, 2019. RAM RAPID RESPONSE TEAM STATED "IF CUSTOMER MAINTAINS CONTACT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL THEIR IS NO SAFETY ISSUE."
THE STEERING WENT OUT DUE TO A PCM FAILURE. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE PCM SHUT DOWN THE STEERING DUE TO SENSING TOO MUCH VOLTAGE FROM GENERATOR TO PROTECT THIS UNIT. I WAS TRAVELING ON US HIGHWAY 400 AT 50MPH WHEN IT WOULD NOT STEER LEFT OR RIGHT. IT WOULD ONLY GO STRAIGHT. I FEEL THAT RAM NEEDS TO PUT SOMETHING ELSE IN LINE SO THAT STEERING IS NOT SHUT OFF IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN.
WHEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT ONE HOUR WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT THE STEERING STICKS AND I HAVE TO MANUALLY BRING IT TO CENTER. IT WILL NOT RETURN TO CENTER UNLESS I TURN IT TO THE RIGHT. ITS ENTERTAINMENT AND IVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP MENY TIMES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY LOSE CONTROL BY OVERCOMPENSATING FOR IT. I HAVE HAD ALL THE UPDATES AND RECALLS PERFORMED ON THE TRUCK BUT NOTHING HAS RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. DOGE NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUES ASAP.
TEST DRIVE AT VEHICLE PURCHASE, AND EVERY DRIVE THEREAFTER. VEHICLE MAKES A CYCLIC HARMONIC NOISE/VIBRATION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ON ALL SURFACES. NOISE IS SIMILAR TO A VERY LOUD SUB WOOFER BASS WITH VIBRATION THAT CAN BE FELT ON ALL HARD SURFACES. NOISE VARIES FROM SOFT TO VERY LOUD, AND CYCLES IN AND OUT, BUT NEVER STOPS. MY RESEARCH REVEALED AN ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION SYSTEM (ATMM) INSTALLED ON THIS MODEL, CONSISTING OF NOISE GENERATING MODULES FASTENED TO FRAME, DESIGNED TO OFFSET TRANSMISSION AND MDS NOISES. NOISE CAN BE INTENSE, AGGRAVATING AND VERY DISTRACTING. TWO DEALERS HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE NOISE, BUT CANNOT REPAIR IT.
A WEEK AFTER BUYING THE CAR I NOTICED WATER UNDER THE CARPET IN THE BACK SEAT AREA , I THOUGHT I SPILLED SOMTHING SO I JUST DRIED IT AND REMOVED THE CARPET FOR 2 DAYS ...THEN SUDDENLY FEW DAYS LATER I FEEL LIKE I CAN HEAR THE OUTSIDE STREET MORE THEN NORMAL AND ALSO I COULD HEAR THE BACK WINDOW SHAKING EVERYTIME THE CAR IS GOING OVER A HUMP. THEN AFTER FEW DAYS ON A VERY RAINY DAY , I SEE WATER DRIPPING FROM THE TOP OF MY BACK WINDOW .NOW BY LOOKING AT BACK WINDOW AND TOUCJING IT IT FEEL LOOSE !! SO I DROPPED IT ON A DAY THAT THE LEAK GUY WORKING AT THE LOCAL DEALER JUST TO TELL ME THAT ITS ALL FIXED ...WHEN I TOLD THEM YOU SURE ?? MY ALL WINDOW IS LOOSE THEN SERVICE OPORATION MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE BACK WINDOW IS DIFECTED AND MUST BE REPLACED . THIS WAS ON JULY 26 2018 ....NOW ITS SEP.5 AND IM STILL DONT HAVE THE CAR...IVE BEEN DRIVING A LOANER FOR ALL THIS TIME
WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60 MPH, THE HOOD FLEXES INWARDS AT THE CENTER OF HOOD CLOSE TO THE WINDSHIELD. IT COVERS AN AREA OF 10~12 INCHES IF NOT MORE. THIS WILL LEAD TO STRESS CRACKS AT THE HOOD AND PAINT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO POGUE CHRYSLER (2252 WEST EVERLY BROTHERS BOULEVARD, POWDERLY, KY 42367, (270)-641-0400) TO HAVE THE FRONT BRAKE PADS REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKES FAILED WHEN REVERSING THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO JERK VIOLENTLY. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE CONTACT AND WAS ABLE TO RECREATE THE REAR BRAKE JERKING FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE JERKING WAS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
REAR BRAKE NOISE STARTED AT 3000 MILES. HAD TRUCK SERVICED AT 10K MILES AND NOISE CONTINUED.
SINCE PURCHASE MY 2019 RAM TRUCK HAS LOTS OF ISSUES WITH THE 12 INCH SCREEN. IT CONTROLS EVERYTHING ON THE TRUCK. THE SCREEN GOES BLANK ALL THE TIME AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO CONTROL ANY THING ON THE TRUCK , STEPS , AIR CONDITION, HEAT ETC.... WHEN THE SCREEN ACTS UP THE AUTO RETRACTABLE RUNNING BOARDS STAY OUT UNTIL AROUND 15 MPH. ALSO THE AC AND HEAT WILL AUTOMATICALLY COME ON AND YOU CANT SHUT IF OFF, NO CONTROLS WILL WORK. I HAVE 27 VIDEOS OF MY TRUCK NOT WORKING RIGHT AND ALL DEALER SAYS IS SORRY WE CANT DUPLICATE. THE STEERING IS ALSO ALWAYS OFF. THE STEERING WHEEL GETS OFF TO THE LEFT THEN GOES OFF TO THE RIGHT. DEALER STATES IT TAKES 500 MILES FOR IT TO AUTO ALIGN IT SELF TO RE LEARN CENTER. LOUD SQUEALING DURING LIGHT BRAKING.
The power steering on my 2019 Ram pickup keeps going off so that i am forced to muscle the steering wheel when making turns. I filed a claim on this previously but never heard back from you. It takes quite a bit of strength to manuever the truck without power steering and this is quite unsafe in my opinion; for example, I do not allow my wife or daughter to drive the truck with this dangerous situation. I also took my vehicle into the local dealer for repair of this issue. They told me I had a weak battery with "low codes" and charged me $400 for a new battery. They told me they could not find anything else to report. Very frustrating!!!! Issue started with a "service shifter" warning at just shy of 3,000 miles, in January of 2019, and upon speaking to the dealership, they advised to shut off the truck and restart which cleared the "service shifter" warning. They said it was a glitch and that should remedy the issue. This issue became more frequent later (after manufacturers warranty ran out) It started leaving me stranded, sometimes for hours around 45,000 miles. Later, I suffered a multisystem failure and warnings that the truck was not in park, the shifter would not turn, truck would not start, and multiple other warnings. We were able to replace the battery which we thought had fixed the issue, but two weeks later it has done it again, and this time the battery disconnection for a period of days has not fixed the issue. I still owe two years on this truck and it has been a lemon. I have taken it to two dealerships, neither can fix my issue. I have done countless hours of research to address the issue. I am paying payments and do not have anything to drive. I need help with this issue. I have maintained the vehicle and have only put close to 60,000 miles on the truck. There is no logical reason I should be dealing with this many major issues that even the dealership can not seem to remedy. With such low miles and at only 7 years old, these issues should not be considered "routine maintenance" at the point in the truck's life. I believe this issue needs to be investigated, as I know many RAM owners who are facing the same issues that I am having, with no answers as of yet. I have been watching for recalls or statements from RAM, but nothing yet. Thank you for your time and careful considerations. I look forward to seeing a solution to my issues. Until then, I'll be stranded in Virginia, paying for transportation that can't be fixed.
have a 2019 Ram four-door. I had it for about 6 months when I got this alert for the first time. I was coming to a stop light, and the truck dings at me, gives me the error code "Shift to P then Desired Gear" and shifts itself into neutral. Once I come to a stop, I can then put it back into Drive and continue driving. This only happened once then so I let it slide at a quirk. Fast forward to now. The error code comes up at least 4 times per week, sometimes multiple times in a day. Always happens when I'm coming to a stop. I do notice that the truck seems to shift very hard when accelerating from a full stop or slowing to stop. This has almost got me killed twice now. I have taken to dodge multiple times with no resolution. Please help
